Armin Van Buuren’s ‘Pillars Of Creation’: The Future Of Festival Visuals
A couple months ago in the jaw dropping desert dunes of Ras Al Khaimah, Armin Van Buuren debuted his new ‘Pillars of Creation’ concept. This new concept for visuals is incredibly innovative and the full set has now been released unveiling this outstanding creation to the world. The stage is surrounded by huge LED-lit pillars with more pillars behind them for pyro which would all be great in of itself, but there’s more. Up in the sky the show is accompanied by nearly 800 drones fitted with lights creating some stunning imagery above the stage that really takes this concept to the next level. Armin Van Buuren has described this new visual direction as “the transformation of energy, sound and emotion. The show will take you on a journey through space and time, with a focus on growth, connection and creativity.” In the past few years visuals at festivals and clubs have been evolving rapidly with laser programming being taken to an insane level, the advent of 360-degree stages, and the marvel that is The Sphere in Las Vegas. Everywhere wants to have the newest and best visuals for their sets and now Armin Van Buuren and his team look to have made the next step with ‘Pillars of Creation.’ The inclusion of drones paired with the 360-degree stage could be the next trend to sweep festivals and in years to come may be a regular feature at events. As to where things will go with this new concept is yet to be seen, however ‘Pillars of Creation’ is an inspired idea that made for a very unique show in a time where it’s hard to stand out with everyone upping their game. It is a spellbinding experience that will be intriguing to see more of.

Tomorrowland Reveals Stage Hosts Ahead of Lineup Drop
Today Tomorrowland revealed its stage hosts and brands for 2025 along with the news that the full lineup would be dropping tomorrow morning. This year continued Tomorrowland’s move towards something more like what Insomniac has been doing. There is a greater emphasis on Tomorrowland’s in-house brands and the brands of Tomorrowland’s artists and fewer third-party labels that might outshine the festival itself. For the first year since 2017, there is no Afterlife at Tomorrowland. This reveal essentially ends the discussion on the future of Tale of Us, as there is no way Tomorrowland and Afterlife would part ways unless Tale of Us was no more. Now we await the announcement (sigh). Tomorrowland Brands We could possibly still see Anyma, but it would come under Tomorrowland’s own brands. The Tomorrowland brands are Atmosphere, Crystal Events, CORE, and Moose Bar. Initially, CORE was the only Tomorrowland stage that took on a life of its own outside of the festival, but in recent months Atmosphere has also expanded beyond the festival grounds and we could only expect to see something similar from Crystal Events as well. Next up are Tomorrowland’s adjacent artists and brands like Amber Broos, Andromedik Invites, Lost Frequencues & Friends, Smash The House (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike), and V Sessions (Yves V). Third-Party Brands Finally, we have plenty of new and returning third-party brands. Some exciting ones for 2025 include Indira Paganotto’s Art Core, FISHER’s Catch & Release Records, Amelie Lens Exhale, He She They, and Monstercat. Peep the full Stage Hosts listing below and stay tuned for the complete lineup drop tomorrow! The post Tomorrowland Reveals Stage Hosts Ahead of Lineup Drop appeared first on EDMTunes.

