Seven years ago, Dillon Francis released This Mixtape is Fire. and nothing was ever the same. Featuring collaborations with Calvin Harris, Skrillex, Bro Safari, Kygo, and Chromeo, plus a remix from Party Favor, the 7-track project has had fans begging for a sequel ever since. Now, finally, it’s coming.
“Don’t Let Me Let Go” serves as the first taste of Dillon’s forthcoming This Mixtape Is Fire TOO, yet another long-anticipated collaboration between himself and ILLENIUM and EVAN GIIA.
“Did it take me more than two years to finish this song with Illenium and EVAN GIIA? You’re damn right it did,” says Francis. “Do I think you need to check it out so I can feel a sense of accomplishment in my life, that the two years of late nights and early mornings weren’t for nothing and that I’m worth a damn and that my mom and dad should be proud of me and that my brother needs to get off my back about buying him a new mountain bike because I supposedly broke it but it was already broken even though I don’t have proof? Yes. Please. Thank you.”

Starya makes it her mission to entrance her audience. The LA-based producer and vocalist, formerly known as Tuff Ghost, effectively combines her talents as a beat-maker, singer and mixer to create dreamy, vocal-driven dance music. After collaborating with heavy-hitters like Durante and remixing versatile artists like Mija under her former Tuff Ghost moniker, the creative polymath launched her current Starya project last month with her debut single “The Garden,” signed to Popgang Records.
Now, she’s returning to underground dance label with a fun and trippy new single, “Manipulator“. “Step left, step right, lean back, side to side,” she directs, anticipating a swaying audience induced by a section of high-pitched, electro-style synths. It fuses together hypnotic grooves reminiscent of Donna Summer’s “I Feel Love” with Starya’s own signature pallet, creating an unforgettable four minute experience.
“I love the idea of the audience being commanded by the artist on stage, sometimes you are being told to feel something subconsciously, sometimes it is more overt. This particular song has a few very simple commands that lead to a few specific movements that potentially could result in a large-scale coordinated dance.” – Starya

There’s no secret that Sparkee is one of the most talented musicians around. Not only can he produce exquisite tracks that led him to win numerous remix competitions, including Tiesto’s “The Business”, but he can also shred on the guitar. His ability to blend funk and soul influences with house music is uncanny, seemingly embodying a Nile Rodgers and Daft Punk spirit, all in one.
Now, he’s back with a brand new single, “Rock With Me“, featuring the beautiful vocals of Georgiana from LIINKS. It contains all of the Sparkee staples from funky guitars, upbeat melodies, and a groovy bassline to top it off. Sparkee always seems to blend the old with the new in an incredible, timeless way, and this single is no exception.

