Nexxus 604 Encourages You To ‘Free Your Consciousness’ With His Enchanting PSY Trance EP
The latest release from Nexxus 604 is the third EP, which came out on February 10, 2024. Free your Consciousness is dedicated to psychedelics as a phenomenon in our lives that opens the secret doors of consciousness and saves us from stereotypes. The single track, which bears the same name as the album “Free Your Consciousness,” calls us to insight, getting rid of stereotypes and moving towards dreams, to realize our hidden talents. Free your consciousness, thoughts globally and act in such a way as to make your dreams come true GETTING TO KNOW (ARTIST NAME HERE) Introduce yourself and your project I’m Dmitry Smirnov, also known as Nexxus, and I was born in Russia. My parents were doctors, my mother is Ukrainian and my father is Russian. Generations of my grandfathers were fond of music, my maternal great-grandfather Spiridon Polishuk went through World War 2 and was a famous musician who played wind instruments. As a child, I graduated from music school in the Accordion class and studied for 7 years. In 2006, after visiting a trance open-air, I decided to become a DJ and began purchasing DJ, sound and lighting equipment. I began organising events and performed at them. Soon, I began to be invited to perform at various events. In the period from 2008 to 2012, I managed to perform on the same stage with many famous artists. At the same time, I developed a company providing technical support for events. I traveled extensively between 2009 and 2021, spending more than 1.5 years in India, studying spiritual practices and traveling by road by motorcycle, bus and train. The number 604 in my nickname is not accidental; it symbolizes GOA – this is a special place in my life, where I’ve spent many wonderful days. Geographically, Goa is located in India, and is a historical place where the first hippies founded their settlements back in the 70s and began to live a free life, where, as a result of complete freedom, such a genre of music as Psychedelic trance was formed. Explain what musical genre fits you best Psychedelic trance / Progressive trance / EDM Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you? In the mid-90s, my mother gave me a cassette player and a set of dream trance records for my birthday. A couple of them were DJ Dado and Robert Miles, with legendary tracks known throughout the world. At that time I was still studying at a music school and, of course, music of this level became something inspiring. What kickstarted your music career? One of my friends invited me to an open air in the forest, at the time, I didn’t know that I would want to connect my life with this. The morning after that night in September 2006, I decided to become a DJ. Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time Psychedelic trance has always been the main style for me, because it’s the only music that takes us to the farthest corners of the universe, sometimes abruptly bringing us back to earth and introducing us to ourselves. No other music does the same, at most other music brings pleasure from listening, but to get the same effect out of trance can only be achieved by engaging in spiritual practices. Of course, I also understand other styles of music, sometimes I play techno, progressive house, mostly more underground movements, but as I say, trance is the main music of my whole life. Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers? You need to do what you love, what you are willing to do even for free. Sooner or later, success cannot help but come if you do something sincerely. How do you nurture your industry relationships? I just make my music, sets and videos, post it online, and then people watch it and listen. Sometimes interesting guys write to me and offer to do something together. Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey? I have a team of my friends, with whom I create my channel with. Of course, such a volume of work cannot be done alone so that the result is of sufficient quality. Therefore, I am grateful to my team for their coordinated work and quality results. Also, of course, my mentors, who help me with technical difficulties during the production process. Name 3 songs you love and what they mean to you + Youtube links Rammstein – Keine lust I love Rammstein since my childhood. I have been to their concerts more than once and the power of the energy is simply off the charts. I also try to fill my tracks with high voltage. Electric Universe – Gaijin Rocker From the next two tracks I started listening to psychedelic trance, and then I liked the combination of electronics and electric guitar, which of course inspired me to create my recent track “Free your consciousness” and generally make this slogan my motto. Skazi – XTC What’s your favourite piece of studio equipment or software? Ableton Live, Ableton push, Beyerdynamic DT900 Pro, Stable Diffusion, ChatGPT 😊 Name your favourite club or festival and how it makes you feel Kazantip in general shaped my worldview in many ways, because this festival was a whole movement of freedom and art. It couldn’t even be called a festival, because it was art in its purest form, without any restrictions. The Republic of Kazantip had all the attributes of a real state and absolutely EVERYTHING and more was possible on its territory! Incredible designs, high level of show programs, all the world’s rave celebrities whose