  1. Steve Angello and Modern Tales have joined forces for a new single, "Darkness In Me," just in time for Valentine's Day. No stranger to high-profile collaborations with stars like Pharrell, The Weeknd and Alicia Keys, the Swedish House Mafia member instead showcased a rising act from his home country, Modern Tales, a duo comprising Jonas Rathsman and Francis Novotny. The result is "Darkness In Me," a bouncy track filled with themes of temptation. An angelic introduction gives way to a steady beat rich with minimal, arpeggiated synths. The track's sharp cuts, lyrical delivery and razor-edged production give it a nostalgic house feel, and the final result is a surefire dancefloor anthem. "Darkness In Me" is the first solo release of the year from Angello and its release follows last October's festival anthem "Hooligans." A month after that, he revealed that Swedish House Mafia had scrapped an entire album's worth of music which was planned as a follow-up to 2022's long-awaited debut album, Paradise Again. "Darkness In Me" is out now via Astralwerks. You can watch the official video below and stream the new single here. 2. Last month, millions of TikTok account users in the United States had one of their most memorable (and for some, forgettable) experiences when their beloved app shut down for several hours. The app shutdown, which occured on the night of January 18th, lasted for about half a day before users could finally log onto it again. However, for many TikTok users who already deleted their app (and not offloaded the app data instead so that they can still easily log back in), they could not reinstall the app due to it not being available on the Apple App and Google Play stores. Fast forward to the present day, TikTok has finally makes its anticipated return to those app stores. The return of Tiktok to the Apple App and Google Play stores sent shockwaves According to an article from Bloomberg about the breaking news, U.S. Attorney General Pam Bondi assured Apple in a letter that the company would not face fines under the current administration, following a TikTok ban that threatened significant penalties for app downloads after January 19. As a result, that is why both Apple and Google removed TikTok from their respective app stores. However, ByteDance managed to offer a sideloadable version of the app for iPhone and Android users. The return of TikTok to Apple’s App Store raises questions about the viability of the ban, especially since iOS is the most popular mobile platform in the U.S. currently. According to data from the app analytics firm Sensor Tower, approximately 52% of TikTok downloads last year originated from the Apple App Store, while Google Play accounted for the remaining 48%. This indicates that the platform is has a strong balance of representation among both iOS and Android users. The search for a potential U.S. buyer is still ongoing President Trump has suggested the possibility of extending the 75-day deadline for finding a U.S. buyer for TikTok but sees no immediate need to do so. He has assigned Vice President J.D. Vance and National Security Adviser Michael Waltz to oversee the sale process, with a growing list of potential buyers expressing interest. President Trump also indicated that TikTok could play a role in creating a U.S. sovereign wealth fund. With TikTok available for download again, the urgency surrounding its status seems to have diminished significantly. 4. An Italian coastal airport is betting big that the future of electronic music festivals lies in the distant past. Electronic music festivals keep pushing for more ambitious venues, but Italy's newest entry might take the crown: a functioning airport once home to an ancient Roman temple. The brand-new Adriatic Sound Festival is debuting in June 2025 at Fano Airport, formerly known as Fanum Fortunae. The two-day festival is being "conceived as a temporary city," according to a press release shared with EDM.com. Its organizers plan to merge Roman history with cutting-edge stage design from the renowned architecture firm STUFISH. In the past year alone, the company has designed groundbreaking productions for the Rolling Stones' "Hackney Diamonds" tour, Adele's acclaimed residencies in Las Vegas and Munich, and Sabrina Carpenter’s "Short & Sweet" tour. Their latest triumph is Adriatic Sound, where they're debuting an innovative stage. The Temple Stage concept features a rotating 360° central platform where DJs perform inside a massive drum structure, surrounded by four grandstands arranged in a coliseum-style layout. A luminous halo structure above will react with the music to create a multi-sensory experience. STUFISH Entertainment Architects Elsewhere at the festival will be the Infinity Stage, which takes cues from Fano's 2,000-year-old Arch of Augustus, a historic gateway built around 27 BC. The stage, STUFISH says, draws inspiration "from fundamental architectural forms, reinterpreted through a bold, futuristic lens." The inaugural Adriatic Sound lineup includes pioneering producers Sven Väth and Armand Van Helden, with more to be announced in the weeks ahead. Adriatic Sound Festival is scheduled for June 13-14, 2025. You can find out more information here.

