The renowned Bass artist is running an extensive round of gigs throughout the greater part of North America this autumn.
Following the critical acclaim of his latest studio album, Open Channel, which includes sites such as Forbes, Clash, UKF, and SPIN, Dance music producer Barclay Crenshaw embarks on a comprehensive North American tour this upcoming autumn. This expanded tour itinerary is a direct response to his album’s great reception among fans and critics alike.
The Open Channel Tour showcases a selection of Claude VonStroke’s Bass moniker, from which stand out hits like ‘Stay Together‘ featuring TeeZandos, ‘Do My Ting‘ featuring Flowdan and Stush, and the chart-topping ‘Big In The Game‘ featuring Snowy & Manga Saint Hilare.
Although named after the LP, Crenshaw’s sets are planned to extend beyond Open Channel, paying homage to the genre with a blend of modern and classic Bass music, weaved with his signature Hip-Hop favourites and eclectic edits. To elevate the whole experience a couple notches, Barclay Crenshaw is collaborating with visual artists Gabriel Hall (LightBender) and Daniel Martin Diaz, to craft a visually stunning backdrop that complements the music.
This tour will see Barclay perform the largest shows of his career so far, including headlining Mission Ballroom in Denver — a 4,000 capacity venue — on December 6th, Jannus Live in St. Petersburg, Florida on November 30th, and a special Day of the Dead performance with Detox Unit at Skydeck in Nashville on November 2nd.
Take a peek! Below you’ll find the full schedule of Barclay Crenshaw’s Open Channel Tour. Secure your tickets by clicking this link right here.

Earlier this year, Twitch announced the Twitch DJ Program, a major step forward for the DJ community, the music industry, and the millions of music fans on Twitch. DJs have historically faced serious challenges on the Internet because their content is complex and doesn’t fit into traditional music structures. Thanks to a historic partnership with major labels like Universal, Warner, Sony and hundreds of independent labels, Twitch will be the first major service to provide a long-term home for DJs to legally livestream using the vast majority of popular music.
The Program allows DJ’s to grow and engage with their communities, but does so within a framework that also fairly compensates musicians. Joining the program means you are cleared to stream a catalog that includes tens of millions of tracks representing the vast majority of popular music, and you’ll be eligible for new promotional opportunities too. You can view the catalog of music the program allows you to stream here.

If you enroll in the program during the first year, you’ll qualify for a Twitch subsidy that helps cover the new music costs for partners and affiliates. This starts at 100% for the month of August. Learn more about the subsidy program here. The program comes with some changes to your account that you should understand before you join. You can learn more here, and find answers to questions we’ve heard from the Twitch DJ Community here. You’re free to opt out at any time, but if you plan on streaming DJ content, you are responsible for making sure you have the necessary authorizations from rights holders to do so.
The DJ Program is now live, and you can join it here.

Universal Music Group (UMG) announced a new deal with Meta, which will enhance creative and commercial opportunities for UMG artists and Universal Music Publishing Group songwriters across Meta’s global platforms. These platforms include Facebook, Instagram, Messenger, Horizon, Threads, and, for the first time, and WhatsApp.
Users can now share licensed music from UMG within WhatsApp. UMG highlighted that this partnership with Meta to license music for WhatsApp creates “new value for UMG artists and songwriters moving forward.”
Additionally, UMG and Meta plan to collaborate on addressing unauthorized AI-generated content that could impact artists and songwriters.
This announcement comes two weeks after UMG mentioned Meta in its Q2 earnings report, covering the three months ending in June. Despite UMG’s overall revenues increasing by 9.6% year-over-year, the company reported a 3.9% decline in ad-funded streaming revenues. UMG’s CFO, Boyd Muir, explained that part of this decline was due to Meta’s decision in May to stop licensing premium videos for Facebook from UMG, as these videos were “less popular with Facebook’s user base than other music products.”
However, UMG and Meta have now finalized a “multifaceted renewal,” expanding monetization opportunities for UMG artists and songwriters through short-form videos and other areas of music content. In a joint statement, the companies emphasized their continued innovation and collaboration in the music space.
In summary, while UMG faced some revenue challenges due to Meta’s decision to halt licensing premium videos on Facebook, the new agreement has opened up new revenue streams for UMG, particularly in the short-form video and WhatsApp licensing spaces.
UMG’s new agreement with Meta builds on the “strategic framework” established with their 2017 “landmark agreement,” which made UMG the first major music company to license its catalogs across Facebook’s platforms. UMG noted that Facebook played a pioneering role as music’s first fully licensed partner among major social media platforms.
This partnership follows a 2022 deal in which UMG and Meta expanded revenue-sharing and enhanced engagement with UMG’s catalog. That agreement included the use of UMG’s music within Meta’s user-generated content (UGC) video payout model, with Meta sharing a portion of advertising revenue with music rights holders for certain user-generated video content on Facebook that is 60 seconds or longer.

