  1. The talented Producer Clan Brude continues to lead an exciting musical journey, so today we’re looking forward to being joined by him to discuss his highlights so far, diving into the standout moments of his career. As we learn about his initial interest in pursuing his passion for Electronic Music and gain an insight into his musical background, we discover more about his determination and ambition when it comes to establishing a reputation within the genre today. So, join us as we present this exclusive interview with Clan Brude. Hi Clan Brude! How’s it going? What’s new? Life is good, thank you. I’ve been busy experimenting with newer sounds including synth layers and have just put out a new EP in collaboration with Shanghai’s Hogchoker. This one leans much more toward the experimental side of things with Jazz elements. Think more free-from, as far as that could be achieved within the genre. What inspired you to pursue a career in Electronic Music? A general fascination with sounds, synths, layers, and sonic textures and just simply messing about in a DIY fashion. For me, this all became more accessible during COVID with a lot more time to experiment and finish tracks. I find the overall ethos of Electronic Music inspirational, from going out to gigs to spending time in front of Ableton. What were some of your early career milestones that helped you gain recognition in the realm of Electronic Music? Incremental releases across the two to three years I have been active. Releasing my first EP ‘Frequencies’ in 2022 was very important and a real milestone. I moved forward through a few singles then releases and started working with incredible vocalists. And then my Shanghai 2022 lockdown EP ‘Temporary Places’ last year which was a real Progressive House record and another step up into developing the Clan Brude sound. How did feel when you had your track ‘Something Cut Me Loose,’ aired on BBC Introducing? This was certainly a career highlight for sure and quite unexpected. I knew it was a track that had potential, but when I was told it would be played, it was a mixture of disbelief and pure adrenaline. The track was a personal milestone, blending my influences into a sound I felt was truly my own. To have it recognized by BBC introducing, an institution that champions new music, was both humbling and exhilarating. It felt like a nod from the universe that I was on the right path, and it motivated me to double down on my production work. At what point, did you decide to make the move to Amsterdam? How has that influenced or impacted your music career now? That was a bit of a leap of faith but a very exciting one. The city is an Electronic Music haven and I’ve noticed there doesn’t seem to be any age bounds here when it comes to the parties they put on, particularly for Techno. This has created a new source of inspiration for me with my first real Amsterdam track ‘Redemption’ coming out next month. It’s not just about the access to a new audience but also about the creative osmosis that happens in such a dynamic environment. It’s definitely shaping my music to be more adventurous and global in its appeal. Do you feel your background as a guitarist and having played in a band, contributed to your creative productions now? Playing guitar, and particularly bass, is an inseparable part of my identity as an Electronic Music Producer. It has instilled in me an appreciation of melody, harmony, and elements from music theory that I can transfer to electronic production. For instance, I can bring in elements of arrangements and dynamics as well as emotion that can be garnered uniquely from live instrumentation. What software or piece of equipment did you feel helped in developing your musicianship over the course of your career as a DJ or Producer? Ableton Live is the cornerstone of my studio along with my M-audio full-size MIDI keyboard for sketching out ideas. This setup, along with my interface for recording guitars and vocals, provides indispensable flexibility and power. In the near future, I’d like to get more into modular synths to open up that new dimension of sound design for me. Which releases, would you say, have been pivotal to your music career? ‘Something Cut Me Loose’ getting high-profile radio play was pivotal in terms of recognition from within the industry. A few other releases have also had an impact on me personally in my development as an Artist. For instance, my first signed track ‘Someone to Be’ is a fond moment. And I am particularly proud of the 3 EPs I have put out. ‘Back in the Day Shanghai’ has seen the most traction on streaming sites and is a personal favourite as it encapsulates my time in the city. Do you feel you have officially arrived at your signature sound? Or is your musical identity