LSZEE Takes Over Brooklyn Mirage For Increible Experience
LSZEE has exploded onto the scene this past year. The duo comprised of LSDream and CloZee is bringing a new wave of bass music to our ears. After taking over Red Rocks for 2 sold-out nights, they took their experience to the famous Brooklyn Mirage. For 2 hours, bass fans were treated to more than wubs. We had the pleasure of listening to a stacked lineup comprised of Daily Bread, Tripp St., A Hundred Drums, and Jordan Moody. It was hypnotic and trippy and filled with grooves all over. The openers and closers were phenomenal and set the stage perfectly. LSZEE showed off their first album together self-titled LSZEE. The 13-track album is impressive and diverse. It is a beautiful combination of their signature sounds. As LSDream said on stage, Cloozee is his “Spirit Sister” and you could feel it. LSZEE It was wonderful seeing these two grace the stage. LSDream and CloZee are experts in their genres and together they are so much more. It really is the perfect combo of heavy yet funky bass combined with ethnic-infused sounds. I saw both of them separately for the first time at Elements this year and was thoroughly impressed. Seeing duos sometimes feels off but this felt perfectly right. They are spiritually made for each other and you could see it on stage. The two played all of their classics plus their album of course. They left fans happy with ‘PEACE LOVE & WUBS’, ‘FRENCH DREAM’, ‘WOOK WHISTLE’, and ‘NIGHTHAWK’. I cannot wait to see these two again, whether it be together or separately. I feel spiritually connected with them after this year. The post LSZEE Takes Over Brooklyn Mirage For Increible Experience appeared first on EDMTunes.

Sama Abdulhadi Calls Out Kamal Harris For Unauthorized Use of Her Image in Campaign Aid
In an election year, it’s somewhat common to see musical artists calling out political candidates for using their music in political ads or political rallies. More often than not, those instances involve music other than electronic dance music and usually involving calling out a Republican candidate. This time, techno DJ Sama Abdulhadi is calling out the Kamala Harris Campaign for unauthorized use of her name, image, and likeness in a campaign ad. Apparently, the Harris Campaign posted an ad called “Like Detroit” which included footage of Sama performing at Detroit’s Movement Festival in an attack on her opponent, Donald Trump. The DJ took to Instagram and posted a statement: “The use of this footage was unauthorized and done without my consent. The use of this footage implies that I endorse Vice President Harris’ presidential candidacy, which is totally and utterly false. It is deeply offensive to my social, moral, and political beliefs and is misleading political advertising by VP Harris’ Presidential Campaign. For the avoidance of doubt, I do not endorse, nor have I ever endorsed, Vice President Harris, and I am taking the necessary legal steps to ensure that this video is promptly retracted, to dispel any notion of an association between myself and VP Harris’ campaign for the us Presidency.” The post Sama Abdulhadi Calls Out Kamal Harris For Unauthorized Use of Her Image in Campaign Aid appeared first on EDMTunes.

Lubalin adds to debut album rollout with fifth single, ‘dog’
Lubalin is continuing the rollout to his debut album with a contemplative new single, “dog.” Serving as the fifth extension from his upcoming debut album haha, no worries, “dog” brings introspective lyrics from the multi-talented singer-songwriter-producer together with a gliding production backdrop. Lubalin had explained that he loves the single “because it’s actually secretly a sad piano ballad disguised as a big pop drum & bass song. [He] wrote it on the piano originally but when [he] was working on the album, [he] was exploring so many different iterations that I figured I’d try this song in the DnB sound that was emerging. After turning stone after stone, banging my head against it, something just clicked, and the whole thing just came to life. It went from a demo [he] almost cut out from the album twice to one of [his] favorite songs.” The Canadian has achieved notoriety through his internet drama-inspired parody videos on TikTok. The vitality of his posts helped to land him spots on The Tonight Show with Jimmy Fallon and The Kelly Clarkson Show to name a couple. However, his social media success—of course— does not define who he is as an artist, with the multi-talented producer having released music dating back to 2020 and a discography that includes his 2022 EP, whose love. “dog” comes on the heels of previously released singles “bullet time,” “trust issues,” “you know me,” and “just love.” And Lubalin’s debut album haha, no worries is scheduled for release on December 6. Rave Soul Aficionado and Producer Cronofios Deeply ‘Connected’ to Audience with Latest Infatuating Project