Bryce Connolly, professionally known as indie dance connoisseur mindchatter, delivered an electrifying live set at a jam-packed Sutro Stage during Outside Lands‘ 2024 installment. At the start of the year, Connolly issued an official remix of Poolside and Ben Browning’s “Ride With You,” streaming via Counter Records. Soon after, the New York City-bred producer shared two new singles, “Brain Pills” followed by “Corporate Shakespeare,” rounding out his second EP materializing on ODESZA‘s esteemed Foreign Family Collective, titled This Is A Reminder That You Are Not Behind Your Face.
After a major appearance alongside Walker & Royce at The Shrine, plus sold-out headline tour dates in Los Angeles, New York, and Denver, mindchatter co-signed a pair of official remixes for his two latest releases. Ahead of his climactic Outside Lands performance, symbolizing a culmination of his North American tour, mindchatter recruited Familiar Faces, who turned in a minimal tech rendition of “Brain Pills,” and Azzecca, who shared her acidic interpretation of “Corporate Shakespeare.”
Now that Outside Lands has come and gone, mindchatter is already gearing up to get back out on the road; this time, out overseas. In an exclusive Q&A with ‘Dancing Astronaut,’ the Foreign Family artist revealed a slew of fresh tour datest, bringing his A Chorus of Monologues Tour to over 35 dates across 5 different countries. You’re no stranger to major festivals. How has your live set evolved over time?
Last year, you put out “Got Cash” with Emmit Fenn, who you also worked with on “Hips” in 2022. Aside from those records, mindchatter operates pretty independently. Is this by happenstance or do you like working solo?
DREAM SOUP officially landed over two years ago, in April 2022. Has it felt that long? How much do you still identify with the project?
You’ve maintained a consistent aesthetic since launching your artist project in 2019. What inspired this vision?
What goes into deciding on the producers who remix your original works?
Do you have any upcoming shows in cities you’re excited to perform in?
Can fans expect another full-length album anytime soon?
Lastly, even though you tend to work independently, is there someone out there you’d love to put out a record with?

