Brats from all over the world are preparing to flock to the cinema when Charli xcx hits the silver screen in The Moment, a new film scored by her frequent collaborator A. G. Cook.
The minds behind last year's most explosive album, Brat, is starring in the upcoming movie with help from her new production company, Studio365. The film's plot is unknown at this time, but it was reportedly co-written by Charli xcx herself.
While her lyrics were integral to the "Brat summer" movement, the album wouldn't have had the same impact without the innovative production of Cook, who was named 2024's best audio engineer in EDM.com's list of the year's top industry leaders. Unsurprisingly, he's been called upon to provide the score for The Moment as the duo tackles another artistic medium.
The film will be distributed by A24, which in recent years has become a fan-favorite studio amongst cinephiles. A24 is responsible for a number of seminal films released in the last decade, including the Best Picture-winning Everything Everywhere All At Once as well as Hereditary, Uncut Gems, Heretic and Midsommar.
The release date of The Moment has not yet been revealed at the time of this writing.

Los Angeles mourns the tragic loss of a member of their dance music community, following the fatal stabbing of a girl known as Amanda “Dandy Mandi” Torres, early Sunday morning. The incident, which occurred outside a downtown warehouse after party, has sparked numerous calls for increased safety measures at local events.
Details surrounding the attack remain unclear, but according to Torres’ family, she was stabbed multiple times around 1:00 am on January 26th by a man who had been ejected from the event. Security personnel reportedly used mace to subdue the attacker.
“We are devastated at the tragic loss of a community member,” reads a joint statement from event organizers Space Yacht, CYBER RODEO, and UNDERWAR3. “The victim’s family has established a GoFundMe page at @JusticeForMandi. We urge everyone to donate and share the link.”
As per a post on the @JusticeForMandi account, Torres was at the event with her brother and friends. When multiple assailants allegedly attacked her brother, Torres intervened, tragically resulting in her own demise. Witnesses described the perpetrator as a man dressed entirely in black, while another attacker was reported to be wearing a distinctive navy bomber jacket with a white collar lining and glasses.
The incident has reignited concerns about safety at dance events. In response, prominent promoter FEVER has announced a series of new security measures, including increased security and medical personnel presence, the implementation of metal detectors at entrances, and a stricter zero-tolerance policy. Local event organizer The LA Raver has also indicated plans to follow suit.
The GoFundMe campaign for Torres’ family has already surpassed the halfway mark, raising nearly $20,000 of its $30,000 goal. Donations can be made via the platform, and anyone with information about the crime is urged to contact investigators at [email protected] or the LAPD tip line at (877) 529-3835.

Mary Lou’s arrives on the scene as a refined cocktail lounge and cultural epicenter where absolutely nothing is as it seems. It is hidden within the unassuming walls of its previous tenant Berto’s Bait & Tackle. Used to be a local staple that served local fishing enthusiasts and craft beer connoisseurs for over 50 years, one might never guess that this familiar exterior conceals a decadent, richly layered labyrinth within its walls. Each space has been carefully crafted to exude both sophistication and indulgence.
Mary Lou’s Logo Visible Signs of Grandeur Right from the Doorway
The speakeasy entrance immediately immerses patrons into the storied history of the establishment. It replicates the look and feel of The Corner Store. A visible completeness accompanies with rustic touches, fishing memorabilia and a distinctly coastal charm. As visitors progress further into the venue, they embark a visual and sensory journey. From this modest homage to a stunning vestibule that signals the grand unveiling of Mary Lou’s domain. Designed by Volenec Studio, the lounge itself dramatically emerges as a sensory stimulating, grandeur space filled with ornate wood paneling.
The Progression
A one-of-a-kind artwork and antique velvet drapery, creating an atmosphere that feels both intimate and boldly seductive. The centerpiece—a surrealist mural—commands attention. It resultantly blends hints of the past with a contemporary allure, drawing guests deeper into this decadent escape. Mary Lou’s is more than a venue. It’s an homage to a golden era of Palm Beach opulence and the stylish legacy of its muse, namesake and grandmother of co-founder Alex Melillo – the iconic Mary Lou Curtis. Mary was a bold, unapologetic force in the West Palm Beach fashion scene, celebrated for her daring spirit and playful flair.
The Influence
Known for vibrant, feminine designs that broke the mold of the times, her famed boutique – La Shack – captivated the likes of Jackie O, Betty White and more. These solidify Mary as the region’s ultimate tastemaker. They also cement her legacy as a fearless arbiter of an uncompromisingly glamorous life. The venue not only honors Mary Lou Curtis’ enduring influence, but invites a new generation to indulge in the vivacity that characterized her extraordinary world and the Palm Beach social scene at large. Guided by her favorite ethos “always have a sense of ridiculousness,” each exquisite corner of Mary Lou’s reflects her distinctive essence. Dramatic, yet delightfully secretive with a touch of irreverence.