Cronofios‘ latest single and video, Connected To Love, from the debut album Connected, introduces a groundbreaking blend of fashion and music designed to resonate in these challenging times. Created by Miguel Mas, the mastermind behind Cronofios and the Cronofios Club. The Album Connected is a unique fusion of electric pop and dance music aimed at uplifting the soul with a sense of freedom. The album marks the beginning of Cronofios‘ journey in the music world, setting the stage for what promises to be a cultural movement. The concept of Connected To Love, the album’s lead single, intertwines music, fashion, and cosmic storytelling, with the video depicting an alien named Cronofios on a mission to connect with a human, Misael, in a nightclub. As the music and lights merge, Misael experiences a journey through his past lives, ultimately becoming one with Cronofios, symbolizing a deep connection to love. Supported by a talented team of artists and producers, including Grammy-winning Rafa Sardina, Connected is an album poised to establish Cronofios as a leading force in the Rave Soul movement. Cronofios is Born to Dance. Cronofios is more than just a name—it’s an otherworldly concept born from the cosmos. The name Cronofios originates from the ALIENS, signifying a group of children who simultaneously create art and play. The essence of Cronofios was discovered high above Puerto Rico, where a frequency caught the attention of this cosmic being. Drawn to the joyous energy of a group of humans working on a film together, Cronofios materialized among them. Introduced by the main human as if they had always been connected, Cronofios represents a universal collective of playful, creative spirits known as the “Cronofios Club.” Their story is a blend of art, play, and cosmic connection, transcending the ordinary and inviting others to join in the universal joy of creation. Which is a collaboration of artists. Cronofios is more than just a name—it’s an otherworldly concept born from the cosmos. Yes, in my family my parents always were listen music and then my brothers and sisters. I grow up with sounds of soft rock, flamenco, spanish folklore, romantic latin pop, and then I heard Soda Stereo and Miguel Mateos, from Argentina, where I am from. And they blow my mind… What kickstarted your music career? To be honest, I was always a frustrated Dj, and then the pandemic hit and being in the independent industry film field, everything stopped at that moment. So, I went crazy thinking and I created a concept about fashion and music, and I thought if I do a clothing line, I need a nice beat for my promos, so then I start writing my first song that now is number 4 in the album, the song is called “Dancing In My Place” which I released as single and then make remixes releasing as EP, everything during the pandemic. Then my idea of making an Album was in my head for a long time. Lucky since a met a great professionals that help me to build the concept. DMA (Daniel Morales Arancibia) the master Dj from Chile jump in the project and we create the amazing beats and as a songwriter I created everything how I want it and delivery to them. The singers are incredible there and the mixing process and mastering with Richard Fernando in Argentina was the touch part to sound I want it, and last but not least the pushing help work from Rafa Sardina (19-Time Grammy® & Latin Grammy® Winner Producer/Mixer/Engineer) which I called him my friend mentor now, who guide me in this field, he mixed the first song Dancing In MY Place. Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time I truly believe that music is a circle in our lives, so one day we hear a song from a classic rock and the next day a classical music and then we wake up we a dance song in our head. So, sound and beats are frequencies, at least for me, that create magic and for some reason, even listen to a new song, it reminded me a song from the past, even if the song has a similar beat or something came as a memory, my beat sound in Cronofios is a transition from today’s music to the 90’s and even 80’s dance electric pop, which it can be a variation of alternative music, even for me, it is an alternative music. It will be a blend of that time and the now. Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers? What intrigues me more is how we, as artists, we think we can do something else, and forget about art, and then after time, you realize that you need to create again, start again, saying this is; I encourage to don’t wait for a right time that you think you will be recognize, keep going, keep working, only working in your art will make you win, winning as creator, fulfilling your soul. No necessary wining an award. So, keep shining! How do you nurture your industry relationships? In these days it become more difficult for independent artists to get in touch with the “industry” or to be heard, what I do is, “making noises here and there”, through social media, and my channels to see if someone, one day will open a door to be able to live as artists, not living two lives, as I called it when we have two jobs. Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey? I can thank myself, because only myself truly believe what I am able to, talking about be recognized by the industry and making your art known. So, yes, my self, even it can be sound as ego, but I am so far form that. Name 3 songs you love and what they mean to you + Youtube links Keep Shining — sometimes a simple words can make you going. Connected to Love – what else can be better then be connected to love Thirsty Thursday – When you ended a relationship and you feel that you need to keep going this song makes me start walking again and be free. What’s your favourite piece of studio equipment or software? Pro Tools for film and music. When the steps are moving forward. Name your favourite club or festival and how it makes you feel Odesza The Last Goodbye tour – Is the last one I saw in Los Angeles and blow my mind. Name an outlandish rider request? Show my work of