Armed with turntables and a baby bump, Lily McKenzie is redefining the sounds of resilience.
The South London-based DJ, producer and singer-songwriter recently released Pressure, her debut EP, via Warner's Major Recordings label. Influenced by impending motherhood, the project palpitates with the raw energy of creation—both musical and maternal.
In Pressure, McKenzie crafts haunting yet energetic dance music that echoes the complexities of her dual roles. With a growing life internally and a burgeoning career externally, she's turning pressure into power and vulnerability into art.
The surging triple-threat, who recently performed twice at Glastonbury while pregnant, spins tales of self-worth and resilience in her new record. Through the sensual slink of "Satellite" and the aching twinge of the UK garage-inspired "Middle," among other tracks, the EP serves as a reminder that we are much more than the sum of our struggles.
McKenzie is currently riding the wave of a breakout after nabbing support from Capital Dance as well as BBC Radio 1's "Future Sounds" and "Future Dance with Sarah Story." She's also landed on major playlists such as Spotify's "New Dance Revolution" and "The Loft."
We caught up with McKenzie to discuss her new EP and the adversity that comes with navigating the music industry as a pregnant woman.
EDM.com: Before we get into the new EP, let's talk Glasto. What was your experience like performing not once, but twice this year?
Lily McKenzie: Glastonbury was amazing. It's always such a privilege to perform there and I always find that anyone I speak to—at whatever level they are in their career—there’s a sense honor but also pressure to put on a great show.
I played at the Stonebridge bar, which was packed and such good energy—I was worried I wouldn’t be able to get to the stage as it was so crowded! I also played The Temple, which is one of my favorite venues, so that was definitely one to remember.
View the original article to see embedded media.
EDM.com: With this EP, it's all in the name. How does the concept of pressure relate to your personal and professional life, especially in the context of your current journey as a pregnant woman?
Lily McKenzie: Pressure is about navigating your way through the strains of life, in particular within the music industry. I definitely feel those pressures, and being pregnant your emotions and hormones are heightened so that adds another layer!
The EP discusses these concepts, but it’s about knowing you are enough, seeing through what doesn’t serve, and coming out stronger. When you are true to yourself, everything levels out and you are able to thrive under pressure.
EDM.com: The track "Satellite" explores detachment and our pleas—even desperate at times—for human connection. From where did you pull inspiration to write those profound lyrics?
Lily McKenzie: I think we all feel a little lost at times—the world can be so noisy and it can be hard to feel connected. I wrote this song with two amazing producers, Andy Sheldrake and Ross Quinn, and after chatting we found we had all experienced these feelings at some point in our lives. We thought back to times we’d felt that way and from there the lyrics just flowed.
EDM.com: There's been a growing conversation around the stigmas that pregnant artists face in the music industry. What have been some of the biggest obstacles you've encountered, and how have you navigated them to stay true to your vision?
Lily McKenzie: I did feel at first that I had to hide being pregnant for as long as possible as I was worried people would think I couldn’t be booked for shows, or wouldn’t be able to release music. But to be honest, the response has been really positive and I think there has been a shift.
As soon as you show you can do it (literally perform pregnant) then it’s normalized and the opportunities will hopefully keep coming. Women are proving we can do it all and I think it’s such a powerful and inspiring thing—I for one feel so lifted when I see other women doing the same.
EDM.com: How have you been managing the physical and emotional challenges of pregnancy alongside the demands of your burgeoning career?
Lily McKenzie: Pregnancy for me has definitely been physically and emotionally challenging and I’ve just had to go at my own pace. I’ve made sure to be kind to myself and rest when I’ve needed to. Staying busy with my career has helped though as it’s been a distraction when I haven’t been feeling great. It’s important to stay positive and music has always been my happy place too.
View the original article to see embedded media.
EDM.com: What advice would you give to other expecting musicians navigating this territory?
Lily McKenzie: I would say that there’s no rules. People have different experiences and the priority is making sure you and your baby stay healthy—9 months is a really short time if you look at the bigger picture. You can only do as much as you feel strong enough to do.
I’ve been really lucky to have had great people around me at my shows, or in my studio sessions, so if I’ve been tired or unwell they’ve totally understood. I would say that’s so important, make sure the people you work with on this journey have that same understating and compassion.
EDM.com: Looking ahead, what kind of impact do you think motherhood may have on your artistry? Do you see yourself approaching lyricism, production or other processes through a different lens?
Lily McKenzie: I write from a very honest and sensitive place and I think if anything motherhood will enhance that. I don’t expect my sound or process to change too much as that’s already a strong part of me, but this is my first time having this experience so I’m sure I will notice any changes as I go along!
EDM.com: What's next for you? Without getting into too much trouble, are there any exciting things in the Lily McKenzie pipeline you can reveal to our readers?
Lily McKenzie: It’s definitely been go, go, go leading up to the EP which has been great, but I’ll be taking the next few months to enjoy being a first time mum for sure. It’ll also be nice to spend that time listening to music and crate-digging at a slower pace.
I have been writing lots of new music that I’m excited about and I’m planning to drop some new records towards the end of the year. I’ve also started booking in some shows for then too—so it’ll be nice after a little break to come back with a fresh perspective!

