Skrillex just finished a massive promo campaign for his first two albums in nine years, released within 36 hours of each other two weekends ago. Quest For Fire and Don’t Get Too Close represent both sides of Skrillex’s production, with the former featuring the harder selections and the latter presenting his pop/hip hop side.
And yet, the mad man is still teasing even more new music — I mean, we all knew those two albums weren’t all that he had been producing, right? One of the most anticipated IDs that fans were disappointed didn’t make the albums was “Baby Again,” yet another collaboration with Fred again.. and Four Tet, who all sold out Madison Square Garden almost two weeks ago for a 5-hour b2b2b set.
Yesterday, Skrillex cheekily tweeted, “let’s drop baby again sooon,” tagging both producers. Less than 20 minutes later, he shared a video of the track being dropped at MSG.
The question now is: is Skrillex keeping up the same pace of releases we saw with QFF/DGTC or is this “sooon” reminiscent of his old style where we might see the song in a couple months or never? I guess we’ll find out sooon.

Music rights are a fickle topic. And nearly a decade ago, it was even more of a wild west environment than it is today, with myriad shady contracts or unclear terms being levied, especially in dance music where the major labels hadn’t quite yet permeated the genre to the degree they have today.
So, cue Flume’s iconic remix of Lorde’s “Tennis Court” in 2014 — the song has only been available on SoundCloud and YouTube for nearly a decade, without an upload on the world’s largest streaming service, Spotify. That has now changed. As of this past weekend, the “Tennis Court” remix from Flume is now available to stream on Spotify to your heart’s content.
When this song came out nine years ago, it ushered in the future bass era. And though the genre has somewhat subsided in recent years, we still look back on it fondly.
Listen to the song again and add it to all your playlists now!

Get to know Jonnyfenn, the multi-talented artist from Torrington, Connecticut, who is currently making waves in Los Angeles. As an independent artist, producer, and sound engineer, Jonnyfenn has established himself as a rising star in the hip-hop scene with his unique sound that appeals to both fans and critics.
Initially, Jonnyfenn began his musical journey as a songwriter and rapper in Torrington but discovered
his true passion for singing. He started playing with a beat pad at 18, which marked the beginning of his
success in the music industry. With persistence, Jonnyfenn made his way into bigger studios and collaborated with more talented musicians, which only further propelled his career forward. Growing up, Jonnyfenn’;s mother’s love for 1980s Broadway musicals sparked his interest in music, along with his admiration for Kanye West's music and style. His experience of moving to 12-13 different schools before high school and being homeless at 18 after getting kicked out of his house has not deterred him from pursuing his passion. Despite working odd jobs, such as cashier, dishwasher, and overnight factory worker, Jonnyfenn’s passion for music never faded.
Despite being an independent artist, Jonnyfenn has worked with major industry names such as Def Jam,
Interscope, and RCA, as well as Bighead's label. Working in serious studios with renowned artists who
make a living in the industry is his greatest accomplishment as a musician.
For Jonnyfenn, music is not just about creating catchy tunes to please fans. He wants his music to inspire others never to give up on themselves, especially when they feel alone or close to giving up. Jonnyfenn’s music is a testament to the power of perseverance and determination, and he hopes his fans will resonate with that message.
Fans can anticipate two new albums from Jonnyfenn in the near future: “U.G.L.Y.” (You Gotta Love Yourself) and “WOW both recorded, mixed, mastered, and produced by Jonnyfenn himself, in collaboration with a team of talented musicians in LA. Keep up with his music on Spotify. For any updates, follow Jonnyfenn on Instagram.

Following his earlier 2023 single, “EMBERS,” which saw him juxtapose deep basslines and groovy percussion elements, San Francisco-based talent Angrybaby has returned to tastemaker label TH3RD BRAIN with yet another heater. Filled with exciting moments all throughout, from its infectious vocals to its minimalistic melodies, “HOLD YOU” is as nostalgic as it is mesmerizing, and makes for a stunning display of Angrybaby’s creative prowess.
“I wrote HOLD YOU while in San Diego for Christmas vacation. San Diego holds a very special place in my heart as it reminds me of someone who I loved dearly but ultimately had to let go. I wanted to write something to reflect that feeling but also have it feel uplifting and hopeful. The feeling I was trying to capture, that everyone has probably felt in their life, is the feeling of being with the right person but at the wrong point in time,” explains the artist.
Angrybaby, more commonly known as Samuel Agate, is a 24-year-old, classically trained musician who currently resides in San Francisco. Drawing influences from the likes of Disclosure, Louis The Child, Odd Mob, and Elderbrook, took piano lessons as an adolescent and started fully immersing himself in electronic music during his years in college. Now, he has gained prominence in the local DJ scene and hosts and curates a weekly event at White Rabbit called Saturday Social, while also crafting his own style of dance music as a producer.