names would take several pages to list considered it an honor to perform there. This event became a significant part of the world rave and was held for more than 20 years. I was lucky enough to visit 8 Kazantips and each of them was different, absolutely indescribable sensations that could only be felt “here and now”. Unfortunately, after Russia captured the Crimean peninsula, where Kazantip was held, the event was stopped. So Kazantip no longer exists, although as the organizers say it never existed, but we just dreamed it all.. The Ozora festival, which is still taking place in Hungary, is of course also a natural phenomenon that is difficult to describe in words, you just need to go and check out the atmosphere. I’ve been there several times and I advise everyone to try it. Burning Man. This is an event that I have been preparing for for 5 years now, and it looks like I will definitely go there this year. I feel ready for it, and my project is part of the preparation. My move to the USA is also one of the steps on the way to Burning Man. Well, even the longest journey begins with the first step, and I’m almost there. We’ll see you there very soon, in 2024! Favourite clubbing memory and who or what did it involve? I have so many of them that it’s hard to choose just one. Perhaps it is enough to visit the territory of Kazantip at 8 am to understand, it’s a pity that it’s not that simple anymore. What famous quote represents you best? The hardest thing is to start taking action; everything else depends only on perseverance. (Amelia Earhart) If you could play at any venue, where would it be and why? I think my “anywhere” would be Burning Man, and I’m already playing there. I’m working on Art Car this year, so dreams are becoming reality right now. Music is….. (explain more) Music is a universal language through which we can communicate. We may be from different countries, have different cultural differences and skin colour, but music unites us because when we hear it, we all feel the same thing. Moreover, it is not even necessary to learn this language; it is embedded in our consciousness from the very beginning. One song you really couldn’t live without and why? I can’t name just one song, because in different situations I can hum completely different songs to myself and there are so many of them that I can’t single out just one. I don’t have a favourite song, I love them all. Namedrop your favourite 5 artists or DJs (past or present) Dj Dado, Robert Miles, Armin van Buuren, Raja Ram (1200 micrograms), Electric Universe. What was your first music memory and how did it fuel your fire? On any dance floor, the most memorable moment is when it’s just you and the music. Achieving this state is what lights my fire. Tell us more about your plans for the future Of course, I’m going to continue to work hard on my content, release music and make videos, and develop my channel on YouTube. I’ve already got a few festival bookings lined up for this year and I plan to perform more in the future. Any worldly advice you’d like to share? Life is the greatest gift of the universe. We live once and we need to believe in our dreams and follow them, then we will live a happy life – and the meaning of life is precisely to be happy. David Guetta and MORTEN “The Future Is Now / The Truth”
David Guetta and MORTEN are back with a vengeance, dropping two scorching new tracks that are setting the stage for their highly-anticipated “Future Rave” musical movement. “The Future Is Now” and “The Truth” see the veteran producers fusing pounding techno grooves with visceral underground elements and speaker-rattling bass lines. Beyond the Mainstream: Discover 10 of the Best Independent Festivals of 2024
In all my years of immersing myself in the UK music party scene, one truth remains constant: Independent festivals reign supreme. Unfortunately, more and more of the live event industry is becoming dominated by enourmous companies like Live Nation and Festival Republic and so, parties which were once havens of freedom have become more and more dominated by dodgy corporate practices. Luckily, we’ve compiled a lineup of the top 10 independent festivals in the nation where you won’t encounter alcohol restrictions, excessive security measures, or exorbitantly priced drinks. 1. Cursus Date: May 24th to May 26th Venue: Mycen Farm in Dorset Opening up our season of fun is Cursus, a tiny music and cider festival located deep in the wilds of wonderfully rural Dorset. Expect to find the best cider you’ve ever drunk, alongside a wonderfully friendly atmosphere and a diverse lineup of talented artists: In 2024 the festival will feature scene stalwarts, Mista Trick Collective, and 3 Daft Monkeys along with the up and coming Millie Manders and the Shuttup as headliners. Caution: The event is tied to a badger cult. If you’re not a fan of these little white and black creatures, this festival might not be your cup of tea. Tickets start from £99 2. Noisily Date: July 11th-14th Place: Leicestershire, United Kingdom Nestled in a magical patch of English woodland, Noisily stands out from the crowd as arguably the best dance music festival in whole of the UK. An ideal spot for enthusiasts of electronic music, whether you prefer house, drum and bass, or psytrance rhythms, this festival offers a diverse musical experience. Featuring a curated lineup of renowned DJs and producers such as Grouch, Eat Static, Dubfire, Bart Skills, and Hospitality, spread across three uniquely crafted stages, the event promises an intimate and memorable showcase. Apart from music, the festival serves as a vibrant artistic realm that honors psychedelic art and culture. At its core is a remarkable community known for its warm and inclusive nature. This event is famed for fostering a welcoming ambiance where individuals connect over shared passions and happiness, transforming strangers into a bonded extended family. Noisily isn’t solely a festival; it stands out as one of the most amiable spots on the planet. Tickets are available from £236.40 3. 