  1. Heralded as the world’s most international house and techno festival brand, ULTRA Worldwide’s esteemed underground series RESISTANCE stands at the forefront of innovation in the global underground music scene, bringing its visionary programming to more than 35 cities across all six inhabited continents—spanning stadium stages, international tours, and award-winning residencies. Now, RESISTANCE announces its triumphant return to the White Isle this summer for RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025, reclaiming its status as a defining force in Ibiza nightlife with a nine-week residency at the world-famous Amnesia Ibiza, which remains as a haven for those who seek authentic clubbing. Running every Wednesday from July 23 through September 17, 2025, RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025 will be anchored by Season Residents Adam Beyer and ARTBAT, who will deliver weekly headlining performances, rotating between Amnesia’s immersive Main Room and emblematic sky-roof Terrace—ensuring each night stands as its own distinct sonic voyage. Both Adam Beyer and ARTBAT have become fixtures across RESISTANCE’s international stages; headlining events in far-flung cities like Seoul, Split, Tokyo, and Santiago, commanding the decks of Ultra Music Festival’s iconic RESISTANCE MegaStructure, and selling out shows at RESISTANCE Miami‘s M2 residency. RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025 will deliver its signature blend of cutting-edge programming, state-of-the-art production, and immersive audiovisual experiences – the same elements that earned the residency DJ Awards’ coveted ‘Best Ibiza Night’ 2018 accolade. In 2017, RESISTANCE launched its first-ever club residency at the world’s largest nightclub, Privilege Ibiza, quickly establishing itself as a cornerstone of the island’s nightlife. Over three banner seasons, RESISTANCE Ibiza orchestrated a series of never-before-seen, “you-had-to-be-there” moments in house and techno history. Highlights include the global-debut B2B set from techno titans Carl Cox and Maceo Plex, as well as the first-ever B3B performance from Nicole Moudaber, Dubfire, and Paco Osuna, whose marathon set during the 2017 Season Closing Party instantly became a defining moment in RESISTANCE lore. RESISTANCE Ibiza also lays claim to reuniting the legendary duo of Sasha and John Digweed for an exclusive 2017 season residency. This partnership marked the pair’s first Ibiza appearances together since 2009, and their first club residency in more than 15 years—a momentous return to form not seen since their fabled tenure at Twilo New York ended in 2001. In 2023, ULTRA Worldwide unveiled its debut U.S. club residency – RESISTANCE Miami– in the festival’s Miami Beach hometown at nightlife haven M2 Miami, transporting RESISTANCE’s signature immersive clubbing experience from Ibiza to America for the very first time. Now in its acclaimed second season, RESISTANCE Miami’s six-month, Saturday night residency has become a staple of the city’s house and techno culture, notching more than 30 sold-out shows, and showcasing headlining performances from underground luminaries like Boris Brejcha, Carl Cox, Eric Prydz, Charlotte de Witte, CamelPhat, Joris Voorn, Mind Against, and Amelie Lens. The 2025 Ibiza residency brings the story full circle as RESISTANCE debuts at Amnesia—the venue that hosted ULTRA Worldwide’s first Ibiza event in 2007. A momentous reunion nearly 20 years in the making, RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025 will transform Amnesia’s hallowed architecture into multisensory spectacles all season long, showcasing the large-scale productions, top-of-the-line visual design, and transcendent soundscapes that have come to define the RESISTANCE brand globally. Today’s RESISTANCE Ibiza 2025 announcement also marks the launch of RESISTANCE’s revolutionary, yearlong global club residency program, creating an unprecedented circuit of clubbing experiences from Miami to the Mediterranean. This first-of-its-kind format bridges RESISTANCE’s acclaimed U.S. club presence in Ultra’s hometown of Miami Beach, with its award-winning Ibiza residency, merging two of dance music’s most iconic destinations into a singular, transcontinental movement. 