  1. There’s something special about dance music that sits in the liminal space between genres. KITTENS’ latest, “Take Me Home,” featuring Yasmin Jane’s velvet vocals, lives precisely there – where UK garage meets ’90s house, where jazz textures blur into R&B smoothness. Released via Moodswing Music, “Take Me Home” marks KITTENS’ emergence from what she calls “the chaotic energy” of her twenties into something more grounded and intentional. It’s the sound of an artist comfortable enough to let the music breathe, to explore without boundaries, and to craft something that feels both timeless and absolutely of the moment. Between the garage rhythms, house foundations, and Yasmin Jane’s soul-drenched delivery, the track feels like a mission statement from an artist shedding old skin. After making her name with high-energy sets, KITTENS has found something deeper here, crafting a groove that captures that precious 3AM moment when the dancefloor becomes a sanctuary of possibility. 2. Some samples are sacred ground – you either do them justice or you don’t touch them at all. BRN’s “FREAK OUT” falls firmly in the former category, taking that immortal “Aww freak out” vocal and giving it the respect it deserves while sliding it into a thoroughly modern house framework. The track is a masterclass in minimalism. That iconic guitar riff, recontextualized but not overdressed, rides a crisp house pulse that feels both inevitable and fresh. BRN, who’s been building serious momentum with releases like “Mommy” and “Spicy,” knows exactly when to let the classics speak for themselves and when to add his contemporary touch. It’s fitting that this caps his breakthrough year. Between millions of streams and a heavy tour schedule, BRN’s carved out his lane by focusing on what matters: groove, space, and dancefloor impact. 5. Tuesday Early Morning, firefighters in NYC responded to a blaze that engulfed an empty six-story building that was once the popular European-style nightclub Pacha NYC in Hell’s Kitchen. The nightclub was a top rated venue for a decade before shutting down in 2016, and up until 2020, the building hosted a haunted house. Fire at Former Pacha NYC The structure observed smoke and fire early morning tuesday around 8am at 616 W46th St from the third floor. Firefighters and EMS personnel assisted with the fire for about 90 minutes, controlling it fully around 9:32am. According to FDNY, about 25 units responded to the fire, with minor injuries. There were six ambulances in the vecinity, and W46th Street on the west side of 11th Avenue was shut down. According to formal complaints filled at the Department of Buildings in November, neighbors reported squatters in the vacated building. This resulted in lots of debris, garbage, and clutter throughout the building. Before all this, Pacha nightclub was celebrated in the building, which was built in the 1920s. The club won Best Superclub at the Club World Awards for five years, before shutting down in 2016. The buildings propriety remains uncertain, thought. According to W42ST news, it is not clear in City records who kept ownership of the portfolio of records. Nevertheless, the current owner appears to be 616-620 WEST 46TH STREET LLC. That block saw a recent fire back in November, where a derelict car wash engulfed in flames across from the building. 7. For bass music fans looking for a refreshing song to add to their birthday playlists, Jessica Audiffred has released a fitting new track—no surprise here—titled "Birthday." Out now via her own A Records imprint, the new single is Audiffred's second of 2025 and fifth from her upcoming debut album, Rave New World, which is set to drop later in the year. Stepping away from the more heavy-hitting edges of festival dubstep, Audiffred infuses "Birthday" with a more personal touch, crafting a track that resonates, particularly with female listeners. "I truly appreciate being a bass music producer and turn my dubstep songs into relatable experiences for girls, this is not your average harsh festival dubstep song, this is my experience, a girl to girl conversation that you can rave to," the EDM.com Class of 2025 star said on X. The song carries a flirtatious energy throughout, building anticipation with Lexy Panterra's repeated question, "Where you at?" before leading into a contagious drop. The drop reinforces themes of celebration, delivering a vibrant, feel-good party anthem with lyrics that effortlessly invite listeners to sing along. 