San Pacho Delivers House Heater ‘Party People’ On Matroda’s Label Terminal Underground
With consistent releases of club-ready anthems, San Pacho is one of the fastest growing artists in house music. Growing up in Croatia, this skilled producer has created a unique style of tech house that is opening new doors for up-and-comers. Debuting his project in 2019, Pacho has already dropped songs on the prominent labels of Confession, UKF, Dim Mak, and more. Pacho’s signature sound as an artist has turned the heads of electronic music’s top performers, such as Martin Garrix, Alesso, Tiësto, DJ Snake, Diplo, and many others. He has also worked alongside Wax Motif and fellow countryman Matroda on viral track “La Pasion”. With “La Pasion” becoming a global club banger, Pacho’s originals “Amor” and “Elektro” climbed to the top of Beatport’s charts. Continuing his prodigious success throughout 2022, Pacho is back with his new single “Party People”, which is out on Matroda’s label Terminal Underground. Discussing the makings of the track, Pacho says, “‘Party People’ is a track I made with the aim of making the most hype live track in my arsenal. The vocals before the drop shouting and calling for the crowd and the euphoric drop is just perfect for a festival track or a pleaser for the hype crowd.” Starting with an energetic vocal, “Party People” utilizes elements of tribal and deep-tech to forge a rhythmic bassline. Its buildup is layered with funky sounds, echoing effects, and a barrage of snare drums that will hype up any crowd. Embracing Pacho’s distinguished recipe for a groovy tech house anthem, “Party People” infects listeners with a burning desire to dance. This article was first published on Your EDM. Death Dealers Anonymous and Dr. KattyWhompus Join Forces On Genre-Fusing Single ‘God Bless The Dealers’
Death Dealers Anonymous and Dr. KattyWhompus are two upcoming artists that are quickly rising to the top. Their interstellar personas create a sense of mystery and excitement towards their productions, which is carried on through their unique style of experimental bass. In their new track “God Bless The Dealers”, heavy bass collides with hard rap for a captivating result. The track features hypnotic rap lyrics that provide a solid framework for progressions of bass and other sound components to be laid on. With a buildup that’s overflowing with energy, a massive drop comes out of nowhere, sweeping the listener off their feet. Grimey dubstep suddenly arrives in waves, coercing the song’s audience to break out dance. By merging elements of trap, dubstep, and rap, “God Bless The Dealers” is an anthem fit for any crowd, from warehouse raves to festival main stages. The single showcases Dr. KW and Death Dealers Anonymous’s creativity and expertise in sound design. Dr. KW is on point when she says the track is, “ like a John Wick flick but just the scenes with guns.” Get ready to headbang to this bombardment of bass and lyrical genius. Shallou Stuns Audiences with His Latest Track, ‘Save Some Room’
It’s always a special moment when the melody and composition of a track can convey so much emotion. Such an example is the latest mesmerising single of Shallou, ‘Save Some Room’. Dropping on the FADER label you can expect smooth guitar progressions, atmospheric sound design and the classic Shallou pure emotive vocals. Following up the incredible collaboration with ayokay, ‘Us’, ‘Save Some Room’ builds on the same established emotive compositions with seriously spell binding vocal melodies. My personal favourite is the winding sax in the background after the second chorus taking every listener to a new dimension. Shallou is making a mark for himself as a singer on this record and we are here for it! Commenting on this inspiring anthem he states: “I wasn’t myself for a while even after the worst of the pandemic subsided. I wrote an EP about following an internal ‘guiding light’ back to the shore of my life, where I left off. The lyrics reflect the fact that I feel i’m getting better, and I just hope those I love and even my fans can accept me again. I’m ready for a new adventure and to find out what’s next for my life.” This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Shallou Stuns Audiences with His Latest Track, ‘Save Some Room’

MitiS releases new ‘Together’ EP on Ophelia with Ray Volpe & Linney, Amidy, and Crystal Skies
