Listen to Kaskade, Punctual and Poppy Baskcomb's Emotive Collaboration, "Heaven Knows"
Kaskade has never shied away from the art of uplifting house music, and “Heaven Knows" finds him blending his signature style with fresh, invigorating energy alongside Punctual and Poppy Baskcomb. Kaskade's latest foray with Monstercat is a testament to his dependability in creating deeply emotive tracks while spotlighting emerging talent. Joining forces with the hit-making dance music duo Punctual and the surging singer-songwriter Baskcomb, he crafts a sound that somehow feels both nostalgic and brand-new. "This song wasn’t designed to be a time machine but somehow it does transport me back to my earlier days, so if you’ve been with me for a minute on this journey, welcome home!" Kaskade said in a statement. "'Heaven Knows' is a song I hope people will enjoy listening to while they’re deep in it. In love, in heartbreak, in anxiety, in calm. It speaks to things that have been as well as things that could be." Opening with a steady hum of melodic synths, the song slowly immerses us in gleaming, atmospheric production. Baskcomb's vocals, angelic and resolute, sweep over warm, inviting lyricism that convey a sense of boundless devotion. The lyrics are a perfect match for the lush production, with cascading arpeggios and gated lead synths that oscillate in dreamlike tremolo patterns. The music's progression feels effortless, but there’s a playful side too, as Punctual’s knack for festival-ready hooks shines through. Along with Baskcomb's stunning topline, the synthesis of each production element makes for a song that embodies both euphoria and resilience. Fatboy Slim Slams Oasis For “Scalping The Fans” With Dynamic Pricing
Oasis shocked fans by announcing a reunion tour in 2025, ending their 15-year hiatus due to a long-held feud between the brothers. As Noel and Liam Gallagher are back and gearing up for a world tour in 2025 happening next July and August, Fatboy Slim has slammed the brothers over their choice to use dynamic pricing for their latest tour. The DJ, whose real name is Norman Cook, slammed the method of ticket sales where the price is dictated by demand, describing it as a “Sick” way to rip off fans. He told The Sun “That is the dynamic pricing you should be having. They are not making lots of money, they just want to survive. They just love to see rock n’n’ roll. New bands have to have somewhere to come.” Fatboy Slim added that he has not allowed this to happen to his shows. He gets a say on the ticket prices and stands firm on having a fair price. He went on to praise Cold Play (although he said he really hated them) for announcing that they would donate 10% of the band earnings from 2025 UK tour to Music Venue Trust, a UK charity that supports grassroots music venues. As of now, over 350 Music Venues are at immediate risk of closure. After all the uproar, Ticketmaster’s ability to raise the price of concert tickets based on demand is being scrutinized and “Under Review” by the U.K.’s Competition and Market Authority (CMA). The ticket fees can sometimes cost as much as the ticket itself! This is not the first time that Ticketmaster has faced scrutiny, earlier this year they were sued by the Department of Justice, you can read more Here. Meta Announces Feature to Allow Users to Reset Instagram Algorithm
Algorithms define contemporary times of the internet. A user’s feed is categorically sorted by the application’s AI. This is once he/she boots up Instagram. This is strategically based on a user’s past activity to keep him/her engrossed as long as possible. Showing random posts would not have an impact on an user. The key is to hold the user’s curiosity to flame social media addiction. An accidental share or a harmless ‘like’ on something that is of relatively little or equivalent to no interest can jig up the algorithm inaccurately. A user’s feed might be flooded with the flawed algorithm now taking charged based on that previous activity. This was an activity that was intended to be passing or short-term. One option in the past to overcome this would either be telling Instagram of a user’s preference not to see these unrelatable posts. The second is to start with a new account altogether. Not anymore, as Instagram is going to let you reset your algorithm, as per Meta. On Tuesday, Meta announced these changes. They are currently testing a user’s ability to reset their “recommendations” (read algorithms). Upon clearance, posts on one’s Explore page, Reels tab, and main feed will likely consist of more relatable and relevant content as compared previously. It will also eliminate the likelihood to miss out on content that might have been of importance and suitability to a user. Resetting your Instagram algorithm Upon rolling out the option from a user’s end, it can be located in Instagram settings. The path is as follows : Opening the app – Go to profile – Tap on the hamburger or three lines menu in the top right – Content preferences by scrolling down under ‘What You See’ – Tap the new Reset suggested content option Instagram will warn a user that this reset is irreversible. It will also recommend to unfollow certain accounts in place of resetting the ‘recommendations’ altogether. An user who has made up his/her mind to reset can proceed to select the Reset suggested content option and hit the option again on the resultant pop-up. An alert will confirm the reset with normalcy being restored by returning to the main feed. The post Meta Announces Feature to Allow Users to Reset Instagram Algorithm appeared first on EDMTunes.