2000 Trees Date: July 10th to July 13th Address: Upcote Farm, Withington, Cheltenham, Gloucestershire, GL54 4BL. Its picturesque setting provides an enchanting backdrop, featuring acts showcased on multiple stages nestled amidst lush forests and expansive meadows, delivering a captivating experience that transcends mere musical enjoyment. This year’s roster showcases the renowned Gaslight Anthem, the emotive Manchester Orchestra, punk rock rebels The Chats, storytelling innovator Bob Vylan, energetic Don Broco, and the legendary Frank Turner, solidifying its prestigious reputation. Rain Battered and Shut Down Ultra—But Not Before We Captured These Incredible Images
Not even a teeming onslaught of icy rain could stop the Ultra family from doing what they do best: rave. Ultra Music Festival diehards paid no mind to the torrential downpour, which forced an evacuation on Friday night. Drenched in euphoria and lost in trance-inducing beats, a luminous diaspora of audacious ravers sparked to life across Bayfront Park, their hair whiplashing like diamond dust. Undaunted by Mother Nature's soggy tantrums, legions of neon warriors turned puddles into makeshift stomping grounds as Tiësto and SLANDER soundtracked the tempestuous mayhem. We were on the ground to capture the one-of-kind festival experience prior to its cancellation. Check out our exclusively gallery below. All photos for EDM.com by Kelly Knisel. Axel Haube’s Dark and Hypnotic New ‘Virgo’ EP
German techno producer Axel Haube has released a new EP called Virgo, including Dreamers, the second song, and a remix from VNTM. The EP kicks off with the title track “Virgo” and it sets the vibe immediately with these creepy, ominous synth lines layered over tribal-like beats. The harmonies have this haunting, trance-inducing quality to them too. It’s mysterious and suspenseful from the first few bars. That ominous, heavy groove continues into the second song “Dreamers.” While it’s maybe a touch more melodic than the opener, with some cool arpy synths swirling around, the core of the track is still built on these deep, foreboding vibrations. Haube uses some ghostly vocal samples too that add to the overall sense of dread and intrigue. Then for the finale, Haube teams up with VNTM for a totally stomping techno remix of “Virgo.” They really lean into the dark, hypnotic aspects of the original, with these winding synth lines that almost seem to burrow into your brain. The kicks are absolutely punishing too. It’s a seriously hard, unrelenting remix primed to wreck the darkest dance floors. Virgo feels like Haube took listeners on this compelling, cinematic descent into murkier sonic realms. From the cryptic opening title track to the subterranean deepness of “Dreamers” to the sheer force of the VNTM remix, he creates these richly layered, atmospheric techno grooves that just envelop you in their hypnotic grasp. It’s an immersive, almost bewitching EP that looks set to be a real techno head-turner. I’m definitely going to be revisiting this one. Miami Brickell residents are angry with Afterlife in Virginia Key
The debut of Afterlife at Miami Marine Stadium, Virginia Key brought far more headaches than beats. The Afterlife event’s thunderous bass lines and blinding light shows kept the neighborhood awake and on edge for two straight nights. Residents reported that the music was so loud that “It shook me to my core“. It was “just a constant, pounding assault on your senses until 2 a.m.“ Despite attempts to intervene by lowering volumes and dimming lights, the party raged on, much to residents’ chagrin. New update regarding the Afterlife Music Festival pic.twitter.com/nibUUQJCV1 — Damian John Pardo (@Damianpardo8) March 22, 2024 Residents of Brickell Key reported that “the vibrations were so strong, I could feel them pulsing through my walls“. While Afterlife drew a crowd of around 14,000 electronic dance music fans to Virginia Key’s tight confines, that was little consolation for beat-weary residents just hoping for a decent night’s sleep. Many described the overall experience as a “total nightmare.” Other local residents reported that “the logistics were an absolute mess.” Virginia Key is an island in front of Brickell. It is connected to the mainland by only one bridge. The lack of logistical planning brought terrible traffic snarls, a lack of rideshare availability, and what the residents perceived as a disorganized operation by festival organizers. The Brickell Homeowners Association dubbed the disruptions “intrusive” and “excessive,” demanding accountability. Map showing the only access route to Virginia Key from Brickell Miami As the first social events restart on Virginia Key following Afterlife’s tumult, neighborhood tensions are reaching a fever pitch. The community’s tolerance for sacrificing their tranquility, many insist, has finally