MitiS returns to Ophelia Records with his first multi-track release since his 2021 sophomore album Lost, and it’s certainly worth the wait. Together sees him teaming up with Ray Volpe on “Don’t Look Down” featuring Linney, a beautiful and thrashing melodic/heavy one-two punch. While it’s a bit formulaic in construction, following in the footsteps of Seven Lions’ “Island,” the two producers and Linney forge their own path. Apart from “Don’t Look Down,” we also get “It’s All You” with Amidy and “Youth” with Crystal Skies, which are more in line with MitiS’s past releases. The EP traverses through heart-warming dance-pop, head-turning heavy dubstep, and sonically blissful melodic bass. The release comes amid MitiS’ heavy touring schedule featuring slots on huge shows including North Coast Music Festival, Imagine Music Festival, Red Rocks, and Groove Cruise, to name a few. RÜFÜS DU SOL dispel rumors of a break-up, confirm they’re “just getting started”
Yesterday, rumors going around on Twitter centered around a video taken out of context led to many fans asking if RÜFÜS DU SOL was breaking up or not. At one point during their show at the Hollywood Bowl on Sunday, Tyrone Lindqvist said, “Tonight is very special because it marks the end of the chapter for us as a unit. I just feel really blessed we get to share tonight with you guys.” A video of the moment was uploaded to social media, but was part of a larger speech to the crowd that didn’t make the cut. The most likely explanation of the quote in question is that the group members are no longer all living in Los Angeles at the same time. But more to the point, RÜFÜS shared some photos later last night of the show on Instagram and wrote in the caption: “P.S we’re just getting started.” Clearly, they saw the hubbub and questions on social media and wanted to set the record straight. You can listen to their latest album, Surrender, below. Photo via Derek Fallon This article was first published on Your EDM. Kaskade & deadmau5 team up with The Moth & The Flame for latest Kx5 single, “Alive”
Kaskade and deadmau5 continue their sonic exploration as Kx5 with their latest single, “Alive,” featuring The Moth & The Flame. As the duo have released singles, “Escape” to “Take Me High” to “Alive,” they’ve demonstrated a core musical signature while providing context and experimentation within it, owing to their decades of combined artistry and mastery in the genre. With “Alive,” they continue to edge a little darker with each single, this time bringing just a touch of emotive rock into the mix with The Moth & The Flame, who previously collaborated with Kaskade on “Haunt Me” in 2020. An album has been confirmed, so you can expect to hear all of these singles in greater context, potentially before the end of the year, but no release date has been announced. Your EDM Q&A: IMANU’s Style Continues to ‘Unfold’ With Latest Album on Deadbeats
A lot of drum & bass fans can remember back in late 2017 when Jonathon Signal made the not-so-subtle switch from that moniker to IMANU and the shock waves it caused, not becuase of the name change but because of the announcement that he would no longer be focusing solely on D&B. It’s becoming less and less rare nowadays for artists to straddle genres or make a cheeky switch from D&B to halftime or dubstep or even to dabble in straight beats like techno, but back then it was nearly unheard of. We also didn’t quite know yet what this switch would mean for an artist who, at the time, seemed to be a dyed-in-the-wool D&B artist. Five years and a huge number of very varied releases later, we now know that Jonathan as IMANU never planned to completely abandon D&B but he certainly wanted to branch out, trying his hand at everything from trap to bass house to R&B. Not just trying, really, but succeeding and building a bass music brand that really defies genre. IMANU is now bigger than the sum of its works, but with the release of his epic album Unfold, out a few weeks ago on September 16 on Deadbeats, this sonic victory lap still has the artist himself wondering where he’s landed. Having been teased for six months since its first single, the decidedly Hudson Mohawke-meets-Arca via FKA Twigs-esque R&B track “It’s Our Destiny” featuring Kučka, Unfold’s release proves that IMANU has managed to hoist himself out of the one-trickiness of the D&B scene and make a comprehensive, multi-genre career that’s more about his own style than placating any one genre. For the most part, he’s also managed to take said D&B scene along for the ride, largely with the help of other pigeonhole-hating labels like Noisia’s Vision Recordings. Anyone who didn’t come along for said ride is foolish, to be honest. IMANU’s bold, emotive work is too good to be bitter about, or so one would think. YEDM caught up with