  7. July saw the launch of the Leap 96 project by ALRT and Sam Silver as they unveiled ‘Back It Up’, a single which set very high first impressions and laid down the foundation for what is to come for this duo. Now, just 1 month later they are proving that the first hit was not a fluke as they present us with ‘Again’ alongside Whiterosemoxie and Yona. The single marks the 2nd release from the self titled ‘Leap 96’ EP which is due out on October 18th via LA-based imprint TH3RD BRAIN Records. Driven by an energetic liquid drum and bass production, ‘Again’ showcases the intertwined talents of two outstanding singers, Yona and Whiterosemoxie. Their contrasting tones, both male and female, build a unique energy and tension from the start, capturing the dynamics and complexities that play out in a relationship. The lyrics are fraught with emotion, delivered alongside ethereal melodies that culminate in a sizzling DnB drop. ‘Again’ takes the listener along with Leap 96 on a modern sonic journey that truly transcends genres. Yona, the 18-year-old bilingual French-American singer-songwriter, brings a unique blend of pop with a hint of grunge, grime, guitars, and deep lyrics to the track. Her highly distinctive and intensely emotional voice brings a unique flair that perfectly complements the production. The American rapper Whiterosemoxie shares a deeply personal connection with the song, stating, “When we recorded ‘Again’, I had just recently gone through a breakup, and constantly saw it rubbed in my face on social media. At the top of the year, I had found new love and wrote this song to express my cautionary attitude towards my new relationship. We were at the point where we could decide to be more than friends or hit the brakes. Knowing we both want more out of life than what we have now, it is very hard to imagine a successful relationship that also allows for us to achieve what we want. When we do this thing we both know we shouldn’t do, will you blame it all on me?” Leap 96 is a collaborative project between Sam Silver and ALRT, drawing inspiration from the late 90s and early 2000s when Garage and Drum and Bass first began to appear on the rave scene. The music blends vocal-driven dance music for both uptempo and downtempo settings. The name Leap 96 was chosen to signify the middle year between Sam and ALRT’s birthdays, which was also a leap year. The project’s sonic direction reflects their backgrounds, with ALRT coming from a prosperous old-school rave scene and Sam from the new-age garage, rap, and ethereal house scene. Their combined influences create a unique sound that blends garage, rap, dnb, and vocals with an indie pop sensibility. Sam Silver and ALRT met at a studio in Hollywood, California, where ALRT co-founded with well-known artist/producer JOYRYDE. What started as a casual co-writing session turned into two months of co-production, yielding the four songs on the EP as well as many other works in progress. Don’t skip the single and make sure to stay tuned for the full ‘Leap 96’ EP coming on October 18th! The post ALRT, Sam Silver & Whiterosemoxie Team Up To Bring Us ‘Again’ ft. 10. Music City came alive with bass and house music during the 2024 Deep Tropics festival, but beyond those thumping beats, a vibrant community gathered in the name of environmentalism. One of the festival's founders, Joel Atchison, called the festival "a bridge between party and purpose" during an interview with EDM.com last month. That sentiment certainly rang true throughout the weekend as conscious activations and workshops complimented full-throttle artist throwdowns across multiple stages. A few of musical highlights included Kaskade's mesmerizing "Redux" set and a heavy-hitting performance by RL Grime. Cassian, Nora En Pure and Taiki Nulight also left crowds speechless. Perhaps the weekend's most energizing set was from Tape B, who relentlessly dropped banger after banger. On Saturday night, headlining sets were cut short by an intense rainstorm. But that didn't stop PEEKABOO from giving Nashville a proper dose of bass music. He popped up at the Cannery Hall afters to play b2b with Tape B to make up for the lost time. Packed from front to back, the venue was shaking as fans raged. "I'm still buzzing from the energy we created," said Deep Tropics co-founder Blake Atchison. "We doubled our past attendance, while maintaining an intimate feel and a great fan experience. I’m so proud of our team, the park, the artists and this incredible community. The standout for me was seeing all the smiles." Kaskade performing at Deep Tropics 2024.Keith Griner Some of the most exciting moments from Deep Tropics shifted the focus from music to environmentalism, highlighting regenerative solutions and community wellness. From conversations about eco-conscious consumption and cultivating intentional community, to drum circles, yoga and meditation, Deep Tropics offered an array of impactful experiences to connect people with their community and with their planet. "2024 was a breakout year for Deep Tropics, filled with many firsts," said Joel, whose personal highlights from the event included flash mobs of local