reached a limit. The city now weighs how to strike a balance between hosting lucrative events and preserving residential quality of life. For Virginia Key, it seems the sliders may need to be adjusted to turn down volume levels and keep light shows in check. Commissioner Damian Pardo released several statements on X (formerly Twitter) about the situation. Similar issues were encountered some years back for the Ultra Music Festival. The massive event in 2019 had to be relocated to Virginia Key because Miami Downtown residents have expressed the same issue as this time. In the end, a deal has been finalized between Ultra Music Festival organizers, the City Of Miami, and Residents of Miami Downtown to bring the festival back to Bayfront Park. Because of the deal, the festival now follows a series of strict regulations including live noise measurement in the downtown area to keep a balance between the tranquility of the neighbors and the ability for festivalgoers to party. These strict regulations didn’t apply to Afterlife in Virginia Key. Otherwise, even die-hard music fans worry the neighborhood’s extraordinary patience with thunderous, all-night parties may soon run out of rhythm. Ultra Miami Opens Doors, Day 2 Is On
Fear not, for your favourite U-shaped-logo festival is back on track. Ultra Music Festival is back! Of all places they’ve thrown a party at, home seemed to be the most challenging in a long while. Miami proved to have adverse weather that felt like would threaten the festival, yet, after sending attendees home earlier last night under strong winds and lightning strikes, the festival managed to get Bayfront Park ready for Day 2 of the massive gathering. Right as we speak, acts like Miss Monique and KSHMR are already filling the stages with people, mere minutes after doors opened at 4 pm EDT. As the day goes on and is off to a pretty solid start, let’s go through the most crucial events of the past hours: 1. Hardwell’s Mainstage Set, Rescheduled For Today By far the most discussed subject on socials after Ultra’s early closing yesterday was what would happen with Hardwell. The star was about to hit the Mainstage decks when the whole situation became too dangerous, and so he couldn’t play his set. He turned to Twitter to express how sad he was. “I’m crying right now, 3 months of work by the team and myself. Wow….“. I’m crying right now, 3 months of work by the team and myself. Wow…. — Hardwell (@HARDWELL) March 23, 2024 And while we saw kind souls like Afrojack openly willing to give their timeslots to him on Sunday, Hardwell himself made a joint post with the festival to deliver the news: he’s playing TODAY, from 7:25 to 8:40 pm EDT. 2. Amelie Lens Megastructure Set, Rescheduled For Today Another act people were eagerly hoping to see was Techno queen Amelie Lens, who was on to close the Megastructure last night. Weather conditions said otherwise. But good news struck again today. She’ll be playing the Megastructure TODAY from 5:00 to 6:30 pm. 3. [LIVE] Watch Hardwell rescheduled to play Ultra Music Festival day 2
One of the biggest stars in the world of electronic dance music will get his shot at Ultra Music Festival after all. Dutch DJ Hardwell has been slotted for a main stage set on Saturday night, making up for his canceled performance on Friday due to dangerous thunderstorms that forced an evacuation of the festival grounds. The confirmation came via X (formerly Twitter) on Saturday afternoon, with Hardwell excitedly announcing “ BREAKING NEWS: @ULTRA MAINSTAGE TONIGHT 7:25 – 08:40!!!!! LFG!!!!!! ” His scheduled 9:15 PM main stage set on Friday’s opening night of the three-day festival in downtown Miami was one of many that had to be scrapped after severe storms rolled through the area. Organizers made the call to clear Bayfront Park and suspend operations as lightning, heavy rain, and high winds created unsafe conditions. In the aftermath on Friday night, a crestfallen Hardwell took to X (formerly Twitter) to express his devastation, writing “I’m crying right now, 3 months of work by the team and myself. Wow….“ The renowned Dutch DJ had spent months preparing an elaborate production for his Friday night headlining performance at one of the biggest dance music events in the world. But Hardwell and his fans will get a second opportunity on Saturday after Ultra organizers worked quickly to reset the festival schedule and grounds following the storm’s flooding impacts. The rescheduled 75-minute set will take place from 7:25 PM to 8:40 PM tonight on Ultra’s flagship main stage. Hardwell’s high-energy performance should provide an electrifying boost for the festival after a rough start to the weekend. More schedule updates are expected throughout the day on Saturday as Ultra works to accommodate other artists impacted by canceled sets. This is a developing story and schedules are still being finalized. Check back for the latest updates from the Ultra Music Festival grounds in Miami. Chris Lake comments Miami weather and Ultra Music Festival cancellation
