Mysteryland’s New LookAttendees of this year’s edition will discover a new layout of the festival, which has been created by the organisers to enhance visitor experience and build a more immersive journey. [EDM.com] Watch Dom Dolla and Kid Cudi Drop Unreleased Collaboration at Madison Square Garden
Kid Cudi once took us to the moon, but this weekend, he took us to the dancefloor alongside Dom Dolla. Dolla cemented his place among the genre's elite last night, headlining a sold-out Madison Square Garden in the first show of a doubleheader at the legendary venue. But the evening's biggest surprise came when Cudi stepped onstage to unveil their stunning new collaboration. Some moments in music feel destined for history, and when Dolla welcomed Cudi onstage at The Garden, the crowd knew they were witnessing one. They erupted as the artists embraced, celebrating a genre-defying moment that bridges hip-hop with house music in a dream collaboration. With sweeping strings, euphoric synths and an anthemic refrain ("I want to stay forever"), the track is a bona fide house anthem built for stadiums, sunset raves and every moment in between. Fans are already clamoring for its official release, but neither Dolla nor Cudi has revealed a date at the time of this writing. Watch a clip of the song's debut at MSG below. [EDM.com] CRSSD's Spring 2025 Festival Marks Decade of Dance Music Devotion in San Diego
As dusk settled over San Diego's Waterfront Park on Sunday, the sky darkened and a light, unrelenting rain began to fall. Instead of sending festivalgoers scattering, however, instead it transformed the dancefloor into groove-soaked spectacle. It was a fitting scene for the 10th edition of CRSSD Festival's spring showcase, which has not only endured, but flourished as a cornerstone of stateside electronic music culture on the West Coast. Over the last decade, techno and house have moved from the fringes of the festival circuit to the center of global dance music culture. But CRSSD’s success hasn’t come from following the crowd. Instead, its identity is built on sharp, intentional curation, favoring artistry over hype. This year’s lineup embodied that philosophy, seamlessly blending pioneers and rising talents alike. Keiki Lani-Knudsen Few acts illustrate that balance better than Justice. The iconic French duo, whose Hyperdrama tour has been selling out international arenas, took the Ocean View stage on Saturday night, delivering a dazzling symphony of distortion, disco and maximalist electro against the backdrop of the Pacific. CRSSD's heart beats in the underground, and this year, that sentiment manifested in the form of Green Velvet, a surprise last-minute addition to the lineup. The Chicago house music legend felt like a natural fit for a festival that thrives on carefully curated selections, adding another layer of authenticity to a weekend that celebrated the genre's origins. Sunday’s programming leaned into techno's darker, more relentless side, culminating in a feverish b2b set from Nicole Moudaber and EDM.com Class of 2023 star Anfisa Letyago at the City Steps stage. Their performance was a masterclass in momentum, each kickdrum landing in a rhythmic storm that mirrored the rain falling over the crowd. Meanwhile, Poolside offered contrast, their breezy, sun-drenched house beats soundtracking a picture-perfect San Diego afternoon. If Moudaber and Letyago’s set was a sprint to the finish line, Poolside was a deep exhale, reminding "America's Finest City" that CRSSD’s magic lies in a balanced blend of intensity and euphoria. Keiki Lane-Knudson And at its heart, CRSSD is built on community, the kind of festival where a shared love for a four-on-the-floor beat is enough to form a bond. That spirit was never more evident than on Sunday night, when Kavinsky closed out the festival with a sweeping set that spanned synthwave and cinematic electronic music. A decade in, the festival has proven that it is an institution. And in a world where dance music continues to evolve at a breakneck pace, CRSSD remains exactly what it’s always been: a place where the music matters most. [EDM.com] Musicians Face One of the Highest Suicide Rates in the World, Study Finds
Contradictions have long plagued the music industry, where creative freedom meets relentless pressure. A new study examines the devastating reality beneath the surface: musicians are at a significantly higher risk of suicide than most other professions across the world. Published in Frontiers in Public Health, the epidemiological data found that musicians in England have one of the highest suicide rates of any occupational group, ranking fourth behind construction workers, tradespeople and agricultural workers. In the US, the broader occupational category that includes musicians had the highest female suicide rate of any profession in multiple years, and the third highest for men (138.7 per 100,000). The study suggests that the industry is, in the words of co-author Dr. George Musgrave, "demonstrably unsafe." It cites as cautionary tales Avicii and The Prodigy's Keith Flint, who died by suicide in 2018 and 2019, respectively. "Occupational mortality data in the US and the UK should make all of us who love and care about music stop and pause," Musgrave said. Sean Eriksson Roughly 70% of musicians are freelancers, meaning they have no benefits, no sick pay and little safety net, per The Guardian. Even those who achieve recognition often find themselves in a cycle of economic uncertainty, forced to tour relentlessly or take on multiple side jobs just to sustain themselves. Despite growing awareness of mental health struggles in the music world, real change has been slow. Some major record labels have introduced mental health initiatives and organizations like Help Musicians and Music Minds Matter offer critical support, including crisis hotlines and financial aid. But Musgrave and his colleagues argue that far more must be done. They are calling for the industry to implement a "zero suicide framework," a structured approach that has successfully reduced suicide rates in other high-risk professions. You can read the full study here.