  6. After a cold weekend, we have finally warmed up enough to circle back and honor a true showcase. Excision’s Thunderdome returned to the Tacoma Dome in Seattle for a joyous and feisty weekend. Three nights of pure Bass music gave us enough to release our rage onto the dancefloor. Let’s relive the best moments of the weekend. Thunderdome’s Production Lasers after lasers, our eyes are still recovering from such a spectacle. Excision does it again with an incredible set design and production team. With flawless and new visuals, each night felt like a different show. Not only did he deliver three different sets each night, but each DJ delivered incredible visuals on top of all the filthy drops. Security and the Tacoma crew worked harmoniously to keep attendees safe and protected. Security was streamlined and simple. Moreover, there is a very interesting approach to alcohol consumption at the dome. There were two bars located in the back of the dancefloor, where you were only allowed to purchase two drinks per person per night. Furthermore, you must drink them in the designated area, and can’t bring any alcohol onto the dancefloor. This might sound overbearing, but logistically, it ran smoothly, and it helped having less trash around. Lineup Highlights How do you compliment an absolutely amazing production? Naturally, with a lineup that is just as filthy. This year we had many first timers to the Thunderdome, including Alleycvt, Levity, and Hedex. We saw incredible sets by Space Laces, Drinkurwater b2b Benda, Emorfik, and Bass Legend Flux Pavillion. Top sets include Peekaboo, Levity, Alleycvt, and of course the ringleader Excision. The surprise b2b started with fan favorite Wooli, involving fun and dynamic visuals. The mammoth, which represents Wooli, and a big struggle for power against the dinosaur, Excision. But wait, there was more to it. Halfway through their performance, a new challenger rose from the ashes. Illenium completed the b3b, including visuals with his legendary symbol, the phoenix. Did you guess the surprise guests this time around? Conclusion After three nights of top-notch entertainment, with one of the best productions of the year, we can truly attest to Excision’s power to entertain his audience for three days and provide fresh and clear ideas. We can’t wait to return to the Thunderdome soon. This is just the beginning. Excision will host Bass Canyon and Lost Lands once more. In addition, he announced a residency at the XS Nightclub in Las Vegas this summer. Until then, headbang away! 9. Have some tissues nearby, this song is just that pretty. Beautiful things happened this week regarding the corner of Dance music I’m all for: songs with a soul, with a purpose, with a meaning that lies beyond the melodies. And in that same line we’re happy to share yet another nugget of bliss that saw the light recently: ‘Believe In Me‘, a collaboration between the wise BiXX and the unmistakable Susana. Alabama-bound BiXX (Robert Bickert) is a rising star in the Uplifting Trance scene. We spoke with this DJ, producer, mentor, and entrepreneur last year, and we’re happy to have his sound back again on EDMTunes. And Susana, well, Susana… you absolutely know who she is. Armin van Buuren’s ‘Shivers‘? She voiced that classic. RAM’s ‘RAMelia‘? It was her who made you cry to that tribute. She really needs no introduction, for she is one of the most iconic voices of Trance. ‘Believe In Me’ Two masters of the art of music join forces for ‘Believe In Me’, a track out via Black Hole. A heartfelt tribute to the transformative power of belief, support, and self-confidence, it serves as a lead single and offers a glimpse into BiXX’s upcoming album, The Voice of Reason, blending emotive storytelling with uplifting melodies. The collaboration between both is rooted deeply within their personal spaces and experiences. For BiXX, the song began as an introspective journey following his father’s passing in 2023. “My father believed in me before I ever believed in myself“, he says. “That confidence he gave me allowed me to push further and achieve more than I could have imagined“. He then connected with Susana, whose emotional delivery he admired, particularly due to the way ‘Shivers’ marked him. Susana also found a personal connection to the project: “The lyrics came from a conversation BiXX and I had about the importance of people who believe in you. I could immediately relate, thinking about my own parents and how their constant support has shaped my confidence and career“. On a personal note, I want to invite you to listen to this track and think if there’s anyone in your life who you can thank for believing in you. If it’s still possible, connect today and tell them how much their encouragement means to you and who you are today. I know who to thank in my case: my mum. And I will do so today. 