[EDM House Network] Adam Bogdan Releases Funky Debut EP ‘Improv’
After a 9-year hiatus from releasing music Adam Bogdan has returned in style with his debut EP ‘Improv’ that shows he’s not lost any of his groove. Following a move to Miami and the birth of his son, he’s been revitalized and has made his return to producing which has resulted in 4 brand new tracks. Straight away from the opening song ‘Improv’ it’s clear that Bogdan has really developed his craft while he’s been away. It sets out the tone for the EP perfectly with its funky bassline and instantly catchy drum beats which are sure to get bodies moving in the clubs. ‘Drop Deep’ keeps the groove going and feels like it would be equally at home at a beach party as it would be at an underground rave as he keeps a bit of an underground sound in it to honour his roots. ‘Do You Read Music’ offers a change in energy with the lead synths setting out the rhythm while the bass once again just makes you want to move which links perfectly into the closing track ‘Hold Up.’ Here the use of vocal samples adds a nice bit of variation on top of yet more excellently crafted beats. With ‘Improv’ being signed by Sepp’s record label CATREN and the EP already hitting the clubs, Adam Bogdan has made a great return to the music scene and has set out his distinct style well. Now that his love of producing has been rekindled there will hopefully be more releases to come from him with this same addictive energy. Connect with Adam Bogdan on his socials below:

[GrooveCartel] KIDSØ move mountains with their icy electronica single ‘Lykke’
KIDSØ, the Munich duo (Moritz Grassinger and Martin Schneider) are back with a new single called “Lykke,” which means “fortune” in Swedish and is out now on Embassy One. Ten years ago, the producer team took a trip through the uninhabited Scandinavian landscapes of rolling hills, stunning drops, and jagged peaks. Their sparsely melodic electronica music moves mountains and gives us hope. It is set against a huge, haunting soundscape made up of strings and a mixed choir that makes you think of a Sisyphean battle and a strong sense of grief and loss. In terms of melody, though, it’s the metallic double-time arpeggiator and the offbeat LFO bass that really make the track shine. Until the chorus, where a female singer takes over and sings two lines that capture the song’s mind-over-matter spirit: “We can move the mountains/We can burn them down, set fire to it all.” Lykke represents a deep dive into the melancholic and fragile side of our sound. Like its predecessor ‘Ylva,’ the track was inspired by the stark beauty of Nordic landscapes, evoking feelings of solitude, snow, and serenity. It reflects our current sonic identity—fresh, delicate and emotional. We’re incredibly proud to release this piece with Embassy One and share it with the world. The Munich two-piece not only make their glacial electronica sound even more solid with “Lykke,” but judging by how their Turkish fans reacted in Eskisehir, Ankara, and Istanbul, they also prove that they are an electrifying live act that their German fans can still see for themselves during the last leg of their European tour. [EDM.com] Drift Into the Dreamlike Abyss of LSZEE's New Single, "Lost"
LSZEE are back with "Lost," a track that feels untethered to the physical world entirely, floating between the stars and your subconscious. The collaborative alias of CloZee and LSDREAM emerged in a blaze of creative fire within a matter of months, debuting at Electric Forest in June 2024 before releasing a self-titled album and headlining Red Rocks in one of EDM.com's best performances of the year. But if those milestones suggested a whirlwind of maximalist ambitions, "Lost" reveals a different dimension of LSZEE’s artistry, one that's more meditative and introspective. With the new single, LSZEE reinforce that fact that their synergy is far from a fleeting experiment and reveal a broader spectrum of their cerebral sound. Anchored by the haunting vocals of Roniit, "Lost" unfurls like a weightless dream sequence. Her airy voice glides through the track while LSZEE’s atmospheric production shines with delicate, drifting synths that dissolve into an otherworldly soundscape. The duo leans into subtlety, allowing reverb-drenched melodies to bloom in vast open space before coalescing around a cinematic trap drop. [EDM.com] Blanke, CADMIUM and Ben Provencial Team Up for Evocative Dance Track, "Above the Water"
Music serves many purposes in the lives of those who consume it, but chief among those goals is to make the listener feel. "Above The Water," a new collaboration between producers Blanke and CADMIUM with singer-songwriter Ben Provencial, passes that test with flying colors. "Above The Water" is a stirring blend of melancholy and triumph that underscores each artists' versatility. At the heart of the track is Provencial’s soaring vocal range, drenched in regret and introspection, effortlessly guiding the energy from its somber introduction to its euphoric release. A tutorial in balancing tension and resolution, his lyricism serves as the anchor that carries the weight of the song’s emotional arc. His evocative delivery immediately pulls us into the track's self-doubting depths before the production shifts gears, injecting a sense of catharsis. As the drop develops, "Above The Water" transitions into an uplifting fusion of melodic bass and a driving, percussive groove. Blanke, the EDM.com Class of 2021 star who also moonlights as his drum & bass alias ÆON:MODE, continues to expand his sonic palette by demonstrating his deft touch in the future bass space. Meanwhile, CADMIUM reinforces his own cinematic style with emotionally charged production. Listen to "Above The Water" below and find the new single on streaming platforms here. [GrooveCartel] Factory 93’s Ignites Dance Floors with M-High’s “Lips Moving”