IMANU to chat about the album and where he thinks his work may go in the future. We found that even after all this time and literally rearranging the face of D&B as he has, IMANU can still run into people who just want the same old two-step beat and for him to fall in line behind it. It doesn’t sound like he’s planning to go back any time soon, however, and if Unfold is any indication, IMANU will keep marching to the glitchy, innovative beat of his own genre-stradling drum. Thank goodness for that. Unfold seems to be a sort of journey album, and from the looks of it, it’s still unfolding for you. Why did you think now was a good time to release an LP and what do you feel it says about your journey in music and life over the last few years? I felt like I was riding a wave of momentum and needed to take advantage of it. Ever since my last EP as Signal I’ve been hinting at making other things, and finally took the leap into a bigger project where I showcase that. I hope that people can stop looking at me as a D&B artist and just see me as an artist. There are a lot of collabs and featuring artists on Unfold that run the gamut of styles from What So Not to The Caracal Project. We won’t ask you to choose your favourite on the album but what were a couple of notable experiences in working with all these artists that made the track or experience special for you? To be completely honest, nothing really crazy happened during the creation of the album. Almost everything was done online during the pandemic so there wasn’t really much room for anything weird to happen. Some tracks, like for example the What So Not and DROELOE collabs, have been in the works a lot longer than everything else on the album, whereas Tudor quickly recorded some lines for “Haunt My Mind” so I could hand it in a few hours before deadline. Unfold seems to be a great compendium of all the different styles you’ve been playing with since you started releasing under IMANU. Did you choose Deadbeats because they were the most open to all these styles and genres? It was mainly for the Lambo they promised me! How has it been for you releasing pretty much what you want in the last few years and not being confined by one specific genre? Do you feel like your previous Signal fans have embraced the change? It’s been scary. Whilst I’m very grateful for the support I get online, I’m still quite anxious when it comes to playing multiple genres in my sets, as I still get booked for a lot of D&B shows and then don’t really know what I can get away with. Some crowds can be very tough. Slowly and surely getting there though! There are a lot of nods to R&B and reggaeton on these tracks, as well as a lot of funk. What about these genres inspired you for this album? Rhythm. Coming from a Surinamese/Dutch background and living in one of the most culturally diverse cities in Europe, I’ve always been exposed to lots of different genres, some of which are yet to be pushed to their limits. I’m used to hearing lots of Latin music at family gatherings, radio, on the streets and the odd time I go to a “regular” club. I figured I might as well have a crack at it. There’s a unique vibe to the sound design and vibe of this album. What sorts of programs did you use to get these sounds? Did they come out sounding like what you wanted in your head? Like everyone else, I use boring Serum and Splice, in FL Studio, with a touch of piano. Nothing ever sounds like what I want, which I think goes for most producers, but we have to deal with what we can get. The album and single art for Unfold seems to really match the sounds on the album, with sort of sea-monster-in-a-nebula vibes. Who was the artist and how involved were you in the visual concept? All the artwork was made by Tom Jager, who has also worked on my artworks for my VISION EPs. I gave him quite a lot of freedom, only requesting a certain theme (flowers), and colors (red, black, beige). Almost everything else came from his genius mind. What’s one funny or weird thing that happened while making this album that you can share? Nothing really in particular, but I guess it’s pretty funny that I made most of the music whilst calling and streaming with friends and patrons on Discord. You played a lot of shows during the summer, all while presumably working on the album. Are you planning to finally take a break over the fall/winter season or is more touring/releasing forthcoming? Unfortunately I need to make money to feed my addictions (food and fashion) so there’s no break in sight as it stands! Unfold is out now on Deadbeats and can be streamed or purchased on multiple platforms by clicking here. We recommend running it through at least once on YouTube, as each track has its own gorgeous visualizer. This article was first published on Your EDM. RÜFÜS DU SOL spark rumors of their breakup after Hollywood Bowl show last night