8. Imagine a world where your livelihood requires boundless amounts of objects, all of which must be logged and remembered and stored as a collective body which must be accessible yet compact. These are the problems posed by those vinyl manipulators we know and love – the world of the DJ. For Harry Love, his problems are long gone. Thanks to our favourite Swedish chaos solution, Ikea, Harry Love can now nonchalantly breeze through his catalogue of keyboards, mixing equipment and 4500 records, following an intervention by the furniture giant which de-cluttered the hip-hop producer’s operational quarters. The brand is tapping into audiences by encouraging them to be inventive with Ikea products – why not use a stack of shoe racks to store six keyboards? With the ‘KALLAX’ bookcase fitting conventional vinyl sleeves like a glove, Ikea are reminding the established DJ that their ever-growing collections are screaming for more regimented square storage cases. 9. Swedish House Mafia‘s member Axwell just leaked the long-awaited ID, Underneath It All as a free download on Dropbox. If you’re surprised by the fact that such a highly awaited and requested tune has been delivered to the public for free, via a Dropbox link and with no announcement, you shouldn’t be. It’s not the first time that a Swedish House Mafia’s released a tune in this way. The last “release” of this kind happened just some months ago when Axwell, in the same way as this time, shared It Gets Better in the Stockholm version. It’s not the first time that has occurred. He released Feel The Pressure (Axwell & NEW ID WTP Remix), Thinking About You in the Monster Massive 2010 Version, Teenage Crime, the Axwell Copenhagen Mix, and Feel The Pressure. We Come We Rave We Love was also available for free download on Soundcloud thanks to Axwell and Sebastian Ingrosso. The leaks happened after a fan asked Axwell for some more information about the shows being canceled. In answering the question and talking about the fact that is “though for us managing this production“, Axwell also added the Dropbox link of Underneath It All adding “maybe this can help.” Mike Posner, co-producer of the song, first retweeted the leaked song and then deleted his own tweet. The version leaked is a deep and relaxing version, not the progressive masterpiece we have heard during the Stockholm show. It features dreamy and romantic harmonies as well s the soft and intimate main theme we all loved. The full vocal is there as well delivering an incredible weel-being feeling. You can listen, and at this point download, Swedish House Mafia Underneath It All via Dropbox’s link shared by Axwell. We hope to listen to the more festival-driven version in the Deluxe Edition of Paradise Again album. 10. For many producers, landing a release with Defected Records is a dream. But with countless demos submitted daily, it's difficult to figure out what to do to make your submission stand out. In a recent Defected newsletter shared with EDM.com, the label's Director of Music, Andy Daniell, shared his insights into the A&R process and answered key questions about what makes a track stand out, how demos are evaluated, why artists often misjudge their own best work and more. Read on to discover Daniell's tips on how artists can stand out to imprints like Defected, which in 2022 was named by EDM.com as the year's best record label. Andy Daniell/Instagram A&R decisions happen fastWith the sheer volume of music coming in, A&R professionals simply don’t have time to listen to every track in full. Much like crate-digging for vinyl, Daniell says he needle-drops through tracks, skipping intros and jumping straight to the energy. If an arrangement doesn’t grab attention immediately, it’s passed over. "You’ll feel the production quality, the feel, tone, direction of the audio very quickly, and if it’s removed from what we do as a label, you move on," he explained. "Likewise if it’s feeling relevant and exciting we listen in more depth. It’s the same as record shopping, you know from the preview clip if you’re curious to hear more." Producers often misjudge their own best workMany artists assume they know which track will get them signed, but according to Daniell, that’s rarely the case. This is why it’s crucial to send a well-rounded selection rather than banking on one track. Sometimes, the one you least expect is the one that stands out. "There are loads of elements that make a Defected track to me," he said. "Great original songs, standout club tracks, exciting hooks, funk, soul, are all elements I resonate with, but every single track is different. Quite often it’s the track artists least expect that I end up resonating with over the one they think is Defected." How to make your demo stand outPresentation matters just as much as the music itself. Daniell stresses the importance of keeping demo submissions concise and professional: a short introduction, a functional streaming link, links to social pages and a well-curated selection of tracks. These "best practices" are crucial, he said. "I would keep information relatively concise, maybe a paragraph about