[EDMTunes] Shai T Delivers Masterful Rendition Of Deep Dish Classic, ‘Flashdance’
Here’s an update to a classic that worked flawlessly. If you were around Dance music 20 years ago (unlike me, who was simply vibing to racing games soundtracks), chances are this song marked you. American duo Deep Dish reigned supreme in the late ’90s and early ’00s, with remixes for Madonna, Janet Jackson, Cher, and many more. While their remixes launched them to fame — as with many musical acts back then —, their ‘Flashdance‘ cover of the homonymously titled movie’s ‘He’s a Dream’ crept its way up the charts worldwide, and was subject to popular culture, receiving a Grammy-nominated remix by a young David Guetta, and being mashed with Dire Straits’ iconic ‘Money For Nothing’. Well, celebrating two decades of the track and kicking off a series of Deep Dish remixes to come out during the year, ‘Flashdance’ has received a very interesting groovy touch from one of the veterans of the industry: Shai T. ‘Flashdance (Shai T Remix)’ Imagine a hardcore clubbing track turned Organic House by one of the finest producers out there. Thankfully you don’t need to imagine, for it is here. Author of tracks such as ‘Where The Heart Is’, ‘The Last Dance’, and a killer remix of Sahar Z’s ‘Back In My Arms’, Shai T has been on top of the Organic scene for years on end, portraying a special sound ever since his first releases back in 2010. Injecting a plethora of tasty percussion and fast-paced arpeggios, Shai was able to turn ‘Flashdance’ into a much more soothing record, apt for the higher energy moments of dayparties under the sun — or the rain. You tell me on that last one: I had the chance to listen to this song from the hands of the man himself, dancing under the pouring tropical rain in my beloved Buenos Aires. And it’s one of the best memories I have of 2024. Now it’s your chance to make memories to this track, which I strongly recommend you do. Listen to Shai T‘s remix of Deep Dish‘s ‘Flashdance’, by hitting the ‘Play‘ button on the Spotify player below. Also, click here to support the release on your platform of choice. Anyma has announced his third studio album, The End Of Genesys, scheduled for release on May 23rd. The announcement came during the finale of the Italian superstar's historic residency at the Las Vegas Sphere, in which he became the record-breaking venue's first-ever electronic headliner. The forthcoming release will effectively complete a trilogy of albums that started with 2023's Genesys and its predecessor the following year, Genesys II. While details about the album's content remain scarce, the title suggests a conclusion to the narrative and conceptual framework of his immersive Vegas Sphere shows, which have effectively redefined live music in the entertainment capital of the world. The venue's record-breaking, 16K LED wraparound screen envelops the audience in Anyma's surreal, hyperrealistic visuals, like forests pulsating with bioluminescent veins and humanoid figures writhing in unison to the music. The production is centered on the DJ's android, Eva, who symbolizes the merging of humanity and technology. Its storyline follows her journey through creation and self-awareness, exploring themes of evolution, connection and the pursuit of higher consciousness. [GrooveCartel] Anyma Reveals Release Date for “The End Of Genesys” Album
Matteo Milleri, better known as Anyma, is an electronic music pioneer who has officially announced the release date for his highly anticipated third record. Milleri announced that the record with the same name will be available for streaming on May 23rd during the last show of his groundbreaking “The End Of Genesys” residency at Sphere in Las Vegas. The news completes Anyma’s ambitious “Genesys” trilogy, which began with the successful records “Genesys” (2023) and “Genesys II.” The finale show turned into an unexpected record launch event when stunning visuals announced the date of the release, much to the delight of the thousands of fans who were there. Anyma has been strategically releasing unreleased music that will probably be on his upcoming record during his historic residency at Sphere. The track “Entropy,” which Anyma made with electronic music artist REZZ, is one of the most anticipated. It shows a darker, more intense side of Anyma’s melodic techno sound. Milleri also released the song “Work,” which features rapper Yeat. This was a surprising move between genres. By adding hip-hop elements to his signature immersive soundscapes, the partnership shows that Anyma is ready to go beyond the usual limits of electronic music. Fans also got to hear Anyma’s new take on Dom Dolla’s hit song “Dreaming.” The remix shows how good Milleri is at changing well-known songs and giving them the surreal feel that has become associated with the Anyma project. When “The End Of Genesys” Album Will Be Released? Anyma’s Third Album, “The End Of Genesys” Will Be Released On May