  1. The Global DNB Collective’s newest single, “Stuck in My Head,” is a riveting collaboration featuring three veteran producers from Charlotte, North Carolina. This track explores the consuming nature of obsession through its electrifying beats and unforgettable hook. The accompanying music video reinforces this theme with a dramatic narrative of a man who becomes a cyborg in his quest to overcome his fixation. Boasting an undeniably powerful energy and compelling story, “Stuck in My Head” offers an immersive audio-visual experience that’s not to be missed. GETTING TO KNOW ELECTRON-C, DARK ADAPTATION, & NOISESMITH Introduce yourself and your project We are Andrew, Tristan and Dan, aka Electron-C, Dark Adaptation, and Noisesmith (respectively). We are drum & bass producers & DJs hailing from Charlotte, NC. Explain what musical genre fits you best EC – Jungle/Drum & Bass and all the flavors of subgenres that fall within that. Mostly darker stuff. DA – Jump up, Rollers and Dancefloor NS – Melodic tearout meets dark neuro meets hard dancefloor with a pinch of jungle. Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you? EC – I was dancing to music as soon as I was able to stand on 2 feet. I had a Casio keyboard at 9 years old, and would play Depeche Mode melodies by ear. It just spiraled from there. DA – I wasn’t raised around a lot of music besides metal and country, then deathcore, punk, a lot of hip-hop, R&B and trap music into my teen years. Then in my mid twenties I found reggae. Someone who inspired me within music has always been a variety of people like $uicideboy$, John Paul White of The Civil Wars, and Tom Barber of Chelsea Grin. NS – Oh god yes. My mom was Cuban and music was an integral part of our household. Through my love of underground hip hop, I discovered DNB in high school and have been in love ever since. What kickstarted your music career? EC – I’ve been recording music since the 90s, but when the pandemic hit, I took the extra time to focus on producing and releasing professional grade drum & bass. DA – My music career started when I received my first guitar at 13 (2005) and I’ve spent the last 19 years since then chasing the music. NS – I started writing in 2004 as part of the group titanZERO. After an extended hiatus, I started my solo project Noisesmith in 2022. Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time EC – In the early 90s it was industrial, in the late 90s it was big beat and jungle. For the last 20 years, I’ve refined the focus to modern jungle influenced rollers and dancefloor drum & bass. DA – My sound is still undefined, but if I had to I would say that its a blend of beautiful melodics and vocals combined with heavy baselines, tight footwork, and a trap aspect. NS – Early on, I wanted to make the hardest DNB known to man. Now, I want to tell a story with my sound. Invoke emotions with melodies, incorporate elements of hip hop, metal, industrial, synthwave etc, all while giving a nod to the hard shit. Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers? EC – I’ve had the following on a notepad on my desktop for the better part of the last 5 years: “The way we solve problems is often more important than the difficulty of the problems we are facing. KEEP FUCKING GOING DUDE. Don’t get discouraged. Make so much noise, they HAVE to hear you. Do it again, do it louder. Make music that’s so big it is undeniable.” DA – Your snare could be better. NS – Don’t try to be the “next” anyone, be the first YOU. Input = Output. Break the rules. How do you nurture your industry relationships? EC – Be a good human being. Duality is an illusion. Treat others like they’re your best mates. Help others as much as you can. If someone is a terrible person, cut the tie and walk away. And always keep pushing forward. DA – Being genuine, helping lift others up, everyone who loves the same music you do is a friend, you should treat them that way. NS – Stay humble. Support others. Don’t be a dick. Laugh at yourself. Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey? EC – too many to list! My wife, Jade. Darren (SST) and Greg (The Lion’s Den) for the coaching and mentoring. DJ Met (RIP) for the early sounding board. Lorin (Base Industry) for believing in the vision early on. Tim (Kadilak) & Aaron (Snapback) at Rolled Up for pushing me to do it again and do it better. Jamie (Oneduz) for the dedication on this release. DA – The top is my partner Katie who introduced me to drum & bass and has helped me bloom into who I am today and Electron-C (Andy) who always pushes me to do better and so many other QC crew/family who supports. NS – My incredible wife Kimmy, my muse and everything. Jay Kronos, for joining me on this journey and being a brother. Tony Dubz, for teaching me the art of the mix and supporting me from day one. Jermel Yellow Fever, for pushing me back into this world—endless thanks. Zardonic, for believing in me and helping launch Noisesmith with some incredible tracks. And most importantly, to YOU, for sharing our love for the music. Thank you! Working with Nico really inspires me