  1. The sixth studio album by Canadian electronic music legend Deadmau5, ‘>Album Title Goes Here<’, and its deluxe edition, has officially turned 12 years old today. Released on September 21, 2012, the album showcases Deadmau5’s signature sound, packed with a mix of progressive and electro house music. This album produced five standout singles that made waves in the EDM scene: ‘Maths,’ ‘The Veldt,’ ‘Professional Griefers,’ ‘Channel 42,’ and ‘Telemiscommunications’. Each track carried its own distinct flavor, from the emotional depth of ‘The Veldt’, which is inspired by Ray Bradbury’s short story of the same name, to the high-octane collaboration with Gerard Way on ‘Professional Griefers’. The deluxe edition offered extra treats, including live fan-favorite ‘Strobe,’ the Tommy Trash remix of ‘The Veldt’, and the radio edit of ‘Professional Griefers’. Upon its release, ‘>Album Title Goes Here<’ debuted at #1 on Billboard’s Top Dance/Electronic Albums and the UK Dance Albums chart, while also claiming the #2 spot on the Canadian Albums Chart, further solidifying Deadmau5’s dominance in the electronic music scene. The album also became his second to receive a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronica Album at the 55th Grammy Awards, though it ultimately lost to Skrillex’s Bangarang. One of the most viral stories tied to this album is how the track ‘The Veldt’ came to life. The song’s lyrics were created through a encounter on Twitter between Deadmau5 and a fan named Chris James. After Deadmau5 shared an instrumental preview of ‘The Veldt’ on SoundCloud, Chris James reached out, sharing his own vocal version of the track. Initially skeptical, Deadmau5 decided to give it a listen, famously saying, “I am going to totally critique this.” To his surprise, James’s vocals were a perfect fit, ultimately leading to their inclusion in the final version of the song. The collaboration added emotional depth to ‘The Veldt’, making it one of the most iconic tracks on the album. As we celebrate 12 years of ‘>Album Title Goes Here<’, it’s clear that this album remains a pivotal release in Deadmau5’s career. From viral fan interactions to Grammy nominations, this album has left a lasting legacy in the world of electronic dance music.
  2. Tresor Records drops ‘INDUSTRY 4.0’ EP by DJ Stingray 313, out today. The EP is a sonic exploration into modern manufacturing concepts and the impact on humanity. Today they share the music video for the single ‘LARGE LANGUAGE MODEL’. As the title suggests, it represents a ride through the depths of large language models from the analogue to the digital and the worlds in between, ending in a collapse. Moods and titles across the EP cover artificial intelligence (LARGE LANGUAGE MODEL), the internet, and robotics (MULTI FUNCTIONAL ROBOTICS and SENSOR DATA) – all set to his signature high-energy, industrial, cyborg-style productions. Together, the tracks on INDUSTRY 4.0 work as a striking and current introspective of humanity’s uncertain evolution, moving as fast as the technology it creates. A Detroit native, Sherard Ingram is an established figure in electro & techno from its earliest days, a menacing node in the vast tangle of electronic music’s history, present & future. His Urban Tribe project is testament to this. First appearing on the genre-defining 1991 compilation ‘Equinox,’ Urban Tribe has come to call Anthony Shakir, Carl Craig & Kenny Dixon Jr. members of the group. Though perhaps what has thus far come to be Ingram’s most finely calibrated and entirely natural manoeuvre was under the wing of Drexciya’s James Stinson. Performing with Drexciya’s live unit, Ingram took the ‘Drexciyan DJ Stingray’ identity and conjured a torrential storm from the DJ booth. His aqua-genetic code persists in the form of NRSB-11, his collaboration with the other half of Drexciya, Gerald Donald. In 2017 Stingray mixed Kern Vol.4, Tresor’s compilation DJ mix series, while he’s released on both genre- centric & experimental labels from Planet E to Presto!? and from Mahogani Music to Reflex, his Micron Audio imprint to name a few. 3. Armin van Buuren – Part Of Me (feat. Louis III) Showcasing his open-mindedness toward other genres, Armin van Buuren ventures into Afro house for a brand-new single featuring Louis III: ‘Part Of Me’. Inspired by various Afro house remixes on some of his own tracks, this one is a late-summer Afro-dance hit. Lost Frequencies x Bomfunk MC’s – Freestyler (Rock the Microphone) Lost Frequencies has teamed up with iconic group Bomfunk MC’s to bring a fresh new take on the legendary hit, ‘Freestyler’. This collaboration revives the classic track with a modern twist, blending Lost Frequencies‘ signature melodic sound with the original’s energetic breakbeats and rap elements. The collab bridges the gap between generations of music lovers, reintroducing the iconic track to a new audience while paying homage to its roots. B longstoryshort – IN MY MIND Continuing his hot streak of hits, longstoryshort unveils ‘IN MY MIND’. He then decides to crank up the intensity with a heavily layered buildup followed by a massive wave of bass house. Keeping listeners on the edge of their seats, ‘IN MY MIND’ is infused with a driving bassline that is primed for warehouse raves, festival mainstages, getting wild at a pre-game, and every party setting in between. Chris Lake x Disclosure – in2minds Today, Chris Lake and Disclosure share their massively awaited collaboration ‘in2minds’. 