the 23rd. It was announced at the same time that Milleri finished what has been called “one of the most ambitious electronic music residencies ever undertaken.” The Sphere shows, which combined cutting-edge visuals with Anyma’s melodic techno, changed the way people think about electronic music events. Over 130,000 tickets were sold for all eight shows. Milleri’s “The End Of Genesys” album is meant to be both the end of his present artistic journey and the start of new ones. In recent interviews, the artist has talked about his interest in quantum computing. This suggests that Anyma’s artistic journey is far from over, even though the Genesys series is coming to an end. Milleri started the label Afterlife in 2016 with help from Interscope Records. It will be supporting the May 23rd release. In the next few weeks, more details about pre-saves and additional tracks should be made public. [EDM.com] Whethan Hotwires Doechii's "NISSAN ALTIMA" With Filthy Dubstep Remix: Listen
If Doechii's "NISSAN ALTIMA" was built for smooth cruising, Whethan's new remix rips off the muffler and takes a detour straight into the underground. The remix opens with a deceptive simplicity before plunging us into a dubstep drop with thick, viscous bass you can almost feel sticking to your skin. The hip-hop swagger of the Grammy-winning rapper's delivery remains intact, but Whethan drags it into festival territory through his snarling sound design. What elevates the track, however, is Whethan's deft integration of four-on-the-floor house rhythms without losing an ounce of aggression. Keeping the arrangement unpredictable, these moments provide crucial breathing room, creating a rhythmic dialogue between dubstep's jagged edges and house music's steady pulse. In other Whethan remixing news, his breakthrough edit of Mssingno's "XE3" recently hit streaming platforms a decade after its release on SoundCloud, bringing one of the platform's early viral electronic hits to a new generation of listeners. The remix helped establish the producer as a rising force in dance music when he was just 15. You can listen to Whethan's remix of "NISSAN ALTIMA" below and download the track for free here. [EDM.com] Anime-Inspired Duo LMNT 115 Drops Infectious Dance-Pop Track, "Holding Onto Us"
Some songs are built for the dancefloor, others for the heart—LMNT 115's "Holding Onto Us" manages to do both. Inspired by anime and manga, the duo may be a mystery, but their music is anything but elusive. The enigmatic band consists of songwriter Z and producer Fab, who debuted back in November with their first release, "Close to You." With their new single, they deliver a sleek dance track that strikes a balance between deep, club-ready grooves and anthemic pop sensibilities. Featuring the unmistakable voice of Brando—whose breakout moment came with Loud Luxury's "Body"—the track taps into the ageless pull of human connection. "Holding Onto Us" leans into groove rather than bombast, making the track equally suited for late-night drives as it is for peak-time festival sets. It sticks with you, much like the kind of connection its title describes. From the opening moments, an airy piano riff guides us into LMNT 115's futuristic world, setting the stage for Brando's powerful topline. His evocative lyricism add layers of depth to the track’s theme of enduring love despite time and adversity. Beneath it, shimmering synth layers inject momentum, subtly evolving with each beat to keep the energy dynamic without overpowering the song's melodic core. The new single is out now via LMNT 155's own label, Quasar Music. You can listen to "Holding Onto Us" below and find it on streaming platforms here. [EDM.com] 5 Things You Missed at Ray Volpe's Spectacular Hollywood Palladium Tour Finale
On February 22nd, a sold-out crowd at the Hollywood Palladium witnessed firsthand the biggest headline show of Ray Volpe's career. From the awe-inspiring audiovisual production to the emotional send-off that heralded a new era with the announcement of his debut album, the EDM.com Class of 2022 star delivered a night that took the bass music community by storm. EDM.com was onsite for Volpe's landmark performance in LA. Here are five things you missed that made the final show of his expansive "VOLPEVERSE" tour unforgettable. Openers and special guestBefore the Volpe took stage, an electrifying series of openers set the tone for an unforgettable night. The progression began with echod, followed by SENZA and then Control Freak, each of whom built upon the last to raise the intensity in the room. The apex of this opening segment was delivered by special guest Dion Timmer, whose set perfectly primed the crowd for the experience that was about to unfold. A story set in an alternate dimensionThe audiovisual show kicked off at an unexpected spot: a seat in front of a computer, complete with a homemade teleportation wristband. In that very moment, we were teleported directly