CASSIMM, Mahalia Fontaine drop ‘Say Yeah’
Just when you thought the dancefloors couldn’t get any hotter, Italian house music prodigy CASSIMM has dropped another sizzling bomb with his latest heavyweight release “Say Yeah” on Toolroom Records. Teaming up with powerhouse vocalist Mahalia Fontaine, the track is a masterclass in peak-time club fuel. Fresh off the meteoric success of “Love Desire” on Claptone’s Golden Recordings imprint, which rocketed to #1 on Beatport and was one of the top 3 most played tracks of 2023 according to 1001tracklists, CASSIMM is showing no signs of slowing down his cosmic ascent. The Milanese groove architect’s signature sound is unmistakable – pounding basslines, razor-sharp drums and grooves for days form the backbone as Fontaine’s raspy, diva-esque vocals soar atop the anthemic dancefloor destroyer. It’s a lethal combo that’s sure to ignite crowds into a frenzy. The new heater arrives hot on the heels of CASSIMM being crowned Beatport’s #1 House Producer in their prestigious end-of-year awards. With dancefloor ordinance like this, it’s easy to see why the Italian stallion has risen to the top of the house music pantheon. Say yeah to this one if you know what’s good for your soul. Meow Wolf Co-Founder's Latest Venture Is a Futuristic Spa Experience
Imagine stepping into a realm where steam dances with light, each room whispers a different tale and wellness is reimagined through the lens of futuristic technology. That's the vision of Submersive, a groundbreaking spa concept conceived by Corvas Brinkerhoff, co-founder of the immersive arts giant Meow Wolf, according to Fast Company. Brinkerhoff's forthcoming concept is reportedly set to land in Austin in a 25,000-square-foot sanctuary that's said to merge the healing traditions of communal bathhouses with innovative art and AI, curating a spa-like experience that transcends mere relaxation to offer a profound journey of mental and sensory rejuvenation. Lua Brice/Submersive Brinkerhoff's move from the fantastical installations of Meow Wolf to the introspective ambiance of Submersive is fueled by his passion for using art and the environment to influence well-being. He was inspired during a visit to a Japanese-style bathhouse in Santa Fe, when he imagined a blend of immersive art with the soothing elements of steam baths, saunas and cold plunges. The concept has since evolved into a mission to harness neuroscience and AI tech to evoke states of awe and euphoria, fundamentally enhancing how visitors experience and benefit from a spa setting. At its core, Submersive promises an odyssey of the senses, challenging conventional wellness spaces by integrating video projections, steam, lasers and AI to create a transformative experience that transcends a visit to a conventional spa. Submersive's proprietors are aiming to open its doors by 2026, with a full launch of the completed venue on track for 2028.

Watch Knock2 and Zedd Electrify Echostage With Thrilling B2B Set
In an outing that melded raw energy with artistic synergy, Knock2 joined forces with Zedd for a collaborative DJ set that set Echostage alight. Knock2's live sets have turned heads throughout the dance music community as the EDM.com Class of 2023 star has delivered on a series of notable b2b performances in recent times, each seemingly more exhilarating than the last. From teaming up with RL Grime at Ultra Music Festival to joining forces with Dillon Francis at Imagine Music Festival, Knock2 has demonstrated a knack for dynamic performances that blend seamlessly with the styles of his high-profile peers. His recent performance at Echostage alongside Zedd ignited with the stadium-filling chants of the latter's "Beautiful Now," setting a tone that would only build as the night progressed. The energy in the room escalated as the music morphed into a pulsating four-on-the-floor groove, intertwining melodically with Knock2 and NGHTMRE's "One Chance." Knock2's signature robust beats never failed to energize the crowd, maintaining a high-octane vibe throughout the 90-minute spectacle. Amidst the familiar hits, the two also ventured into unexpected territories, including a thrilling excursion into drum & bass with Pendulum’s "Salt in the Wounds." Adding to the excitement, Knock2 previewed several unreleased tracks, including IDs with RL Grime, indicating that his meteoric journey is far from over. "When this all came together at first it sounded like an insane idea, because Rich and I don't make the same type of music," Zedd said on the mic at one point. "But at the end all that matters is good people, good times and good music. It doesn't matter what genre it is." You can watch the full set below courtesy of DerekD2. London’s We Are FSTVL Canceled Due to Heavy Rainfall