2. When two globally revered superstars like DJ Diesel and Virtual Riot team up, a festival anthem is sure to be made. That's surely the case with their new collaboration, "Damage." Before a pair of roaring drum & bass drops, the track begins with a deceivingly benign guitar solo, which ushers in lively rap lyricism by Shaq. The arrangement showcases both producers' signatures while still paying homage to their dubstep sensibilities in the final drop. "Damage" arrives just days before "Shaq's Fun House," which features a stacked lineup of John Summit, Ludacris and the NBA legend's own son, Myles O'Neal. The event is scheduled for February 7th in New Orleans right before the Super Bowl. Meanwhile, Virtual Riot, the Stealing Fire producer, is set to head over to the West Coast for a landmark concert at LA's Shrine Auditorium & Expo Hall, the biggest headlining show of his career so far. 10. Charlie Powell has come to represent upbeat rhythms and limitless excitement as the voice of Capital Dance’s main breakfast show, which wakes thousands of listeners all throughout the UK every day. But this is the story of a DJ whose path from teenage bedroom mixers to commanding festival stages has resulted in her much-awaited first LP, Act A Fool, not just another narrative about a radio personality. Act A Fool, which was released on Toolroom Records, one of the most esteemed labels in electronic music, is a statement rather than merely a song. Powell’s place not only as a tastemaker but also as a creator inside the genre she loves so profoundly thanks to its sensuous grooves, vintage synth stabs, and vocal hook full of attitude. Let us explore what makes this release—along with the woman behind it—so unique. What then distinguishes Act A Fool exactly? The track takes little time from first gaining to gaining. The bassline from the first bars welcomes listeners with a new yet rooted bumpiness. The vintage stabs recall humid bases and joyful events under strobes, harking back to the golden years of club culture. The vocal sample, a feisty, character-filled hook that gives the music layers of personality, is the actual star of the show though. The encouragement of dancers to let go and embrace their inner wild side is lighthearted yet forceful. 11. Few collaborations in electronic music carry the weight of Monstercat and Hospital Records joining forces. The two label juggernauts have spent years defining and expanding the boundaries of drum & bass, especially the legendary Hospital Records, a cornerstone of the UK scene since 1996. Now, their debut joint compilation sets a bold new precedent for cross-continental creativity in the genre. Born from an intensive four-day writing camp at London’s TYX Studios, the compilation is a high-voltage showcase of styles from liquid soul to warehouse-shaking neurofunk. Each track has been crafted by a collective dream team of Monstercat and Hospital signees. The rollout began with daily single releases, each revealing a new sonic dimension. The week started with "What Are We Proving" by hayve and DRIIA, who open the compilation with a slow-burning, emotionally charged odyssey. DRIIA's poignant lyrics melt into hayve’s swelling basslines, delivering a track that pulses with introspection and raw energy. DNMO and SOLAH's "Find Peace" follows, its vintage keys and crisp drums weaving through the latter's soul-drenched vocals. On the heavier end of the spectrum, "IDGAF" by Anaïs and hayve roars with razor-sharp sound design and unrelenting bass. Meanwhile, "Starchild" by Bensley, BOP and Degs blends celestial soundscapes with rapid-fire lyricism to administer a dose of euphoria wrapped in rhythmic precision. 13. Few producers can say as much with three tracks as Max Styler does on Don't Stop, a captivating new EP that wastes not a single second. Out now via Diynamic Music, the EP bridges the gap between technical excellence and pure physical impulse. Across these three tracks, the surging DJ and producer demonstrates his ability to craft house music that's both functionally powerful and artistically compelling. Its opening cut, "Let' Em' Know," sets the tone with a tech house framework that's elevated by acidic bass that slithers through the mix. The production is crisp and commanding, with each element given room to breathe while still forming a unified groove that's impossible to resist. The titular "Don't Stop" lives up to its name, providing an insistent call to movement that works its magic through expertly curated vocal samples and a bassline that refuses to relent. It's the kind of track that DJs will reach for when they need to maintain peak energy without overwhelming the dancefloor. But it's the closing track, "Inferno," that stands as the EP's crowning achievement. It builds tension through operatic vocal fragments that slink ghostlike through a propulsive beat. When the lyric "I feel the temperature rising" enters, it acts as both a warning and a promise—Styler eventually delivers on that mounting pressure with a sweat-soaked house drop. 15. Labels like Insomniac’s Interstellar Recordings are leading the front stage as the dance music scene