M-High‘s latest release on Factory 93 is a triumphant return to the core of underground house music. It captures the raw, unrelenting spirit of dance music’s golden age while adding modern technical precision. “Lips Moving” shows how powerful classic house sounds can be when they are expertly remade for today’s sophisticated dance floors. From the very beginning, “Lips Moving” grabs listeners with an unstoppable tech-house groove that speaks directly to the heart of late-night warehouse parties. The track’s pulsing rhythm is like a backbone that can’t be broken. It moves forward with an addictive energy that makes you want to move from the first beat. This isn’t just a song; it’s an experience that turns places into dance temples for a short time. There is a cleverly made synth theme at the heart of the production that weaves through the arrangement like a spell. Today’s technical standards are based on crisp, modern production values, but the interesting blending work pays homage to the analog warmth of a classic house. This careful mix between old and new sounds builds a bridge between generations of people who love house music. The track’s main theme plays a dual role as both a compass and a guide. It changes slightly as the arrangement goes on, but its pull on dancers stays strong. DJs dream of making music like this—a perfectly tuned weapon that can either set off peak-time bliss or keep up the deep, meditative groove of early morning sessions. [EDM House Network] Fox Stevenson And Yue Smash Into 2025 With ‘Pieces’
For years Fox Stevenson has been pumping out fantastic genre-blurring music that has earned him over 100 million streams on Spotify. Now he’s come out with another banger with ‘Pieces’ in collaboration with Drum & Bass producer and vocalist Yue that is yet again a show of his diverse and unique productions. ‘Pieces’ is a tour de force of fantastic sound design that has some absolutely beautiful atmospherics which are a particular treat for the ears and set the more solemn tone in the verses brilliantly. The dichotomy between Fox’s lyrics that recall past struggles, and Yue’s lyrics which describe looking toward a hopeful future create a compelling narrative that leads into the awesome breakbeat in the chorus’. Yue provides some incredible vocals which when layered together with Fox’s during the chorus’ sounds like their voices were made to be blended together. ‘Pieces’ is an excellent addition to Fox Stevenson’s repertoire of Drum & Bass bangers and will be an exciting track of his to hear at his live shows where he integrates live instruments into his performances. He’s on top form at the moment which is looking to continue over the coming year having already dropped another heater with ‘That Choice.’ There’s plenty to look forward to from him. [UKF] Beyond The Bassline: VEIL’s Quest For New Soundscapes
Step into VEIL’s sonic universe, and you’ll quickly realise she is far more than just a producer— she is a storyteller, an explorer, and an architect of deep, immersive musical narratives. Her approach to music is rooted in a relentless pursuit of the unknown, and her ability to transport the listener beyond the ordinary. Her sound thrives in the darker, more enigmatic corners of the genre, where she infuses deep frequencies and intricate sound design that converge to create something truly mesmerizing. But here’s the best part, this is where it just starts. Despite the shadowy, intense nature of her sound, VEIL skilfully weaves together a diverse array of styles under the low-end umbrella to create musical expeditions that are vivid, introspective, and thought-provoking. This unique sonic signature has earned VEIL a place among some of bass music’s most forward-thinking labels, including WAKAAN, MorFlo Records, and Deadbeats. But she isn’t just contributing to the scene—she’s actively shaping it. Through her own imprint, Street Ritual, she curates and cultivates a platform for like-minded artists, pushing the boundaries of experimental bass music and fostering a community of sonic trailblazers. Street Ritual is where VEIL’s debut album, High Voltage landed, which is a culmination of her endless depth of her creative genius. Released in late 2024, “High Voltage” is a multidimensional experience, with 5/9 and Towr Media enhancing its visual narrative. The album resonates on multiple fronts—sonic, visual, experiential, and transcendental—pushing boundaries at every turn. High Voltage unfolds the story of AZAL, a central figure journeying through THE HOLLOW—a cross-dimensional realm of infinite timelines and realities. Each track serves as a chapter in her odyssey, chronicling her evolution as she discovers and harnesses her ability to shape and manipulate the ever-shifting landscapes of THE HOLLOW. Before diving deep into VEIL’s debut album, High Voltage, it might be a good idea to explore how its narrative was meticulously crafted. Understanding the story behind the album adds a new layer of depth to the experience, allowing us to fully appreciate the vision and artistry that shaped it. “AZAL, my main character, has appeared in many of my past EPs, and High Voltage follows her journey as she enters a black liminal space where she learns to control realities with her mind. Over time, I realised her story reflected my own—navigating multiple realities, managing creative projects, and feeling both