Out today is the newest single from award-winning artist and producer Ben Böhmer, entitled ‘Rust.’ The track continues the lead up to Böhmer’s third studio album, Bloom, arriving September 27 via Ninja Tune.
While Ben’s previous singles serve as a stark departure from his signature sound—he’s determined to break out of the pre-fabricated boxes he’s been put—’Rust’ is a callback for his fans who adore the sound of his previous projects. Begin Again (2021) and Breathing (2019) earned Ben immense success (nearly 1 billion plays, and 200 shows in 2022 alone), but he found himself being pulled too far in a direction that wasn’t meant to define him. Identifying more as a composer/songwriter, Ben set out to write Bloom as a reset, sharing music that shows the breadth and depth of his talent. ‘Rust,’ within the context of the previous singles, shows that the dreamy, melodic house that his fans love, is still a key part of his sound, while he continues to branch out.
‘Rust’ follows the previously released, Pitchfork-supported ‘Hiding,’ a collaboration with award-winning dream pop icon Lykke Li, and the lead single ‘Best Life,’ with one of Ben’s favorite collaborators, JONAH, earlier this year. The new single is a powerful, piano-led track with a steady rhythm, featuring swathes of orchestral crescendos and soft, delicate interludes, evoking the rich palette of emotions he’s known for.
Up Next for Ben Böhmer
Ben is fresh off several major performances, including festivals such as Lollapalooza, Sonar by Night and Electric Forest, and serving as direct support for ODESZA at The Gorge, BMO Stadium, and Madison Square Garden. Looking ahead, he’ll round out his North American tour with a stop at Portola before embarking on an Australian tour, on track to sell out across the continent, where he’ll perform in music halls across Brisbane, Sydney, and Melbourne (currently sold out). Then, he’ll head back to Europe for a string of massive fall shows (46k capacity total), including a stop at the Great Hall of Alexandra Palace.
About Ben Böhmer
Ben’s music and live performances have earned him widespread acclaim from fans and tastemakers alike. In 2023, he completed the biggest-ever North American live touring run while reaching 4 million monthly Spotify listeners and accumulating over 1.3M social followers across all platforms. His Cercle set has surpassed 32 million views and is now one of the top 10 most viewed electronic music sets of all time on YouTube. He’s shared festival stage bills with the likes of Caribou, Four Tet, Bicep, Jamie xx, and Amelie Lens, and in 2022, launched Portraet, his four-night residency at the open-air Ibiza club Cova Santa, enlisting Barry Can’t Swim, HAAi, Sofia Kourtesis and more to play alongside him.

Matt McBriar, one half of the renowned electronic music duo Bicep, has revealed a recent surgical procedure to remove a rare brain tumor.
McBriar on Tuesday shared a statement via the band's Instagram page, writing that he started experiencing headaches and fatigue in late-2023 before conducting blood tests the following spring. The exams indicated "that something was wrong" so he opted for an MRI and CT scan, which detected a large tumor.
McBriar says his doctors discovered a craniopharyngioma tumor on his pituitary gland. Though typically benign, a growth of this variety can put pressure on the nerves, blood vessels or brain tissue near the pituitary gland, according to Johns Hopkins Medicine.
"The good news is firstly, it’s almost certainly not cancerous and secondly, I’ve caught it in the earlier stages of damage," McBriar said. "I'd been very lucky to get those initial blood tests followed by an MRI. Had it been much longer I might’ve lost some eyesight and a load of other problems due to the size and position of the tumour pressing on my optic nerves."
McBriar continued to play shows before ultimately undergoing brain surgery on August 9th, 2024. He's currently healing in the hospital after a successful operation to remove the tumor and looking at a recovery period of six to eight weeks, he said.
McBriar's bandmate, Andy Ferguson, will perform Bicep shows solo "until further notice" as he recovers. Upcoming tour dates include appearances at Creamfields, Making Time, Portola and CRSSD, among other international music festivals. Each of these performances are currently billed as the duo's innovative audiovisual show, "Chroma."

