Out now via Three Six Zero Recordings, ‘In My Dreams’ serves as the sequel collaboration between Four Tet and Ellie Goulding after the British Electro-Pop star vocalist appeared on the Electronic music veteran’s track, ‘Baby’, from his 2020 album, Sixteen Oceans. Furthermore, the release of the track also comes after another collaboration in the form of the producer releasing his remix of the vocalist’s ‘Easy Lover’ back in 2022. The state is now in a time of year when the worst wildfires usually happen. In September and October, the plants on the ground are dry and can easily catch fire. This is because it’s been a dry and hot summer. Also, this is the time of year when winds from the ocean often blow. These winds can make fires spread much faster. Add intentionality to that and you often get disastrous results like the ones we’re seeing now, with the wildfires spreading dangerously fast and with a force that prevents efforts to contain it. Not only acres of land, homes, and power lines have suffered the effects of the fires. Entertainment also has. Insomniac’s Nocturnal Wonderland has just released a statement in which they announce the festival, as of now, has been canceled. This, due to the fire approaching Glen Helen Regional Park, the place set as the venue for the gathering. It’s a sad and unfortunate move for attendees, but it’s also for their safety, and everyone else involved in such a large project. The statement reads: “Dear headliners, While Nocturnal Wonderland was cleared to move forward at the time of our last update, we are saddened to inform you that new fires in the San Bernardino area have ignited over the past 36 hours and are now approaching the Glen Helen Amphitheater. (…) After further discussions with local authorities, due to the impact of the fires surrounding the venue, we will be unable to proceed with Nocturnal Wonderland. Today, their new single Break My Love is out. The album, as well as the new single, will be out on Rose Avenue/Reprise Records. Inhale / Exhale marks a new creative groove for the band. This is something different from what you have heard before from them. RÜFÜS DU SOL is an era that is defined by enjoying the process and creating from the now while binding organic and electronic. The warm, escapist dance music of RÜFÜS DU SOL will soon return to soundtrack our lives after the band announced a new album, Inhale / Exhale. Scheduled to release October 11th, Inhale / Exhale is the group's fifth studio album and first since 2021's scintillating Surrender. ATLiens are reflecting on their invasion of Earth after announcing their debut album, Leaving The World Behind. Late last month, the masked bass music duo revealed in cryptic fashion that their debut album was complete, sharing only an acronym: LTWB. They've now formally announced the LP via a haunting trailer where a soundbite about exploring the unknown pairs with footage of travels through nature and bustling cities. Participate in the scene Being an active, familiar presence on the festival scene is one of the most important things any professional or aspiring professional DJ can do. Festival crews like to work with people they trust, so it can be hard for outsiders to land good gigs for a big party. Play the long game by attending as many festivals as possible, supporting friends’ and peers’ shows, and establishing yourself as an active participant in the music festival community. The more industry people you connect with, the better the chances of securing a slot on the stage. Target the right festivals If you want to land a good gig, you need to put yourself out there. But that doesn’t mean you should just approach any and every festival you hear about. Researching and targeting festivals that focus on the music genres and atmosphere you resonate with is crucial for getting positive responses from them. Run your own stage Sometimes, it is better to create an opportunity for yourself rather than wait for one to come along on its own. Plus, when you run your own stage, you have a lot more control over the atmosphere and environment of your DJ set-up, allowing you to present yourself in a way that feels authentic to your style. What is it about playing center in the NBA that turns you into a DJ? By now, many of us are familiar with the electronic music career of Hall of Fame NBA center Shaquille O'Neal, fans of whom affectionately call DJ Diesel. Now enter 7' 4" Houston Rockets star Boban Marjanović, who stands tied with two others as the NBA's tallest player. After releasing a techno track, "I Just Wanna," this summer, Marjanović recently performed a supersized DJ set during this year's "Rave The Planet" parade. A massive celebration of techno culture, the event doubles as a spiritual successor to Berlin's iconic Love Parade. Videos shared by Marjanović and fans on social media show him hunched over DJ decks that barely reach his waist. The towering basketball star, who appeared as a villain in John Wick 3 back in 2019, was joined onstage by his Serbian compatriot Lanna as well as German DJ Human Rias. The trio would go on to perform a selection of high-energy techno tracks while hyping up the enthusiastic—and confused—crowd. This year's parade also featured Farrago, Catz 'N Dogz, Denise Schneider, Tube & Berger and EDM.com Class of 2023 star AMÉMÉ, among many others. A hot summer night in Los Angeles turned into a bad one for thousands of concert-goers when the Hollywood Bowl had to stop its Sunday roster because of a big power outage. The concert, with Vance Joy, Grouplove, and Tiny Habits, was part of the KCRW Festival and had been looked forward to by many. When the power went out, the famous outdoor venue was dark. It’s not clear what caused the outage, but the reports state that Southern California Edison, the electric company in charge of the area, was dealing with more than 60 different power outages. The power outage affected more than 6,000 customers in an area that covers five counties. The Los Angeles Department of Water and Power said that around 6,600 customers didn’t have power. The Bowl released a short statement notifying of the incident. “Due to a power outage at the Hollywood Bowl, tonight’s concert is canceled”, it reads. “If a new date for this performance can be confirmed, details will follow and tickets for the original date will be valid for the new performance date. Local businesses, including half of Del Amo Mall, also had to close for a while. Residents and visitors had trouble getting cash from ATMs. The LADWP said that the power outages were mostly because of the hot weather, explaining that electrical equipment can get too hot and break when it can’t cool down at night. The outages hit neighborhoods such as Exposition Park, Highland Park, and Silver Lake the hardest. The cancellation of the Hollywood Bowl concert was a big disappointment for fans who had been excited about the event. There’s no news yet on whether the show will be rescheduled, but the incident shows the challenges caused by extreme weather and the importance of having reliable infrastructure for essential services. ADE Lab drops the first big batch of speakers for its fully stacked four-day programme this October. The first highlights include industry heavyweights like Narciss, the duo Indira Paganotto & Joseph Capriati, DJ MELL G, MARRØN, Freddy K, and many more. The entry-level conference from 16 October – 19 October aims to kickstart the career of future superstars and experts, while ADE Pro welcomes arrived professionals. International artists like DJ MELL G join the conference aimed at young, aspiring music industry talents, sharing their knowledge and networking with them. ‘Staying Grounded as a Touring DJ with DJ MELL G’ is one of the first highlights of ADE Lab, where the German artist will touch upon mental health in the electronic nightlife scene. The sense of community will be one of the themes at ADE Lab, where young artists and industry professionals can learn from their idols.
