  1. Elderbrook · Elderbrook – Shallow Water Grammy-winning DJ and producer Elderbrook unveils his new single ‘Shallow Water’, out now. Building around a poignant vocal and uplifting organs, ‘Shallow Water’ is a pulsating and life-affirming single. The single also coincides with an enchanting official video on release day, directed by Phúóng Vū with the creative direction of Charlie Rees. The director Phúóng Vū commented “In traditional Vietnamese folklore, the sky is represented by the shape of a circle, while the earth is a square. Developing upon this idea, we wanted the video to feature Vietnam’s most stunning and raw natural landscapes, in combination with holistic choreography to present the human element along with giant, abstract and surreal spheres and cubes that symbolize the earth and the sky.” It follows Elderbrook’s triumphant 2024 return in April with ‘Glad I Found You’, his collaboration with esteemed dance producer George FitzGerald. Speaking on the record “In “Shallow Water”, the cards are down, bottom reached and there is nowhere left to go. Our subject has to be better, do better. The song hinges on these bargaining chips, on the get out clauses we give ourselves when we want to change but know it will be hard. It grapples with questions of integrity and our desire to better ourselves against the knowledge that true and meaningful change is difficult and often messy. It’s the never ending self doubt given a voice.” Having toured his acclaimed sophomore album Little Love last year with sold-out shows across the US, UK, Canada and Europe, as well as playing a sold out headline show at Colorado’s Red Rocks Amphitheatre this Spring, the singer-songwriter has a massive summer headline show coming up at New York’s Brooklyn Mirage on Friday, June 14th. Following that, Elderbrook has various shows in Ibiza this summer and another packed festival season in store, with appearances at Festivals including the likes of Boardmasters in the UK, Tomorrowland, Lollapalooza, Austin City Limits & Osheaga. Having toured with the likes of Jungle, Rufus Du Sol and Odesza, racked up over 2 billion streams to date and made a 2023 Coachella starring appearance, Elderbrook continues to prove himself a frontrunner in the electronic scene. ‘Shallow Water’ continues his roaring 2024 with a top-tier club anthem teeming with heart and soul. 3. Cercle announces the dates and locations for Cercle Odyssey. Mexico City, Los Angeles, and Paris will be among the few cities to host the world’s first large-scale 360-degree immersive nomad concert installation. Cercle Odyssey will take place on April 25th and 26th, 2025, in Mexico City, and on May 9th and 10th, 2025, in Los Angeles. The exact locations in both cities will be announced soon. On May 30th and 31st, 2025, Cercle Odyssey will come to Paris at Paris Expo Porte de Versailles, one of the largest exhibition centres in the French capital, located fifteen minutes from the Eiffel Tower. Each Cercle Odyssey’s capacity will be limited for a better experience. Pre-register HERE, to get preferred access to the ticket pre-sale opening this Monday, the 10th. General sale opens Tuesday, the 11th at 11 AM CDMX time / 10 AM LA time / 7 PM Paris time https://odyssey.cercle.io/ A JOURNEY BEYOND THE CONCERT Cercle Odyssey is a revolutionary experience that redefines live entertainment, offering a transcendental journey within an art installation. An odyssey through music, nature, and colours. Each Cercle Odyssey will be unique, offering a once-in-a-lifetime experience every time. Attend one or several; no two will be the same. “My current obsession is to create the shortest connection between the music played by the artist, the video narrative that we will present live on the screens and the audience’s emotions. I want to connect these 3 things together at the deepest level and I believe this is still underdeveloped in the entertainment industry. If, by the end of a Cercle Odyssey show, I see people on the dance floor literally moved to tears, then I will consider it a success.” Derek Barbolla (Cercle founder and Creative Director) Cercle Odyssey redefines the concert experience by intimately blending live music with a new type of visual storytelling within a 360° projection panorama. This modern odyssey, inspired by the myth of Ulysses, Cercle Odyssey, offers a multi-dimensional experience: Odyssey comes to each person, provoking that deep feeling of fulfilment upon returning home after a long journey. “Visually, we will keep up and even transcend our