Consider the paradox of David Guetta, a DJ who has spent four decades helping people forget time exists while simultaneously mastering its passage.
As he launches another totemic Vegas DJ residency, he's thinking about the same thing: how to make something timeless in an illustrious career that has defied time itself.
"It still feels like a miracle," Guetta says of his career with a disarming humility. "Getting there is very hard. Staying there is harder. And being happy is even harder."
We're chatting over Zoom and his newborn son has just made a brief appearance, carried in by his girlfriend. The moment provides a striking contrast: here's a man who has devoted his life to keeping people young—if only for a few hours at a time—face to face with both the future and the weight of his own legacy in the Entertainment Capital of the World.
The French icon began playing records before electronic music had a commercial future, went on to shape that future and now, at 57, refuses to stop reimagining it. He's now beginning another "new cycle," he says, though he's careful not to define exactly what that means.
"Am I going to be able to come with a new sound again?" Guetta muses. "That, to me, is bigger than anything."
c/o David Guetta
We'll all see soon enough as Guetta prepares for his latest high-profile Vegas venture, a DJ residency at the lavish Fontainebleau. The brand-new resort's LIV Nightclub and LIV Beach daytime experience, developed by Miami hospitality legend Dave Grutman, aim to change the fabric of Sin City nightlife.
It's a big move for Guetta, who has found a new home on The Strip after 12 years of seminal work at Wynn Nightlife's XS Nightclub and Encore Beach Club. His reverence for the pioneering Wynn brand is palpable, and the weight of the moment is not lost on him.
"I'm nervous," Guetta admits. "But I'm coming with the weapons to make it fucking insane."
"I think every challenge is always positive," he adds. "Being uncomfortable is what makes you become better."
This philosophy has guided him through multiple reinventions on the road from underground house DJ to EDM festival headliner. When he started his career, he wasn't trying to be a "superstar DJ," he says," because it didn't exist."
The simplicity of those early days as a teenager back in Paris brings him comfort, as he recalls charging just a dollar for entry to basement parties he promoted at school with hand-made flyers. He soon started spinning house music in local clubs like Le Broad, for which he remains deeply grateful.
"I was so happy," Guetta recalls. "It was already a blessing that they would even give me a fee to play music—to have fun. I feel very blessed because I don't take anything for granted."
Perhaps that's his real secret, the ability to maintain wonder and to treat each night behind the decks as both a gift and a challenge.
Looking at him now—a father again at the height of his career—it's clear that he has mastered that most elusive of arts: staying forever young while growing ever wiser. He also credits as inspiration fellow LIV residents John Summit and Dom Dolla, a pair of house music superstars over 20 years his junior.
But don't mistake his clarity for complacency. In an industry that treats youth as currency, Guetta has managed to transform age into an asset.
"I don't do this to stay relevant," he insists. "I do this to keep a state of mind that is going to force me to stay relevant."
c/o David Guetta
A career as storied as Guetta's is measured not just in hits or headlining slots, but in the memories left behind. Since those humble days needling vinyl in Parisian cellars, the club has been his time machine to those memories, and dopamine its key.
Decades later at LIV Las Vegas, his vision for the club is entwined in those roots. Guetta wants to recreate something increasingly rare in our hyperconnected age: the pure, unfiltered dancefloor experiences of his early career, before smartphones turned every moment into content and partying meant moving your feet instead of your thumbs.
In today's war between FOMO and flow state, excessive smartphone use has emerged as one of the electronic dance music community's most contentious flashpoints. A grim study recently reported that 55% of respondents admitted they prioritize capturing footage of a music performance over being present in the moment, even though 13% said they rarely watch back the videos they record anyway.
While some argue that attendees should be free to use their devices as they please, others bemoan them for provoking a sense of trepidation in those who want to dance freely without being documented. Many DJs have also lamented smartphones for corroding the connection with their fans, whose experiences are diluted by the compulsion to capture the moment.
Guetta is a neutral party in this ongoing debate—all he cares about is making people dance so much that LIV's proprietors question the club's structural integrity. One of them, Fontainebleau Development CEO Jeffrey Soffer, said "you're missing an unparalleled experience" by skipping out on the residency.
"I'm challenging myself... I hope people are going to remember this," Guetta says. "Because this also matters a lot to me: to leave memories of happiness in people's lives."
Guetta will kick off his exclusive two-year residency with Fontainebleau on Saturday, March 22nd. It's the first of 13 performances inside LIV Las Vegas in 2025, the last of which is scheduled for May 31st. Tickets are available now.

