Ultra Naté ‘HAPPY FEELING’ gets 9 remix and a music video
Ultra Naté delivers a remix pack quite literally for the ages as she and fellow producers Russell Small (The Freemasons) and DNO P unveil the full package for HAPPY FEELING, alongside the long-awaited official video for the blistering original cut. A clip to go with “HAPPY FEELING” was really imperative for me. and it had to convey not only how the song makes me feel, but how I want the viewer to feel. Lots of popping color in an iconic locale was immediately the plan. What better place than my favorite quickie getaway – Miami! Aside from the gorgeous sun, beach and palm trees, there’s Miami’s glitzy energy on the backdrop of a rich, cultural landscape. I wanted to capture all of that, and I’ve been super lucky to find such a talented DP like Katie Simbala and an amazing team of creatives to help bring the concept to life! – Ultra Naté The video is full of bright colors and lots of energy, and each shot more than matches the single’s upbeat mood. The visuals support the track’s message of happiness and are the perfect way to get into the huge number of remixes that come out on the same day. The carefully chosen songs cover a wide range of house music styles, from nu disco from the 1970s and synth pop from the 1980s to booty luv house, bass-heavy NYC underground, and mainstage rave-up hits. Cevin Fisher, Les Bisous, Slowz, D’Angello & Francis, 808 BEACH, and Odyssey Inc. will all remix and remake songs. It’s time to sprinkle some happy dust on clubland dance floors! I’m really proud of this collection of remixes and it’s timed perfectly as we move through Spring into the Summer season. The HAPPY FEELING remix package gives you everything from poolside cool to peak hour bangers, but most importantly it’s a feel good tune that makes you sing-a-long and gets stuck in your head! The goal when I wrote this song, was to remind us all that no matter how dark and bleak things can get, there is still something transcendental about music. – Ultra Naté Odyssey Inc. remix Because they liked old Giorgio Moroder music, Odyssey Inc. planted their flag in the sand as soon as the needle dropped. The remix by Mark Jones and Paul Gullefer is meant to tear up the dance floor; it’s loud, relentless, driving, and dripping with tuff-disco glamour. To live up to his name, Slowz slows things down even more by adding soft percussion pads and sparkling, delicate synth runs that cover the whole thing in shimmering shades of soft, Miami-style 80s pop. John “J-C” Carr and Bill Coleman The 808 BEACH mix by John “J-C” Carr and Bill Coleman takes you back to a really great time in US house music. Their chugging, jackin’, peak-time driver lets Ultra’s voice soar over the top, pulling and emphasizing the original strings to get the most out of them. Ultra and Les Bisous worked together on Ultra’s remake of Top 5 Pointer Sisters’ song DANGEROUS (So Dare Me) in 2023. Now, Les Bisous release a preppy, peppy Summer disco edit with Stock Aitken Waterman-inspired brass and synth sections and a bubbly, French-touch bassline. D’Angello & Francis D’Angello & Francis of SmashTheHouse have the surprise mix of the pack. Instead of using typical funk and house sounds, the two add a rave-ier edit and speed up the beats, making a track that would have fit in well on the hard house and trance dance floors of the late 1990s and early 2000s, or with today’s clubbers who want their anthems to be harder and faster. Russell Small’s unique style and ability to stand up with artists like Guetta, Sinclar, Basement Jaxx, and others—his use of strings, piano, and swirling guitars—are emphasized in the Happy Faith remix, which honors all that the classic Funky House era had to offer. Cevin Fisher Remix The Top 10 Cevin Fisher Remix and the Cevin Fisher Beats Remix bring HAPPY FEELING up to the present day and are already a huge hit on Traxsource, where they were released early as an exclusive. The first is a boiling deep house cut, and the second is a burning tribal take. Both are happy to celebrate Ultra’s vocal topline by one of New York’s best. The favorite Original Club Mix, which was the first song from the remix package, rounds out the package. Alesso drops new 3-track EP ‘Hypnotize’
Alesso is now exploring bass house further with his new EP Hypnotize. This comes after his first attempt at the style with “Zig Zag.” The three-song collection is a big change from his famously pop sound on Body Hi/Capitol Records. Alesso has been making progressive house and pop-oriented music for the past few years, but the Hypnotize EP is a little different. “The Rhythm of the Night,” which masterfully weaves the iconic sample of Corona’s timeless original song into his own version of modern dance tapestry, is one of the three tracks on this time’s collection. The other two are brand-new singles, and the third is the previously released track “Zig Zag.” The project shows how good Alesso is at blending his emotional signature sound with different types of electronic music, like techno and progressive house, while still being a part of the underground electronic music scene. After Alesso’s electrifying DoLab set at Coachella, during his first appearance under his new name, Body Hi by Alesso, this much-anticipated release comes right after it. This is the start of a big growth, and it’s only the first part of a much bigger story for Alesso. He recently played at Coachella under the name Body Hi. This year, the name will take on a life of its own. Alesso is moving in a new and exciting direction with this growth, which shows that he can not only make chart-topping hits but also develop a full artistic vision. Fans can see Alesso live in a few weeks as he lights up stages in the U.S., Europe, and other places, playing a dynamic mix of his new works and his classic tracks. Alesso’s tour will soon stop at Tomorrowland, EDC Las Vegas, and his famous resident shows in Las Vegas. The post Alesso drops new 3-track EP ‘Hypnotize’ appeared first on The Groove Cartel.