Three favourites of the Australian music scene, Tommy Trash, Go Freek and Lucy Lucy unite to bring you the euphoric dance weapon ‘Darkness Into Light’, out now via Club Sweat. Born out of the kind of ecstatic passion you only experience in the heavy fog and flickering strobes of a packed dance floor, this triple threat treats us to a fiery heater set to be a mainstay in pumping clubs and festivals alike. A powerful bass line groove and ascending synth stabs build intoxicating tension, before the husky and nuanced vocals of Lucy Lucy command the room, increasinging in intensity and leading to the ultimate release. The drop hits, bodies roll, and this electric trio remind you of what it’s like to fall in love on the dance floor.
Who better to tell the story of this epic collaboration than Lucy Lucy herself, “‘Darkness Into Light’ was the by-product of the first debaucherous night after lockdown restrictions eased. Friends reuniting over a sticky dancefloor, finally back on our bullshit after too many months apart. Early in the evening Tommy, Caleb and I had arranged to do a session the next day – a few hours passed and we were definitely still out past our curfew. Caleb and I decide it’s a good time to have a club pash because maybe we were both really excited? We almost out of awkwardness didn’t do the session but we did and we now have this delicious song baby to show for it. Sealed with a kiss. Literally.”
Go Freek confirms, “Writing ‘Darkness Into Light’ was about capturing the euphoria and ecstasy you would feel dancing the night away at a club pashing someone who you are falling in love with but only just met (which kinda went on the night before).”
One of Australia’s most in-demand dance music exports over the past decade, GRAMMY nominated artist Tommy Trash returned to the scene in 2020 after a 2 year hiatus. Since then it has been full steam ahead for one of Australia’s most exciting electronic acts, with releases such as ‘Lil Bit’ with Peking Duk, the inaugural release on hau5trap with ‘hiiigh’, and ‘Emergency’ with Yolanda Be Cool. More recently, he released ‘Satisfy’ the debut record on his very own label Milky Wave, and ‘Jaguwawa’ on Sweat It Out receiving praise from the likes of Billboard, EDM.com, Dancing Astronaut and more. While recent years have seen the resurgence of Tommy Trash he has long been recognised as one of the top DJs of the era, breaking out with 2013 release ‘Reload’, which earned silver certification in the UK, going 2 x Platinum in Sweden, while his remix of deadmau5 ‘The Veldt’ earned him a coveted GRAMMY nomination. Time and time again Tommy Trash has proven his production and DJ talents are not bound to any genre or era, as he has electrified across festivals such as Tomorrowland, EDC, Ultra Music Festival, and more recently on his own headline ‘Jaguwawa’ across North America.
Go Freek has become a leading force in the club scene locally and internationally, since breaking out with his ARIA Gold certified single ‘Define’, a collaboration with ARIA awarded dance producer Dom Dolla which has gone on to score over 50 million streams across platforms. Since then, Go Freek has gone on to release cross-over records such as, ‘Love Is The Weapon’, and ‘One Question’, while he recently released ‘Deep Cut’ on deadmau5’s own label Hau5trap as well as further releases on Solotoko, and Club Sweat with ‘Days Go By’, and ‘Be My Luv’. This year saw Go Freek collaborate with Mickey Kojak and Thandi Phoenix on emotive banger ‘Lose You’ via Sweat It Out. The Sydney artist’s extensive list of tech groovers have caught the attention of the likes triple j, SiriusXM, EDC Radio, Happy Mag, Acid Stag, and Purple Sneakers and endorsements from tastemakers such as Idris Elba, FISHER, Camelphat, Claptone, Anna Lunoe, Christian Martin, Porter Robinson and Diplo. No stranger to the dance scene, Go Freek has multiple AU/NZ tours under his belt as well as performances at EDC Las Vegas, Paradisco, Beyond Wonderland and Rabbits Eat Lettuce, to name a few.
This past year alone has seen Lucy Lucy collaborate on and off the stage with some of the most prominent artists in Australia & beyond. Including the likes of SLUMBERJACK, Example, Chilln It, and What So Not, she’s proving she’s got the chops to party with the best of them, garnering millions of streams and an adoring fan base. After working exclusively within her electronic duo Yuma X since their debut in 2015, frontwoman and vocalist Lucy Washington recently embarked on her solo project Lucy Lucy. Recent singles ‘$25’, ‘Sugarcoated’ and ‘Apple Tree’ have garnered great support from triple j and triple j Unearthed with Declan Byrne noting her affinity for “mixing slinky, bouncy pop with lush, warm sounds…” and that “it’s always a treat when it comes to Lucy Lucy.”
‘Darkness Into Light feat. Lucy Lucy’ by Tommy Trash & Go Freek is out now via Club Sweat.

NGHTMRE touched down in New York at the Brooklyn Mirage this past Fourth of July for an epic DRMVRSE show with Kill The Noise, ATLiens, YOOKiE, and FrostTop. As one might expect, the show was an absolute blast — but one moment from the headlining set seems to be grabbing all the attention.
With the recent release of Ray Volpe’s “Laserbeam,” the song has garnered even more live play than before, despite already being the most played song at EDC Las Vegas a couple months ago. Pair that with “Scream Saver” from the EP of the same by Subtronics in 2020, and you get this epic mashup below.
The mashup was made by Diesel, a combination of Netgate’s “Hard In Da Laserbeam” edit and NIMBVS’ “Scream Beamer” edit, which resulted in this insane outcome captured by @scvno.