still evolving? I feel like I’ve crafted a sound that’s recognizably Clan Brude, what has been called a blend of introspective melodies and driving beats. However, I view my musical identity as a constantly evolving entity, never static. With each project, I strive to evolve and refine my sound. I will continue to produce as I do but will also look to push boundaries in a melodic way! I never want to be complacent with my productions as that would take away a lot of the authenticity and reason for doing it for me. What are some of your future projects as a DJ and Producer in Electronic Music? ‘Redemption’ is out on May 3rd in original and extended forms which is hugely exciting for me as it marks my first Amsterdam-inspired production. I’ll be returning to some experimental collaborative work with vocalists and artists from diverse genres. It’s very fun crossing genres in that way. I also hope my projects continue to explore the limits of Electronic Music and connect with listeners. As we conclude our interview with Clan Brude, we thank him for taking the time to look back through his musical journey to give us an insight into some of his favourite moments. With such a clear passion and enthusiasm for Electronic Music, Clan Brude promises to continue growing and evolving as an Artist, bringing more innovative and unique productions to his listeners around the globe. 2. In this exclusive interview, the Producer and DJ Avi Sic joins us to discuss her recent single, ‘Dancing With My Boyz’; a high-energy Tech House production, detailed with pounding beats, potent basslines, and infectious rhythms, the track no doubt impressed, climbing high on the list of fan favourites for the Producer. So, today we’re looking forward to learning more about the process, technical elements, and the influences behind the track, gaining an insight into Avi Sic’s approach when it comes to producing such impactful productions. Hi, Avi! Congrats on your release of ‘Dancing With My Boyz’! How are you doing? I’m great, thank you for having me! What was your inspiration behind this fun Tech House track and its title, ‘Dancing With My Boyz’? I set out to make something fun and carefree that gets the dancefloor hyped. The title actually changed a few times. Started out as ‘In The Club’ but that felt too 50 Cent so I used the latter half of the phrase instead as the title. It has Night at the Roxbury vibes. I can picture those guys on a night on the town with this as their soundtrack. Were there any musical influences that played a part in shaping the vibe of this track? Bass House synths with some Tech House drums. Chris Lake ish sound fx, and some Walker & Royce synth influence. Was the process for layering this track different compared to your other releases? I’ve become pretty streamlined with my process, so this is kind of standard for me. A big bassline and kick, lots of drum and percussion layers and then the synths and ear candy that sit above all that and stick out. Which elements of this track do you feel highlight your signature sound? The drop synths. Always catchy and big. Were there new instruments or sounds added to this release that aren’t used in your other ones? Of course, I don’t repeat the same sounds often. Lots of squishy bass hits and filtering on the main synth. Pitch shifting, etc. Is there a message you want to convey through the lyrics of this track? If so, could you share more? The lyrics say it all. It’s super silly and fun. It’s meant as a pregame track to the party. Something to carry with you into the night when you get out of the car after listening to it on your way to the festival or club. I made sure to maintain a bit of darkness with the drums. It’s the perfect soundtrack to share with friends. Did you learn something new while creating this track? Always. This track actually started out as a collaboration with my friend Andrew Lux who is killing it – but he wasn’t feeling it anymore. He wrote the original bassline and pluck melody. I changed those up a bit but definitely had a few takeaways from seeing his original session work. How does it feel to have your track being released on Don Diablo’s label, Generation Hex? It’s awesome, I definitely met a goal of mine with this one. He even gave a shoutout on his radio show and supported the track in his playlists. I’ve had some great DJ support on this one including Fedde Le Grand, Swanky Tunes, and Plastik Funk. Spotify added to their Women Of Electronic playlist which is such an honour to be included on and also on their Nasty Bits playlist which I love. Any new and exciting releases and live shows coming up? I have a few upcoming releases on deck – one with Costel Van Dein (Revealed) that I’m very excited to finally get out. I’m also working on a handful of solo