Tom & Collins and AMÉMÉ Release ‘Ando High (Remixes)’
Tom & Collins and AMÉMÉ met at the end of last year to work on their tune for Insomniac Records, “Ando High,” which was a celebration of their shared cultural roots. It mixed the first artist’s Latin sounds with the second artist’s Afro-house sounds perfectly. The single is now getting a new start on life thanks to remixes by Bora Uzer, Jesús Fernández, and even the two big names themselves (VIP mix). I’ve always liked the song ‘Ando High,’ and I wanted to make a version of it in my Afro style. I chose to send it to Tom & Collins because they’ve always been nice to me and helped me a lot with everything. It was fun to work on this, and I’m glad it can be added to the original remix. – Jesús Fernández To end things on a high note, producer duo Tom & Collins from Mexico City and AMÉMÉ from Brooklyn get together again to give their hit song the VIP treatment. The new version has been improved and stripped down. The main melodic theme has been pushed to the background so that the percussion can shine. Swinging drum hits and a rich matrix of deep, afro-inspired elements support the hypnotic vocal hook. With the official release of “Ando High (Remixes),” Tom & Collins and AMÉMÉ take their unique collaboration to a whole new level. It’s packed full of reworks that will keep people dancing at festivals and in clubs. Tom & Collins, AMÉMÉ new ‘Ando High (Remixes) is available on all platforms via Insomniac Records. DJ Topic Plays On During Festival Attack in Solingen and Share Story
What should never have happened again happened again. What was meant to be a joyous free festival for the community of Solingen, Germany, quickly turned into a scene of horror as a knife-wielding attacker went on a stabbing spree. Three dead and eight injured. German DJ and producer Topic found himself at the center of a music festival terror attack. This happened on the 650th anniversary celebration of his hometown Solingen on Friday night (23rd of August, 2024). Topic, who was performing at the event, recounted the surreal experience. The city security personnel asked him to continue playing while the events unfolded to prevent mass panic. They came to me and asked me to please continue playing to avoid causing a mass panic, as there were already people killed by a stabbing attacker – Topic Despite the incredibly difficult circumstances, Topic carried on with his set for another 10-15 minutes in the most professional way, before the music was finally stopped and attendees were informed of the incident. The attacker, who reportedly targeted victims’ necks indiscriminately, was still at large as the situation unfolded. Topic and others sought refuge in a nearby store while police helicopters circled overhead, searching for the suspect. I still can’t believe it… this was supposed to be a free festival for everyone. Really close friends of mine were there with their small kids. – Topic The festival, which was expected to draw around 75,000 people over three days, has been canceled. But, what happened to the attacker? As of Saturday evening, German police had arrested a man suspected of carrying out the stabbings. The suspect reportedly turned himself in, ending an intense manhunt that included raids on a local refugee center. Topic ends his statement with “My thoughts are with all the victims.” The post DJ Topic Plays On During Festival Attack in Solingen and Share Story appeared first on The Groove Cartel.

Splash House 2024: A Tale of Two Epic Weekends
An Overview: What Makes Splash House Special Splash House, the beloved poolside music festival in Palm Springs, once again delivered two back-to-back weekends of sun-soaked fun, electrifying music, and endless good vibes. Hosted at three iconic venues—The Renaissance, Margaritaville, and The Saguaro—this festival merges the best of electronic, house, and disco music with the unique charm of Palm Springs. Whether you’re floating in the pool, dancing at the after-hours Air Museum parties, or roaming between venues, Splash House offers an intimate, yet thrilling experience that sets it apart from other festivals. Felicia Garcia for Splash House Weekend One: Gorgon City, Green Velvet, and Rowdy Revelry The first weekend of Splash House was nothing short of spectacular. With the Renaissance as my personal favorite venue, and The Saguaro coming in a close second, the vibe was just right. The festival layout is cozy enough to feel intimate, with three venues allowing you to roam freely without the overwhelming crowds you find at larger events—at least until the end of the day when things really start to heat up. Highlights from weekend one included the epic back-to-back set from Gorgon City and Green Velvet, which brought the house down with their unique blend of beats. Friday night’s pre-party, Fly with Us, featuring AC Slater and Chris Lorenzo, was nothing short of insane. The Air Museum, with its vintage airplanes and the desert night sky as a backdrop, remains one of the most unique and exhilarating places to party. Felicia Garcia for Splash House Brandon Denlsey for Splash House Brandon Denlsey for Splash House Julian Bajsel for Splash House While Margaritaville was a fantastic venue, some attendees experienced issues with the AC breaking down, leading to discomfort for those staying there. However, the SH organizers quickly responded by offering new accommodations and refunds, ensuring that everyone could still enjoy their weekend. It’s worth noting that the crowd during the first weekend was a bit rowdier than usual, likely due to the high-energy lineup that brought