Amonita Releases Masterful ADID Three-Tracker ‘Rainbow’
Get ready to be delighted by a gigantic Organic House release. We hope you enjoy your Good Friday with your loved ones if you commemorate this date. As for us here at EDMTunes, we’re pleased to share with you a colossal EP for those who are craving a good, proper Organic time for their Good Fridays. And it comes from Amonita, one of the Organic stars in the world right now. As the ethereal musician she is, known for her enchanting compositions and captivating live performances, Amonita has been rocking the scene since 2017. And she’s been releasing on today’s imprint, All Day I Dream — one of the leading record labels on this side of the spectrum —, for five years already. The Rainbow EP Amonita’s time in Turkey, surrounded by the raw beauty of Nature, became the muse for her most recent release, the Rainbow EP. She says the songs are full of those moments she witnessed: sun-drenched lands, the calming whispers of the sea, and the vibrant burst of a majestic rainbow. It’s a journey for the romantics, the passionate ones, the ones who chase dreams with open hearts, and those who resonate with Mother Nature’s most intimate wonders. Amonita – Rainbow EP Tracklist Rainbow Amulet Moon Dust ‘Rainbow’ Happy, uplifting and full of the sonic representation of good times in good company, the title track, ‘Rainbow‘, is perhaps the best definition of the EP. With a shy melody surrounded by ever-evolving elements and an aura of that feel-good stuff, it enchants upon the very first listen. ‘Amulet’ Slightly more mysterious, and even groovier (how?!), ‘Amulet‘ — my favourite out of the three — develops an entire song around quite the simple idea: two chords telling a tale. There’s so much happening that you can almost forget about the simplistic idea of its foundation. You get carried away super easily, it’s just that mysterious. It’s intriguing. And the percussion-vocal combo reminds me of my childhood. For more insights DM me, won’t bother the audience with my past! ‘Moon Dust’ I don’t know how to word this, but this one does, indeed, feel like a track born out of a night experience. I can see it being the most appropriate for a heated night on the dancefloor. Even more mysterious than the other two tracks, and containing filtered elements that can only up the groove and danceability of it, ‘Moon Dust‘ portrays the perfect tune for a full moon’s night. Listen to Amonita‘s beautiful Rainbow EP below by interacting with the Spotify block below, or click here to support it on your favourite streaming platform. Listen to Gesaffelstein's "GAMMA" Album, a Bruised Heart Beating in a Chrome Chest
Chrome tears rolling down cyborg cheeks, Gesaffelstein is at his most vulnerable in GAMMA, his first album in five years. The French electronic music icon reinforces himself as a sculptor of emotional resonance, building out monolithic structures carved with dark, glitched-out bass. Yet within these imposing edifices, intricate nuances shimmer and whisper. Gesaffelstein's mastery lies in this equilibrium. If Hyperion was a chrome-plated monument, GAMMA is the demolition, its anguished vocals writhing to the soundtrack of his world on the brink. From the opening salvo of "Digital slaves" to the haunting, ambient coda of "Emet," the new album is an exercise in duality. His virtuosic command of texture and timbre feels both alien and intimately familiar, an unflinching confrontation with the depths of the human condition. Elsewhere in GAMMA, Gesaffelstein cranks up the claustrophobia by virtue of "Psycho," a distorted banger that could soundtrack a horror film set in a mirror maze. And after that strobe light headache, he bathes in its afterglow in "The perfect," a sonic sensory deprivation tank wherein his tortured vocals float atop a chugging beat. You can listen to GAMMA below and find the new album on streaming platforms here. PREMIERE: TATE SEDAR Unveils Electrifying New Single “San Francisco”
TATE SEDAR has made a mark in electronic music, notably performing at the 2020 Insomniac Discovery Project: EDC Virtual Rave-a-Thon. Collaborations with industry heavyweights like Dada Life, Don Diablo, and more have cemented his status as an innovative artist. With over 5.7 million plays in 2023 and tracks like “Heaven” and “Find a Way” featured on massive publications, SEDAR’s global influence is undeniable. His remix of Empire’s Terrell Carter’s “Hero” and edit of Justin Bieber’s “Hold On” demonstrate his commitment to infusing electronic music with deeper themes. Now he’s back with a bright new single “San Francisco” that we are thrilled to premiere. San Francisco holds profound personal significance in TATE SEDAR’s artistic evolution. As a city renowned for its musical heritage spanning rock, funk/soul, and hip-hop, it becomes the thematic nucleus of his latest release. “San Francisco” pays homage to the diverse sounds that influenced SEDAR’s formative years while also