Dance music has always been about transcendence, but Lincoln Jesser is taking that concept to entirely new frequencies – literally. His latest single “Paradise” continues the LA-based producer’s fascinating exploration of what happens when club culture meets consciousness expansion.
Following his breakthrough track “Quema Quema,” this new offering delves even deeper into what Jesser has dubbed “Healing House” – a movement he’s been cultivating through worldwide tours that blend infectious house grooves with something far more intentional. While most producers obsess over the perfect kick drum, Jesser’s busy tuning his entire production to the solfeggio “miracle tone” (528 Hz) and embedding Delta-wave binaural beats throughout the track’s DNA.
This isn’t just musical aesthetic – it’s spiritual technology disguised asMentored by Grammy-winning sound healer Jonathan Goldman, Jesser approaches production with a level of intentionality rarely seen in club culture. “Paradise” functions both as an infectious house track and as a delivery system for frequencies believed to promote healing and higher states of consciousness.
“There is a quote by one of my most beloved teachers, Paramahansa Yogananda, that says ‘By the practice of meditation, you will find that you are carrying within your heart a portable paradise,'” Jesser explains. The track’s mantra-like lyrics – “You are my paradise, I can’t deny, you make me high” – aren’t about romantic love or chemical substances, but rather connecting with one’s Higher Self.
This fusion of ancient wisdom and modern production techniques has struck a chord with audiences worldwide. Jesser’s Healing House concept has evolved from an experimental idea into a full-fledged movement, with fans gathering not just to dance but to participate in a collective experience of elevation.
What makes Jesser’s approach particularly revolutionary is how seamlessly he integrates these spiritual elements without sacrificing dancefloor functionality. “Paradise” doesn’t require a meditation cushion to enjoy – it works just as effectively in packed clubs as it does in personal practice. This accessibility might be Jesser’s most impressive achievement – creating music that serves both the body and the spirit simultaneously.

The Academy of Country Music 60th awards ceremony took place last night—hosted by 16-time winner Reba McEntire. Here’s a peek at this year’s winners.
The 60th Academy of Country Music Awards (ACM), presented by Prime Video and Dick Clark Productions, took place last night in Frisco, Texas to celebrate the year’s biggest accomplishments. The show opened with a 12-minute all-star set celebrating the 60th anniversary with performances of ACM Songs of the Year from decades past.
Host Reba McEntire sang “Okie from Muskogee,” followed by Clint Black singing, “Rhinestone Cowboy,” Wynonna Judd singing “Why Not Me,” LeAnn Rimes singing “Blue,” Little Big Town singing “Girl Crush,” and Dan + Shay singing “Tequila.”
As for the night’s accolades, Lainey Wilson took home the night’s highest honor, Entertainer of the Year—her second year in a row earning the highly coveted title. Wilson clocked four wins overall, while Ella Langley led the night in total wins with five. Riley Green took home three awards for his collaboration with Ella Langley, “you look like you love me,” while country mainstay Alan Jackson received the inaugural Alan Jackson Lifetime Achievement Award.
Brooks & Dunn won Duo of the Year, marking their first win in the category in 15 years, and their 17th win overall in the category. Old Dominion took home ACM’s Group of the Year award, their eighth consecutive win in the category, pushing them past Rascal Flatts for the most consecutive wins in that category.
Meanwhile, Chris Stapleton won ACM Male Artist of the Year marks his second consecutive win for the title and his fifth overall. Jessie Jo Dillon won Songwriter of the Year, her second win after securing the title in 2024.
First time winners this year included Texas native Cody Johnson, who won Song of the Year for “Dirt Cheap,” Zach Top with New Male Artist of the Year, and The Red Clay Strays with New Duo or Group of the Year.
Interestingly, country superstar Morgan Wallen seemed to ditch the ACM Awards in favor of hanging out with former NFL quarterback Tom Brady. Images of him tossing a football with the Super Bowl champ on a golf course appeared on his Instagram stories around the time the ACM Awards were set to begin. Wallen was among the most nominated artists this year, alongside Ella Langley, Cody Johnson, and Lainey Wilson—but he didn’t get any wins.
After her appearance in a pixie-cut bob at this year’s Met Gala, actress Nicole Kidman stunned at the ACM Awards with her signature long hair as she accompanied husband Keith Urban. Urban was honored with the coveted ACM Triple Crown Award, while Chris Stapleton, Megan Morony, and Brothers Osborne paid tribute to him with a melange of some of his greatest hits. These included “Stupid Boy,” “Blue Ain’t Your Color,” and “Where the Blacktop Ends.” Urban joined Brothers Osborne on stage for the latter.
The Academy of Country Music Awards were established in 1966 and remain as the longest-running Country Music awards show. In 2022, the event made history as the first major awards ceremony to exclusively livestream, in collaboration with Amazon’s Prime Video.

UK techno heavyweight Eli Brown has released his latest single, ‘Wavey’, out now via Insomniac Records. Known for his high-energy productions and dynamic performances, Brown’s upcoming track is poised to be a festival mainstay this season. The track has been previewed during Brown’s official Instagram and TikTok account, generating anticipation among fans.
‘Wavey’ marks another collaboration between Eli Brown and the Insomniac Music Group, following previous releases on its underground imprint, Factory 93 Records, such as the Escape EP and the high-octane track ‘Gasoline’ with Lilly Palmer.
‘Wavey’ continues Brown’s exploration of the Hypertechno genre, blending trance-inspired synths with driving techno beats. The track features a distinctive synth motif with rapid portamento slides, building tension that culminates in a powerful, trance-like riser leading into the final drop.
In a recent interview, Brown emphasized his commitment to creating music that stands out “My music needs to have something uniquely memorable,” he stated. “Whether it’s a vocal, a synth sound, or whatever, my music needs something uniquely memorable“
With major performances lined up at festivals like Coachella, EDC Korea, Ultra, EDC Las Vegas, 2025 is shaping up to be a landmark year for Brown. ‘Wavey’ is expected to be a highlight in his sets, delivering the raw energy and memorable hooks that fans have come to expect.

