Escapade Music Festival 2025 to Feature RL Grime, Disclosure, Kygo and More

15 years of Escapade magic will come to life this summer as the festival returns to Ottawa with a lineup that's sure to light up Canada's capital.
Organizers today revealed a massive lineup to meet the moment of its 15th anniversary. Heading to Escapade in June are RL Grime, Kygo, Disclosure, The Chainsmokers, Excision, Kaskade, Gryffin, Jessica Audiffred and Liquid Stranger, among others.
Fans can also look forward to stage takeovers from Subtronics' Cyclops Recordings and Above & Beyond's Anjunabeats, the latter of whom will be presenting a special "Anjuna25" edition in celebration of the iconic label's 25th anniversary.  Check out the full lineup below.

The lineup isn't the only thing to be excited about. Escapade is making big waves for the festival's 15th anniversary by moving to a new location at the RA Centre Grounds, just five minutes from its former home of Lansdowne Park. 
"While we've had amazing years at Lansdowne Park, upcoming changes, including construction at Aberdeen, make it impossible to produce the festival you know and love there," organizers said last week. "With limited space, we would have had to remove our 3rd stage, which we absolutely couldn’t do."
The move brings a cascade of exciting firsts and upgrades, promising an experience unlike any other in the festival’s history.
The Great Lawn Stage will be "bigger and better" with more room to dance, and the House Party Stage has moved outdoors to offer an open-air party fueled by four-on-the-floor beats. Elsewhere, the MEGASTRUCTURE Stage, a groundbreaking first for Eastern Canada, offers a "fully immersive experience" complete with a VIP platform for premium views.
Elsewhere, the Festival Village will debut a larger "Chill Zone" with a Ferris Wheel, expanded food options and interactive activations. The event will also feature more bathrooms and water stations this year.

Rufus Du Sol Announces Benefit Hollywood DJ Set

Grammy-winning live electronic trio Rufus Du Sol will perform a one-night-only benefit DJ set. This noble act will unfold at the Hollywood Palladium on March 6th to support LA fire recovery. The entire amount generated from ticket sale from the Live Nation-produced event will be donated to the CCF Wildfire Recovery Fund.

Tickets go on sale Thursday, January 23rd at 10 am PST via Ticketmaster. To protect the prices originally set by the artist, this show will use Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange for all necessary resale and make tickets mobile only and restricted from transfer. This means if fans purchase tickets and can no longer attend, they’ll have the option to resell them to other fans at the original price paid using Ticketmaster’s Face Value Exchange tool.

Kappa FuturFestival Announces Stacked 2025 Phase Two Lineup

Italy’s globally acclaimed Kappa FuturFestival has unveiled its phase two artist lineup ahead of its 12th edition. Returning to Parco Dora, Torino on July 4-6, 2025, Kappa FuturFestival remains one of the world’s most celebrated electronic music events. It connects the many facets of Italian culture to the past, present, and future of the genre’s foremost flag bearers.
Kappa FuturFestival’s phase two lineup continues to shine a light on the festival as a melting pot of leading international world-class talent, with the next round of acts consisting of exclusive back-to-back sets, global headliners, next-generation risers, and an overall wide-ranging diversity of selectors.
The phase two lineup boasting 46 new artists is led by Solomun, making his highly anticipated return and sixth appearance at the festival for an exclusive extended set. Here Are The Top 50 Artists Played At HĂŻ Ibiza In 2024

The renowned Hï Ibiza played music by an astounding 4,680 different artists in its 2024 season. Among this vast number, 50 artists were played more frequently than the rest, and we’ve compiled that list for you.
Topping the list is David Guetta, who was also a resident DJ at HĂŻ in 2024. Fisher, another 2024 resident, came in second. Patrick Topping, Meduza, and Eric Prydz (both under his own name and as Pryda) followed, all being HĂŻ residents as well. Argy, Pawsa, Anyma, and Cajmere rounded out the top ten.
The list features a mix of established acts like The Chemical Brothers and Green Velvet, alongside prominent modern-day stars such as John Summit, Dom Dolla, and Keinemusik’s Adam Port and &Me. 3LAU Becomes First DJ to Perform at Inauguration Ball