Her debut mixtape Taste.test has just arrived,  the debut EP for this talented artist that rises beyond the typical toplines she’s been known for. It’s a thrilling experience from start to finish, as fknsyd weaves alluring melodies and mysterious auras throughout each song, paired with breathtaking vocals.
A few standout tracks for us are “First Thing In The Morning,” showcasing light dnb effects as her vocals offer a sedating effect. “I Wanna Be Your Girl” is a little more upbeat, lending towards the commercial side but no less effective with it’s appeal.

Unlike a lot of ID collaborations that spend weeks to months on the road before finally being dropped, Marshmello and Ray Volpe only started playing out “Old School” relatively recently. When we say that the collaboration has been “long-awaited,” we mean that fans have been asking for this pairing for much, much, much longer.
The two have always occupied a similar space in the bass music audio field, and the end result of their eventual collaboration is a great example of meshing their two sounds together.
“Old School” is fairly short, clocking in at just a little over two minutes, and the drop doesn’t hit until right about the half-way mark, so listeners are surely going to be replaying that ~70 second chunk ad nauseum for quite a while. That being said, the drop wonderfully scratches the itch of getting input from both artists and for that we are thankful.

Last December, Kx5 — Kaskade and deadmau5 — played an epic show at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum, the first electronic music show inside the venue since EDC was ousted from the city after 2010. (The Martinez Brothers played in the parking lot out front the previous month.)
It is currently the largest single-day concert event headlined by an electronic music artist ever in North America. Despite the incredible amount of people who were lucky enough to secure tickets to the event, there are still hundreds of thousands who weren’t. Today, the full set from the Coliseum goes live on Apple Music, available in Spatial Audio with Dolby Atmos.
“The West Coast has always been my stomping ground—my home—when it comes to playing out. It was foundational in building the sound that I play all over the world. No place in Los Angeles encapsulates where that hardwiring was created more than the LA Memorial Coliseum. The structure, the location, the sky above it—all iconic. When deadmau5 and I were given the opportunity to be the first electronic music artists to play there, as Kx5, in over a decade, we knew we had to come correct and make it special. We put all we had into it, and I think it shows. Being able to release this set is a love letter to our audiences everywhere, but it’s signed by the people who were there 12.10.22.” —Kaskade
“I share Ryan’s sentiment. The Coliseum was truly an epic show. Even the generator catching fire and putting a pause on everything made a moment. We are sparing you with that, though, and making up for it with this pristine recording. We have all the great tracks and edits from the night all tied up in a nice package.” —deadmau5

Coming in at a tight 2 minutes and 39 seconds, you’re probably going to find yourself hitting the play button over and over again so you can go back and find some new element to latch onto.
“I found Aliiias through his track ‘Mess With Me’ that I saw on a Spotify playlist,” said Alison Wonderland. “He’s a really exciting up and coming artist producer from Ontario, Canada with some amazing sound design. Excision and Sullivan King has become a pairing that fans will love no matter what, and they have a brand new collaboration — their fifth, so far — for fans to latch onto. “Fall Apart” is the latest single from Sullivan King’s forthcoming album on Monstercat, Thrones of Blood, due out next month.
“‘Fall Apart’ really quickly became one of my favorite tracks for the record, mainly because it has this really raw nu metal/2000s rock influence to it, which is something I definitely grew up on and loved.” Sullivan King explains, “It’s a really simple song that doesn’t have a ton of complicated layers, which is something I’ve really appreciated learning from Jeff. I habitually tend to overthink/overdo things on a song and end up having to pull back from the chaos I throw into a project or idea, but Jeff is fantastic when it comes to making sure things are directionally clear and sonically understandable. Incredibly stoked for our 4th collab together, it really feels like the perfect mesh of all our prior tracks!”
Excision adds, “Always have a blast working with Sullivan King! I really dig the vibe of this track with the slow melodic intro and heavy drops. ‘Fall Apart’ went off when we premiered it at our Lost Lands B2B, excited to release it!”

