World’s No. 1 DJ Martin Garrix tapped into Italy’s finest duo Agents Of Time – composed of Andrea Di Ceglie and Luigi Tutolo – to give a re-imagination to his standout EDM anthem. 3. *Featured Cover Photo Credit: Drumsheds The illustrious London dance/electronic music hotspot, Drumsheds, had encountered dangers of going under because of unfortunate incidents that happened in the past year. According to an article from Mixmag, those incidents include a stabbing and two deaths that involved drug use. On January 8, the Drumsheds venue received an amendment that allows it to keep their near-1,500-capacity venue to operate that capacity. That amendment came from the Enfield Council, which granted permission to Drumsheds to remain open yesterday after the council conducted a license review of the venue. The London Centric publication added that the process of the license review from the Enfield Council had also involved members of the community who gathered at the council’s Civic Centre to discuss the future of Drumsheds in front of three councilors on the licensing committee. In the end, the councilors side with Drumsheds and allowed the venue to continue retaining their license and operate as usual with “modified conditions”. Drumsheds will continue to host nightly events and these modified conditions include varying levels of security at its gigs depending on the size and nature of the specific events. Shown below is the statement from councilor Susan Erbil on how Dreamsheds can still operate as usual but with the couple new conditions moving forward. Photo Credit: Drumsheds Councillor Susan Erbil explains how Drumsheds can still operate as usual with the modified conditions described in the license review “Enfield Council’s primary concerns remain the safety and wellbeing of its residents. Today, the licensing sub-committee heard the representations provided to them by the police and representatives on behalf of the venue management and agreed that the premises licence holder should retain their licence with modified conditions. Council officers and the police will continue to monitor the premises and undertake compliance checks but it is the premises licence holder’s responsibility to ensure the conditions are upheld.” The post Drumsheds Venue Remain Open Due to License Review appeared first on EDMTunes.

  7. The fifth studio album Magickal via Crosstown Rebels by electronic music visionary Damian Lazarus has been released. Against industry standards, the album comes as a shock drop—bypassing the tradition of staggered single releases and instead providing the whole artistic experience from day one. With Magickal, I wanted to do things differently. I’ve sought to bypass the current trend of drawn-out single drops and fragmented album experiences. For me, this is about returning to the idea of an album as a complete, cohesive artistic statement—a pinnacle moment rather than an afterthought. After the release, we’ll explore the music further with singles, remixes, and a world tour, where I’m planning to present the album in some fresh, innovative ways. All to be revealed soon. – Damian Lazarus. The beginning: Day Zero in 2012 Day Zero, Damian’s fabled annual celebration bringing music, environment, and community together, falls in line with the release of the album designed to honor the end of the Mayan calendar in 2012. Since then, Day Zero has evolved beyond a mere celebration and is now a cultural cornerstone and benchmark for worldwide festival circuit immersive events. Set against the spectacular natural splendor deep in the Mexican jungles of Tulum, Day Zero deftly combines modern production and music with great regard for native culture, history, and customs. Day Zero sets a standard for how modern events could respect ancient traditions in relevant and modern ways by including rituals and customs in its programming while using ecological techniques. Reflecting the album’s themes of unity, transcendence, and the magical power of connection, this ethos not only inspires Damian’s creative vision and process but also forms the basis for the immersive world of Magickal – so providing the ideal launchpad for the LP. The new album: Magickal Designed amid a turning point in Damian’s life, Magickal captures his newly acquired sobriety and changed perspective, thereby guiding emotional depth and clarity into every song. With an outstanding slate of collaborators, the album explores worldwide inspirations while revisiting significant events from Damian’s whole catalog. Highlights include the flamenco-infused “La Hija De Juan Simón” with Spanish pair Méstiza and “Alive,” a mix of pop sensibilities and Damian’s unique sound with the Bloom twins. Along with Mathew Jonson’s virtuoso performances on “Are You Dreaming?” and Zoe Kypri’s lyrical vocals on “So Low,” other notable tracks include the amapiano-inspired “Warrior Dance” featuring Ghanaian singer Jojo Abot, “Falling Down,” a collaboration with TEED and A-Trak. Magickal Tracklist Searchin’ (feat. Jem Cooke) So Low (feat. Zoe Kypri) Why Don’t U Falling Down (feat. Totally Enormous Extinct Dinosaurs & A-Trak) La Hija De Juan Simon (feat. Mestiza) R U Dreaming? (feat. Mathew Jonson) Sunrise Generation (feat. Fink) Force (feat. Jojo Abot) Additional Singles: Alive (feat. Bloom Twins) Warrior Dance (feat. Jojo Abot) Magickal runs with ideas of mental elevation and musical inquiry. Inspired by events at sunrise, tracks like “Sunrise Generation” with Fink capture times of group wonder and spiritual uplifting. With brilliant lead single “Searchin” alongside Jem Cooke, whose partnership with Damian spans “Flourish” in 2020, dropping alongside the album and accompanied by a remix from Rekids head honcho, Damian’s ability to weave these emotional touchpoints with inventive rhythms confirms his reputation as a master of musical transcendence. Damian Lazarus around the world: festivals and clubs Along with a globe tour involving appearances at Coachella and more, further songs like the stated “Alive” and “Warrior Dance,” together with fresh edits and extensive remixes, will follow the release. Along with a series of performances by special guests and original activations for those in attendance, the Crosstown boss will also hold a special launch event at Nômade in Tulum (January 8). 