It’s been almost a decade of NGHTMRE as we’ve known the project. Through plenty of hits and big moments, nothing tops a debut album at the end of the day, and that moment has finally come — DRMVRSE is officially out today.
“I’ve wanted to write an album like this for my entire career! I’m really excited to have had the time to put this much thought and effort into all the details of the album and creating something with a “Hero’s Journey” storyline. DRMVRSE and the upcoming tour and live show are the next step up for all things NGHTMRE. I can’t explain how excited I am to share it with everyone” – NGHTMRE
Collaborations with the likes of Zeds Dead and Tori Levett, SLANDER and Dylan Matthew, Klaxx, Oliver Tree, IDK, and UPSAHL dot the project giving it a healthy dose of variety, and avoiding the curse of a pure dubstep album. With elements of future bass, trap, bass, and some hip hop throughout, the concept of a journey is clearly pronounced.
NGHTMRE recently announced his limited run ‘DRMVRSE Tour’ with state-of-the-art production at select venues. He tested the experience with two larger-than-life ‘Into The DRMVRSE’ events at the iconic Red Rocks Amphitheater in April and at Brooklyn Mirage in New York on July 4. He also has a tenured residency with Tao Group and performs at their multiple Las Vegas venues regularly. Tickets and information for the DRMVRSE Tour can be found HERE.

New York City’s Premiere electronic music festival Electric Zoo just wrapped up this past Labor Day weekend. The 3-day zoo themed festival went off without a hitch. Electric Zoo knocked it out of the park this year with the talent selection they chose to book. There were a plethora of insanely talented artists that performed at Electric Zoo and its respective after parties this year. Notably Of The Trees, Diesel, Subtronics, Gordo, and CloZee stole the show.
Of The Trees performance on the Brownies and Lemonade curated stage during the first day of Electric Zoo really set the event for the type of top notch talent Made Event was brining to the zoo. I had never witnessed an Of The Trees performance before but I can rest assured knowing that it wont certainly be the last. The Denver-based artist most certainly had his way with mixing and flowing off the energy of the crowd. His mixing was on point and even more so his song selection was on point. Everything about his set felt as if you had just entered into a mysterious rainforest with bouts of time in blissful oasis’ and bouts of time in cryptic caverns. Of The Trees performance focused heavily on molding the moments of heavy bass evenly into moments of serene ambient sounds.
Those who had never heard of Diesel were in for a surprise on Saturday. None other than Shaquille O’Neil performed on Saturday at Electric Zoo’s Bite This! curated stage. I would have never expected the crowd and Diesel to be as energetic as they were that night. Diesel had thrown down banger after banger including hip hop and rock songs mixed in with dubstep edits. The entire front rail from front to back was loaded with headbangers. During Diesel’s performance he had repeatedly shouted into the mic “where is my mosh pit?” and “ladies only” to give a sense of where his mood was during the night. The energy was electric and to watch the worlds biggest DJ (literally) perform was a sight to behold.
On Sunday I got to behold Subtronics perform just as the sun went down on Electric Zoo’s main-stage titled Antheon. It was an interesting sight to behold Subtronics unleash a barrage of dubstep edits and records upon the main-stage audience. In years past you would see the veteran electronic pop acts takeover the main-stage, it was nice to see Electric Zoo provide change of pace from that and lean heavier into newer talents such as Subtronics. By far Subtronics has some of the most insanely enticing visuals. He closed his set with a friendly PSA to all ravers to be friendly, smoke weed and stay hydrated.
Right before Subtronics performed at the main-stage was the newly performing house act Gordo previously known as Carnage. I had seen Carnage perform multiple times before and I have always enjoyed his energy. Its literally off the wall. The Gordo energy was refreshing from his previous project. The amount of latin house bangers and high energy techno records he had included in his set made for a good break from the multitude of bass acts I had seen on Sunday. As always Gordo brought his grandiose stage presence repeatedly jumping off the DJ decks.
I ended off the festival on the third and final day by watching the queen of bass CloZee shutdown her very own Odyzey curated stage. The stage featured the incredible talents Mersiv, Inzo, Wreckno, Tripp St, Rome In Silver, sumthin sumthin, NotLö, Redrum, Canvas and more. I had never seen CloZee perform before and I was not disappointed at all. The fluidity of the mixing, the song selection, and visuals were so in conjunction with each other artistic aspect that the entire set felt like one cohesive journey. CloZee’s visuals were one of the most beautiful LED displays I had ever witnessed. They are fast pacing, psychedelic and unique in their own right.
In addition to all of the amazing acts that performed over Labor Day weekend at the festival. Electric Zoo’s after parties hosted across various event spaces in New York including the Brooklyn Mirage, Kings Hall, Marquee, Webster Hall, and Lavo all featured intimate experiences from some of the most creative budding talents in electronic music. One highlight after party I attended was on the last day of the weekend. Watching sumthin sumthin play b2b with Rome In Silver at CloZee’s afterparty in Kings Hall whom both dressed up In white bathrobes with sunglasses stole the night for the most intriguing after party set.