Released 11 Years Ago: Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash, John Martin – Reload
Eleven years ago, the electronic dance music community was gifted with ‘Reload’, a track that became an instant classic and an anthem in the EDM world. The initial collaboration between Sebastian Ingrosso, one of the stalwarts of Swedish House Mafia, and Australian producer Tommy Trash, resulted in an electrifying instrumental track released in 2012. However, it was the addition of John Martin‘s powerful vocals in 2013 that transformed ‘Reload’ into a monumental track that captivated audiences worldwide. Sebastian Ingrosso, fresh off the success of his massive hit ‘Calling (Lose My Mind)’ with Alesso, continued to demonstrate his prowess as a producer and label head of Refune with ‘Reload’. Tommy Trash brought his distinctive energy and style, known for robust and dynamic electro house flavors, which perfectly complemented Ingrosso’s polished production. The decision to bring in John Martin, known for his emotive and soaring vocals on Swedish House Mafia‘s ‘Don’t You Worry Child’, proved to be inspired. Martin‘s contribution elevated the track, turning it into a powerful narrative of resurgence and hope. ‘Reload’ stands out for its muscular drum beats, pulsing basslines, and an unforgettable melodic line that crescendos into a wave of soaring synths, perfectly capturing the euphoric feel of the biggest festival anthems. The song was not just a hit in terms of sales and streams; it became a staple in DJ sets around the globe, often serving as the climax of energy in countless live performances. This collaboration showcased a perfect blend of talents, uniting different aspects of electronic music into a cohesive and impactful track. ‘Reload’ remains a significant piece in the careers of Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash, and John Martin, celebrated for its ability to evoke strong emotions and create unforgettable moments on the dance floor. The legacy of ‘Reload’ continues to endure, exemplifying how innovative production, when paired with compelling vocals, can create a timeless anthem in the ever-evolving landscape of EDM.

Desert Hearts Taps Walker & Royce, VNSSA and Nala for Inagural Arizona Festival
After a turbulent 2023, which saw the Desert Hearts crew nix their multi-day lakeside plans for a city spinoff, the team behind the quirky transformative festival is gearing up for a whole new experience in 2024. Set to take place July 4-8, this year's Desert Hearts Festival will say goodbye to the Golden State and hop over to the scenic Arizona mountains for four days of non-stop revelry. The picturesque locale, which sits 30 minutes outside Flagstaff, will envelop attendees with its ponderosa pine forest 7,000 feet above the Grand Canyon State. Speaking about the move from their longtime California home, Desert Hearts co-founder Mikey Lion echoed the frustration felt across the industry. "The festival industry is in a make-or-break moment as it grapples with rising costs, market saturation and a stalling economy," he said. "Independent festivals and the communities that grow around them are the heart and soul of the music world, but they are struggling to survive." With a little less than two months before the sounds of house and techno envelop the Coconino National Forest, the Desert Hearts Crew has unveiled the roster of artists who will be performing throughout the Independence Day Weekender. Notable artists include Walker & Royce, VNSSA, Mary Droppinz, Nala, Rinzen, Ardalan, Lubelski and Anja Schneider, among others. Lion also emphasized the unique approach taken to the programming at Desert Hearts compared to other festivals. “While many festivals focus on recycling the same trending headliners to compete with festival giants, Desert Hearts is taking a different approach," he explained. "This year our festival is focused on building up our community, showcasing label friends and family, talented local DJs, and a number of our favorite international touring artists... We’re essentially programming a 72-hour DJ set with the right artists playing the right music at the right time. Everything Desert Hearts Festival does is geared towards creating the best possible vibe, and on July 4th weekend, we're going to throw the best party in the world." Desert Hearts Festival is set to take place July 4-8 at Playa Ponderosa outside of Flagstaff, Arizona. For tickets, camping and other information, navigate here.