tracks and collaborating with some of my new favourite up-and-coming producers Kiro Prime (Confession), Casmalia (Night Bass), Footwork (Stereohype) and more. I’ll be playing the North Coast Music Festival over Labor Day weekend which will be a blast, excited to make my return to that plus tons of local Chicago shows for the next few months. From our conversation, Avi Sic’s enthusiasm and love for creating powerful music is no doubt clear, continuing to drive her to exciting new ground as she keeps delivering high-quality releases and live shows. So, we close out our interview by thanking Avi Sic for her time and eagerly anticipate hearing what is next to come from this talented Producer and DJ. 3. Twelve years ago, the electronic dance music scene was set ablaze with the release of ‘Kontiki’, a collaboration between Hardwell and the then-rising star Dannic. Released in early 2012, ‘Kontiki’ quickly made waves, landing high on the Miami Buzz Chart and garnering significant attention with a teaser that amassed over 2 million views. ‘Kontiki’ is the epitome of a big room anthem, characterized by its energetic stabs, commanding lead theme, and robust basslines. The track is further elevated by the signature touches of Hardwell and Dannic, including heavy snare drums and dynamic climaxes, making it a formidable banger in the EDM landscape. Hardwell, whose real name is Robbert van de Corput, had already established himself as a superstar DJ who was instrumental in shaping the EDM explosion of 2012-2013. Starting his DJ career at the tender age of 13, inspired by the dance parties he saw on MTV, Hardwell‘s passion for music quickly led him to experiment with mixing and producing his own tracks. Dannic, on the other hand, was known for his versatility and had already made a name for himself in the industry with releases on major labels and collaborations that included hits like ‘Chase The Sun’ with Hardwell and ‘Coco’s Miracle’ with Fedde Le Grand. His track record included numerous Beatport Top 10 hits and a strong presence in the electronic music scene. ‘Kontiki’ remains a significant release for both Hardwell and Dannic, highlighting a moment in time when both were at the creative peaks of their careers. The track not only showcases their individual talents but also their ability to collaborate seamlessly, producing a piece of music that has endured as a favorite among fans and continues to energize dance floors around the world.
  4. Fresh from the release of his latest single, ‘Timewarp’, Sander Wilder joins us for this exclusive interview to take us behind the scenes of the track, diving into his inspirations and the process that led to such an electrifying production. As he continues to make a name for himself within Electronic Music, both through his unique signature sound, one that blends elements from across genres like Progressive and Melodic, and with monthly episodes of his high-quality radio show, ‘Global Feelings’, Sander Wilder is surely taking the genre by storm, quickly gaining a reputation on the scene. Hi, Sander! Congrats on the release of ‘Timewarp’! How are you doing? Hey there, nice to meet you! Thank you for your nice words. Doing great here, hope the best for you as well. We would love to hear about the inspiration and concept behind this track, ‘Timewarp.’ The initial direction of the track was actually different, I was experimenting with some different elements, even specific for other sub-styles, and simply at some point, there was a creative spark which gave this direction to the track. What is your favourite stand-out moment in this piece? The melodic/vocal breakdown which evolves into the main section of the track where the snare roll and piano kick in, I consider this the most intense part of the track for me. How would you describe ‘Timewarp’ to a first-time listener? Immersive, melodic, and atmospheric, taking the listener on a journey. Were there any musical influences you pulled from to create the sounds in this track? The track has a blend between Melodic Techno, Future Rave and a touch of Trance flavour – basically, I wanted a track with a higher level of energy but at the same time I really wanted to keep a deepness and an atmospheric presence in it. Did you collaborate with a vocalist on this track? And were there new instruments or sounds you experimented with in this piece? The vocal is adapted from an existing sounds library, I simply felt that the vocal approach was a good fit for my track. There are a few new sounds that I’ve experimented with, as I’ve bought in World music elements (this can be felt mostly at the breakdown). What about this track is different compared to your previous releases, such as ‘Into The Abyss’? The energy and deepness are much higher and more