10. Feels illegal to have such a nostalgia trip of a release out in this day and age. Maybe the return of Trance (proper Trance, mind you) has gone slightly unnoticed here and there. Yes, Calvin Harris released ‘Miracle’ some time ago, and yes, Peggy Gou’s stellar hit was a clever nod to ATB’s all-time classic, but not much else, maybe? Well, I’m here to say I’ve been noticing this rise, and it seems like 2025 will be its year. High-calibre artists all over are doing wonders for the genre which once ruled the world. And today is one of those cases. When you see Ben Gold as the first artist in a song, you know it’s going to have superior quality, that’s undeniable. Now, pair that with the fact that for today’s release, ‘The Whip‘, you can also see five-man supergroup SUPERSTRINGS credited as artists. Now you know you’re in for some serious walk down Memory Lane. ‘The Whip’ Some may be fans of SUPERSTRINGS’ from-the-past sound, with multiple winks to the golden era of Trance, while others may have been at Ben Gold’s ASOT ADE set at the HQ club and fell in love with the journey he played. Whatever motorway took you to this track, you’re most likely going to be delighted at the warm sound it carries. Yesteryear plucks play alongside forward-moving robotic arpeggios, engulfing pads, and that vocal chop lead that always takes you back to Binary Finary. On the percussion roster, we have orchestral hits, standard 909 elements (like the hats), powerful heavy-headed kicks, and a jumpy offbeat bass, which all give the sensation that either we’re not living in the current year, or that 2025 is going to be a beautiful time, where songs with a soul will be back, at long last. Listen to Ben Gold and SUPERSTRINGS‘ brand-new-yet-so-comfortably-old ‘The Whip’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below. Also, click here to support the release on your platform of choice. Be sure to follow our page to stay up to date on the latest news and views regarding our beloved Dance music industry. 11. Jedi and Sith alike are invited to feel the force together on the dancefloor at a new series of Star Wars-themed raves. The organizers of "STAR RAVE," I3C Event Concepts and DEF ALIEN RECORDINGS, promise live electronic music alongside "movie-quality costumed characters, light saber glow sticks, massive LED screens featuring remixed edits from the Star Wars extended cinematic universe." In addition to the costumed actors, there will be a costume contest to encourage concertgoers to break out their best cosplay. The raves will be powered by DICE, with whom organizers partnered to handle ticketing operations. "We are ecstatic to partner with DICE, a brand synonymous with innovation and excellence in live entertainment," ROS, Founding Partner of I3C and DEF ALIEN I/O, tells EDM.com. "This collaboration marks a new era for this show, amplifying its reach and enriching the fan experience. Attendees all express the joy of stepping into a curated, sci-fi world filled with amazing music and well-thought-out visuals." The debut entry in the series was hosted in Atlanta, Georgia late last year. A YouTube video they shared shows plenty of cosplayers getting down to electronic remixes of Star Wars music, flanked by decorations inspired by the most iconic sci-fi franchise on this planet. At the time of this writing, STAR RAVE is slated to conquer a number of cities across the galaxy, including Atlanta, Brooklyn, Jacksonville and Houston. While fans shouldn't expect festival circuit headliners, organizers have promised their DJs will play everything from tech house to riddim. STAR RAVE will return on February 22nd, 2025 at the appropriately-named Emperor's Warehouse in Tampa. You can learn more about the series and purchase tickets here.