Solomun’s label welcomes Fel C’s latest EP, “Berlin Plex,” a lively blend of techno and indie dance that’s making waves in the electronic music scene.
Brazilian DJ Fel C‘s new EP, “Berlin Plex,” is garnering attention in the electronic music world with its debut on Solomun’s Diynamic label, reaching impressive chart positions in its first week. The Berlin Plex EP has climbed to the Top 4 in Melodic House & Techno and the Top 18 in Beatport’s overall sales ranking, marking a significant milestone in Fel C’s career.

A robust educational background underpins Fel C’s journey in music. He studied Music Production and Sound Design at Point Blank London and Phonographic Production at Centro Universitário Belas Artes de São Paulo. Reflecting on his education, Fel C says, “In London, I immersed myself in one of the epicentres of the electronic scene. In São Paulo, I delved into music theory and history, which have been fundamental to my creative process. I feel that I am not just a ‘beat maker,’ but a musician.”
Throughout his career, Fel C has performed at iconic venues such as D-Edge in Brazil, Ministry of Sound and EGG in the UK, and Bora Bora Beach Club in Ibiza. Yet, one of his most memorable performances was at FOMO in Baku, Azerbaijan. “The club is surreal, the crowd was enthusiastic and engaged, and the city was charming. It’s a place I want to return to and recommend to anyone looking for a top-notch club experience,” he recalls.

“Berlin Plex” is an EP showcasing Fel C’s ability to blend various techno and indie dance elements across its four tracks. The opening track, “Delta,” created in collaboration with ID ID., is a rollercoaster of sounds. “The track began with funk carioca percussion samples and a female vocal. I then crafted the dancefloor vibe I love, a mix of Electro and Indie Dance, and ID ID. added the final touch,” explains Fel C.
The title track, “Berlin Plex,” emerged from the inspiration Fel C felt after seeing Solomun play “Delta.” “Seeing your idol play your music is incredibly motivating. In one studio session, ‘Berlin Plex‘ came together out of a pure desire to produce more tracks for Solomun to play,” he shares.

“Diferent Style,” a collaboration with Cafius, takes on a more melancholic tone, blending Indie Dance with ragga vocals. “Cafius saw my story of Solomun playing ‘Delta,’ loved it, and asked if I was up for creating a new track in that style. ‘Different Style’ came together quickly,” says Fel C.
The final track on the EP, “Whispers,” again featuring ID ID, showcases Fel C‘s vocals over an acid techno beat. “This track started with the vocal idea, which I recorded first. I then built a dancefloor-focused sound around it and sent it to ID ID, who enhanced it further with the label’s signature style,” he explains.

Fel C values the importance of collaboration in his creative process. “I seek out artists who bring something different to my sound or whose work I greatly admire. Collaborations are always a learning experience and a chance to create something unique and special,” he says.
Discussing his musical evolution, Fel C notes that his style is constantly evolving. “Every track I listen to and fall in love with influences my future productions in some way. This constant change is what keeps me motivated and eager to learn. Today, I identify with the Indie Dance genre because it encompasses such a wide range of sounds.”

As for trends in electronic music, Fel C observes a shift towards faster tempos, with euro trance and electro influences making a strong comeback. “The 90s are back in fashion and music. I think my EP with Diynamic reflects this trend well,” he comments.
Looking ahead, Fel C has ambitious plans. “I have a strong desire to play in the middle of a forest, something intimate and connected with nature. I’m also busy in the studio, working on more collaborations with ID ID and Cafius.”
Fel C continues to innovate and contribute to the electronic music scene, promising more dynamic productions and memorable performances in the future.