Her strong relationships with top designers like Chanel further highlight her creative vision beyond music. From festival appearances at the biggest festivals in the world to performances at iconic venues like The Sphere in Las Vegas, Amelie consistently pushes boundaries, shaping the future of electronic music.
To enhance the unified concept of the EP, both Amelie and Charlotte’s voices are subtly layered into the tracks, together, as one.
The brilliant ‘One Mind’ kicks off with rock solid, earth rattling kicks and intimate vocal whispers that draw you in close. Flashy, strobe lit synths soon electrify the groove and ensure hands will go skywards as acid lines bring extra drama. ‘Where Do We Go’ is another fantastic, turbocharged and acid-laced trance-techno gem with high speed drums and synths racing along under icy spoken words that bring spine tingling sensuality.

Hi, who are you?
Duckworthsound: My name is Luke, better known as Duckworthsound.

Dread MC: I’m Mikel, better known as Dread MC.
What’s your ethos?
D MC: Making authentic underground bass bangers.

D: We want to break down any boundaries people have when it comes to multi-genre sets with the way we play. We’re all about bringing non stop energy and  good vibes that everyone can enjoy.
Tell us your origin story?
D MC: We were already doing shows together and we’ve always chatted about our deep love for all things bass and dance music. We’ve always tried to showcase different styles and genres through our sets and productions. Then we started thinking about having an imprint for ourselves
D: We had been creating so many different sounding tunes, we wanted to create a label that stood for that, so we spent 2023 developing the idea, working with the team at Cygnus. We had the first tunes we wanted to put out and then – we launched Duckplates.
Tell us about your local scene…
D MC: I’m based in Bristol, from Gloucester – the local scene out here is amazing, for collaborating, networking and all the shows that happen are wicked.

D: I’m based just out of London, so ever since I was able to I’ve always been going into London for any and all shows that I could.
Do you have a specific sound or vibe?

D MC: We don’t have a specific sound, it’s a spectrum of bass music. We’re consistent with the vibe, it’s always high energy bass tracks.

D: It comes from our  love for all types of bass music. I’ve always loved a big mix of genres and sounds, I want people to be able to see that in my music and in the sound Duckplates does.