ILLENIUM released his fourth, latest album, Fallen Embers, last year. Following the trend of a new album approximately every two years, we’re right on track for the next project to drop next year… and the producer has all but confirmed it’s on its way.

So far in 2022, ILLENIUM has released two singles (not counting his collaborations with Dillon Francis and Said The Sky), “Shivering” with Spiritbox and “All That Really Matters” with Teddy Swims. His next single is out next Friday, Sept 16, with Skylar Grey, “From The Ashes.” This will be the first collaboration between the two.

Back when Swedish House Mafia first revealed their forthcoming collaboration with IKEA last September, the response from fans was… lukewarm. The timing was definitely awry, as fans expected the announcement to signal the release of “Moth to a Flame” with The Weeknd — which we did eventually get — but instead were met with yet another merchandise collaboration.
A year has passed since then, and the sting has mostly dissipated as the collection officially launches next month, October 2022.
According to the press release, “OBEGRÄNSAD collection, which means ‘unlimited’ in Swedish, targets everyone who values the music experience at home and beyond: music fans, music producers, DJs, and all creators with limited means but unlimited creativity. Development of technology has enabled musical democracy, and the collection aims to support creative pursuits of the many people creating, performing, and enjoying music at home.”
The collection consists of more than 20 smart home furnishing solutions for producing and performing music in the home setup – as well as solutions for listening to music and creating a relaxed atmosphere. The collection includes a record player, LED floor, wall and work lamps, a clock; stands for laptops, tablets, speakers, and records; a desk, two options of shelving units, an armchair, four options of bags, including an accessory, a record and a laptop bag, rug and slippers in two sizes, a throw and a cushion cover.

Since releasing “TIDES” nearly a full year ago, the hype for Whyte Fang, Alison Wonderland’s indie project from 2011, has grown steadily. Now, as we approach the end of this year, her next single is here: “333.”
Apart from her main project, Alison Wonderland has been creating more industrial electronica for years but hasn’t felt the time was right to release any of it until now. She says “I have decided to release this music separately to Alison Wonderland because I want these beats to live in their own primal world.” That is Whyte Fang.
“333” is part minimal trap, part industrial techno, and all attitude.
This new single preludes the first Whyte Fang headline show on September 21 at the Roxy in LA, which sold out in one day. The first ever live show occurred as a secret headliner for a Brownies and Lemonade event at LA’s State Historic park in late 2022.

During the final day of the Electric Zoo festival in New York City I got the opportunity to sit down with one of the hottest rising dance music DJ’s globally. SIDEPIECE the duo comprised of Party Favor and Nitti Gritti played Electric Zoo’s Morphosis stage before the closer AC Slater shutdown the stage on the final day of the festival later that night. I spoke with the duo 1 hour before they were set to perform and without further a-due we jumped right into it.
You guys are going on your US tour Kiss and Tell Second Base at the end of September. Tell me about how the first tour went?
I think first and foremost the first tour for us when we started this project we always believed in it. We knew that it had something special but I think to play those big rooms every room was just over 2000 or more it was amazing to see that many fans wanted to come see us. Everything was sold out. It really solidified that we are doing something right. It was a really humbling awesome experience and we are really excited to do it again.
You ended off the first tour in the west coast and you guys are starting off the second base tour in Portland this time. Do you plan to end in the west coast again?
We’re going all over. We are in Detroit this time. We are going to Texas. Two to three dates in Texas. We are going to the south. We are in Florida. We are super pumped. We are also in Canada.
What’s the most off the wall thing you guys saw at your first show?
We just played in Chicago. Lollapalooza was incredible but we played an after party at the midway and it was like the most OG house feeling show. People were off the walls.
READ: SIDEPIECE’s Management Breaks Down What It Took To Bring Jim Peterik Out For Lollapalooza
Two and a half hours in and people just kept on going. It didn’t matter about lights or production. It was the most raw feeling. People were losing there shit. We haven’t had people be overly wild but in Vegas this one time. This girl flashed us and got kicked out. She jumped up on stage flashed us and got kicked out.
When you guys get to last base what happens after that?
Well our careers over after that. We are just going to add bases after that.
If you guys could never make electronic music what would you make?
For me it would be in the rock realm, pop punk I could do that all day.
Talk to me about the creative process behind Supersonic with Lee Foss, how did that record come about?
I always remember we started it after one of our first red rocks shows and we were in this cool house and before the set we just made it. Maybe 6 months later we had the demo, met him and we were like hey man check this out and he was like I really like this. He started adding all these cool synths and stuff that sounds like him. We never really met in the studio with him we just did it all online. Lee definitely gave it a life that it didn’t have before.
What’s in the works next year?
The tour is really exciting for us. We have 2 singles coming out before the end of the year. And we are really excited for these songs to come out. We probably have 20 songs right now in the pipeline.
Who are your top 3 artists to watch next year?
Joshwa, Odd Mob, and LP Giobbi.

Over Labor Day Weekend in New York City, I got the incredible opportunity to sit down and speak with Atlanta-based gut music pioneer, Canvas. Canvas opened up CloZee’s Odyzey stage takeover on the final day of Electric Zoo. We spoke about a variety of topics from discussing what imposter syndrome is, her relationship with CloZee and much more. Canvas just released her latest single “Feelin’ for You” on CloZee’s imprint record label Odyzey music.

