  5. Your McNuggets can now be served with a side of electronic music at a McDonald's restaurant in Budapest. The fast food location recently received an intense remodel with a feature you never could've guessed: DJ sets from 10pm to 4am every Friday and Saturday night. Even better, the chain's location in Nyugati Railway Station provides a cavernous, colonial ceiling on which artists can display trippy visuals. After an eight-month renovation, the franchisee of the McDonald's location decided to call the revamped venue "Nyugati Lounge." The dance music series will run through the end of the year and has so far invited Lauer, Bela Galik and Nigel Sorter to perform, among other local DJs. This location in particular has been lauded by Lonely Planet as the world's "most elegant" McDonald's. Many have even compared it to a five-star hotel, according to the New York Post. Check out a clip of the "Nyugati Lounge" in action below.
  6. One of the most iconic tracks in the vast discography of trance legend, Tiësto is the remix of “Silence,” originally produced by the electronic duo Delerium and featuring the ethereal vocals of Sarah McLachlan. Released on October 4, 2000, the song quickly became a staple in the electronic music scene, thanks to its haunting melodies and emotional depth. Tiësto discovered “Silence” while exploring various tracks for his sets, immediately recognizing its potential to be transformed into a dancefloor anthem. In 2001, he released his ‘In Search of Sunrise Edit’, which took the original’s serene vibe and infused it with driving beats and euphoric synths, making it a perfect fit for clubs and festivals. The remix is renowned for its ability to evoke deep emotions, striking a chord with listeners each time it’s played. Tiësto’s rendition often marks a special occasion during his live performances, captivating audiences and creating unforgettable moments. The combination of McLachlan’s poignant lyrics and Tiësto’s masterful production ensures that “Silence” remains a timeless piece in the trance landscape, celebrated by fans around the world.
  7. Vincent is leading us on a journey through time, back to the golden age of progressive house, and "Surrounded" is the track lighting the way. Out now on Dim Mak, "Surrounded" sees Vincent tapping into the heart of arguably dance music's most euphoric chapter: the 2010s. With a sound that blends modern production with a nostalgic soul, the track is a satisfying throwback. After a three-year mental health break, Vincent's return signals a resurgence in both his personal journey and his artistic output. "'Surrounded' is a love letter to my golden era of dance music," Vincent said in a press release shared with EDM.com. "It is an ode to incredible vocals, a melody you can belt out, and over-the-top energy. Dance music that gives you the euphoric feeling that it’s made to do. After much sonic theory crafting and figuring out where my sound would go next, this is the first step forward." Building upon an emotional core, "Surrounded" captures the feeling of wanting to push someone away but finding no reason to. Its shimmering synth leads and angelic vocals float together in a way that feels both weightless and heavy, delivering a sonic catharsis that Vincent's fans know all too well. In terms of its production, "Surrounded" brings a powerful sense of familiarity. The track aligns itself with the uplifting sound that fans have come to expect from Vincent’s releases, such as "All Night" and the dancefloor stomper "Make a Move." But the new single is more than a nostalgic nod—it infuses the timeless essence of progressive house with a refined, contemporary twist to give listeners the best of both worlds. 9. In a raw moment of exasperation, Bob Sinclar took to social media to lament how smartphone usage has eroded the personal connection cultivated by live shows. The French electronic music icon recorded a video message in the wake of a recent performance at a club in Mykonos, which he highlighted as a "beautiful place." The energy and atmosphere of the show, he assumed, would be lively. Sinclar said his expectations were dashed, however, when he found the majority of attendees on the dancefloor remaining frozen in place, "completely dead" as they recorded on their smartphones. "I'm so depressed," Sinclar said, noting that the crowd remained still behind their phones even as he played his many generational dance hits, like the timeless "Love Generation." "It was the worst gig of my entire career," he added. View the original article to see embedded media. All hope wasn't lost, however, as Sinclar returned to Instagram days later to thank his fans in Cannes for joining him during a particularly exuberant outing at the Bâoli club. Sometimes, a wakeup call is all we need. Sinclar is one of many influential DJs to bemoan the recent surge in smartphone usage and its impact on the authenticity of club culture. Anyma, Damian Lazarus, Wavedash and the collaborative duo of James Hype and MEDUZA have advocated for digital detox efforts in nightlife, among others. Miami's iconic Club Space also implemented its first-ever no-phone policy for a 24-hour party in June. 10. We’ve been waiting on this one piece of blissful Trance for months. It’s finally ours. Ben Hemsley. This man took the Trance scene by storm — and for all the good reasons. Undoubtedly, his big break in the scene came with the release of ‘Erase Me’, a celestial Balearic Trance tune that once you listen to it, you cannot stop hitting the ‘Repeat’ button. Fast-forward a few years and Hemsley has become one of the younger figures in who we trust to restore Trance to its former glory. Initially a House aficionado, sometime in the past three years he went all-in on Trance. And not any kind of Trance: Classic Trance. Author of the aforementioned anthem, and other belters such as ‘IBIZA’ and ‘Closer’, label head of Bebé Recordings, and Armin’s chosen one to co-create the A State Of Trance 2025 anthem, Ben is reaching astronomical heights. And we couldn’t be more excited. ‘Tidal’ Inspired by the golden era of Trance, Ben Hemsley’s ‘Tidal’ featuring the vocals of Rose Gray is one of the year’s most anticipated releases, by a mile. The 10.5-minute-long track blends Classic Trance hallmarks with innovative soundscapes, all while Rose Gray’s ethereal voice adds an emotional layer to the narrative of a turbulent on-and-off relationship. If you told me this was a lost piece from 2001 and it’s been restored and released, I would 100% believe you. The vibe is so old-school in all the best ways possible. It’s glorious, and it has a soul. At last, a song that has a soul, and a true soul. Close your eyes, take a sixth of an hour off your duties, and let this beautiful composition fly you away. 11. Progressive Trance at its finest, ladies and gentlemen. The Digital Drift boys have done it again. What once started as an innocent collaboration between longtime pals Nitrous Oxide and Simon Gregory, worked so well that they ended up making a new alias for their conjoint releases. A common ground for both, the Digital Drift project has represented the solidification of a core and iconic sound in the Progressive Trance scene, finally addressed. What I mean to say is, being this the nth track I come across produced by them as a duo, I’ve finally been able to find that Progressive Trance sound everyone loved some years ago, and that the industry suddenly left behind to replace it with a sort of Peak-Time Techno, and then Melodic Techno hybrid. Even Classic Trance came back before anyone dared mop the dust off ye ole reliable Prog Trance. And I’m so glad Simon and Chris have not only revived this iconic sound but have also perfected it beyond limits. And how wouldn’t they? While Chris has been a veteran and pillar of Trance for close to 20 years, Simon has been at the very front of the genre for years, working closely with the guys at Mondo records, and landing Anjunabeats deals, among others. ‘Alone’ Digital Drift’s latest just came out today. ‘Alone’ just saw the light of day via FSOE Argento, and it’s carrying sizable momentum from the last weeks. Dan Stone, Argento label head, spun it a few weeks ago on his show, and after that came double support from Above & Beyond on their Group Therapy radioshow, back-to-back. Dark and powerful, ‘Alone’ is a track that pairs the best of the energy Progressive is known for, with the melody and heartfelt emotion of Trance.