Do you have a regular artist roster – who can we see releasing with  you?

D MC: It started as just an imprint for ourselves, we only started in March 2024, since then we’ve already grown from our own releases and we’ve now had 12 artists join us on the label through features and mainly the remixes.

D: Currently from the remixes we’re working with some amazing artists who are all coming up and deserving to be heard – 1997, Ghostfxce, Six28, Neumonic, AYCH, SH?M, Valdeez, Coben, Spence, Chuck Shadow – all these artists on the remix pack are dope and brought a real unique sound.
Tell us about your A&R process…

D: A lot of them I met through my discord community which has been a major key for finding new talent. I also met some artists through shows I’ve played and built connections with.
D MC: We don’t take submissions on email or direct right now, currently we’re using the discord for submissions through a monthly demo drop community call, we hope to get some of these artists on board one day. It’s been great to already have artist’s involved with label through the discord.
What makes you different from other labels?

D MC: It’s too early to say right now, we’re new to this, we’re not watching any other labels or trying to compete, we’re just doing what we want to do.

D: Couldn’t have said it better myself honestly- I don’t see a reason to compare ourselves to any other labels big or small, whether that be in similarities or in how to be totally different. We’re going to keep doing things our way and see where it takes us.
What does it take to run a bass music label in 2025?

D MC: A lot of time, effort and patience in all honesty. Good communication between us two, regularly knowing what we’re both doing. We’re growing a small team around the both of us who are great in helping out now also.
D: Money? Lots of that would be great, doesn’t mean we’ll be any better but I’m sure it’d make things easier. All jokes aside – lots of planning, lots of time to plan out our months in advance to make things work – alongside a couple people Hannah and Jaden who have been great help, also just want to say Cygnus being very helpful and always on hand to support us.
What have you got coming up we should look out for?

D: 2025 is about continuing the growth for us, we have so much music lined up from ourselves for the label, plus our first original releases with other artists. We’re planning to do showcase sets and label nights across the UK and maybe even around the world.
On Feb 28th we have a Duckplates showcase night in LA for our American artists Neumonic and Chuck Shadow, so it’s really amazing to already be pushing our label name out there already.
We’ll also be launching Duckplates free – which is where we’ll be supporting artists bootlegs and flips as a free download to be streamed  Soundcloud or YouTube to help up and coming artist grow and gain more followers.

The rare performance is part of Armin’s monumental 5-hour set on Friday night, paving the way for Saturday’s highly anticipated A State of Trance day program, where fans are invited to go behind the scenes, deepen their connections within the A State of Trance community, and participate in wellness and mental well-being activities.
ASOT Festival Saturday Program

Quicche unveils “Red Eyes,” the latest indietronica release and third single from his forthcoming debut album, “Frisia.” The single continues to heighten anticipation for his album, showcasing Quicche’s signature fusion of electronic textures and indie-driven melodies. With its dynamic soundscape and innovative production, “Red Eyes” offers a compelling preview into the sonic richness and artistic vision that listeners can expect from this evolving project.
Breaking away from the album’s folk-inspired roots, “Red Eyes” emerges as a dynamic reinvention infused with danceable garage rock influences. Grünhäuser, the creative force behind the track, crafted the song during a month-long retreat in Northern Germany. Immersed in self-imposed isolation with limited equipment and minimal human contact, he delved deep into the vast potential of his musical soundscape, pushing the boundaries of his creative expression.
Quicche’s sound is a rich tapestry woven from experimental indie, folktronica, shoegaze, and ambient music. “Red Eyes” amplifies these eclectic influences, elevated by masterful production that highlights his artistry. The track fluently balances tender vocals with a detailed electronic edge, whilst featuring traditional production and live instrumentation that results in a captivating sonic experience.
Quicche Comments “Lyrically, Red Eyes is a direct challenge to anyone who has a bad influence on you. Writing the text felt very liberating, as if it had opened a valve that had been under pressure for a long time.”