Spotify, the major music and podcast streaming platform, is testing a new function for premium subscribers. This new Snooze option allows users to hide tracks they have on recommendations for about 30 days. This serves as a short break from hearing the track if it’s too overplayed.
Snooze And Other Updates
The option will pop up for users once they decide to hide a track, removing it from the recommendations for 30 days. Although the option is only available for premium subscribers at the moment, the platform will open it to more listeners eventually. The hide button is also seeing an upgrade. Now, the button will remove a track from recommendations across all your devices, instead of a single device.
Moreover, the premium user queue enjoys a couple of upgrades. The new design includes Smart Shuffle, Shuffle, Repeat, and Sleep Timer options. After the queued-up tracks end, subscribers will have access to Spotify’s recommended tracks. A new edit includes an improvement for mobile playlist management. This involves new buttons like Add, Sort, and Edit at the top of each playlist.
Users in the US, Canada, UK, Australia, Ireland, New Zealand, and South Africa can now turn liked tracks into new playlists with an added Create button at the bottom-right of the screen. This will help you build playlists or join shared ones. The Create button also allows you to listen to music with friends and access AI playlists.
Lastly, Spotify added an update to the desktop app, allowing users to check out previews of tracks, playlists, albums, and artists just like one can on the mobile app.

Attorneys for Sean “Diddy” Combs plan to claim there was mutual violence between Combs and ex-girlfriend Cassie Ventura, who is expected to testify as a star witness for the prosecution.
Defense attorney Marc Agnifilo told US District Judge Arun Subramanian during a hearing that he plans to show there was mutual violence between Sean “Diddy” Combs and Casandra “Cassie” Ventura. Ventura is expected to testify against Combs as a star witness for the prosecution.
Judge Subramanian seemed reluctant to allow the defense to introduce evidence of alleged violence on Ventura’s part, but said he would rule on the issue on Monday. A jury of 12 New Yorkers is also set to be finalized on Monday ahead of opening statements.
Initially, jury selection was due to wrap on Friday, but Judge Subramanian pushed it back to Monday over concerns that jurors might drop out over the weekend if the panel was finalized as originally planned. On Monday morning, a pool of 45 prospective jurors will be narrowed down to 12, with six alternates. This phase is expected to last less than an hour, with opening statements set to follow.
The 55-year-old Combs has pleaded not guilty to one count of racketeering conspiracy, two counts of sex trafficking, and two counts of transportation to engage in prostitution, all of which are felonies. If he is convicted, he could face life in prison. He has been held without bail in a federal facility in Brooklyn since his arrest in September.
As the trial gears up, Judge Subramanian admonished lawyer Mark Geragos—notably not on Combs’ defense team—for referring to the prosecutors in the case as a “six-pack of white women” in comments on a podcast last week. In a May 2 episode of “Two Angry Men,” a podcast he co-hosts with TMZ founder Harvey Levin, Geragos remarked that the racial and gender composition of the prosecution team was “interesting.”
“That’s something that you shouldn’t, that no one should be saying as an officer of the Court and a member of the bar,” Judge Subramanian told Geragos on Tuesday before jury selection resumed. “Referring to the prosecution in this case as a six-pack of white women is outrageous.”
While Geragos is not representing Combs in the trial, his daughter, Teny Geragos, is one of Combs’ defense attorneys. He asserted he was not trying to interfere with the case, but that defendants had a right to respond to “negative pre-trial publicity.”
“When you’ve got a Black man who’s being prosecuted, and the client feels like he’s being targeted, it’s […] an observation,” said Geragos.
Prosecutor Christy Slavik remarked that with millions of subscribers to Geragos’ podcast, “the danger of [his] statements infecting the jury pool, I think, is very serious.”
Subramanian concluded that he will be monitoring comments made on the podcast as the trial continues.