Last night in Los Angeles, RÜFÜS DU SOL lit up the Hollywood Bowl for 17,000 fans during a stop on their Surrender tour in support of their most recent album. At one point during the show, the group took a moment to address the crowd. Tyrone Lindqvist said, “Tonight is very special because it marks the end of the chapter for us as a unit. I just feel really blessed we get to share tonight with you guys.” Rumors have sparked that the trio is breaking up after they finish their current tour, which extends through December and includes two dates at Red Rocks and eight shows in Australia. Which, on that note, it feels weird that they would break up now, rather than at the end of the tour. After all, Lindqvist does say “tonight is very special[…]” The moment @RufusDuSol announced they will be parting ways after this tour #RUFUSDUSOL pic.twitter.com/ELnPdRSu5L — Kevin Suarez (@KSUAREZ_4) October 10, 2022 What seems more likely, or perhaps this is wishful thinking, is the “end of the chapter” that he speaks of is the moment where they get to play such an iconic venue, which he mentions just a few moments later. “This is an iconic venue, and I feel really privileged to be able to play here.” In fact, the video above appears taken out of context, as many in the replies mention that they weren’t done making music at all, they were just finished living in Los Angeles together. Lindqvist is apparently moving to San Diego with his wife and child, who just turned 3 a few months ago, and Jon and James are moving to Miami. Nah that’s outta context. Right before that he was talking about him moving to San Diego and Jon and James moving to Miami. It’s the end of a chapter of them as a unit being based out of LA. They’ll make another album and tour again in a couple years. — Robbie Downing Sr. (@robbiedowningsr) October 10, 2022 The trio has yet to acknowledge these rumors, but they’ll surely clear up any misunderstandings at that time. Until then, you can continue to see them on tour where dates haven’t yet sold out. See shows here. Photo via Rukes.com This article was first published on Your EDM. STRAINJER Releases Hilariously Entertaining Music Video To Debut Single, “Cherry’s Bent”
When word got out that The Golden Pony frontman Timothy Layn was starting a new project, we could hardly contain our excitement. Channeling his love for rock and electronic music into his new band, STRAINJER, they prove to be just as captivating as we could of hoped for, packed with glitzy melodies, catchy pop hooks, and a perfect blend of rock and electronic. It’s fascinating to see the wild and hilarious ideas Timothy comes up with, from stripper cops to playing guitar in the tropics, dodging seagulls and cruising around on his scooter. Timothy explains, “a number of the scenes in the video are about me being in this video game “Grand Theft Auto”, where the player steals cars and motorcycles. Ironically, the scooter which I am driving in the video was actually stolen right after the video shoot! I was so exhausted from the shoot I forgot to lock it up. I was super pissed at the time but can laugh about it now as insurance paid more $ than i bought it for, and I have a new scooter. Which I lock every night!!!!” Watch it for yourself below! Pallas’ Date with Destiny on ‘In The Night’
Leah Sturgis was destined to be Pallas. Pallas’ persona and her first debut single “In the Night” came to fruition from an ethereal dream she had and when she awoke the track was born. Some may call it coincidence, but we would call it more of a prophecy. Prior to this grand awakening, Leah had always been drawn to the allure of artistry, whether it was film, dance, or her love of music. She was first captivated by the art form of dance at the mere age of two and in the years that followed, the hypnotics of rhythm and sound whisked her off to newfound destinations as a performing dancer. By the time Leah reached sixteen, she found herself spellbound in a place she’d never been before, the west coast underground rave scene. The impact it made on her was formidable. From the mystifying soundscapes of San Francisco to the bass laden beats of the Pacific Northwest, Leah’s love for music only deepened. She was profoundly inspired by the sound of 80’s house music originally rooted out of Chicago and Detroit. What