The weightless melancholy of "CHIHIRO" has found new depth in the skilled hands of Black Coffee, who today released an official remix of Billie Eilish's Platinum hit.
"CHIHIRO" appeared on the pop superstar's third studio album, Hit Me Hard and Soft. Where Eilish's original exudes eerie intimacy, Black Coffee stretches it into something vast and cinematic.
Black Coffee's rendition is a masterclass in remixing, respecting the source material while creating something entirely new that resonates with his fans. The South African dance music icon's signature Afro-house grooves engage in a mesmerizing dialogue with Eilish's quavering falsettos, giving them a haunting new undercurrent.
With distant, curious piano keys drifting through the mix like ghosts, his production is spacious yet intentional. Each element is delicately placed to honor Eilish's lyrics, enhancing their sense of longing.
Black Coffee's remix of "CHIHIRO" is streaming exclusively on YouTube and SoundCloud at the time of this writing. Watch the official music video below.

Driven by his relentless sonic evolution and ventures into EBM-inspired sounds, Techno giant Adam Beyer continues his sonic mastery with his latest two-track EP, Do It For The Bass, set to release on February 7th via his iconic Drumcode label. Ahead of the full EP, the track ‘Circus Freaks’ will be available for streaming starting January 31st. Listen here.
This release offers fans a winter boost, bridging the gap between Beyer’s recent remix of Romina Dez and Muter’s 2022 hit Fascination (out January 17th on Tronic) and his massive 2025 performances, including Drumcode London at Drumsheds on March 22nd, as well as appearances at Time Warp and Kappa Futurfestival.
The title track, Do It For The Bass, is a commanding techno anthem with a driving kick drum and rattling hi-hats that build around a two-note riff reminiscent of a stylized police siren. This motif grows heavier with reverb, layered with a distorted female vocal delivering robotic rhymes, while the deep bassline reverberates with visceral intensity. The result is hypnotic, addictive, and irresistibly catchy.
Circus Freaks hooks listeners immediately with its dark, resonant bass and pulsating riff, crafted from what seems like processed radio chatter turned into synth tones. A processed male vocal and intensifying drums lead to a dramatic drop infused with atmospheric reverb and a haunting high-pitched melody. As fragmented patterns and eerie melodies weave in and out, the track creates a dystopian, unsettling vibe that captivates the mind and ears.

Dance music maverick Gryffin and electronic music legend Kaskade have united for the first time on their new collaborative single ‘In My Head’ featuring UK vocalist Nu-La out now via 10K Projects. ‘In My Head’ is a starlit collaboration that sees two titans of progressive dance music combine their generational sonic influences. Gryffin and Kaskade seamlessly blend their emotive yet energetic signatures and with entrancing melodies a thumping bassline to elevate Nu-La’s powerful vocal performance. ‘In My Head’ is a heart-wrenching hit that will heat up dancefloors all winter long. Listen here.
Fresh off the success of his third studio album PULSE, Gryffin’s new track ‘In My Head’ marks the beginning of an exciting new chapter in his career. This release follows his incredible 2024, which featured high-profile collaborations with Armin van Buuren, John Newman, Rita Ora, and more. He wrapped up last year with a five-show headline PULSE tour, supported Kygo across Europe, and performed at the Palm Tree Music Festival in Australia. Looking ahead, Gryffin will be hitting the road again with festival appearances at EDC Mexico, Ultra, Breakaway Dallas and Phoenix, plus the return of his Wynn Las Vegas residency.
Meanwhile, Kaskade’s 2024 was equally impressive, starting with his groundbreaking performance as the first-ever in-game DJ at Super Bowl LVIII. Later in the year, he played at the Formula 1 Crypto.com Miami Grand Prix as the starting grid DJ. Kaskade also released collaborations with John Summit, Wilkinson, Punctual, and Enisa, and wrapped up the year with his Christmas mini-tour. ‘In My Head’ marks Kaskade’s first release of 2025, and comes just ahead of his performance at BottleRock Napa Valley and his residency at Zouk Nightclub in Las Vegas.