Martin Garrix & Mesto – Limitless (Arcando Remix)
Things have officially come full circle for one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Artists to Watch in 2025. Exactly a year removed from Martin Garrix unsuspectingly including Arcando’s “Jungle” remix in his Ultra 2024 tracklist, Garrix tasked Arcando with transforming “Limitless” with Mesto into a drum ‘n’ bass weapon. Slotted just moments before Garrix would also debut the pair’s currently unreleased collaboration, Arcando’s “Limitless” take was a decisive fan-favorite moment of the weekend, turning Garrix and Mesto’s original entirely upside down. And just over a month later, it would deservedly lead to his fourth official release via STMPD RCRDS.
Joris Voorn – Tomorrow
Joris Voorn has returned with the latest single from his upcoming album Serotonin, scheduled for July 18 via his own imprint Spectrum in collaboration with Armada Music. Written during a period of deep personal reflection, “Tomorrow” captures the emotional essence of the album, a project that he explains is shaped by loss, reconnection, and a renewed sense of purpose. “Tomorrow” serves as a taste of the warmth, introspection, and timeless quality that will ultimately define the 14-track album, which also features collaborations with the likes of Tom Walker, Yotto and White Lies, and Nathan Nicholson.
STAR SEED, N3WPORT & Micah Martin – One Night
Another melodic dubstep gem has made its way into the Ophelia Records release record. And that comes courtesy of three artists that are no stranger to releasing on Seven Lions’ label: former Dancing Astronaut Artist to Watch STAR SEED, N3WPORT, and Micah Martin. Melding melodic dubstep with a rock-instilled vocal backing from Martin, “One Night” offers the best of both genre worlds that will undoubtedly result in a fan-favorite label release when the year is all said and done.
Layton Giordani, Linney, and Sarah de Warren – Act of God (CamelPhat Remix)
Just a couple of weeks removed from their first original of 2025, CamelPhat are back to offer another heavy undertaking. This time it’s for Layton Giordani, Linney, and Sarah de Warren’s ID-turned-fan favorite release, “Act Of God.” Marking the British duo’s first appearance on Experts Only, CamelPhat have made their move back into the world of melodic techno by reimagining a track that previously held a seat amongst Dancing Astronaut‘s most-anticipated IDs of 2025. Making the rounds across every social media platform from its initial unveiling during Miami Music Week all the way to CamelPhat’s set at the Pyramids in Egypt, their “Act Of God” remix will undeniably continue its push into tracklists across the scene in the coming months.
William Black, Siberia & Freja The Dragon – Waiting On This Day Forever
William Black’s currently unnamed fourth album has its second piece. After delivering “Save Me” with Kate Morgan at the end of March, Black introduced “Waiting On This Day Forever” for those in attendance at Beyond Wonderland. And release day has come a month later, with Black recruiting both Siberia and Freja The Dragon to Lost In Dreams for a release that further reaffirms Black as one of melodic bass’s finest talents and continues to build the anticipation for his looming next LP.
Eli Brown – Wavey
Eli Brown is continuing his torrid stretch of techno supremacy. “Wavey” — arriving via both Insomniac Records and Higher Ground — has received the honor of being the official festival anthem of next weekend’s edition of EDC Las Vegas. “Wavey” was one of the standout IDs during his two weekend stop at Coachella’s Yuma Tent, with Brown accurately describing the single as “one of the highlights of [his] sets recently.”
Sara Landry & LEGZDINA – Pressure (Indira Paganotto Remix)
Indira Paganotto’s reimagining of Sara Landry and LEGZDINA’s “Pressure” marks the first remix from Spiritual Driveby, Landry’s debut album and one of Dancing Astronaut‘s Top Albums of 2025. Fittingly debuted during Sara Landry’s Blood Oath takeover of Coachella’s DoLab when Landry went back-to-back with both Paganotto and Amelie Lens, Paganotto’s take on “Pressure” is the first time the two techno trail blazers have formally collaborated on a piece of music.
Calvin Harris & Clementine Douglas – Blessings
Summer may not officially start until June 20, but Calvin Harris has already delivered one of the defining soundtracks to the season. Guided by an undeniably catchy vocal from Clementine Douglas, “Blessings” is Harris in vintage form with its upbeat house framework, and it leaves no surprise as to why it quickly exploded online following his initial teaser and its subsequent speedy release.

Snapchat has announced ‘Under the Ghost,’ a new music performance series hosted at the company’s Santa Monica studio. The new series debuted with Kid Cudi and a timed release of his new single, “Neverland.”
Snapchat says the new music performance series isn’t about polished perfection, but rather offers an unfiltered glimpse into the creative process. The series is intended to invite fans into the artist’s inner circle, to hear raw takes of new music. Snapchat calls it a ‘digital backstage pass’ aimed at fostering a genuine connection that goes beyond the typical artist-fan dynamic.
Kid Cudi performed a pre-release concert for an intimate audience of Snap Stars and superfans, debuting “Neverland” and more unreleased music live for the first time. He also sat down to speak with Head of Music Strategy Manny Adler to answer a few questions about his new music.
“Neverland” is now available globally, with the track marking the beginning of a new era for Kid Cudi. It sets the stage for his upcoming short film of the same name, Neverland, directed by filmmaker Ti West and produced by Jordan Peele’s Monkeypaw Productions. The film will premiere at the Tribeca Film Festival in June.
Snap has eagerly embraced the music industry in a way that rival social media like X/Twitter has not. Recently, Digital Music News reported that Snap Inc. finalized several licensing agreements with major music publishers under deal terms structured by the National Music Publishers’ Association. Now the ‘Under the Ghost’ series gives musicians a chance to showcase music early to superfans who are likely to turn their listening into influencing online.
‘Under the Ghost’ presents a strategic offering for brands with unique sponsorship opportunities including sponsored Snaps, creator content, total takeover placements, and more. The series also offers advertisers a premium way to tap into music, culture, and community—all built into Snapchat to engage Gen Z and millennial audiences.

On Thursday, May 15th Dave Lee JN, Horse Meat Disco, Greg Wilson, and many more will be taking to the stage at Ministry of Sound. Says Travis Derrick, Head of Talent, “We’re proud to host ‘Dance for Yamz’ at Ministry of Sound in memory of Andy. It’s about giving back to someone who gave so much.” Tickets are only £10 for this excellent event with all proceeds going to Williams’ family to support them through this hard time.
Williams had a hand in all different sectors of dance music being an accomplished DJ, producer, and label head. He founded great labels such as ISM Records, Midnight Riot, and Black Riot which all played host to some amazing music including his own. He had a significant impact in the dance music world especially in the UK where he was beloved by all those who got to meet him.
Though Andy Williams may be gone, his legacy will live on and what better way to celebrate all that he has done than by dancing the night away in his memory. The lineup is fantastic, the price is amazing, but more than anything the cause is truly special.