One of London’s biggest annual music festivals, We Are FSTVL, has been forced to cancel its 2024 edition after heavy rainfall left the planned venue unfit to host the event. Organizers of the festival had been preparing to welcome tens of thousands of revelers to Dagenham’s Central Park over the weekend of 25-26 May. However, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham has pulled the plug citing health and safety concerns with the site. In a statement, the council said its “recent assessment of Central Park, after record levels of rainfall this year, has found the site cannot safely host the physical demands of We Are FSTVL’s equipment and audience.” The move to the sprawling east London park was meant to be an exciting new chapter for We Are FSTVL after several years at its previous home in Upminster. Festival chiefs had invested significant time and money preparing Central Park, with new stages and immersive art installations planned. They had also curated a lineup boasting major electronic acts like Chase & Status, Eric Prydz, Jamie Jones and Marco Carola. But those performers will now have to wait until 2025 to take to the We Are FSTVL stage. A “devastated” crew of organizers released a full statement explaining the cancellation: We are devastated to announce that for reasons beyond our control, We Are FSTVL 2024 is unable to go ahead. Last year, when we were looking for a new home, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham offered us the beautiful Central Park and we worked with them to create detailed plans for how the Festival would work this year and be better than ever before. We had invested time and money into the new site, new stages and brought in a new Creative Team to bring the weekend to life with immersive experiences and large art installations, alongside the already fantastic lineup, which we couldn’t wait to share with you. Sadly, and just days before we were due to attend on-site to start the build, London Borough of Barking and Dagenham accepted that they could not deliver a safe event space that was fit for the purpose of allowing us to stage We Are FSTVL 2024. In a press release, the London Borough of Barking and Dagenham say that the difficult decision to cancel has been made for health and safety reasons after record levels of rainfall this year. We Are FSTVL London While the festival organizers did not disclose specifics of what made Central Park unsafe to host the event, the wet grounds clearly posed too much risk after the record-breaking deluges seen across London recently. The UK has experienced an extraordinarily sodden period, with England alone seeing 1,695.9mm of rainfall between October 2022 and March 2024 – the highest total for any 18-month span since records began in 1836. The previous record was just set the month prior. Those relentless downpours have left their mark on outdoor events across the country. Just this month, the Cheltenham Jazz Festival was forced to relocate from its traditional Montpellier Gardens due to waterlogged fields. While the cancellation is undoubtedly gutting for We Are FSTVL’s crew and attendees, public safety has to be the top priority. With the festival’s temporary infrastructure, staging, and crowds, any risk of ground disruption from the saturated soil posed an unacceptable hazard. Organizers said all ticketholders will receive full refunds, with plans already underway to bring We Are FSTVL back “better than ever before” in 2025 at a location still to be determined. “We are heartbroken by this decision and can’t wait to dance with you again in 2025 and show you everything we have been working on,” their statement reads. The drenched grounds of Central Park will get a year off to recover from both the festival preparations and endless months of torrential rains. Whenever and wherever the next We Are FSTVL is held, organizers and revelers alike will be hoping for sunnier skies. [EVENT REVIEW] Ultra Chile Returns After Nearly A Decade, And In Full Force Too