acting as a platform for his ventures into uncharted musical realms. The track exemplifies the transformative influence of revisiting one’s roots to chart new creative territories. We had the chance to catch up with him to discuss the song and what’s ahead for him. Enjoy! The Genesis of “San Francisco”: Can you describe the moment or experience that inspired you to create “San Francisco”? Was there a specific event in the city that sparked this artistic endeavor? San Francisco was actually something I made by accident. I was playing around with lofi samples and I started to realize: “this sounds a lot like what I grew up with in SF.” Is there a specific event? Well, it’s my youth – my upbringing. And sometimes, you find yourself in other things. And I think that’s what happened with these samples and the production. “San Francisco” represents a fusion of diverse genres. How did you approach the process of blending elements of progressive rock, funk, hip-hop, and post-EDM to create a cohesive sound? I first started with the guitar melody and found out (while I didn’t even realize San Francisco was shining its way through) a sort of connection between rock and funk. The connection, of course, is where I’m from: rock and funk are part of the ‘San Francisco sound.’ And then…I kind of left the middle break alone for a bit. But when I started to hear SF, I thought: “I’m going to add hip-hop,” ‘cuz ‘cmon: the Bay Area – we’re known for that (laughs shortly). Post-EDM is the result of this track; it’s all these different sounds and genres in an electronic format, or at least what people consider, you know, EDM and electronic music now. I didn’t even realize at the time I was coming into the concept of post-EDM until after. Beyond its musical influence, how has the city of San Francisco shaped you personally and artistically? Are there any landmarks, cultural aspects, or personal memories that directly influenced the track? You know what’s kind of funny is: I was raised in San Francisco but have not spent all my life there. I lived there until I was about seven, moved around with family to the [US] East Coast, then London, went to school in [central] NY – and finally made it back to SF (now in LA). My mom always believed she made “SF part of my…identity” and I think it’s very true because, even though we didn’t live there full-time, we visited every summer and winter. It became important still in adolescence: those high school summers when you’re 16, 17, 18 are crucial in everybody’s upbringing. San Francisco has shaped me in terms of my outlook on life, social dynamics & experiences with people and some of my beliefs: I kind of am somebody who believes in and hopes for a world without judgment or discrimination – a world where everyone can be who they are or want to be, regardless of what people think. There is a warmth and care that San Francisco breeds, or at least used to (a story for another day) – but I think I’m still part of that [earlier] generation. I really only discovered what is glam or early progressive rock – Journey – when I lived in London and researched music from SF. Motown and R&B were always part of my youth. I think San Francisco is very much a “melting pot,” like New York City – and that is what this song is: a fondue of music (laughs). Those memories of finding this music is what made this. Some music might be inspired by what’s current now or trends, but this track is about what made me. It’s kind of a retrospective, but also a style and concept I haven’t encountered yet. Your career has now ventured into the realm of what is labeled ‘post-EDM,’ a genre that signifies progression from traditional EDM sounds. How do you define post-EDM, and what makes “San Francisco” a standout piece within this genre? The definition (or my interpretation) of post-EDM is: a progressive style of electronic music that incorporates sounds of what some may consider “the Golden Age of EDM” (2010-2014) and afterward as well as music from the past – really, it’s an amalgamation, a refinement of digital and analog sounds. And I realized this made the most sense, in terms of my career, because I felt limited with synthesized sounds. Yeah, sound design is great: it’s something fresh, people love novelty. But there’s something about what we know – what we’re familiar with – that engages people. You can’t deny that guitars, pianos or even an old vocal style each evoke a certain emotion and I feel like just staying with synthetic music is devoid of that [emotion]. “San Francisco” is the introduction to this sound because it incorporates the three most well-known genres of SF, all of which are pre-electronic music (rock, r&b and hip-hop) and its natural form exhibits the definition of post-EDM. Some people might say “it’s a funk-inspired” or “disco house.” track, and that’s ok. There’s a little more there though, and for those that really wanna take it apart and hear that – I think they’ll get the