very specific and unique Cercle signature. The videos will be real, human and natural. We feel that we need this sort of humanity in the content, in a world where we sometimes feel disconnected from nature, from Earth… We are actually going the opposite way of most of the visuals we currently see in the electronic music scene. We will be working with the amazing Neels Castillon as a film director and the narrative and visual structure of Cercle Odyssey will revolve around the universal quest of “returning home,” inspired by the adventures of Homer’s hero. A few characters will evolve through encounters, beautiful landscapes, and natural phenomena, which merge through a prism of vivid and intimate colours. Each concert will be completely unique, and will unfold like a living painting.” Derek Barbolla Neels Castillon, globally represented by Ridley Scott Creative Group and co-founder of Motion Palace, will oversee the direction of Cercle Odyssey’s videos, infusing them with his distinct narrative style. The esteemed director is acclaimed for his ability to capture intimate and poetic moments in his films. With a distinctive aesthetic and keen artistic sensitivity, his work explores the human connection with nature and its vast, unexplored landscapes, making him a natural fit to bring Cercle Odyssey’s immersive vision to life. MUSIC AT THE HEART In terms of musical programming, Cercle Odyssey will collaborate with artists from various genres and backgrounds. The hallmark of careful musical curation lies in the selection of artists whose compositions seamlessly blend auditory and visual elements. These artists are revered for crafting music that resonates acoustically and paints vivid mental landscapes. The artists who will play at each Cercle Odyssey date will be revealed later in the year. POWERFUL AND PRECISE SOUND SPATIALIZATION Cercle also teams up with the Sound Experience Team of Ircam Amplify, to provide an unparalleled sound experience. By incorporating the company’s cutting-edge technology, this partnership will enable the spatialization of live artists’ music, transforming a stereo source into an immersive sonic landscape. Cercle Odyssey’s audience will experience immersive and precise sound, with a unique listening experience no matter where in the structure. INNOVATION MEETS SUSTAINABILITY Cercle’s scenography is a marvel of engineering and imagination, blending cutting-edge technology with sustainable design. “The scenography we created for Cercle, in its pure form, serves as a bridge between the event venue and the surrounding world, like a panoramic window onto the planet we inhabit. The monumental doors that comprise Odyssey transport us on a journey between dream and reality, between sky and earth, through space and time.” – Victor Perrin & Samuel Chatain, RAINBOW, Scenography Studio Central to the technical prowess are the 2300 m² of giant projection screens enveloping the audience. These state-of-the-art screens are 10 to 12 meters (up to 40 feet) high and up to 55 meters (up to 180 feet) long. Inspired by traditional movie screens, they showcase a dynamic array of high-quality images shot in 8K, meticulously synchronized live with the music. What sets Cercle Odyssey apart is not only the technical innovation but also its commitment to sustainability, due to all of the equipment (sound, light, and projectors) being sourced and rented locally. By opting for 29 state-of-the-art projectors instead of traditional LED screens to illuminate the scenography, Cercle eliminates the need to transport a massive load of LED screens. This drastically reduces transportation emissions and energy consumption. The use of projectors also represents a technical achievement. Cercle’s team seamlessly integrates these projectors to create a visually stunning experience that rivals traditional methods, all while maintaining a smaller carbon footprint. NO PHONE POLICY To ensure that every audience member can fully immerse themselves in the experience, phones are strictly forbidden inside the scenography. By disconnecting from digital distractions, attendees can focus solely on the emotive journey unfolding, allowing the music and visuals to transport them to new realms without interruption. This fosters a shared sense of presence and connection, amplifying the collective experience. However, as a parting souvenir, each guest will receive a folder of filmed content from Cercle. Cercle Odyssey pre-sales will open this Monday (June 10th). Pre-register HERE, to get preferred access to the ticket pre-sale opening this Monday, the 10th. General sale opens Tuesday, the 11th at 11 AM CDMX time / 10 AM LA time / 7 PM Paris time https://odyssey.cercle.io/ “I consider Cercle as an artistic movement, and I believe that all artistic endeavours must always evolve. Cercle’s mission is and will always be to create unique stages for unique artists. We will keep doing shows and festivals in unique locations!” Derek Barbolla The post Cercle announces ‘Cercle Odyssey’ dates and cities: Mexico City, Los Angeles and Paris appeared first on Decoded Magazine.