Tell me more about gut music. Is that what you are primarily focusing on with the Canvas project?
I grew up playing classical music, I am a drummer, and I got into electronic music a little bit later. So I can see how all these pieces of sound connect but the idea of gut music is not defined by one type of genre. It’s not just dubstep, it’s not just tech house, it’s not just bass, it’s whatever. It’s that feeling that hits that spot. I would love to in the near future start a label. And bring up producers that make music that gives that feeling like oooof.
Talk to me about the Canvas project, what do you plan to accomplish with the project?
Aside from making music that’s emotive and things like that. I really want us to build a community of people that understand that they are not defined by one thing and the person right next to them could be their next best friend. And through the project it’s just cultivating that community and growing it through sound and feeling and that’s what we talk about in gut music. It’s that feeling of whenever you felt sad and music has hit that place. And that’s what we are going for. It’s all for that feeling and bringing people together that want to feel a journey and they are down for whatever type of sound.
How does feel to be in New York City over Labor Day weekend playing your EZoo debut? What was going through your head?
We came the day before just to get a feel of the energy and the energy is hot. Everybody is ready to go. So opening the stage is an honor. It gave me the opportunity to set the stage, set the day, and set the tone right. It was hot, but people were hanging in there, so I appreciate everyone’s resilience at this festival.
Beyond music how do you plan to create a transformative experience for your fans?
Music is so much now. There’s visual art, spatial awareness art, so the idea is to link all these people together in this community and find pockets where they connect and create environments. We could do, like it’s not just about the music, we can have someone feature some piece of art and it’s playing music that someone else made but it’s a Canvas event. So were cooking up some ideas but the idea is that it’s beyond music.
Talk to me about the creative process behind the song Feelin’ for You.
If anyone’s ever met someone that they have such a deep and intimate connection with, it’s about feeling for someone so intensely that your like I can’t deal with myself. So that’s what that release is about. I start to hear melodies in my head whenever I have such strong emotions. So I started feeling these things. A little bit of anger a lot of happiness and some confusion of falling in love with somebody. And that’s what that song is literally about, it’s like that first hit of being in love.
As far as next year talk to me about projects do you have any projects planned out?
I’m going to be touring. I have a couple more festivals till the end of the year. I’m going to CloZee’s event in the caverns. In addition there’s a lot of collaborations I want to do. There are some side projects outside of Canvas. It’s about bringing that cathartic experience for people so that they walk away feeling cleansed.
Tell me more about your relationship with Chloé, how has she impacted you as an artist?
Chloé has been a huge and major support system. I opened up for her at the eastern in Atlanta and from there it’s kind of just blossomed and transformed. One she is one of the hardest workers I know and two she wants to put on all kinds of artists from all different walks of life.
Tell me about what Canvas the name means to you?
Every time we show up to a set or every time we are at a new experience or a new event. That is the canvas. It’s not just me it’s everyone that’s there and the energy that is given back and forth.
What would you say to aspiring producers that look up to you, your sound, and your brand?
Stay curious. It doesn’t matter how big you get or how small you feel. Stay curious about your sound, stay curious about how you play that sound and also imposter syndrome is real. It doesn’t matter how big you get how many followers you have.
Talk to me more about what imposter syndrome is?
It’s the idea that you don’t belong there or that you are pretending to be this person with all these bigger artists and bigger names. Knowing that everyone feels that even some of the biggest artist I know here have talked about imposter syndrome. Feeling like oh I’m not good enough I don’t belong here. Let that little voice go.
Who would you name as your top 3 artists to watch next year?
There are quite a few Tape B, another artist out of Atlanta Pump Fake his name is Chris. His production is so crisp it’s so clear and he’s a teaching kind of person and a third is NotLö she’s already blowing up.
Is there anything else you want to say to your fans before we leave?
Thanks for the support and thanks for seeing me as I am. It allows me to be the most authentic version of myself and I hope when I perform It allows them to feel that as well.

Many people know Ultra Music Festival as simply an annual music event in Miami that hosts scores of DJs and producers and tens of thousands of attendees. What many people don’t know is that UMF also has a sustainability and community program that aids local objectives.
The program focused on five objectives – Waste Reduction, Pollution Prevention, Nature Preservation, Community Engagement and Climate Action – and has now received awards and verifications at the international, state and local levels. ‘Mission: Home’ received 1st place Volunteer Program, 2nd place Sustainability Program and 2nd place Education Program awards from The Florida Festivals and Events Association.
“Our ‘Mission: Home’ program has become part of the fabric of our organization,” says Ultra’s Founder and CEO, Russell Faibisch. “I was thrilled to see it return with us this year and could not be more proud to be recognized as an industry leader in this space.”