Following a breakout year that saw him debut at Coachella and the record-breaking Vegas Sphere, Rebūke has released the first single from his upcoming debut album, The World of Era.
A collaboration with deadmau5, "Endless" features vocals by Ed Graves and offers fans a glimpse into Rebūke's highly anticipated project. With haunting vocals written by Dutch songwriter Mellissa De Kleine, the new single seamlessly blends the distinct soundscapes of the two influential producers.
"'Endless' felt like the perfect track to launch the album—a full-circle moment and a collaboration with deadmau5, who has been a constant source of inspiration throughout my musical journey," Rebūke said in a statement. "I feel like the song strikes the balance between both Rebūke and deadmau5 sound."
Known for his meticulous production and haunting visuals, Rebūke's storytelling on "Endless" progresses with the track's accompanying visualizer. The video depicts a day in the life of a woman living in Era as she makes her way to a nightclub before "a transcendence occurs."

Generations of dance music excellence converge in "In My Head," a long-awaited collaboration between Kaskade, and Gryffin.
Released via 10K Projects, the track is a shimmering fusion of their respective sounds, seamlessly blending ethereal chord progressions with deep, emotive grooves. "In My Head" unfolds in a slow burn, its opening pads blooming as the tension builds. Gated tremolo synths then flutter into focus like a breaking wave, driving yet dreamlike.
At the center of it is Nu-La, whose voice sails through the mix with a commanding presence. The UK vocalist, known for her standout contributions to CamelPhat’s "Oblivion" and CHANEY’s "Love Again," delivers while carrying the emotional weight of the track as it swells toward its euphoric peak.
The synergy between Kaskade and Gryffin, two artists cut from a similar sonic fabric, was seemingly inevitable. "In My Head" stands as a validating moment of alignment between two of dance music's biggest hitmakers.
“Kaskade has been one of my biggest idols since I first got into dance music," Gryffin said. "I’ve had the pleasure of playing on shows and developing a friendship, but now I couldn’t be more excited to finally have a collaboration with him. 'In My Head' feels like a perfect collab between us, as it represents both our styles coming together.'
"I've known Gryffin for years, including having him perform at Sun Soaked in 2017," Kaskade added. "With our shared San Francisco roots and West Coast base, this collaboration was long overdue but came at just the right moment. 'In My Head’' is a piece of music that shows both of our strengths, and his classical music training brought a fresh perspective to the process. We've created a track with the kind of warm, singalong energy perfect for getting through the winter months."

Stefan Engblom, one-half of the influential Swedish EDM duo Dada Life, has successfully undergone a liver transplant after battling a rare liver disease, Primary Sclerosing Cholangitis.
The chronic condition, which affects the bile ducts and can lead to liver failure, had forced Engblom to step away from touring as he awaited a donor liver. The DJ shared the severity of his condition in a heartfelt message to fans prior to the surgery, describing undergoing seven procedures over the past 18 months, the last two of which resulted in pancreatitis and sepsis.
Placed on Sweden's liver transplant waiting list, Engblom was required to stay within an hour of Stockholm in case a suitable donor became available.
"When the call comes, I need to go to the hospital and go into surgery to get the new liver," he explained back in November. "After the transplant, the first three months are critical as my immune system will be heavily suppressed so my body doesn’t reject the new liver."
Engblom this week announced that his transplant surgery went "amazing" and the liver was a "great match." Now on the road to recovery, he will be taking a hiatus from touring for at least two years. Dada Life, known for their high-energy performances and banana-fueled antics, have yet to announce plans for future shows but fans can expect updates as Engblom continues his recovery.
Engblom in 2023 climbed Aconcagua, the tallest mountain in the Americas, which is situated within the vast Andes mountain range at a summit elevation of 22,838 feet. He suffered from Acute Mountain Sickness, a condition caused by reduced air pressure and lower oxygen levels at high altitudes, he told EDM.com at the time.