First debuted just a couple weeks ago during GRiZ’s headline set at Electric Forest, “Feel No Pain” is a vibrant combination of GRiZ’s classic funk and dubstep influences. Riddled with groovy basslines and lush saxophone melodies, “Feel No Pain” is highlighted by the iconic “Trenchtown Rock” line “One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain.” Capturing the energetic essence of the dancefloor, “Feel No Pain” takes fans on an enchanting sonic journey.
Regarding the track, GRiZ said, “It’s a summertime dubby banger with some fun funky sax and a line from one of my favorite hip hop songs of all time, originally sampled by Bob Marley. Hopefully it inspires a feeling of easing the pain of all of the BS we’re going through as a country right now. Here’s a moment for you to dance and find some joy.”

Finnish vocalist and songwriter GEA’s musical path has been an interesting one. Her unique, angelic-toned soprano and Scandinavian folk composition surprisingly go with a wide range of modern, mostly EDM genres, and she’s tried nearly all of them since YEDM first got wind of her with her Butterflies LP in 2017. While she classifies herself as an “elven trip hop” artist, GEA also skirts the lines between classical music, pop, synthwave, and various forms of EDM. When we last covered GEA, her politically-inspired “Truth Between the Lies” single even flirted with industrial. Now with her latest single “Uusikuu,” GEA’s back firmly in trip hop territory.
“Truth Between the Lies” was part of a larger album called Call for a Snake, released in 2021 and for GEA, marked a much more aggressive EDM period in her work. Clearly affected by the turmoil of COVID and political issues of that time, when the music wasn’t necessarily heavy, the subject matter covered in this album certainly was. GEA used loads of different styles and genres to create Call for a Snake, all the while still mindful of her connection to nature and using her celestial vocals to lift up the message.
Now, after some excellent remixes from Call for a Snake, “Uusikuu” is GEA’s first new single of 2022 and she is back on that ethereal/trip hop mélange she does so well. Translating to “new moon,” “Uusikuu” sees GEA singing in her native language, in the high-pitched folk style of her ancestors, grounded by the bass-heavy beat while ambient sound work connects moon and earth. The synth work and sound design on this track also really shows GEA’s musical evolution and likely the skills she picked up working on Call for a Snake. Where she used to use more classical music to fill in gaps, here she plays with intricate syncopation and loads of electronic ambients. Sonically stunning and effortlessly balanced, “Uusikuu” might actually be the perfect example thus far of GEA’s style and the melding of musical worlds she works to achieve.
GEA’s also released an equally beautiful video for “Uusikuu” which drives home the afore-mentioned musical goal for GEA. Toggling between depictions of modern life in Finland with its beautiful nature as a backdrop and dancers finding joy within that modern world. As the video progresses, GEA herself seems to be a connection between the earthly and spiritual, transmuting from human to spirit communicator to possible the moon herself. It’s a glimpse into and a wonderful celebration of the Finnish lore and spirituality through music and dance.
There’s really no telling where GEA will go from here with her next releases. In her relatively short discography, the champion of Scandinavian art has run the gamut of styles and genres, and she’s likely not done yet. “Uusikuu” does, however, represent a turning point for the Finnish artist in both quality and style: the perfect marriage of electronic and folk, modern and ancient, earthly and celestial has been achieved.
“Uusikuu” is out now and can be streamed on Spotify. Check out GEA’s YouTube channel for more stunning videos.

k?d’s debut artist album is fast approaching on HARD Recs as he releases his third single from the project, “IF THIS IS A DREAM.”
Known for exploring a wide expanse of far-flung influences, the genre-fluid producer k?d has continued to find new ways to set dance music fans back on their heels. He’s already flexed his versatility on “RETURN TO NOTHINGNESS” and “FLOW IN YOU” alongside June One, the two offerings previously revealed from his forthcoming LP.
Diving deeper into his repertoire, “IF THIS IS A DREAM” finds him venturing into crossover territory with a swoon-worthy dance pop song that glides across tender piano keys, warm guitar licks, airy atmospherics, and dulcet vox repurposed as the track’s intoxicating synth lead. At the heart of the velvety beat is a glossy topline depicting a love so powerful that it feels impossible to separate the dream world from waking life.
Listen to the new single below and keep an eye on HARD Recs and k?d socials for new singles and a final release date on the highly anticipated album.