empowered and overwhelmed. Throughout the album, AZAL experiences moments of control, disruption (like encountering malware), and ultimately, an overload of power. Structuring the album to honour this narrative was crucial. I didn’t just arrange tracks by energy levels—I wanted the flow to mirror the emotional and sonic journey, much like my DJ sets, where heavy moments build into introspection before resetting and evolving. The interlude at the midpoint serves as a reset, leading into a fresh chapter of sound. The closing track, Overload, is one of my favourites because it encapsulates how I felt by the end of the year—pushed to the limit, juggling creative projects, finishing the album, and even organising the release party.” Then comes the moment where VEIL took a bold leap of faith, deciding to craft her debut album High Voltage. This wasn’t just another project—it was her biggest creative endeavour to date, one that required her to push beyond the boundaries of her past work and take on a monumental challenge. She not only had to compose the intricate, layered sounds of the album but also build a captivating narrative around it. The weight of creating something so personal and so expansive was immense, and the pressure of shaping this story—the world of AZAL and THE HOLLOW—was like nothing she had faced before. In the process, VEIL found herself navigating the complexities of self-doubt, the challenges of balancing creative freedom with artistic consistency, and the internal struggle of stepping into such uncharted territory. It was a journey filled with moments of uncertainty, yet the drive to see the story unfold and to release something that was so uniquely hers kept her moving forward. “I’ve been considering making an album for a few years, but at the start of this year, I felt ready for a bigger creative challenge. Knowing myself, I wanted to go all-in on the visuals, storyline, and lore, so I gave it enough time. I set the goal in November while on tour, but the concept and timeline took shape around January-February. I planned to finish the tracks by July to release in November, making it a busy year. My team and I worked hard, with two visual shoots and extensive post-production. My creative director, VJ, and visual artist, 59, collaborated with me on the storyline, ensuring each track had a deeper visual and narrative connection.” Now that the album is out in the world, the sense of relief is palpable. VEIL has seen the album resonate deeply with listeners, with many praising the intricate storytelling and bold sonic choices. The reaction has been overwhelmingly positive, and the journey has come full circle, as she watches her vision reach a wider audience. For VEIL, the success of High Voltage goes beyond the accolades; it’s about how her music has touched others and how her personal journey, which she poured into the album, has become a shared experience with listeners. It’s a moment of both reflection and forward momentum—realising that the leap of faith she took has not only paid off but has opened doors to even greater possibilities in her creative future. “The pressure I felt was entirely self-imposed—I wanted to bring to life every sound and idea I had envisioned. I experience music in colours, and while my previous project spanned multiple genres, VEIL has always had a more focused sound. With this album, I aimed to expand that while keeping it cohesive, blending different styles into one fluid journey. The challenge was fitting everything into 10-12 tracks while staying true to my vision. Along the way, I had to refine, cut, and adjust ideas to ensure the album told a complete story. Every BPM shift, track placement, and AI-generated voice sample was intentional, carefully woven into the narrative. Now, listening back, I’m amazed at how it all came together.” Creating an album of this scale is an emotional rollercoaster, and for VEIL, the process was no different. Pouring her heart and soul into every track, she experienced a whirlwind of emotions—hope, frustration, excitement, doubt, and everything in between. There were moments of pure inspiration where ideas flowed effortlessly, and others where the weight of the project felt overwhelming. VEIL describes the album as a direct reflection of her emotional journey, with each track carrying its own unique energy. Some tracks radiate positivity and euphoria, while others dive into aggression, tension, or even moments of despair. The album was not just about creating music, but about capturing raw, unfiltered emotions and translating them into sound. “Art imitates life, and life imitates art—it’s a constant cycle. AZAL’s journey has always been an inspiration to me, though I never directly saw it as my own. But through creating this album, I realised I was expressing so much of what I feel about my music, my vision, and the direction of my project. I wanted to honour my roots in psychedelic music, which has always been a core influence. While my sets are known for being heavy and dark, there’s always been a strong psychedelic element running through them—something deeply important to my sound. With this album, I aimed to merge that hypnotic, mind-bending energy with the weight and intensity of my music, creating something that feels both raw and immersive.” One thing High Voltage delivers on is the extremely fine balance of solo and collaborative material. The solo stuff flows the way VEIL wants it to but VEIL also lets her collaborations speak and breathe. HerShe and Digital Vagabond come through on their respective tunes and when you give it a listen is when you know the honest effort