Cue the Men in Black neuralyzers, because if you told us Will Smith would be headlining an EDM festival in 2025, we'd swear we were imagining things.
The Academy Award-winning actor is set to headline Spain's Dreambeach Festival, which is scheduled for August 7-10 at the scenic Villaricos Beach. While he's no stranger to performing—his '90s rap hits with DJ Jazzy Jeff still hold cultural weight—his presence at a festival dominated by electronic artists raises eyebrows.
Smith is headlining Dreambeach alongside Steve Aoki and Swedish House Mafia's Steve Angello. The festival's 2025 lineup also includes Nicky Romero, Subtronics, Sub Focus, Space Laces, Dimension, Showtek and EDM.com Class of 2023 artist Indira Paganotto, among others.
Smith today also revealed his first album in 20 years, Based on a True Story, which is due out in March via SLANG Recordings. The album is likely to feature electronic music after he spent time in Ibiza "working on new music, drawing inspiration from the dance scene on the island" in the summer of 2024.
Tickets to Dreambeach 2025 are available now. You can check out the full lineup below and find more information on the festival's website.

The GRAMMY® Award-winning international icon Tiësto kicks off his next creative chapter with PRISMATIC: PACK 1. It heralds his coveted PRISMATIC live sets, which sold out Forest Hills Stadium and Red Rocks Amphitheater. Moreover, it follows his performance at The Sphere Las Vegas as special guest to Anyma, and then the extended sunset performances at Zamna in Tulum and Club Space Miami.
Prismatic: Pack 1
With PRISMATIC, Tiësto takes another massive leap forward, while being inspired by where it all started for him. This time around, he modernizes the melodic dance genre he famously helped forge and bring to the masses. PRISMATIC marks the beginning of a new chapter as he continues to evolve his sound, heavily influenced by his roots. Fans who have seen a Prismatic set have witnessed Tiësto at peak creativity and freedom – like nothing they’ve ever heard at one of his classic festival or club performances.
PRISMATIC is an exploration of sounds in which fans are taken on a sonic journey from the nostalgic trance, to deep melodic house, all the way to the new and evolving sound of Tiësto:
The first track is none other than a melodic rendition of Likke Li’s ‘I Follow Rivers’ featuring Oaks. The song is as emotional and inspirational as usual. However, it possesess that fun and powerful signature Tiësto sound that reminds us of his old school tracks. Next, ‘Hold Me’ with Jordan Shaw is a light-hearted and bouncy song that feels extremely smooth and Mainstage worthy. Lastly, ‘Parachute’ with Alex Mills is a progressive and sentimental track that pulls at your heartstrings. The song is that closing track you want to hear at the end of the night to send you off in an uber back home to fall into a beautiful deep slumber.
More of Tiësto
The international superstar had a great run in Las Vegas last year, with a residency alongside the Tao Group Hospitality venues, which he renewed for 2025. Moreover, he started the new year opening up for Anyma for the End of Genesys show (which btw got 4 more dates added ends of February). In addition, he had a surprise b2b with Anyma at LIV nightclub, which made for a special New Years week. Furthermore, the artist just came from a tasty weekend playing at Club Space Miami, and Zamna Tulum.

Some artists launch labels out of necessity. OMRI. is launching one out of inevitability. After setting dance floors ablaze from Brooklyn Mirage to Burning Man’s playa, the Tel Aviv-bred selector is channeling his eclectic vision into Collecting Dots Records, with its debut release “Mission Impossible” landing January 31st.
The track, which has already earned rotation from melodic techno titans Solomun and Adriatique, feels like a mission statement. OMRI.’s signature sound – that sweet spot between nostalgia and innovation – translates perfectly into label form. But this isn’t just another producer vanity project; Collecting Dots aims to be a proper incubator, mixing established names with emerging talent.
For an artist who’s made his name reading rooms from New York to Nevada, launching a label feels like a natural evolution. If OMRI.’s track record behind the decks is any indication, Collecting Dots won’t just be collecting music – it’ll be collecting moments.
Consider “Mission Impossible” just the first dot in what promises to be a very interesting picture.