NATURE ONE Celebrates 30 Year Anniversary In 2025
From July 31 to August 3, 2025, a very special chapter in the festival’s history will be written at the former Pydna missile base: NATURE ONE is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the motto “Celebrating 30 Years”. In keeping with the 30th anniversary, the festival is supporting the Reiner Meutsch Foundation “FLY & HELP” with the construction of a school in Rwanda. Since 1995, the festival has stood for basic values such as freedom, tolerance and togetherness and has been committed to charitable projects at home and abroad for over 15 years. In cooperation with Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V., various well projects have already been realized in Uganda. For the 30th anniversary of the festival, another important step is now being taken: the construction of a school in Rwanda in cooperation with the aid organization FLY & HELP. The targeted donation target of EUR 50,000 for the construction of the school with three classrooms, cistern and toilets was recently reached. The school building is now due to be completed in May. “We are incredibly proud that the NATURE ONE community has supported us so extensively with donations for this project and that we can complete the construction of the school before our 30th anniversary,” says Oliver Vordemvenne from I-Motion. NATURE ONE began in August 1995, when the first open-air rave took place at Hahn Airport with 13,000 enthusiastic dancers. In the years that followed, the number of visitors increased continuously and the festival quickly developed into one of the largest and most famous of its kind in Germany. The Pydna festival location in Kastellaun now includes a campsite the size of more than 50 football fields. Over 350 international DJs play on 22 floors and create a boundless sense of community. Further information and tickets are available on the official website: www.nature-one.de. i

Skrillex to return at Ultra Miami after 10 years
Skrillex is returning to Ultra, and already we can sense the seismic waves this will cause over Miami’s concrete jungle come March 2025. Get your tickets now. Allow us to visualize the events about to transpire. At Bayfront Park ten years of artistic development, technical innovation, and creative evolution will come together. Having seen the evolution of electronic music over the previous ten years, we can tell you – this is not merely another festival booking. This is history still to be written. The way it all turned out was pure poetry: Ultra’s birthday wish to Sonny Moore, his enigmatic “See you in March,” answered. But what’s coming is anything from subdued. We see a set that will redefine electronic music performance’s possibilities. This is the rationale: Having declared his final project with Atlantic Records, Skrillex is not just returning to Ultra but also as an artist on the verge of independence. Together with his recent creative rebirth—remember those back-to-back albums that rocked us in 2023—this freedom points to something extraordinary about to be revealed. From the bone-crushing dubstep that made him a legend to the genre-bending complexity of his most recent work, we are expecting a set spanning time. More than that, though, we are looking forward to shocks that will make us mute. Imagine an unexpected b2b with Four Tet or an unplanned jam with deadmau5 during his retro5pective set, then consider natural collaborations with the outstanding roster of the event. Looking forward, this performance might signal the start of a new era of electronic music. Ultra 2025 might be where we first hear the sounds that will characterize the next decade of dance music, as Skrillex teases new material and hints at a reinvented approach to releasing music. His latest pieces on reevaluating business systems and streamlining music distribution point to us not only getting a DJ performance but also a window into the direction of electronic music culture. The 25th anniversary of Ultra (lineup), Skrillex’s decade-long solo hiatus, and the absurd lineup (Gesaffelstein, Carl Cox, that Anyma b2b Solomun set that’s going to melt faces) – all coming together like a perfect storm. March 2025 will be a turning point where past and present clash in a sonic and innovative explosion, not only another celebration. Rich DietZ and bradeazy Transform MGMT's "Kids" Into Synth-Soaked House Anthem
Between the worlds of indie nostalgia and contemporary club culture, Rich DietZ and bradeazy have built a sonic bridge worth crossing with their edit of MGMT's "Kids." They've landed on Hood Politics Records with the euphoric track, a testament to how electronic music can breathe new life into beloved songs without losing their emotional core. Their rework of the band's synth-soaked classic transforms the familiar into fresh territory, crafting a house music odyssey that pays homage while charting its own course. Rich DietZ and bradeazy demonstrate a keen understanding of both source material and modern dance floor dynamics, weaving the original's ageless melody into a propulsive framework built for peak-time energy. The producers' emphasis on the track's melody serves as an anchor point, a clever bridge between past and present that gives ravers a familiar touchstone amid their thundering beats. Where MGMT's version captured youthful nostalgia through indie-rock, their edit recontextualizes that spirit for today's generation. All said and done, it's a reminder that sometimes the best way forward is to look back. Take a listen below. The track arrives after a breakout year for Rich DietZ, the surging house music duo out of Florida. 2024 saw high-profile performances at North Coast Festival, Breakaway Festival and the Amsterdam Dance Event, the world's leading electronic music summit, among others. The duo's hit remix of A$AP Ferg's "Work" alongside Proppa and Smith & Sorren also continues to dominate dancefloors across the world, receiving support from Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, Alesso, Kaskade, Diplo and many more. Based in LA, bradeazy also had a big year, throwing down at renowned clubs like Las Vegas' Zouk and Miami's E11EVEN. He's now poised for a 2025 DJ residency at Atlantic City's Premier Nightclub. Will Spotify or Apple Acquire Sonus?
