  1. A Las Vegas resident by the name of James Kay, has filed a lawsuit against the Las Vegas Sphere venue, alleging excessive noise levels that have disrupted his quality of life. The lawsuit, filed in Clark County District Court, targets the Sphere’s operators and Clark County for approving a waiver allowing the venue to exceed county sound limits. Kay, a resident of Park Towers, claims that the Sphere’s loud sound tests, which began in July, have caused significant disturbances, including rattling windows and disrupting peace and quiet. He alleges that the Sphere did not have the necessary permits to conduct these tests and subsequently obtained a waiver from Clark County through a controversial process. The lawsuit seeks damages for property rights violations, noise pollution, and other related harms. Kay argues that the Sphere’s noise levels exceed acceptable limits and negatively impact the surrounding neighborhood. On the contrary, a statement from the Sphere claims Kay is a man known for frequenting legal matters: “Mr. Kay is a litigious individual who has a history of filing numerous lawsuits in different states covering everything from taxes to a refusal to grant him a weapons permit“. The lawsuit reads: “At the time that the Sphere started blasting loud music, the Sphere did not have any governmental approval to do the same and Sphere’s subsequent application to Clark County admitted as such. Thereafter, the Sphere applied for a waiver to the applicable noise ordinances. The Sphere engaged certain nearby homeowner associations and property owners to seek conditions for the ability to blast loud music at certain levels throughout the year (and throughout certain times during the day) with additional decibel levels and timings for 18 or so days throughout the year.“ [H/T] Review Journal The post Las Vegas Man Sues Sphere Over Noise Complaints appeared first on EDMTunes.

  7. Crazy P announce their ninth studio album Any Signs Of Love with the emotive lead single ‘Human After All’. The full album arrives on the 29th of November, via Walk Don’t Walk in association with !K7 Music. Completed earlier this summer, before the passing of beloved frontwoman Danielle Moore, Any Signs of Love is the culmination of three decades of unforgettable live performances, deep friendship and above all, incredible music. With the loss of Danielle, and the outpouring of love that followed, the announcement of Any Signs Of Love, has taken on a profound new meaning. While previous albums including A Night On Earth and Walk Dance Talk Sing, have focused on their accomplished musicianship, and how the tight-knit collective grew in confidence with each new record and live show, Any Signs Of Love is now also a celebration of a remarkable life. Known for her magnetic energy, soulful voice, and the unfiltered joy she brought to the stage, Danielle was not only the heart of Crazy P but also an icon of boundless creativity, community, and love in the electronic music world. This new album serves as both a tribute to Danielle’s life and a gift to the fans who have loved her, danced with her, and felt her spirit resonate from dancefloors to festival stages worldwide. The albums’ 10-tracks also honour an incredible 25 year friendship with fellow bandmates Chris Todd and Jim Baron. From their after-party first meeting in late 90s Manchester, and their first studio session together in Jim’s bedroom, to completing the band with bassist Tim Davies and drummer Matt Klose, disco aficionados Crazy P have come a long way. Over three decades Crazy P have built a devout following, playing the world’s most respected stages including Glastonbury, Love International, Glitterboxx Ibiza, and recently joined Roisin Murphy on tour, all while racking up streaming figures in their millions. On their first album in five years, Crazy P deliver everything fans expect from a band of their stature – whose catalogue has built a loyal, multi-generational following and is equally at home soundtracking sweaty basement clubs, and outdoor raves, as it is on festival stages. Lead single ‘Human After All’, is the perfect introduction – a feel good, sultry groover, bedecked with italo-y arps, Balearic pianos, and Danielle’s captivating vocals. From the anthemic ‘The Revolution Will Not Be Anything’, to the Italo-esque title track, and the psychedelia of ‘Not Too Late’, Any Signs of Love contains all the core ingredients of the Crazy P magic: grooves galore, hooks, and the electrifying presence of charismatic leader, Danielle Moore. Any Signs of Love is a final love letter from Danielle Moore to her fans—a reminder that love remains, even in loss. Skillfully meshing the original track’s iconic components with their signature sound, the duo has crafted a remix that seamlessly honors the essence of all artists involved. During production, they tested the track live and it received outstanding feedback. 