Cronofios at a music festival where the sound and visuals are properly connected. Favourite clubbing memory and who or what did it involve? Joy Eslava Madrid – It was the 90’s. The music and ambient mixing the different floors. What famous quote represents you best? We should act through our own experiences and direct with our own wisdom and understanding of the story, by Miguel Mas 🙂 If you could play at any venue, where would it be and why? Tomorrowland – Bring the artists that collaborate in Cronofios to a show like Tomorrowland will close many dreams showing the frequencies and sense of who we are. One song you really couldn’t live without and why? Puente by Gustavo Cerati Namedrop your favourite 5 artists or DJs (past or present) Madonna, Gustavo Cerati, Tiesto, ATB, Sash! What was your first music memory and how did it fuel your fire? Soda Stereo – it hit me because it was my childhood and my opening to life awareness. Tell us more about your plans for the future Right now finishing the pre-production of the rest of the music videos for Cronofios Album Connected. I am going to shot in Argentina, Mendoza, my town and I create/write a connected story of each music video in a film format, as you can see one video separate and the story has a beginning and end, and if you see the whole videos together will give you a full story of the same characters. Warning Issued In The UK For Strong MDMA Pills, Several Hospitalized
A UK-based drug charity, The Loop, has issued a warning about unusually strong MDMA pills circulating in the UK. Several recent hospitalizations have prompted the charity to urge clubbers to be cautious. Test results from various batches of pills — Pink Timberlands, Purple Louis Vuittons and Purple Pop Smokes — revealed that one in four pills contained significantly more MDMA than a typical adult dose. In fact, double the standard adult dose, which means 200mg of the substance. Fabric nightclub in London has also issued a statement urging patrons to prioritize their health and seek assistance if they feel unwell. The club’s welfare team is available to provide support and advice. “Significantly raised temperature, excessive sweating, muscle rigidity, and non-responsiveness or seizure” are all symptoms to be aware of. “A typical heavy/strong dose is around 200mg“, Fabric say, “but some of these pills are reported to contain over 300mg which creates a strong overdose risk. If in doubt, please don’t take it“. In recent months, The Loop has issued multiple warnings about the strength of drugs circulating in the UK. They launched the UK’s first regular drug-checking service in January and have alerted the public to concerns about counterfeit benzos and strong MDMA pills. How borne Became a Beacon of Musical Authenticity In the Age of "Dopamine Hit Content"
How can today's generation of electronic music producers stay authentic in a highly saturated market? In the age of social media, when viral content strategies and hollow traffic-drivers often take precedence, borne urges artists to remember the importance of the music itself. "I notice that people crank out a few songs and then immediately go to the marketing or pushing it on on TikTok," borne tells EDM.com. "I think people forget that the most important part is the music and creating a story." The 22-year-old breakout's hot take on music production? Today's artists need to "let the music speak for itself." "There's a lot of 'dopamine hit' content, which gets people interested for a certain amount of time, but then they lose the engagement," he explains. "Trying to create a story and focus on the production itself is the most important part." With so much content constantly bidding for attention in an endless stream of ads and memes, today's listeners struggle to focus for more than a few seconds. So he felt it was paramount to call his music pseudonym something classic and timeless, ultimately turning to his own last name to derive his pseudonym. "I was trying to find something that I wouldn’t regret in five years," he says with a laugh. He felt a humbling, full-circle moment wash over him in May, when he was featured in a mix by the deeply influential UKF brand. As a teen, UKF's releases framed his approach to electronic music through the lens of timeless tunes from dubstep luminaries like Zeds Dead. Being featured in a mix alongside the iconic duo made it even more meaningful, he said. He then dropped his thumping, 140 BPM dubstep heater "Control" via UKF in September. The artist's exposure to electronic music in his early teens "turned on the curiosity factor," inspiring him to play with Virtual DJ and ultimately buy his first controller. From there, he started experimenting with music production around age 14. A Montréal native, borne attended the city's beloved ÎleSoniq Music Festival but had never went to any other major fests until Shambhala last summer. That event also happened to be where he played his debut DJ set. He says he was initially drawn to rave culture because it sets the stage for a full spectrum of unlimited self-expression and creativity. He also felt inspired by the level of teamwork involved in taking the overall vision of an event from an idea to reality. In order to produce a successful event, an array of factors have to meet at a creative collision point, including visual art, sound and stage production. That process intrigued him. When analyzing festival culture and the overall spirit of dance music, borne said