initially stemmed as inspiration from experimental pioneers such as Frankie Knuckles and Ron Hardy, ultimately led Leah to begin producing unique tracks of her own. Driven by her passion for deep house and an eagerness to excel, she continued finessing her craft, DJing and throwing parties while building lasting relationships within the underground music scene. At night, she was absorbing and learning about the intricacies of deep house music along side moguls and producers alike and by the time the sun came around, she was tirelessly studying and working on her career in the field of visual arts. Over the years, Leah’s love for filmmaking transpired to her writing, producing, and directing music videos and feature films which include the breakthrough comedy Hard Breakers starring Cameron Richardson and Sophie Monk, and the recent sci-fi thriller Trapped Inn, which stars comedian Matt Rife. Writing and directing became Leah’s primary outlet for creativity, but she was always dreaming about producing her own music. She was bound to become Pallas, the space goddess, and when her date with destiny occurred, her dream became realized. Like we said, In The Night was birthed from her dream state. The song first presenting itself as a harmonious melody with lyrics and after she woke up, she knew this inspiration was something special, but the track would need more – an element just as mystical as what materialized its way from her psyche. She knew just where to turn. With the assistance of powerhouse producer B Martin, accompanied by Crupö, these skilled hands turned a once dreamy melodic track into a banger. With a Classic M1 Organ paired with blaring drums, soft angelic vocals, and a heavy drop to match, In the Night was ultimately brought to where it always belonged – in the light. And out into the world as envisioned. This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: Pallas’ Date with Destiny on ‘In The Night’

Twitter calls out Porter Robinson’s live pianist at Second Sky for harmful beliefs
Yesterday, Porter Robinson announced that he would be performing his Nurture show at Second Sky later this month with a live band. [Premiere] rSUN drops latest trap heater for Insomniac’s Discovery Project, “Don’t Mind”
It’s a pretty special time in bass music when dubstep appears to be stagnating somewhat, and yet trap is experiencing a huge resurgence. With the likes of ISOxo, Knock2, FrostTop and others leading the charge, rSUN is coming up in a big way with his latest release on Discovery Project by Insomniac, “Don’t Mind.” The track begins innocently enough with delicate chords but quickly brings in the bass and grime for a minimal approach that would make Hucci proud. The components are simple enough on their own, but put together they really make something wonderful. “Don’t Mind was a really fun song to make,” says rSUN. I had been going through some writers block and came across the sample you hear in the beginning. I wrote a bass line to it then the whole song started to unravel itself after that.” Check it out below! This article was first published on Your EDM. Mallive Drops Mesmerizing House Single, “Wish I XX Love U” [Truthfully Records]
Starting in 2015 with only “a Macbook and a dream,” Mallive made a name for himself by quickly rising through the ranks of the Future Bass world. Working with Heroic Recordings – the Netherlands-based label that would eventually spawn San Holo and Bitbird – he released a string of singles and the widely celebrated Nogawa EP. 2016 and 2017 saw the release of official remixes for Wolf Colony, Ark Patrol, and even the superstar DJs Vanic and Kap Slap. Then, out of nowhere, Mallive mysteriously disappeared for five years… But now he’s back and we couldn’t be more excited for the first single since his hiatus, titled “Wish I XX Love U“, signed to Truthfully Records. Yet again, Mallive reminds us just how good he is in the studio. No genre can contain his talent, as this time he fuses house and uk garage elements into a mezmerizing result as a pitched vocal lingers swirls to and fro, whisking you away into the beautiful aura of the song. “This song is about intimacy & acceptance. The lyric is ‘wish I didn’t love you, but I do’. To love someone, to become intertwined with another, is terrifying. You are responsible to them, and they, to you. But that’s what it’s all about: to be something more than yourself. So be here, be brave, & love them anyway. – Mallive And on a lighter note, he adds, “oh and I don’t like putting apostrophes in my titles so I just dropped the “didn’t” and put a x for each of the syllables — also so spotify thinks i’m related to Jamie.” Hear it for yourself below! 10 Albums From 2022 To Revisit As We Enter The Slow Winter Months