  9. *Featured Cover Photo Credit: Julian Bajsel On Saturday, June 1, Skrillex and Fred again.. electrified over 25,000 fans who showed up at San Francisco‘s Civic Center Plaza to see an unforgettable set from the two EDM stars. Though the plans had been in the works for a few months, Skrillex and Fred again.. had announced the event the weekend prior, with the former even uploading a post on X to confirm the San Francisco super-rave. Both EDM maestros then uploaded Instagram Story clips that included Ticketmaster links for the event, which went on sale at 12 p.m. on Tuesday, May 28th. The tickets quickly sold out and in a matter of time, even local and national news outlets such as ABC7 discussed the must-see event and the impact it would bring to the San Francisco entertainment scene. Here is the summary of one of the most-anticipated live events in San Francisco’s vibrant entertainment history. Photo Credit: Eric Dew Skrillex And Fred again.. Produced Unforgettable Events At The Civic Center Plaza When June 1st arrived, the event organizers and city officials (and staff) readied for the large turnout that would fill up the plaza in a matter of minutes. Although the event officially kicked off at 6:30 p.m. and ended at 10 p.m., to properly adhere to San Francisco’s curfew regulations regarding outdoor music events. Even way before 6:30 p.m., large crowds filled up the Civic Center Plaza and anticipated an event where it would take some time for anyone to get through the crowds and back onto an open space. Around the whole event area were plenty of food trucks, drink booths, and even the merch booth (later sold out of items) for the fans to bring home to their fans and family a memorable piece of merchandise from the event. When Skrillex and Fred again.. came onto the decks, the fans roared wildly in excitement and they knew that, no pun intended in relation to Skrillex’s awesome collaborative track with Boys Noise, it was going to be a fine day. Both artists played world-class bangers including ‘Peekaboo‘, ‘Badders‘, ‘Pepper‘, and the Sonny’s latest track that he produced alongside Hamdi and Taichu, ‘Push‘. The EDM stars themselves made incredible moments such as hyping up the fans by standing next to the decks and turning up the heat even more than it already had been. Towards the end of the event, Fred again.. even brought out Anderson .Paak to perform their latest track, ‘places to be’ and the crowd got even more excited when they saw the latter arrive on stage. Photo Credit: Skyler Greene (skygreene.com) Final words The event was a success and most definitely brought back a lot of vibrancy to the city of San Francisco. The strobe lights, the mesmerizing visuals shown in the backdrop of City Hall behind the stage, the top-quality music, and the genuine vibes of the crowd even attracted a crowd of curious locals and tourists who did not plan on attending the event, recorded clips and also danced to the beats and rhythms that Skrillex and Fred again.. provided. At the moment of this writing, Fred again.. is going to perform the last of his three-date shows at Stanford‘s Frost Amphitheater later today. He had already performed on June 4 and 5 and if anyone is interested in attending his event tonight, here is the link to purchase tickets for it. 12. Have you ever heard of an instrument called a squijeeblion? Neither have we—until we discovered this bizarre cover of Skrillex's "Scary Monsters and Nice Sprites." The eccentric instrument was invented by Leonard Solomon, who performs the cover himself. His YouTube channel features an array of other covers played on outlandish homemade instruments. The air-powered, acoustic squijeeblion sounds like a mixture of wind instruments, an organ and a foghorn, but the "bass drop" was the most surprising sound of all. Recreating the dubstep classic with a zany, whimsical touch, Solomon's squijeeblion cover is a perfect tribute to the 2010 dubstep classic. "This song always makes me