The large ‘U’ festival celebrated a fantastic return to South America recently. When you think of Ultra Music Festival, you likely gravitate towards Miami straight away. But we’re lucky enough to have them all over the world, celebrating parties far and wide. That is certainly a blessing for energetic crowds living in somewhat further places in the globe, like South America. I’ve been here for a while, and it’s safe to say it’s growing a strong community of Dance-devoted madmen like me. I’ve been lucky enough to get to know the Argentinian scene fairly well, and also those in its neighbouring country, Chile. This is a country where Hardstyle reigns supreme, and genres like Techno and its branches are seeing a roaring uptrend in the number of fans and followers. So much so, that Ultra themselves decided to pay a visit. A two-day visit, mind you. Ultra Chile: Its History Chile had its first Ultra in 2013, with the next two years also calling artists from around the world to come together on the far southern end of the globe for Ultra Chile 2014 and 2015. The year after, Chile received a more compact Road To Ultra, as well as in 2017, for the Ultra host of those years was the continental giant, Brazil. After that, Chile would have to wait some time before the brand set foot on it again. 2023 saw Road To Ultra return to the long country for a Halloween party, headlined by Marshmello, Nicky Romero, Oliver Heldens, and Two Friends. And this year, the acclaimed main branch returned in full force, with two days of unstoppable beats coming from a handful of places, and showcasing an impressive plethora of talents, established, up-and-coming, returning… everything. It was held on Friday, April 19th, and Saturday, April 20th, in Santiago’s iconic go-to place for massive events, Espacio Riesco. Day One: Friday Day One kicked off late in the afternoon, at 7 PM to be precise. The crowds started to appear from very early on. Once inside, it was time to have a look at the place, and, oh dear, they truly made the most out of the venue. Three of the four stages were on that day, the Mainstage, on the back of the property and boasting an impressive open-air setting, the Resistance stage, a blacked-out, massive former plane hangar to welcome the best Techno represents in the world, and the Carolina stage, a local-lineup filled stage out on the open. Day One Winners Jumping between the Mainstage and the Resistance stage allowed me to watch basically all artists for a little. That’s life at a festival, you can’t really marry one particular DJ. That said, I think I’ve got my favourite artist of the night, and it is Stephan Bodzin. I had never watched him play, so I was basically going in not knowing what to expect. Add to that, I was at the Main seeing Armin before, so I didn’t really know what I was about to witness. Walking into Resistance, the first thing I noticed was that there was A TON of space to dance and just be yourself. The Mainstage was filled to the brim with people, and well, that left the Techno-devoted stage with a crowd that was truly enjoying Bodzin’s magic. I did too. I swear, ten minutes in I was already fully hooked. Eyes closed, moving side to side, that kind of hooked. Him playing a live set was a tenfold amplifier as well, since he was interacting a lot with the audience, and the audience interacted a lot with him back. Ask me to name one track from his set, I can’t. But what I CAN recall vividly is how happy he was managing his instruments, and how happy the people dancing beside him were. I was one of them, fully gone away in a trance. A star for you, mate. Day Two: Saturday Day Two started quite earlier, promising twelve endless hours of good music. My friend — who flew in from Buenos Aires for the festival — and I entered the place just past 2:30 PM. And after a little day tour of the venue, we headed straight to the brand-new Resistance Square stage. Reason being, Daniella Da Silva was on at 3:00. The stage itself was really interesting to me, since the Ultra guys turned this giant conference place into the host for the darkest, most energetic beats of the entire day. I remember my highschool once took me for University speeches or something of that kind literal years ago, and seeing it changed to fit a literal Ultra festival blew me away. The other stages were just as breathtaking as the day before, and now places like the Mainstage enjoyed the geographic surroundings of Espacio Riesco: mountains for days. It was another level. Point for you, day parties! Day Two Winners Daniella Da Silva My friend wanted to see her so badly, and I wanted to learn from someone new to me. Good. Lord. Those were 90 minutes of nonstop dancing. There are pictures and videos of me absolutely losing it during her set which I won’t show for, reasons, but let me tell you, her energy is sensational. Dark, Hard Techno. I’m not of the kind to enjoy that in a car ride or on a normal day, but I for sure allowed myself to enjoy her beats at Ultra. I felt slightly sore after that, and that should tell you enough of how good of a set hers was. Hardwell My childhood hero. How wouldn’t I have enjoyed Hardwell’s set when he was my role model when I was in school back in the day? Growing up loving ‘Encoded’, ‘Spaceman’, and his remix of ‘Man With The Red Face’, it was about time to see