Fel C., ID ID and Cafius discographies are on Spotify and more information is available on social media @felcmusic @ididmusic @cafiusmusic @diynamicmusic

Lifted in Sound is a real team effort. The EP’s got 6 tracks, with one original and five remixes, adding up to nearly 40 minutes of pure House Music.
Carrillo Music has officially released “Lifted in Sound,” the latest single from established dance music artists Rod Carrillo and Ron Carroll. The track is available on all major streaming platforms such as Apple Music, Spotify, Beatport and is already making an impact on various music charts.
The collaboration between Rod Carrillo and Ron Carroll has resulted in “Lifted in Sound,” a track that blends elements from their musical backgrounds. Known for their long-standing contributions to the dance music scene,  and Carroll have crafted a song that reflects their shared vision while highlighting their distinct styles.
“Lifted in Sound” is a product of the creative synergy between Carrillo and Carroll. The track combines soulful vocal elements with house music’s rhythmic foundation, creating a piece that resonates within the genre. The release is accompanied by remixes from several producers, including Kebab & Cream, Mo, Knox, and Elliot Holloway, each bringing their own interpretation to the original mix. Listen here:

“Lifted in Sound” became real when Ron Carroll presented a vocal idea to Rod Carrillo. The concept resonated with Carrillo, leading to an organic studio session where the track was developed. Carrillo drew on Carroll’s background in soulful, church-influenced music, integrating those elements into the composition. The result is a track that embodies both artists’ roots while exploring new sonic territories. Listen to the club mix by Kebab & Cream:

The remixes accompanying the original track bring additional layers to the release. Mo’s remix, in particular, introduces a progressive sound that aligns with the track’s inclusion in the Melodic Progressive House chart. Each remix reflects the individual producer’s style, offering diverse listening experiences within the same release.
“The defining moments of my career are the times when I kept going and didn’t listen to outside noise. To keep making the music that I believe in my soul will resonate with people.  I’ve had a lot of defining points, but I can’t point to one – the whole journey has been a great experience”, says Rod Carrillo.

Since its release, “Lifted in Sound” has gained traction on Traxsource, featuring on charts such as Weekend Weapons, Essential House, Hype, and Melodic/Progressive. The track’s early success indicates its broad appeal across different segments of the dance music community.

Rod Carrillo expressed satisfaction with the reception of the track, noting the importance of creating music that moves people and resonates on dance floors. He highlighted the underrepresentation of house music in certain markets and the joy of seeing “Lifted in Sound” embraced by DJs globally.

“To be honest I think the journey of life itself is defining. Anyone who puts purpose in their moves and purpose in their actions will see results. Working with Rod was already in the cards for both of us when we began this journey individually. In our destinies just finally connected, says Ron Carroll”.
The release of “Lifted in Sound” marks another milestone in the careers of Rod Carrillo and Ron Carroll. The track, with its blend of soulful vocals and house rhythms, is a testament to the duo’s ability to create music that connects with audiences. As they continue to explore new collaborations and push the boundaries of their sound, “Lifted in Sound” stands as a significant addition to their discography.

Looking ahead, both Carrillo and Carroll plan to continue their collaboration while also pursuing other artistic projects. Carrillo has recently completed an album with Rosabel and is working on projects with emerging artists. Carroll, meanwhile, is collaborating with other prominent figures in the industry, such as Hot Since 82 and Milk & Sugar. Both artists are committed to evolving their sound without conforming to trends, staying true to their roots in house music.