159 volunteers participated in various ‘Mission: Home’ activations in 2022, including supporting environmental organization-led educational experiences at Ultra’s Eco Village, and assisting Ultra’s waste management and recycling partner, Clean Vibes. This built on the volunteer program introduced by Clean Vibes at Ultra 2019, in which 90 volunteers participated. Over the past twenty-three years, Clean Vibes has diverted over 22 Million pounds of event waste from landfills. They also pride themselves on cleaning to the highest standards, including the removal of small micro-litters that pose a threat to the environment and wildlife. Together, Ultra and Clean Vibes have achieved 100% acceptance of recycling loads at local facilities since ‘Mission: Home’s inception in 2019.
Together, Best Beverage Catering and compliant food vendors have helped Ultra reduce an impressive 1.1 million plastics and 85% of single-use plastic types previously distributed, including cups, straws, plates, cutlery and many other food service wares. Additionally, volunteers surveyed the festival’s water refill stations, supplied by Event Water Solutions, which have eliminated over 400K plastic water bottles from entering the waste stream since 2019. Because of this, Ultra was invited to join Miami-Dade’s new county-wide ‘Plastic Free 305’ program and accompany County Mayor Daniella Levine-Cava and other founding members at its inauguration.
“It is a true honor to be recognized by these respected leaders. Our hope is to continue to impress them as we grow in our mission on this global stage and to watch as our community grows with us.” – Vivian Belzaguy Hunter, Director of Sustainability, Ultra Music Festival.

GRiZ has released nearly an album a year, with nine albums since his debut End of the World Party in 2011. With such a constant and consistent output, not to mention touring schedule, you’d think he would take some time to slow down every once in a while. But no, his next album is already on its way with the first single, “Your Light,” out today.
Chasing The Golden Hour returns for Part 4, the second in the series to come out as an album. (Pt 1 released in 2015 as a mixtape, while the second mixtape released in 2017, though only the selects are available on Spotify.)
Continuing to show his lighter, more melodic side with the series, “Your Light” harnesses GRiZ’s funk roots and minimalist sentiment. A stark contrast to this year’s previous dubstep-leaning releases, “Your Light” flutters with airy guitar melodies, hazy vocal accents, and bright, bubbly synths before diving into a heady saxophone solo.
Regarding the track, GRiZ said, “I wanted to recreate the carefree good vibes you feel when it’s just about sunset on the perfect summer evening and everything is the most beautiful shimmering tint of gold. Chasing The Golden Hour is that magical moment, it is the cool breeze against your back, it is sweet summer swagger in music form.”
It’s not specified whether the album will be out this year, but expect it early 2023 at the very latest. Check out “Your Light” below.

Unless you’ve been living under a rock this past weekend, you’ve seen or heard “Cbat” by Hudson Mohawke popping up again after 11 years. HudMo is having his own sort of Kate Bush moment as his song “Cbat,” which has been more or less forgotten in the general musical zeitgeist, is seeing a huge viral moment thanks to some unlucky Redditor who claimed to use the song in his love making playlists to … set the rhythm.
To understand why that’s so absurd, listen below.

The post on /r/tifu is currently the 7th most popular post of all time on the subreddit with 122k net upvotes and over 5,000 comments, and “Cbat” has been used in almost 100,000 videos on TikTok. And, as an update, the couple has officially broken up, due in large part to the virality of his post.
Well, the song has garnered so much popularity that it has actually entered at #1 on the Spotify Viral 50 playlist as of September 4. It’s currently sitting at 2.9 million plays on Spotify, though we would love to know what it was at as of August 31, the day before the Reddit post went live.

With Jamie Jones’ ‘My Paradise’ a clear front-runner as summer 2022’s Ibiza anthem, receiving support across the board from underground tastemakers to daytime radio, Brazilian superstar Vintage Culture now steps up to remix the track and continue its unstoppable ascent.
While Jamie Jones explored disco influences with his signature high-energy groove on the original, Vintage Culture’s clear-cut trademark sound gives a distinctly tougher feel, as a chugging bassline, rolling synths, and melodic piano breakdowns work together to form a journey of a mix guaranteed to captivate dancefloors from start to finish.
Vintage Culture, aka Lukas Ruiz, is an artist who lives and breathes the culture of dance music. The Brazilian artist has more than 1.5B streams online, gathers 8M across his social media platforms, and currently ranks at #30 in DJ Mag’s Top 100 DJs of 2020 poll.
Vintage Culture has graced the cover of Rolling Stone (Brazil), was nominated as one of the most influential “30 Under 30” industry leaders by Forbes, and premiere his very-first Essential Mix for Pete Tong on BBC Radio 1.He’s collaborated with global headliners Tiësto, David Guetta, Meduza, Robin Schulz, and Jorja Smith, going Platinum on multiple releases, as well as topping the Billboard Hot Dance and Spotify Dance Charts.