dancers, ice bath activations, sound baths and more. "Thursday’s sustainability summit exceeded all expectations, aiming to inspire the Nashville community beyond our core festival audience. Beyond three stages of music, we embraced our pillars of education, wellness, art, style and sustainability, offering new discoveries around every corner." "We had an amazing turnout for the Deep Culture speakeasy with unforgettable speakers and facilitators," Joel continues. "Seeing everyone shoulder to shoulder during the sunset breathwork journey on Saturday left me in awe. This was a true celebration of the diversity and creative talent of our region. Each year, it becomes even clearer that Deep Tropics is a bridge to unite and cultivate community." According to Deep Tropics, which is considered "the greenest festival in North America," the festival's team diverts a jaw-dropping 96% of festival waste from landfills. Plus, they're able to offset their carbon footprint with tree-planting initiatives. Relive the festival's magic via the Deep Tropics 2024 gallery below. 11. After teasing the track for nearly two years, Swedish House Mafia have "Finally" released their hotly anticipated collaboration with Alicia Keys. Axwell, Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso are no strangers to high-profile collaborations, working with Pharrell, A$AP Rocky, the Weeknd, Sting, Future and more since debuting back in 2009. Now they've shared "Finally," a reimagined version of Kings of Tomorrow's Defected classic of the same name, alongside the R&B great Keys. Her vocal talents are front and center, but the iconic Swedish trio take the spotlight and amplify it with dramatic keys that build to an anthemic breakdown rich with radiant synths and pounding drums. Their production beautifully accompanies Keys' lyricism, achingly pondering the time spent waiting for a loved one before the track's energetic climax, which reflects the electric moment of reuniting. The new single arrives after another long-awaited track in the Swedish House Mafia lore, "Lioness," which released back in June. Listen to "Finally" below and find it on streaming platforms here. 12. High BPMs have made their way from being a niche to conquering the big stages at a meteoric speed. Two leading names in this scene make their way to the ADE Pro Conference to dive deep into the fast-paced BPM scene this October. Learn from both Sara Landry and Indira Paganotto, who each host a talk at the Conference accompanied by the most prominent industry experts. Hard Techno: Music & Lifestyle with Sara Landry Hard techno is taking the global music and event industry by storm. It has evolved into a cultural movement that includes fashion and several lifestyle trends. Fuelled by a young and highly engaged community, this sub-culture is here to stay. During this conversation with experts on ADE Wednesday, they explore the origin and impact of hard techno from both an artist and event angle in a fireside chat. Sara Landry, a self-taught producer, audio engineer, and DJ known for her dark, driving, and divinely feminine brand of industrial techno, speaks with with Michelle Verhoef, the General Manager of Verknipt, the world’s biggest hard techno organisation. As well as being an electronic music industry maverick, she’s also paving the way for the hard-techno movement – pushing what has long been considered subversive into popular culture – and women in music on a global scale. From Niche to Next Level with Indira Paganotto What does it take to get from a niche to the next level? This conversation will explore this topic from multiple angles, and all participants have hands-on experience in taking a niche to the next level. Let’s start with the artist’s perspective. What was Indira Paganotto’s massive road to success? How did she find her identity as an artist? What are some of the core strengths that allowed her to grow? And at what point in her career did she realise she had all the ingredients needed to become one of the biggest acts in the scene by staying authentic? During this panel on ADE Thursday, she takes the audience on a journey through these questions with her. Ilja Reiman is the originator of the ‘Gabber’ movement and joins her on stage. The movement became massively popular quickly, much like hard techno nowadays. The scene has since greatly impacted music and culture in general; Gabber even made it to the Eurovision Song Contest earlier this year. Last but not least is Reza Fathi, founder of Verknipt, who has an entirely different story. During COVID, they reinvented the identity of the Verknipt concept and went all-in on hard techno, which has landed them the biggest hard techno show in the world recently in the Amsterdam ArenA. Back then, rebranding to hard techno was a massive gamble since the genre was still considered a niche. Now, it’s gone to the next level. You can learn from these industry experts and many more during the five days of the ADE Pro Conference. https://www.amsterdam-dance-event.nl/en/ade-pro/ The post Learn All About Harder Styles At ADE Pro With Sara Landry & Indira Paganotto appeared first on Electic Mode.