Electronic music also scored a gold this time in France, from the hand of two beloved locals.
French Electronic duo and Dance icon Justice closed the largest sports event in style this time, as they provided an extended eighteen-minute musical spectacle at the closing ceremony of the Paris Olympics on Sunday evening. A collection of their most celebrated tracks, including ‘Genesis‘, ‘Love S.O.S.‘, and ‘The End‘, formed the soundtrack as the 2024 Olympic athletes made their final entrance into the Stade de France and the Olympic flame was passed to the next host city, Los Angeles.
‘The End‘, a collaboration with Thundercat, is a standout track from the duo’s latest album — and comeback piece —, Hyperdrama, released in April of this year. Marking their return to the scene after an eight-year hiatus, the LP was received with praise and all-round positive reviews. Following their debut at Coachella in April, Justice have embarked on a worldwide tour, culminating in a headline performance at London’s Field Day later this month, on 24 August to be precise.
The Ceremony
The Olympic closing ceremony, masterminded by artistic director Thomas Jolly, showcased a captivating array of French musical talent. Alongside Justice, the event featured the infectious rhythms of Electro Pop band Phoenix, the ethereal soundscapes of Air, and the innovative beats of DJ/producer Kavinsky. Additionally, singer Yseult delivered a powerful rendition of ‘My Way’, originally a French chanson reimagined in English for Frank Sinatra.
Following the line of the French half of the ceremony, the handover to the forthcoming Olympic host city, Los Angeles, featured performances from iconic American artists. Red Hot Chili Peppers, Billie Eilish, and Snoop Dogg took to the stage, embodying the spirit of California. The handover ceremony reached its climax with quite the moment, as actor Tom Cruise made a dramatic entrance, descending into the Stade de France by rappel and subsequently making a daring escape with the Olympic flag on a motorcycle.
Have a look at the highlights of the ceremony, and witness Justice’s off-screen marvel, right below. Are you a producer and you’d like to see your tracks on our page? It turns out tons of viewers only knew "Nightcall" as "that song Ryan Gosling listens to in Drive.
During the closing ceremony at the Paris 2024 Summer Olympics, the French rock band Phoenix welcomed Kavinsky onstage for a performance of his seminal 2010 song "Nightcall" alongside AngĂšle. While the track never reached the top of the charts, its inclusion in the cult classic film Drive propelled it into mainstream consciousness back in 2011.
The timeless track is now breaking Shazam records after leading the charge of the most Shazamed minute in the app's history, an Apple representative tells EDM.com. Apple acquired the music identification app in September 2018 for an estimated $400 million.
"Nightcall" also broke the record for the most Shazamed song in a single day, per Apple. France, Mexico and the US were the top three countries searching for the track during the closing ceremony. It beat out Phoenix's "Lisztomania" and "If I Ever Feel Better," which also experienced a swell of searches in the same period.
The previous holder of that record did not hold the title for very long. Interestingly enough, the most Shazamed song in a single day prior was Cerrone's "Supernature," which happened during the Paris 2024 Olympics opening ceremony on July 26th.
You can check out the full performance of "Nightcall" by Kavinsky, Phoenix and AngĂšle below.

It turns out begging Porter Robinson to return to his Worlds-era sound works after all—it just took a decade.
In honor of the tenth anniversary of Robinson's breakout album, he has unearthed and released a track that didn't make the cut back in 2014. Weeks after the release of his third album SMILE! :D, Robinson shared a tweet from 2020 revealing that he tried to include an additional interlude on Worlds, but didn't submit the track in time. He's now delivered "Hollowheart," a new collaboration with Amy Millan, who also appears on the album's opening track, "Divinity."
"Hollowheart" begins slowly with gentle, organic production layered beneath Millan's vocals, which are distorted in a way that sounds like they're coming from an old video game console. After some dramatic piano strikes, angelic strings come through without the retro distortion of the rest of the track, making them sound crystalline and pure.