8. Oh, the irony of witnessing the setting sun by the shores with some Anjunadeep churned out in the background! The added incentive of witnessing this on the global label’s return to its ‘spiritual home’ is something to bask in. It does not end here. The winner takes all when this happens on a New Year’s Eve and the setting sun you witness is the last one of 2024. Goa, India testified exactly the same on the 31st of December, 2024 leading into the first sunrise of 2025. The renowned Thalassa in Ashvem Beach was the harbor of this miracle occurrence. Nox Vahn The melancholy of the deeper, progressive synths binding the air through the shores was evidently palpable. The likes of Anjunadeep mainstays Nox Vahn and 16 BL with their ingenious and stirring soundscapes have expectedly mesmerized the ones in attendance. Gracing the decks also was Anjunadeep veteran PROFF, who also serves as Anjunadeep’s studio head of production. His magical rendition of Orbital’s ‘Halycon’ was something to cherish. It set the tone for the magical evening to its glory. PROFF Ringing in the New Year with his brand of smooth & mellow harmony is UK based producer, Catching Flies. Local Anjunadeep hero, Parallel Voices, is the one responsible for deck duties while the last sun of 2024 sunk in. In comes the ‘dark lord of Anjunadeep’, Nox Vahn, with his grade of deep, shadowy riffs dominating the atmosphere as we approached 2025. 16BL (Ariaan Olieroock) rounded off the proceedings before an impromptu B2B with PROFF. 16 BL As Nox summarised, ‘this was the place to be’ on a New Year. A perfect backdrop of the setting sun in the evening. A seamless transition into 2025 with the aura of Anjunadeep combined with the waves crashing into the sand. Nothing to wish for more, nothing augurs better. A sense of satisfaction to the soul into the first sunrise of 2025. And a feeling of fulfilment of watching it unfold all live, at Anjunadeep’s own ‘spiritual home’. The post Anjunadeep Returned to its ‘Spiritual Home’ on New Year’s Eve appeared first on EDMTunes.
  9. 10 years on from its release ‘We Rise’ is now a certified gold record having passed the 500,000 copies sold mark only a few days before the start of San Holo’s 10-Year Anniversary Tour. San Holo already had incredible success in 2014 with the release of his debut EP ‘Cosmos’, and yet he managed to go even further with the prosperity of ‘We Rise.’ It was a further display of his incredibly unique style that he has now come to call ‘Existential Dance Music’ and it even caught the eye of Skrillex as he took to social media to urge people to check it out. 10. Steve Angello, one of the most influential figures in electronic music, has opened up about a pivotal shift in his mindset as he heads into 2025. For more than 25 years, Angello has lived a fast-paced life, relentlessly working without rest and never embracing the concept of “vacation.” For him, work has been the constant pulse driving everything—until now. In a heartfelt message, Angello revealed a profound realization, shutting off the noise isn’t an escape—it’s a necessity. This marks a significant transformation in how the artist approaches life, creativity, and his relationship with the world. For me, vacations aren’t about indulgence or adventure..They’re about stillness, isolation, stripping away the constant hum of the world, and reconnecting with the quiet that sparks clarity. For Angello, this revelation isn’t just a philosophical shift—it’s one that comes with actionable changes. He plans to embrace intentional isolation as a way to recharge and rethink his creative process. Rather than viewing solitude as a retreat, he sees it as an opportunity to deepen his connection to himself and his art. What This Means for Steve Angello This new chapter signifies a move toward a slower, more introspective rhythm for the Swedish House Mafia member. Angello identifies as an introvert, someone who thrives in solitude rather than crowds. It’s in this quiet space, he says, where his creativity breathes, expands, and thrives. Steve Angello Story By stepping back from the constant demands of the music industry, Angello aims to prioritize clarity and intentionality in his work. “To listen to my thoughts, let them guide me, and turn them into something tangible,” he explains. Angello has outlined concrete steps he will take to bring this vision to life: Fewer Commitments: He plans to take on fewer projects and focus only on those that resonate deeply with him. Time Away from Touring: Expect fewer appearances on stage as he dedicates more time to personal growth and creative exploration. Creative Exploration: In his solitude, Angello will explore new artistic directions and allow himself the freedom to experiment with different sounds and concepts. Reconnecting with Nature and Stillness: By removing himself from the hustle of daily life, he will seek environments that inspire reflection and spark creativity. What Fans Can Expect While this shift means Angello will likely spend less time in the spotlight, fans have much to look forward to. With more time to focus on his thoughts and ideas, his future projects are likely to reflect a deeper, more intentional artistic expression. “I’ll have so much more to say—and this time, I’ll be ready to say it,” he promises. Angello’s message is a reminder that even in an industry driven by energy and constant motion, there is immense value in slowing down. His decision to embrace stillness and isolation isn’t just about self-care—it’s a powerful step toward unlocking the next chapter of his creativity. Fans are eager to see how this shift shapes his music and vision in 2025 and beyond. The post Steve Angello Plans on Slowing Down in 2025 appeared first on EDMTunes.