Celebrated for his ability to merge vibrant rhythms with intricate melodies, Alex has honed his sound to become danceable as much as deeply impactful. Alex is a producer who feels the music industry, although galloping at a fuller swing than ever before, is starting to lose its soul and essence. “Music today often feels like it’s missing something essential — genuine emotion“, he says. “With this release, I wanted to bring that feeling back”, he adds, emphasizing ‘Hoping For More’ is an effort to restore that communication in the Dance sphere. ‘Hoping For More’ Jordan’s new track ‘Hoping For More‘, combines dynamic beats with melodic influences, creating a compelling blend that captures the deep emotional resonance Alex feels has been missing. 24. For his fifth album ‘Nothing But The Beat,’ David Guetta has collaborated with some big names in the music industry such as Snoop Dogg, Afrojack and Sia, but ‘Sunshine‘ features a back then rising Swedish legend, Avicii. For the first time together in the studio, the two DJs have produced an impressive track, but which remained one of the less listened records included on Guetta’s album. Although the single has hit 61 million streams now, it is still a pretty small record considering many of the songs on the album have over at least 100 million streams. Avicii released his first hit ‘Levels‘ in October 2011, 2 months after ‘Sunshine‘ with David Guetta dropped. It became probably the most known EDM song and the biggest emblem of dance music. After their first collaboration together, Guetta and Bergling have met in the studio a few other times, the most specific one being for the production of ‘Lovers On The Sun,’ a track released under David Guetta’s name but co-produced with Avicii. ‘Sunshine‘ was premiered by Avicii at Tomorrowland 2011 and during his 2012 Tomorrowland set the Swedish DJ played a legendary mashup between his song with David Guetta and ‘Spectrum‘ by Florence + The Machine. In 2019, 1 year later after the shocking passing of Tim Bergling, David played ‘Sunshine‘ for the last time at Avicii’s Tribute Concert. The event took place in Stockholm and besides David Guetta, it featured other DJ performances from names like Kygo, Nicky Romero, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike and Laidback Luke as well as Live Performances by artists like Rita Ora, Aloe Blacc, Adam Lamber and many more. 25. OCULA returns to the famous This Never Happened label with a brand new single. As a matter of fact, the British DJ and producer Brad Littler – aka OCULA – has released ‘Against The Current‘, a collaboration with ATTLAS. OCULA said that ATLLAS – real name Jeff Hartford – has always been a huge inspiration to him as an artist, stemming from his early mau5trap days all the way up to now. Jeff sent a goldmine-like playlist over to him full of incredible demos, but this one stood out, OCULA said. He instantly felt a connection to what he’d already got, and knew exactly which direction he’d want to take it. “I love the energy and feel-good factor that this song has.” Canadian producer ATTLAS came to prominence in November 2014 with the heavily sought after deadmau5 ‘Aural Psynapse’ remix. It caused a tidal wave of speculation that ATTLAS was in fact a side project of the mau5 himself. That speculation ended when he was officially ‘outed’ by Pete Tong , announcing ATTLAS is Jeff Hartford, Canadian producer, dj and classically trained musician. An incredible depth of influences from travelling, alongside music, film and art worlds have had a decided effect on his musical outpourings, which were all jazz, classical and guitars until trips to Amsterdam, Berlin and attending the homecoming ‘Meowington Hax’ 2k11 tour. You can listen to OCULA and ATTLAS’ new collaboration ‘Against The Current’ below and on all available streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more news!