message. You’ve emphasized storytelling through your music. What story does “San Francisco” tell, and how do you use the different musical elements to convey this narrative? I would say this is more a story of sound than necessarily a narrative. Yeah, I have love songs and songs about finding yourself – but this is the story of San Francisco through music. And sure, it might feel like a history piece, but some people like history. And also, it just hits a lot of spots emotionally when you think of the different analog sounds that inspire it. What’s your plans for the future – how are you feeling about 2024 and where you are headed within the year? I am ready for 2024. I have a lot slated; I have so much music over the past couple of years that basically fit this sound and became the foundations of my rebrand. But also…feeling a little anxious. I committed to trying to put out [1] original and [1] remix a month. That’s a lot of work! I think there is something to offer for people to hear, but I just need to have a year where I get it all out and see what happens. I didn’t put out a lot of music last year and need to expand the catalog. And if it doesn’t stick, we try again! But I’m confident that some of this will connect with people because there is an audience who doesn’t even know they like electronic music – because they don’t know that these sounds that are familiar could also be part of electronic music. And that’s what I’m hoping to do – is to be able to bridge a gap. This article was first published on Your EDM. Source: PREMIERE: TATE SEDAR Unveils Electrifying New Single “San Francisco”

Sweden's Silent Maestro: The Unseen Artist Behind 650 Aliases and 15 Billion Spotify Streams
Fame is often synonymous with visibility, but Johan Röhr has become one of the streaming era's most illustrious shadows. Orchestrating a Spotify discography that outperforms the highest echelons of pop royalty without ever stepping into the spotlight, this Stockholm symphonist has been identified as the mastermind behind over 650 artist aliases on Spotify. Röhr's compositions have amassed a staggering 15 billion streams, according to The Guardian. Röhr's prolific output includes over 2,700 songs. His music, a mainstay on Spotify’s mood-centric playlists, serves as the unseen backdrop to millions of daily lives. Much of the artist's success is believed to come specifically from editorial instrumental playlists. Critics argue that the dominance of a few, faceless artists undermines Spotify's pledge to support small, independent musicians. Financially, Röhr's windfall from his streaming success isn't fully known, although his company did report a record-breaking year of 32.7 million kronor ($3 million USD) in the 2022 fiscal year. In response, a Spotify spokesperson told The Guardian: "There is an increased interest in functional music created to enhance everyday activities such as relaxation, focus, or studying, and these playlists are created to match the listeners’ demand. This type of music typically exists in Spotify’s Focus hub which limits competition with artists from traditional genres of popular music."

Dzeko Releases Fire Collab With Lil Yachty ‘Wu Tang’
Multi-platinum producer Dzeko is back with another banger this time joining forces with chart-topping rapper Lil Yachty for a track titled ‘Wu Tang.’ The track was meticulously crafted in the studio more than a year ago and is primed to be a weapon to pump the crowds at any dancefloor or festival this spring/summer. Dzeko described the creative process as an exploration of ideas in a press released he shared to EDMTunes. “The song with Lil Yachty came about by hitting the studio literally last March,” he explained. “We went through a bunch of different ideas and vocals.” This experimentation paid off, as Dzeko highlights the unique blend of elements that make the track a success: “I think the combination of the melodic chorus with the Wu-Tang part mixed with the dance/house drop blends so well and makes it a banger.” Fans are in for a treat as Dzeko’s signature production style fuses with Lil Yachty’s infectious rapping in ‘Wu Tang.’ The year-long effort to perfect the song speaks to Dzeko’s excitement: “A year in the making, and I’m so excited for this to finally come out.” This isn’t Dzeko’s first foray into cross genre collaborations either with his last one being with country legend Keith Urban on ‘Both Still Young.’ And then there is his platinum hit ‘Jackie Chan‘ with Post Malone and Tiësto which took the world by storm in 2018. Dzeko and Lil Yachty’s latest collaboration is one to get excited for as the combination of their talents has all the makings of a crossover hit. With its catchy melodies, bumping dancefloor beats, and a touch of Wu Tang Clan influence, the track has what it takes to be the next summer anthem. Dzeko (Julian Dzeko) is an EDM producer and DJ from Toronto, Canada who has cemented himself as a leading figure in the global dance community. His use of colorful arrays of progressive sounds and energetic dance melodies mixed with electro, pop, future and bass house elements show his ability to further push the envelopes of his sound and identity as forward-thinking producer. He has released music on some of the biggest labels in the world, including Spinnin’ Records, Armada Music, and Revealed Recordings. In addition to touring all over the world, he’s held iconic residencies in Las Vegas Casinos such as Hakkasan and Omnia Nightclub. In the depths of the sonic abyss lies ‘CREATION OF DISGUST,’ a haunting exploration of the darkest realms within riddim. Crafted by the mysterious AVANCE, this EP spins a tale of revelation and darkness. Previous releases have hinted at AVANCE’s lifelong struggle with a spectral tormentor, a demon named Odious, whose origins are as enigmatic as the night itself. Teaming up with Qoiet, a metal/rocktronic artist renowned for his visceral vocal style, they conjure a nightmarish soundscape, blending distorted drums, ominous melodies, and foreboding soundscapes. Each element, carefully selected, stretches the boundaries of comfort while irresistibly drawing listeners into its dark embrace. In ‘CREATION OF DISGUST,’ AVANCE confronts the demon within, crafting a tale of horror and revelation. Redrum Gets Surprise Engagement From Longtime Boyfriend & Tour Manager, Scott
Love is in the air in Denver. At last night’s sold-out show at Denver’s Cervantes Masterpiece Venue, Portland-native turned Denver-based DJ sensation Redrum (Tatiana Tindall) took the stage as direct support for Super Future. Little did she know, her longtime boyfriend and tour manager Scott Villanueva, had a surprise up his sleeve: a heartwarming proposal. In the midst of what seemed like a regular photo op on stage at the end of her set, Scott decided to make his move. Being Redrum’s VJ for the show, he created a cleverly crafted graphic that played during her final song, which let the crowd in on his master plan. Once she finished her set, entire crowd rallied to cheer him on as he took a knee and proposed. It was a proposal that turned the night into something truly unforgettable. We’d like to wish a special congratulations to both Redrum and Scott and if you’d like to see Redrum this summer, you can catch her at Electric Forest or Lightning in a Bottle! Calvin Harris Defends His Ultra Music Festival Set, Slams Critics
In the world of electronic dance music, few names shine as brightly as Calvin Harris, whose headlining act at Ultra Music Festival in Miami sparked an unexpected online debate. Following his electrifying performance on the Main Stage on the festival’s final night, a couple of voices on Instagram dubbed the set “underwhelming.” Unwilling to let the comment slide, Harris stepped into the fray to set the record straight, reminding everyone of the undeniable impact of his music. Responding to the critics with a powerful defense of his musical legacy, Harris took to the comments section of a Dancing Astronaut Instagram post about his performance. With a career that boasts hits with over a billion streams each, such as “How Deep Is Your Love” and “This Is What You Came For,” Harris questioned the logic behind the criticism. Highlighting his commitment to his art, he revealed the effort that went into creating new versions of his tracks specifically for Ultra, showcasing a dedication that few can rival. His response was not only a testament to his success but also an insight into the pressure and expectations placed on headline acts in major EDM festivals. Calvin Claps Back Calvin Harris’ return to Ultra after an 11-year hiatus was nothing short of a monumental occasion, celebrated by many but unfortunately critiqued by a few. Despite the unwarranted criticism, Harris’ comment sparked an outpouring of support from fans and fellow artists alike, reaffirming his status as one of the greatest producers of our time. It’s a shame that an artist of his caliber seldom graces EDM festival stages, as his unparalleled ability to weave hits into unforgettable live experiences is exactly what the scene thrives on. Here’s hoping that despite the detractors, Calvin Harris will not shy away from blessing more festivals with his presence, continuing to prove that his musical journey is far from over. The Chainsmokers, Zerb and Ink Flirt With Temptation In Catchy House Track, "Addicted"
The Chainsmokers are back with "Addicted," an earworm of a house track released today alongside Zerb and Ink. Musically sleek yet lyrically unrestrained, "Addicted" revels in the darker, more primal aspects of attraction. By turning wanton desire into an addiction, the track makes a penetrating statement about lust's ability to cloud reason, delivering unapologetic ode to the powerful allure of physical chemistry. "Addicted" features Ink, who has worked alongside Beyoncé, Justin Bieber, Childish Gambino and Stevie Wonder, among many others. Her lyrical bravado is a double-edged sword—charmingly cocky one moment ("reason you came in here tonight") and teetering on delirium the next ("out my mind"). It's a gamble that pays off, mirroring the thrill of flirting on the edge of temptation. The track will most likely appear on a new album from The Chainsmokers, who wrote "TCS6 begins tonight" yesterday in posts across their social media. "Addicted" is out now on TH3RD BRAIN Records. [Interview] Gryffin Chats With EDMTunes at Miami Music Week