11. In a time when electronic music sometimes seems caught between commercial accessibility and underground authenticity, Fritz Kalkbrenner‘s ‘Third Place‘ is a brilliant link between worlds. Released on November 1, 2024, the album is a careful investigation of what makes public places so essential to our collective experience, not just another compilation of party music. The Changing Character of a Sound Those who know Kalkbrenner’s path from his breakout song “Sky & Sand” (with brother Paul) would approach “Third Place” hoping more of the soulful electronics that made him a household name. They will find, nonetheless, an artist who has both respected his traditions and boldly entered uncharted ground. Inspired by the sociological idea of “third places,” those essential venues where community and creativity collide, the album’s title shows to be more than just smart naming. The first single “Into the Night” is the ideal portal into this changed sound. While Kalkbrenner’s unique vocals give that human touch, which is sometimes lacking in modern dance music, its Chicago house-inspired chords feel both nostalgic and contemporary. The production is sharp and lively, with a groove that strikes a challenging balance between club-ready and emotionally evocative — something Kalkbrenner appears to do naturally. One of the more daring passages on the record, “The Telepath” marks a break from Kalkbrenner’s customary field of influence. Though it surprises long-time listeners, the track’s breakbeat basis is executed with such conviction that it feels more like a natural development than a trend-chasing attempt. Here we can hear how Kalkbrenner’s live performances have shaped his studio work, with arrangements that seem meant for fresh life in a concert venue. Another peak comes from working with Coach Harrison on “Playing Games“. The song seems like a real conversation between artists rather than just including a guest vocalist. One of the most immediately interesting moments on the record, the connection is evident and finds a great mix between artistic integrity and accessibility. Emotional Depth in the Digital Era ‘Third Place’ distinguishes itself from many of its modern electronic releases in part with its emotional intelligence. Thanks to its catchy choruses, “It Ain’t Over” might be gathering streams; nevertheless, under its commercial appeal is a sophisticated awareness of dance music’s ability for emotional storytelling. Every component supports the emotional core of the song; the production never feels overdone. Tracks “High Line” and “Home” with more techno orientation show Kalkbrenner’s fluency in speaking several electronic dialects. These are completely realized visions that highlight his adaptability without sacrificing his unique voice, not just genre exercises. When the drums must strike powerfully, there is always room for melody and mood to grow. Pete Tong’s ear was piqued at BBC Radio 1 by “Fall Between the Cracks,” which explores more house territory and offers some of the album’s most reflective passages. These songs provide reflective areas between the more lively passages in the album’s flow, like natural breaths. The especially remarkable feature of “Third Place” is its production quality. Every painstakingly created sound and well-placed layer reflects Kalkbrenner’s experience. The blend is pure without feeling sterile, therefore preserving that vital human aspect even in its most computerized forms. Evidence of an artist who knows both club sound systems and home listening contexts, the bottom end is strong without being overpowering while the high frequencies shimmer without becoming harsh. Maybe the most amazing feat of ‘Third Place’ is how deftly it records the core of shared experience. From Electric Brixton to the Great Wall of China, Kalkbrenner’s many performances seem to have given him a unique insight into what makes shared musical events extraordinary. Whether in a busy club or on headphones on a solo walk, this record seems meant to help those times of connection. ‘Third Place’ seems in many respects both a new beginning and a climax. It pushes into uncharted ground while building on all that has made Fritz Kalkbrenner a revered person in electronic music. The album strikes a mix between universal and personal while being ambitious without appearing pretentious, and approachable without being shallow. After reaching the kind of success Kalkbrenner has enjoyed, some artists could rest on their laurels; rather, he seems more interested in stretching limits and investigating fresh ideas. The outcome is an album that is both modern and classic, very personal yet generally relevant. While beginners will have an easy access point into Kalkbrenner’s musical universe, longstanding admirers will find enough of his distinctive sound to be recognized. ‘Third Place’ reminds us of the genre’s possibilities for both artistic expression and community building in a time when electronic music could sometimes appear formulaic or too commercial. One of 2024’s most carefully produced electronic albums, it’s a deserving addition to Kalkbrenner’s catalog. 