Chris Lake and his fellow DJ/producer Fisher have voiced their disappointment after severe weather forced the cancellation of their highly-anticipated back-to-back closing set on the main stage during the first night of Ultra Music Festival in Miami. In a post on social media the morning after, Lake expressed being “completely disheartened” that the duo was unable to deliver their show after months of preparation. “We’d both worked for months in preparation for this show and were so excited about having the responsibility to close the main stage on the Friday,” Lake wrote. “As two guys who love, love, LOVE our genre and style of music, we were proud to have a chance to show that house music had a seat at the table amongst the biggest headline artists in the world of electronic music.” Their set, being billed as Chris Lake b2b Fisher (Under Construction), was one of the many high-profile performances canceled on Friday night after dangerous thunderstorms rolled through downtown Miami. Organizers were forced to evacuate Bayfront Park and shut down the festival for safety. While headliner Tiësto was able to play, Chris Lake and Fisher were unable to take the stage at all before the venue was cleared out. “Most of all we are upset that we weren’t able to provide this experience for you all,” Lake continued in his message to fans. “We don’t play many shows together, but when we do it, we want it to be as special as possible.” DJ Afrojack, who was able to perform earlier on Friday evening before the storms hit, offered to give up his scheduled set time over the next two days to allow either Hardwell or the Chris Lake b2b Fisher group to make up their missed performance. The house music stars ended their statement by saying they hope Ultra will give them an opportunity to “run this back next year“ so they can finally deliver the unique back-to-back performance they had envisioned. Several other big-name DJs also had their sets cut short or outright canceled on Friday night’s opening night of the three-day festival due to the inclement weather. As of Saturday morning, organizers were working to reopen and reset the Ultra grounds at Bayfront Park for the remainder of the weekend after assessing any damage from the storms. More scheduling updates are expected throughout the day on Saturday. Alright, it’s the morning after the night before and we’ve woken up completely disheartened. We’d both worked for months in preparation for this show and were so excited about having the responsibility to close the main stage on the Friday. First Set Cancellations Kick Off Ultra Miami Day 2
After the events of last night, Ultra Music Festival is still working to get Bayfront Park in condition to open to the public. Constant heavy rain, gushes of wind, lightning, and even a tornado alert, all took part in yesterday’s emergency. Doors should have opened two hours ago in normal conditions. Instead, what we have is machine after machine, sucking all possible water out of the dancing areas, cleaning mud, and, well, lines of people eagerly waiting to know when — or if — they’ll be granted access to one of the world’s most anticipated festivals of the entire year. One of the first acts to publically announce their set has been crossed out is Swiss GRAMMY-nominated producer EDX. The artist took to his socials to deliver the unfortunate news. The post reads: “I’m truly sorry to hear that today’s performance at the Ultra Music Festival had to be canceled due to change of hours because of severe weather in South Florida. I had been diligently preparing for this set for nearly a month, even incorporating some fresh ID tracks. It’s disheartening news, and my apologies go out to all my fans who were eagerly anticipating my musical journey today“. In the meantime, Ultra is showing an aura of hope in their most recent statement, assuring they’re working hard to get the festival in pristine conditions for a grand opening this afternoon: Stay tuned for more news. Ultra Music Festival Confirms Day 2 Is A Go
Organizers of the Ultra Music Festival in Miami are working feverishly to prepare the flooded grounds at Bayfront Park and reopen the gates Saturday afternoon following Friday’s abrupt cancellation due to dangerous thunderstorms. In a statement on social media Saturday morning, the festival said: “Hey everyone! We are working hard to prepare the site before opening the doors this afternoon. We will be dancing again soon.“ The announcement comes after Friday night’s headliner performances by Tiesto and others were cut short when severe storms brought lightning, heavy rain, and high winds to the downtown Miami area. Organizers were forced to evacuate tens of thousands of fans from the park for safety reasons. While Saturday’s weather is expected to improve by the afternoon hours, the storms have already caused scheduling changes. DJ/producer EDX took to Instagram to announce that his opening set scheduled for Saturday has been canceled as the festival works to reset operations. The National Weather Service indicates conditions should gradually improve through the day on Saturday, with rain chances diminishing and winds calming after waves of thunderstorms rolled through South Florida on Friday and early Saturday. However, mild rain chances will linger into the evening hours. As of late Saturday morning, no official timeline has been provided for when the Ultra Music Festival grounds will reopen to fans. More delays and schedule changes are possible as organizers inspect for any remaining flooding or damage at Bayfront Park following Friday night’s stormy weather. According to Ultra Music Festival’s officials, day 2 is not canceled. Ultra Music Festival will re-open its gate at 4 PM today, Sunday the 23rd for the Miami 2024 edition and will run extended hours. This means it won’t stop at midnight because of the City’s curfew for public outdoor events but it will go on for a couple of hour more. Tiësto’s Headlining Ultra Set Halted by Heavy Rain Interfering with Equipment