  14. On Family Piknik Music (the music label of the beloved French festival), Ukrainian producer Anikey‘s most recent release, “Crosstown Respect,” stands out as a track that brilliantly reflects the present development of indie dance and melodic techno. The original mix spends no time defining its aims. The backbone of the tune is a strong bassline that threads through a painstakingly created tech-house percussion mix that begs movement right away. This production distinguishes itself by carefully balancing dancefloor utility with emotional depth—a balance that is getting rare in the electronic music scene of today. Cleverly processed vocal fragments offer an extra layer of suspense as the song moves along, complementing hypnotic synth patterns that develop with great restraint. Anikey’s great awareness of dance floor dynamics is shown by its slow intensification, which produces those priceless moments of expectation defining unique club experiences. The remix by Marat Mode finishes the bundle by darkening the original. Their take simplifies some of the indie dance components in favor of a more direct, peak-time style. Acid-tinged synthesizer lines provide an additional layer of trippy intensity that is especially useful in the early morning hours – something I personally observed as Tale Of Us wove it into their most recent set. Although both versions have great value on their own, they go wonderfully together and provide DJs with different tools for various events. While Marat Mode’s remix is specifically designed for those peak-time events when the energy has to be pushed into overdrive, the original mix shines in those twilight hours when audiences are warming up. 19. Everyone has their own way of celebrating the end of the year, but for those who wanted to do so in the most memorable way – and with a bang – one of the three Awakenings New Year’s events on December 28th, 29th, or 31st was undoubtedly the place to be. EDMHouseNetwork had the pleasure of attending numerous Awakenings events throughout 2024, each one leaving us in awe. The event we attended on December 29th was no exception. One of the most spectacular aspects of Awakenings is how they consistently outdo themselves with every event, especially in terms of production and stage design. It’s not just that each event offers a fresh take on design and visuals, but the way the production evolves throughout the day to create a unique atmosphere for every DJ is truly remarkable. The time, effort, skill, and resources required to pull this off are nothing short of extraordinary. Not only are attendees taken on a journey through music that continually shifts and evolves, but they’re also immersed in a dynamic visual experience that matches the energy of each set. On December 29th, the production and stage design featured an impressive array of triangles positioned in a 360-degree configuration throughout the iconic Gashouder. This was complemented by 700 LED strips, resulting in a staggering total of nearly 1 kilometer of LED lighting. For the first time ever, Awakenings also combined two of their iconic centerpiece elements-the mirror ball and the mesmerizing mirror-into a single event. The mirror ball remained the central focal point, while the mirror shone brilliantly behind the DJ booth, creating a stunning visual synergy. Musically, the event focused on groove techno, with a lineup that delivered an unforgettable day. Thomas Traxx kicked things off with high-energy, classic-meets-modern techno. JakoJako entranced the crowd with her modular synths and experimental beats, while Funk Assault elevated the energy with groovy, funk-infused techno. Ben Klock followed with his signature deep, hypnotic, and powerful set, and Rødhåd took the audience on a journey with his atmospheric and driving techno. Finally, Nina Kraviz closed the night with an eclectic mix of acid and experimental techno. Photo credit: Charlotte van der GaagOnce again, we were blown away by how seamlessly every element – production, stage design, and the diverse styles of the DJs – came together to create something truly extraordinary, and a standout moment of the night was the flawless transition between Ben Klock and Rødhåd. Both delivered mesmerizing sets on their own, but together, they crafted an electrifying progression, building anticipation, excitement, and an irresistible surge in tempo. Moments like these on the dancefloor are rare – when the entire audience becomes united by a shared energy that transcends the music. It’s not just about the beats or melodies being exceptional; it’s about the entire experience reaching deep and connecting souls on a profound level. This was one of those special moments, and it will linger far beyond the last beat of Awakenings New Years on the 2024. What made this experience even more special was the bittersweet realization that the Awakenings New Year’s celebrations at Gashouder, also called the ‘’Techno Temple’’, marked the end of an era – at least for the next 1.5 years – as the