14. Munchkin Kat is back with a new single, "UZUMAKI," dragging listeners into a twisted realm where glitch-hop and bass music collide. The track's title derives from the work of famed horror manga artist Junji Ito, whose beloved series of the same name was inspired by the iconic fantasy writer H.P. Lovecraft. Ito's surrealist story is about a quiet town that descends into madness when people become obsessed with the concept of spirals. Munchkin Kat beautifully channels Ito's timeless work through a dark and disorienting banger with bass that writhes like a living, breathing entity. The track's relentless drive mimics the inescapable pull of Ito's spirals, each cinematic layer coiling tighter around our ears. Meanwhile, the producer's textured synths eerily glide through the mix while glitchy percussion rattles like bones in a digitized graveyard. To that end, "UZUMAKI" doesn't just pay homage to horror—it becomes horror, transforming Ito's visual nightmares into an auditory blitz that leaves the mind reeling. 22. Every so often, a vocalist emerges at the forefront of the dance music scene, where he or she evolves into a cultural icon. If it’s not John Martin, Dylan Matthew, or Becky Hill, it’s Liverpool-bred vocal powerhouse Hayla, whose debut solo album, DUSK, has freshly landed. Primarily known for her topline contributions on world-renowned dance records, namely John Summit‘s “Where You Are,” Sub Focus‘ “I Found You,” and, more recently, MEDUZA‘s “Another World,” among others, Hayla, born Hayley Williams, has rapidly risen the ranks as a front-running singer/songwriter in modern electronic music. Riding the wave of her explosive success, Hayla’s debut album marks an independent path forward for the UK singer, performer, musician, and now, music producer. Before its November 1 delivery, six of DUSK‘s album inclusions arrived as early-release singles. “Treading Water,” written and produced alongside Andy Sheldrake and Oliver Reed, materialized as the album’s first one-off preview in August 2022. Two months later, Andy Sheldrake-assisted “Unfold” hit digital stores as a sonic metaphor about “people’s perception of others as if they were a piece of art.” In 2023, Hayla piggybacked on the seismic upheaval achieved by “Where You Are” with the release of “Fall Again,” co-produced by Owen Jones, Ross Walsh & Alex Tepper, before issuing the final two album previews, “Freefall” and “Only I,” in 2024. Like most artists, Hayla enlisted songwriting and production support from respected industry tastemakers during the creation of DUSK. With that said, she took on the grand feat of producing the project’s title track, the last on the album, all on her own. “I was incredibly nervous about putting [‘DUSK’] on the album,” the producer revealed, adding, “I used to be incredibly nervous as a performer, feeling shy singing in front of people… Putting out ‘DUSK’ was sort of a ‘feel the fear and do it anyway’ kind of thing. I’ve always been in awe of producers, and I would love to be able to say that I’ll produce more in the future now that I’ve done this. It’s a completely ambient and experimental piece, and it doesn’t have any lyrics.” Distinguished by swelling pads, layered background vocals, and a bouncy synth topline, “DUSK” caps the album as an authentic resemblance of Hayla’s musicianship and taste-making abilities, “I wanted to throw myself into the deep end, and I’m really happy that I did.” DUSK consists of ten tracks—ten tracks starring, not featuring, Hayla. The UK singer hopes her solo project will appeal to fans of her celebrated collaborations while also showcasing a more vulnerable side of her artistry, “I think I’ve managed to balance the sound and energy from my collaborations with this other side of me,” she explains. “I’m hoping audiences don’t feel alienated from who I am, and what I’d been doing with other artists, because that’s a big part of me as well.” She elaborates, “I’ve always enjoyed electronica, UKG, some more ambient styles, and then there’s a side of me that’s lower tempo, kind of more diary-inspired songwriting… I tried to make this album a nice mixture.” Hayla’s innate knack for songwriting pins her as much more than an EDM topliner, bolstering her credibility in a predominantly male-dominated scene. “It feels amazing to be earning these kinds of accolades in a male dominated genre,” says Hayla, who clinched two Electronic Dance Music Awards for “Vocalist Of The Year” and “Dance Song Of The Year” in 2024. Coming from a “band background,” Hayla’s fleshed out dance records can all be completely stripped back, an