intense, and, besides this, the vocals are what give the track a new direction. Speaking about the vocal, another difference is having two mixes, a vocal one and a Dub Mix for those listeners who don’t want lyrics and simply want to enjoy the melodic playfulness and deepness of the breakdown. What about ‘Timewarp’ defines your distinct Melodic House and Techno sound? Blending between melodies, energy-sustaining synths, the atmosphere and the evolving groove throughout the track are the defining ‘ingredients’ of my sound. Did you learn something new while producing this track? Every production of mine has new knowledge attached to it. Specifically, in this track, it was to find a better approach for balancing multiple vocal atmospheric elements around the main vocal element. What is next for Sander Wilder? Any more releases coming up soon? Thank you for sharing more with us about ‘Timewarp’! Yes, actually, I have a very good period coming up from a Producer perspective – there are another 2 tracks locked up for release, you’ll find out more on my social media about release dates. Thank you – happy to share insights with you about the ‘Timewarp’ release. As we look forward to hearing more from Sander Wilder soon, we conclude our interview with him, thanking him for sharing such an insightful glimpse into his track ‘Timewarp’; sure to continue carving out a unique path within Electronic Music, continuing to bring exciting releases for fans to immerse themselves in, we eagerly encourage you to keep Sander Wilder on your radar by following him across social media. 5. Symbiosis by Callecat Dutch producers Koen and Gijs, aka Callecat, present the hotly anticipated Symbiosis album, released on 12th April on Manual Music. Every collaboration is equally as brilliant as the previous, taking you on a blissed-out journey with some of the best producers in electronic music. Callecat themselves are very much a symbiotic relationship. Koen is more the DJ and Gijs the producer in this union, though both are very capable in each field. Their shared sense of humour adds a playful twist to their productions. Their fun-loving and light-hearted approach in their Utrecht studio helps bring you some of the best progressive electronic music around. Callecat feels that making and experiencing music is even more special when you attract other people to it. This inspired them to make this album the way it was made together… In symbiosis: “the interaction between two or more different organisms, to the advantage of both”. The first track, The Intro sets the scene perfectly for the album and for the dreamy Embracing Nature with Gustin, who brought a beautiful Balearic feel with him from Ibiza. This leads you into The Balance of Being with Bodai, whose organic production style and warm vocal tones send you into serenity. Juliane Wolf’s beautiful melodies on Journey of Species seamlessly combine with a compelling danceability and Nick Varon adds a deep and groovy melodic twist to Beyond Perceptions. Hobin Rude’s deep, dark driving vibe resonates from the depths of Infinite Enclosure and Meeting Molly brings the groove and atmosphere to Unified Formulas. Not Demure’s fantastic lead sound shines on Recurring Phases and Paul Hazendonk (head honcho of Manual Music) has an incredible instinct for what makes a dancefloor groove, on State of Mind. The Wash incorporates the mesmerizing arpeggio to Symbiotic Symphony. Fabri Lopez enriches Mutual Horizons with cool quirky sounds and a beautiful arrangement. Forty Cats’ beautiful melodic moments bring subtle atmospheres to Interconnecting Echoes without losing Callecat’s edginess. Around Us are good friends and repeat collaborators with Callecat, their infinite creativity shining through on In Unity We Thrive. By the time The Outro has finished, you will want to put the album back to the start and hear the whole brilliant release again. In fact, the first notes on The Intro match perfectly with the last notes from The Outro, enabling you to loop the album seamlessly. With Symbiosis, Callecat bring you music for the soul that will guide you through 2024. In a time when the world is divided, Koen and Gijs bring you a slice of joy to show what can be achieved when we work together in harmony, with a smile on our faces. 