who you are, what you’re sending and why," he explained. "When sharing the audio, I personally prefer a streamable link with a download option. PLEASE CHECK YOUR LINK WORKS. You would be amazed how many dead/private links I get." "I would also recommend keeping your music focused when sharing. I’d say a maximum of four tracks that you feel best represents your artistry. If an A&R is curious they will absolutely be asking for more music. Also share a link to your relevant social pages, again if the music makes us curious we’ll be wanting to dig deeper to understand more about you and this makes that super easy. Even if the music isn’t right I’ll often follow artists I’m curious about to ensure I keep an eye on what they are doing moving forward." Sample clearance isn't always a dealbreakerWhile many labels reject tracks containing uncleared samples outright, Defected takes a more flexible approach. "I’m always a believer in the creativity leading the business, not the other way around," Daniell said. "After 20 years or so of figuring out clearances I’ve got a reasonably good sense of what is achievable, where we might run into issues, impact on the business side of the record so can hopefully have a highly informed conversation with the artist about the best steps forward. If the record is good I'll want to figure out the sample." Getting signed is just the beginningEven if a demo isn’t signed immediately, it doesn’t mean the door is closed. Daniell frequently keeps tabs on promising artists, following their progress. For producers looking to get noticed, the takeaway is clear: be professional, stay consistent and submit polished, original music. The track that lands you a deal might not be the one you expect—but if it brings something fresh, it won’t go unnoticed. At the end of the day, putting in the effort is just as important as raw talent. Taking the time to refine your production, craft a strong submission and understand what makes a track stand out can make all the difference. Storied record labels like Defected aren't just looking for a single good record, but seeking out artists with vision, longevity and dedication. A signing is just the beginning—the real challenge is proving you have what it takes to stay. 11. The recent release of the 2016 Ibiza version of Avicii’s ‘Forever Yours’ has sparked some controversy in the music world. While some fans were elated to have this version out, Sandro Cavazza who provided vocals for the track took to social media saying that he didn’t approve the songs release. Avicii was always very particular about his music leaving many songs on the cutting room floor which begs the question of should these tracks be seeing the light of day? ‘Forever Yours’ started out life as demo from Sandro Cavazza that just had guitar and vocals which he showed to Avicii a week before Ultra Music Festival in 2016. The pair of them worked together on it quickly developing the first version of the track that would be heard at Ultra which wowed the crowd. ‘Forever Yours’ would see several different iterations but was unfortunately never finished due to the passing of Avicii. To help him get through this hard time and to try do some good in the wake of Tim’s death, Cavazza decided to complete the song as a tribute to Avicii with all the proceeds from it going to the Tim Bergling Foundation. Kygo had reached out to Cavazza following Tim’s passing to give his condolences and stayed in contact with him. Kygo had always been a huge admirer of Avicii so when Cavazza decided to finish the track he brought him in to help complete Avicii’s vision as faithfully as possible. Sandro and Tim had a lot of unreleased and unfinished tracks together before Tim died and ‘Forever Yours’ is the only one of them to come out with the tribute version and the 2016 Ibiza version. Following the release of the Ibiza version Sandro took to social media to say “I have for years now been asked by the family and pinguettes recordings to release the unreleased material I have done together with Tim and I have consistently said no. A lot of you probably wonder why those songs never have come out and the truth is that I don’t want to release any of those songs Without Tim being here. He is the only one who knew when his songs were finished and I do and will continue to respect that.” While it’s nice to hear more of Avicii’s music, those unreleased songs are ones that are not finished and therefore wouldn’t be released till Avicii had worked on them meticulously to fruition. The Ibiza version that has been released was wildly different to the version played at Ultra as the end vision for the song was yet undecided and therefore the song was unfinished. To release an unfinished song goes against Avicii’s way of working and ignoring the wishes of Sandro Cavazza who played an equal part in its creation seems wrong. Despite this Avicii’s parents approved the release of ‘Forever Yours’, though that won’t have been with any ill intent and rather them wanting the memory of their son to live on through his music. There’s still countless unreleased Avicii tracks that could still come out, but the question remains as to whether they should without Tim being here to complete them in the way he would have wanted to. The most important thing is that his memory is honoured, and his legacy is looked after.