You may not have heard as much from 3LAU in a while, but he’s been keeping busy. While he has transitioned more into the crypto and NFT space via Royal, he still DJs and produces music. He also just became the first DJ to perform at a presidential inauguration ball. 3LAU took to socials to tell the story and thank everybody involved.
Reportedly, President Trump‘s team reached out less than a week ago to ask him to perform at the Starlight Ball on Inauguration Day. 3LAU accepted the offer and played a short but sweet 30-minute set. He was reportedly not paid for the performance and did it pro bono. In his Instagram post below you can see just where he was perched above the ballroom and a photo of him on the decks. Regardless of your thoughts on the election, it’s pretty cool to see dance music getting some time in the limelight in these big occasions!

MusiCares Has Raised Over $3 Million for LA Wildfire Relief Efforts

MusiCares, the Recording Academy's philanthropic arm, has raised over $3 million in wildfire relief funds for the Los Angeles music community, Variety reports.
$2.2 million has reportedly been distributed to those affected thus far. However, Recording Academy CEO Harvey Mason Jr. said the organization is "going to need a lot more" as the catastrophic fires continue to prompt evacuations.
28 people have died, according to the California Department of Forestry and Fire Protection, and officials have warned the death toll is likely to rise.
"I was lucky, but when I see people and friends of mine who have lost their studio, lost their house, lost their instruments, lost their ability to make a living, after all the strife and struggle that has happened to people in this community over the last five years, I say we have to do everything we can to be helpful," Mason Jr. lamented. "That involves raising money, that involves raising awareness and hopefully allowing MusiCares to have the financial resources that it’s going to take to support the thousands and thousands of people that are going to need help—not just this week or next week, but for the next few years."

The Recording Academy has encouraged anyone working in the music industry to contact MusiCares for financial assistance. That includes "musicians, songwriters, engineers, producers, live crew, tour bus drivers, managers, agents, A&R, makeup artists, costume designers, music video creatives and technicians."
Those workers just need to provide proof of employment in the music industry for at least three years or documentation demonstrating six commercially released recordings. Initial disaster relief benefits include $1,500 in financial assistance and a $500 grocery card.
The fundraising effort is expected to grow substantially by virtue of upcoming events, including the annual MusiCares Person of the Year gala and FireAid benefit concert at Intuit Dome and Kia Forum on January 30th. This year's Grammy Awards ceremony, scheduled for Sunday, February 2nd, will also incorporate wildfire relief initiatives.

Armin Van Buuren’s ‘Pillars Of Creation’: The Future Of Festival Visuals

A couple months ago in the jaw dropping desert dunes of Ras Al Khaimah, Armin Van Buuren debuted his new ‘Pillars of Creation’ concept. This new concept for visuals is incredibly innovative and the full set has now been released unveiling this outstanding creation to the world.
The stage is surrounded by huge LED-lit pillars with more pillars behind them for pyro which would all be great in of itself, but there’s more. Up in the sky the show is accompanied by nearly 800 drones fitted with lights creating some stunning imagery above the stage that really takes this concept to the next level. Armin Van Buuren has described this new visual direction as “the transformation of energy, sound and emotion. The show will take you on a journey through space and time, with a focus on growth, connection and creativity.”
In the past few years visuals at festivals and clubs have been evolving rapidly with laser programming being taken to an insane level, the advent of 360-degree stages, and the marvel that is The Sphere in Las Vegas. Everywhere wants to have the newest and best visuals for their sets and now Armin Van Buuren and his team look to have made the next step with ‘Pillars of Creation.’ The inclusion of drones paired with the 360-degree stage could be the next trend to sweep festivals and in years to come may be a regular feature at events.
As to where things will go with this new concept is yet to be seen, however ‘Pillars of Creation’ is an inspired idea that made for a very unique show in a time where it’s hard to stand out with everyone upping their game. It is a spellbinding experience that will be intriguing to see more of.