The discussion around AI has become increasingly prevalent over the past year, with the advent of many AI image generation services like Midjourney, OpenAI’s DALL-E, or ChatGPT. AI services, in a way, have been used for a long time but they’re now becoming more intelligent and, more importantly, more open to casual users.
Spotify, the leader in music streaming, is now joining the fray with a tool they’re calling simply: DJ.
This isn’t the first generative playlist Spotify has launched, but it’s the first in which they’ve done so publicly and labeled an official beta.
[DJ] will sort through the latest music and look back at some of your old favorites—maybe even resurfacing that song you haven’t listened to for years. It will then review what you might enjoy and deliver a stream of songs picked just for you. And what’s more, it constantly refreshes the lineup based on your feedback.
If you’re not feeling the vibe, just tap the DJ button and it will switch it up. The more you listen and tell the DJ what you like (and don’t like!), the better its recommendations get. Think of it as the very best of Spotify’s personalization—but as an AI DJ in your pocket.
The more you listen on Spotify, the more the service has access to your streaming habits and moods, down to the time of day or even geolocation data. Perhaps you prefer one kind of music at home on a Tuesday at 4pm compared to driving home from work on a Friday at 6pm, this new AI will tap into that data and should (hypothetically) service you the appropriate soundtrack for your mood.
Read more here.
Where to find the DJ
Ready to have the DJ soundtrack your day? It’s rolling out in English starting today for Spotify Premium users in the U.S. and Canada.
Head to your Music Feed on Home in the Spotify mobile app on your iOS or Android device. Tap Play on the DJ card. Let Spotify do the rest! The DJ will serve a lineup of music alongside short commentary on the songs and artists, picked just for you. Not feeling the vibe? Just hit the DJ button at the bottom right of the screen to be taken to a different genre, artist, or mood. This article was first published on Your EDM. BLUUR is taking the music scene by storm with big plans for 2023. The brand, which is focused on creating a space of carefree acceptance and good vibes, has been gaining recognition for its unique sound and powerful performances. BLUUR’s goal is to provide a platform for artists to showcase their talents through the “BLUURED OUT” event and offer an exceptional fan experience.
“When fans go to a BLUUR show, I want them to feel carefree and welcomed,” the innovative DJ explains. “I want people to see BLUUR and empathize with how I feel about my music, family, faith, friends, and euphoria. I used to be that person in the crowd, just needing a space to feel accepted and surrounded by good vibes when times were tough. I needed that reminder. That’s what BLUUR is about; that’s what BLUURING OUT truly means.”

BLUUR’s journey in the music industry started in the melodic bass scene in 2016 but losing a loved one led to a desire for a new beginning. At the height of the pandemic, BLUUR switched gears entirely by making more house music, which aligned with the brand’s vision of creating an escape from the hardships of life. BLUUR’s persistence and different sound helped the brand gain recognition, including winning the Insomniac Discovery Project and performing in notable venues such as the Hollywood Palladium and Academy LA.
The upcoming BLUURED OUT event will include a livestream showcase and a live experience in the spring. The brand’s upcoming EP will feature heavier bass house music with a new and different sound DJ BLUUR’s fans are yet to hear. BLUUR believes that the best way to help yourself is by being persistent and different, setting personal goals, and accomplishing them. The brand’s long-term goal is to create a stage of its own,

The BLUURED OUT Stage, where it can provide full production and showcase its unique sound.
“When I started, I constantly asked for help and support to have a clear pathway to a successful music career,” BLUUR explains when asked why that matters to him. “I realized nobody will come to save you. Continuing to be persistent and different is the only way to help yourself, especially when your mind is in a dark place. BLUUR was my escape from all the hardships, a chance to start over fresh, and have a new
beginning. Mainly, I just wanted to feel inspired to create something that aligned with my vision. I truly appreciate everything my team and I have built with this brand; it has been an experience like none other.” As an artist and creator, BLUUR believes in continuous improvement and growth. “Never be afraid to start over,” he encourages other artists. “Be bold and go for what
you love most, no matter how high the mountain might look. Someone once told me, ‘If you think the price is too high to accomplish something, imagine the bill of regret.’” Looking to the future, BLUUR sees himself playing festivals on big stages with full production. His ultimate dream is to start BLUURED OUT Records, where he can find like-minded artists and help foster and develop the next generation. He also hopes to further develop his career and collaborate with one of his favorites, Billie Eilish.