[EDM.com] SOFI TUKKER Reimagine Passion Pit's Generational Electropop Hit, "Sleepyhead": Listen
Picture this: It's 2008, the iPhone is barely a year old, there's this new movie Twilight that everyone's talking about, and Passion Pit just released their debut single, "Sleepyhead." Now, nearly two decades later, SOFI TUKKER have joined forces with Passion Pit to release a reimagined version of the indietronica band's ageless earworm. "Sleepyhead 2025" interpolates frontman Michael Angelakos' unmistakable vocal chops through a blissed-out four-on-the-flour beat, showcasing the production prowess of the genre-defying duo. "We didn’t want to change the direction of the song too much, just modernize it and sonically bring it into the SOFI TUKKER world," they said in a press release. Listen to the new track below. SOFI TUKKER's Tucker Halpern said the original "Sleepyhead" was one of his all-time favorite songs back in high school and "soundtracked so many pivotal moments with [his] friends." "I recently met Michael Angelakos and we instantly connected," Halpern recalled. "I told him how much his music had inspired me. After talking about how much the industry has changed since he released Manners [the album featuring ['Sleepyhead'], we decided to bring the track back in 2025 for a new generation." "Sleepyhead 2025" also marks the first release of 2023 on SOFI TUKKER's own label, Animal Talk Records, effectively marking a relaunch. It started in 2018 as a way to introduce the world to promising artists, starting with their friend LP Giobbi, who released her first songs on the imprint before blossoming into a dance music superstar. In other SOFI TUKKER news, you can catch the duo at one of their 10 headlining performances in Las Vegas this year. Their Wynn Nightlife residency comprises appearances at Encore Beach Club and its nighttime offshoot as well as XS Nightclub. Their tour also features performance at BottleRock, Tomorrowland, Shambhala and Elements, among other festivals. [EDMTunes] Calvin Harris Teases New Song With His Own Vocals
On March 5th Calvin Harris, real name Adam Wiles, is prepared to release a surprisingly new song that he has teased online for the world to react to. Two things that make this song shocking are that he is back to using his own vocals again and this track has a very classic country feel to it. He posted a short clip of him singing the new song ‘Smoke The Pain Away.’ In the video, Harris looks like he’s about to drop the hottest country album of the year while he is playing an acoustic guitar to a foot drum beat. He sings, “Eyes sparkle like the sun in June, grow up and wait for you. Wide awake in a hotel room, thinking ‘oh what could I do.’ Too late I’ve been up for days, I can’t even see straight, no I can’t smoke the pain away.” You can listen to the clip yourself below. Fans immediately expressed their excitement and love for this. One fan reacts, “What is happening? I love it!.” Another writes, “Calvin vocals are back lfg.” In the caption, he wrote, “It’s coming,” and we have been informed that it will be released on March 14th. His last release was the song ‘Free’ in July 2024. Even though Harris is not scheduled for any performances in 2025, this is going to be one amazing start to his year. Harris is no stranger to singing. He used his vocals in many of the songs that forged his career and initially left his fingerprint on the EDM world. Iconic songs like ‘Feel So Close,’ ‘Summer,’ and ‘My Way.’ His cadence and tone have a very pleasing sound. Many of us wish he would sing more songs that he makes. ‘Smoke The Pain Away‘ is not the first time an EDM artist has crossed over into the country realm. Avicii successfully achieved it first with his smashing hit ‘Wake Me Up,’ followed by Diplo releasing an entire album under his real name, Thomas Wesley, as his country project. This may be another defining moment for Harris, but the question we are left with is, does the song contain dance elements or does it stay fully in the country lane? This one will surely be worth the wait! The post Calvin Harris Teases New Song With His Own Vocals appeared first on EDMTunes.