out a more excitable bunch. But that’s part of the fun—certain flavors of house music just have that effect, and the atmosphere was buzzing with excitement. Weekend Two: John Summit, Air Museum, and Renaissance Revelry Weekend two kicked off with an incredible opening party by John Summit. Nala, who opened for him, did an impeccable job setting the stage, but it was Summit’s insatiable beats that truly set the tone for an unforgettable weekend. Julian Bajsel for Splash House Day One The Renaissance proved to be my home base for most of the weekend, and with good reason. Day one started strong with a killer set from Manics, an LA-based duo known for their blend of indie dance, dark disco, and melodic techno. They brought the heat, and set the bar high for the rest of the weekend. Moon Boots and Girl Math—VNSSA b2b Nala—kept the vibes going, creating magic on the decks. Biscits, as expected, did not disappoint, delivering a high-energy set that kept the crowd moving. The night culminated with Chris Lorenzo, who managed to pack the Renaissance to capacity. The pool was the only place with room to move, and that’s where I spent most of his set, floating to the beats in a sea of fellow festival-goers. Julian Bajsel for Splash House Saturday night was all about exploring the Renaissance’s renegade parties. Every corner of the hotel seemed to have a DJ setup, with impromptu sets turning hotel rooms into mini-clubs. A standout was Busterkun, a rising DJ/producer from LA, who stole the show with his incredible renegade set. It was a night of great vibes, spontaneous friendships, and nonstop music. While I planned to see Disco Dom at the Air Museum, I ended up staying at the Renaissance, where the energy was just too good to leave. Brandon Denlsey for Splash House Day Two Though I stayed up way too late on Saturday, missing most of day two, I managed to catch LF System as the sun set, creating the perfect backdrop for their groovy, disco-laden take on house music. MEDUZA’s two-hour set was the highlight of the night, taking us on an unforgettable journey and ending with the fitting track ‘I Don’t Want to Go Home’. Everyone in the crowd felt the same way. Brandon Denlsey for Splash House While I didn’t make it to The Saguaro or Margaritaville, friends who did had nothing but praise for performances by SG Lewis, AC Slater, Patrick Topping, and Dr. Fresch. Riordan and Austin Millz also delivered standout sets, making the most of the unique energy at each venue. Final Thoughts: Why Splash House is a Must-Attend Festival Splash House is more than just a festival; it’s a community. With its intimate setup, diverse lineups, and unique venues, it creates an atmosphere where lasting friendships are made. It could even be said that every moment feels like a shared celebration. Whether you’re a first-timer or a veteran, there’s always something new to discover and someone new to meet. Brandon Denlsey for Splash House Brandon Densey for Splash House Gabriella Hughes for Splash House While it’s impossible to catch every act across the three venues, that’s part of the fun. Each venue offers its own distinct vibe, and no matter where you find yourself, you’re in for a good time. Acts like Wenzday, DJ Topgun, and Bijou were on my list to see but didn’t quite fit into my weekend—just more reasons to return next year. Gina Joy for Splash House Gina Joy for Splash House Julian Bajsel for Splash House Whether Splash House returns for two or three weekends next year, it’s an event you don’t want to miss. If you love Coachella, CRSSD, or just a good pool party, Splash House is the ultimate summer festival. See you next year! ALRT, Sam Silver & Whiterosemoxie Team Up To Bring Us ‘Again’ ft. Leap 96 & Yona Via TH3RD BRAIN Records
July saw the launch of the Leap 96 project by ALRT and Sam Silver as they unveiled ‘Back It Up’, a single which would exceed all expectations and lay down the foundation for what is to come for this duo. Now, just 1 month later they are proving that the first hit was not a fluke as they present us with ‘Again’ alongside Whiterosemoxie and Yona. The single marks the 2nd release from the self titled ‘Leap 96’ EP which is due out on October 18th via LA-based imprint TH3RD BRAIN Records. Driven by an energetic liquid drum and bass production, ‘Again’ showcases the intertwined talents of two outstanding singers, Yona and Whiterosemoxie. Their contrasting tones, both male and female, build a unique energy and tension from the start, capturing the dynamics and complexities that play out in a relationship. The lyrics are fraught with emotion, delivered alongside ethereal melodies that culminate in a sizzling DnB drop. ‘Again’ takes the listener along with Leap 96 on a modern sonic journey that truly transcends genres. [ Yona, the 18-year-old bilingual French-American singer-songwriter, brings a unique blend of pop with a hint of grunge, grime, guitars, and deep lyrics to the track. Her highly distinctive and intensely emotional voice brings a unique flair that perfectly complements the production. The American rapper Whiterosemoxie shares a deeply personal connection with the song, stating, “When we recorded ‘Again’, I had just recently gone through a breakup, and constantly saw it rubbed in my face on social media. At the top of the year, I had found new love and wrote this song to express my cautionary attitude towards my new relationship. We were at the point where we could decide to be more than friends or hit the brakes. Knowing we both want more out of life than what we have now, it is very hard to imagine a successful relationship that also allows