It's the EDM.com Class of 2021 artist's first single from their upcoming sophomore album, they revealed this week. Both beautiful and unsettling, Kismet's work here is reminiscent of turning over a smooth stone only to find sharp edges beneath.
A song that's as comforting as a slap in the face, "BITTER!" swings like a pendulum between glitchy, textured bass drops and tender lyrical expressions of anguish. Each transition feels like a descent deeper into despair, artfully mirroring the internal conflict of clinging to past joys while confronting present resentment.
Kismet's tortured vocals resonate with a piercing clarity, capturing the gnawing detachment that comes with feeling out of place or misunderstood: "I am bitter / Hate the way I think you all still look at me / Haven't felt this out my skin since 17 / Cling to all the happy moments in my dreams."

Delivering a blend of tropical escapism, world-class entertainment and high-end hospitality, the venture underscores Kygo’s swelling influence in the business community and broader entertainment culture far beyond the reaches of his music alone.
Palm Tree Beach Club is a lavish addition to the city’s storied daylife offerings, boasting a saltwater pool, 12 private bungalows, 10 cabanas and a sprawling space for over 3,000 guests. Palm Tree Crew co-founder Myles Shear described it a natural progression for the Palm Tree Crew, which is rapidly expanding its footprint in the sector.

CEO Frankie Knuckles Foundation Having passed away far too young in 2014 at the tender age of 59, Frankie Knuckles has been sorely missed by the House music community. Since that day his legacy has been commemorated by his official charitable foundation The Frankie Knuckles Foundation who continue to celebrate his work as one of the most significant cornerstone and seminal DJs of our time. Frankie Knuckles was a generational talent, LGBTQ+ ambassador and all round good human. Originally from New York and later going to Chicago becoming the DJ that was to set the tone for the sound that we call House today (after the Warehouse). He was awarded the moniker ‘The Godfather of House’ a title which acknowledged his contribution to the birth of the genre. With the moniker however he was humbled to receive it, always wanting to put the music first and not the limelight on himself as a DJ or producer.
As well as an outstanding individual DJ, Frankie also was part of the Def Mix family, he shared the international clubbing line-ups with fellow DJs David Morales and Satoshi Tomie.
He was also a Grammy winner and boasted American President Obama as a fan and supporter. Going onto release many culturally significant records including ‘Baby Wants To Ride’ and ‘Your Love’ both featuring vocalist Jamie Principle, The Whistle Song and Tears featuring Robert Owens. Remix wise he worked with the titans of the global music scene including Chaka Khan, Janet Jackson, Diana Ross, Michael Jackson and Whitney Houston to name a few.
On Jan 18th 2025 we will be remembering him on what was to be his 70th birthday. To celebrate this milestone and to continue the recognition to his contribution to House music, we have invited a host of his contemporary DJs and musical peers to join us in an event to mark his legacy.
There will be two official Frankie Knuckles Foundation approved events scheduled both in the UK on the 25th January at fabric and at Metro in Chicago on the 19th January. All proceeds being donated to the Frankie Knuckles Foundation.

‘Neon Storm’ launches another rip-roaring year for the Edinburgh based artist. It follows early 2025 shows at Fabric and Gashouder for Awakenings New Year after capping off an incredible 2024. The past year witnessed an Australian tour inclusive of Carl Cox headlined Eat The Beat festival alongside Lilly Palmer & Chris Liebing. The year also foresaw Mha’s EP debut for [PIAS] Électronique supported by the likes of Mixmag, Clash, DJ Mag and BBC Radio 1 Dance. Releases on Filth on Acid and TRICK rounds off the nearly perfect season.
‘Neon Storm’: the title track juxtaposes rampaging techno beats of pure primitive power, with futurist dystopian elements. It fuses fuzzy hoover growls and stabs, doppler builds, and an unsettling robot girl’s vocal riffs. A mysterious operatic choir surprisingly dovetails with the resulting soundscape as the dark sounds become increasingly ominous.
‘Moving Machines’ keeps up the energy with galloping techno, metallic stabs and a chopped melody with a 90s vibe as a rising doppler siren. You can feel in your teeth spans a gargantuan breakdown, another shot of dance dynamite.
‘No Return’: similarly powerful. Its resistless onslaught of thudding beats, bass snarls and regiments of rattling hi-hats herald spacey FX and an alien-like melodic vocal, alongside a suitably almost-Scottish-influenced melody.
‘Neon Storm’ is an apt description to this colorful yet chaotic set of tracks that have been making serious impact in Mha Iri’s sets across the last months of touring. She wanted to create an EP that represented her energy but drew from the best Drumcode groove style. It has been a satisfaction for her to watch how they go down in Adam Beyer’s peak time sets.