5. In their most mature work to-date, Louis The Child prove that growing up doesn't mean growing out of the ability to see magic in the mundane. Out now via Interscope, their new album The Sun Comes Up taps into the wellspring of human experience through tracks that pulse with the electric current of childlike wonder. Inviting us to shed our cynical shells, the album is a sonic playground where sadness becomes a trampoline, launching us through a song-cycle of aching lyricism and walk-on-air production. The Sun Comes Up doesn't shy away from the shadows, instead urging us to find joy in the unexpected and to wear our emotions like battle scars. Each track is a neon-bright reminder to follow your gut and to let your heart be your compass in a world too often governed by cold logic. Freddy Kennett (L) and Robby Hauldren (R) of Louis The Child.Joey Vitalari Longtime fans of Louis The Child will find solace in the familiar dance-pop of "tip toe." The lyric, "My love was made for you, don't you tiptoe 'round it" dares listeners to dive headlong into a love's intoxicating depths, forsaking caution for connection. The same goes for "Wonderful," an ode to their hometown of Chicago where bubbly house beats mutate into blissed-out trap drops that fizz with frenetic bass. Another standout arrives with "Let You Go," which finds the duo reuniting with Drew Love, with whom they released the fan-favorite "Free" back in 2019. This time around, they've crafted a bittersweet anthem for those caught between holding on and letting go. Louis The Child's deep dubstep production mirrors the turbulent emotions of a relationship slipping away while Love's lyrics embrace the reluctant release. To that end, it's no wonder why Louis The Child's Robby Hauldren and Freddy Kennett called The Sun Comes Up their "most personal project to date." Like a sugar-coated pill, the album swallows the bitter realities of life whole and leaves a sweet aftertaste of hope. "It's what feels worth the time and energy, doing your best to make the world brighter for yourself, and then along the way, for everyone else, too," Hauldren said in a press release. "When you're intentionally making music, it's your choice what to say. Are you going to talk about how much you hate a person, or are you going to talk about how you've grown from how they treated you, and try to find some new understanding through it?" 6. Past is prologue in the case of ZOCASE, Mat Zo's new Anjunabeats EP, a veritable showcase of his unflinching willingness to produce electronic music that defies. Zo is one of the most celebrated artists on Above & Beyond's illustrious electronic label, which released his debut album, Damage Control, back in 2013. That record featured "Easy," a collaboration with Porter Robinson that remains a generational dance anthem. True to form, ZOCASE is not background noise for the faint-hearted—it's a full-contact sport for the ears, a labyrinth where each track stretches beyond the eight-minute mark. He weaves a cocoon of vintage electro and techno in these songs, each of which is a miniature universe unto itself. Fans of Zo know the beauty of his music lies in its details. He kicks off with "Relic of the Future," where his mastery of sound design shines with textured, propulsive production. One moment you're floating through cosmic synth leads, the next you're thrust into a centrifuge of gritty electro. The producer's meticulous attention to stereo imaging and frequency spectrum manipulation is clear in the ensuing "Bluish Yellow," a lysergic, soaring track that could soundtrack a woozy drive out of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas. Here, complex arrangements and dynamic builds culminate in cathartic progressive house drops. He then closes ZOCASE with "This Too Shall Pass," a glitchy techno floor-filler with energy that refuses to relent until its atmospheric coda. The EP takes its name from Zo's audiovisual concept "ZOCASE," which he debuted at Aures London back on June 29th, 2023 before touring the show across North America. He's now set for a momentous showcase at New York City's famed Irving Plaza on December 6th. Listen to ZOCASE below and find the new EP on streaming platforms here. 7. Arcando and Vluarr have joined forces for a new collaboration, "Ascend," out now on Martin Garrix's STMPD RCRDS. It's the first original drum & bass track to release on the label, a STMPD representative confirmed to EDM.com. Garrix recently made waves during his performance at the Bill Graham Civic Auditorium in the Bay Area, where he dropped the then-unreleased song. Attendees of the "Animals" producer's DJ sets are always bound to hear a slew of epic electro and big room anthems, but hearing him dabble in drum & bass was an unexpected surprise that left fans wanting more. Luckily for them, the track that turned heads is finally out now. "Ascend" finds Arcando and Vluarr teaming up with Felix Samuel for a heady drum & bass anthem. It kicks off with Samuel's emotive lyrics leading the way as a synth rumbles gently beneath the surface as if it's about to strike at a moment's notice. Angelic strings then lift the vocals as they morph into a battle cry before the producers uncage a hyperactive drop sequence. Here, powerful kickdrums and frenetic percussion patterns slice through the mix with the precision of a katana through bamboo. After Garrix played Arcando's viral remix of Alok and The Chainsmokers' "Jungle" at Ultra Miami, he connected with Vluarr and the two got to work. "Just like I did with 'Jungle,' we wanted to do something different outside of the usual drum & bass sound with influences from bass house and cinematic dance music," Arcando tells EDM.com. "As I've been a fan of Martijn's music ever since the releases of 'Animals' and 'Virus,' it's truly an honor to get the nod for the first original drum & bass song on STMPD RCRDS, and I'm excited to keep on merging drum & bass with other electronic dance music genres with my next releases." 