Oh man, it was a crazy night at the Ultra Music Festival in Miami on Friday. The legendary DJ Tiësto was headlining the main stage and in the middle of throwing down one of his trademark massive sets. But then, these insane thunderstorms just rolled in and drenched the entire festival grounds. I’m talking absolute downpours. Water was getting all over Tiësto’s DJ equipment in the booth – his CDJs, mixer, everything. At one point his gear just completely stopped working from all the rain. Despite the total equipment failure, you have to give it to Tiësto, the man is an absolute pro. He tried to wait it out and get things going again once the worst of the storm passed over. But the rain just would not let up. Ultra actually had to make the call to cancel the rest of day one of the festival because of the nonstop downpour. Can you imagine having to shut down freaking Ultra for a night because of the weather? That’s how intense it was. The forecast for today, Saturday, looks just as ugly with more thunderstorms expected to roll through Miami. You have to feel for Tiësto though. He handled the situation like a total champ when his whole setup was getting rained out in front of thousands of people. Kept his cool and did what he could to still try to put on a show. Mother Nature was not messing around in Miami this weekend. She rained on Tiësto’s parade…literally. But he still raved on! Tayak unveils remixes for his song “Delirium Tremens”
With his highly personal first single “Delirium Tremens” out now on SATO Records, Belgian artist Tayak has come on the scene. The song, which came out today with three remix packs, has a deep story about friendship and getting over addiction. As the artist himself says, “Delirium Tremens” was influenced by Tayak‘s time spent helping a close friend deal with addiction. They had a special bond and went through a lot together, and the emotional play shows that. Tayak said, “This song means everything to me.” “It shows the most honest moments, the deepest fears, and finally the hope that got us through a very hard time.” “The fact that my friend beat this disease is nothing less than heroic.” The first version of “Delirium Tremens” came out on March 1, but today Phunkadelica, Senses Of Mind, and Lumoon all put out remix sets of the song. With these new versions, Tayak’s powerful piece takes on new dimensions. Erik Sayers, A&R at SATO Records, was excited: “I felt this record’s impact from the moment it arrived on my desk.” Tayak really knows how to turn deeply personal events into music. We’re so happy to have “Delirium Tremens” launch his career, and we can’t wait for everyone to hear it. By working with the well-known SATO label, Tayak has joined hands with a group known for promoting electronic music that pushes the limits. If “Delirium Tremens” is any sign, the Belgian artist is about to go on a musical journey that is as far-reaching as the relationships that inspired it. You can now hear Tayak’s single and remixes “Delirium Tremens” on all music services. This debut single has a very moving message and is produced very well by Tayak. It feels like it will leave a lasting mark on the dance scene and beyond. The post Tayak unveils remixes for his song “Delirium Tremens” appeared first on The Groove Cartel.

Are Grimes and Anyma (Matteo Milleri) dating? New Romance?
Musician Grimes has gone public with what seems her new boyfriend – none other than DJ/producer Matteo Milleri, aka Anyma, who recently divorced from Italian model Vittoria Ceretti. Ceretti, 25, announced her divorce from Matteo Milleri (known professionally as Anyma) just last June expressing surprise over the split. The former couple had married in a seaside ceremony in Ibiza, Spain, though details of their relationship were kept relatively private. However, Grimes seemingly confirmed her new romance with Milleri over the weekend by posting a romantic photo on Instagram, cozily kissing the DJ and referring to him as her “beauty and the beast.“ The twist? Grimes, 35, and Anyma have previously collaborated professionally. He appeared during her live debut of the album Genesys at the Tomorrowland festival in July 2023 to perform vocals on their co-written song “Welcome to the Opera.” So it seems the working relationship has now blossomed into something more intimate, with the Canadian avant-garde pop artist moving on with Milleri fresh off his divorce from Ceretti after only a few years of marriage. Fans were sent into a frenzy speculating over the new couple’s origins. “Oh I know he’s gonna produce some crazy shit for her” one exclaimed. While another added, “Grimes and Anyma is ah, unexpected but I can definitely see the vibe.“ Neither Grimes nor Anyma have officially confirmed their relationship status. But this Instagram post exchange seems to mark their reunion going public, to the shock of many. Vittoria Ceretti has not yet addressed the new couple, maintaining her typical disciplined low profile. The new romance marks Grimes’ first public relationship since her highly publicized split from billionaire Elon Musk, with whom she had three children. Only time will tell if sparks will truly fly long-term for this new beauty and her beast. The post Are Grimes and Anyma (Matteo Milleri) dating? New Romance? appeared first on The Groove Cartel.