Tomorrowland Reveals Stage Hosts Ahead of Lineup Drop

Today Tomorrowland revealed its stage hosts and brands for 2025 along with the news that the full lineup would be dropping tomorrow morning. This year continued Tomorrowland’s move towards something more like what Insomniac has been doing. There is a greater emphasis on Tomorrowland’s in-house brands and the brands of Tomorrowland’s artists and fewer third-party labels that might outshine the festival itself. For the first year since 2017, there is no Afterlife at Tomorrowland. This reveal essentially ends the discussion on the future of Tale of Us, as there is no way Tomorrowland and Afterlife would part ways unless Tale of Us was no more. Now we await the announcement (sigh).
Tomorrowland Brands
We could possibly still see Anyma, but it would come under Tomorrowland’s own brands. The Tomorrowland brands are Atmosphere, Crystal Events, CORE, and Moose Bar. Initially, CORE was the only Tomorrowland stage that took on a life of its own outside of the festival, but in recent months Atmosphere has also expanded beyond the festival grounds and we could only expect to see something similar from Crystal Events as well.
Next up are Tomorrowland’s adjacent artists and brands like Amber Broos, Andromedik Invites, Lost Frequencues & Friends, Smash The House (Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike), and V Sessions (Yves V).
Third-Party Brands
Finally, we have plenty of new and returning third-party brands. Some exciting ones for 2025 include Indira Paganotto’s Art Core, FISHER’s Catch & Release Records, Amelie Lens Exhale, He She They, and Monstercat. NATURE ONE Celebrates 30 Year Anniversary In 2025

From July 31 to August 3, 2025, a very special chapter in the festival’s history will be written at the former Pydna missile base: NATURE ONE is celebrating its 30th anniversary with the motto “Celebrating 30 Years”. In keeping with the 30th anniversary, the festival is supporting the Reiner Meutsch Foundation “FLY & HELP” with the construction of a school in Rwanda.
Since 1995, the festival has stood for basic values such as freedom, tolerance and togetherness and has been committed to charitable projects at home and abroad for over 15 years. In cooperation with Viva con Agua de Sankt Pauli e.V., various well projects have already been realized in Uganda. For the 30th anniversary of the festival, another important step is now being taken: the construction of a school in Rwanda in cooperation with the aid organization FLY & HELP.
The targeted donation target of EUR 50,000 for the construction of the school with three classrooms, cistern and toilets was recently reached. The school building is now due to be completed in May. “We are incredibly proud that the NATURE ONE community has supported us so extensively with donations for this project and that we can complete the construction of the school before our 30th anniversary,” says Oliver Vordemvenne from I-Motion.
NATURE ONE began in August 1995, when the first open-air rave took place at Hahn Airport with 13,000 enthusiastic dancers. In the years that followed, the number of visitors increased continuously and the festival quickly developed into one of the largest and most famous of its kind in Germany. The Pydna festival location in Kastellaun now includes a campsite the size of more than 50 football fields. Over 350 international DJs play on 22 floors and create a boundless sense of community.

From the bone-crushing dubstep that made him a legend to the genre-bending complexity of his most recent work, we are expecting a set spanning time. Imagine an unexpected b2b with Four Tet or an unplanned jam with deadmau5 during his retro5pective set, then consider natural collaborations with the outstanding roster of the event.
Looking forward, this performance might signal the start of a new era of electronic music. Ultra 2025 might be where we first hear the sounds that will characterize the next decade of dance music, as Skrillex teases new material and hints at a reinvented approach to releasing music.
His latest pieces on reevaluating business systems and streamlining music distribution point to us not only getting a DJ performance but also a window into the direction of electronic music culture.