As listeners anticipate this next release, Quicche’s previous two singles on the legendary Belgian imprint have already set a compelling tone for his debut album. With “Frisia” on the summer horizon, Quicche is already ascending to new heights, solidifying his place as a seasoned and visionary artist that stands out from the masses.
Quicche’s “Red Eyes” is set for release on R&S Records on February 14, 2025, and will be available on all major digital platforms.

Renzo Zong is a Peruvian DJ and Producer who has been crafting a unique space for himself in the electronic music world. Blending traditional Peruvian sounds with Tribal Beats and psychedelic influences, his music is a celebration of his heritage while embracing the possibilities of modern production. From local performances to international tours, Renzo has been steadily building a reputation for creating deeply immersive and distinctive soundscapes.
We caught up with Renzo Zong to talk about his roots, his creative process, and how his music connects past and present.
Hi Renzo Zong, how are you?
Hey guys, I’m very good, very excited about this interview
Can you tell us about your earliest memories with music and what sparked your interest in becoming a DJ and Producer?
I was at a party and I saw a friend of mine putting CDs in a machine, I went over to ask him what he was doing. He said: “I’m playing music, I’m a DJ!”
that was more than 10 years ago!
Growing up, who were some of your biggest musical influences, and how have they shaped the artist you are today?
From my mother’s belly, I’ve been listening to Carlos Santana! He combines Latin music with rock, marvelous! His music is like a meditative, deeply psychedelic journey that offers a bit of everything.
What was the moment when you realised that music could be more than just a passion – that it could be your career?
When I was able to travel to London to play at a festival. There was a person who listened to my music on Spotify and told me they produced a festival in London, and they invited me to go and play!
It was a beautiful thing, I didn’t have a booking agency or anything, so it was like an arrow to the heart.
Every artist has a unique sound – how would you describe yours, and what do you want listeners to feel when they hear your music?
I come from a country, with a lot of cultural richness, I come with all that background ready to shake the world. I’d like people to feel what I feel when I create music, I put a lot of soul and passion into it, and when people dance to my music, they always tell me that it feels different than anything else they have ever heard.
Was there a particular track or project that marked a turning point in your career? If so, what was the story behind it?
I collaborated in the elaboration of a mantra, with two other artists from Cuzco, this track led me to do my first tour in Europe ‘Shebrem’.
What’s your creative process like in the studio? Do you start with a melody, a beat, or a certain mood you’re trying to capture?
Sometimes I feel like a poet, there is always a story behind the songs I make, sometimes a prayer, sometimes a dedication, it can even be a message coming from beyond. I don’t have a specific order when I start, there is always a story to tell.
As both a DJ and Producer, how do you balance crafting music for the studio versus creating high-energy sets for the dancefloor?
When I’m creating music, I’m just another listener, who likes to feel emotions to what I’m listening to, who loves to dance, to move, to travel between spaces.
What’s been the most challenging part of your journey as an artist so far, and how did you overcome it?
I’m a father of two children, I have to balance a lot my family life, with my artistic life, I always learn something new.
The Electronic Music world is vast – are there any specific subgenres or sounds you’d like to experiment with that you haven’t yet?
I’d like to create some Drum and ass at some point, maybe some Progressive and Amapiano too.
Lastly, what’s next for you? Are there any exciting projects, releases, or shows on the horizon that your fans should know about?
In the last few months I have created over 10 songs, I’m more than ready and excited for everyone around the world to hear them.
Talking to Renzo Zong reveals a thoughtful artist who sees music as both a personal journey and a way to connect with others. Whether he’s creating in the studio or performing on stage, Renzo brings a deep sense of purpose to his craft, honoring his cultural background while exploring new musical directions. As he looks ahead to upcoming releases and projects, Renzo’s passion for his art continues to shine through, don’t forget to follow him on social media to remain updated on his latest releases and upcoming projects.