David Guetta to premiere ‘The Monolith’ new show at Ultra Miami
Global dance icon David Guetta presents ‘The Monolith’, his groundbreaking production set in the magical ancient desert setting of AlUla, considered by many one of the wonders of the world. Against a jaw-dropping desert background, the multiple Grammy winner performs a breathtaking, specially-crafted set full of new mashups and edits, while all around him The Monolith’s staggering light show does justice to its historical setting. This is one of the most beautiful places I’ve seen in my life. It’s the beauty, the incredible energy. It’s powerful! – Guetta The artistic direction was supervised by David Guetta, Jean-Guillaume Charvet, and Romain Pissenem for Highscream, the man behind Hi and Ushuaia Ibiza. Fans wanting to see the spectacle in person are in luck, as Guetta will now be bringing the ‘Monolith’ production to Ultra Miami this Saturday. It’s his first time performing the new setup in the US, and he is set to close the Main Stage with an innovative performance. However, the highly anticipated debut of ‘The Monolith’ in Miami faces potential disruption due to the weather. Following heavy rain yesterday and forecasts of thunderstorms today, there are concerns that Ultra may need to cancel day 2 of the festival, as they did with day 1 due to the severe storms. What is David Guetta’s ‘The Monolith’ production? ‘The Monolith’ is David Guetta’s groundbreaking audiovisual performance blending music, lights, and the stunning desert landscape of AlUla, Saudi Arabia. He initially unveiled it in the ancient AlUla desert before planning to bring it to Ultra Miami. Miami Ultra Music Festival cancels day 1. Day 2 uncertain!
MIAMI, FL – Ultra Music Festival’s opening night was canceled after severe thunderstorms rolled through the Bayfront Park venue on Friday, forcing an emergency evacuation of tens of thousands of fans. As a tornado watch loomed over downtown Miami, festival organizers took to social media urging attendees to “calmly leave the park now” due to the approaching line of intense thunderstorms packing lightning, heavy rain, and potentially damaging winds. The emergency evacuation came just as SLANDER was in the midst of his headlining set on the main stage. Just minutes early Tiesto was forced to cut his highly-anticipated performance short as staff scrambled to replace the DJ equipment damaged by the heavy rain. Other top acts like Hardwell and the Chris Lake b2b Fisher (Under Construction) set were completely canceled on Friday night before they could take the stage. In an act of solidarity, DJ Afrojack, who was able to perform earlier in the evening, offered to give up his scheduled set time over the next two days to allow either Hardwell or Chris Lake’s group to make up their missed set. As fans poured out onto Biscayne Boulevard around 9 PM, they were greeted by blinding rain, frequent lightning strikes, and urban flooding from the severe storms. The chaotic shutdown came just hours after eager music fans from around the world had lined up well before gates opened to get prime spots for the sold-out three-day electronic dance music festival. Are Ultra Music Festival Day 2 being canceled as well? Unfortunately, weather forecasts indicate Saturday could bring another round of severe thunderstorms and heavy rainfall to the Miami area, putting day 2 of Ultra in jeopardy as well. The National Weather Service has issued a Flood Watch and Wind Advisory for Miami-Dade County through Saturday evening, with the potential for 3-6 inches of rain, damaging wind gusts, hail, and even a few isolated tornadoes. At this point, no official word has come from festival organizers on potential rescheduling or refunds for ticketholders impacted by the cancellations. Fans are anxiously awaiting updates as another line of dangerous storms takes aim at South Florida on Saturday. EDX announced his Ultra Music Festival set has been canceled. The best case is that the opening hour will be postponed until later in the day as announced by the festival’s official. Unfortunately, the weather forecast indicates heavy rain until 8 PM. This is a developing story, and we will provide updates as they become available regarding the status of the remainder of Ultra Music Festival weekend. EDMTunes New Music Friday – Week 12