[EDMTunes] Cinematic progressive house artist Ward Andrews unveils lead single from his forthcoming debut EP The Decoration of Time
Blossoming progressive house artist Ward Andrews is stepping into the electronic music world with a bold vision. At a time when the industry favors short, easily digestible tracks, Andrews is embracing a different philosophy – crafting expansive, long-form soundscapes designed to transport listeners through layered, immersive experiences. As a longtime creative force in the arts and design world, Andrews has discovered a new medium for his lifelong passion: music. His approach is rooted in his knack for creating cinematic masterpieces that serve as a soundtrack for work, play, and life. Inspired by the hypnotic energy of 70s disco, 80s synth pop, and 90s house, Andrews blends nostalgia with forward-thinking production, resulting in compositions that are both familiar and refreshingly original. With an artist project born during the pandemic, his debut single “Do You Hear Me Now” garnered 90,000 streams, followed by his sophomore track, “Timbavati,” which amassed 100,000 streams. His latest release “Now or Never” caught the attention of Swedish label LoudKult, marking a key milestone in his musical evolution. Andrews has also performed at major events like Goldrush Music Festival and Decadence Arizona; supported artists including Genix, LUTTRELL, Jerro, and Romain Garcia; and he hosts a new radio show on Insomniac Radio, Creation Park, airing on the first Tuesday of each month at 10 PM PT. Now, Andrews is gearing up for the release of his debut EP, The Decoration Of Time, on Friday, May 16. Fusing his unique progressive house sound with elements of atmospheric and melodic beats, the upcoming EP is a deep exploration of Andrews’ artistic journey. With The Decoration Of Time, Andrews seeks to not only captivate through rhythm and melody but also evoke emotions that encourage personal reflection, growth, and connection with the passage of time. Today, Andrews kicks off the EP rollout with lead single “Future Memories” – a track created as a way to redefine the way music, memory, and time are experienced. Exploring the concept of time “Future Memories” captures the feeling of being suspended between the past and what’s yet to come. Its immersive soundscape creates a continuous loop of emotion, blending nostalgia with endless possibility. Words by Alex Lambeau and Zach Salafia. MEDUZA, GENESI, Innellea, and Nu-La – “Edge Of The World” “Edge Of The World” arrives as a progressive, mega-collaboration between serial collaborators MEDUZA and Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2025 GENESI in tandem with Afterlife veteran Innellea. Landing via Insomniac Records, the multi-headed release employs Nu-La on its vocal and songwriting duties, following her numerous hits that include “Believe,” “In My Head,” “Oblivion,” and “Love Again.” Henri Bergmann & Wennink – “Secrets Too Soon” and “Secrets Too Soon (19.26 Remix)“ A release over a year in the making, “Secrets Too Soon” from Henri Bergmann and Wennink has finally found its home on Insomniac’s Interstellar imprint. Named a Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2025, Henri Bergmann has concocted a blend of chilling vocals that are masterfully layered over stirring synths that provide a fresh take on the hybrid between Afro- and melodic house. The single also arrives packaged with a powerful remix courtesy of 19.26 that’s been igniting crowds at events like Afterlife Tulum, Giza Pyramids, Théâtre antique d’Orange, and many more. His remix preserves the original’s lyrical build while introducing a heavier approach, creating a striking contrast to the more toned-down original. Maesic, Marshall Jefferson, and Salomé Das – “Life Is Simple” Continuing the run of Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch in 2025 releases recognized in this week’s release radar is Maesic, who is hailed for his fusion of nostalgic and modern sounds, which has enabled him to carve out a niche within the Afro- and melodic house world. “Life Is Simple” serves as the perfect follow-up to Maesic’s pairing with Bipolar Sunshine, featuring memorable lyrics drawn from Marshall Jefferson’s 1987 classic Move Your Body and Holstee’s “Manifesto,” which was further popularized through Touchtalk’s 2020 single, “Change It.” With this masterful blend of two iconic melodies, Maesic has delivered a fresh and captivating take on the famed original. Zeds Dead – Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness [Album] Zeds Dead have returned with a new album for the first time since their 2021 LP, Catching Z’s. Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness — arriving as part of their ambient focused Altered States project – serves as the duo’s first proper bass album dating back to 2016’s Northern Lights. Preceded by the likes of “Sweet Memories,” “Heartbeat,” and “One Of These Mornings,” the 14-track LP is Zeds Dead at their absolute finest as they now embark on its coinciding live run that begins immediately following its release day. [EDMTunes] Oliver Smith Announces Debut Album, Footprints, On Anjunabeats