Fresh off his latest hit “Day N Night,” Afrojack is back with an amazing new progressive house tune, “Feels Like Home.” Teaming up with longtime collaborators DubVision, Afrojack fans are sure to recognize a track that has become a mainstay in his sets. “Feels Like Home” is also set to become the first ever Dutch Grand Prix anthem. Afrojack will join other prestigious DJs such as Tiësto and Armin Van Buuren who have performed at an F1 race. Fellow Dutchman Max Verstappen is one of the premier F1 racers in the world and has helped drive the popularity of the sport recently.
Recently debuted during Afrojack’s Ultra Miami set, “Feels Like Home” heavily features DubVision’s progressive influence. The track starts out with beautiful piano notes below the elegant topline. It’s one of those songs that reminds you that someone who’s very far away, can actually be very close by. Once the track gets to the glorious drop, it’s pure progressive house bliss. This is a track that allows festival season to live forever. Here’s what the artists had to say about “Feels Like Home.”
“I’m extremely honored to have been asked to collaborate with my good friends DubVision for the official anthem by the organization of the Dutch Grand Prix. The track is an ode to where it all started; for me, for Verstappen, for DubVision and so many others. I can’t wait to share it with the world on the 2nd of September.” – Afrojack
“I don’t think it’s fully sunk in yet that we will actually be taking part in the Formula 1 Dutch Grand Prix, one of the biggest moments in sports of the year. We’ll be working around the clock together with Nick to make sure we deliver the best version of the track possible. Let’s hope ‘The Orange Army’ approves!” – DubVision

Summer’s coming to an end. School is underway. It feels like the parties are slowing down as we enter autumn and becoming few and far between. But if you’re looking to keep the part going across the country or the world, then take solace that their are plenty of music festivals that thrive outside of summer. From September through December, there’s still a myriad of artists that you shouldn’t miss at any of these shows.
Here, in no particular order, are the must-see music festivals for the rest of 2022. If any of these show interest you, check out the links under each lineup to find out more information about each destination!
Portola Music Festival (September 23-25, San Francisco, CA)

At Pier 80, the Bay Area will get slapped with one of the most insane lineups I’ve seen in a hot minute. Aside from larger than life acts like Flume and the Chemical Brothers headlining the show, the show will have appearances from old-head favorites like Fatboy Slim and DJ Shadow to new-school acts like Fred again.. and Channel Tres. Portola Festival is the place to be if you want to catch electronic and alt-pop legends who have influenced and are still influencing the music industry.
Tickets: Here
III Points (October 21-22, Miami, FL)

Over the last decade, III Points has carved out its place as one of South Florida’s most exciting music and art festivals. This year’s lineup only solidifies this point. There’s a large mix of various genres in the mix here to. Want French electronica? Madeon. Want spiritual house music? Black Coffee. How about sadboi bedroom pop? Joji. Want hip-hop that will take you back to middle school? Busta Rhymes. Want the most salacious Flamenco? Rosalia. III points seems to have all their bases covered.
Tickets: Here
Lost Lands (September 23-25, Thornville, OH)

Excision’s Jurassic, bass-haven festival is what most bass-heads consider to be their number one go-to festival. If an artist makes dubstep, trap, drum n’ bass, drumstep, midtempo, or bass house, you best believe they are going to take the stage at Lost Lands 2022. Both the headliner and support sections are mind-melting in their sheer volume. And that’s what fans come for and expect.
Tickets: Here
Imagine Music Festival (September 15-18, Rome, GA)

Imagine Music Festival is what TomorrowWorld wishes it could have been: a major music festival in Georgia with the biggest names in the EDM game. It’s also a camping music festival with tons of space for parking and getting acquainted with the festival grounds. Lineup-wise, Illenium, Excision, GRiZ, and Kaskade boast the headliners while the rest show several surprise back-to-back sets like Ganja White Night, Subtronics, San Holo, and Ghastly & JOYRYDE as GHOST RYDR. Plus, this festival gets a bonus point for having Porter Robinson’s Air2Earth on the board.
Tickets: Here
Summoning of the Eclipse (October 21-22, Pelham, TN)

This festival is actually a newcomer to the scene and is spearheaded by SVDDEN DEATH. Not only will the show bring his VOYD set back and in full force, the festival will also feature EPROM, Sullivan King, and back-to-backs from Eptic and Space Laces as well as MUST DIE! and Aweminus. Never thought a first year, bass-head fest would have me dreaming about going to Tennessee…but here we are!
Tickets: Here
Second Sky (October 29, Oakland, CA)

Between the first Second Sky and the virtual Secret Sky, Porter Robinson has curated music festivals that tug on heartstrings and meet expectations that few festivals do. This year’s is no different with names like RL Grime and Hudson Mohawke to a back-to-back set from Porter’s Virtual Self moniker and G Jones, Second Sky 2022 sounds like an incredible trip. We’re just sad that the second day had to be cut.
Tickets: Here
Home Bass (November 10-13, Orlando, FL)

Slightly different than most of the festivals here, Home Bass asks the question, “What if you could have a music festival in a hotel?” From superstars like Flosstradamus and Oliver Heldens to rising talents like Rome In Silver and Buitano, the lineup and concept sound phenomenal. Imagine waking up, grabbing lunch, and walking right into the action with A-Trak or Jai Wolf. Sounds like a great way to spend a November weekend to me.
Tickets: Here
Space Camp (December 16-17, Hamton, VA)

Space Camp is another music festival organized and curated by one of EDM’s most recognizable names. GRiZ is back and bringing heavy-hitters like G Jones, NGHTMRE, and Of the Trees to name a few to Space Camp II. If it’s anything like last year’s festivities, then you know this show is like Christmas arriving early.
Tickets: Here
Decadence Colorado (December 30-31, Denver, CO)