The Chainsmokers are back in 2025 with a vibrant DnB remix for Royal Otis‘ track ‘Oysters In My Pocket.’ The duo retain the quirky charm of the original while amplifying its dancefloor potential with a dose of their signature sound mixed with drum and bass elements in the already catchy tune. The Chainsmokers’ influence in the remix truly shines in the production. They’ve layered in a pulsating synth bassline that immediately grabs your attention. The drums are crisp and punchy, driving the track forward with a relentless energy. There’s a definite build-up throughout the song, creating anticipation for the drop, which, while not earth-shattering, is satisfyingly energetic and catchy. 14. Two of the hottest names in house and techno combine forces on a new single, “gImmE gImmE” featuring Rome Fortune. Eli Brown – a longtime staple in the techno scene – and HNTR – one of dance music’s fastest-rising talents – seamlessly blend their signature styles on this high-octane collaboration. The duo tapped Rome Fortune to deliver a punchy vocal performance – marking his second collaboration with HNTR following last year’s breakout track “YES B!TCH” from Experts Only – which helped propel HNTR’s meteoric rise. The latter is fresh off the release of his viral remix of Cloonee, Young M.A and InntRaw’s “Stephanie” that was supported by Dom Dolla, John Summit and many more. For Eli Brown, “gImmE gImmE” kicks off his 2025 releases after closing out 2024 with his collaborative ‘Overdose of Bass’ EP alongside Adam Beyer on Dancing Astronaut’s 2024 label of the year, Drumcode. Now in its 32nd year, Monegros’ temporary ‘technopolis’ is already a site of pilgrimage for the most daring ravers on the continent, drawn back year after year for a 22-hour experience as transformative as it is challenging, unleashing the feelings of togetherness and freedom that define the ‘Spirit of the Rave’. “We are delighted to welcome the Monegrinos once again this year,” say Juan and Cruz Arnau, the founders of Monegros. “We have been working all year on new spaces, collaborations, and formats, fostering creativity so that the desert dances like never before this July.” Today, the festival announces the first 90 artists from across the techno and dance continuum who will keep Monegros dancing until dusk, till dawn, and through to dusk again. Techno to the (hard)core Monegros Desert Festival has always been a temple to techno, and this edition doubles down on the 4/4, with pioneers of the scene and champions of the new wave alike. Uniting the scene: Stage Takeovers from across Europe and the world Drawn to the desert this year are a number of friends, new and old, who each contribute to the health and diversity of the global scene. Among the festivals commandeering stages this year are Amsterdam’s mammoth Awakenings, Barcelona’s Brunch Electronik, kings of the speedy bpm 24km/h and German hard dance upstarts Unreal. And let’s not forget the biggest stage of all: the desert, with its tricks of light and shadow and shifting sands, inspiring an elemental sense of adventure. A temporary Technopolis and a temple to the Spirit of the Rave Every year, Monegros Desert festival erects a temporary city in the heart of the desert; a temple to the ‘spirit of the rave’ that is a headliner in itself. Each of the 13 stages is a miracle of creativity and ingenuity, worked on by teams from around the world, united by the will to create the best possible ‘set and setting’ for the thousands of ‘Monegrinos’ who attend. This ‘technopolis’ takes on strange and creative shapes; from mythical beasts, to a non-stop immersive carnival to parties in a decommissioned 747; anything is possible and everyone is invited. This year comes with several improvements, as new shaded areas, 80 water stations will be added throughout the venue, along with ‘oases’ allowing travelers to rest and refresh before getting back into action. Additionally, a new cloakroom system with digitalized lockers will enhance convenience and security, along with improvements to signage, restrooms, and cleaning services across the venue. This is Not for You The festival’s slogan, “This Is Not for You,” is an invitation to embrace the unexpected. Monegros pushes boundaries, and each edition is a challenge for attendees—not just because of its location but because of the intensity of the experience. However, those who take on the challenge discover that a Monegrino has been waiting to awaken inside them all along. “There are two types of Monegrinos: those who already are and those who don’t know it yet. This year, we’re waiting for all of them because we promise to outdo ourselves in every detail to bring you the festival of your lives,” say Cruz and Juan Arnau, the founders of Monegros. 