that has gone into each piece of music on the album. When working with others, like HerShe and Digital Vagabond, VEIL allows each artist’s voice and influence to come through in a way that feels natural and unforced. Their contributions are not just added elements—they are integral parts of the album, each one breathing life into the project in its own distinctive way. When you listen to their respective tracks, you can hear the careful thought and honest effort put into each one. It’s evident that every piece of music, whether solo or collaborative, was crafted with passion and attention to detail, making High Voltage a seamless blend of individual artistry and collaborative energy. “The tracklist for High Voltage wasn’t set in stone from the start, and I had a few other collaborations in mind as well. But as I began finalizing the earlier tracks and getting them mastered earlier in the year, I started to see how everything might fit together. One track I was certain about was Omega. The name itself, which means “the end,” felt symbolic, and it was an important part of the album’s narrative. Digital Vagabond, who is also part of my creative team and one of my closest friends and collaborators, was a perfect fit for this track. I had been playing Omega for a long time, and it felt right to have it as a pivotal moment in the album. It was also key for me that Omega followed the 5-9 track because 5-9 and I, along with Knox Illumina, are all very close friends and collaborators. We also run a business together called Tower Media, where we handle artwork and creative projects. So, having that sequence felt significant, like the 5-9 track sets up the story and Omega comes in to reset everything. It was essential for me to make sure that each piece of the story fit together naturally. With Move Fast and Break Things, the track started with a sample I was really excited about. It felt like the perfect match for my energy—it’s just who I am. My friends always say, “Keep calm and carry on,” but for me, it’s more like “Move fast and break things.” That’s the energy I bring, and I knew it had to be a part of the album. When I sent it to my friend HerShe, she instantly connected with it and said, “Let me jump on this right now.” I’ve worked with her on a few tracks before, and I love her sound—she has that same bold, go-for-it energy, which felt perfect for this track. She ended up writing the intro for the song and sent it back, and I was blown away—it quickly became one of my favourite tracks on the album. At first, when I sent it to her, the samples were missing, so she didn’t even hear the full version. When she sent it back with her part, I added the samples back in, and her reaction was priceless. She was so excited, saying, “Oh my God, this is ridiculous!” It was a really special moment. Both collaborations came together naturally, and I knew that Move Fast and Break Things was always meant to be part of the album’s storyline. It represents a moment where the character is gaining control and moving through space, maybe a little chaotically, but in a way that feels empowering. It has that raw, unapologetic energy that I wanted to capture, and to me, it just screams girl power. And I don’t mean that in a corny way—it’s about embracing that fierce, unstoppable energy.” The sonic prowess of High Voltage is, of course, undeniable, showcasing VEIL‘s ability to craft a soundscape that is both electrifying and emotionally resonant. However, it was the visual dimension of the album’s release that truly elevated VEIL‘s debut long player to an entirely new level of artistry. Recognizing the power of storytelling through imagery, VEIL partnered with Tower Media, a creative agency known for its innovative approach to visual storytelling, to bring the narrative of AZAL—a central figure or concept in the album—to life. This collaboration resulted in a series of stunning visuals that complemented the album’s themes and sonic textures. From meticulously crafted music videos to striking album artwork, every visual element was designed to immerse the audience in AZAL’s journey. The visuals were not just supplementary but integral to the album’s identity, creating a multi-sensory experience that resonated deeply with VEIL and her music. “Tower Media and I have collaborated on my last four releases, including AZAL. It’s always rewarding—we start with a concept, a mood board, and a vision. For this project, I wanted a liminal space with a 3D universe around me, evolving as AZAL grows more powerful. They’re amazing at bringing my ideas to life. We shot everything in our studio with just a few cameras—one professional, one iPhone—and a small team. This was our biggest visual project yet, with singles, album art, and canvases to deliver. We even did a test shoot in March to figure out how to place me in a 3D universe, which helped us refine the final shoot. Josh from Tower Media did an incredible job showcasing the story across all visuals. It’s our biggest accomplishment to date, and the project wouldn’t be the same without them. From the start, I wanted visuals to be a core part of my storytelling, and they’ve been essential in making that happen.” In many ways, High Voltage feels like the culmination of a significant musical chapter for VEIL, while simultaneously marking the beginning of an exciting new era. The album represents a monumental effort in perfecting every aspect of her artistry—the narrative, the sound, and the visual storytelling—all of which come together to create a cohesive and immersive experience Now that it’s done, this project feels like the closing of a door on