  12. Words by Alex Lambeau and Zach Salafia Henri Bergmann, Monophase & Be No Rain – Cheating Heart Henri Bergmann and Monophase unveil “Cheating Heart” – a hauntingly beautiful love song – just in time for Valentine’s Day. 13. With a remarkable 30-year career, Ray Keith is rightly celebrated as the godfather of jungle and drum & bass, earning legendary status within the scene. Known for an extensive list of pseudonyms, including Dark Soldier, Renegade, and London’s Most Wanted, he is the mastermind behind Dread Recordings and has played a vital role in shaping the genre during its transition from the acid house and hardcore explosion of the late ’80s and early ’90s. Starting out as a rare groove, soul, and funk DJ in the mid-’80s, Ray Keith has become a staple name in the jungle and drum and bass scene, honouring the roots of Black British music. After remixing Orbital’s “Chime” in 1990, he produced the rave anthem “Terrorist,” released under his pseudonym Renegade on the iconic Moving Shadow label in 1994. This track has since become one of the most recognisable and influential jungle tunes of all time. To celebrate 30 years of pioneering jungle and drum and bass, Ray Keith is hosting a Ray Keith Live show at Jazz Cafe in LDN on May 24. Fans can look forward to timeless tracks from his catalogue—both past and present—infused with influences from rare groove, acid house, reggae, and soul. This event is not just a tribute to his remarkable legacy, but a once-in-a-lifetime experience to witness these iconic tunes through a live musical performance—a night that can’t be missed! Tickets Here We are joined by Ray Keith to share exclusive insights into The Renegade Live as he reflects on his decades-long career, delving into his musical upbringing and the evolution of his sound. Together, we’ll explore the significance of authenticity and integrity in an ever-changing music industry as he continues to rebel against its exploitation and commercialism. Let’s start by saying that you’ve had an incredible 30-year career as a pioneer of the jungle scene. How do you feel that the scene has evolved since you first started? I’m humbled to have such a loyal fan base and hope my tunes will still be playing in 30 years. However, having grown up surrounded by music, I now feel much of it is throwaway or expendable—what I call “karaoke jungle.” I worry about the future of the music. There’s a side to it that I don’t really like—the loss of soul, which I see as the destruction of the art form. Sometimes, it feels like just noise, and it pains me to witness the art of DJing diminishing. It’s heartbreaking, especially as someone who has helped shape this sound over the decades. It shouldn’t matter your colour, gender, or race; being a great DJ is about skill and passion. Our scene is different from the commercial scene, we’ve dedicated our lives to this, often overcoming addiction and challenging backgrounds, and they need us because we bring the heritage. I’m a purist and firmly underground—I’m no sellout. When you come to my live shows, that’s what you’ll experience. What about your musical upbringing? Any producer will tell you that your heritage shapes your sound—Motown, The Jacksons, Diana Ross, and The Sensations are foundational influences of mine. I was a soul, rare groove, and jazz DJ, and I delved into hip-hop and house long before jungle came along. DJing has always been a huge part of my life; I’ve been on the decks since I was 12 and became a professional DJ at 18. It’s been an incredible journey, and I’ve dedicated my whole life to black music. The other night in Manchester, I played a mashup of Bee Gee’s “Stayin’ Alive” because that’s what I was brought up on—those are the tunes we grew up with. At the end of the day, we’re DJs, and we aim to transfer our skills across different genres, whether it’s hip-hop or jazz; it’s all deeply rooted in us, like there are different ingredients that contribute to our sound. Speaking of that, jungle and sound system culture is deeply intertwined with UK multiculturalism and the legacy of the Windrush generation. How do you see this culture evolving today, and how can we preserve its roots and history? Every DJ has a responsibility to honour the roots of the music they play. I pay homage to the original hip-hop and house scenes, as well as artists like Bobby Byrd, Lyn Collins, Luther Vandross, and Dexter Wansel. It’s crucial to understand where the music comes from; you can’t move forward without knowing your history. If you’re diving into genres like jungle or drum & bass, dig deep into the records and appreciate their true spirit. It’s disheartening to see a lot of what’s