16. nilsix, the duo comprised of Ørjan Nilsen and Mark Sixma is back, and they’re bringing a tidal wave of melodic big room energy with their latest track, ‘Out Of The Water.’ The track features the captivating vocals of Brieanna Grace. ‘Out Of The Water’ was born in a Los Angeles studio during a spontaneous jam session, capturing the raw energy and creative synergy between Ørjan and Mark. The track’s soaring melodies and earth-shattering drops showcase their combined decades of experience and musical prowess. The track received a thunderous reception when nilsix debuted it live at Dreamstate San Bernardino, with Brieanna Grace delivering a show-stopping live vocal performance. The nilsix project began as a way to reignite their creative spark after the challenges of the post-COVID era. A simple studio session to “have fun” quickly snowballed into a prolific period, resulting in over 10 demos in just a few months. Their debut single, ‘Anhedonia,’ became Dreamstate Records’ most-streamed track to date, paving the way for a string of successful releases, including the techno-infused The Void, a 4-track EP, and a remix of Ørjan’s classic ‘XIING’ on Armind. 2024 has been a landmark year for nilsix. Their global tour has taken them to top festivals and clubs, including S2O Festival in Korea, EDC Las Vegas, Dreamstate SoCal Mainstage, Trancera Festival in Vietnam, Transmission, Creamfields, and London’s iconic Ministry of Sound, along with numerous club shows across Asia. Their music has been released on leading labels like Dreamstate Records, Armin van Buuren’s Armind, and Revealed Recordings. Their “nilsix & friends” show at ADE sold out in under three hours, cementing their status as one of the most exciting acts in dance music. 17. On a post that Nora En Pure made on her Facebook account, the Swiss-South African deep house star producer addresses her fans about the dangers of fraud and other criminal activities. The types of fraud and criminal activities that she mentioned about were relating to ticket scammers and online impersonators that would trick fans into paying more money than what they should pay. Nora En Pure then mentioned about the latest episode that she encountered, which relates to her warnings about fraud and criminal activities. The reason why Nora En Pure had to warn fans about fraud and criminal activities On her Facebook post, she mentioned that the police pulled her and her team regarding “someone at the counter who flew in from another country”. She later added that this person stated that she was “his girlfriend” and that he planned to “bail her out of jail”. In order for this to happen, she would have to pay “an X amount of money if by chance, she and her team knew him”. Nora En Pure then clarified that this person had apparently spent well past “5 digits $ already” for other stories and reasons that she and her team, and other people, don’t know about. This person also still remained at the police station and still convinced himself that she was “100% in prison” and that “he has to bail her out”. Her advice on how to detect scams “So if you are currently writing to someone that says it’s my team or me, or worse, you think you are in a relationship with me (?!) or buy some tickets & merchandise or other goods from any other than our platforms & official ticketing platforms you are busy being scammed”. Social media acccounts and official website from the producer Nora En Pure emphasized that anything that comes from her or her team are her official Facebook account, her Instagram account, her X (Twitter) account, and her official website. On the 26th July 2025, the desert awakens, as Monegros Desert Festival brings 150+ artists and 50,000 ravers together across 13 stages in one of the most extreme, and beautiful landscapes anywhere on the continent, the Monegros desert in Aragon, Spain. Live shows to shake the sands At the top of the list; Australian juggernauts Pendulum will bring their live show – an emotional riot of beats, riffs and earth shattering drops – to the desert ahead of their first full length release in over a decade. Techno to the (hard)core Monegros Desert Festival has always been a temple to techno, and this edition doubles down on the 4/4, with pioneers of the scene and champions of the new