Works like this are the ones that keep the warm, kind part of this industry alive and afloat. Thanks, Q!
It’s been two whole weeks since Qrion released her second artist album, We Are Always Under The Same Sky, so I know I’m quite late to the party. But I truly wanted to take this time to simmer each track in my head and appreciate the work put into this piece, because I’ve read the story, and it’s an act of respect on my end to take each song in with care and patience.
Well, matter of fact, I’ve been following Momiji for years. She first popped onto my radar with the release of the Sapporo EP back in 2019, and then I got fully hooked with her ABGT350 performance that same year. What first stood out to me as a very shy Deep House variant, turned out to be a much more powerful expression of art coming from a culture that never ceases to amaze — Japan.
She kicked off 2025 in full swing with this LP, one that shows not only auditive magic, but also personal growth. AI will cheesily tell you these days, “The album is more than just X — it’s Y“, but I really want to take this phrase to heart and say it out loud, meaning every single word that I’m about to say: Momi’s album is much more than just plain music — it’s a door to one of the most vulnerable corners of her life, self-forgiveness.
We Are Always Under The Same Sky
Putting together a bunch of random, non-connected songs, calling it a day and releasing that as an album is one thing. Sharing a very personal and delicate matter through a number of songs that can all relate to each other, is completely different. Opening up is very difficult, let alone opening up to millions of spectators around the world. That takes courage.
That’s the wonder of art: it heals. And as much as listeners can relate or have personal stories and memories linked to certain songs, the beautiful thing about music is that, when engineered in the correct way, has the power to heal the author itself. Qrion’s We Are Always Under The Same Sky shines a light on her darkest corners of life. I’ll let her comments answer for me:
Credit: Abeiku Arthur The LP follows the release of Qrion’s 2021 debut album I Hope It Lasts Forever, which was hailed by Forbes as “stunning” and “a masterful production”. By openly addressing her struggles with addiction and recovery after her father’s passing, she imbues the theme of rebirth with a profound sense of poignancy and resilience in her new record. We Are Always Under The Same Sky represents the next phase of Qrion’s journey, written as a reflection of the past.
And even though the minimalistic aspect of the music that got me into her still holds true, today’s Qrion sounds much more lively, and full of pride and power, which only matches the actual stage in which she describes herself feeling in life. The album is heavily tinted with melodic goodies, which make for a very uplifting listen.
Writer’s Picks
I had one pick, then I had two, then three… now I feel like I have five. So I’ll go with the two that marked my experience during first listen: ‘Goa‘ and ‘I Like You A Lot‘. The first time I listened to the album was while driving, and I vividly remember when ‘Goa’ came blasting through the car’s speakers, I started to swing my body from side to side. I’ve yet to understand what it means (although I’m assuming it’s got to do with memories made at the Indian location of the same name), but what it sparked in me was pure happiness, on a particular day in which I was struggling just a little bit more than usual.
As for ‘I Like You A Lot’, I really dig how minimal it is, in the sense of how few elements are used to make a compelling, almost infectiously catchy product. By this point I was full-on vibing to the album in that same drive I just talked about, and this one was a new high for me. Complemented beautifully, of course, by the closing track, ‘Sad Song‘, which brought me back down to Earth in a very A&B-esque way, but also with a more melancholic, reflective tone. Tears were shed in the middle of rush hour.

