A little less than two weeks ago, ILLENIUM teased some sort of collaboration with Batman, the popular franchise from DC Comics, coming out April 22. While we’re still two days away, he surprised fans with his first remix in over 2 years, tackling the iconic “Something In The Way” by Nirvana which saw renewed popularity after “The Batman” was released in theaters.
The remix is slower and more akin to wave than a lot of ILLENIUM’s most recent material, making this a truly special collaboration between one of the biggest EDM artists and one of the juggernauts of superhero comics.
In addition to the remix, fans can also check out some official Batman x ILLENIUM merchandise available this Friday.

There are many ways to solidify a dance record into an instant classic, yet for ÖWNBOSS and Sevek’s “Move Your Body,” this certification comes in the form of an official Tiësto edit, that has just arrived to light up dancefloors worldwide. Curating his unique signature style of house, we have the privilege to premiere another amazing track to his portfolio to his catalogue entitled, ‘Funk Accelerator. Expect smooth silky synth, bouncy basslines and heart skipping layers of grooving percussion.
Commenting on this production, Bleu states:
“For the longest time, I was playing around with the acapella of my song previously released single “Have Me All” and I tried to make a club version of the track out of it. I think dark and more underground vibe of the acapella will really spice up the tracklist of any DJ set. I hope that people will enjoy this one as much as I did creating it. The Glitch Mob’s very own Justin Boreta has been involved in a variety of lauded musical projects – but none more important than his latest work as a member of ambient/psychedelic duo Superposition and co-founder of the label Formless. Superposition and Formless both have the same mission – to create music with the intention of healing. Each project dives deep into spiritual concepts with the hopes of creating a healthy escape from the day-to-day grind.
Now for his latest endeavor, Boreta is once again pioneering novel ideas in uncharted territory. He partnered with renowned generative artist Aaron Penne, whose code-based artworks have been auctioned at Sotheby’s and Christie’s, displayed at international galleries and museums, and launched on Art Blocks. Boreta and Aaron Penne’s new joint project – “Rituals” – combines generative music and generative artwork to create immersive, innovative one-of-a-kind NFT’s (Non Fungible Token) made entirely from code. After the original NFT release (aka “minting”) last fall, Boreta and Penne are now announcing the release of -“Rituals”- in standard streaming format.
The track listing is carefully constructed, following an arc to echo the original IRL listening experience back in September 2021 as best as possible. The beginning welcomes you into the world of Rituals, as it takes the listener deeper as if slowly dipping underwater, interbeing with deep drone songs on either side, then reemerges facing the bright horizon of infinite possibility.
Justin and Aaron shared a vision to explore concepts such as the infinite, mindfulness, and connectivity in a generative project that included not just art, but music as a central element. They partnered with Tero Parviainen from Counterpoint Studio to design the audio system. Using Tero’s code, Justin created music that is capable of creating infinite variations within the constraints provided for that particular token, making each NFT entirely unique. The music and art are crafted to infinitely evolve, giving collectors a subtly new experience upon each viewing. If left running, a single Ritual will continue generating music and art without repeating for ~ 9 million years!
Boreta, Aaron and Bright Moments are intent on giving back to organizations they are passionate about. So far, the Rituals project has made charitable donations to the Alan Watts Foundation, Stonewall Alliance Center for LGBTQ+, Missing and Murdered Indigenous Women US, and the Surfrider Foundation.

Hailing from Long Island, the now Los Angeles-based Billboard charting artist AJ Salvatore has had a wild ride of a career. The young 25-year-old has had releases under Universal, Sony, gone on to chart at #12 on Billboard Dance Club Songs, #19 in the US Viral 50, #21 in the Global Viral 50, and released official remixes for Lil Yachty, Paris & Simo, Bleona, and Shaun Frank on Ultra Records. He’s also performed at EDC Orlando and opened for superstars such as Quix, Borgeous, Carnage, Ghastly, Alvin Risk, Dirty South, Shaun Frank, and SNBRN to name a few.
Choosing to keep a lot of his personal information to himself, 23 year old rapper TOKYO’S REVENGE appeared seemingly out of nowhere in 2018 with an aggressive, distorted style that reminded many listeners of the late XXXTentacion. His debut single“GOODMORNINGTOKYO!” was a viral hit, that when on to peak at #1 on the Billboard US Bubbling Under Hot 100 in 2019. The artist said in interviews he chose to stay anonymous so that listeners would experience his music without any outside associations based on where he was from or what scenes he was associated with. His anonymity didn’t keep listeners from playing his tracks on repeat, and soon his second single, “THOT!,” followed in the same viral footsteps of his first hit. In addition to two major singles, TOKYO’S REVENGE has gone on to release records with major artists such as The Kid Laroi and 24kGoldn.
Now, the two have come together for their hyped single “Vitamins” that is pure energy for the entire two minutes. AJ Salvatore’s production shines as he provides an energizing mix of trap and electronic beats, and pulsating baseline and TOKYO’S REVENGE fast spitting rap flows seamlessly overtop. There’s no doubt that these two make an excellent team and hopefully this is the start of many more collaborations between them both.
Here’s what AJ Salvatore had to say about it:

Eptic has been a producer’s producer for as long as we’ve been listening to him — since his earliest days on Never Say Die, to his couple singles on Monstercat, to his collaborations with DJ Snake or Marshmello. He always brings an extra edge to his productions.
Much like Space Laces who finally released his High Vaultage EP this year, fans have been clamoring for an Eptic album for a while after hearing what he can do with his numerous EPs like Flesh & Blood, Immortal, The End, or Doom. Now, across ten songs including collaborations with Dillon Francis, MARAUDA, MUST DIE!, and HOL!, we get Eptic at his most pure.
There’s a strong argument to be made that a lot of the collaborations overshadow the solo productions, as some are saying on social media. But I think the reality is that the collaborations give a break in the pacing that make them stand out. The way the album is arranged — 3 solo tracks, then 2 collabs, another 3 solo tracks, then 2 final collabs — provides symmetry and clear sections of the project. It’s actually a brilliant way to craft a tracklist.
And as many people are saying that the collaborations overshadow the solo productions, we get some classic Eptic trap and bass house in tracks like “Run It,” “Drum Beats,” and “Ultimate Flex,” complete with his signature sonic tags.
That being said, “Wall Of Death” with MARAUDA (the only single from the album) and “Skill Check” with MUST DIE! are absolute bangers in their own right.
You can check out the full album below now via Eptic’s own Overlord Music.

Swedish House Mafia, the trio of Steve Angello, Sebastian Ingrosso, and Axwell, have just released their long awaited debut full length Paradise Again, just as they head back to the California desert for a landmark headlining performance with The Weeknd to close out this weekend’s Coachella Festival.
The group has been teasing their “debut” album for months, apparently erasing their previous “debut,” Until Now, from 2012, as their debut of record. Regardless, the expansive 17-track features an equally expansive array of features, including The Weeknd, A$AP Rocky, Ty Dolla $ign, and Sting.
Paradise Again came together in the wake of rediscovering their musical synergy on the band’s 2019 reunion tour, spending countless hours in the studio over the course of the subsequent years, exorcizing new sonic palettes, textures, and tones from an arsenal of analog synths. While the new batch of material is recognizably Swedish House Mafia, it also represents an ambitious broadening of their musical scope, as evidenced by the wide ranging roster of collaborators and guests
“There’s always new ground to break,” states Angello. “However, the biggest challenge was to do what nobody expected us to. We needed to find sounds in the studio we had never heard before and were excited about. It’s super inspiring for me to be in a band where we actually want to challenge ourselves. This is definitely one of the most exciting times for us, because we’re having fun like 15-year-olds again.”

Melodic house and techno DJ/producer Luzi Tudor emerges in 2022 with a gorgeous display of artistry, as heard with her latest body of work Unbound: Victory of Love — out now on Lane 8’s label, This Never Happened.
The tasteful, 3-track EP relishes in aesthetically pleasing melodics and atmospheres, balancing deep, euphoric sequences with unexpected moments that sharpen the senses. Each track is a journey, blending innovative synth work and instinctual grooves, with each concept evolving and growing more powerful as it progresses.
But what really makes Unbound: Victory of Love special is the way it makes us feel. It’s the kind of music that touches your heart and soul — and you radiate a more positive vibration because of it.
Luzi shares of the release:
The tracks on this EP are inspired by the complexities of many forms of love I’ve stepped into this past year. From self-love, to romantic, to platonic and the movement of these over time is something that’s brought me a lot of personal growth. The catharsis of expressing these emotions through my music has been really liberating. I hope that when listening to this EP, people are transported into a state of bliss and can be comforted that while change is the only constant, love never goes away it just changes its shape and form.
Along with the music, Luzi shares part of her personal journey:
I drastically changed the course of my life 8 years ago by getting into recovery from substances and mental health concerns. One of my counselors used to say, “If no one has told you they love you today, or you don’t love yourself today, I do.” And that helped me not only get through the toughest time in my life, but it filled that space just long enough until I was able to start loving myself and accepting other people’s love for me. I hope this EP does just that for people. It’s the way that I can now spread love to others.
Listen here and experience the vast soundscapes of Luzi Tudor’s “Shuffled Hearts,” “Evolve” and “Into Me See.”