one journey, one that has been defined by growth, experimentation, and the meticulous crafting of AZAL’s story. VEIL herself resonates with this sentiment, acknowledging that High Voltage has been a transformative experience. It’s a project that has allowed her to fully realise the potential of her storytelling, both sonically and visually, and has set a high bar for what’s to come. “Yeah, High Voltage was an opportunity for me to get a lot out of my system—it was a deeply emotional project with so much depth in the story and visuals. Now, I’m excited to write music without restrictions. The album was very planned, with BPM charts, story points, and specific samples mapped out. Moving forward, I want to create without deadlines or rigid structures. I’m taking a break from touring to focus on the studio and just have fun with it. The album has given me that freedom, and it’s been interesting to see which tracks resonate with people. Everyone has different favourites, which has been surprising and exciting to witness. Now, it feels like VEIL is stepping out of the “hollow”—the space we’ve been in all year—and into something new. I’m looking forward to experimenting without constraints, whether that means shifting BPMs or exploring different genres like drum and bass. While I still have goals, such as releasing with certain labels, I’m focusing less on rigid plans and more on enjoying the creative process. After such a major achievement this year, I want to let things unfold naturally and see where the music takes me.” The album found its home on VEIL’s own label, Street Ritual, a platform long synonymous with boundary-pushing experimentation across genres like dubstep, halftime, drum and bass, leftfield bass, and kinetic psychedelia. VEIL’s journey with the label began nearly a decade ago when she joined as one of its key contributors, eventually stepping into the role of owner. Under her stewardship, Street Ritual has continued to serve as a launchpad for emerging artists, providing a space to showcase talent, evolve sound, and grow into influential figures within the bass music community. Reflecting on her early days with the label, VEIL took us on a nostalgic journey, recounting how Street Ritual became a hub for innovation and collaboration. She also shared insights into the evolution of America’s bass music scene over the past fifteen years, a period marked by seismic shifts in sound and culture. “You know, the whole bass music scene in America is such an interesting conversation—I could talk about it for hours! Take psychedelic bass music, for example. It really had its moment from around 2011 to 2016-2017, and don’t get me wrong, it’s still going strong, but in the U.S., it feels like it has hit a bit of a ceiling. The thing is, the psychedelic bass audience is far more global than many people realise. I’ve played at Boom Festival twice, toured across Europe, Australia, and South and Central America with my old psychedelic project, and it really opened my eyes to how different the bass music scene is outside the U.S. In many of those places, heavy dubstep isn’t the main focus—it’s more about experimental, diverse sounds. But here in America, there’s been a noticeable shift towards heavier, more intense styles. Over the past few years, genres like IDM, leftfield, and experimental bass have exploded, especially on platforms like Beatport. These sounds aren’t new, but they’re finally getting the recognition they deserve, and now they’re practically their own subgenres. Leftfield, in particular, feels like a great way to describe where Street Ritual has ended up. We started out with a lot of trap and psychedelic bass—that whole “West Coast bass” vibe, you know, that glitchy, trappy, psychedelic sound that was huge for a while. But over time, our sound has evolved. You can still hear those influences, but now there’s a heavier, more experimental edge to it. It’s wild how much the scene has changed since the mid-2010s when artists like Kalya Scintilla, Hedflux, Sixis, and Tipper were my biggest inspirations. Now, it feels like the U.S. is leaning into darker, heavier sounds. Look at drum and bass—it’s having a moment again, which totally aligns with this trend toward intensity. But honestly, this could just be my perspective. It might be what I’m personally drawn to or focusing on right now. Still, it’s fascinating to see how the American bass music scene is evolving, embracing these heavier, more dynamic sounds while still holding onto the psychedelic and experimental roots that made it so special in the first place.” Which brings us to an essential point about the cultural exchange between the United Kingdom and the United States from a bass music standpoint. They have been influencing each other since the earliest years of drum & bass, garage, and dubstep. The bass music scene in America thrives on a dynamic exchange with the UK, a back-and-forth that has historically shaped genres like garage and dubstep. While garage’s roots trace to the U.S., it evolved into UK garage and bassline across the Atlantic, just as dubstep blossomed in Britain before reverberating in the United States and gaining global momentum. What makes the American scene uniquely compelling, however, is its ability to reinvigorate these genres with bold, homegrown energy—breathing new life into familiar sounds. VEIL resonates deeply with this transatlantic synergy, describing her music as a fusion of global influences refined into a distinct sonic identity. For VEIL, it’s proof that cross-pollination doesn’t dilute tradition—it amplifies creativity, allowing artists to carve out niches