he's enthralled by the "family tree" of influences that stem from industry pioneers who paved the way for EDM and its subgenres, creating a textured web of innovation and interconnectedness. View the original article to see embedded media. Those layers of innovation and inspiration ultimately led him to heavily experiment with his style and sound in the past eight years. "When I first started, I used to just stack stuff and have a bunch of layers because it made it feel bigger and louder. Over time, I learned that less is more," he explains, laughing about the "chaotic" start to his discography. "I experimented with everything, and I think that’s important for every producer to do," he adds. "Dip your toes into everything and then see what you really enjoy doing." Now, borne describes his signature sound as "minimal" and "bass-oriented." His goal is to infuse every arrangement with a heavy dose of intention, from the bass to the percussion and everything in between. The producer's work is paying dividends. His style has led him to major performances, like an upcoming headline set for Atlanta's DEF collective, and collaborations with some of bass music's biggest names. Of all his recent collabs, he says his unreleased track with PEEKABOO, one of EDM.com's best music producers of 2023, means the most. "I've been getting more into 140, deep dubstep style, which is one of [PEEKABOO's] specialties. It's always nice working with like-minded producers," he said about producing the hotly anticipated ID. "It was like, let's just make whatever and make it natural. I was also really grateful he brought me to be a part of the Denver show at Mission Ballroom. For him to bring me out for that and share love and support, I was so appreciative." View the original article to see embedded media. When peering into his metaphorical crystal ball, borne embraces change for the music industry, like the influx of AI. He said he can imagine certain AI applications benefitting young, aspiring music producers. "It would be cool to use AI for project breakdowns, like showing how a song was made or how the individual sounds were made. If tech like that was a tool when I was younger and trying to learn, it would have been extremely beneficial because you’d learn faster, as opposed to just figuring out yourself." He's aware, however, of the nefarious aspects of generative AI in the music production world. "The whole point of music is the humanized effect," he explains. "You see how many different options and sounds there are, because it’s through our ears and it's very personalized. If someone goes about making music through AI, it's going to be algorithmic and you can see exactly what's going to happen. The possibilities aren't as endless in that sense. I do feel like people will recognize the humanized songs, but we'll see." Leaving aspiring producers with one last piece of advice, borne says it's crucial to "take lessons out of failed attempts." "I'm a firm believer that the music speaks for itself," he says. "Remember, even if it sounds bad, the whole process you went through to make that song has probably taught you a lot. Try to find small wins. It doesn't always have to be about like the end result. Try to create a story for people to follow alongside the music." Jimpster has decided to dust off his Loxodrome cap
Drop Out EP by Loxodrome Almost exactly 30 years ago in 1994 Jamie Odell released his Loxodrome EP on legendary London label Jumpin & Pumpin, a release that has since gone onto receive a lot of love and attention and got reissued by Craigie Knowes sub label Wormhole Wisdom back in 2020. Fast forward three decades and Jamie aka Jimpster has decided to dust off his Loxodrome cap, and now we’re happy to present you with the fruits of his studio sessions in the form of The Drop Out EP. The title track treads a much darker, more minimal path than we’re used to hearing on his Jimpster or Franc Spangler releases. Aimed fairly and squarely at the dance floor, Drop Out goes heavy on squelching, modular synth sequences which build around a stripped back jacking drum groove. Jamie’s trusty Juno 106 gets dusted off to provide the chunky bassline and ominous pads which are interjected with a trippy vocal sample and white noise fills. Emberfall follows in fine style with saturated 808 drums and 303 acid line taking centre stage. Overall, an optimistic and uplifting atmosphere emits from the speakers, heightened by the Juno string chords, taking inspiration from classic 90’s Italian Dream House. Flipping over we have a dub version of Emberfall which loses the pads and stabs in favour of dub delays and extra snare fills for a more impactful and minimal acidic club workout. Closing out the EP things get lush as Jamie heads into deep, late night electro territory on Fornax A. Memories of Black dog and B12 are channeled through the layers of filtering synths and glitchy breakbeats and are inspired by his production approach and Atari ST running C Lab Creator and Akai S900 – the tools at his disposal when producing his debut Loxodrome EP all those years ago. Just over a month after the release of their highly praised album Kiss and Forget, electronic music powerhouse WhoMadeWho is back with a remix of their collaborative track ‘Heartless’ with Kölsch, reimagined by the talented Italian duo Fideles. This marks the first official remix of “Heartless” and continues the band’s streak of high-profile collaborations and accolades. ‘Heartless’ (Fideles Remix) The Fideles remix of ‘Heartless’ takes a track that blends the styles of WhoMadeWho and Kölsch into an effortlessly beautiful work that creates a calming atmosphere, and livens it up while staying true to its roots. The Italian duo replaces the gentle kick with a punchier, more dynamic beat, infusing the track with their signature grandeur and elevating it to new heights. Fideles offered some words in regards to their remix: “We’ve long admired WMW and Kölsch for their emotive musical journeys. When allowed to remix a track from their album, “Heartless” immediately stood out to us. During a creative session in Ibiza, we found the perfect way to blend their vision of the track with our sound.