Audio equipment manufacturer Sonos is facing growing speculation about a potential acquisition following a recent leadership shakeup and declining market value. The company, known for its high-end wireless speakers, has seen its stock price plummet, with its market capitalization now hovering around $1.7 billion, a significant drop from its pandemic peak of over $5 billion. The departure of CEO Patrick Spence and Chief Product Officer Maxime Bouvat-Merlin last week has intensified discussions about potential buyers. Bloomberg’s Mark Gurman points to Spotify and Amazon as the most likely suitors, each offering unique advantages. Amazon: Gurman believes Amazon is “the most natural fit,” especially with the recent appointment of former Microsoft executive Panos Panay to lead hardware development. Acquiring Sonos could significantly bolster Amazon’s Echo device lineup with premium audio technology. However, regulatory hurdles, similar to those faced during its attempted acquisition of iRobot, could pose a challenge. Spotify: As a European company, Spotify might face fewer regulatory obstacles. Acquiring Sonos would grant Spotify immediate entry into the hardware market, a long-sought goal. While Spotify previously ventured into hardware with the Car Thing, the product was ultimately discontinued due to limited market demand. Other Contenders: Other potential buyers include Samsung Electronics, which could strengthen its home audio offerings, and Roku, though a stock-based deal might be necessary due to Roku’s limited cash reserves. The Bloomberg chief correspondent added that while larger tech companies like Apple, Google, and Meta could be potential buyers, they are unlikely candidates due to existing strategies and past relationships with Sonos. Motorcycle Crash In Thailand Inspires Beltran's New Track, "Banyan Tree"
When life hits you with a reality so bizarre it feels like fiction, some artists pick up a pen, but Beltran picked up a synthesizer. The Brazilian DJ and producer recently turned a near-fatal experience in Thailand into a sonic journey of its own. He's now opened up about the unnerving story behind his new track, "Banyan Tree (Thai Mix)." It all began with a motorcycle crash in Phuket that left Beltran hospitalized with broken bones, stitches and, as he humorously recalls, stolen flip-flops. The ordeal reached its fever pitch when he found himself in a chaotic taxi ride back to his hotel—barefoot and shaken, yet somehow inspired. "The story was so insane I had to do a track of it," Beltran said in an Instagram post. View the original article to see embedded media. With a vocoded voice delivering the lyrics, the track plunges listeners into an arrangement where pumping percussion collides with acid-tinged basslines and industrial soundscapes. The synths, plotting and deliberate, seem to reflect the chaos of his journey as if asking, "Is this really happening?" You can listen to the new track below and download it for free here. Pete Tong Confirms More Anyma Sphere Shows
We’ve been bamboozled, in the best way possible. After an incredible, history-making residency at the Sphere in Las Vegas, Anyma may be returning to “End of Genesys” even sooner than we anticipated! The news, or leak, came at the hands of none other than BBC Radio 1’s Pete Tong. Anyma sat for a lengthy interview (listen in full at the link) about his new single and about much more. The interview touched on how ‘Hypnotized’ was made from beginning to end, explaining that Goulding started the process by sending over the acapella which Anyma loved. An interesting segway talked about Anyma’s debut show at Printworks in 2022. Matteo explained that during that show about 80% of the planned visual production failed to work, but the audience’s overwhelmingly positive reaction to the 20% was enough to guide the project forward. The artist then explains that contrary to most artists, he plans the music and the visuals together as one cohesive whole. Residency Extension The surprise announcement happened during Tong’s Radio 1 HQ Show the week of January 11th, when the host mentioned Anyma’s historic residency in Las Vegas. Before Tong plays the chosen tune of the week ‘Hypnotized’ featuring Ellie Goulding, he includes her appearance as a special guest for “End of Genesys”. He carries on, acknowledging the massive success of the show. Furtherly, he confirms that due to the overwhelming success of the event, even though it ended that weekend, more shows will be added. However Pete Tong’s claims have neither been denied nor confirmed by official sources. Nevertheless, the speculations are as high as ever, as there have been rumors of Tale of Us potentially splitting up this year, as both Anyma and MRAK continuously work on their solo projects. The extension of this residency would prove once again that the Italian DJ and producer Anyma is in a league of its own when it comes to audiovisual events, which have captivated hundreds of thousands of listeners worldwide. Las Vegas, continuously becoming an epicenter of EDM, has recently announced major residencies. The Wynn Hotel alone confirmed Odesza, Sofi Tukker, and Subtronics as major residencies for this summer. An End of Genesys Pt. II during the summer would heal the world. It would mean potentially new tracks and visuals, new guest live performers, and more robotic cellos! Although it’s really looking up for Anyma, we will closely monitor this developing news. All in all, The Sphere revealed its next residency to be the Country act Kenny Chesney, starting in May. Past last year residencies included U2 and The Eagles. Anyma was the very first EDM artist to play there, and set the bar extremely high. Will he go for more? Stay tuned! The post Pete Tong Confirms More Anyma Sphere Shows appeared first on EDMTunes.