The news we’d been waiting for decades. What a wonderful day it is. Some things make you beg for them to occur. And such is the case with today’s freshest, hottest Trance news. Oliver Smith is a guy you could say has had an incredibly important role in the Dance scene, having contributed records far and wide for the greater part of the last quarter of a century. And he’s just announced his first-ever long play, Footprints, is coming out soon. Very soon, in fact. A defining sound for the entirety of Trance in the 21st Century, Olli can be seen in his standalone Oliver Smith records like ‘Pacific‘ from 2009 (one of my favourite songs ever), in the entirety of the Smith & Pledger project alongside Mark Pledger, which would include their ‘Believe (2004 Mix)‘ (also one of my favourite songs ever), and even the first non-A&B signing to Anjunabeats, Aspekt’s ‘Mobetta‘ (would you guess, it’s also one of my favourite tracks in the world). The first signed to Anjuna other than Above & Beyond, and the only artist to contribute to each and every Anjunabeats Volume compilation, it was only fitting for Smith to release something this close to his heart and this relevant to his career at his London home, of the large-A-logo’d imprint. Olli’s Footprints is coming out on May 2nd, 2025. The Story Behind Footprints “I’ve been releasing music for years, but my own album always took a backseat“, Olli mentions. “When I finally started the project I had so many ideas and was unsure where to begin. I decided to embrace the process and let the destination reveal itself“. This, he says, inspired ‘Footprints’, the title for the album, as even the tracks that didn’t make it left an imprint and were a necessary part of the journey. The music reflects my love for melody and groove, carrying an overall sense of hope and positivity. I put a lot of thought into making sure every track had something special and truly deserved its place on the album. I think people will recognise the thread that connects all my releases, and hopefully, they’ll enjoy the new directions I’ve explored as well. -Oliver Smith The first single lifted from the album, ‘Breathe’, alongside Midnite Amity, is out now for you to have a listen. Click the ‘Play’ button on the Spotify player below to stream it. Also, pre-save Footprints by clicking this link right here. And stay tuned for more news. [EDMTunes] Zeds Dead Drops New Cosmic Album, Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness
It’s been over eight years since this trailblazing duo released an album, but today bass heads worldwide felt the Earth tremble when Zeds Dead dropped Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness. This 14-track opus is their gift of self-expression to the world. As you listen, the music takes you to alternate dimensions, jumping across all parallel universes from track to track. From Toronto, Canada, Zeds Dead (Dylan “DC” Mamid and Zachary “Hooks” Rapp-Rovan) has performed at shows since 2010 with music that many, at the time, did not understand what it was. Although they knew they loved it. Zeds Dead never aimed for attendees to just bob their heads when they performed: they wanted them to be so consumed, that the music shook their bones, they lost control, and the entire crowd danced like no one is watching. And that’s exactly what they have accomplished for 15 years. Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness The first three releases, ‘One Of These Mornings,’ ‘Sweet Memories,’ and ‘Heartbeat‘ have already given us a taste of how the sounds are always in a perpetual state of flux, but are seamlessly dynamic and intentional. You may have already noticed that classic, retro televisions with static or flickering screens have been used for the visuals for these songs. This idea comes from the duo’s idea of randomly tuning into different broadcasts from the past century. Incorporating their love of sampling into the album, this odyssey gives you a diverse collection from their hip-hop roots to all the experimental sounds that they are known and loved for. In 2017, a dream provided the phrase: Return to the Spectrum of Intergalactic Happiness. They were entertained by it so much that they made it a permanent tweet. Six years passed, and the phrase was long forgotten. That was until an unexpected fan resurfaced the phrase. This provoked a moment of realization that it perfectly captures the album’s theme. “In making ‘Return To The Spectrum Of Intergalactic Happiness’, we really connected with the spirit