smile and laugh when I listen to the original version, he wrote on YouTube. "I hope my rendition does something like that for you." 13. Over the last two weekends, We Belong Here put on some of the most unique events within the New York dance music scene in the past few years. The event group staged six unforgettable parties over two summer weekends at Governors Island, including Memorial Day Weekend. This summer series on Governors Island treated attendees to incredible panoramic views of the NYC skyline and neighboring structures like the Statue of Liberty. Open-air ferries whisked them to the island, and there were tons of amenities to explore beyond the festival itself. If you weren’t at Governors Island, due to prior commitments or travel plans, you definitely belong there! In terms of getting onto the island, attendees were able to hop on a short 15 minute ferry from South Street, and take in the picturesque city line views. After hopping off, there was another walk but went by very quickly because you were left taking in the views of the island and also the city from the other side. Once into the venue, you are treated to a grasslike field, sun-kissed vibes, and a bunch of food trucks/tables. It was a vibe in terms of how it felt like you were in a park or even having a picnic with friends. Foodtruck options were spectacular as well, with burgers, tacos, wings, fries, desserts, and even lobster rolls. There was also free water jug dispensers available so all you needed was your own cup/bottle. Throughout the six epic parties, the series featured diverse lineups with 23 artists across many different genres. During Memorial Day Weekend, the island had industry hitters such as Le Youth, Simon Dioty, Aluna, Tita Lau, Chapter & Verse, SIDEPIECE, Sam Blacky, and Bakke perform. Weekend two was also not lacking at all in terms of the talent We Belong Here brought to town. And during weekend two 5/31-6/2, Techno Queen Korolova, Jeremy Olander, Bakermat, Amtrac, Nora Van Elken, Calussa, and afro house talent Maz. Besides the amazing weekend over the two weekends, We Belong Here did a spectacular job in terms of presenting such an organized and unique island party experience. Attendees could feel the community and openness of the crowd, with the common denominator being their love for dance music. They also did not oversell the shows so that there was adequate space in the crowds to maneuver around. For those who wanted a more premium experience, VIP tables on the side were available for booking. “We’re committed to bringing unique experiences to unexpected locations across New York City and building community through music and connection, One thing that makes New York special is its island makeup. In the summer time, people travel around the world to experience dance music in island paradises, and we wanted to carve out a little slice of that right here at home.” – Justin Dauman, Co-Founder of We Belong Here “This is just the beginning of what we have in store for the local community. Our focus is on putting the fan experience at the center of every decision we make, and we can’t wait to continue bringing people together through the power of music.” – Charles Hochfelder, Co-Founder of We Belong Here Building on the enthusiasm for the Governors Island series, We Belong Here is bringing a similar series to Pier 16 later this summer. Continuing its commitment to creating unforgettable events in landmark locations, Pier 16 is the oldest active wooden pier in New York City not typically utilized for musical performances and We Belong Here is bringing in a production setup specifically for these events: Sunday, June 23rd, 5-10 PM: Massane + Jewels Sunday, July 28, 5-10 PM: Bontan + Black Circle with support from Branqueeno and Kitty Sunday, August 11, 5-10 PM: Sparrow & Barbossa with support from Purple For all upcoming We Belong Here shows, check their official website here. In particular, they will be hosting their We Belong Here Festival in Central Park, NY on Oct 4-6. The post We Belong Here Curated Two Special Weekends at Governors Island Feat. 16. AMF is setting the electronic music scene ablaze with the announcement of its full 2024 lineup featuring Tiësto, Marlon Hoffstadt, Timmy Trumpet, Maddix, Wade, Tita Lau and Showtek. This major news comes on the heels of announcing headliner Martin Garrix last week, solidifying AMF’s standing as the biggest party with the biggest names during Amsterdam Dance Event. There was already buzz that Garrix wouldn’t be the only local legend