wave alike. Icons such as Richie Hawtin and Laurent Garnier need no introduction, while those tracking the shifting sands of what has become a global phenomenon are well represented; Nico Moreno, Oguz, I Hate Models, Vendex, Indira Paganotto and Anthea bring their club-conquering take on techno and hard dance to the desert. Elsewhere, Blawan brings his signature noise-drenched sound, while Héctor Oaks returns to an adoring home-crowd for another set of hard and fast vinyl. More than techno: From house to hip-hop, dub to psytrance At the end of the day Monegros is a marathon not a sprint, and the line up features a number of artists guaranteed to take you on a journey while keeping you dancing. Man in the mask Boris Brejcha brings his pulsating, spiritual techno to Monegros for the first time, while Andres Campos keeps up the tempo. Lowering the BPMs while keeping the focus firmly on the dance floor, global scene ambassador Seth Troxler takes house music to places hard and deep while Ben Sims and Cinthie bring the funk in their own signature way. Elsewhere at the festival, every genre imaginable is represented, from the beats and rhymes of Foyone, Santa Salut or Faena, through to Jamaican reggae legend Protoje, via the spiritual beats of psytrance master DJ Tristan, with many more artists still to be announced. B2Bs and ‘F2Fs’ Monegros is famous for bringing people together; after all, there’s nothing more bonding than dancing the sun up over the dunes surrounded by friends old and new. This spirit of togetherness extends to the lineup, with an astounding 26 b2b sets spanning every genre imaginable. Drumcode’s Adam Beyer and Italian don Ilario Alicante; Chris and Aaron Liberator celebrating 30 years of a unique familial partnership; hard dance maestros Basswell and onlynumbers, and Blawan b2b Mutual Rytm boss SHDW, are just a few of the epic team-ups taking place across the festival. Also debuting at the festival will be a brand new DJ format, pioneered by viral events brand 240km/h and taking place on their stage. These Face-2-Face sets heighten the playful competition inherent in DJ showdowns, with a custom set up ratcheting up the intensity. Still more surprises are yet to come, with more artists, stages and details to be revealed in the coming weeks. Tickets and further info available via https://monegrosfestival.com/en. 19. Legendary electronic music producer Paul van Dyk has joined forces with the emerging Progressive House duo FUENKA for their highly anticipated single, “Seven Seas.” Set to drop on February 28th, 2025, the track marks their second collaboration, following Artefact, which will be featured on the deluxe edition of the upcoming This World Is Ours album. The single is a compelling blend of progressive House and Techno. “Seven Seas” delivers a cinematic, emotional experience, perfectly showcasing the unique artistry of both collaborators. The track’s haunting melody carries listeners through a dramatic journey of tension and calm, reminiscent of the unpredictable and majestic nature of the ocean. With powerful crescendos, serene moments of tranquility, and subtle seagull calls woven into the soundscape, the release fluently transports listeners on a sonic voyage across vast, uncharted waters. The ‘’Seven Seas / The Poem’’ Mix dives deep into the thematic of the album, exploring the positive and negative aspects of AI. The poem itself is written and spoken by AI, fed only by a few inspiring thoughts of PvD . If you’re not aware, you might not recognise it, but it’s undeniably unsettling how much emotion and depth a ‘machine’ can express in art. Reflecting on the collaboration, Paul van Dyk shared: “Working with FUENKA on ‘Seven Seas’ has been an inspiring process. We aimed to create something that captured the power and beauty of nature, and the ocean felt like the perfect metaphor for this journey. The track balances intensity with moments of stillness, capturing the mystery and emotion of the sea.” “Seven Seas” will be available on all major streaming platforms and marks the first in a series of releases leading up to the highly anticipated “This World Is Ours” album. Serving as a powerful prelude to the full album, the single offers an exciting glimpse into Paul van Dyk’s upcoming project, exploring the deep connections between humanity and the natural world. Set to release in March 2025, the album kicks off a year of activity and touring for the Grammy-nominated artist. 