played today not reflecting the original sounds. Radio One, in particular, should represent the true diversity of these genres instead of whitewashing them for commercial gain. I understand there’s a commercial aspect to music, but if something is labelled as jungle or drum & bass, it should truly reflect those genres and stay true to their roots. I’m grateful to perform for audiences who appreciate the integrity of the sound and the culture. While maintaining that integrity might not always pay the bills, it’s what keeps the music alive. It’s about bringing people together—old and new, multicultural—and creating positive energy. You’ve used several aliases throughout your career—London’s Most Wanted, Renegade, Terrorist, and Dark Soldier. What is the story behind adopting these different names, do they reflect different aspects of your musical journey? Absolutely, they do. Growing up, I was definitely a bit of a rebel. I’ve always resisted conformity and dislike being told what to do, especially coming from a background of oppression. That’s shaped my journey, allowing me to carve out a life on my own terms. It can be tough, and yes, it might seem a bit selfish to want to make a living from it, but it’s not easy. I wanted to explore different sounds without too many tracks coming out under the name Ray Keith. Putting music out under London’s Most Wanted or Dark Soldier felt like a natural progression and opened up more opportunities for me. At my core, I’m a soul man through and through. If you listen to “Rare Groove” by Ray Keith, you might not expect it to sound like me, but personally, I consider it one of my best tracks because it’s infused with so much soul. It combines influences from George Benson, soul, rare groove, and jazz while still maintaining that energetic kick. There’s always this balance of light and dark in my music. I’ve managed to reflect both sides in a meaningful way because that’s what black music represents—life-changing experiences that resonate with so many people. Could you take us back to the early days with Dread Recordings, City Sounds, and Blackmarket Records? How significant were record shops in pushing the jungle scene forward? Record shops were our lifeline—they were our MySpace, our Facebook, but in a physical space. I worked at City Sounds for five years before moving to Blackmarket Records in 1990. We were all in it together, cutting plates and sharing music. We grew up as young men and women in our twenties, and let’s be real: what the fuck do you know in your 20s. But we had each other’s backs; we loved and looked after one another. We travelled the world together and we broke records together. Fabio and Grooverider started Rage on Thursdays, and that was a space where we could express ourselves and our music. DJs like Randall and Bay B Kane were part of that scene. It was never about colour or gender; we were all pals—girls and boys together. DJ Rap, Dazee, Kemistry (RIP), Storm and many other amazing DJs that we would share dubplates with, drawing tunes or recording tracks together. What about the raves back in the day? When jungle first started, people were driving all over the country, playing to empty venues, but it was slowly building into a culture, a movement. Growing up in the 90s, it was a working-class scene, and girls weren’t getting hassled in the dances; it was all about love, raving, and looking out for each other. But then the drugs began to creep into the culture. Just look at drum & bass today with the rise of ketamine—it’s become awful. We need a cultural change and some form of support. Awareness is crucial because these drugs are harmful. We must raise these issues: What will happen to the kids using these substances in the next 20 years? Many are already dying from overdoses, especially with fentanyl being mixed in. These conversations are vital. I can’t save the world, but if I can help open up the discussion and use my platform to highlight these concerns, I feel it’s my responsibility to bring this to light. It’s really important. We need soul. So when we perform, I encourage people to put their phones down and really enjoy the moment. Experiencing music live is irreplaceable, and it’s vital to pass this message on to the younger generation. I hear it. Let’s talk about Renegade Live. What inspired your decision to incorporate live instruments into your performances, especially considering that the music originated from electronic production? It’s about capturing the energy of the records. I want the audience to feel that same feeling on stage. With a drummer and a bass player, we blend analog and digital elements, creating a sound that