8. The mundane melts away under the smoldering grooves of Purple Disco Machine's music in his stunning new album, Paradise. Out now via Sony Music, Paradise is the Grammy-winning producer's most evocative body of work yet. The electric tingle of anticipation before a first kiss, the warmth of sunshine on bare skin, the effervescent laughter of a shared inside joke—the album is a passport to those experiences. Through 15 tracks and bubbly collaborations with Nile Rodgers, Metronomy, Duke Dumont and more, PDM offers his interpretations of what it means to truly feel alive. There's no skips here, just dopamine-fueled nu-disco with a retro touch. Purple Disco Machine.Dennis Dirksen A surefire highlight comes with the synth-soaked "Bad Company," a track with enough cowbells to finally satisfy Will Ferrell. Another standout is the MORGAN-assisted "Can't Stop Loving You," where he dials down the tempo to drop a slow-burning dance-pop track akin to velvet curtains and cognac. Elsewhere, Purple Disco Machine and Chromeo's infectious melodies burrow their way into your consciousness with the funky, vocoder-laden "Heartbreaker." The same goes for "All My Life," a walk-on-air disco anthem that fires up the nostalgia machine to a time when the genre ruled the night, but with a contemporary twist that keeps it fresh and relevant. Purple Disco Machine is now taking Paradise on an eponymous tour in which he's performing with a full band for the first time in his career. The new live show is "like nothing I've ever done before," he said in a press release. "The live show is a completely new production, it's actually like nothing I've ever done before - songs are combined in mashups, new songs are included, old songs are included, in new variations. And all this with live artists, with live singers, with dancers, in a completely new guise” Listen to Paradise below and find the new album on streaming platforms here. 9. Providing one last dose of sunshine before fall begins, Armin van Buuren and Louis III have released a radiant new single, "Part of Me." The track marks the first time van Buuren has explored the sounds of Afro house, according to a press release issued by his label, Armada Music. "Many years ago, I found that there’s something to love in every single genre, no matter the style of music you prefer as a whole," van Buuren said. "I’ve had the pleasure of having some of my original tracks pushed in the Afro house space by some insanely talented remixers, and what got me and inspired me was the soulfulness and warmth the genre offers in spades. I felt compelled to channel this, and I’m glad I crossed paths with Louis III to make this happen." Paired with the song's rhythmic drums, Louis III's lighthearted vocals transport you to a beach that never closes for the season. Penning deep and intimate lyrics, the South London-born singer-songwriter called the opportunity to work alongside van Buuren "a dream come true." "Part of Me" arrives shortly after the release of "Follow The Light," the A State of Trance icon's first collaboration with Hardwell in nearly a decade. Not long before that, van Buuren shared "Es Vedrà," a track doubling as a tribute to his favorite location in Ibiza. "Part of Me" is out now on Armada. In an era of fleeting, cookie-cutter viral dance hits, "Levels" is proving its staying power as a generational anthem. Released back on October 28th, 2011, it's Avicii's sixth song to reach the milestone after "Hey Brother," "Wake Me Up," "The Nights," "Waiting For Love" and "Without You." However, it's more than just a number—it's a billion moments of joy and a billion memories made on dancefloors and at festivals worldwide. Even years after Avicii's tragic death, "Levels" continues to resonate, proving that great dance music truly is timeless. Official Avicii Newsletter For fans of Avicii, hearing "Levels" is a near-spiritual experience. The breakthrough single was a tour de force for the late electronic dance music legend, launching the career of a prevailing icon before it was cut short in 2018, when he tragically died by suicide. "Levels" remains one of the most popular EDM songs in the world. Prior to this year's Tomorrowland, it had been named the best anthem in the festival's history after claiming the most fan votes in the "Tomorrowland Top 1000" poll. The event's 25th anniversary in Belgium then morphed into an emotional requiem for Avicii, whose timeless track found new life at the hands of Hardwell, Afrojack and many more. 17. Universal Music Group (UMG) and Spotify are in advanced discussions about a special, high-priced version of Spotify. This premium tier would offer a better user experience for music fans. Spotify CEO Daniel Ek announced earlier this year that the premium tier would likely cost between $17 and $18 per month. It would offer more control and better sound quality. UMG