him again. Absolutely nuts. Lots of what he played I had heard before at his Ultra Miami set from earlier this year, but far from taking away from the experience, it allowed me to sing my lungs out. Special shoutout to that ‘Strobe‘ x ‘Save The World‘ mashup which nearly got me crying. Kasablanca These guys take the gold for me, no question. Seeing Hardwell, you know beforehand that it’s going to be a phenomenal show, but I had never seen Kasablanca before. I’d only heard their Anjuna tunes. And so my friend and I got to the very front of the Mainstage to see them. We could not have decided better. They played a live set, just like Bodzin had done the day before. The difference here was the setting: While Stephan Bodzin played inside the warehouse vibe of the Resistance stage, Kasablanca did it out in the open. And their set just so happened to occur during the last hours of the day and into the night, sunset included. They absolutely rocked it. From synths to vocals to literal choreography, their set had it all. They truly made good use of the Mainstage speakers as well, with their fat-bottomed tracks. I can’t tell you just how magical that time was, even the landscape fit the vibe of their music. Mountains all around, the clouds turning slightly red at sunset (see a few pictures above), and the moon reigning high aloft by the time they dropped their remix of Above & Beyond’s ‘Black Room Boy’. The duo take the gold, and my heart with it. I won’t turn down the possibility of seeing them in the future. Final Thoughts It had been a while since I last attended a big festival, since I’d been much more inclined to go to artist-focused events. It was a refreshing treat to come to Ultra Chile and soak in the festival experience again. My mate and I had a great time, enjoyed the food (shoutout to Papa John’s), the Gin Tonics, and the feel-good atmosphere. For now, be right back, I’ll be listening to Kasablanca! The chart-topping duo has announced a new EP, No Hard Feelings, their first since 2016's Collage. Vintage Culture's pursuit of the promised land is underway after he announced a 2024 world tour. It's a big moment for the Brazilian dance music superstar, who is less than a month away from the release of his long-awaited debut album, Promised Land. The album will feature 16 tracks, including collaborations with The Temper Trap, NoMBe and Goodboys, among others. "Promised Land is the culmination of a four-year journey and the fulfillment of a lifelong dream," Vintage Culture said in a press release. "I've poured my heart into this album, and I believe it is reflected in the music. Promised Land represents the essence of who I am as an artist. Through my creative voyage as an artist, this complete piece of work is what I'm most proud of." The world tour kicks off in Australia in early-May before traveling to Bali, Dubai, Amsterdam and other major international cities. Promised Land will then drop on May 24th and Vintage Culture will head to Miami the following night for what should be a barn-burner at the iconic Club Space. From there, he'll head back to Brazil for a flurry of momentous homeland shows and then to Ibiza, Berlin, Paris and many more cities. Another surefire highlight will come on July 19th, when he DJs at the epochal 20th anniversary of Tomorrowland. You can check out the full list of dates below and pre-save Promised Land here. Gryffin Wants to DJ at Your Wedding
In a romantic gesture straight out of his global dance hit "Tie Me Down," Gryffin has offered to spin at the wedding of one lucky fan. The chart-topping dance music star recently DJed at the wedding reception of tech billionaire Ankur Jain and former WWE wrestler Erika Hammond, who tied the knot in an opulent ceremony at Egypt's Great Pyramids of Giza. But thankfully you don't need a nine-figure net worth and a private jet to book him. Engaged couples are now lining up for the chance to have Gryffin tie them down after he posted a mouthwatering proposal of his own on Instagram: just tag anyone you know with nuptials on the horizon and he'll pick one. The romantic nature of electronic dance music isn't lost on Gryffin, who is currently gearing up for the release of his third studio album, Pulse. "There's just nothing like the energy you get being at a show, festival or club," he told EDM.com in an interview last month. "Feeling the music pulsing. The production that's going on around you. The people that are there and the energy and love that's in the crowd. I just don't think there's any genre of music that has the same energy and love in the room as dance music." You can check out Gryffin's post below. View the original article to see embedded media. 10 Years Later: EDC Lineup 2014 to 2024