into the vivid realm of the "VOLPEVERSE"—a launch that felt reminiscent of an introduction video at a Disneyland attraction. You woke up and were greeted by Holly, the charismatic Holotron who welcomes new "Trons" into this diverse universe. The narrative set up a futuristic quest: your teleportation wristband’s energy was depleted, and the only way to recharge it was to venture through different realms of the "VOLPEVERSE." After this captivating introduction, Volpe stepped out and the audience was instantly transported into a cascade of vibrant worlds—from a lollipop-candy dreamscape and a forest-inspired haven to classic Mario visuals—all brought to life with his signature Volpetron animations. The aforementioned energy meters monitored momentum throughout the night and during standout tracks to help us reach the ultimate goal of getting home. Jake West Eye-popping lasers and pyroAs expected, Volpe’s laser display was so integral to the spectacle that it merits a dedicated highlight in this article. His global dubstep hit "Laserbeam" launched the night’s laser extravaganza early on, setting the tone for his immersive, high-energy performance. As soon as those pulsating beams cut through the darkness, we knew we were in for an unparalleled audiovisual journey. The dazzling laser show was perfectly synchronized with Volpe’s Volpetron visuals while explosive bursts of pyrotechnics punctuated every beat. This dynamic duo of light and fire wasn’t just an opening act—it was the heartbeat of the show. View the original article to see embedded media. Setlist of fan-favorites and surprisesVolpe's setlist was a masterclass, seamlessly blending high-energy bangers with unexpected twists. Crowd-pleasers like "Song Request," "Laserbeam," "Happy Song" and "See You Drop" had the audience moving nonstop. But it was the clever interludes—unexpected snippets of pop culture—that kept the night unpredictable and fun. From K-pop anthems like LE SSERAFIM’s "Crazy" and New Jeans’ "ETA" to viral hits like Chappell Roan's "Good Luck, Babe!" and "APT" by ROSÉ and Bruno Mars, each surprise kept energy levels high. The set also paid homage to EDM classics like Benny Benassi's "Satisfaction" as well as dancefloor staples like "Push" by Hamdi, Skrillex and TAICHU. Even internet culture had its moment, with playful nods to viral memes like the "Brother Eww" audio, adding an extra layer of nostalgia. Adding to the thrill, Volpe’s unreleased IDs took the night to another level. Tracks like "Get Smacked" (with Vastive) and "Rewind" (with Sullivan King) ensured no moment felt predictable. WHAT IF I SAID THAT WE FINALLY FINISHED “GET SMACKED” @VASTIVEOFFICIAL 😳😰 pic.twitter.com/ayCD2rD4fj — ray volpe (@rayvolpe) February 26, 2025 A farewell and debut album announcementThe night’s emotional rollercoaster began when Volpe took a moment to speak directly to his fans. In a heartfelt closing speech coupled by credits for the tour, he expressed his gratitude for their unwavering support throughout and delivered the announcement of his debut album. "My brand-new album, FOREVER, VOLPETRON, is coming later this year," announced Volpe following the final visual showcase of the night. "15 years in the making, this album is a love letter to you—my fans, my family, my VOLPEVERSE. I love you all so much and I cannot wait for you to hear it." In a dramatic twist, Volpe then walked offstage as if the show had ended—only to return moments later and reignite the energy with more music, reinforcing his promise that the "VOLPEVERSE" is far from over. This final act encapsulated both the end of an era and the exciting promise of a new one on the way. Volpe’s Hollywood Palladium headline wasn’t merely the conclusion of a world tour, but also a showcase of the hard work and creativity that has defined his career. [EDM House Network] David Guetta Does It Again: “I’m Good (Blue)” Surpasses 2 Billion Streams on Spotify
It seems like David Guetta has done it again. If there’s one thing the French DJ and producer knows how to do, it’s creating massive, era-defining dance anthems, and this time, he has hit another career milestone. “I’m Good (Blue),” his 2022 collaboration with Bebe Rexha, has officially surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify, making it one of the most-streamed electronic tracks of all time. For Guetta, this isn’t just another hit. It is proof that his ability to tap into global dance culture and reshape nostalgia into something fresh is unmatched. From Club Icon to Streaming GiantGuetta has spent the last two decades shaping mainstream dance music, from his early 2000s house roots to his dominance in the 2010s, where he helped bridge the gap between electronic beats and pop superstars. From “Titanium” with Sia to “When Love Takes Over” with Kelly Rowland, his formula for making festival-ready anthems has not just worked. It has set the blueprint for an entire generation of producers. But in an industry