15. Because one wasn’t enough this week. –CLICK HERE FOR PART ONE OF THIS WEEK’S SELECTION– Here are even more of our top picks for our New Music Friday series, in no particular order. Logan Garrett feat. Skizzy Mars – Deep End Genre: Tech House You can tell Tech House rules. We couldn’t resist fitting one more track in this week’s compilation. And, I’d say, with good reason. Don’t believe me? Here’s ‘Deep End‘, the latest track from Nashville producer Logan Garrett, featuring the triplet-tempo lines from Skizzy Mars. What’s quite special about this track is how dynamic and fresh it sounds. It’s a bomb from start to finish, but presenting and departing various textures and elements in and out of the scene. All while maintaining the high energy so synonym to this genre. It’s catchy, quite so! Innellea – The Oar I Never Got Genre: Drum & Bass German sensation Innellea is back with quite the track this time. Unveiled, premiered, tested and approved during his latest album tour, ‘The Oar I Never Got‘ comes to grace your favourite day of the week with a daring, melodic and fast-paced composition that blends the best of the slower BPM progressions with the energy of Drum & Bass. He reflects on the single as a very special moment for him as an artist: “Ever felt like you’re drifting, like you’re always in the wrong place? Yeah, me too. But this track is about finding that missing piece, that sense of belonging. It’s a mix of hope and reminiscence, blending experimental synth waves with a touch of Jungle vibes“. The 1975 – Oh Caroline (TATE SEDAR Remix) Genre: Bass House, Progressive House Oh, this track. Upon first listen, we got sent ten years back in a heartbeat. Such a vibe, such an exquisite blend of elements, none super overwhelming but certainly none underwhelming. We’re talking about TATE SEDAR‘s remix of The 1975’s hit, ‘Oh Caroline‘. It’s so good we’ve had to break the self-imposed No-SoundCloud rule again. Is it even a rule anymore? This really screams 2014-2015. The style of the arrangement is the portrayal of a car ride with friends down a coastal highway. Good times, laughs, loud music, a memorable day ahead. While you’re waiting for summer to arrive, this is the perfect way to get in the mood. Oh, little detail, you can claim your free copy on the embed below! RE: TATE SEDAR · Oh Caroline (TATE SEDAR Remix) – The 1975 Wassu & Phonic Youth – Clarity Genre: Organic House This track right here. Sooooo goooood. What’s better than Wassu? Wassu alongside Phonic Youth, and released on Colorize. We’re so excited to pick this track as our Organic House representative of the week. Because this truly embodies everything the genre should contain: groove, melody, good vibes, and danceability. 10 points. Enjoy the soft, warm soul of ‘Clarity‘, a piece that is best enjoyed either with eyes closed, or eyes opened in front of a sunset. Hypnotic elements carry you away, and rainy textures caress your ears in between beats, to keep you hooked while you’re not moving from side to side. Quality in its purest form. Maddo – Close Your Eyes Genre: Happy Hardcore, Trance After featuring his track ‘Bad Habit’ on one of last month’s NMFs, Irish producer Maddo is back on our roundup, presenting his latest, and frankly gigantic, new tune titled ‘Close Your Eyes‘. A journey through the senses, and a surprising pat on the back that can double play as a festival closer as well. With a vibe that can be best described as an unlikely yet very well-executed middle ground between Happy Hardcore and Trance, ‘Close Your Eyes’ is one of those special tracks where melody and feeling meet untameable force. The kick-rolling bass pairing will have you dancing out your best moves, that we’re sure of! Listen and figure out yourself. Final Words Stay tuned, for more of our compilations every Friday — based on demand. See you in two weeks, as I’ll be away next Friday. We return on W17! 16. Listen to the most flavour-packed tracks we discovered this week. Music makes the world go round. And in that regard, we’re constantly on the lookout for new, exciting tunes to share with our audience. We’ve found some that cause goosebumps, and make you open your eyes and get up from your chair to dance. So put on your best pair of headphones, or turn up your speakers, and enjoy this week’s New Music Friday. Before we start, we had A LOT of great tracks this time! So much so we’ve had to do a part two. We hadn’t done that in a hot minute! Here are our top picks for the best music we came across this week, in no particular order. Nifra & Frank Spector – Comme Un Reve Genre: Trance, Techno (Peak-Time) Kicking off this week, we’re not messing about. Nor are the artists involved. IDMA-nominated DJ and producer Nifra is releasing her latest banger, ‘Comme Un Reve‘, alongside Armada veteran Frank Spector. This one is for everybody warming up their engines for the weekend ahead. A perfect hybrid capturing the power of Techno and the melodic essence of Trance, this track feels like a rollercoaster, going up and down in energy, and then throwing you into a proper state of trance during the weightless moment of the break just before the huge saws come back. Quite the experience. Would recommend. NGHTMRE & Liquid Stranger feat. Mougleta – Restless Genre: Dubstep If you saw the