that feel both fresh and rooted in shared musical DNA. “My journey with bass music has always been deeply tied to the UK sound. Back in my early DJ days—pre-USBs, when I was spinning CDs—my first tracks were all UK dubstep: deep, dark, 140 BPM stuff. I’ve been a fan of artists like Truth for over a decade and even attended the first Dubstep showcase. That UK influence has always been a part of my sound, even before the recent drum and bass wave hit the U.S. I got into drum and bass through Dayla Moon, a pioneer in the American scene who’s been throwing Moon Tribe gatherings in the desert for over 20 years. She’s a close friend and collaborator, and hearing her spin drum and bass was a game-changer for me. It inspired me to start incorporating it into my sets, and now it’s a staple in my performances. When I first started playing drum and bass at bigger shows post-2020, some crowds weren’t sure how to react. But over time, especially with younger audiences, the heavier, faster tracks started to resonate. Now, I could play a full drum and bass set, and the crowd would love it. It’s been incredible to see how the U.S. scene has embraced it, even though artists like Wilkinson, Overview, and Critical are keeping it authentically UK. Their releases are so inspiring—I’m lucky to be on their promo lists and get early access to their tracks. It’s fueling my own drum and bass EP, which I’m really excited about.” Following the album’s release, VEIL embarked on a series of shows where she had the opportunity to showcase her music in its fullest form. However, it was towards the end of 2024 that she truly solidified her place among the industry’s elite, gracing some of the biggest stages, including Radiance, Reflections, and Cyclops Cove 3. Sharing the lineup with some of the most influential names in the scene, VEIL delivered electrifying performances that left a lasting impact. Reflecting on the experience, she describes the feeling as nothing short of surreal—an unforgettable moment in her journey as an artist. “This year was absolutely mad—packed with surreal moments. And December was no different! Playing in the middle of the LED wall at Radiance was a dream come true. I felt like I was floating in my visuals! St. Louis for NYE was rowdy as usual; I got to meet so many new people, and the venue had a proper underground rave vibe. I absolutely love curating sets for those kinds of nights.” For VEIL, this new chapter isn’t just about music—it’s about creating experiences that resonate on a deeper level. The new year heralds a fresh start, one brimming with boundless creativity and fearless experimentation. Known for her ability to seamlessly blend genres and push sonic boundaries, VEIL is poised to take her artistry to even greater heights in the coming months. “I’m really excited to work with a vocalist. I have a childhood friend—one of the best singers I’ve ever heard—who doesn’t do music professionally, but I’d love to get her on a track. Lately, I’ve been super motivated by drum & bass, and it’s a sound I want to explore more, along with different BPMs.” Whether she’s crafting intricate soundscapes in the studio or delivering high-energy performances on stage, VEIL’s commitment to pushing the envelope remains unwavering. This year, she is set to dive deeper into uncharted territories, experimenting with new sounds, collaborating with visionary artists, and continuing to redefine what bass music can be.

[GrooveCartel] In the Shadows of Sound Met Len Faki and dubspeeka’s “Mod 3”
Deep in the dark side of modern techno, where raw electricity meets sound design for buildings, a new joint masterpiece has come to light. Len Faki and the mysterious dubspeeka (aka Darren Beale) worked together on “Mod 3,” which was released through Hardspace. It’s not just another techno track; it’s a lesson in building atmospheric tension and subliminal grooves. The track builds up like a midnight revelation in Berlin’s concrete caverns, where dubspeeka’s deep sound design skills, honed over years of drum ‘n’ bass work with Kosheen, meet Faki’s famous understanding of how to make a dancefloor work. It turns into a hypnotic journey that talks in the language of underground places, where darkness is used as a way to become one with everything. At its core, “Mod 3” is a test of how to hold back and let go. The track builds with the slowness of an old storyteller, laying a base of bass frequencies that sound like they come from the ground. The lack of vocals isn’t a limitation; it was chosen on purpose so that the mechanical poetry of the synthesizers can tell their own story across the frequency range. Each carefully made part fits perfectly together, which shows how carefully both artists work with sound design. Len Faki continues to expand the Hardspace series with a new release of personal edits crafted for use in his own DJ sets. This latest addition shows Faki’s meticulous approach to reworking tracks that have shaped his sets, blending classic vibes with his signature style. On the A-side, Faki revisits Dubspeeka’s Mod 3 and Mod 4, released in 2017. The Harspace reworks pick up on the brooding atmosphere of the original productions and build upon the dark, cinematic vibes. Faki also considerably tweaks the energy level on both tracks, ramping up not only in speed but also adding his trademark percussive pummeling to tailor these tools for peak-time play. Flipping to the B-side, he turns his attention to Fanon Flowers’ Chicago-Detroit Part 1 and Part 3. These cuts first appeared on Studio Sound in 2010, as part of a series that paid homage to the pioneering sounds of Chicago house and