From July 3-6, 2025, Rampage Open Air will once again take over the Kristalpark in Lommel. True to tradition, the organization is going above and beyond to live up to its reputation as the “biggest drum-‘n-bass & dubstep festival in the universe”. In addition to these heavy hitters, bass fans can look forward to big names like Gentlemens Club, K Motionz, Kanine, Koven, and rising stars Levity and Mozey. Belgian bass hero Murdock, founder of ROA and Mister Rampage himself, will also make his appearance.
The musical offering is undoubtedly five-star quality, but Rampage Open Air is all about the complete experience. That’s why the theme this year is once again BIGGER, BETTER, BOLDER!
This year, the techno stage will be significantly larger, while the glamping, hotel, and resort options have been expanded. Traditionally, Thursdays have been exclusive to campers, but Thursday, July 3, 2025, will now be a full-fledged open festival day with separate tickets available.
Of course, the on-site pools and crowd-favorite attractions—bumper cars, spinning rides, skate ramps, video games, and more—at the Rampage Theme Park will return. A brand-new highlight for this edition is the Europe Flyer, the highest swing ride in Europe, located right on the festival grounds.
After last year’s successful trial, the Rampage Express is back! Festivalgoers can travel to ROA 2025 on Thursday, July 3, aboard this exclusive train departing from Brussels-South, stopping at Antwerp-Central, and continuing to the festival grounds in Kristalpark Lommel. What’s good and bad in your world right now?
The good? The energy from the fans and the opportunities to keep evolving musically. Every gig feels like a new chapter, and the connection with the audience is unmatched. On the flip side, the schedule can be intense—balancing touring, studio time, and personal life is always a challenge. But honestly, I wouldn’t trade this for anything. The highs far outweigh the challenges. How did you celebrate the New Year? Were you DJing? What tune did you play at midnight if so?
I rang in the New Year doing what I love most—DJing. There’s no better way to celebrate than sharing the moment with a crowd that’s full of energy and ready to dance into a new chapter. What is the most important lesson you have learned in your journey so far?
The most important lesson has been to stay true to myself and my sound. Trends come and go, but authenticity is what really connects with people. Also, I’ve learned the importance of patience and consistency—building something meaningful takes time, and it’s worth the effort to get it right. You’re heading to Dubai to play at Bohemia Beach Club this January – what have you got in mind for your set?
For Dubai, I’m planning something special. Bohemia Beach Club has such a unique vibe, so I want the set to reflect that energy. It’ll be a mix of my signature sound with fresh edits and a few unreleased tracks I’ve been working on. The idea is to create a journey that matches the atmosphere of the location. Do you repack your record bag/USB before each gig, or have folders for certain sets or moods or vibes? How do you organise things?
I always prepare folders for each show, and inside those folders, I organize the songs by intensity and musical tone. Will there be any road testing of new tracks at all, is that something you do across the year?
Absolutely. Testing new tracks on the road is a crucial part of my process. It’s the best way to feel how a track connects with a live audience. You can tweak things in the studio endlessly, but nothing compares to seeing how people react on the dance floor. I always carry a few unreleased tracks to test throughout the year. Have you got any favorite tools or tech that you rely on when DJing or in the studio?
I always use 4 CDJ-3000s, a V-10 mixer, and a RMX-1000. I like to play around by adding live vocals with the fourth CDJ. Will you plan to do anything else in Dubai, is there anywhere you will check out or any places you’ve been before you can recommend?
Whenever I perform in Dubai, I stay for at least a week to visit places and have some leisure time, as it’s a city where you can have a lot of fun. I love going on desert excursions, visiting the Burj Khalifa, and of course, spending the afternoon at Dubai Mall.

Every dollar of net proceeds from the shows will be donated to various charities dedicated to rebuilding and recovery efforts for wildfire victims and first responders, per a media alert shared with EDM.com.
Some of the many artists who volunteered their time to perform for the cause include SVDDEN DEATH, Oliver Heldens, SLANDER, NGHTMRE, Deorro and Flosstradamus, among others.
Fans can catch these fundraising shows at LA's Exchange, Academy and Avalon as well as San Diego's Nova and Bloom all month long, with the last event falling on January 31st. Insomniac also announced that additional charity events will follow this series.

Inspired by his upcoming Monstercat EP of the same name, the dubstep pioneer's "1 Man Army" tour will soon take over 15 cities across the country. Joining him on the road this spring is a talented bunch of electronic music producers: SubDocta, Moody Good, Justin Hawkes, Kumarion and Sharlitz Web.
Rusko took to social media to share the full list of cities and dates on his high-energy run.
In addition to his United States road trip, Rusko will return to his home country for a special headlining gig at one of the world's premier clubs, London's fabric.
He's set to take the stage there alongside fellow dubstep luminary Caspa for a special one-night performance. You can sign up to be notified when tickets to this clash of titans go on sale here.

Speaking on the venture capital industry podcast The Twenty Minute VC (20VC), Shulman painted a rather bleak picture of music production, suggesting that learning an instrument or mastering software is too much of a hassle for the average person.
"It's not really enjoyable to make music now," he told host Harry Stebbings. "It takes a lot of time, it takes a lot of practice, you need to get really good at an instrument or really good at a piece of production software."
"I think the majority of people don’t enjoy the majority of the time they spend making music," Shulman added.
Suno's AI-powered platform allows users to produce songs simply by entering text prompts. Its CEO's vision of democratizing music creation through artificial intelligence represents a growing tension in the music industry: the struggle between traditional, skill-based artistry and AI-powered instant gratification.
"If you want to impact the way a billion people experience music, you have to build something for a billion people," he declared, apparently dismissing centuries of human musical tradition as too cumbersome for the masses.
The tech exec's claims seem perfectly timed to justify the AI-powered framework of Suno amid mounting legal troubles. Suno is currently battling a pair of landmark lawsuits containing explosive copyright infringement allegations from the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA), which claims the company used copyrighted recordings without permission to train its AI models. The trade body is reportedly seeking damages of up to $150,000 for each copyrighted work
While he defended Suno's technology as "transformative" on 20VC, many in the music industry are bemoaning his comments for bastardizing the value of musical craftsmanship.
"It's very revealing," one X user wrote in response. "The solutionist language just doesn't make sense for art, or for other things where the work is the enjoyment, but the tech companies seem stuck in their story."