legendary venue will undergo major renovations starting in 2025. Leaving the Gashouder for the last time after an event that left us longing for more, felt like a farewell and temporary goodbye to a space that has been central to countless unforgettable moments. However, looking ahead to what Awakenings has in store for 2025, there’s no doubt that the coming year will be filled with exciting surprises and groundbreaking experiences. In May 2024, Awakenings introduced its very first edition of Upclose, focusing on the more progressive and niche corners of techno – a concept that was enthusiastically embraced by the community. The second edition is already set for May 17th and 18th, 2025, with more information about lineups and tickets available here. In July 2024, Awakenings celebrated the third edition of its headliner-driven Awakenings Summer Festival, a massive three-day techno extravaganza that drew nearly 100,000 visitors. The fourth edition is scheduled for July 11–13, 2025, and details about the first wave of artists can be found here. For a glimpse into the amazing experience EDMHouseNetwork had at the 2024 Summer Festival, check out our full coverage here. We’ve said it before, and we’ll say it again: Awakenings and Upclose continue to push boundaries and set new standards in the music event industry. Their relentless innovation in production techniques, bold experimentation with new concepts, and unwavering commitment to quality is a great example of the kind of passion, grit, and vision needed to remain at the forefront and push the industry to new heights. We at EDMHouseNetwork extend a heartfelt thank you to Awakenings, Upclose, and every individual who contributed to the incredible experiences of 2024 – We can’t wait to see what 2025 has in store!

  23. Ternion Sound are disbanding after 2025, the electronic music trio announced today. In a heartfelt statement, the group comprising Jack Denney, Aric Okerman and Andrew Hill expressed immense pride in their seven-year journey. Hill and his partner are now expecting their first child in March, and with various personal and professional factors in play, they've decided to bring the project to a close. The origins of the Minneapolis-based trio can be traced back to 2016's Infrasound Music Festival, where each of its producers joined forces for an impromptu DJ set. They quickly became known for their unique sound, which blends dubstep and experimental bass with reverence for the UK underground. Their scintillating debut album, Digital Artifice, released in October 2023 on Noisia's venerable VISION label, showcasing their versatility through 26 tracks. Promising a memorable final chapter to their career, Denney, Okerman and Hill are now planning a farewell tour and are currently in talks with their favorite promoters. "From the onset, we created Ternion Sound for specific reasons and we’ve tried to stay true to those the whole time: Playing on sound systems that honor the music, integrity in how we portray ourselves, education, sustainability, and freedom to explore compositionally inside of bass music," Ternion Sound said in a statement. "Hopefully we’ve represented those ideals with our project and we hope to have inspired others to do the same." You can read the group's full statement below. 24. A brand-new EDM festival is colonizing this summer in Wisconsin, bringing an extraterrestrial twist to a venue better known for heavy metal and country music. Force Fields, the latest venture from the organizers behind Rock Fest and Hoofbeat, leans hard into the region's reputation as a UFO hotspot. Promising "mind-bending visuals" and "awe-inspiring production," the marketing plays up an alien invasion narrative that feels perfectly at home in Cadott, where locals have reported mysterious lights and unexplained phenomena for decades. It's a shrewd pivot for the proprietors of Force Fields, Chippewa Valley Music Festivals, who are betting that electronic music's futuristic aesthetics will resonate with Wisconsin's festival landscape, where EDM events of this scale are relatively rare. "Launching Force Fields is a thrilling new chapter for us," CVMF's Wade Asher said in a press release back in July. "There’s an excitement in crafting a festival that not only showcases the hottest EDM artists, but also immerses attendees in a narrative that’s as deep and mysteries as the universe itself. We’re excited for fans to experience it." Whether the new camping festival can successfully merge rural Wisconsin's UFO mythology with rave culture remains to be seen, but they've unveiled an inaugural lineup to meet the moment. Headlining the first-ever Force Fields are Rezz, RL Grime, Marshmello, Liquid Stranger, PEEKABOO, Flux Pavilion, INZO and Mersiv. The undercard is also impressive, featuring LYNY, MPH, Ravenscoon and EDM.com Class of 2023 stars Blossom and A Hundred Drums, among others. Force Fields is scheduled for June 6-7, 2025 in Cadott, Wisconsin. You can check out the lineup below and purchase passes here.