Ghost In Real Life is taking over in 2022 and we’re here for the “Metamorphosis.”
The LA-based producer / vocalist’s latest is all about going through phases and changes and fully embracing them. Considering Ghost In Real Life’s imminent rise in the bass music scene, the timing couldn’t be more appropriate.
“Metamorphosis” opens up with a melodic intro, layering GIRL’s signature, euphoric vocals with lush pads that set the scene for the track’s deep atmosphere. The energy builds from there, soon dropping into a colorful dubstep arrangement with playful sound design.

Lucille Croft isn’t afraid to reinvent herself — and the producer’s newly released, debut body of work does just that.
The 5-track EP introduces Patient X — one of what we’re expecting to be several personalities that distinguish Lucille’s ever-evolving project, showcasing a provocative, post-human concept based in excitement, romance, and rage.
From start to finish, Patient X packs in fierce energy border-lining on insanity, expertly switching up elements of cyberpunk mid-tempo, metal, bass, and pounding techno into a seamless and potentially deadly presentation.
Lucille Croft explains in her own words:
Essentially, Patient X is a fictional storyline and body of work I created about real experiences. It channels my love for games, fantasy, sci-fi, and channels my experiences as a woman in music, and me coming into my power.
Leading cuts include “Seduce / Destroy,” a collab with TMRRW called “Kill The Machine” featuring Bad/Love, and “Out For Blood.” However, we find the intro track “Post Human” and outro track “More Blood” to be just as satisfying. The EP also features consistent narration from Lucille, which personalizes the release even further.

R3HAB is back with another dance floor banger, this time he’s re-imagined Ginuwine’s 1996 debut classic “My Pony.” Built around the vocal hook of the original, R3HAB’s version of “My Pony” is a more brooding version of the boastful classic. Regardless of the more subdued lyrics, this song will have you dancing well into the night hours. And if you grew up with TRL like me, you’ve known these lyrics forever.
If you want it, let’s do it.
Ride it, my pony
My saddle’s waiting
Come on, jump on it
The track opens with some airy synths along with light pads. This version has lyrics that are way more palatable to a dance track. After the intro, the light pads give way to rumbling bass and more tempo. After that comes the familiar refrain as the bass and some synths build up in the background. The drop is groovy, but a little forlorn too, with a low droning horn synth. This all repeats for one more go-round. Here’s what R3HAB had to say about “My Pony.”
“I’m constantly experimenting with different styles and sounds. ‘My Pony’ is a bit more bass-driven and laid back than my catalog so far, and I’m excited for the variety it brings. This record has been a long time coming, and I’m glad to finally share it. I’m sure ‘My Pony’ will lift moods in the blink of an eye, and I can’t wait to play it live.”