Celebrating 10 Years of David Guetta’s Album Listen
On November 21, 2014, David Guetta released ‘Listen’, his sixth studio album, showcasing a new side of the French DJ and producer’s artistic vision. Moving beyond his typical high-energy dancefloor anthems, ‘Listen’ was a deeply personal project that incorporated acoustic instrumentation, orchestral arrangements, and an emotional depth not often seen in EDM at the time. The album marked a bold step forward in David Guetta’s career, blending pop, EDM, and heartfelt storytelling. ‘Listen’ featured a star-studded lineup of collaborators, including Sia, Nicki Minaj, John Legend, Emeli Sandé, and Sam Martin, delivering unforgettable hits such as ‘Dangerous’, ‘Lovers on the Sun’, and the smash ballad ‘What I Did for Love’. These tracks not only dominated the charts but also demonstrated David Guetta’s ability to evolve and push the boundaries of electronic music. With a mix of radio-friendly hits and introspective tracks, ‘Listen’ appealed to a broader audience, resonating deeply with fans and critics alike. Ten years later, ‘Listen’ remains a testament to David Guetta’s versatility and artistic growth. As one of the most influential figures in EDM, David Guetta continues to shape the sound of the genre, but ‘Listen’ stands out as a milestone album that proved dance music could also be soulful and introspective.

Skrillex Speaks Out Against Music Industry, Plans to Ditch Label
The Grammy-Winning Los Angeles producer Sonny Moore, also known as Skrillex, announced his upcoming departure from his partnership with Industry Giant Atlantic Records to focus on independent releases, after one final project with the label. The artist widely known for being of the pioneers of Dubstep and 2010s EDM shared his thoughts on a thread of posts on X (formerly Twitter). Skrillex Goes Independent The artist explains that his inspiration is taking him on the right tracks for his artistry, and that means parting ways with the label I’ve never felt more inspired and in lockstep with my intentions as an artist. As im nearing completion of my next work and my final project for Atlantic records I can’t help but feel very existential about it all — Skrillex (@Skrillex) November 18, 2024 Moreover, the DJ explains how existential he feels about it, given the political game he feels the industry plays consistently, this confuses him. Even though he uses the term ‘independent”, he still gives due credit to his production team and other creators that will continue this journey with Skrillex into 2025. Im thrilled to get this out and focus on more release in 25 as an “independent” artist. But “independent” is such a strange term because I still depend on my team as well as all the other creatives and executors to do what I do — Skrillex (@Skrillex) November 18, 2024 The producer continued the thread trying to explain the dangers of the industry and he alludes to seeing many young artists in consistent panic. However, he bases his focus on keeping his objectives simple, in a way that he can continue to make music, which speaks to emotion and beauty. The Return Of Brooks
After a 2-year hiatus, earlier this year Brooks finally made his return to the music scene and has got right back into releasing amazing tracks and performing some electrifying DJ sets. Brooks rightfully had taken some time out to look after himself, lying low for a while and ceasing to post anything on social media while still making occasional appearances at festivals, but now he’s fully back which is incredibly welcome news to hear. Back in June he made his return to releasing music in epic style with ‘Let It Out’ which unveiled a new style from him that was still unmistakably Brooks. It was yet another display of his incredibly creative sound design that showed his ever-evolving sound and proved he was back with a bang. Only a month after this he dropped ‘Monster’ which was another really strong track with another display of his genius when it comes to inventive productions. Since then, the Dutch DJ has stamped each month with a huge performance taking to the stage at S20 Festival in July, doing a DJ set for Slam! in August, dropping some awesome ID’s at Ushuaia in September, and in October we got the fantastic ‘Back 2 Brooks’ event at Amsterdam Dance Event. This event saw Brooks take to the stage to do a series of back 2 back sets with the likes of Mesto, Justin Mylo, Mike Williams, Vluarr and many more which was a major highlight from ADE. Having made such a strong return to the music scene it’s fair to say that there’s a lot to look forward to from Brooks in the coming year. What’s your favourite Brooks track so far since his return? Let us know in the comments down below.