Detroit techno. Both cuts exhibit extremely raw machinist grooves with a sparse analogue jam charme. Embedding the originals’ gritty textures and melodic nuances into his edits, Faki highlights their jacking qualities and infuses both tracks with a renewed sense of urgency, creating tension and release as you would expect from one of his sets. “Mod 3” doesn’t completely change the way technology works, but it does make the plan better. This track can change things when played in small, cozy spaces where every frequency can be felt as well as heard. Some DJs will play this kind of music when the night needs to go from just dancing to a state of collective transcendence and the crowd is ready to melt into the beat and atmosphere. One thing that makes this game stand out is that it keeps your attention without using cheap thrills or boring builds. Instead, it works like a slowly tightening coil, with each turn adding new layers of tension and release that speak to techno’s main promise: using sound to create different worlds. [EDMTunes] Ferry Corsten And Ruben de Ronde (As NRG2000) Deliver Trance Gem ‘New Inner Way’
The A State Of Trance guys join forces for a proper Trance belter. Trance truly is back. We’ve seen it time and time again with acts such as SUPERSTRINGS, Amy Wiles, and Ben Hemsley bringing the former King of Dance back to its very deserving throne. One of these heroes is Ferry Corsten, who actually joined forces with the iconic Ruben de Ronde to deliver a brand-new, pleasantly-old-school tune: ‘New Inner Way‘. Ferry Corsten has been at the forefront of Dance music for decades. He’s particularly well-known for producing influential Trance music, especially during the 1990s and 2000s, shaping the genre. He has released music under various aliases, including System F, Veracocha, and Gouryella. He’s recently gone all-in with Classic Trance once again, giving us lovers an absolute feast of a treat. Ruben de Ronde, on the other hand, is a well-known Dutch DJ, producer, and radio host, particularly prominent in the Progressive and Trance music scenes. He’s known for his atmospheric and emotive sound, working as a DJ and producer with collaborations and remixes for various artists. He runs his own record label, Statement!, as well as having a constant presence in Armada. ‘New Inner Way’ A clubbier, more up-tempo follow-up to ‘Bloodstream’, ‘New Inner Way’ sees Ferry and Ruben kicking it up a notch. For a start, de Ronde called his subalias NRG2000 for this. And the rest of the magic comes from simply hitting ‘Play’ and losing yourself in the craze that is this song. And I mean it in the absolute best way possible. From the nostalgia-invoking synthwork to the title referencing a street in Rotterdam famous for housing many vinyl stores back in the day, this track pays homage to the past times every new track is rooted in. And it shows. The dry percussion and fast-paced rhythms can only be borrowed from the 90s and early 2000s. The track is yet another treat for all of us who had been missing this kind of Dance music for eternal years. [EDMTunes] Deep House Duo Dr. Romance Unleash Debut Single, ‘Chemistry’
The future on production grounds looks very bright for the American act. Fridays are for new music, we know that already. And on that note, we’ve got a very interesting project to share with you: the debut release of New Orleans-bound duo Dr. Romance. Their much-awaited first track, ‘Chemistry‘, has just seen the light of day. As one of the core motivators behind the city’s flourishing House music sphere, Dr. Romance — formed by Dr. Jax and Romancing The Stoned — have cemented their status as leading organizers and resident DJs in the market. Their premiere piece displays the unique vibrancy and bond that have turned them into a familiar name in the New Orleans after-dark scene. Over the last few years, Dr. Romance have played alongside artists such as GORDO, Noizu, SIDEPIECE, Chris Lake, Zeds Dead, Nostalgix, and Malaa, while growing their promotion enterprise, Pure Intentions Entertainment (P.I.E.). You could say these guys know a thing or two about the industry, and the time came for them to venture into production too. ‘Chemistry’ Soft, yet powerful at the same time, ‘Chemistry’ showcases a beautifully paired contrast of piano lines and washed-out vocals over a strong beat, dominated by a kick resemblant of the 90s Technotronic arrangements, but used for something much more melodic and thought-provoking, in a way. You’ll hear many borrowed elements from Trance, such as the immersive atmospheres and the sawtooth arpeggios, which only add another layer of complexity to the piece. All in all, it’s a pretty solid debut, coming from a duo who know the outs-and-abouts of the scene. And as stated at the beginning of the article, the future is bright for them on production grounds. Listen to Dr. Romance‘s debut release ‘Chemistry’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below. [EDMTunes] Steller Announces Debut Headline Tour, The Here & Now Tour