and other music companies are looking for ways to make more money from serious music fans. Streaming services have mostly focused on getting more people to sign up for cheaper plans. Universal’s CFO, Boyd Muir, said “Superfans, the most avid 20%-30% of all music listeners, once drove over 70% of recorded music spending. Streaming monetizes them, but not nearly as well as in the past“. As a sort of evidence, Tencent Music Entertainment in China already offers a premium tier that costs five times more than the regular version. Many users have signed up for this tier, therefore UMG argues even more people would be willing to pay more for a better music experience. Spotify has been considering the idea of a superfan tier for several years. The company first announced plans for a high-end tier called HiFi in 2021, but it was delayed the following year. Despite the delay, Spotify has continued to explore ways to offer a premium listening experience for its most dedicated users. In addition to enhanced audio quality and greater control, the superfan tier could offer other exclusive benefits, such as early access to new music, ad-free listening, and personalized recommendations. By providing a more premium experience, Spotify aims to attract and retain its most valuable customers and generate additional revenue. Now, we know the Insomniac venue is known for their incredible House and Techno acts, but let’s see if they’re bringing the heat with these artists. They also announced that Space’s jointed venues The Ground and Floyd enjoyed a well-deserved facelift. Full Calendar September will finish with a bang with acts like Peggy Gou, Green Velvet, Fisher, and Dombresky gracing the Terrace. October is filled with amazing melodic acts including Miss Monique, Bob Moses, Nora en Pure, Marsh, and Innellea. Furthermore, Club Space will once again host the official satellite afterparties for III Points Music Festival, also hosted by Insomniac. November gets a spooky start for Halloween weekend with the soundscapes of Nicole Moudaber, Paco Osuna, Seth Troxler, and an impactul b2b with Dixon and Âme. After a night with Brazilian star Vintage Culture, the Techno takes over for shows with Joseph Capriati, Carl Cox, Deborah de Luca, Camelphat, and a heavy night with Psymama Indira Paganotto and direct support from Lee Ann Roberts. Thanksgiving will be extremely groovy with Space’s signature DJ Marco Carola, before Enamour, Wax Motif, and Acraze. December will be a phenomenal end of the year, starting with 6 days of parties for Art Basel week. Exhale’s label boss lady Amelie Lens returns to the Terrace, as well as Ilario Alicante and Duke Dumont. New Years week will have you baffled with parties going from Friday the 27th to Wednesday January 1st. Space’s residents will provide heavy support to all these amazing acts. Refreshing The Ground and Floyd Sister venues for Club Space are locating on the bottom floor, and they will be as fun as ever. Including major redesign opportunities, there will be more space to dance at The Ground, as they took away the VIP section. Moreover, the space will continue to book live acts, but shift gears to the more niche and underground genres that deserve a space in the electronic dance scene in Miami. So if you want to break your neck at The Ground to some Dubstep, or Drum and Bass, this is your call. Floyd will now have a DJ-centered experience for more intimate shows with the audience. The expansion of both rooms was long overdue, and we can’t wait to see it. The Ground has also served as a lounge area during the iconic marathons at the Terrace. So what do we think about the Space calendar? Are we getting tickets or what?! The post Club Space Miami Announces Fall Events Roster appeared first on EDMTunes.

  23. Lyte, the popular fan-to-fan ticket exchange platform Lyte has abruptly ceased operations. Founder Ant Taylor has resigned, and the company is currently seeking a buyer to repay its debts to fans and promoters. Lyte, which launched in 2014 with significant investment, positioned itself as a fair and ethical way for fans to buy and sell tickets. However, recent reports suggest that the company may have engaged in less transparent practices. This includes assisting promoters in scalping high-end tickets. The sudden shutdown has caused significant disruption for many clients. Promoters who relied on Lyte for their ticketing needs are now facing financial losses. Moreover, fans who purchased tickets through the platform are uncertain about whether they will receive refunds. Legal action is a possibility as attorneys representing affected clients explore options to recover their funds. The situation is particularly challenging for smaller event organizers who may have depended heavily on Lyte for their revenue. As the investigation into Lyte‘s collapse continues, whether the company’s investors will be held accountable for its actions remains to be seen. The incident also raises questions about the transparency and reliability of online ticket marketplaces. Lyte’s closure serves as a reminder of the risks associated with relying on a single company for ticketing services. It is important for fans and promoters to exercise caution and consider alternative options to minimize potential losses. As the industry grapples with this crisis, it is likely that new regulations and standards will be introduced to prevent similar incidents from happening in the future.
