B JONES TALKS ABOUT WHAT IT’S LIKE TO PLAY TOMORROWLAND MAINSTAGE, HOW SHE PREPARES FOR SETS, & MORE
We sat down with B Jones backstage after her set on the Mainstage at Tomorrowland during Weekend Two. During this interview we chat about what it was like to receive so much support before and during her set, the road to Tomorrowland Brazil, and lastly a special message to her fans. So yesterday you played the mainstage at Tomorrowland, not only the mainstage, but you had hundreds I don’t know how many hundreds of Spanish fans flags and a meet up before your set. What did it feel like to play for that crowd? The support of my country, it’s the biggest gift I can have in the whole world. I worked really hard on the set at Tomorrowland and for the last thirty years in my career and I feel that my country supports me and you could feel that during my set. We were there and it was it was crazy, it was amazing. Such good energy. What do you think makes Tomorrowland a special festival? What sets it apart from all the other festivals you’ve been to or played at in the world? Tomorrowland is not a normal festival, you can feel the energy when you’re inside the festival it’s everything is complete perfectly, the stage, the artists, the mainstage is crazy, but it’s also the people that come here every year, it’s the Tomorrowland family. You feel amazing. Next up you have Tomorrowland Brazil. Can you tell us a little bit about that and what are you preparing for your set? Are you expecting so many Spanish people to come as well? Because that is kind of far. It is really far, but really Brazilian people have the same passion. I feel completely at home in Brazil. There might not be that many Spanish people there but there will be people from Brazil, Argentina, a lot of people, and a great crowd. I didn’t start yet to prepare my set because I will start Monday when I arrive in Brazil. How much time goes into preparing for these sets? It’s not like I will go to the studio but you know, for me Tomorrowland is like one dream. All of Tomorrowland is a dream, Tomorrowland Brazil, Tomorrowland Winter, I love listening to the music, checking my set times, I dedicate some days to decide my outfit. When I arrive on the Monday, I’ll start to think about how my experience at Tomorrowland will be, what I can give differently because I love to be different every time. I want to always improve, always do better. I will listen to Brazilian music as well. Last year, I saw your set at Crystal Garden weekend one, but this year I got to see you on the Main Stage for weekend two. Where you prefer to play? Do you prefer the smaller stages or the big Mainstage? The Mainstage, I love it. The view from the DJ booth where you see all the people, its amazing. But any stage at Tomorrowland, I would love to play at. Final question. You have so many fans, do you have a message want to shout out to the fans all over the world? Thank you so much for supporting me and for understanding my vision of my Mainstage set. I always try to do something with big personality. Thank you for supporting me and I hope you join me at any club or any festival in the world and we can enjoy it together.

The 10 most played songs of Tomorrowland 2024
Tomorrowland 2024 is over. We can easily say that it has been one if not the best edition yet. We have covered the whole weekend 2 on Instagram so, you may have a look at our behind the scene. More contents are scheduled to come out here and on our social media but, in the meantime let’s analyze what happened in these two weeks. First of all, Tomorrowland has released the majority of the sets (yes, we know, some of them are still missing) on YouTube and Apple Music. If you have missed a performance during the weekend or want to rewatch, you now know where to go. A lot of new artists and old friends played this year Tomorrowland. We can’t surely not mention the return of the Swedish House Mafia, 12 years after their last show. Afterlife has brought its famous party at the Freedom stage during both weekends. Anyma debuted on the main stage as well. Keinemusik also debuted at Tomorrowland 2024. They packed the Crystal Garden during weekend 1 and delivered one of my favorite sets during weekend 2, on the main stage. They played the sunset slow and the weather didn’t disappoint with the sun going down and the orange color lighting up the festival ground. So, what? What are the 10 most played songs of Tomorrowland 2024? On weekend 1 KAAZE’s single ‘Papi’ featuring Alina Pozi reached the highest spot on the chart. Surely not a surprise the three following songs with Argy & Omnya ‘Aria’, Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello ‘Reload’ and Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin ‘Don’t You Worry Child’. KAAZE ft. Alina Pozi – Papi Argy & Omnya – Aria Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello – Reload Swedish House Mafia ft. Dido – Thank You (Not So Bad) DJ Tomcraft – Loneliness On weekend 2, things were mixed with Adam Port, Keinemusik, Stryv, Malachiii ‘Move’ claiming the first position. A lot of remixes, besides the original mix, have bene played including the Anyma & Cassian Remix and the Victor Garde Remix. Sebastian Ingrosso & Steve Angello ‘Reload’ and Swedish House Mafia ft. John Martin ‘Don’t You Worry Child’ both climbed a spot positioning as the second and third most played songs. The new entry on weekend 2 is RÜFÜS DU SOL ‘Innerbloom’ in the PACS Remix. BeenWell bring organic touches to deep house on ‘real real love’
Austin-based electronic duo BeenWell have emerged as a refreshing force in the EDM scene with their latest single “real real love.” The track, a seamless blend of Deep House, House, and Lofi House, showcases the duo’s ability to craft atmospheric soundscapes that are both hypnotic and accessible. Ben Payton and William Duvall, the masterminds behind BeenWell, have been collaborating since their serendipitous meeting in a barbershop back in 2020. Their journey from experimental beat-makers to boundary-pushing EDM artists is evident in the polished production of “real real love.” What sets the single apart is its unique creation process. Leaving the traditional studio environment, BeenWell opted for an outdoor recording session at Austin’s Camp East garden. This unconventional approach infuses the track with an organic freshness that’s palpable in every beat. The result is a chill dance track that effortlessly marries hypnotic rhythms with catchy vocals, creating a sonic experience that’s both grounding and elevating. Perhaps most impressive is the efficiency with which BeenWell brought “real real love” to life. The entire process of creation, mixing, and mastering was completed in a matter of hours, a testament to the duo’s synergy and creative flow. This rapid turnaround, however, doesn’t compromise the quality of the final product. “real real love” is a track that not only showcases their technical prowess but also their willingness to experiment with genres in the process. TATE SEDAR & Liv Kennedy collab on dance pop single ‘Our Goodbye’
“Our Goodbye” by radio artist TATE SEDAR and emerging singer-songwriter Liv Kennedy takes the classic breakup song and flips it on its head, delivering a fresh, upbeat, and summer-ready anthem. The track stands as a testament to their enduring friendship, combining Kennedy’s signature lyricism with SEDAR’s distinctive post-EDM production—a blend of analog and digital sounds that defies the conventions of both love songs and the modern electronic-pop landscape. The duo’s collaboration traces back to their college days at Syracuse University, where they shared mutual friends but only discovered their musical chemistry after graduation. SEDAR only recognized Kennedy’s unique vocal talent when she began singing again during their senior year. The two reconnected in Los Angeles, where Kennedy returned after honing her songwriting skills in Nashville, and built the track around real-life romantic experiences that unfolded while they were apart. Despite the track’s origins in their post-college friendship, it reflects the broader dynamics of relationships and breakups. Kennedy’s introspective topline captures the essence of a breakup’s most challenging aspect: saying goodbye. Her evocative lyrics paint a picture of longing and the relatable complexities of modern dating. Meanwhile, SEDAR channels the cathartic realization of moving on from a failed romance with energetic, major-key drops. Inspired by the likes of Ke$ha, Taio Cruz, and Katy Perry, alongside the “golden age” of EDM (2010-2016), SEDAR pushes the boundaries of electronic and pop music by seamlessly integrating acoustic and digital elements. The track underwent a significant transformation from its initial somber, minor-key composition. SEDAR spent three years refining the instrumental to align with the song’s narrative rather than forcing the lyrics to fit a preconceived sound. This period of growth allowed SEDAR to solidify his post-EDM signature, showcased through the song’s hybrid soundscapes and thematic depth. As SEDAR reflects, “I feel like it was a track I was always supposed to make; it was meant to be.” The post TATE SEDAR & Liv Kennedy collab on dance pop single ‘Our Goodbye’ appeared first on Dancing Astronaut.