Known for his infectious covers and unmatched energy, 32Stitches is only getting started. The ambitious producer has hit it big with over 30 million collective streams under his belt, as well as releases on Universal, Insomniac, NoCopyrightSounds and more, while having just returned with yet another infectious cover, teaming up with blklght for “Reload.” There’s no surprise that the combination of two talented artist like these can produce wonders. US-born Indian American talent blklght has released remixes for the likes of Paul Oakenfold, Luis Fonsi, Aloe Blacc and Azealia Banks, while having made a name for himself due to his incredible live performances. 32Stitches and blklght’s “Reload” cover takes on Sebastian Ingrosso, Tommy Trash and John Martin’s homonymous single, which was released in 2012, flipping its progressive house vibes into an anthemic melodic trap arrangement. “Back when Sebastian Ingrosso and Tommy Trash dropped ‘Reload’ in 2012 it was an instant classic for us. An anthem you would expect to hear at almost any club or festival because everyone was dying to hear it. It’s always tough working on something as historic as this because you want to do the song justice. We knew it was going to be tough but we wanted to see if we could bring back the song with a new flavour and introduce it to an audience that may have never experienced it before, or bring back that nostalgia for those that had,” reveal the two artists.

His single “Sociopath” with singer Bryce Fox, has garnered over 180M streams across platforms to date. YEDM first covered world music/EDM fusionist Mohamed Assani when his epic Wayfinder album dropped in 2020 and the award-winning sitar player has made a number of singles since then, but his new video for “Lullaby for Guli” off of Wayfinder has given us cause to examine this lush and beautifully produced album yet again.
Wayfinder is one of those albums that reveals something new to the listener every time it’s played. With Assani’s rich and complex sitar alone, it feels like each track is a story that unfolds differently each time you open it and has infinite endings. Add in the accompanying instruments and electronic production and it seems like there are thousands of ways to appreciate this surprisingly short (it doesn’t feel short) work.
With its new remaster, just released this year, it seems there are even more ways now to listen to and interpret the spiritually-tinged journey that is Wayfinder, but with his new video for the album’s second track “Lullaby for Guli,” Assani has given us his original meaning: it’s a love song to his mother.
It seems with “Lullaby for Guli,” Assani wanted to return the favor and make a track that encompassed all those feelings from childhood with his mother. The video, produced by Pool Service Productions, is not just a beautiful and heart-rending interpretation of the music, featuring outstanding cinematography of Assani standing on a beach and remembering the love and lullabies with his mother. It also draws forth the cinematic quality of the production in this song and allows the listener to hear it in an even deeper, more emotional and definitely more personal way.
“Lullaby for Guli” is a lovely gift to mothers and an appreciation of women and its video a journey through the life and art of a man who clearly reveres them. It’s also an emotional gift to the world for Mohamed Assani to let us see the raw emotion of this track through the video; the power of music and the power of film working together to create something even more powerful. Assani’s mother passed in 2014 but the love he has for her is clearly as as alive as ever through this song and video.
To re-experience Wayfinder’s remaster (or to listen for the first time), it can be streamed on Spotify or Bandcamp. For more epic videos of Assani’s amazing sitar playing, visit his YouTube channel.

Following their last single, “Think Of You,” with Blunts & Blondes, Canadian duo Zeds Dead slow it down considerably with their latest release, “I Took A Ride.”
The song is actually a remake/cover of the Caroline Rose original of the same name, released in 2020 on her album Superstar. Zeds Dead add some of their signature house synths and a bouncy rhythm to give the track a more significant house feel, but Rose’s original vocals still carry the track.