because we both love this genre – and pushing its limits –so deeply“. “’Because They Want Our Seat’ Showcases that love – we were really able to capture the hard techno movement with this one – we absolutely laid it down at 160BPM. This third part includes music from Indira Paganotto, Ann Clue, Bantwanas, Romain Garcia, Brina Knauss, Vitalic and Notre Dame. COSMOS 0.0.92 (this is the name of the third part on Spotify) is in conjunction with their highly acclaimed and sold-out festival that took place in May. And, that’s not all! In celebration of the compilation, each single (excluding those from the live-streamed performances) will be paired by a compelling video series titled MATTER. All videos are inspired by the theme of the 2024 festival, air and space. The videos will be released on the Cercle Records YouTube channel. Josef Gatti and Cercle’s Head of Video, Mathieu Glissant are the directors of the new series MATTER. But what are the tunes and the artists in this third COSMOS release? Kickstarting the third part of the series is Romain Garcia. Born in Paris with Spanish roots, he has always infused his music with diverse cultural influences. He is not new to Cercle. Her track Drowning is an indie melodic house piece characterized by a fast melody, heavy kick, and varying rhythms, blending indie and house notes with touches of techno, evoking a summery, solar atmosphere. Vitalic is a pioneering French electronic music producer and composer, renowned for his influential debut LP OK Cowboy, which achieved gold status. In 2021, he announced a tour for his fifth album “DISSIDÆNCE” while celebrating his 20-year career. His track You Are Not Alone, featuring Vimala, showcases a techno-influenced sound with melodic, dark disco, electro, and techno elements, culminating in a signature massive drop and an organic, instrumental melody. Ann Clue, a passionate German DJ and producer is next. Her single Ethereal exemplifies her powerful and energetic style, featuring cosmic themes, heavy kicks, and futuristic vocals, taking listeners on a dynamic sonic journey. 9. Toto Chiavetta, in collaboration with Ella Dvornik’s Alterella project and Enya II, presents the comprehensive Bonton / Shadow EP. Originally released a few years ago, both tracks are now being reintroduced by Siamese. The label brings both tunes into our sonic universe with renewed focus. The ToMak Revision of Alterella’s “Bonton” was reworked by Toto Chiavetta with the support of the Sead Ajaz Ensemble. He recognized the track’s dancefloor potential despite its origins in the hip-hop and trap genres. Ella Dvornik, who created the original version, also contributed to this exciting revision. The idea of transforming a hip-hop/trap track into a dancefloor-ready piece is fascinating in how different musical elements can be repurposed and recontextualized to create something entirely new while still honoring the original. “Shadow (Tape One Remix)”, a remix by Toto Chiavetta of Enya II’s wonderfully eclectic original track, has quickly become a staple in Adriatique’s recent sets, as Toto skillfully adapted the track for the dancefloor. The Chordial Remix of “Shadow”, another collaboration involving Toto with the assistance of Tarek Yamani, takes a different approach. This remix deconstructs the original with a dreamy yet infectious touch, perfect for special moments on the dancefloor. Enjoy. 10. Dom Dolla’s performance during Labor day weekend at Forest Hills In New York City was nothing short of electric. The Australian DJ and producer brought his signature blend of house and tech house to the stage, captivating the crowd with his infectious beats and energetic presence. This was the first ever stadium show that Dolla has ever performed in, and it was completely sold out. DJ Seinfield, Fcukers, and Natasha Diggs joined them on support. From the moment he stepped onto the stage, Dom Dolla had the audience dancing and singing along to his hit tracks. His setlist was a perfect mix of old and new, featuring crowd-pleasers like ‘San Frandisco,’ ‘Miracle,’ and ‘Kiss Me.’ Listening to ‘girl$’ live in particular was a highlight, with this song going viral all summer long. The energy in the venue was palpable as the crowd swayed and jumped to the music. To make the night even more special, he even created a special intro just for New York, which thousands of us in attendance loved. The visuals accompanying Dom Dolla’s performance were stunning, adding to the overall immersive experience. The lights, lasers, pyrotechnics, and projections created a mesmerizing atmosphere that complemented the music perfectly. Throughout the two hour set, Dom Dolla did not let off the gas, throwing bangers after bangers which got the crowd’s cheering and yelling in excitement at every drop. 11. The Netherlands-born producer, Beswerda lands on DGTL, the famous imprint of the same-name festival, with a hypnotic melodic techno tune Take Me. What was initially crafted in a moment of vulnerability, Beswerdas Take Me portrays raw emotion. The single highlights his frame of mind as he began its creation with a powerful and somewhat aggressive approach. Ultimately, he shifted to an uplifting atmosphere as his spirits rose throughout the track’s road to completion. Leaving little to the imagination, Beswerda eloquently translates a wide range of emotions into his music, giving his listeners a window into his most vulnerable moments. Koen Beswerda also known by the name Beswerda is a DJ and producer from The Netherlands. Bewerda has been producing melodic techno for several years now. He has released on several high-caliber techno labels like Habitat, Mind Against’s imprint, where he has been featured on Metaflora and Metaflora II compilations. 