drives the crowd wild. I also want to give a shoutout to my band: Donny on drums, Ben on bass, Mike on keys as our conductor, and Miss Clar, our resident singer. As a producer, I see myself as a conductor, translating my studio skills into a live performance while also playing the keytar to bring that 80s sound into the mix. We created a lot of records back in the day, and those tracks have solidified our legacy. Labels like Metalheadz, V Recordings, and the early days of Hospital Records, along with producers like DJ SS and Bizzy B, shaped our sound. Each of us had a unique style, and we owe so much to legends like Fabio & Grooverider and LTJ Bukem. We’ve lost some incredible artists, including MC Conrad and Fats, and I feel blessed to have been part of that era. This is truly an ode to celebrating their legacy. You have long-standing collaborations with legends like the Ragga Twins and MC Juiceman. Why is it important for you to preserve these connections? We’re always open to welcoming new people to join us, but the crowd goes crazy for them. Juiceman is our guiding force who helps navigate the musical story. The Ragga Twins bring that special energy, and we have some exciting guests lined up that you won’t want to miss. It feels like mini concerts, almost like the Luther Vandross of jungle and drum & bass. We’ve had a lot of successful years, and our music holds a lot of people’s memories. It hits me hard sometimes because we’ve lost so many along the way. I get emotional when I play, remembering all those we’ve lost. Every day we wake up grateful for a breath, for seeing our children, and for the people we love. I stay away from negativity; I’m spiritual and do yoga. For me, music is about trying to be a better version of myself. These are testimonial years, but also a celebration of what we’ve accomplished musically. Playing live with my band, we sold out the Jazz Cafe and performed at Lost Horizon and Boomtown last year—it was fantastic, and the journey continues. I’m also excited to share that I’ve mastered the CD, which will be available soon. Renegade Live at Jazz Café will be available for purchase at our pop-ups, record stores, and on our website as a limited edition. It’s all about celebrating the incredible legends in our scene and creating a vibrant atmosphere every time we perform. After three decades in the scene, what would you say is your proudest achievement in music? I’m incredibly grateful for the last 30 years. Music has kept me out of jail; without it, I would have just rebelled against the system. I can’t stand to see people suffer from discrimination or prejudice. Embracing love and creativity through true abundance is what it’s all about. Every piece of my music carries a part of me, and while I sometimes struggle with the reactions, I’m just a normal guy who loves art and culture. I’ll go to any lengths to perform that art to the best of my ability. We give thanks and love, and we’re forever grateful to be surrounded by all the kings and queens of music. As long as we’re here—shout it from on hilltops and mountains—this music is global now, and we need to take care of it. With all your experience, what’s the biggest piece of advice you’d give to upcoming DJs and producers? Be yourself and live your dreams—don’t let anyone piss on your fire. Create music out of love, not ego, and always stay humble. Appreciate that one person in the audience; I’ve played for just three people before, but I still poured my heart into the performance. When you have a full room, give it your all. Practice, listen, go out, learn, and dedicate your life to it—not just with one toe in. Make sure you’re doing mixes, getting on the radio, securing residencies, and throwing parties. Put in the work. Sustain your passion while taking care of yourself; you don’t have to be broke to be a producer. I work day and night, eat, repeat, sleep, and go again. It’s about balance. Avoid hanging out with enablers, keep your eyes on the prize and stay focused. Also, if you want to DJ, you need to earn your stripes and learn from the original OGs. DJing isn’t just an act; it’s a journey with a beginning, middle, and end. I feel there is too much pressure on the younger generation. With fame comes challenges like money, alcohol, and drugs—these topics need to be addressed. I’m clean and focused, training five days a week, doing yoga, and maintaining my well-being in this challenging industry. Cultivating love is essential, and you must learn to navigate it with honesty, integrity, and your music. I believe I’ve done that for over 30 years. I’m proud of what we’ve achieved and the amazing parties we’ve hosted this year.