for us to achieve what we want. When we do this thing we both know we shouldn’t do, will you blame it all on me?” Leap 96 is a collaborative project between Sam Silver and ALRT, drawing inspiration from the late 90s and early 2000s when Garage and Drum and Bass first began to appear on the rave scene. The music blends vocal-driven dance music for both uptempo and downtempo settings. The name Leap 96 was chosen to signify the middle year between Sam and ALRT’s birthdays, which was also a leap year. The project’s sonic direction reflects their backgrounds, with ALRT coming from a prosperous old-school rave scene and Sam from the new-age garage, rap, and ethereal house scene. Their combined influences create a unique sound that blends garage, rap, dnb, and vocals with an indie pop sensibility. Sam Silver and ALRT met at a studio in Hollywood, California, where ALRT co-founded with well-known artist/producer JOYRYDE. What started as a casual co-writing session turned into two months of co-production, yielding the four songs on the EP as well as many other works in progress. Don’t skip the single and make sure to stay tuned for the full ‘Leap 96’ EP coming on October 18th!

HollowFate & Mayxer Remix ‘Speaker’ for Emiilo and L’essence
It’s dark. It’s hard. It’s powerful. The new Speaker remix from HollowFate & Mayxer is something you would hear in the most underground clubs in Berlin. And that’s exactly why we love it. This track is part of Denar Records’ remix competition. It’s snapping necks with its bone-rattling basslines and synth work so intricate it could make a watchmaker weep. We didn’t just want to remix the track – HollowFate shared in an exclusive chat – We wanted to grab it by the scruff of the neck and drag it kicking and screaming into the future of bass house. The result? A track that’s darker than a black hole but more euphoric than a supernova. It’s the kind of song that doesn’t just fill a dancefloor—it possesses it, body and soul. And the industry has taken notice. Don Diablo, the Dutch dance music maestro, gave the remix his seal of approval on his radio show. The tune is yet another powerful proof of the incredible skills HollowFate & Mayxer have. This remix is also part of a 3-track EP from Denar Records. More remixes from Menshee and Michael Phase are also available. But don’t be fooled by the appearance. Just turn up the volume and hit that play button with the HollowFate & Mayxer remix of ‘Speaker’. You won’t be disappointed. Eli & Fur present ‘Love Again’ with Hugo Cantarra, Richard Judge
Long time The Groove Cartel friend Hugo Cantarra is back; this time he teams up with powerful electronic music duo Eli & Fur and Richard Judge. Eli & Fur, Hugo Cantarra, and Richard Judge’s new tune ‘Love Again’ is out now on [PIAS] Électronique. You may have heard in the news but ‘Love Again’ is not just another single. Its is part of the upcoming Eli & Fur highly-anticipated second album, ‘Dreamscapes’. ‘Love Again’ begins as a tale of endless opportunities, capturing the thrilling trepidation of the unknown. As soft, airy synths intertwine with delicate, uplifting beats the unwinding of the track effortlessly mimics the rhythmic elevation of a rising excited heartbeat. ì’Love Again’ is a collaboration with super talented producers and writers Hugo Cantarra and Richard Judge. This track is one that has been connecting on the dancefloor so beautifully and we have been dying to get it out into the world. For us the song encapsulates that feeling of being free and inspires, endless possibilities, dancing and letting go. Our favorite memories of this track are the reactions when we play it out, to see people singing the words to an unreleased track really fills us with joy. We are so happy to finally share this one with the world. – Eli & Fur Richard Judge is a British singer, songwriter & DJ from London. Once an indie-band frontman, Judge turned his attention to the dance world and has since collaborated with some of its biggest names including Kungs, Benny Benassi, Roger Sanchez, Tensnake, Henrik Schwarz, Laidback Luke, and Korolova, to name just a few. The journey of Love Again showcases the beauty of collaboration. What started off as a voice note on a bus in Berlin, has since been played in clubs all over the world and that’s still nothing short of amazing to me. A couple of years ago Hugo lived down the road from me and we’d hang out, always talking about doing something together – but I knew it needed to be for the right song. Fast forward a year or so and I had the idea for Love Again. I immediately knew it was the one to send him, but what I didn’t know was that he’d produce his version and send it to Eli & Fur who I loved! They added their touches to it and what you hear now is a record that has three combined identities, that’s what I love about collaborating. – Richard Judge Hugo Cantarra is a London-based French DJ/producer. He lives and breathes the culture of dance music. He has become a staple in the melodic house scene over the recent years accumulating 36 million streams, and 1.5 million Shazams. He also runs a charity record label where revenue is donated in full to UNICEF. Love Again started with a message from Richard who pitched me this vocal and he was like ‘brother this is for you, i’m sure you can produce that well!’. I made a version and was thinking that it’s right in the style of Eli & Fur. As they ve been a major inspiration for me, I’ve sent them, loved it and the rest is history! – Hugo Cantarra The post Eli & Fur present ‘Love Again’ with Hugo Cantarra, Richard Judge appeared first on The Groove Cartel.