12. New York City wonderboy Layton Giordani is back on Insomniac’s techno imprint Factory 93 with Better Than U Thought. In the last few years, he has cemented his status as a prestigious tastemaker in the techno world. His respected decade-long discography has pushed Giordani to the forefront of the next generation of underground producers. This vocal-led peak-time techno track revolves around an enchanting hook. In the meantime, its silky croons sit atop running basslines, whirring risers, sharp percussion, cooing harmonic accents, and an acid-fueled resolution, closing the track in fine form. I was playing a Euro weekend in Amsterdam/Berlin, and I was looking to play a more driven techno set, but I also wanted to have a more sexy aesthetic, so I started surfing the web for vocals. I found this amazing slow vocal, sped it up, added an acid hook, and here we are – Layton Giordani. Layton Giordani stands firmly as one of the most popular talents of techno’s new school. He is a true artist in every sense of the word. His pioneering musical vision serves as a contemporary voice for the younger generation. Spending years acquiring knowledge from musical greats, the 28-year-old possesses a wealth of experience far beyond his years. He has now undeniably earned his rank in the upper echelon of techno. 19. TroyBoi and Scrufizzer are on a mission to keep it moving, and their new single doesn't just demand attention—it grabs life by the horns. The influential electronic music producer and London-based MC have joined forces for a high-energy track that pairs slick trap rhythms with the fiery cadence of UK grime. Titled "Keep It Moving," the single embodies its name through layers of minimalist production as Scrufizzer's spitfiring lyricism propels through. At the foundation lies TroyBoi's signature touch: tip-toeing melodies that glide across booming 808s, snappy hi-hats and clacking tribal percussion. The arrangement is intentionally sparse, giving every element room to breathe while still delivering a hefty impact. This minimalist approach is where TroyBoi shines, allowing Scrufizzer’s commanding presence to dominate the spotlight. With percussive elements that feel like they’ve been plucked from far-reaching corners of the world, their combined global influences only deepen the song’s allure, adding texture to its trap backbone. And just when you think Scrufizzer’s flow couldn’t be any sharper, TroyBoi manipulates his vocals, twisting and chopping them up like origami to add an extra layer of dynamism to the mix. Together, the two artists have crafted a collaboration that feels both raw and refined, a seamless blend of grime's punch and trap's atmospheric tension. "Keep It Moving" is a reminder that when these two are behind the controls, there's no hitting pause. Listen to "Keep It Moving" below and find the new track on streaming services here. 21. The Chainsmokers and Kim Petras each have a way of turning chaos into bliss, and their new single "Don't Lie" is no exception. As infectious as a late-summer breeze, carrying with it an irresistible hook that pulses with a six-syllable hum, "Don't Lie" arrives with all the promise of a hit in the making. Laying the foundation for a song that feels at once simple and deeply layered, its minimalist house rhythms are a showcase in the success of subtlety while its lyrics whisper of desire, connection and the heat of the moment. Visually, the "Don't Lie" music video blends this sonic simplicity with a whirlwind of playful chaos. Petras emerges from a muddy puddle like a spirit of mischief, bringing a sense of carefree fun to The Chainsmokers' pop-up summer party. As they hop into a Jeep and take off with the top down, the rush of freedom is palpable. However, their carefree joy ride takes a comical turn when a sudden storm sweeps through their event, flipping tents in the air and turning their party into a swirling frenzy. Still, in true Petras fashion, the storm can't touch their vibe. Dancing in the rain, they embrace the moment with an effortless grace, owning the chaos like it's all part of the plan. 22. Gero‘s latest album, “We Can Find Us Again,” is a mesmerizing journey through sound and emotion that defies easy categorization. This Athens-born artist has crafted a musical anthology that invites listeners to lose themselves in its depths. He offers a profound experience of introspection where sound becomes a narrative wormhole to both