As we get closer to the end of the year, the rate at which new albums are coming out is going to be falling down and a new touring season is picking up. But, as the months get colder and the days get shorter, as we spend more time inside and with friends and family, we wanted to look back at ten albums from the past year you might have missed or might have just forgotten about to fill your time. We will have a separate Top 10 Albums list at the end of the year, but some of these albums might appear there, as well, so take your time to familiarize yourself now so you can say, “I knew it!” when the list drops. in no particular order Grabbitz – Time Isn’t Real Easily one of our favorite albums of the year, the third album from Grabbitz sees him engage his true self and artistry. This is a brilliant listening experience front to back, though you won’t find a lot of winter themes. If you’re missing the warmer months, check this out. Ookay – VERY SPECIAL! Ookay dropped his second album earlier this year, bringing back his pop/live/EDM crossover to another project. Primarily solo tracks, with a couple collaborations here and there with Rachel Lorin, Daktyl, and Elohim & Flux Pavilion, the album is definitely an easy-listening experience that’s filled with good vibes and playful notes. Calvin Harris – Funk Wav Bounces Vol. 2 This album had so much hype behind it, but it quickly died off after release. Whether that’s due to a short attention span or just overall not-as-stellar singles as the first volume, looking back at the album now, it’s just as great for easy listening and casual company as the first. Moore Kismet – UNIVERSE The debut album from young wunder Moore Kismet couldn’t have come at a more perfect time, as their career and notoriety continues to increase exponentially. Apart from championing POC and queer culture, the 17-year-old black and nonbinary musician and creative has grown by leaps and bounds over the past few years. A debut album is a special thing, and this one in particular is worthy of your attention. Kill The Noise – EMBRACE Waiting seven years for a new album from Kill The Noise felt like torture, but it was so worth it when EMBRACE finally dropped. Beyond once again teaming up with Seven Lions and Wolfgang Gartner and Mija, the album goes through so many genres so effortlessly that it’s impossible to not be reminded of just how good Kill The Noise is and always has been. Adventure Club – Love // Chaos Speaking of waiting a long time for albums, Adventure Club finally released Love // Chaos earlier this year, something they’ve been building to steadily over the past six years. Featuring a staggering 25 tracks clocking in at nearly an hour and a half, the diversity and absolute girth of this album couldn’t be overstated. Lane 8 – Reviver Lane 8 is always perfect when you want to listen to something beautiful and inspiring, without alienating your older, extended family. If your parents or relatives ask what you’ve been doing and listening to this year while chit chatting during the holidays, just give them this and leave it at that, they don’t need to know everything. Alice Glass – PREY//IV Alice Glass began her solo project back in 2014, but it wasn’t until 2017 that she officially announced her departure from Crystal Castles, accusing co-founder Ethan Kath of sexual, physical, and mental abuse. It took another five years for her to drop her official debut solo album, PREY//IV. It’s gritty and raw, and apparent that Crystal Castles was her at the end of the day. But, we move on and so does she. Kavinsky – Reborn It took nine years for Reborn to finally arrive, after Kavinsky had made a name for himself off of, pretty much, just one single — “Nightcall.” The track eclipses any of his other singles in play by a factor of about 12. Still, his notoriety persisted and when he began teasing a new project, all eyes were on him. The reception was lukewarm at best, but upon further listens, Reborn is still a strong entry in his discography, though maybe not as earworm-y. Party Favor – RESET Party Favor has been fighting an uphill battle to get away from his “Bap U” sound for a few years (though his live shows are still as raucous and fun as ever). RESET serves as not only a titular ethos of his career, but also a brilliantly composed and written album that deserves far more praise. As far as flow and pace goes, the album is top-tier among this year’s contenders and coming from one of the scene’s perceived “frat boy DJs,” the shock factor only adds to the enjoyment of the listening experience. Porter Robinson announces Together Live for Second Sky featuring his “Nurture” show with a full band