Thomas Gold delivers Chill vibes with ‘The Game of Love’ Remix
We started knowing him in 2010 and 2012 when Thomas Gold released AGORa on SIZE and then Sing2Me on Axtone. The Axtone one, especially, projected him into the world’s electronic music panorama. Now, after twelve years from Sing2Me, Thomas Gold has slightly moved his style, choosing to go a little bit deeper and chiller. This is how The Game of Love remix was born, with soft harmonies and relaxing lines. But the tune wasn’t always like that. The original mix was released this May and it features, yes, a chill beat and plucked harmonies but it’s more radio and pop-oriented. This Chill remix moves on the tropical house side of music. The mystical and angelic piano lines are supported by the incredible female vocal. The soft beats are clean but, overall the tune is pretty energetic for a sunset kind of mood. EDMTunes New Music Friday – Week 34
Listen to the most flavour-packed tracks we discovered this week. Music makes the world go round. And in that regard, we’re constantly on the lookout for new, exciting tunes to share with our audience. We’ve found some that cause goosebumps, and make you open your eyes and get up from your chair to dance. So put on your best pair of headphones, or turn up your speakers, and enjoy this week’s New Music Friday. Here are our top picks for the best music we came across this week, in no particular order. And remember, if you would like to contact us for a chance to feature your track on our page, head over to this link right here. Jakatta – American Dream (PROFF Interpretation) Genre: Organic House It’s unreal that we can officially say this. But the remix is finally out. Following a hotly anticipated premiere on Anjunadeep 15 — and an even hotlierly-anticipated debut on his 2023 Anjunadeep Explorations Albania set —, PROFF‘s “Interpretation” of Jakatta‘s ‘American Dream‘ finally saw the light of day, offering a noble perspective on the iconic original track. The result is a vibrant and danceable track that captures the essence of the original while adding a unique and contemporary twist. The track’s reflective breathing spaces provide a welcome contrast to the energetic dancefloor-ready sections, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the music’s emotional depth. Santiablo – X Genre: Progressive House, Melodic Techno Santiago, also known as Santiablo, a Bronx-based music producer, has been shaking up the New York music scene with his sound, for close to ten years. His music, characterised by infectious rhythms and soulful melodies, has earned him a reputation as one of the most exciting and influential producers of his generation. His latest release is simply titled ‘X‘. The track is a powerful blend of Progressive House influences, nearly bordering Melodic Techno. It’s an energetic record that plays with mysterious and tense progressions over a solid bed of arpeggiated melody, and the end result is quite tailored for the more packed moments on the dancefloor. Seth Schwarz & Lydgen (as ARTEMIDES) – Matter of Time (Stars Align) Genre: Organic House Great news comes to you today from the generous world of the Deeper House family, as the Electronic duo ARTEMIDES, consisting of Seth Schwarz and Lydgen, has finally released their much-awaited single ‘Matter of Time (Stars Align)‘. This is arguably their most requested ID ever, as the track became one of the unofficial anthems of last year’s Burning Man, jumping from DJ to DJ, and quickly spreading across USBs on the playa like wildfire. The track is an Organic House masterpiece. It’s not only iconically beautiful — a characteristic so core to ARTEMIDES’ sound —, but it’s also quite catchy. So, one way or another, it’s got the formula for success. It’s a laid-back piece that, to be frank, at times wants to make you tear up. The warm pads and the chords portray emotion from all angles. Are you a producer and you want your song featured on EDMTunes? Follow this link right here. Rebūke – Along Came Polly (Konstantin Sibold, ZAC, CARMEE Remix) Genre: Melodic Techno Rebūke‘s 2018 hit ‘Along Came Polly‘ is back, reimagined for a new era. PROFF Aces Iconic Jakatta ‘American Dream’ Organic House Remix