As we approach EDC Las Vegas 2024, let’s rewind the clock and take a look at this year’s lineup compared to that of 2014, ten years prior. By contrasting the lineups from 2014 and the upcoming 2024 edition, we get a glimpse into how the scene and music taste has changed over the years. Back in 2014, EDC Vegas hosted a staggering lineup spanning hundreds of artists across the electronic music spectrum. While stacked with the biggest mainstream EDM names at the time like Avicii, Tiësto, Calvin Harris, and Hardwell, the 2014 bill featured an incredibly diverse mix of acts. From heavy hitters like Bingo Players, Showtek, and Knife Party repping electro house to underground legends like Green Velvet, Art Department, and Justin Martin flying the tech house flag, EDC‘s 2014 lineup was more electro house heavy which was indictive of the tastes of the time. Trance was well-represented (and still continues to be represented) by the likes of Armin van Buuren, Infected Mushroom, and Dash Berlin, while bass music enthusiasts could catch sets from 12th Planet, Downlink, and the then-emerging Destroid project. Fast forward to 2024 and this diversity remains, though the genres dominating the bill have clearly shifted. Techno and drum & bass have surged in popularity, with heavy hitters like Adam Beyer, Nicole Moudaber, Amelie Lens, Dimension, and Wilkinson earning top billings. The hard dance domain also maintains its EDC presence through artists like Da Tweekaz, Sub Zero Project, and Lil Texas. Trance still holds a strong foothold in 2024, as veterans like Ferry Corsten, Aly & Fila, and Andrew Rayel are joined by a new generation including AVIRA. While the shifting tides of electronic music have touched all corners of the lineup, perhaps the most notable evolution is the rise of the back-to-back (B2B) set as a festival staple. Where they were a relative rarity in 2014, B2B performances are now a core draw, with marquee pairings like Carl Cox B2B Nicole Moudaber, John Summit B2B Green Velvet, and Subtronics B2B Level Up highlighting the 2024 bill. Amid this sea of change, a few core names have remained fixtures, bridging the gap between the two eras. EDC Vegas stalwarts like Steve Aoki, Fedde Le Grand, Armin van Buuren, Infected Mushroom, Carl Cox, and Darren Styles graced the lineup in both 2014 and 2024 – a testament to their lasting relevance and the festival’s continued ability to attract the biggest artists in the game. As the popularity of electronic music continues to explode globally, so too has the star power gracing the annual EDC Vegas pilgrimage.

MADE Festival drops full lineup for a huge 10th edition
MADE Festival has announced its full lineup as it reaches an incredible 10-year milestone as the biggest and best music and arts festival in the West Midlands. Now bringing all acts together for one almighty birthday party from midday to 11pm on Saturday 3rd August in The Digbeth Triangle in the heart of Birmingham, MADE’s 10th delivers a mouthwatering lineup for all fans of drum & bass, bass, UK rap, garage, house, disco and more. Midlands party people can explore the huge, multi-venue inner city, 10-stage site to enjoy headline sets from Bru-C, Dizzee Rascal, and Bou, and an array of talent including Ewan McVicar, K Motionz, Holy Goof B2B TS7, Jaguar Skills, Skepsis, A Little Sound, Window Kid, 24hr Garage Girls, 4AM Kru, Serum, La La, General Levy, Issey Cross, DJ Q and many more. Sign-ups are open and tickets go on sale at 10am on Tuesday from www.made-festival.co.uk. This is Birmingham’s biggest party of the summer. Independent promoters, Weird Science, run club events for over 150,000 people annually and MADE Festival began as their passion project in the creative hub of Digbeth. The intention was to provide a platform for local artists and an opportunity for local businesses. MADE expanded and outgrew Digbeth’s multitude of evolving spaces, moving across the city in 2018 to the greenfield site of Perry Park, where 20,000 festival fans helped put MADE firmly on the national map. After enforced moves to Sandwell Valley, then Wolverhampton Racecourse, MADE Festival made a triumphant return to its spiritual home of The Digbeth Triangle in 2023 and laid the foundations to celebrate 10 years this summer. Saturday 3rd August sees the perpetually rising star and multi-platinum-selling MC and rapper, Bru-C take over the MADE Stage. With a slew of underground cuts and crossover bangers including his UK top 15 smash ‘No Excuses’ and Nathan Dawe collab ‘Oh Baby’, Bru-C drew huge crowds at his last MADE appearance in 2022 and earned his invite back to headline the 10th edition. BRIT, MOBO and Mercury Prize-winning MC