  15. Grabbitz and Rezz are no strangers to alchemy, but "Love You Til' I'm Dead" may be their most haunting concoction yet. Aptly released on Valentine's Day via Blue Butterfly Records, the lead single from Grabbitz's forthcoming album BIG EPIC NOTHING takes a daring step away from the duo's usual bass-heavy formula, trading dark, hypnotic drops for raw emotional weight. Grabbitz’s signature, soul-stirring vocals guide the track with an aching intensity while Rezz—typically known for her eerie, bass-laden productions—weaves a brooding atmosphere of tension rather than unleashing full-throttle drops. The result is a track that resonates far beyond the dancefloor, carrying an emotional pull that will hit just as hard for those hopelessly in love as it will for those nursing fresh wounds. "Love You Til' I'm Dead" marks the pair's third collaboration following 2020's "Someone Else" and 2023’s "Signal," but it carves out a space entirely its own. Grabbitz characterized the new single as a "huge creative leap" for the duo. "Having Rezz step in and produce on my album is an honor, and getting more familiar with her taste as a producer has been inspiring," he said in a press release. "Having her wrap her arms around my project has given me confidence that there doesn’t always need to be a 'drop,' good music is good music." 18. On August 28th, 2016, Avicii took the stage for the last time. The performance at Ushuaïa Ibiza is the subject of a Netflix mini-documentary, Avicii - My Last Show, which released alongside the feature-length documentary, I'm Tim. During the show, fans were treated to plenty of Avicii's originals, which have since become some of the most influential tracks in EDM history. Alongside classics like "Levels" and "Wake Me Up," he performed a then-unreleased track called "Forever Yours." Now, it has received a posthumous release nearly nine years later. "Forever Yours (Tim’s 2016 Ibiza Version)" is not to be confused with 2020's "Forever Yours (Tribute)," which saw Kygo and Sandro Cavazza complete the demo in honor of the dance music icon. The "Ibiza Version" out today, produced by Avicii alongside Marcus Thunberg Wessel, is the release of the original collaboration with Cavazza's vocals as seen in the performance footage. This new song follows last month's release of an unearthed recording of Avicii in the studio, sharing some insight into his creative process. Not long before that, fans helped five of his tracks reach the top 10 on Billboard's Dance Digital Song Sales chart following the release of the Netflix documentaries. Avicii's estate also released rare footage of the artist and friends listening to the demo version of the track. You can watch that video below and find the song on streaming platforms here.

From the artist My musical taste is very obscure and schizophrenic I’ll be listening to 145 BPM techno like AIRROD, a minute later to The Doors, and then in half hour to Atarashii Gakko! (a J-Pop group you can’t sleep on, I’m just saying). I’m the same with my auditory taste in dance music ( I hate the term EDM, so I won’t use it). I got introduced to dance music at EDC 2009 when it was still in Los Angeles, and it changed my life. I was a rock and roll and hip-hop head, was into groups like The Clash, Atmosphere, Pink Floyd, Tupac, Black Flag, etc. . I won’t go on and on about my history with dance music because this article would be a few pages long. But over the 15 years of being in love with dance music I listened to everything and every genre from happy hardcore to witch house. But here are a few cli notes: Ferry Corsten was my rst favorite DJ and Boys Noize at Coachella 2012 changed my life and made fall in love with techno when I was just into big room and trance, I been to international festivals like Tomorrowland Belgium and Brazil , Ultra in Miami, Japan and Croatia. I saw every DJ at least 10 times at this point. I been to hundreds of underground events, raves, concerts and clubs events in Southern California at this point. I’m obsessed with dance music, I’m always on Beatport trying to nd hidden gems in all genres. Right now, I bet you are thinking what this has to do with my new track ‘Dance All Night’? Well,Dance All Night is a track inspired by the dierent dance music genres that I love, in his case melodic techno and tech house. I started with a power bassline and percussion typically in rolling tech house because I wanted the people to dance as soon as people heard it. I was inspired by the basslines from DJ’s like Meduza and Max Styler. The underling melody is the perfect combo of trance and big room. For the drop I wanted it to be unique, so I made a drop inspired by Malaa, one of my all-time favorite producers. Dance All Night is a mix of all the genres I love and play in my DJ sets. 22. Alesso sparked news last week by announcing tinnitus was the reason for his recent show cancellations. In an emotional video, Alesso was saddened by the health issue but said they were getting better. Now, Martin Garrix has also come out in a recent interview saying he too has tinnitus. Both artists were quick to tell us all to “wear earplugs”. Martin says he has a “nonstop beep” and prefers always to have “music on in the background.” He compared it to having “10 mosquitos” around your ear. Which we all can agree is super annoying. He also stated that many of his fellow DJ peers are experiencing the same issues. Martin cited the problems stemmed from his early days not wearing earplugs when DJing and his long studio sessions. Now he has a DB meter that flashes lights at him when the volume is too loud. The best thing you can do for your ears long term is to wear earplugs at every show you go to. Eargasm is my favorite to wear. You can have your moments when you take them out and enjoy the music in full, but overall its best to keep them plugged!