of what Zeds Dead is. Throwing whatever crossed our minds at the wall and seeing what stuck. One of our biggest inspirations for this album was the idea of not letting anything matter in our creative process except for our own taste. It is very much art for art’s sake, and the product is something we can both fully stand behind.” -Zeds Dead Now, it is your time to allow the sounds to materialize, disintegrate, and collide in your life as you embrace the spontaneous creation of pure joy. Embarking in a sonic journey of a lifetime. Progressive producer trio Meduza recruit Melodic Techno artists Innellea and GENESI for the cosmic track ‘Edge Of The World’ featuring singer and songwriter Nuala’s dance music project: Nu-La. Avaiable on Insomniac Records, the track fuses the styles of this amazing group of producers to provide a one of a kind listening experience. ‘Edge Of The World’ The track is a force to reckon with, with soothing reverbed vocals and haunting echoes that star in the track. The melodic elements are beautiful, as the sound engineering of the track allows multiple instruments to blend together in harmony. The string arrangements are inspiring and catchy, making your body groove to the rhythm. The build-ups are ethereal and the echoes bounce across your hearing channel, uplifting your spirit into a magnificent drop. The track is an astronomical journey, led by Nu-La’s romantic vocals. In effect, this is an amazing song, guaranteed to close out a set or a festival the best way possible. GENESI has released tracks on Meduza’s Aeterna Records in the last few years. Moreover, they have shared the stage together multiple times, including Our House, Meduza’s and James Hype’s production. Innellea’s influence in this track is clear, after an incredible year for him on tour, this is the start of an upgraded sound for him. The German artist released his magnun opus The Belonging album, segmenting him as one of the artists to look out for in the Melodic Techno scene. Moreover, the Nu-La project has borne fruits for the vocalist. Not only did she release this wonder of a track, but has already offered her voice to industry giants like Kaskade, Gryffin, and Benny Bennasi. Meduza The trio is standing tall at the edge of their own world. Matt, Luca, and Simone announced their new project Meduza^3 last month. A hybrid live concept with a grand piano and live synths added to DJing landing in Ibiza this summer. However, it is expected for them to tour the world. [EDMTunes] Oliver Heldens Releases First Single Of 2025, ‘Let You Go’
Heldeep label boss Oliver Heldens returns to his tastemaking imprint with his first release of the year, ‘Let You Go‘. A bold evolution of Heldens’ sound, the track blends Eurodance nostalgia with a fierce, high energy old-school trance edge. While the production of ‘Let You Go’ hits with full force, Heldens wrote and recorded the vocals himself, bringing a deeper layer, carrying the weight of letting go while pushing toward something more significant. A contrast fuels the intensity- a melancholic raw emotion met with an unstoppable drive, ‘Let You Go,’ sees Heldens step into new territory, delivering a potent mix of feeling and fire. ‘Let You Go’ is a song about saying goodbye, letting a loved one go, and moving on. It originated in April last year after Heldens played a show in Tokyo; the love/energy from the Japanese fans was quite overwhelming, in a positive way. Here is what the man himself had to say on the upbringing of this new record: ‘I was pretty hyped after the show and jetlagged so I couldn’t sleep. I ended up meditating, but instead of cooling down from that, it got me in kind of an ecstatic yet also melancholic mood. Right after that, in the shower, I started riffing melodies in my head, kind of inspired by one of my all-time favorite trance tracks, Chicane’s ‘Saltwater,’ and in the end, one of the melodies I came up with really stuck with me, so I recorded a voice note in my phone. The next day, I turned it into the first version, the instrumental track of ‘Let You Go,’ titled ‘Tokyo Shower Trance’ at the time. A few months later, after playing a HI-LO show in Chile while traveling to Lima, Peru, I came up with the lyrics for the song, and a few days later, I recorded them in Vancouver in my hotel room, singing them on my phone. I re-recorded the vocals when I got back in Amsterdam again, and after a lot of altering and adding vocoders/synths, it quickly became one of my favorite songs that I’ve done in the last couple of years. Enjoy! :)’ Catch Oliver Heldens on the road as he traverses the globe with hard-hitting shows at destination events such as Don’t Let Daddy Know (Romania and Chile), Parookaville, îLESONIQ, and more. For now, you can listen to ‘Let You Go’ below and on all available streaming platforms. Stay tuned for more news!