develops, stretching limits and displaying skill that crosses nostalgia with the invention. Two particularly noteworthy releases this month from the imprint are Jerro‘s emotionally driven “In Your Eyes” with FARLEY and Rinzen & SOHMI‘s hypnotic house anthem “Stay.” Both songs show what makes contemporary electronic music so appealing: an unquestionable link to the human experience, eternal grooves, and soundscape storytelling. Let’s explore the reasons for their global playlist kindling and heart-captivating ability. Jerro x FARLEY Deliver A Dreamy Ode to Inspiration in “In Your Eyes” Belgian producer Jerro is not new to creating cinematic adventures in his work. Renowned for fusing melodic house elements with progressive ones, he has established himself as among the most compelling storytellers in the genre. His most recent single, “In Your Eyes,” is his first on Interstellar Recordings and returns him to his signature vocal-driven works. For this track, Jerro collaborates with up-and-coming singer-songwriter FARLEY, whose ethereal voice gives the production poignancy. Thus, the outcome is a rich, expressive work that is both quite personal and broadly relevant. FARLEY’s vocals soar as brilliant pads swell along sweeping strings and thudding kicks, creating rich pictures of love and inspiration. I’m feeling super stoked to release my first track on Interstellar! I have had the pleasure of playing Insomniac festivals, and I have always been so impressed with the level of creativity. So, I’m excited to have the chance to release a track under their umbrella and be a part of this amazing culture they’ve created in dance music… And this track feels like a perfect fit; it is an emotional and nostalgic track that epitomizes dance music culture. – Jerro Rinzen & SOHMI Drop Hypnotic Grooves Meet Old-School Vibes in “Stay” Magic results when Rinzen and SOHMI combine together. Known for their unique but complementary approaches, the pres old-school house energy in their most recent track, “Stay,” adds a modern touch. Published by Interstellar Recordings, the song embodies both early-morning sunrises and late-night dancefloors. Celebrated for his melodic and story-driven works, Rinzen adds cinematic complexity. Having released on esteemed labels such as mau5trap, Bedrock, and Last Night on Earth, his unequaled ability to create immersive stories using sound Rising sensation in the underground house scene SOH MI is known for her sensual voice and deep, funky productions. Taken together, they produce an irresistible synergy. Listeners are surrounded in warm synths, sharp percussion, and captivating vocal melodies from the first instant “Stay” starts. Before exploding into waves of pure grooves, the music locks into an irresistible pattern that builds methodically to generate expectation. DJs will search for this kind of record to maintain the crowd’s attention while yet allowing the energy to flow without stopping. 18. The weightless melancholy of "CHIHIRO" has found new depth in the skilled hands of Black Coffee, who today released an official remix of Billie Eilish's Platinum hit. "CHIHIRO" appeared on the pop superstar's third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Where Eilish's original exudes eerie intimacy, Black Coffee stretches it into something vast and cinematic. Black Coffee's rendition is a masterclass in remixing, respecting the source material while creating something entirely new that resonates with his fans. The South African dance music icon's signature Afro-house grooves engage in a mesmerizing dialogue with Eilish's quavering falsettos, giving them a haunting new undercurrent. With distant, curious piano keys drifting through the mix like ghosts, his production is spacious yet intentional. Each element is delicately placed to honor Eilish's lyrics, enhancing their sense of longing. Black Coffee's remix of "CHIHIRO" is streaming exclusively on YouTube and SoundCloud at the time of this writing. Watch the official music video below. 