It’s New Music Friday, and today. Trance legend Armin van Buuren‘s drops his latest track, ‘Bach To The Future’ in collaboration with fellow Dutch artist BLR. This exciting release is available now on Armada Music. Fans have already experienced this tune in numerous Armin shows this year, and it’s time you gave it a listen. Don’t miss out on this genre-crossing banger—let us know what you think!
‘Bach To The Future’
‘Bach To The Future’ represents a bold and transformative departure from Armin van Buuren’s established uplifting trance roots. This track boldly embraces a darker, more experimental edge, capturing the essence of his artistic evolution. The title itself pays homage to the legendary composer Johann Sebastian Bach, and this influence resonates clearly in the cinematic orchestral intro, where Baroque-style melodies set the tone. Stepping away from the traditional euphoric synths and soaring melodies, Armin masterfully fuses classical Baroque elements with a formidable techno foundation, resulting in a genre-defying piece that is both cinematic and primed for the dance floor. The orchestral introduction reflects the precision of Bach’s compositions, artfully paving the way for thunderous drops fueled by gritty basslines and dynamic percussive elements.
This artistic shift is further elevated by the creative touch of co-producer BLR, whose signature deep and brooding production style infuses the track with sophisticated techno-house sophistication. BLR’s influence adds remarkable weight and depth, enhancing Armin’s energy with moody textures and a compelling minimalist drive. Together, they have crafted a groundbreaking anthem that marries classical composition with cutting-edge electronic power, propelling Armin into uncharted sonic realms while showcasing his remarkable evolution as an artist.
Armin van Buuren is set for an exciting summer! Starting next week, he will be performing across North America, including vibrant cities like Chicago, Las Vegas, Toronto, and Montreal. Don’t miss your chance to experience his incredible sets live! Following his North American tour, he will be dazzling fans in Europe. Be sure to check out all of his tour dates here. Concord has officially acquired Broadway Licensing Global (BLG). Photo Credit: Erik Mclean
Concord has officially acquired self-described “global leader in theatrical licensing and distribution” Broadway Licensing Global (BLG).
The acquisition-minded Concord reached out with word of its latest purchase, the assets from which will become part of the seven-year-old Concord Theatricals unit. Most notably, this division will house BLG imprint Broadway Licensing, which licenses A Night with Janis Joplin and The Cher Show, to name a couple.
Likewise set to operate under the Concord Theatricals banner are Broadway Licensing Global subsidiaries Dramatists Play Service, Playscripts, and Stage Rights (A Cappella and Country Is: The Music of Main Street in Concert), the buyer indicated.
“At this time,” Concord elaborated on LinkedIn, “the customer experience remains unchanged. Customers should continue to work with their respective licensing houses.”
Though Nashville-based Concord (which recently touted the many 2025 Tony Award nominees in its catalog) didn’t dive into price-tag particulars, it did emphasize that the transaction excludes BLG’s Stageworks and Broadway On Demand.
The former imprint houses an “internal content development division” as well, while five-year-old Broadway On Demand, as its name suggests, brings the stage to the screen.
Concord (advised in the transaction by Reed Smith, Davis Wright Tremaine, and KPMG alike, with Barron International Group acting as the “exclusive financial advisor”) also took the opportunity to reiterate its theatrical presence.
Concord Theatricals is said to be “the only firm providing truly comprehensive services to creators and producers of plays and musicals,” referring to licensing, publishing, cast recording, and more.
Meanwhile, the involved parties opted to rattle off some of the many authors and rightsholders behind Broadway Licensing Global, adviser here by Goldman and Proskauer Rose. Keeping the enthusiasm going in statements, execs drove home the deal’s perceived significance for Concord and the wider theater space.
(Side note on the executive front: Broadway Licensing founder and CEO Sean Cercone stepped away in March 2024, promptly launched a new company called Dramallama, and is apparently working on a play entitled “Sold Out.” “It’s about ambition, ego, power, and what happens when the spotlight turns off,” Cercone wrote on LinkedIn just this morning.)
“Concord’s mission is to champion authors by promoting and protecting their work and empowering theatre makers to help their shows reach audiences worldwide,” added Concord chief theatricals executive Sean Patrick Flahaven.
“Bringing together these catalogs combines 150 titles and 400 authors that are already shared between the companies, as well as creating new relationships,” the close to seven-year Concord exec proceeded in part.

What’s more, the track even recently featured in Tiësto’s groundbreaking performance broadcast live from the Formula 1 Miami Grand Prix.
Firstly, a powerful groovy melody is accompanied by a rugged, deep bassline. It’s a signature Odd Mob blend of driving bass house with tech house rhythms and dancefloor-ready production. And of course, interrupted by Harry’s distorted basslines. Secondly, the melodic hooks and vocal chops are courtesy of Tiesto. Furthermore, the dynamic arrangement features tension and release, both hallmarks of each artist’s style. It’s certainly perfect for the soundtrack of the desert as previously debuted. We can’t wait to see where it travels to.
Tiësto played this during his monumental three-hour headlining performance at Coachella’s Quasar stage, Weekend 1. In a truly special moment, Odd Mob joined the titan on stage. Their presence alone sent shockwaves through the crowd. The electrifying synergy between the two artists and the sheer impact of the track instantly resonated with the festivalgoers and beyond. The moment exploded across social media and generated a staggering over 4 million views on social media. So now that the track is officially out, the already fervent anticipation can settle.
For Odd Mob, 2025 is showing no sign of slowing down with back-to-back North American tours, his own branded Headline shows, plus a newly announced Las Vegas residency at Wynn and global festival appearances. Harry continues his meteoric rise as one of the most unique leaders in global electronic music.
Lastly, Goodboys duo, Josh Grimmett and Ethan Shore, started in 2014. They carved out their unique sound of darker, more energetic aspects of dance music with accessible, melodic euphoria of pop. Their debut single, “Piece Of Your Heart” with Meduza, achieved massive global success with over a billion streams, multi-platinum certifications worldwide, and a GRAMMY nomination. Their follow-up track, “Lose Control” featuring Becky Hill, quickly reached the UK Top 40 with over 450 million streams, achieving platinum status in the UK.
With its undeniable energy and combined star artist power, ‘Won’t Be Possible’ is poised to be an absolute anthem. Listen on all streaming platforms below.