Decadence is a right of passage with every year’s lineup just throwing incredible end-of-the-year acts. Last year had jaw-dropping sets from DJ Snake, Chris Lake, ZHU and so many, many more. This year’s lineup is still under wraps and not much is known who will be performing, but details are coming soon.
Tickets: Here
EDC Orlando (November 11-13, Orlando, FL)

Earlier this summer, Seven Lions surprised fans by wiping his socials and later revealing he will be releasing his first ever artist album Beyond The Veil this fall. The full-length LP is set for release on Seven Lions’ own Ophelia Records imprint on October 21.
“Call On Me” is dance music leader Seven Lions’ second single from his highly anticipated debut studio album. Filmic, room-filling chords envelop tender lyrics and vocals by Australian singer/songwriter Vancouver Sleep Clinic. Seven Lions merges a more indie and folk sensibility on “Call On Me” – a brief and well-executed departure from the gritty nature of first single “Every Time.”
The new single reveals another glimpse Beyond The Veil, as Seven Lions fans patiently wait for the full-length album to come this fall. Listen below!

Late last night, I was laying in bed doom scrolling on Twitter and came across this post. Intrigued, I read through it.
tl;dr a boyfriend has had a love making playlist with his girlfriend for 2 years to help with his “natural rhythm” and she just let him know that she hates one of the songs.

Now, I don’t know where this guy found this music or what rhythm he’s going for, but the song in question is “Cbat” by Hudson Mohawke, which came out in 2011. Listen below.

As you might imagine, the reaction from the EDM community has been visceral. Hudson Mohawke is an incredible producer (go listen to his latest album), but an example of rhythm for sex he is not (typically, “King Kong Beaver” might be someone’s speed).
Still, HudMo has leaned into the meme. His current artist pick on Spotify is “Cbat” with the caption, “stroke game…” His current bio on Twitter reads, “‘Cry Sugar’ is better for sex.” And then there’s the TikToks.

After last week’s EDM Twitter drama with Getter and Excision, this provides some much-needed levity.

The latest Sable Valley Summer compilation is officially out today, featuring 14 new tracks from some of bass music and trap’s hottest rising stars and known names.
Where in the past two volumes, RL Grime has led the compilation with fresh collaborations with Whethan and Montell2099, respectively, this time Vol. 3 starts with “Silo” with Hex Cougar and fknsyd. Frenetic arps and echoing vocals give this collaboration plenty of energy with an underlying sense of, almost, unease.
Other artists on the compilation include a long-awaited collab from Holly and Baauer, their first since “Just Enough” on Holly’s 2020 album, Dark Skies & Holy Grail. ODEA & Squired, VILLA & juuku, Jon Casey & Oddly Godly, and Altare & Davyn round out the collabs, with other solo contributions from Saka, X&G, Congrol Freak, Ivoryghost, LYNY, SSOS, TWONSKi, and REMNANT.exe.
Check out the full compilation below! Tickets to RL Grime Presents Halloween: Dead Space at the Kia Forum in Los Angeles this Halloween season are still available here.

Nicky Romero continues his hot streak, dropping another highly anticipated single, “Out of Control.” Teaming up with Italian-Swiss DJ/Producer EDX, “Out of Control” sees Nicky return to his more club-oriented, progressive sound he’s been pursuing lately. As far as I can tell, this is the first collab between the two producers, and the results can’t be argued with.
The track opens up with some light pads and the emotional vocal. The song is about one of those toxic romances that we all have a tough time getting away from.
“My head says I should be leaving.
But, my heart don’t want me to go.
You play me hot and cold like a fever.
And my love runs out of control.”
After two renditions of the chorus, we got the monstrous drop, with throbbing kick drums, a driving synth progression and a groove that is sure to ignite the dancefloor. “Out of Control” has become a mainstay in Nicky Romero’s sets from Ultra Miami through to Tomorrowland. Now, the track is available to everyone.
Check out the latest from Nicky Romero and EDX, “Out of Control,” out now on Spinnin’. Re-live Nicky’s most recent live performance at this year’s Tomorrowland too!