Only yesterday, Porter Robinson teased some “crazy ass update” about his set at Second Sky. We didn’t expect the reveal to come quite so soon, but we’re not complaining to learn that he’s bringing a full live band for a reimagined Nurture live set later this month. So many EDM artists have performed with a live band before, including Modestep, Rudimental, Louis Futon, Chase & Status, Netsky, and more, so it’s not that it’s revolutionary in that sense. But it is new for Porter and with the way his Nurture live set is structured, we can only imagine that a live band will bring more immersion and, probably, tears to the crowd. Even better, there’s no indication that this is going to be a one-time thing, as he mentions it’s “debuting” at Second Sky. We can hope that the next evolution of the Nurture tour will include the full band going forward. For those going to Second Sky, get ready as it’s coming October 29. ACRAZE avoids monotony with first single since Do It, To It, “Believe”
When ACRAZE first dropped “Do It, To It” last year, the speed at which it became a global dance hit resulted in absolute whiplash. After being teased out in live sets for a couple months, the release saw the producer skyrocketed to stardom along with 9.5m monthly listeners on Spotify (at time of publishing). Over the past year, the song has received remixes by everyone from Tiësto to Sub Focus to Subtronics, keeping it alive far past what anyone thought it was capable of. The big question on everyone’s mind: how was ACRAZE going to follow it up? After winning iHeartRadio’s Best Dance Song Of The Year, no one would be at fault thinking he’d try and follow it up with the same sort of party-centric single. However, in the opinion of this writer, he did the exact right thing by toning it down and going more melodic for his follow-up, “Believe” featuring Goodboys. “On your journey to success, it’s inevitable that you will hear ‘no’ more than ‘yes,’” says ACRAZE. “Believing in myself when no one else did was what I did best. This song is a true representation of what it felt like in the low moments of my life. I hope you guys enjoy ‘Believe’ as much as we enjoyed making it.” Fans will recognize Goodboys from their collaborations with Meduza, “Lose Control” and “Piece Of Your Heart,” as well as “Goodbye” with Imanbek. Star Monster Drops Trippy, Bass Centric EP, ‘Butterscotch Candy’
Hailing from Madison, Wisconsin, bass producer/DJ Phil Parhamovich, better known as Star Monster, is a multi-instrumentalist who blends elements of experimental hip-hop with high energy dubstep. First debuting in 2017, Star Monster has captivated audiences with his dynamic sound and hypnotizing live sets, which have taken him to marquee festivals like Burningman, Emissions, and Stilldream, in addition to his own solo tours throughout North America and beyond. Star Monster today stands at the upper echelon of bass music culture as an in-demand producer and touring act. On his Spooky Tunes Vol 2 original mix (October 2020)—premiered on industry leading YouTube channel The Dub Rebellion— Star Monster expands his sound into the outer limits of bass music. Widely known for his idiosyncratic, third-eye-opening sets, Star Monster has delivered mind-bending performances at some of the world’s leading festivals and marquee events. Now, this interstellar bass wizard is here to overload the human senses with his newest five track LP titled ‘Butterscotch Candy‘. It’s a trippy, bass fueled journey that is not easily forgotten. “Check The Flow” sets the tone, kicking things off with spine tingling melodies and head-banging energy to get you lost in the music instantly. “The Mirror Dimension” follows, which feels reminiscent of legends like Pretty Lights, as Star Monster seamlessly melds a high pitched sample into an electrifying arrangement. The EP’s title track comes next, taking listeners down the rabbit hole, inserting high-octane dnb elements and dubstep half time breaks that seem to lift this track into another dimension. Capping off the EP is “Let Go Of Your Mind“, an aural candy land of psychedelic melodies and grooves driven by punchy drums and incessant bass wubs. “My goal was to take you on a mystical and self reflective journey while creating a feeling of discovery and bliss in your hearts, minds and booties.” – Star Monster Listen below!