Seeing as the song was expected to be included on the tracklist over a decade ago, Robinson told a fan he can't remember where he initially placed it in the Worlds tracklist but if he were arranging it today, it would be nestled between "Fresh Static Snow" and "Polygon Dust."
In addition to the release of "Hollowheart," Robinson revealed two new vinyl pressings for fans to purchase. The first is a "10th Anniversary" edition of Worlds on a holographic vinyl and the other is a purple vinyl with the sounds of the album's bespoke live show from the debut of Second Sky Festival back in 2019.
Porter Robinson's Worlds 10th Anniversary and Worlds Live vinyl are available for pre-order here.

In the quiet spaces where memories linger and emotions softly entwine, Ben Böhmer’s latest single, "Rust," emerges as a tender embrace.
Böhmer's latest gem from his forthcoming album Bloom envelops us in a world where every note feels like a gentle caress, every rhythm a heartbeat close to the skin. As the latest single from his forthcoming album, "Rust" stands as a poignant counterpoint to the bold strides of Böhmer's recent releases, "Hiding" featuring Lykke Li and "Best Life" with JONAH. While those tracks charted new territories for Böhmer, "Rust" brings him back to the comforting embrace of the sound that first captivated his fans.
Opening with mellow, understated rhythms that pulse like a distant memory, "Rust" slowly unfurls with a grace that feels both fragile and profound. Dusting shakers flutter in the background, their subtle presence like whispers on the wind as Böhmer's use of bright, warm synths creates an atmosphere of soft light. Meanwhile, the lyrics, playful yet introspective, explore the longing for touch and the deep-seated need for connection—a theme that resonates throughout what we've come to know of the album thus far.
En evocative journey, "Rust" marks a return to the sound that brought him to international acclaim, but it also hints at the broader, more expansive palette he has in store with Bloom. Fans will soon be able to hear the full album for themselves on September 27th, but in the meantime, check out "Rust" below.

What was meant to be a creative collaboration under the Balearic sun turned into a nightmare for Clean Bandit.
The British dance music trio was in Ibiza filming a music video for their new single "Cry Baby," a collaboration with David Guetta and Anne-Marie, when their celebration was cut abruptly short. While the group was out to dinner, thieves reportedly broke into Clean Bandit's hotel room and stole laptops, cameras and cash totaling €40,000 before crowbarring the room's window to make their escape. The robbery left the band not only devastated but also fearful of staying in the same location overnight, per The Sun.
Luckily, the footage for "Cry Baby" had already been safely transported back to London. However, the stolen gear and cash still represent a significant loss for the band, who are now hoping to recoup some of the damages through insurance.
Unfortunately, Clean Bandit’s experience is not an isolated incident on the White Isle. Just a few months earlier, fellow British DJ and producer Franky Wah also fell victim to thieves during his own Ibiza residency. His entire music collection, including a laptop loaded with unreleased music, was stolen from his car. Despite offering a reward and rallying the support of fans and fellow artists like Carl Cox, Wah has yet to recover his belongings.
The rise in such thefts is a sobering reminder of the risks artists face, even in places as idyllic as Ibiza. For Clean Bandit, the experience has been a costly interruption ahead of their new album, their first in six years, set for release in 2025. Still, the group remains undeterred, channeling their energy into more new music.

Australian artist Harry Suttor, aka Late Night Therapy, is back with RELAX, a single that says it all.
If you hear closely, you’ll notice that the sounds are warm and clear, but also organic. This is because the entire elements of the tune, from the percussions to the vocals, have been recorded live. Not a single sound is electronically generated through some sort of DAW or plugin. Everything is natural!
This willingness to pursue the “real sound” is something we didn’t expect in 2024, but we really endorse it. Bringing the music creation back to humans is something we really think of.
RELAX starts with an organic and tribal beat. The chill harmonies create a strong vibe of well-being and comfort. The tune introduces strong piano lines and eclectic melodies for an incredible mix of emotions.
Late Night Terapy’s RELAX is out now. Have a listen to Late Night Terapy’s latest singles like When you’re gone and Spinning as well.