UK tech company MOTH has developed a new “quantum-powered” AI music generator which it says respects the rights of those whose songs it has been trained on.
Dubbed Archaeo, the platform uses strictly artist-provided data, as opposed to “ethically murky, scraped datasets” which some AI platforms have been criticised for using.
READ MORE: Will GTA 6 change the way gamers discover music?
MOTH also claims the platform is enhanced by quantum computing, marking a “breakthrough in quantum’s real-world creative applications – with wider potential across music, media, gaming and more”.
Quantum computing is a developing technology which uses the principles of quantum mechanics to perform calculations, in theory significantly speeding up performance of certain functions.
In order to showcase the capabilities of Archaeo, MOTH has teamed up with British electronic artist ILĀ to create RECURSE, a new track which uses the quantum-powered AI. Showcased online via a 24/7 interactive stream, RECURSE generates and evolves in real time.
“This is a defining moment – not just for MOTH, but for the future of creativity itself,” says Dr. Ilana Wisby, CEO of MOTH. “RECURSE demonstrates the power of quantum AI to support and enhance, and not just take from, artists. It’s a blueprint for a new kind of creative technology – one that’s driven by imagination, rooted in ethics and designed to serve artists, not replace them.
“With Archaeo, we’ve supercharged generative AI by plugging a quantum capability into the engine room empowering artists like ILĀ to break new creative boundaries in ways never before possible.”
“Working with MOTH’s technology was a fascinating experience and has helped me create something genuinely new which feels like it’s pushing boundaries,” ILĀ continues. “As a tool, it focuses on expanding creative possibilities rather than simply replacing the artist. This feels very much like a collaboration – working with a technology that’s pushing me to do new, interesting, and surprising things.”
“AI predicts what’s likely. Quantum reveals what’s possible,” Dr. Wisby says. “That’s the future we’re building. Archaeo isn’t just another generative AI tool – it’s a quantum-powered engine for creativity. Our collaboration with ILĀ is a demonstration of what’s possible when we stop training models on the past and start creating tools that empower artists to define the future on their own terms.”

Myd is still donning the sporty, dark Ray-Bans he wore during his seven-day live stream in his LED-lit recording studio. With these sunglasses on, Myd recorded music, collaborated with friends, cooked meals, attended 1-to-1 yoga and massage sessions, hosted DJ parties, spoke with fans on the phone, and triggered smoke machines, all within the walls of his studio in France. Only when he was asleep, still streaming via a night vision camera, could the tens of thousands of Twitch viewers see him without his shades — it was the only time those LED lights weren’t completely destroying his eyes, he says.
What drove Myd, real name Quentin Lepoutre, to document these seven days so intimately? Aside from obvious reasons, like marketing and fan engagement, the French producer was really just trying to hit a deadline set by his label, Ed Banger, for his upcoming album All that Glitters Is Not Gold.
READ MORE: Myd’s 10-hour Christmas Dinner soundtrack features mixes from Busy P, Laurent Garnier, Sarah Story and more
“I mean, it was pretty simple,” he says, chuckling. “I lost the two songs I was about to release [The Wizard and Song For You]. In an album campaign, you have key dates to hit — luckily, I had the backup of the unfinished songs, but I needed to get in the studio and finish them again. But I was like, ‘How can I make that process more fun and special?’”

The jokester producer has been a promising act in the indie dance scene since signing to Ed Banger in 2017. Tracks like 2017’s The Sun and 2021’s Moving Men (feat Mac DeMarco) have racked up millions of streams and helped propel him onto stages like the Paralympics Paris 2024 opening ceremony. He’s also had some less conventional performances, like the time he played a tour around Paris in a truck with label boss Busy P, and his successful series of weekly CoMyd-19 sets, which saw Lepoutre DJ’ing and speaking with viewers on a hotline during the COVID-19 pandemic.
Lepoutre has a knack for engaging with his fans. But before this 168-hour live stream, the artist hadn’t given his audience much of a look at his studio process and the work he puts into it.
“I wanted to show the real me,” he says. “I wanted you to see who I am, day and night. And also show what inspires me, who my friends are, who I like to DJ with — but, also, it could be watching videos, getting inspired by video games. It was part of all that. And sleeping, too. People know I love to sleep now.”
Lepoutre delivered big time on his promise. As mentioned, the streams (all available on Twitch) went way beyond just watching him play synths and click around on Ableton Live; they helped Lepoutre break down the “fantasy” he once had that music-makers are more productive when they spend more time in front of their DAW, he says. “I discovered little by little that it’s not the solution; it’s about having your brain in good condition, taking care of your health, and seeing people getting inspired. It’s as important as what you will do when you are in front of your computer or in front of your synths or drum machines, because the spark that makes a good song.”
Myd’s ideal is four to six hours of studio time a day, not at night, and not placing any pressure on himself while he’s in there. He says that opening a blank DAW project can be daunting — what are you supposed to make? The only way to get over that “frightening” feeling, he adds, is to get into a routine of being in the studio and constantly flexing your creative muscles. Lepoutre thanks the enigmatic Gesaffelstein for helping him realise this lesson.
“We used to be on the same label,” explains Lepoutre. One day he told me, ‘I’m starting my new album’ – I don’t remember which one, maybe his second album — and I was like, ‘Oh, that must be so cool’. And he said, ‘No, that’s not cool. That’s frightening as fuck.’ And he was already big [at this point] and had a thing going, so I’ve never forgotten that — it made me realise that it’s part of [being creative]. And a lot of artists, especially young ones, need to understand that it’s just part of music production.”
Was being locked in the studio for 168 hours a frightening experience for Lepoutre, then? Not exactly.
Although he was relatively isolated from the outside world — he left his smartphone, Twitch comments and social media outside of the studio — Lepoutre was more creative than usual. He was working faster, more efficiently, and was feeling more inspired to finish the two tracks. In lieu of a smartphone, he hooked up a hotline (as seen in the CoMyd-19 series) and a makeshift fax machine to receive messages from viewers, and was inviting friends over every day to jam and keep ideas fresh. Such friends included Pedro Winter aka Busy P, Canblaster, Antoine Bourachot and more.