It’s always a wonderful occasion when two huge names in dance music join forces. That’s just what happened when R3HAB and Laidback Luke released their first ever track together “Weekend on a Tuesday” last month. Despite their deep roots in dance music and both being from the Netherlands, the two legendary producers had never collaborated together.
Enter “Weekend on a Tuesday;” a thoroughly modern dance track featuring moody, distorted vocals over a club-ready bassline and beat. The release also launches anotherblock – a transparent music royalty NFT marketplace, where every holder of “Weekend On A Tuesday” NFT will get a share of streaming revenues from the single.
We got the chance to have a chat with the R3HAB (Fadil El Ghoul) and Laidback Luke (Lucas Van Scheppingen) about their latest track, their recent NFT venture, getting back out on the road and music trends. Interview below.
Hey Fadil, hey Luke! Thanks so much for talking with us. First off, tell us about the song “Weekend on a Tuesday.” How did it come about? Was it something you guys got in the studio together? And, why has it taken so long for you guys to work together on a track?
R3HAB: “Luke and I have known each other for years and are constantly crossing paths at festivals around the globe. The connection has always been there, but the right moment and record didn’t come until ‘Weekend On A Tuesday’. We feel like it was worth the wait.”
Laidback Luke: “Thank you for having us! It was a demo I had laying around for a little bit. I had been in love with the vocal but honestly was kind of stuck with the project. We had been in touch with R3Hab and his team and it felt like the right track to propose to him. I’m not sure why it has taken so long for us to work together, we’ve known each other for a really long time! I’m very thankful it finally happened.”
What types of songs and musicians have been inspiring you guys lately? What musical trends have you each been noticing? I feel like there is a lot of nostalgia out there lately.
R: “Speaking of nostalgia, I really enjoy flipping older songs into a fresh version infused with the current sounds of the dance space. Those older songs keep on inspiring me, especially the songs I grew up with that I still listen to on a daily basis. I continue finding new melody, topline and production approaches by just listening.”
LL: “I think we see nostalgia everywhere nowadays. It might just be a safe space for people to grab back to and to experience the present modern times through a solidified lens like that. With me it’s all about a vibe at the moment. I’m trying to combine tech house beats with playful and crazy sounds which is typically a throwback-origin-Dutch-house type of sound.”
How does it feel to be back out touring and playing festivals? Does it feel like we’re back to normal out there yet?
R: “There’s nothing like the energy of an open air festival in the summer, and more importantly, seeing all the people smiling and enjoying the music. In the end, I make music for my fans, so it feels insanely good to play in front of them again.”
LL: “It feels so so nice being amongst people again and feeding off of that live energy! The touring is still not there where it used to be for me, but honestly, it’s just right for where I’m at at this moment in time, trying to balance life and touring out properly this time.”
Not to get too into the weeds on it, but “Weekend on a Tuesday” allows fans to earn streaming revenue on the track through an NFT marketplace. Can you give us just a brief explanation of how it works and what attracted you guys to NFTs as well?
R: “This is both of our first NFT project, and we are so excited that it sold out in its first hour. There are many different kinds of NFTs on the market right now, but I am most excited for the potential of royalty sales like this one. Essentially, fans get to invest in their favorite artists and are rewarded when a record succeeds. In a world where you can buy a lot of things that you can’t touch or hear, I’m excited to offer something that you get to own and hold onto forever.”
LL: “In anotherblock’s case, these NFTs carry a real world value, with streaming rights attached to it, that enable the holders to receive income when streamed- alongside the artists. So when the track generates income due to streams, the NFT holders also receive a part of this income. With this NFT we give the buyers a possibility to be an integral part our ‘Weekend On A Tuesday’ project. And that’s also what attracts me to NFTs, that sense of being a bigger part of something, rather than just simply consuming the product.”
It’s crazy to think that it’s almost September and festival season is winding down. What do each of you have planned for the rest of the year and what can fans look forward to?
R: “I have a few long awaited collaborations planned, which I’m really looking forward to. I’ve got more on the way that, like Luke, are pillars in the dance world.”
LL: “There’s a few things up in the air for the rest of the year. But, this year has all been about the last minute bookings for me, so let’s see what comes up. Definitely lining up for Amsterdam Dance Event again though!”
Each of you has been in this scene for a long time. What keeps you guys motivated as artists and how do you keep evolving to stay fresh?
R: “This is more than just a job, producing and DJing is what I get the most energy from. I feel like I would keep up with both, even if I hadn’t reached this level. In the end, this is an inner motivation, fueled by the love of dance fans around the world.”
LL: “My constant mindstate is: ‘The best is yet to come’, even now! It’s a tricky one because it doesn’t make you very present, but it sure keeps that fire burning.”
Any words or advice for the fans?
R: “Keep dancing, keep smiling, stay happy and healthy.”
LL: “Make sure to bring that ‘Weekend On A Tuesday’ mentality, out to the weekend!”

After releasing mostly on Never Say Die (until their unfortunate closure earlier this year) and Deadbeats, Effin is back on Disciple for the first time since 2019 tomorrow with “Playtime.”
The last time Effin released with the label was on Round Table with Jayceeoh for “Level Up” in 2019. Comparatively, “Playtime” is far more flighty and light-hearted, but you’d be mistaken if you let the generic-sounding build lead you into a false sense of security.
Effin says of the tune, “‘Playtime’ builds like a big room house record but drops into a wall of bass and crunchy madness. It smashes a lot of my favorite genres and ideas together, and ended up being a crazy tune that is just as fun to play out as it was to make.”
Sure enough, the build could easily come from something in Marshmello’s camp with its punchy snares and sweet vocal leads and synths, but the drop is 100% filth. Still, the sweet elements permeate throughout to give the whole project a bit more variety and personality.
Listen below, and enter Effin’s giveaway here for a chance to win a limited edition 500-piece puzzle of the track art! “Playtime” is officially out everywhere on Disciple tomorrow.