to play at AMF 2024. But, no one was expecting AMF to also pull industry icon Tiësto. Bringing these two together at AMF is a real full-circle moment for both Dutch artists who got their start in Amsterdam but have gone on to take over the world with their music. Joining these two are big names across an exciting variety of electronic music genres. Maddix will be slinging his signature techno-trance beats — his big room elements filling the entire Johan Cruijff Arena. Showtek will also be putting aside their famous house tracks to perform a very special Hardstyle Exclusive set. Marlon Hoffstadt is also taking the stage, who’s got the scene hot for his Daddy Trance tunes, as well as Wade, who they’re counting on to blow up the dance floor. Timmy Trumpet is also returning to AMF to spin tracks and play his signature horn. Finally, Tita Lau is set to deliver her biggest, bounciest, and most bass-heavy performance yet in front of 40,000 ravers at the world’s biggest nightclub. Soon to be announced is the AMF pre-show act. Last year AMF Early Access ticket holders got the chance to see Like Mike, and the year before that, Capuchon/Afrojack. This last big reveal is expected in the coming weeks. For more information about AMF visit this link here amf-festival.com. Stay tuned for more news! 18. Coming off a record-breaking world tour in support of his previous album, during which he sold out all dates months in advance, Ben Böhmer made a point to take time to himself and return to the space that compels him the most: his studio. It’s there that he’s able to truly channel his passion for spontaneous creativity and relentlessly focus on honing a craft that allows him to express deep, complex feelings. He tackled grief on his breakthrough debut album, Breathing, and separation on its follow-up, 2021’s Begin Again. Bloom is a reset, a confident reassertion of his own desires and more improvisational origins. In Bloom, we hear and feel Ben’s growth, the joyful pursuit of newness that pulls him back to the studio day after day, season after season. Moreover, Ben embraces his imperfect journey thus far on the forthcoming album’s first single, ”Best Life,’ featuring Berlin-based singer-songwriter duo JONAH. “Life is short and fast,” JONAH remarks on the track. “You try, you fail, and sometimes we lose a special person along the way who is irreplaceable, but the memories stay with us, shaping who we are. ‘Best Life’ is all about that rollercoaster ride of trying, failing, and a reminder of the importance of living each moment to the fullest.” Sonically, ‘Best Life’ is a bold step in a new direction for Böhmer, who is intent on growing out of the pre-fabricated boxes he’s been placed in. Böhmer’s songwriting and composing talents extend to the foreground on Bloom alongside revered artists like indie royalty Lykke Li, alt-pop duo Oh Wonder, Enfant Sauvage (of the French duo The Blaze), and more. The album features a swathe of styles and tempos that earlier tracks in his career feel like breadcrumbs to. Bloom Tracklist 1. Martin 2. Hiding (feat. Lykke Li) 3. Best Life (feat. JONAH) 4. 22. Las Vegas nightlife is about to gain some serious substance with the grand opening of a cutting-edge, 18,000-square-foot entertainment venue in the heart of the Fremont District. Amidst the glitz and glamour of Vegas' world-class clubbing sector, a new contender is emerging with a raw, warehouse-inspired experience: Substance. Opening its doors in July 2024, the venue promises a big lineup of electronic music artists, kicking off with an opening night appearance by Walker & Royce. Substance founders Marcel Correa and Joe Borusiewicz, celebrated for their contributions to the Las Vegas nightlife scene by way of their company RVLTN, have joined forces with Insomniac Events to bring top talent to Substance every week. Perched on the second floor of the Neonopolis Complex, Substance is a marvel of modern design, blending brutalist architecture with state-of-the-art audiovisual technology. The venue's low ceilings and industrial flair will create an intimate atmosphere, making every event feel like an underground rave in a post-apocalyptic warehouse. Correa and Borusiewicz shared their approach for the new venture in a press release with EDM.com. "Growing up in Las Vegas, we've always loved our great city and its incredible potential to become a thriving local music scene," they said. "We've attended countless shows, festivals, and events here and our passion has always been about serving our fellow locals. As