Anjunadeep’s finest just released a highly anticipated remix of a golden melody from yesteryear. It’s unreal that we can officially say this. Jakatta, real name Dave Lee, produced the original version of ‘American Dream’ back in 2001, sampling two Thomas Newman pieces from the soundtrack of the 1999 film American Beauty — ‘American Beauty’ and ‘Dead Already’. The single went on to reach #3 in the Official UK Singles Charts and also reached the top 40 in Ireland, Spain, and Belgium, solidifying its status as a timeless Dance music classic. Following the release, the second resurgence it had came with Joey Negro’s Club Mix, from 2002. After that, even kids got to know the melody, as a scene of the first Madagascar movie (2005) features that sample. This year, nearly a quarter of a century after the original track, PROFF’s Interpretation arrives with his signature blend of Organic House, adding a groovy drum beat while preserving the distinctive tuned percussion and beautiful Thomas Newman sample found in the original. The result is a vibrant and danceable track that captures the essence of the original while adding a unique and contemporary twist. The track’s reflective breathing spaces provide a welcome contrast to the energetic dancefloor-ready sections, inviting listeners to immerse themselves in the music’s emotional depth. Macon Lands Banging Hyper-Techno Remix For Tiësto’s ‘Drifting’
The Dance icon received this hot new remix from one of the founding acts of the scene. Renowned DJ and producer Macon has unveiled a powerful reinterpretation of Tiësto‘s hit track ‘Drifting‘, featuring the voice of Poppy Baskcomb. A fresh flip of the original tune, the remix is part of the new Drifting (Remixes) EP that sees a bunch of esteemed artists flip that track. The lineup, apart from Macon, includes SISTEK, KREAM, Koven, Jengi, and Wildstylez. As an early pioneer of the Hyper-Techno genre, Macon has rapidly risen to prominence in the scene. His productions are clever and skilful, and earned him a Grammy nomination for his work on the Kx5 album track ‘Avalanche‘. He’s also worked with industry luminaries such as Oliver Heldens, Sander van Doorn, and Tiësto himself. Last year, Macon was crowned SoundCloud’s Top Streamed Electronic Artist. ‘Drifting (Macon Remix)’ Macon’s remix of ‘Drifting’ is a true tribute to his influence and footprint in the industry. The core elements of the sound portrayed can be described as his signature Hyper-Techno style, but a remarkable aspect is that his take is respectful enough to preserve the ethereal vocals and original Trance-leaning melodies that characterised the original. Fatum, Bren Lock And Brieanna Grace Collaborate On Monstruous ‘Make Me Wonder’
A bunch of minds just came together for what might become a Melodic Techno future classic. We’ve been following the excellent duo Fatum for a while. Ever since their first release ten years ago, they’ve released banger after banger, never ceasing to impress and innovate. This time, they’re joined by an experienced producer under a new alias, Bren Lock, and the gifted vocalist Brieanna Grace, to create a stunning new track, ‘Make Me Wonder‘. The single, released via Insomniac’s Interstellar Recordings, is quite the gemstone. Fatum, the Grammy-nominated duo of Daniel Davis and Bruce Karlsson, brings their defining blend of cinematic soundscapes and infectious rhythms to the track. At the same time, Bren Lock adds his unique touch with his melodic and progressive notes. You might know him as one former half of Anden, and he’s now branched out to start his own solo project. The trio’s collaboration is elevated by the angelic vocals of Brieanna Grace, who effortlessly shifts between major and minor tonalities to create a truly captivating listening experience. ‘Make Me Wonder’ The piece is powerful from the very start, with starring Fatum’s pointy saw leads moving down in the key of the track. A potent chopped low end can also be heard before most elements fade to give way to the starring vocal kingdom of Grace. ‘Make Me Wonder’ plays with a call-and-response arrangement between the vocal and instrumental synths, to then portray an epic breakdown in true Melodic Techno fashion. “We’re thrilled to present ‘Make Me Wonder’ to our fans. This track is a testament to the incredible talent of Bren Lock and Brieanna Grace, and we’re excited to share this cosmic journey with everyone.” -Fatum Listen to Fatum, Bren Lock, and Brieanna Grace‘s ‘Make Me Wonder’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below.