where streaming numbers now define a track’s legacy, hitting 2 billion on Spotify is a rare feat, and “I’m Good (Blue)” now sits among the most-played songs on the platform. Why “I’m Good (Blue)” Took Over the WorldSo what made this track explode? Part of the magic is the perfect blend of nostalgia and modern production. The song revives Eiffel 65’s 1998 hit “Blue (Da Ba Dee),” flipping its iconic melody into a euphoric, festival-ready anthem. It thrives on feel-good energy, which is exactly what people needed in a post-pandemic world. But it wasn’t just nostalgia fueling the song’s rise. “I’m Good (Blue)” had TikTok in a chokehold before it even dropped, with snippets of the track circulating for years before its official release. When it finally hit streaming platforms in August 2022, the demand was already there. It immediately went number one in over 20 countries, topped the UK Singles Chart, and cracked the Top 10 of the Billboard Hot 100. It also earned David Guetta and Bebe Rexha a Grammy nomination for Best Dance/Electronic Recording. Guetta’s First 2-Billion-Stream Song, But Not His First Game-ChangerDespite a career packed with chart-topping singles, “I’m Good (Blue)” is the first track from Guetta and Rexha to cross the 2-billion mark on Spotify. That is saying something, considering his influence on dance music. Guetta has always had an instinct for crafting tracks that do not just perform well on the charts but become cultural moments. His shift toward the future rave sound alongside MORTEN has been influencing electronic music’s new wave, while his ability to reinvent old hits for new audiences has solidified his staying power. Even now in 2025, “I’m Good (Blue)” isn’t just a past hit. It is still a setlist favorite at festivals and clubs worldwide. As streaming continues to shape the music landscape, this milestone cements David Guetta’s status as not just a DJ but a legacy artist in dance music history. What’s Next for Guetta and Rexha?Guetta, as always, isn’t slowing down. He is constantly evolving, whether through his high-energy festival performances, his underground-influenced future rave sound, or his collaborations with global pop stars. As for Bebe Rexha, this track reinforced her place in the electronic space, and given her genre-hopping versatility, it would not be surprising to see another dance hit from her soon. For now, with 2 billion streams and counting, “I’m Good (Blue)” stands as one of the biggest dance records of the streaming era. It is proof that a good melody, the right timing, and a producer like David Guetta can still shake up the industry. It is official. Guetta still has it.

[EDM.com] Watch Armin van Buuren and Maddix Perform Thrilling "Face-to-Face" DJ Set
The decks were set, the stakes were high and the only certainty was uncertainty. At A State of Trance 2025, Armin van Buuren and Maddix took the stage for a "face-to-face" set, an audacious experiment that flipped the script on the traditional DJ performance. With their booths positioned directly opposite each other, the Dutch artists had no view of their counterpart's decks, and were instead forced to rely solely on old-fashioned instinct and musical intuition. Unlike standard b2b sets, where the DJs can easily read each other’s track selections and body language, van Buuren's and Maddix's setup eliminated that safety net entirely. Instead, the powerhouse producers had to anticipate each other's moves in real-time, creating an unpredictable, high-energy spectacle that played out like a chess match. Their performance set was just one piece of ASOT's expansive festival programming in Rotterdam this year. The event's opening day featured over five hours of live performance from van Buuren, who set the stage for a weekend that not only celebrated trance music as it exists today, but also its future. Anyma's extended run at the Sphere has already delivered some of the most visually ambitious performances in electronic music history. As the first-ever electronic artist to headline the $2.3 billion venue, he has utilized the opportunity to expand his immersive, transhumanist world to the fullest in an evolving blend of music, storytelling and cutting-edge digital art. His latest surprise, a brooding and gritty fusion of his signature techno and REZZ’s distortion-heavy sound, adds yet another emerging chapter to the experience. The track pulses with hypnotic intensity as Anyma’s crisp, atmospheric production thrums beneath REZZ’s unmistakable low-end grit. The song, which does not have a release date at this time, was accompanied by a brand-new visual sequence featuring a translucent humanoid figure with an exposed inner skeleton—an eerie new addition to the Afterlife universe that further blurs the show's thematic boundaries between technology and sentience. Check out a clip below. Anyma's residency at Sphere continues through March 2nd, 2025. View the original article to see embedded media.