Spotify Makes Lyrics Free Again For Ad-Supported Accounts
In May 2024, Spotify unveiled a rule change where free, ad-supported account users can only look up track lyrics for three times per month. It can be a very frustrating experience for music fans and may present a difficult task when it comes to choosing which songs wisely in regard to viewing lyrics. A couple months later, Spotify has reversed that route and the brand is now making lyrics free again for those accounts. Spotify now offers a preview of the lyrics and when tapping into the preview, it displays a banner ad with the option to dismiss. Afterwards, the account users can then see the lyrics scroll in real-time. Additionally, according to an article from Digital Music News, every lyric request from Spotify now appears with an advertising banner before displaying the real-time lyrics. For the Spotify ad-supported (free) account users, having the lyrics be free not only saves money but also allows more fans to experience the true emotions and feelings that come out from the tracks that they enjoy listening to. Additionally, the reversion also benefit music streaming giant since showing the ads still bring in revenue for them. The reversion comes a month after Spotify hiked premium subscription plans for the second time in a year when it increased from $10.99 to $11.99 per month. Martin Garrix’s Top 5 Unreleased Tracks
At Tomorrowland Hardwell took everyone on a journey back in time with his incredible throwback set featuring some of his classic tunes but one song caught everyone’s attention. To everyone’s surprise he played ‘Music Box’, his unreleased collaboration with Martin Garrix. This song is one of many great songs that Martin Garrix made that would unfortunately never get an official release so let’s have a look back at 5 of his best tracks that never got released. Rewind Repeat It (ft. Ed Sheeran) – Martin Garrix It’s shocking to think that a collaboration between these two powerhouses in music didn’t get to be released and has since been lost to time. The collab came along following Ed Sheeran hearing ‘Animals’ after it hit the charts in the UK. In the 2015 documentary ‘What We Started’, he would describe Garrix’s music as “weird” but in a good way and said was impressed by the Dutch DJs talents. This led to the idea for a collab which would come to life with the two getting together in the studio to create ‘Rewind Repeat It.’ The track would get its debut in 2015 at Ultra Music Festival sparking buzz and anticipation from the fans waiting for its release. Despite the star power behind the track and the adoration towards it from the fans, the track would never be released due to label issues following Garrix leaving Spinnin Records. Blue Flames – Martin Garrix, David Guetta Another monumental collaboration between two titans of the industry, ‘Blue Flames’ had the potential to be a massive hit with the talent behind it. The track was debuted by both Garrix and Guetta in 2015 at Ultra Music Festival with its sound being compared to that of Swedish House Mafia’s ‘Greyhound’, but unfortunately ‘Blue Flames’ would flame out and never see the light of day again. The reasoning behind its disappearance is unknown though people have come up with their own theories. Maybe the track just wasn’t strong enough, maybe it was too similar to ‘Greyhound’, or maybe Garrix and Guetta just fell out of love with the project. Thankfully they would collaborate again in the studio making some amazing tracks with “So Far Away” and “Like I Do.” Lockdown – Martin Garrix It would seem 2015 was an ill-fated year for a lot of Martin Garrix IDs as ‘Lockdown’ was another song that was debuted that year but would go no further. First being played at Sunburn Festival, ‘Lockdown’ captured the crowd with yet another one of Martin Garrix’s infectious melodies and some beautiful sound design. Although this is one of the Dutch DJs more forgotten about unreleased tracks due to it only playing out live once, it’s a song that had a lot of potential and it’s a shame that it was another track claimed by Garrix’s split with Spinnin Records. Although it didn’t get to hit streaming services, it did act as a foundation for his gradually building talents within progressive house which he is now a master in. Music Box – Martin Garrix, Hardwell This Big Room banger was unfortunately lost to Garrix’s split from Spinnin Records as well, but it gave everyone a taste of what Hardwell and Martin Garrix were capable of together. ‘Music Box’ would first appear at Tomorrowland in 2014 and would certainly make a bang with its thunderous kick and addictive melody captivating the crowd. It was an amazing meshing of styles between the two legendary DJs that promised so much but sadly wouldn’t be released. Despite this Hardwell and Garrix have remained good friends since and have both said that there’s always a possibility that they’ll get together in the studio again. Someone You Loved – Lewis Capaldi (Martin Garrix Remix) There’s no doubt that since Martin Garrix first played this track back in 2019 that it has become a fan favourite and is one of the highlights of his live sets with the energy going through the roof the moment it starts. It’s a masterful piece of progressive house that transforms the original song from a very sad and solemn tone to a truly ecstatic and joyful song that gets everyone jumping. Despite this, 5 years on from its debut it still hasn’t got an official release and it’s likely that it wont due to having to get the rights from Lewis Capaldi and his record company. As sad as it is for this song not to be available to blast through your speakers all the time, it is at least a track that Garrix still plays live so it’s not yet been forgotten.