artists’ names and thought straight away, “This has got to be good“, ding ding! You’re absolutely right. We have a collaboration for the books out today as the genre-defining sound of NGHTMRE meets heavyweights Liquid Stranger and Mougleta on their latest single ‘Restless‘. An undeniable powerhouse for packed festivals, the track hooks you from the very start with Mougleta’s vocals, warm piano chords, an irresistible buildup, and, well, a pair of drops that live up to what you’d expect from giants like these guys. Try not to headbang, it’s a challenge. Mojave Max & HAWD HITTA with Rogelio Douglas, Jr. – Come With Me Genre: Tech House “Tonight’s the night“! Tech House has been on a roll on our New Music Fridays lately, with almost every week containing at least one track of the genre. We’re glad to announce this week is no exception! L.A.-based Mojave Max and Label Founder HAWD HITTA are joined by singer and songwriter Rogelio Douglas, Jr. on a groundbreaking triple instance, ‘Come With Me‘. Hot groovy bass plucks meet laser one-shots, sexy percussion, and the energising voice of Douglas, Jr. to provide the necessary shot of auditive caffeine you didn’t know you needed. A Deep-House-infused intimate vibe dressed in the modern clothing of Tech House, this is. Hot Pursuit – Poco Loco Genre: Tech House And how about two Tech House belters one after the other? This one coming from the legendary Perfecto family of labels, we’ve got a track that is, well, perfecta. Over ten years after he started his journey on the music industry, producer Hot Pursuit brings the heat to our Friday with ‘Poco Loco‘. This one is a lemon-face-inducing piece of Tribal-flirty goodness. Acid basslines drive you through the rhythmic rounds of percussion that set this one apart from the usual sound we’re hearing in the Techie corner of the Dance spectrum. And as playful as it is, it will have you begging for more. KSHMR & 22Bullets – Devotion Genre: Psytrance, Mainstage You wouldn’t say no to KSHMR, would you? Once a successful ghost producer — and one behind tracks like the global hit ‘Tsunami’ —, decided to make his alias and face public, and got even more success with it. He’s a prodigy and a master of the craft, and today he’s unveiled ‘Devotion‘, alongside Thai producer 22Bullets. A track made for the largest festivals you can think of, this one is their take on the 90s classic ‘(I Wanna Give You) Devotion’. It is a nod to the past in more than one way, though, as it’s being released this year as a celebration of 10 years of the KSHMR project, which kicked off in 2014 with the release of ‘Megalodon’ — one of my favourites back in High School. Finlay C – Last Time Genre: Future House, Dance Pop From Techie that has you magnetised to the ground to an ethereal Future House tune that has the potential to make you touch the sky. That’s how we feel about Finlay C‘s new single ‘Last Time‘. This is the award-nominated producer’s debut release of his very own imprint, Dead Palm Records, which was launched to, in his words, “become the new home for feel-good Dance music“. Uplifting vocals, off-beat chord plucks, a summer feel in every single element, and even strings. Because Finlay is going all-in on the feel-good attitude. We appreciate a smile! 18. Nora En Pure is getting right back it again with her latest atmospheric track, ‘The Other Side.’ Following off the heels of her club-inspired release, ‘Invasion of the Believers’, the Swiss-South African DJ reveals the softer side of her sound with this feel-good original. Conjuring a soothing and blissful soundscape, Nora En Pure’s new track blends signature piano chords with a slick percussive arrangement, accompanied by serene, airy vocals. For those looking to vibe to a track that is light on the bass, but is sure to awaken your senses, this single may just be what you are looking for. “In the fast paced world we live in, it’s this peaceful atmosphere that makes me feel a little more at ease. The softer music often comes to life after a heavy few weeks of touring. It gets so busy at times, and hard to keep up with everything, so it’s key to maintain a sense of tranquillity inside. It’s no secret that I think we have gone too far with technology, the way we have become connected non-stop and are constantly available for everything, our views and thoughts influenced by things that often aren’t a reality, let alone of relevance to our individual lives. Remind yourselves often what truly matters in your life, how you spend the most valuable commodity – your time – and what you can be grateful for.” – Nora En Pure Slow it down, relax, and immerse yourself in the tranquil melodies of Nora En Pure’s ‘The Other Side.’ The post Nora En Pure Drops New Tranquil Single ‘The Other Side’ appeared first on EDMTunes.