19. Driven by his relentless sonic evolution and ventures into EBM-inspired sounds, Techno giant Adam Beyer continues his sonic mastery with his latest two-track EP, Do It For The Bass, set to release on February 7th via his iconic Drumcode label. Ahead of the full EP, the track ‘Circus Freaks’ will be available for streaming starting January 31st. Listen here. This release offers fans a winter boost, bridging the gap between Beyer’s recent remix of Romina Dez and Muter’s 2022 hit Fascination (out January 17th on Tronic) and his massive 2025 performances, including Drumcode London at Drumsheds on March 22nd, as well as appearances at Time Warp and Kappa Futurfestival. The title track, Do It For The Bass, is a commanding techno anthem with a driving kick drum and rattling hi-hats that build around a two-note riff reminiscent of a stylized police siren. This motif grows heavier with reverb, layered with a distorted female vocal delivering robotic rhymes, while the deep bassline reverberates with visceral intensity. The result is hypnotic, addictive, and irresistibly catchy. Circus Freaks hooks listeners immediately with its dark, resonant bass and pulsating riff, crafted from what seems like processed radio chatter turned into synth tones. A processed male vocal and intensifying drums lead to a dramatic drop infused with atmospheric reverb and a haunting high-pitched melody. As fragmented patterns and eerie melodies weave in and out, the track creates a dystopian, unsettling vibe that captivates the mind and ears. Listen here. Fresh off the success of his third studio album PULSE, Gryffin’s new track ‘In My Head’ marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career. This release follows his incredible 2024, which featured high-profile collaborations with Armin van Buuren, John Newman, Rita Ora, and more. 23. Generations of dance music excellence converge in "In My Head," a long-awaited collaboration between Kaskade, and Gryffin. Released via 10K Projects, the track is a shimmering fusion of their respective sounds, seamlessly blending ethereal chord progressions with deep, emotive grooves. "In My Head" unfolds in a slow burn, its opening pads blooming as the tension builds. Gated tremolo synths then flutter into focus like a breaking wave, driving yet dreamlike. At the center of it is Nu-La, whose voice sails through the mix with a commanding presence. The UK vocalist, known for her standout contributions to CamelPhat’s "Oblivion" and CHANEY’s "Love Again," delivers while carrying the emotional weight of the track as it swells toward its euphoric peak. The synergy between Kaskade and Gryffin, two artists cut from a similar sonic fabric, was seemingly inevitable. "In My Head" stands as a validating moment of alignment between two of dance music's biggest hitmakers. “Kaskade has been one of my biggest idols since I first got into dance music," Gryffin said. "I’ve had the pleasure of playing on shows and developing a friendship, but now I couldn’t be more excited to finally have a collaboration with him. 'In My Head' feels like a perfect collab between us, as it represents both our styles coming together.' "I've known Gryffin for years, including having him perform at Sun Soaked in 2017," Kaskade added. "With our shared San Francisco roots and West Coast base, this collaboration was long overdue but came at just the right moment. 'In My Head’' is a piece of music that shows both of our strengths, and his classical music training brought a fresh perspective to the process. We've created a track with the kind of warm, singalong energy perfect for getting through the winter months." You can find "In My Head" on streaming services here. 24. Stefan Engblom, one-half of the influential Swedish EDM duo Dada Life, has successfully undergone a liver transplant after battling a rare liver disease, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis. The chronic condition, which affects the bile ducts and can lead to liver failure, had forced Engblom to step away from touring as he awaited a donor liver. The DJ shared the severity of his condition in a heartfelt message to fans prior to the surgery, describing undergoing seven procedures over the past 18 months, the last two of which resulted in pancreatitis and sepsis. Placed on Sweden's liver transplant waiting list, Engblom was required to stay within an hour of Stockholm in case a suitable donor became available. "When the call comes, I need to go to the hospital and go into surgery to get the new liver," he explained back in November. "After the transplant, the first three months are critical as my immune system will be heavily suppressed so my body doesn’t reject the new liver." Engblom this week announced that his transplant surgery went "amazing" and the liver was a "great match." Now on the road to recovery, he will be taking a hiatus from touring for at least two years. Dada Life, known for their high-energy performances and banana-fueled antics, have yet to announce plans for future shows but fans can expect updates as Engblom continues his recovery. Engblom in 2023 climbed Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas, which is situated within the vast Andes mountain range at a summit elevation of 22,838 feet. He suffered from Acute Mountain Sickness, a condition caused by reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes, he told EDM.com at the time.