Hats off to this project. Finding peace through music is something I love to experience, and hearing about an artist healing wounds through their music hugs my soul in a way I can’t describe. In a world consumed by ego and hatred, growing aware of one’s issues and addressing them through composing is a very, VERY brave decision, almost as much as letting these feelings out to the world, risking appearing fragile. In the correct hands, fragility is welcomed, and hugged, and loved. And I believe Anjuna encompasses those hands perfectly, and there couldn’t have been a better home for this album.
Thanks Momi for this collection.

"Traveling for work" takes on a new meaning in the case of John Summit, who has announced that he's begun recording his sophomore album in London and Amsterdam.
Not even a year removed from the release of his debut album Comfort In Chaos, Summit has been on a roll, releasing a slew of that singles that test the boundaries of his house music sensibilities. That includes the dubstep-infused "Gas Pedal," a rework of Sage the Gemini's hit of the same name released alongside Subtronics and Tape B.
This diversity seems to be taking root in Summit's upcoming album. This week, he took to social media to share clips of unreleased demos featuring glimpses of drops ranging from techno to drum & bass.
Summit is back in the studio with familiar favorites like Sub Focus and Julia Church, with whom he collaborated to release "Go Back," as well as Hannah Boleyn, Ina Wroldsen and EDM.com Class of 2024 star Camden Cox, among others. He also shared a photo with the "High Priestess of Hard Techno" herself, Sara Landry, although there's no indication they are collaborating on new music at this time.
Summit has not yet formally revealed his sophomore album, including a title or release date.

Ah, the afterparty. Where sleep is taboo, dancing is mandatory and the only thing between you and the brink of collapse is another Red Bull-vodka.
Before the next time you walk outside at 9am and hiss at the sun like a vampire, you'll probably hear Rich DietZ's new single, "After Show." One of the year's best tech house releases so far, the track is a hedonistic testament to endurance, excess and the kind of nights—or mornings—where time ceases to exist.
Out now via Azureon Select, "After Show" is built for those moments when the house lights come up at the club, but you and your crew know the night is far from over. The duo's lyrics read like a bouncer's whispered approval at an unmarked door, both an invitation and a warning: "Welcome to the after show, where only pros are asked to go."
It's a line that dares you to earn your rave stripes, separating the casuals from the lifers. Meanwhile, Rich DietZ's production is downright filthy, particularly in the drop, where a serpentine synth slithers through a thick bassline you can feel in your bones. Take a listen below.
"After Show" arrives in the wake of a breakout year for Rich DietZ, who graced the stages of North Coast and Breakaway, among other major dance music festivals. The surging house music tandem also performed at the Amsterdam Dance Event, the world's leading electronic music summit.
The duo's hit remix of A$AP Ferg's "Work," produced alongside Proppa and Smith & Sorren, also continues to dominate dancefloors across the world. The track has received DJ support from Swedish House Mafia, Tiësto, Alesso, Kaskade, Diplo, Party Favor and many more.
Rich DietZ are now set to make their Breakaway Music Festival return on April 25th, when they'll spin in Tampa along with FISHER, Louis The Child and EDM.com Class of 2022 artist Kaleena Zanders, among others. Tickets are on sale now.

A genuine superstar with #1 hits and over a billion cumulative streams to his name, Oliver Heldens is at the vanguard of the new generation of future house and techno music stars. Oliver’s career has been a whirlwind of mind-boggling success ever since his breakout hit ‘Gecko’ was taken to the UK #1 spot with a vocal from Becky Hill, with the record receiving Platinum sales status. A collaboration with Tiesto and remixes for Calvin Harris, The Chainsmokers, Coldplay, and Martin Garrix followed. As much as Oliver Heldens is one of the most prolific and successful DJs and producers around, he is also a resolute perfectionist. It’s this encompassing and extensive interest in music of all forms that led Heldens to set up his own record label, Heldeep. His residencies at Hï, Pacha, and Ushuaia Ibiza, as well as Marquee Las Vegas in addition to his billing as a headlining act at seminal festivals across the globe including Glastonbury, EDC, and Ultra, continue to place him at the epicenter of the global DJ circuit.