21. Back in 2015, while his peers were navigating high school hallways, 15-year-old bedroom producer Whethan was unknowingly crafting a remix that would amass 15 million SoundCloud streams and launch his music career. His breakthrough remix of Mssingno's "XE3" has now finally received its long-awaited official streaming release, bringing one of SoundCloud's early viral electronic hits to a new generation of listeners. The future bass track, which has amassed over 15 million streams on SoundCloud since its initial release, helped establish Whethan as a rising force in electronic music when he was just a teenager. Its success led to festival appearances and touring opportunities that would shape the trajectory of his career, which ultimately saw him collaborate with Dua Lipa, Charli xcx, Jeremih, Oliver Tree and many more. "After 10 years, the remix that changed my life is finally out on all platforms," Whethan said on social media. "From seeing it played out at festivals when I was 15 to touring around the world and sharing the stage with so many amazing artists, I owe everything to this song and all the people who have supported me." The move to bring the track to mainstream streaming platforms comes as many artists are recognizing the value in making their early SoundCloud-era content available to wider audiences through official channels. Flume's prized remix of Lorde's "Tennis Court," originally released in 2014, became available on Spotify in February 2023, nine years later. Looking ahead, Whethan also announced plans to return to his remixing roots, telling fans to expect new content soon: "To celebrate I've been getting back to my roots and experimenting with remixes again, going to be dropping a lot of stuff soon." 22. Heart rates and tempos will rise in Chicago this summer at Faces of Fitness, which will feature a festival performance organizers are calling the first of its kind. The two-day festival, dubbed the "Lollapalooza of Fitness," returns July 26-27 with a lineup of renowned instructors, studio classes and wellness experiences. Its pièce de résistance, however, is electronic music heavyweight Sam Feldt, who is ushering in an ambitious fusion of fitness innovation and live electronic music. It's the first time the DJ has ventured into fitness experiences, according to Faces of Fitness. Feldt, who has commanded stages at Coachella, Ultra and Tomorrowland, will be integrated directly into the workout experience on the festival's second day, July 27th. It's a departure from the standard playbook that festival co-founder David Grass says was inevitable: "Music is such an intrinsic component of the fitness class experience," he explained, noting that the collaboration represents the first time a global DJ has been woven into the fabric of a fitness class at this scale in the US. The DJ will trade his usual festival mainstage for something entirely new, soundtracking live workout sessions. "Seeing happy faces and spreading happiness with my music... there is no better job in the world," Feldt said of his unconventional new venue. View the original article to see embedded media. Elsewhere on this year's Faces of Fitness lineup is Jennifer Aniston's trainer Dani Coleman, NFL veteran Israel Idonije and fitness influencer Aubre Winters, all of whom will headline alongside a mysterious yet-to-be-announced Peloton instructor. The event will feature over 20 classes from premium fitness brands including Barry's, Lululemon and OrangeTheory. Beyond the sweat sessions, a "Wellness Village" will showcase over 80 brands pushing the boundaries of health tech and wellness innovation. "The village is a place where our attendees can explore and discover—in a completely sober setting—the future of the human body and how to continuously live a lifestyle rooted in physical and mental wellbeing," added festival co-founder Lindsay Grass. The festival is also giving back. For the fourth year running, a portion of every ticket sold will support Urban Initiatives, a local charity bringing fitness and wellness programs to underserved Chicago youth. 23. Matis Club in Bologna, Italy, will be welcoming two incredible special guests this February: Saturday, 15th February 2025: Fatboy Slim Saturday, 22nd February 2025: Ilario Alicante The term “superstar DJ” is often overused, but in the case of Fatboy Slim (Norman Cook), it doesn’t quite capture the full extent of his legacy. With a career spanning nearly 40 years, Norman has delivered iconic albums like You’ve Come A Long Way, Baby and collaborated with legends like Madonna, David Byrne, and Iggy Pop. His career has earned him Grammy and Brit Awards, and he’s played at some of the most unbelievable venues in the world, including the Great Wall of China and the UK’s House of Commons. His legendary 2002 concert in Brighton, which drew a crowd of over 250,000 people, solidified his place in music history and earned him the alter ego of The Brighton Port Authority. This concert was revisited in 2023 in the documentary Fatboy Slim: Right Here, Right Now, directed by Jak Hutchcraft. This year, Norman Cook will also receive the MPG Award for his