Live Nation Pushes For Venue Change In DOJ Lawsuit
Live Nation is being sued by the U.S. Department of Justice over antitrust allegations, with the DOJ claiming that the company’s merger with Ticketmaster created a monopoly that stifles competition. Now, Live Nation is pushing to move the lawsuit from New York to Washington DC. The company argues that the DC federal court should hear the case because this court handled matters related to the 2010 consent decree, which allowed the Live Nation and Ticketmaster merger. Represented by Latham & Watkins and Cravath Swaine & Moore, Live Nation and Ticketmaster insist that the DOJ’s allegations are tied to the consent decree’s effectiveness. The company denies claims of creating an illegal monopoly, calling the lawsuit baseless. They’re also trying to get parts of the case dismissed entirely. They argue that the DOJ and 16 states agreed to specific terms allowing the merger and shouldn’t be allowed to challenge it in a different venue now. The Trial Is Set For March 2, 2026 Live Nation wants access to all discovery files for key corporate officers, including antitrust expert Dan Wall and Kimberly Tobias, Live Nation’s SVP of Litigation. The DOJ, however, has concerns about confidentiality. Despite this, Live Nation insists its in-house legal team should have full access to all case details. The DOJ counters that Live Nation’s proposed restrictions are too lenient. Judge Arun Subramanian has proposed a two-tiered access system for documents to address these concerns. Judge Subramanian’s ruling aims to balance access while protecting confidential information about competitors. The deadline for both parties to finalize the specifics was set for July 25. If they can’t agree, the court will resolve the disputes based on their arguments. This lawsuit adds to ongoing scrutiny of Live Nation’s market dominance, especially after the Taylor Swift ticket sales controversy. Such high-profile incidents have brought more attention to Live Nation’s practices. Live Nation’s request to move the case is a strategic decision, believing the DC court is better suited to handle these issues. The outcome of this legal maneuver could significantly impact the case and it remains to be seen how the court will respond to this request. Lightning In A Bottle Hit With Fever Outbreak And Deadly Fungus
Lightning In A Bottle has quickly become one of the best festivals in the U.S. What started as a boutique festival has grown to have more than 20,000 people attend. Many compare it to Shambhala with its laidback forest vibes and fantastic music selection. Unfortunately, this year’s edition which occurred back in May exposed its attendees to a life-threatening fungus. The California Department of Public Health (CDPH) said it is investigating a cluster of Valley Fever cases identified among attendees of the music festival Lightning in a Bottle in Buena Vista Lake. Five have been diagnosed with Valley Fever. Three of the infected have been hospitalized. The department stated: “Overall, cases of Valley fever in California have increased substantially over the last two years, so CDPH is asking attendees of this festival to complete a voluntary survey, even if they don’t have any symptoms.” It is caused by the fungus Coccidioides, which releases spores into the air when soil is disturbed and then are inhaled by people. There is no person-to-person transmission. One user took to Reddit to describe his symptoms. He was hospitalized with a severe lung infection and experienced fevers, aches, and a cough. It also caused a cavity (a hole) to form inside his right lung. Most people with the mild form of Valley Fever will not realize they have the illness because of its symptoms — fatigue, cough, fever, aching muscles, and breathlessness. It mimics a respiratory virus infection. If it infects the membranes and fluid around the brain it can cause life-threatening meningitis. There is no proven treatment for Valley Fever and patients are usually prescribed rest and given therapies to manage symptoms. It remains unclear if Lightning In A Bottle will relocate if the problem becomes worse in the future. California Department of Public Health Links Valley Fever Cases to 2024 Lightning in a Bottle Festival
After five people were diagnosed with Valley fever following the 2024 Lightning in a Bottle festival, the California Department of Public Health (CDPH) has encouraged attendees to seek medical attention if they too are experiencing symptoms. Valley fever is a fungal infection typically caused by inhaling spores that are kicked up to the surface from the soil. The infection can cause respiratory symptoms like fever, cough, fatigue, shortness of breath, and more. Three of the five attendees diagnosed following Lightning in a Bottle, which took place May 22-27, were hospitalized, KTLA reported. In a statement, the festival's organizers said the CDPH had warned them of a potential "large increase in 2024 cases [of Valley fever] due to wet weather" and they're working with the state department to develop preemptive measures against it. "We prioritize the health and safety of all our patrons and are in communication with the California Department of Public Health and Kern County Public Health Department to learn more about Valley fever," the statement reads, "and any preventative measures we can take to reduce Valley fever risk for future festival events, and to make information available to this year’s attendees." It's also worth noting that Valley fever is not contagious, per the CDPH, so attendees do not have to worry about spreading the infection should they experience symptoms. The organization has launched an online survey to gather more information.