heart and mind. So, what is this album all about? Let’s dive deep into it. From the opening notes of “Evangelism,” it’s clear that this is no ordinary electronic music album. The track unfolds like a cinematic score, building anticipation with ethereal and mysterious elements. It then unleashes in a rolling, percussive rhythm that sets the stage for the odyssey to come. As we delve deeper into the album, “Law of Attraction” emerges as a natural evolution of the opener. The cinematic backdrop remains, but the introduction of angelic vocals and choruses elevates the mystical atmosphere. It’s as if Gero is slowly peeling back layers of consciousness, revealing new dimensions of sound with each track. The album takes a slight turn with “Final Church“. The record introduces more melodic techno elements while maintaining the underlying sense of mystery. The experimental touches, like the plucked arpeggio and dark bassline, showcase Gero’s willingness to push boundaries and blend genres seamlessly. This kind of artistic risk-taking keeps the listener engaged and wondering what sonic surprise might be waiting around the next corner. “Can You Make The Ground Shake?” is a standout track that manages to go even deeper underground. The minimal synth theme, paired with strong piano lines and mysterious choruses, creates a tension that builds to energetic synth lines reminiscent of the melodic house current we all love. Yet, Gero resists the urge to break into full peak-time territory. He maintains the album’s slow-burning, mysterious vibe. As we reach the midpoint of the album with “Voyageur,” the deep, dark ambiance is punctuated by soft piano harmonies and dreamy male vocals. The experimental, Afro-house-inspired percussive rhythm demonstrates Gero’s finger on the pulse of current trends while still maintaining his unique, dark techno sensibilities. It’s this fusion of styles that makes “We Can Find Us Again” feel both timely and timeless. “Bohemian Grove” lives up to its intriguing title, centered around a catchy groove and percussive rhythm. The track is a playground of rhythmic and drum elements, all coalescing around a clean main theme. It’s here that Gero’s production skills really shine. He balances complexity with clarity in an impressive and immersive way. The album’s turning point arrives with “Oniro & Fovos,” where angelic female vocals float above a soft, incredible main theme. This track marks the collision of deep, synth-driven elements with more cinematic sounds. Gero perfectly encapsulates the dual nature of the album – at once intimate and expansive. As we enter the final third of the album, tracks like “Oblivion” and “Remember the Rain” continue to explore the interplay between catchy percussions and dreamy synths. “The Realm” leans more heavily into cinematic and atmospheric territory while maintaining the melodic techno and percussive backbone that defines the album’s sound. “House of the Blue Leaves” shifts gears slightly, introducing a more progressive environment. On it, synth lines and atmospheric elements dance with rolling percussions. The album’s denouement begins with “You’re Here Cause You’re Riding High“. This is a track that builds anticipation for the finale while exercising admirable restraint. This leads into “Burn For You,” which surprises with its hip-hop vocal introduction before morphing into an Afro-house-inspired melodic techno tune that feels both familiar and fresh. Finally, “The Last Temptation” closes the album in grandiose fashion, synthesizing all the elements we’ve encountered throughout our journey into a monumental closing statement. Why Gero’s We Can Find Us Again really stands out? What strikes me most about “We Can Find Us Again” is its cohesiveness despite its genre-spanning breadth. Gero has managed to create an album that feels like a single, flowing piece of music while still allowing each track to stand on its own merits. The storytelling aspect is palpable – there’s a clear narrative arc from beginning to end, with each track representing a new chapter in the journey. The production throughout is impeccable, with a clarity and depth that rewards repeated listens. Gero’s attention to detail is evident in every track. While the album draws inspiration from various corners of the electronic music world – from the melodic techno sound to Afro-house rhythms – it never feels derivative. Instead, Gero has taken these influences and woven them into something uniquely his own. The result is an album that feels both familiar and groundbreaking, comfortable yet challenging. As a listener, I found myself completely absorbed in the world Gero has created. The album’s ability to evoke emotion and spark introspection is remarkable. At times, I felt as if I was floating through space, while at others, I was grounded by primal rhythms and earthy textures. It’s rare to find an electronic music album that engages both the body and the mind so thoroughly. “We Can Find Us Again” demands and rewards active listening, taking the audience on a journey that’s as much internal as it is auditory.