Her first-ever large-scale tour comes alongside important talks about mental health. Steller, a young aritst who’s blowing up in the Bass music scene, has just announced her first-ever headline tour — the Here & Now Tour —, kicking off in April 2025. She’s got over 15 shows lined up, from clubs to big festivals, and she’s using this big moment to help others in the process. She’s teamed up with To Write Love On Her Arms (TWLOHA), a charity focused on mental health, to bring these conversations to all stops in her tour. It all starts in her hometown, Fort Lauderdale, at Kemistry on April 11th. She’ll have awesome support acts alongside her, like Mocha, Gardella, and AG, who she actually did a track with, ‘Digital Delusion’. Steller is then heading all over the US and Canada, playing at places like Soundcheck in D.C., Big Pink in Detroit, and Wish Lounge in Atlanta. You can also catch her at big festivals like EDC Las Vegas and Beyond Wonderland. This tour comes after a really big year for her. She’s been supporting names like Zeds Dead, Excision, and Ravenscoon, and she sold out her first Denver headline show in 2024. Focusing on releases, she’s been delivering quite heavily as well, including EPs on Mersiv’s and Subtronics’ labels. I have been working toward this moment since I started the Steller project five years ago. Every step along the way has led to this, and I am incredibly elated and grateful to be embarking on my first headline tour. Naming it the ‘Here & Now Tour’ seemed extremely fitting — some of the only moments I feel truly present are when I am performing, attending a show, or creating music, and my goal is for fans to experience that same sense of presence. I am also thrilled to debut a collection of new music throughout the tour, making each stop a fully immersive experience for everyone who attends. -Steller Founded in 2006, TWLOHA is a movement dedicated to presenting hope and providing resources for those struggling with depression, addiction, self-injury, and suicide. Over the past two decades, the organization has worked with some of the biggest names in music and events, like Insomniac and Warped Tour, to elevate mental health awareness to the forefront of both communities. Through this partnership, Steller will further that mission, using her platform to foster conversations and distribute information on how fans can connect to resources and safe spaces. [EDMTunes] JAXOMY And Conor Maynard Collaborate On ‘Pedro’ Follow-Up, ‘She’s So High’
This one may make you want to dance nonstop — or watch some nostalgic reels. A collaborative endeavour has yielded a new and striking release, out now via Ultra Records. ‘She’s So High‘ is the name of this composition, which links Berlin-based DJ/producer JAXOMY and British singer/songwriter Conor Maynard. A meticulously produced Dance Pop track, this one is designed to achieve widespread auditory engagement. And it will, for all we know. The artists behind ‘She’s So High’ are often praised for having learnt to ride the wave of the Internet in their favour. You may have become familiar with the name JAXOMY — or at least his music. Originating from Berlin, he contributes a high-energy Future House aesthetic, enriched by a broad spectrum of musical influences, encompassing both dynamic House rhythms and memorable melodic structures. He went absolutely viral last year with ‘Pedro‘, a fun take on the Italian Pop classic, which has achieved over 350 million streams, attained the apex of Spotify’s Global Viral Charts, and received quadruple platinum certification. On the other hand, Conor Maynard’s professional trajectory kicked off on YouTube, establishing him as a pioneering artist who successfully transitioned from digital platform acclaim to mainstream recognition. His subsequent career has been characterized by significant growth, encompassing a chart-topping album, extensive international tours, prestigious awards, and collaborations with esteemed artists such as Pharrell Williams, Rita Ora, Ne-Yo, and Frank Ocean. ‘She’s So High’ This debut collaborative project, ‘She’s So High’, is constructed to evoke a potent response, seamlessly integrating JAXOMY’s refined production techniques with Maynard’s distinctive vocal delivery. The resulting sonic architecture presents a synthesis of radio-compatible polish and festival-grade dynamism. The track is a fun listen — and also a very unique one. You will instantly recognise the swift rhythms you heard last year accompanying that spinning racoon video where ‘Pedro’ was rinsed, so it’s an instant dose of energy. Meanwhile, the vocals make the song an all-round hit, which first strikes with its instrumental, and then gives you a vine to hold on to and come back to over and over again. [EDM.com] Mike Posner and Swedish House Mafia Turn Reflection Into Release on "Underneath It All": Listen
Mike Posner has always been a seeker—of wisdom, of reinvention of a deeper connection to music and self. His new track, "Underneath It All," co-produced by Swedish House Mafia, is another chapter in that transformative journey. The opening moments of "Underneath It All" are unhurried and deliberate. Swedish House Mafia establish a brooding atmosphere, allowing Posner's ageless voice to emerge like a distant mantra and intone a reflective affirmation: "The exciting thing is it’s only the beginning." What follows is a gradual crescendo where melodic house synths bubble beneath the surface before breaking open into a dynamic, pulsating groove. Take a listen below. Dance music has always been a vehicle for transformation for Posner, the voice behind "I Took a Pill in Ibiza," the hauntingly self-aware anthem that became a cultural touchstone. But his ties to the genre extend far beyond that singular hit. He shared a creative connection with Avicii, another artist whose contributions to EDM frequently crossed between euphoria and introspection. With "Underneath It All," Posner continues that legacy, merging his reflective songwriting with the grand, cinematic vision of Swedish House Mafia’s Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso and Steve Angello. You can listen to Posner's new album, The Beginning, below via Spotify and find it on other streaming services here.