Mochakk + CircoLoco Records = Locomotiva Ibiza 2099
After his well-reviewed first single “Jealous” in 2023, Mochakk comes back to CircoLoco Records. This time he presents a lively 6-track dual EP called “Locomotiva Ibiza 2099.” The first part of the collection, called “Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 I,” came out on July 26th. It has a title track that is surprisingly slow and features VTSS. The Polish artist, who is known for her hard techno sound, gives us a nice change of pace with twinkling synths and a speed just above 125 bpm on her first collaboration with Mochakk. Mochakk’s single track on the EP, “The Line,” comes next. It has a slow house beat with blazing snares and an irresistible synth line. This is one of Mochakk’s first releases with his own vocals, which could be the start of a new creative phase. The dominant vocal hook flows into the beat so smoothly that it guides the listener’s movements. “Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 (Dub Mix)” is the last track on the EP. It’s a stripped-down but powerful version of the original. The second chapter of Locomotive Ibiza 2099 will be released this September The second EP, “Locomotiva Ibiza 2099 II,” with three strong tracks, is set to come out on September 6th. The first song is called “No Boys Allowed,” and it features Canadian rapper Tommy Genesis. She has worked with JPEGMAFIA and Charli XCX before. Her soft voice blends hypnotically with Mochakk’s production, going well with the low-slung bassline, chugging kick drums, and drifting synth melody. The next song is “Estribeira,” which features Artisian, a fellow Brazilian singer and good friend. This simple track is built more directly for the dancefloor. It includes voice and siren samples, heavy kick drums, and a punchy baseline. It’s a simple DJ tool that has been used a lot in Mochakk’s sets and is now being shown to everyone. “No Boys Allowed (Street Mix)” is the last track on the EP. It has a darker vibe than the previous track, which is more upbeat. Tommy Genesis’ words are added to this slower mix. The “Street Mix” has a bit more bass and features very sharp snare drums and hi-hats, which are a tribute to Mochakk’s deep love of bass. Listen to Paradox: Tantok’s Collab With Lucky Choice
Tantok’s 39th release, “Paradox,” a collaboration with Ukrainian producer Lucky Choice. The dry beats start off somewhat muffled, and a layer of groove is added to the experience. The track progressively ascends, and just after a minute, its atmosphere fully reveals itself, transitioning into the second half with an epic vocal that kicks off a club-ready, immersive vibe that follows. “Paradox” is a testament to the seamless collaboration driven by their mutual admiration for Miss Monique and her ability to enchant listeners with smooth melodic techno. Lucky Choice initiated the instrumental, which underwent a collaborative process of back-and-forth refinements with Tantok, culminating in a polished mix/master by Head Studios. It’s the second official collaboration between Lucky Choice & Tantok. Lucky Choice lives in Ukraine, and Tantok lives in Denver. The two producers met through their mutual label, Digital Empire Records in 2020, and connected as producers and friends through the power of the internet. Tantok’s live performances are as compelling as his recorded tracks. His recent appearance alongside Mat Zo at The Church in Denver showcased his skill in captivating live audiences, further solidifying his reputation in the electronic music scene. Notable past performances include his show with Golden Features at Club Vinyl, and international gigs at the Amsterdam Dance Event and the International Music Summit in Ibiza. Tantok’s discography is diverse, with notable tracks like “Berlin” on Jendex Records, and Help Me Feel” on Blanco Y Nero Music. His ability to infuse his music with his background as a bassist and his appreciation for Latin culture sets him apart in the electronic music landscape. His upcoming Spanish track, “Quiero Bailar,” promises to add another dimension to his portfolio, blending Latin tech house with mariachi trumpet elements. With “Paradox” already making waves, Tantok’s next release, “Quiero Bailar,” is set to drop on August 16th under Enormous Tunes’ sub-label No Definition. This track, featuring seductive vocals by Alejandra Guerra, promises to be a Latin tech house sensation, further showcasing Tantok’s versatility and innovative spirit below that helmet. Released under the Barcelona-based label Clippers Sounds, “Paradox” is available on all digital platforms and for DJs on Beatport.