With over six million streams on Spotify and support from big names like Don Diablo, Tiesto, and Hardwell, Kriss Reeve has solidified his place as a rising star in the dance music industry.
But Kriss Reeve’s journey to the top wasn’t always easy. Despite working with some big names in the industry, he struggled to find confidence in his own music production, “I was insecure about my music," he admits. & I was confident with the songs I made for others but not for myself” But Kriss Reeve didn’t let that hold him back. Instead, he started studying the mental aspect of creating art and eventually found the courage to put himself and his music out there, changing his name to Kriss Reeve and releasing his own tracks. With each positive response, his confidence grew, and he now loves sharing his music with the world.

Kriss Reeve’s live shows are a testament to his versatility as a performer. He loves to keep the crowd on their feet with surprising drops and catchy vocals while singing along and interacting with fans. And when Kriss Reeve is not performing or in the studio, you can find him drinking iced tea or playing basketball.
Kriss Reeve is now ready to take on the world with a new release with Joxion on Storm Recordings. The track is a remix of Martin Mix’s song, “Spinning”;, and is a bass house spin on the original. The catchy vocals, melodic break, and hard-hitting bass house drop will get audiences pumped up.
Kriss Reeve’s biggest dream is to sell out Madison Square Garden with a solo show. After that, he wants to share his passion for music and tour the world, playing on the biggest stages, such as Tomorrowland, EDC, Coachella, and Ultra Music Festival. But for now, Kriss Reeve’s focus is on making music and having fun. He wants to stay true to that little kid who was so proud of his first beat and always encourages others not to overthink it and just have fun with their art.
Kriss Reeve’s collaboration with Joxion on Martin Mix’s, “Spinning”, is a prime example of Kriss’s impact on the world of bass house music. With his unique sound and innovative approach, he is quickly becoming one of the most sought-after artists in the genre.
His ability to infuse bass house elements with other music styles has made his music stand out in the crowded landscape of electronic dance music. Kriss’s passion for music and dedication to pushing the boundaries of the bass house makes him a true game-changer in the industry.

Over the last two years, he’s been busy working on a collection of new music, one being his new single “Drifting” ft. Blush’ko that we are thrilled to premiere!
The song stays true to the title, offering blissful vocals and transcendent melodies that make you feel as though you’re drifting along in a beautiful paradise. It’s impossilbe not to want to keep this one on repeat, as Topaz shows just how dynamic of a producer he is both with vocals and captivating synth sounds.

When Zedd bought his extravagant Beverly Hills mansion back in 2018, he had a grand time showing everyone his sparkling new property. Initially purchased for $16 million, the 9,400-square-foot house has plenty of open space, high ceilings, and all the amenities you could wish for. “He even has a room he calls his ‘Costco’ room for the specific purpose of stockpiling enough things that he never has to leave his house,” Your EDM wrote.
Toward the middle of 2021, after adding about 1,600 sq ft to the property, he put the house on the market for for $26.5 million, adding around $10 million to the market price from when he first purchased it.
Since then, it’s sat on the market until earlier this month, when it sold for $18.4 million to writer/producer/director Kenya Barris, known for “Black-ish,” “Girls Trip,” “Grown-ish” and the recently released Netflix film “You People.”
Zedd still has some pretty sick digs though, in another house he purchased from Joe Jonas in 2020 for $15 million.

For the last two and a half months, most of the electronic music community has been consumed by Skrillex and his unrelenting domination over the news cycle. He was dropping singles every week, announced an album, announced a show at Madison Square Garden, sold it out, dropped the album, played a show in Times Square, played the show at MSG, dropped another album mid-show. It was unavoidable.
But from the beginning of the year we’ve known that there is so much more. Beyond the albums we know and are looking forward to, the wheels keep turning — cue ODESZA, who this morning surprised fans with a release of “Hopeful,” a track they say didn’t make it onto their last album but “encapsulated our time away from the world while writing the record.”

The song feels similar to many of the synth-laden masterpieces of early M83, with echoing voices and slowly evolving melodies until the full weight of the emotion of the sounds crashes down. As the title suggests, it truly is a song that fills the listener with a feeling of deep hope and possibility.