Dan Griffith, known by his stage name Gryffin, is an American musician, DJ, and music producer known for his unique and euphoric electro pop sound, dynamic DJ sets, as well as raw musical talent. Born in San Francisco, California, Gryffin grew up as a classically trained pianist and learned to play the guitar at an early age. He played in bands to initially hone his instrumental abilities before breaking out as an electronic music producer in the mid 2010s. His meteoric rise to fame is awe inspiring and he has quickly climbed the ranks to become one of the most sought after acts across the globe. This last week, Ultra Music Festival saw the return of Gryffin for another main stage set (2023 was his Ultra Main Stage Debut) hot off the heels of a highly anticipated release with dance legend Armin Van Buuren, ‘What Took You So Long.’ Gryffin was able to spare some time between his busy Miami schedule to chat with us here at EDMTunes. Read the full interview below: Hey, man. How’s it going? My name is Jaesyun from EDMTunes. We’re very happy you agreed to have this interview with us. Gryffin: Yeah. What’s up man? How’s it going? Pretty good! It has been an hectic music week on my end. So I can only imagine how it’s been like for you. You had your big main stage set last night amid all of the changes. How did that go compared to your very first main stage Ultra set last year? Good to be back? Gryffin: It was awesome, man. Yeah, I felt really good about it. It was it was obviously kind of chaotic with the set time changes and all that stuff, but I was I was definitely willing to accommodate and get Hardwell on there because he prepared for months for this set and I wanted him to have a great set as well. So it was amidst all that. I mean, I had an amazing time. Got to play a bunch of IDs out and really show where I’m going directionally with my music the next year and this next era. The fan response felt really strong and it was perfect. And weather wise we finally saw some blue sky. You also just released a really big collab with Armin on Friday and it was quite a surprise to hear the trance sound. Can we expect even more genre bending elements from you in the upcoming album? DNB? Maybe a little hardstyle? Gryffin: Yep. I’m definitely experimenting with a lot of different subgenres of dance. I think this album represents me going dancier than I’ve gone before on any of my albums. So I am experimenting. Like, I’ve got a couple of DNB songs on the album. It’s been really fun. I’ve been really creatively fulfilled, honestly, working on this project. It’s the most fun I’ve had making music in a long time. So I’m excited to see what people think. And even just with the Armin song. It kind of came super naturally. We’ve been fans of each other for a long time and finally got a chance to write together in LA; and the entire song was written and produced essentially in like one mega 12 hour session. So that was really cool. It was super organic and the vibes were just perfect that day. We were just bouncing everything off each other and loving what each other was doing. So it just it just came together super naturally and we’re really happy to have it out now. Wow 12 hours. Like front to end, right to master or did you have a bit more back and forth afterwards? Gryffin: We tweaked it back and forth over the next several weeks, but just remote since he was back in the Netherlands and I was in LA. But, really, if I played you the version that we finished and bounced that day, you would be like, “oh yeah, this is the track.” Um, so it was pretty crazy. Like he had a set an Exchange that night and his manager kept coming in like: “yo, man, we gotta go get food. We have to go get ready for the show.” And [Armin’s] like: “no, I want to stay and finish this.” He was so excited about the track. So it was pretty cool and it was a really fun but long day. Yeah, totally. It sounds like it really worked out and it was really rewarding. Do we do we have a release date yet for the album? I know you said spring summer, but you know, spring is almost over. Gryffin: I know! So yea it’s going to be summer now, but it’s coming soon. I’m just finishing up the last few records and now that touring and stuff is kind of pick back up, I wanted to focus on the sets. I wanted to make sure everything is feeling good in that regard. But now I’m heading home to LA this week and trying to finish the album ASAP. So it’s coming. It’s coming soon. I don’t