Listen to the most flavour-packed tracks we discovered this week. Music makes the world go round. And in that regard, we’re constantly on the lookout for new, exciting tunes to share with our audience. We’ve found some that cause goosebumps, and make you open your eyes and get up from your chair to dance. So put on your best pair of headphones, or turn up your speakers, and enjoy this week’s New Music Friday. Here are our top picks for the best music we came across this week, in no particular order. Mark Maguire – Lost in Now Genre: Uplifting Trance Mark Maguire, everyone. We’re glad to have him back since, if you have a good memory, you might remember his track ‘Destination’ was featured in one of our December NMFs. Well, he’s back for his latest number, ‘Lost in Now‘, yet another Uplifting Trance gem. As with any proper Uplifting tune, you have the wonderfully painted contrast of powerful beats and heartwarming atmospheres, following intense kick-bass combos and ever-growing melodies. If you want a piece of advice: close your eyes for this one. NOMIS (FR) – Killi Genre: Afro House Simon Sebbagh, known in the industry as NOMIS, is a Parisian DJ and Producer. Having grown up loving House and French Dance music in general, he decided to give the production world a shot. With permanent worldwide tours and European residencies, you could say he’s made it. Quite the groovy tune, ‘Killi‘ depicts Afro House of the highest level, to deliver an irresistible beat you won’t be able to decide if you’ll dance your night out to it or not. Enjoy the masterful pairing of the drums filling the spaces left available by the warm bassline. Vibement – VANIISH Genre: Dubstep “He’s not only refreshing his style and challenging himself to experiment with different ideas, he’s now routed his brain with a professional mentality“. Do you remember that line of text? That’s an extract of our recent article sharing ‘Resurgence’, a track by EDM artist Vibement. Well, do you want to hear that fresh style and rerouted mentality? This way, good sir. Welcome to ‘VANIISH‘, the latest from the artist. The track rocks an intense hybrid nature between, well, Rock rhythms, and Mid-tempo banging pieces. The Dubstep drop is the icing on the cake. It reminds us of that one very very old track by Skrillex, ‘Reptile’, and so we’re instantly hooked. Amazing job Vibement! ATB – 9PM (Till I Come) (CHRSTPHR Remix) Genre: Tech House Yes. It is very, very rare that we accept or share tracks in our NMFs that are outside of Spotify. This is actually the first time. But we HAD to break the rules for this one. We had to make the exception for CHRSTPHR‘s killer rendition of a Trance classic. You recognise this one instantly, it’s become a part of the general culture by now. And this year, it’s become Tech House. The iconic ATB slidey lead of ‘9PM (Till I Come)‘ is the perfect pairing to the hard, dry Tech House beat, filling spaces with its memorable line. Try to play this one at a gig without the crowd singing along. We couldn’t, it’s just super catchy. CHRSTPHR · CHRSTPHR – 9PM (Till I Come) Burak Yeter X Parkah & Durzo – Say My Name Genre: Deep House After his smash hit ‘Tuesday’ featuring Danelle Sandoval, which racked up a mind-blowing 580+ million streams, Burak Yeter is back in the Dance music spotlight with ‘Say My Name‘. The single sees him join forces with talents Parkah & Durzo for a track that promises to follow the steps of its hit predecessor. Containing an optimal balance between strings, melodic plucks, low vocals, and groovy beats and basslines, we can see this track being the next Summer hit, inside and also outside music festivals. It’s easy on the ears and could be the perfect soundtrack for, say, holiday-themed reels. Listen and be the judge! Casino Gold – Into The Wild Genre: Deep House Continuing with the theme of beautifully-crafted Deep House, we’ve got a fresh new track from Casino Gold, a duo starting to make waves in the industry for their polished melodic sound, which is reminiscent of earlier eras of House, all while also gracing their listeners with cutting-edge leads and sounds. It’s a blend of old and new. ‘Into The Wild‘ blends classic sounds with a modern groove, weaving in lovely vocals that resonate deeply. This fusion of familiar elements and fresh rhythms is a case in point of what we mentioned earlier: their ability to time travel to two places simultaneously. Lexa Hill – Flowerz Genre: House Allow us to close this week’s House-tinted New Music Friday with a question: do you like flowers? Or rather, do you like ‘Flowerz‘? We sure do. In fact, we’ve been following d:vision’s releases closely for a while now, and they seem to deliver banger after banger. Their latest journey is one piloted by Italian mastermind Lexa Hill. His piece is a rework of a classic track of the genre, the homonymously titled ‘Flowerz’, Armand Van Helden & Roland Clark’s one to be precise. Alex’s version infuses the original’s iconic vocals with a pulsating bassline and a captivating guitar riff, for a combo that is sure to be a floor igniter everywhere you go. Final Words Stay tuned, for more of our compilations every Tuesday and Friday — based on demand. And be sure to follow EDMTunes for all the latest news and reviews that revolve around our beloved Electronic Dance Music! The post EDMTunes New Music Friday – Week 12 appeared first on EDMTunes.