and rapper, Dizzee Rascal is another MADE fave, tearing it up on his last appearance in 2018 for the 5th edition of the festival. Dizzee led the way for generations of UK rap scoring 5 UK Top 10 albums, 5 UK no.1 singles including ‘Dance Wiv Me’, ‘Holiday’ and possibly the biggest festival tune of all time ‘Bonkers’. He remains as relevant as ever with new album ‘Don’t Take It Personal’ crashing into the charts this year. Trailblazing star of drum & bass, Bou, steps up to MADE main stage and undoubtedly deserves his slot. With one of the biggest tracks of the year ‘Baddadan’ with Chase & Status to his name, a major label deal, and a slew of massive DJ sets under his belt, Bou can confidently stake a claim as D&B’s next-gen superstar. His big USA / Canada tour will warm him up, just in time to get MADE crowds bouncing. The MADE Stage also sees quality garage vibes from 24hr Garage Girls, infectious bars from Bru-C collaborator Window Kid, UK jungle from 4AM Kru, sweet vocals from breakout ‘Bittersweet Goodbye’ star Issey Cross, and more. The house heads are fully catered for on the Raw Stage with in-demand talent, Ewan McVicar dropping a funked-up headline set, while La La is sure to up the tempo and show why she’s recently delivered mixes for Feel My Bicep, Boiler Room, and Radio 1. Look out for some other big artist announcements coming soon for this stage. Weird Science presents a stage full of drum & bass stars, hosted by Inja, SP:MC, IC3, Carasel, and Comma Dee. Birmingham’s fast rising star K-Motionz headlines as one of the genre’s most exciting artists, in high demand across the globe. His productions including ‘Only You’, ‘High Note’ and last year’s banger ‘Vino Bandit’ have seen his stock rise even higher. Serum is ⅓ of Kings Of The Rollers and knows how to get a crowd jumping. He’ll be dropping his summer anthem ‘Spray Tan’ for the MADE massive. DJ and vocalist A Little Sound is carving her own lane in D&B and going from strength to strength. She lands at MADE as part of a packed summer schedule. Drum & bass legends Dillinja and Randall step up for a special MADE 10th Anniversary B2B set, while rising star Kara shows she deserves her Drum & Bass Award for Best Female Producer. The 02:31 Stage sees another very special B2B, this time between the mighty Holy Goof and TS7. Expect major sonic fireworks. Skepsis performs, continuing his rise after slamming into the UK charts with ‘Rave Out’ and ‘Green And Gold’. This stage is guaranteed to be jumping as DJ Q, Girls Next Door, and Burga Boy all line up for turntable duty. A real treat is the House Of Legends & Thirty Present Fish Tales Stage where some bonafide legends of the scene are ready to showcase their skills. Bringing the positive vibes from TikTok, Fish56Octagon plays alongside hard dance pioneer Fergie for a world exclusive back to back set. Very special guest Jaguar Skills brings his ‘tribute to The Prodigy’ set to MADE – this one should not be missed. When Utah Saints step up to the decks the crowds know that something good is going to happen. Plump DJs land at MADE with their unique brand of beats and breaks mixing old school with the new. There’s plenty more jungle and D&B as RCE Presents 10 Years Of Jungle Cakes. Headlining this stage is the one and only General Levy who never disappoints. Another highlight is the 10 year B2B special – Deekline B2B Ed Solo B2B Benny Page. This trio guarantees the highest quality tune selection. Special guest Bryan Gee will dig deep into his coveted record collection to drop a massive jungle set. MADE Festival continues to heavily support local promoters and talent, providing opportunities for stage takeovers and connections to local clubbers. The 10th edition of MADE sees a range of styles and genres with something to get everyone dancing. The 2Tekky x Serious Selectas Stage brings a host of UKG, wobbling basslines, and breakbeat NRG. There’s a mix of house, tech, and minimal goodness at the CNTRL x ESVDRA x SHUBZ Stage, while the RE:CORD x Discotech Stage takes an underground trip into house. Duck DnB x Selecta bring some scorching drum & bass with a selection of up and coming local stars. Digbeth Dining Club are on hand to ensure a quality selection of delicious food options from local traders, and expect some seriously talented graffiti artists from the region to be on hand to create art live throughout the day. MADE Festival knows better than anyone how to make the most of The Digbeth Triangle’s unique mix of outdoor and indoor spaces. From midday through to 11pm, the whole area will be alive with music, arts and the sound of people having a good time. MADE Festival turns 10 and everything is ready for the celebration of a decade.