Each collaborator joined Myd, not necessarily to finish a part of the song, but to bring new ideas to his growing bank of sounds. “That’s really how I make music and start albums,” Lepoutre says. “I create the palette. My studio is made for happy accidents to happen; I can plug anything into an amp and record it and pass it through a pedal — any instrument and sound that I like. So I invited Canblaster with his modular synthesiser, and the way it sounds here…It sounds like my album, but it brings his perspective. I also invited a percussionist and we made ambient sounds with percussion and flutes. It was really good.”
Lepoutre is inspired by the tactile gear in his studio, too. For his upcoming album, including the tracks The Wizard and Song For You, the producer often reached for his Sequential Prophet-5, which he calls the “weird cousin” of the Roland Juno synths and with a more futuristic sound — “it’s important for me to have something sharper and colder to add to the weirdness.” For drums, Myd can’t stay away from the Roland TR-909‘s groove and unmistakable sound — “it always sounds like a 909, but it can make a track so special.”
A new addition to his studio is the Rupert Neve Designs‘ Shelford Channel — a “wonderful” compressor, EQ and preamp that Lepoutre now uses on all his recordings. His “last essential piece” is the Lexicon PCM91 reverb, which he says gives him the “sweaty” sounds that he relates to being in nightclubs, where he’s been performing and DJing a lot recently.
The footage from the stream and the way Lepoutre talks about the 7-day lock-in make it sound like a breeze. But, frankly, it didn’t come without its challenges. The biggest challenge for him is finishing music, which he points out is probably the same for many musicians. Even without the cameras, Lepoutre would’ve struggled, but the first day or so of the stream was unnerving — he received no calls, no messages and no feedback. “It was only later that people joined the live and understood what was happening,” he explains. “Nowadays, when you send a message or post on social media, you expect a response really quickly. And it sounds weird, but the mindfuck for me was not getting any feedback.”
“But did it help my music? Maybe, because I was not thinking at all about the classic feedback. Like, ‘If I use this synth, it’s not cool because it’s a Behringer and not a Moog’. I was just doing music because I was doing music, so it was pretty interesting to detach totally from feedback. Also, yeah, it was also hard living in the same place and people spamming the smoke machine from Twitch,” he laughs.
In the end, Myd finished those tracks ahead of time. And, at the time of writing, he’ll be dropping his new album in less than a month, with a new single, All that Glitters is not Gold (feat. Channel Tres, Trueno), out now. Does he recommend that other artists lock themselves in a studio for a week, too?
“Definitely, yes…But lock yourself in an inspiring environment. You have to find yours — that’s maybe the most complicated part. But I think getting a bit away from social media, not listening to too much of other people’s music…Find what inspires you as an artist and get surrounded by it.”

Mortgage payments and morning meetings have long been the sworn enemies of nightlife, until now, thanks to a new series of "30 Over Raves" in Austin.
The paradox of adulthood—yearning for the carefree nights of youth while treasuring your sleep schedule—finds its resolution May 31st in the Live Music Capital. If you're too old for the afters but too young to justify binging Netflix and frozen mochi on a Saturday night, the new series offers the perfect compromise: party like it's the 2010s golden era of EDM, but with the wisdom of a 401(k).
The event is the brainchild of Secret Disco Society, one of Austin's top electronic music event organizers. In perhaps the most revolutionary and shocking concept to hit rave culture, doors open at the dignified hour of 6pm and close at 9pm, catering to a generation caught between nostalgic FOMO and the genuine fear of functioning on five hours of sleep.
"The '30 Over Rave' was born from a desire to flip the script," Secret Disco founder Tanner Friesen tells EDM.com. "We've always tried to create unforgettable moments by thinking outside the box, whether that means choosing a nontraditional venue, flipping the timeframe or tapping into a different audience. This time, we asked: 'What if we threw a late-night-style rave… in the middle of the day… for the 30-plus crowd?'"
The soundtrack promises to transport attendees back to their EDM glory days, when Avicii was triggering spiritual dancefloor awakenings, Zedd's "Clarity" was healing the wounds of breakups, and you raved to Swedish House Mafia's "Don't You Worry Child" before having children. DJs will be spinning timeless tracks from those legends and more.
"Nostalgia was a huge driver," Friesen explains. "Secret Disco has been building community for over four years, and while we’ve welcomed an amazing new wave of young fans, a lot of our original audience has grown up with us. This was our chance to honor those OGs—people who lived through the golden era of EDM—and give them a space that feels both familiar and totally unexpected."
The next "30 Over Rave" is scheduled for May 31st at Austin's Vulcan Gas Company. Tickets are on sale now for $18.