promoters, working with various venues throughout the city has given us deep insight into what works and what doesn’t—from guest experience and operations to overall strategy. No one enjoys paying $30 for parking or navigating a casino just to attend an event. People dislike strict dress codes, long lines for drinks and bathrooms, poor sound quality, and gouging fees. At Substance, our goal is to create an entertainment destination that addresses these issues, incorporating everything we'd want as event producers and local music fans. We can’t wait to unveil our most exciting venture to date." Tickets to the July 12th opening of Substance are on sale starting 10am local time on June 7th.
  23. Since reuniting in 2019 after a five-year hiatus, Swedish House Mafia have been meticulously plotting their comeback – but the rollout for their new single “Lioness” has been anything but calculated. The full story: one year ago The legendary dance trio of Axwell, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Steve Angello first started teasing the track last autumn during their wildly popular Ibiza residency. They continued dropping teasers into early 2024, whipping fans into a frenzy for their first new original music in over a year. But promised release dates have come and gone as the Swedish DJs tinkered behind the scenes. After premiering an early version of “Lioness” at a homecoming show in Brooklyn in late April, they announced the song wouldn’t be released as planned because the “production” needed “last-minute changes.” The mixed messages spawned conspiracy theories and social media backlash from impatient fans. “This whole Lioness thing has become a Monty Python sketch,” one supporter vented on Reddit. “We learned not to trust them even if they officially announce a date,” added another. It’s an uncharacteristic misstep for the meticulously strategic Swedish House Mafia, whose 20-year rise from the underground to arena headliners was fueled by carefully plotted hype campaigns. Swedish House Mafia “Lioness” What will happen with the Swedish House Mafia in the next future? But those heady days of Don’t You Worry Child and Save The World may feel like ancient history if they can’t recapture that spark on “Lioness.” The song, which features Swedish indie-pop duo Niki & The Dove, aims to blend Swedish House Mafia’s bombastic energy with more ethereal melodies. It’s their first release since 2023’s low-key “Ray of Solar.” Swedish House Mafia have now confirmed “Lioness” will arrive tomorrow, June 7th – a year after they first started sharing clips. But this messy prelude shows the rebuild process hasn’t always been smooth. Were the delays simply part of an intricate roll-out strategy or a worrying lack of quality control? And can they win over the fickle festival crowd so easily in 2024 after a shaky return to the spotlight? Swedish House Mafia’s legacy was built on euphoric moments, both in the studio and on the stage. Hitting those heights again may prove their biggest challenge yet. 24. Last year they soared like pterodactyls. This year they're digging for fossils. After the recent reveal of the 2024 Lost Lands lineup, its organizers have returned with news of a major logistical upgrade, a permanent solution for attendees to safely navigate from the festival to the campgrounds. We've been reporting on how much Lost Lands has grown and improved since its debut in 2017. Since finding their home at Legend Valley, Excision and his team have expanded the festival via new stages, production and walkways, but the highway separating the venue and its campgrounds has always presented a vexing challenge. Organizers in 2023 helped ease the flow of foot traffic by constructing a large bridge over the highway, which eliminated the need to wait for police to stop cars from traveling down the busy road. They're now constructing a tunnel underneath the highway that will connect Lost Lands' venue and campgrounds without the need for stairs, so all can travel freely between the two areas without impeding traffic. The new tunnel is currently under construction, according to Lost Lands, and should be ready before this year's outing. You can read the official announcement below. The next Lost Lands festival will take place September 20-22 at Legend Valley in Thornville, Ohio. Tickets are on sale now. We’re very proud and excited to announce the new Lost Lands tunnel project! This permanent solution will allow attendees to easily transition between the campgrounds and festival grounds all week long.