Outstanding Contribution to UK Music. Saturday, 22nd February – Ilario Alicante Ilario Alicante is a true rising star in the electronic music scene. At just 18, Alicante became the youngest artist ever to debut at the Time Warp festival. His breakthrough track Vacaciones, En Chile (2008) introduced him to the global electronic community. A winner of the Ibiza DJ Awards as Best Techno Artist, Ilario quickly became part of Sven Väth’s Cocoon family, and since then, he’s graced some of the world’s top clubs and festivals, including Creamfields, elrow, Manegros, and Zamna Tulum, to name a few. 24. From the outside looking in, ‘making it’ in the electronic music sphere always appears to be the toughest nut to crack. Mark Sherry however would respectfully disagree. ‘Staying there’ is where the hard work begins. Famously, Mark did the former, near enough, inside his first studio trip, taking him to the top 5 of both his native UK and the international charts. He has barely paused for breath since. A testament to a professional life lived exclusively within the dance music space, ‘TH3RTY’s title denotes both his years working there and the album’s track count. Work hard and (DJ-wise) play hard is Mark’s ethic, and ‘TH3RTY’s its absolute embodiment. Fittingly, over ‘TH3RTY’s thirty, its music both looks forward and reflects back. It features collaborations with rising singer-songwriters like Adara, Brieanna Grace and Kate Louise Smith. Equally, it includes partnerships with industry mainstays like The Space Brothers, Sarah Howells, and fellow Scot, David Forbes. Mark has also seized the opportunity to crate dig and remix cherry pick some of his all-time favourites, assigning his signature sound to tracks from Armin van Buuren, Mauro Picotto, and Westbam. And if all that hasn’t yet left you breathless, he also unveils a multi-track stack from a newer alias, setting the stage for fresh creative explorations and pays musical tribute to the close friend and former bandmate Mallorca Lee that he lost in 2024. “Blood sweat and tears doesn’t even come close!” is how Mark assesses ‘TH3RTY’s two year production run. What it takes to stay atop the electronic music game is laid out in dazzling, exacting and wildly uplifting detail.‘TH3RTY’ releases Feb 21, 2025. Highlights throughout? Well, picking firsts-among-equals is no easy task, but what’ll stand out just as quickly is ‘TH3RTY’s structure. Not just in how it plays, but also how, intentionally, Mark has sectioned his different work areas throughout it. It begins in full voice, launching with a powerful salvo of production/vocal collaborations. ‘Forever’ is graced by Brieanna Grace, while Adara’s voice sets light to ‘Flammable’ and Sarah Howells’ soars on ‘Heroes’. Dilemma’s early ‘90s Balearic anthem ‘In Spirit’ gets the treatment before Sherry & The Space Brothers elevate ‘Angel’ and Peetu S & Emma Gillespie (a former winner of Sky TV’s ‘Must Be the Music’) part the waves on ‘Open Ocean’. From there, Mark checks off three major names from his personal remix wishlist, rewiring the legendary ‘Wizards of the Sonic’ by Westbam, Armin’s debut trancer ‘Blue Fear’, and Mauro Picotto’s irrepressible ‘Iguana’. As the first disc crests, Sherry calls in his old Thick As Thieves sparring partner, David Forbes, for another galloping, floor-thirsty tech-trancer in the form of ‘Superposition’. The pair then rewind to their 2020 Techburst release with an equally charged-up remix of ‘Tingles’. Disc 2 again sees Mark quartering the album’s endeavours. The first half has Sherry moving between solo works like ‘In The Darkness [I Find My Light]’, ‘Rave Is Life [We Play It Loud]’ and ‘Collide’ and partnering with Kriess Guyte, Systembreaker and Gordon Tennant respectively on ‘Who Loves U’, ‘Break It’ and ‘Heaven Is My XTC’. Midpoint, Mark drops fresh material from his recently unveiled hard techno alias, Dark Sherry, which he deck-debuted at Dreamstate SoCal in 2023. Freak Unique and Oshy 303 (son of Mallorca Lee) lend a hand on ‘We Are Free’ and ‘The Only Way’, while ‘Dark’ solo trip’s it on ‘Dance With Me’ and ‘We’re Gonna Rave’. The album ends on the most emotional and indeed poignant of notes. Having dropped ‘Our Little Game’, his final collaboration with Majorca Lee earlier in the disc, Mark dedicates the final track quartet to his former bandmate and close friend who passed away in February of 2024. Mark has remixed a trio of Lee’s early nineties Ultra-Sonic releases (‘Obsession’, ‘React’ and ‘ Love Me Right’), and as a final GBNF tribute, has recorded ‘Mallorca’s Superstar [We Are The Universe]’ as the album’s closing act. So, there you have it: thirty for thirty (for ‘TH3RTY’!) … because if you have that in you, why wouldn’t you!!?! ‘TH3RTY’ is available to pre-order now and releases through all channels, Feb 21.