example being her 2018-released acoustic rendition of “I Need,” originally produced by UK drum-and-bass artist Wilkinson. “Storytelling within dance music is definitely becoming a lot more prevalent. Most of the songs I write start on a piano and would work as a stripped back piece. If you removed the production from most of the tracks that I’m on, you could hear it in a wine bar, you know?” On December 4th, Hayla will perform her first headline show at Los Angeles’ famed The Roxy Theatre. “It’s going to be a fun evening,” Hayla remarks. Attendees might expect some special arrangements of songs from Hayla’s esteemed repertoire. They also might expect the availability of exclusive vinyl copies of a certain debut album, “Yes, there might be some vinyl, potentially, for some people who turn up. I will reveal more about that soon.” “I just can’t wait to get out there. It’s going to be a mixture of songs from the album, songs that people may have heard before, songs that I’ve released as well as some that I haven’t… I’m really excited for people to hear the new ones live, and of course I’m excited to sing along with the ones that everybody knows.” With the release of her debut album, Hayla is postured to elevate even beyond her famous features come 2025. 23. Last weekend, Ignite Group’s Twilight Harbor Festival transformed the Duggal Greenhouse into a mesmerizing realm of electronic music and Halloween spookies. Headlined by Dimitri Vegas, the event was a sensory overload of high hitting beats, dazzling visuals, and a spooky atmosphere. Duggal Greenhouse, a breathtaking industrial space, was adorned with eerie decorations and state-of-the-art lighting, creating the venue into a Halloween festive party. In addition to photo ops, there was also a haunted house that attendees could check out. There was also a complimentary food festival featuring a diverse range of culinary delights, and even a live tuna cutting! Starting off the night, Bassjackers, the dynamic duo known for their hard-hitting basslines and energetic performances, fired up the crowd with their high-octane set. Tracks like ‘All Around the World’ and ‘Bla Bla Bla’ had the audience jumping and cheering, as their signature blend of big room and electro house filled the air. They also performed their latest track ‘Wake the F Up’ which features an alarm clock intro which got everyone a bit confused in the first few seconds but got them all exploding in cheers once the track dropped. It definitely set the tone for the rest of the night. As the night progressed, Dimitri Vegas took the stage in his Spider man suit, captivating the crowd with his signature blend of high-energy tracks and big room sounds. The setlist was a carefully curated journey through the realms of big room, techno, progressive, and techno. Dimitri’s seamless mixing and track selection showcased not only his technical prowess but also his ability to read the crowd and keep them engaged. The energy was constant and nonstop pumping throughout the performance. My personal favorite track of the night is his track ‘Thank You (Not So Bad)’ with Tiesto. For those wanting to continue the party, Ignite Group has a few more shows coming up with R3HAB, and TJR on November 2nd and William Black on November 3rd. Check out the full lineup below. As the track intensifies, layers of dynamic energy and suspenseful sound emerge, weaving in punchy leads, rhythmic arpeggiators, and ethereal pads, the breakdown highlights the vocals, steering the progression as atmospheric textures and striking synths join the mix. The momentum of the track is maintained, keeping listeners enthralled as ‘Rebel’ continues to evolve seamlessly until its conclusion. The collaboration draws on the rich backstory of Cruel But Fair’s track ‘Bruno’ that was used in the production of ‘Rebel;’ about this song the band members, Simon, Nigel and Mark said:“Nigel spent some time in Hamburg, and it inspired ‘Bruno’, which is from Cruel But Fair’s album Altona. It’s about Bruno Tesch, who was a plumber and a leader of a counter demonstration against a march by Nazis through Altona, a working-class district of Hamburg in 1932. 18 people were shot dead by the police and many more injured. Bruno and the other leaders were falsely convicted and executed the following year after a ‘show trial.’ Simon thought ALTONA was a strong image, the theme inspired a few songs on the album, and we think the theme resonates today.” With ‘Rebel’, IND:RA and Cruel But Fair deliver a track that embodies their creative synergy, offering an uniquely crafted fusion of their distinctive musical styles, so don’t forget to follow both artists on social media to stay in the loop about their future releases, live performances, and more exciting projects on the horizon. ‘Rebel’ is out now on Desert Disco Records, available for streaming and download on all major platforms.