“ “…The result is a remix that honors the original while bringing our unique touch. We’re also very thrilled with how it’s been received in the industry by our peers and. on the dance floors–it’s a special moment when our remix connects with so many people from different walks of life” Fideles The Fideles remix joins an impressive roster of remixes from ‘Kiss and Forget’. These include works by CamelPhat, Adam Ten, INNELLEA, and Mind Against & Dyzen. WhoMadeWho fans can look forward to more, with an upcoming remix by Alex Wann and an official remix EP on the horizon. WhoMadeWho’s recent success extends beyond the studio. The trio clinched the “Best Organic House” award at the 2024 DJ Awards in Ibiza earlier this month, adding to their “Best Live Performer” accolade from the 2024 Beatport Awards in May. These honors, coupled with the release of Kiss and Forget, underscore WhoMadeWho’s unstoppable momentum. The Music Video WhoMadeWho has unveiled a series of captivating music videos to accompany each track on ‘Kiss and Forget’. It was directed by Berlin-based talent Thomas Kuhn with creative direction by Polina Vinogradova. These visual pieces form a kaleidoscopic journey through time, emotion, and human connection. The videos serve as a unique narrative tapestry. Moreover, it weaves together the album’s themes of nostalgia, eternal youth, and the ephemeral nature of relationships. These melodic titans definitely have a lot of heart. Here is ‘Heartless; (Fideles Remix): The post WhoMadeWho Enlists Fideles for a Remix of ‘Heartless’ appeared first on EDMTunes.

fabric presents Laurent Garnier: celebrating 25 years of fabric
Laurent Garnier is joining the ‘fabric presents’ mix series, and details are now out on this bespoke milestone release. The trailblazing DJ and producer is doing not one but four mixes as he embraces an opportunity to go even bigger for the London institution in its 25th groundbreaking year. A full-spectrum and multi-genre release, there’s a UK-focus, house, techno and downtempo mix. In his words, “diversity makes it richer, makes it better.” Eager to pay homage to the vitality of club culture, his vision is to take us through a rapturous weekend at fabric from Friday through to the afters. Making it even more unique, he’s also dropping an original four-track EP – one track per genre. Garnier: “Clubs have been my second home since the start of my career. Once you’ve witnessed that unique connection you can create in a club with a crowd, once you’ve experienced it from behind the decks, you just know you are where you’re meant to be. This special journey with fabric is of course a tribute to the legendary London club – a place that’s been a home to so many clubbers, DJs and music-lovers for so many years – but most of all, a tribute to all the dancefloors and all the clubs around the world.” Ploughing through hundreds of records a day, it’s no surprise to hear Garnier describe the track selection process as being “complicated”. His enriching trip through fabric spans over five hours with each mix coming in at 1 hour 20 minutes. Across all four, it’s clear that he’s immersed in the present and future-focussed with a majority of the chosen records dropping only in the last three years. The House Odyssey mix kicks off with afro house via South African producer Mr. Blasé, and the vibrancy continues through cuts from Cape Verde to Chicago as newer faces Culoe De Song, Neinzer and Tal Fussman meet linchpins DJ Spen, DJ Lady D and Mike Dunn. In techno, his Rhythmic Resonance mix is searing with high impact moments from Red Axes, John Tejada, Electric Rescue, Works of Intent, and himself as three of his own epic productions feature. A UK-focus underpins Garnier’s nod to fabric’s fervent bass devotees with the Into The Low-End sessionfeaturing Skrillex, MC GQ, Sami Virji and Martin Badder. On The Way Home sidles up to clubbers for a downtempo dust down with stunning explorations from Daudi Matsiko, Adriano Koch, Richie Culver and Melody Gardot, among others. His EP further showcases his mastery of genres. Luminous house cut ‘Odyssée Maison’ is in for spirited dancefloor grabs with Dan Diamond on vocals, while ‘Resonances From The D’ is for techno heads, glued together with tumbling rhythms, soaring synths and scattering hi-hats. ‘Playing With The Low-End’ is the bass-doused maze that looms large before ‘On The Way Home’ brings a shower of orbiting synths. One for collectors, especially as the uniquely-packaged deluxe vinyl and CD are limited editions, it drops as physical-only on 29th November. The deluxe LP includes a bespoke box, coloured vinyl of the mixes and 12” EP and a picture booklet of Garnier. The CD comes with embossed ‘25 Years of fabric’ aluminium cases and the booklet.