have a date, but it’s it’ll be a few months away for sure. Great! Right during peak festival season. You got any big festivals you’re looking forward to this year? And any that are on your bucket list that you haven’t played yet? Gryffin: I’m excited to go to Osheaga. It’s one I’ve always had in my mind that I really wanted to do. So I’m really excited about that one. And of course Tomorrowland — obviously in Europe this summer. It’s going to be my first time going there. I’m very excited for that one. I’m doing a few big other ones later this summer that actually haven’t been announced, but I’m very much looking forward to those as well. And then I’m going to gear up and start preparing for my big fall tour. Brand new show, brand new everything. For the tour itself, are you visiting any new cities that you haven’t been to before? I mean, obviously you’re probably gonna have a Red Rocks show. Something in New York, something in LA, the Palladium again or? Gryffin: So in LA…we’re going pretty big in LA. I can’t announce it yet, but it’s going to be a big one. And then I’m not sure if I’m actually doing any new cities I haven’t gone to before, but it’s the most comprehensive tour I’ve done in a long time. It’s going to be like 20 – 30 cities in the US. I haven’t done a tour, like a bus tour like that since probably the Gravity era. So it’ll be fun to get back out there and really travel the country and play the set out. I’m really looking forward to it. That’s great. Gravity was one of my favorite albums. I still listen to it on repeat to today! So I want to get your thoughts on the trends in production right now. Tracks in general are going higher and higher in BPMs. What are your thoughts on that as a producer? I know you mentioned that in this particular album, you’re going a lot more dancier here than your previous studio albums, are you kind of following that trend of going with a higher pace, or are you kind of just seeing what works with the track and going along with that? Gryffin: Yeah, I guess that is the trend, but I also just am enjoying it. I have actually been going more uptempo. Like it’s fun to play out live. It’s fun to feel the energy. I’m actually really just having fun with that kind of stuff because of the pace and energy these records have when I’m working on them. I’ve actually been really inspired by a lot of what’s been happening in dance music and dance culture. So I am kind of just running with it. Changing gears a bit. You’ve always put out so many good YouTube content pieces. Like that set in Kauai was just absolutely amazing to watch and listen to. Where do you get the inspiration to do that? Like, do you just go on vacation and then decide on a whim? Or does that take a lot of planning ahead of time? Gryffin: That one specifically actually came together pretty fast when I was out there. I just decided to rip it. So it kind of depends. But yeah, that was a fun one to do. I always like putting up those sets every once in a while when I feel like I have a good vibe on the set direction and the environment that I would love to present it in. I don’t have one planned on the horizon necessarily, but I do have some stuff in the works around the album release. So that that should come out pretty soon, which will be exciting as well. But yeah, appreciate the love on that. I definitely enjoy doing those, and I do put a good amount of effort into it. So I appreciate the positive feedback on that. Of course! All right, I’m sure you have a really busy day. Thank you for carving out these 15 minutes to chat with me. Really looking forward to writing this up! Gryffin: Thanks, man. I appreciate that, and thanks for your time as well. The post [Interview] Gryffin Chats With EDMTunes at Miami Music Week appeared first on EDMTunes.

Jauz Drops Captivating and Ethereal Track ‘Teardrops’
Jauz has returned to us with a beauty of a track. His latest record ‘Teardrops’ captivates the listener with its ethereal synth melodies, vocal chops, and nostalgic breakbeat rhythms that showcase the dance music heavyweight’s ability to transcend genres. He has a seamless fusion of ambient elements and progressive house melodies. This newest sound ushers in a new era for Jauz. Last year he dropped 2 albums of varying sounds. His debut LP explored progressive–house sounds with Rise of the Wise. He followed that up with the Drum & Bass and Dubstep-infused Wrath of the Wicked– showcasing the producer’s versatility in the electronic music realm. ‘Teardrops’ will take you on a sonic journey through Jauz’s diverse sound. His take on the trending stutter vocal is wonderful. This track seems to cross the boundaries between the wise and the wicked. It is wise with its beauty but also wicked with its breakbeat, and DnB-like drum patterns. Jauz is embarking on a huge Wise vs. Wicked 2024 Tour. It kicks off in April in Philadelphia and then Hits New York, Seattle, Denver, Toronto, Austin, and San Francisco.