Hey Renaissance! Glad to have you here to talk with you about your latest release ‘Dust’. Thanks for having me Edm Nomad Fam, it’s always a pleasure talking to you!
Can you please tell us more details about ‘Dust’? How did it come to life and when and how did you decide with Taylr Renee to produce it? The idea was to have a powerful track to play at festivals. I’ve always liked the drops that have synths created by vocal chops mixed with a current techno sound. Perfect combo! The track was initially born with a vocal created with AI (I’m a big fan and I like to experiment), but a vocal was missing. My team and I sent the idea to Taylor, who enthusiastically accepted immediately and in a few hours sent the final version.
What sets ‘Dust’ apart from your previous work, and why should listeners tune in?  I think it’s a very energetic track that can be listened to at festivals, in the gym, in the car. I also think it has the perfect mix between the current sound and that of the historical EDM. How would you describe your sound? I would say Bigroom Techno. The key word is energy!
Who is Renaissance and why music? At what age did you get into music and how?  My name is Ale, I’m 33 years old and I’ve been making music since I was 20. I started making music thanks to Gabry Ponte, of whom I’m a fan after seeing him in a show in my village. After the show I said: ”This is what I want to do”.
Before dropping the Renaissance project, I was part of a duo with a friend.
Do you remember the name of the first song that made you love electronic music?  Yes, Spaceman by Hardwell Who or what has been your biggest inspiration throughout your music journey? I definitely started with Gabry Ponte and then continued with Hardwell. What’s the one activity you love doing in your free time when not making music? I like cars and I am a big fan of AC Milan. Living in the mountains I also like to go for walks. Can you tell us more about your dream and future collaboration and what do you hope to achieve in the next 5 years in your professional career? I want to open a music studio that can become the headquarters of Renaissance and that can give the opportunity to work to other emerging artists and not to believe in their own dream as I did. I also want to bring music to festivals and play at Tomorrowland. I would like to collaborate with many artists, but I am superstitious and I will not say the names This is all for now. Thank you for your time answering our questions. Where can our community find out more about your music and your future releases? Thanks for the opportunity! You can find me on Instagram renaissance_dj and listen to my music on all streaming platforms! Ciao EDMNOMAD

Visionary live act, DJ, and producer Innellea has announced the launch of his highly anticipated label, belonging – a boundary-defying creative sanctuary. Here, music, art, and community converge. The imprint arrives with the release of ‘Inside Your Mind,‘ a collaboration with TH:EN and Carlo Whale. This collaboration marks the first chapter in the unfolding story of this new venture.
‘Inside Your Mind’
‘Inside Your Mind’ masterfully bridges the gap between Indie Dance, Melodic Techno, and Big Room Techno. It features one of the most distinctive and propulsive hooks in recent memory. This track is already extensively road-tested and community-approved. It has become a standout in recent sets by electronic heavyweights such as Tiësto (who included it in his Coachella performance), Anyma, Camelphat, Korolova, Miss Monique, and Massano. The collaboration has generated insatiable anticipation across social media platforms.
The single marks a natural progression following the success of Innellea’s collaboration with MEDUZA on “Edge Of The World.” It establishes the foundational ethos of the belonging label. The track explores the introspective journey of questioning where we truly belong. It builds toward a crescendo of rave-fueled energy and hope. Consequently, it invites the listener to reconnect with themselves and the world through rhythm.
Since emerging in 2019, Innellea has rapidly ascended from being a secret weapon for techno’s leading DJs. He has become a globally recognized force. Innellea achieved success with releases on prestigious imprints like Afterlife, Innervisions, and Diynamic. His artistic journey has evolved through conceptual live tours including ‘Distorted Youth,’ ‘Five Phases,’ and most recently, The Belonging. These projects extend beyond music to weave intricate narratives of personal growth, unity, and shared catharsis.
The establishment of belonging represents a bold new chapter for Innellea. It could redefine the contours of his sound while staying true to his ethos. He believes that the dancefloor is a sacred space. Moreover, it is a melting pot of unity and diversity where freedom reigns supreme.