It’s been a weird few years for all of us here on Planet Earth. However, things are finally starting to get back to normal as all of our favorite festivals are starting to crop back up after more than two years. As great as it is for fans to get back into action, the same goes even more so for the artists that we love to see perform live. As great as the thrill of being in the crowd is to all of us fans, I can’t even imagine the rush of performing on a massive stage in front of 50,000 fans.
After three years away, Ultra Music Festival returned to its rightful home in beautiful Bayside Park in Miami. Just as it was for the fans, it was a cathartic return to this iconic festival for all the artists involved after the long hiatus. One of those artists to return to Ultra a couple of weeks ago was legendary Dutch DJ/producer Nicky Romero.
To say that Nicky has been busy over the past couple of years would be an understatement. He’s put out a steady stream of releases showcasing his versatility as a producer including “Why Do I Call”, “Acid is My DNA” and “Okay.” He’s released collabs with Armin van Buuren and W&W, he’s remixed David Guetta & Afrojack’s Grammy-Nominated hit “Hero.” He’s unveiled his side project, Monocule and he’s also released a house EP, “See You on the Dancefloor.” We caught up with Nick after his highlight-filled Ultra set and talked about how it felt to be back, his new sounds, his new dog and much more.
Thanks for taking the time to talk to us, Nick, we appreciate it. The last time we talked was the end of 2019, the world’s a lot different place from what it was back then. Just tell us what you’ve been up to the last couple of years and how have you been redefining your sound?
“I know it’s been a really rough couple of years, but, at the same time I was pretty thankful. Because I had the time to reinvent myself, a lot of records that I really wanted to produce, but I never really had the time for. And, I tried to grow Monocule as a side project. So, it was a really, really tough time, but at the same time, I’m thankful that I was forced to take a step back.”
You’ve done a lot of stuff with Monocule, I really love that sound, and the last couple of tracks you’ve put out, they’ve been more like house vibes tracks. I remember in your Exchange LA set, you played a couple of house tunes, and I was like, oh, this is different. What inspired that, what made you want to do that type of sound?
“It’s the sound I used to do before progressive. So, when I was putting out records in 2010, it was like ‘Play ‘N Stop”, my track called ‘Camorra’, Green Velvet’s ‘Flash’ remix. Back in the day I made much more like tech-ier, groovy records, and people will be like ‘oh that’s a new sound,’ and it’s really not. It’s an old sound, but re-invented.”
You’re back at Ultra for the first time in two years, and it’s going to be the tenth anniversary of Protocol. Can you reflect on that and tell us what it means to be back here in Miami?
“Protocol Recordings was never really intended to turn ten years old, I guess. It just happened. We grew a great platform, I’m super thankful for all the artists that have contributed to the label. It’s not only me, it’s really a teamwork session, and I’m thankful for everyone, the fans have been so amazing. It’s been 10 years of Protocol, but it feels like the years have just flown by. Crazy, at the same time, it’s just a ride that I wouldn’t have wanted to miss in my life. Starting as a platform to put out records for beginning producers, and now, to be so established in the game, is really great.”
You showed up on stage with Timmy Trumpet, surprise to all of us here. Do you guys have anything in the works or is it just because you guys are buddies?
“We put out a record, ‘Falling.’ Maybe this is the start of something new? I have no idea, he’s a good guy, I have a lot of respect for Timmy, cool dude, working hard, good musician, so whenever he asks me for something, I’m really happy.”
Hopefully this is the beginning of tours and festivals being back on a regular basis. Where else will we see you touring this year?
“Probably everywhere, so long as they’re open. All of them; Tomorrowland, Ultra Europe.”
What other tracks are you working on for the rest of the year? Any surprises or collabs?
“I have a lot of collabs. I have a really cool collab coming from Monocule. I can’t say too much about it, but it’s a really big artist that’s also going to contribute something to Monocule. That’s all I can say.”
Coming out of the pandemic and the past couple of years, I feel like dance music came out, still in a good position. What’s your take on the state of the industry and where dance music is headed in the future?
“I have no idea where it is right now, I just know that people want to party. I feel like we’re all in a great place when it comes to all the artists who are so happy to get back on stage. I feel like everyone gets motivated to see the crowd reaction again. Especially Ultra today, it feels like a new start.”
Tell us what’s your favorite part about visiting Miami? What makes Miami stand out?
“Miami feels like a sunny and more Cuban/Spanish, better climate version of our best holiday resort that we have in the Netherlands. It’s like everyone has a chill vibe, good food, it’s sunset, there’s really amazing sunsets here, it just feels like holiday vibes, but on steroids. I wish I could stay two more days.”
Tell me about the new dog!?
“Ravi. Ravi’s really popular, almost 14,000 followers on Instagram, he’s getting more popular than I am.”
Other than working on music, and playing video games during the pandemic. Was there anything else you did that was interesting or a hobby you picked up?
“I love gaming, I love to play Airsoft.”
I’ve heard about that, they did a South Park episode about that.
“I heard about that, I didn’t see it, but I heard. Gaming, demo drop on the first Friday of the month on Twitch. What else do I do? I drive motorcycles. That’s about it for now, I play legos.”
Any other words for the fans?
“I’m just really thankful for everybody that works the Ultra show today. Hopefully people love the sound as much as I do. I wanted to give it a kickstart for the new season, give some love and some faith for the coming year, that everything’s going to be okay, on the largest scale possible. Yeah, I hope to see everyone in their country or their possible range, really, really soon. Stay in good health, stay in good shape, and I’ll see you soon.”