Whether it was electronic artists claiming the lion's share of the lineup or the countless individuals roaming Empire Polo Club with "sprouts" on their heads, the message in Indio this year was loud and clear: EDM and rave culture are reshaping Coachella.
As the merciless desert sun gradually lowered its bright yellow hues into the horizon, the iridescent structures within the fabled venue came alive as if through some sort of chromatic hypnosis. From the newly installed inflatable flower display to the iconic Ferris wheel, the expansive stages and art installations turned the festival into a nocturnal technicolor wonderland.
With darkened skies and thumping basslines emanating from multiple stages, the energy of the festival had palpably shifted, drawing parallels to the vibes found at beloved EDM fests like Tomorrowland and EDC.
Courtesy of Coachella
From its inception, dance music has always been a part of the sonically diverse landscape that is Coachella. Elements of rave culture were long relegated to the confines of the festival's beloved Yuma tent, the fan-favorite Do LaB or the storied Sahara stage. But rarely did those heart-pounding beats make it past the Ferris wheel.
However, as the tentacles of rave culture continue to grip social media and the airwaves, the trailblazing festival had to adapt. After expanding its footprint in 2024 to include the stunning new Quasar stage, which was designed with extended DJ sets in mind, Coachella doubled down in 2025.
From 'Chella veterans to first-timers, we caught up with a handful of influential DJs in Indio to discuss how dance music is changing the landscape of this multi-genre festival.
TOKiMONSTA
For TOKiMONSTA, returning to the Empire Polo Club is like coming home. Having first performed at Coachella in 2011, the LA native has a strong connection to the legendary festival.
"One of the main things that's special about Coachella is that it's close to home," she tells EDM.com. "I'm from LA, so this is our festival. Regardless of the press or influencers, all of our friends get together here. It's always so well-curated and there's always something here for everyone."
After attending Weekend One as a fan, TOKiMONSTA was excited to return the following weekend and DJ at the DoLaB stage, where she first performed exactly a decade ago.
"The DoLaB stage is such a unique presence at this festival, and it's crazy to think that it was exactly 10 years ago when I first played there," she recalls.
TOKiMOSTA's Coachella appearance came on the heels of the release of Eternal Reverie, a warm, scintillating album she describes as a rediscovery of self. After having to cancel a tour due to a family emergency, she's now poised to hit the road in mid-May, but not before allowing herself to enjoy the diverse soundscapes found at Coachella.
"I make music because I'm a fan of music, so it's nice to be a fan at this festival and see artists like Lady Gaga, who was incredible," TOKiMONSTA adds. "I'm not the type of person who will sit in the middle of the crowd—it gives me anxiety—but I was there in the pit watching. It was so captivating."
As a multi-genre producer herself, she touched on the importance of representation in a festival like Coachella.
"The magic of this festival is that you come here just to see where the winds take you. It's always about the random sets that you pass by, and you say, 'What is that sound?' and you find someone new."
Massano
As a Coachella first-timer, Massano represented the burgeoning melodic techno scene with a b2b set alongside Mind Against. The red-hot Liverpool producer, who recently released one of the year's best debut albums, had finally shaken off the jet-lag from Weekend One and was excited for round two inside the Yuma.
"I'm excited to be playing alongside Mind Against and I'm kind of getting used to it now that I've played Weekend One," Massano said. "Since we're going to have the livestream for Weekend Two, there's going to be some stuff we wanna show off that will be different."
The impression that melodic techno has made on American audiences is not lost on Massano, who grew up listening to legendary bands like The Prodigy and Faithless before being influenced by the sounds of CamelPhat and ARTBAT. He's now a vital contributor to the genre's recent surge in stateside popularity, especially after being selected as one of the lucky few to open for Anyma during the Italian techno superstar's groundbreaking Las Vegas Sphere residency, a "once-in-a-lifetime opportunity" for which he feels immense gratitude.
"It's exciting," Massano says of melodic techno's rising prominence. "It's obviously been a crazy time the last three to four years in terms of everyone coming up in the scene. It's nice to see the hype come up from the likes of Afterlife and Tale of Us, and now I think everyone's starting to carve their own paths and people are developing their own sounds."
After his second stint inside the Yuma, Massano said he planned to be one with the people and walk around Coachella in hopes of catching sets by Travis Scott and Keinemusik.
Indira Paganotto
As a member of Blood Oath, the trio of femme fatales who took over the DoLaB during Weekend One, techno superstar Indira Paganotto was already in high spirits when discussing the experience of the festival's second weekend.
"The Yuma stage is so special," she gushes. "I'm a really big fan of the chill vibes, the underground hypnotic vibes. You see the people smiling with their eyes closed, and you can see they are traveling in outer space. I think Yuma was the perfect beginning in our mission."
That mission? The EDM.com Class of 2023 alum plays her cards close to her chest, only expressing that she was part of a global phenomenon that includes fellow techno superstar Sara Landry, who had been named to the following year's Class.
"My sister Sara Landry is the pioneer of hard techno, and I love that," Paganotto says. "She's kind of like Mulan from Disney. We are women who don't care, and we seek the truth and we follow."
Opening up about her love of psytrance, Paganotto characterized the genre as poetic and romantic. "Psy has these beautiful Indian and ancestral sounds that are slowly getting to America. I think in a few years they will understand completely," she said.
Born and raised in Spain, she was thousands of miles away from the Goan shores where psytrance originated. When asked how she was introduced to the genre, she pointed to her father, who was a traveling doctor and spent time in India healing disadvantaged youth.
"My mom was an Italian super romantic listening to opera while my father was the hippie in the family," she continued. "He was a doctor without borders and was helping people in Asia, where he was introduced to the parties in Goa. Since it was the hippie movement, I think I may have a lot of brothers and sisters that I don't know about, if you know what I'm saying."
However, Paganotto, whose latest album is set to be released later this year, hopes she doesn't get pigeonholed strictly as a techno or psytrance artist.
"I'm not part of the techno scene, and I'm not part of psy. I'm just an artist," she affirms. "I love to cook, I love animals, I love people and I love music. And this is just the beginning."
Pete Tong and Ahmed Spins
As they prepared for their second Coachella performance together, Pete Tong and Ahmed Spins came into the desert with two distinct perspectives. For Tong, the desert is a familiar landscape, having been a part of the festival since the early 2000s.
"I was lucky to be here the second or third year, and I've watched it grow," Tong told us. "I know the crew and I'm very proud of the effort they put into the build, every year it changes. After Quasar came aboard last year, it's evolved again this year, and the Sahara seems to get bigger and bigger, and it keeps moving around. That's what keeps it interesting."
And then there's Spins, whose b2b sets with Tong mark the first time he's ever walked the grounds of the Empire Polo Club. Their performance inside the Yuma could be seen as a sort of passing of the torch from a veteran 'Chella performer to a bright-eyed and bushy-tailed first-timer.
"It's my first time here, and it's been awesome. I have friends and family here with me and we walked around and took it in," Spins said, calling Tong a "legend" with whom it's an honor to DJ.
As for the trailblazing Tong, he's now gearing up for yet another musical venture later this year.
"I'm actually starting another label called Places in Spaces, which will focus more on my music," he said. "That will start rolling out in the summer."