Since he started the eternally cool and somewhat clandestine label Sub-liminal Recordings back in 2015, the artist known as Agro likely hasn’t had a lot of time for his own releases. Sub-liminal has been a champion of all things underground, finding artists and curating releases that the larger and more popular side of the D&B scene might miss. The Brighton-based label with Agro at the helm has given come-ups to the likes of Damage Report, Warhead, Flowdan and DJ Hybrid in its seven years of operation, and Agro contiunes to find bass gems in unlikely places.
In the imprint’s first couple of years, Agro did apear on many of Sub-liminal’s collab EPs as well as firing off a number of one-off or two-off single drops, but in the last couple of years, it seems he’d been focusing more on taking care of his artists. That is, until the last few months. With a string of collabs, a remaster and “Part 2” of his seminal 2017 track “Noise Complaint” and an EP teaser in the form of a Taxman remix of another Agro classic “Bad from Morning,” it seemed he was gearing up for something big.
Enter Agro’s upcoming EP, the aptly named Digital Armshouse, due out this Friday, September 2. Only Agro’s second EP on his own imprint since 2015, he’s released a number of EPs on other labels like Pick the Lock and Gradient, but this collection is rightfully at home with Sub-liminal. An epic six tracker, Digital Armshouse truly is an arsenal of bass weaponry Agro has likely been collecting and creating over time, waiting to unleash it on the world.
Contaning the afore-mentioned Taxman remix, a jumpy, jungle-laced compliment to the original “Bad from Morning” highlighting Flowdan’s tight-as-fuck flow skills, Digital Armshouse opens with an equally ameny title track which also has hints of darkstep. Agro’s style has always been about cheeky nods to the old school, combining elements like heavily syncopated snares and darker-than-dark bass in ways that make them sound modern and danceable for today’s crowd. That style is on full flex in Digital Armshouse, with each track tighter, steppier and amenier than the last.
Our YEDM premiere today may actually be the steppiest track on the EP, “I Blacked Out.” Dare we say bordering on modern jump up in its beat structure, “I Blacked Out” is surprisingly quite minimal in its composition once you break it apart. The things that make it feel more robust are the heavy sound design, snappy snares and another surprising element, a lovely drone which makes its appearance in the middle of each phrase. Who from any era of D&B doesn’t love a good drone? The amens are also minimal on this track, so that gives the bass elements space to really take over the track, marrying with the sample to create something a bit otherworldly and, with that drone in place, a musical equivalent to actually blacking out. Its soothing and dancefloor-friendly at the same time, and we’re here for it.

Agro · Agro – I Blacked Out (Your EDM Premiere) 02/09/22 Hopefully Digital Armshouse is the beginning of Agro releasing loads more once again on Sub-liminal Recordings, as his style is clearly suited to the label and in fact probably drives it more than he realizes. Either way, fans can always expect the impeccable A&R of Sub-liminal and the jaunty style of Agros for a long time to come, and they will most likely cross paths again. In the meantime, we have this Digital Armshouse stocked full of bass.

Greatness can materialize at any age, and especially with prodigies, it materializes early. Miles Bonham, aka milesmusickid, has been garnering attention on social media since he was four and has amassed 550K followers on Instagram, but his latest video on TikTok, where he has 186.4K followers on an account managed by his parents, is going absolutely viral.
The six-year-old plays guitar, keys, drums, and bass, sings, and uses Logic Pro as his DAW of choice. He also has perfect pitch, allowing him to compose and recreate music seemingly without a sweat. His latest video shows him recreating “Girl” by The Internet and Kaytranada with 5.7M views and nearly 1M favorites at time of publishing.
Over the course of about two minutes, he’s filmed working on the project, playing keys, working in the DAW adding effects and automation, and even sampling his own voice to, and I quote, “get that Kaytranada sound.”

It’s not actually been a long time since Tengu’s Virtual Reality EP, which released on Korsakov Music in early June this year. Perhaps it’s the fact that he’s released quite a bit since then that makes it feel it’s past time for another partnership with the Dutch dancefloor label. Dancefloor speaks to dancefloor, after all.
Since that powerhouse EP, Tengu has released two tracks on Toronto Is Broken’s YANA Music imprint, a track on UKF’s most recent compilation EP and a collab with fellow Korsakover AL/SO on High Tea’s impressively diverse Jasmine series. All that work and we nonetheless feel it’s high time for another Tengu/Korsakov Music dancefest. Luckily, we’re about to get it.
The dual single “Toxic”/”Out the Way” drops this Friday, September 2 and shows Tengu’s own diversity in a way many fans will not expect. The ostensible b-side “Out The Way” features Whiskey Pete and is a tougher, heavier version of Tengu’s usually jumpy style. There’s a lot of sound design that makes this heavier sound possible: he uses an extremely interesting and possibly heretofore unheard echo effect to make the whole track sound like you’re listening to it inside the Thunderdome. With the starburst synths, the phrase-connecting sub synth and Whiskey Pete’s aggressive/bordering on meniacal vox, when the big surprise hits after the break, fans will be well and truly gobsmacked with this track.
Our YEDM premiere “Toxic” is more straighforward D&B but there’s a depth to this track that’s surprising as well. That backstage-at-a-bloodsport-arena vibe is back with more echo and cinematic sound design and a number of elements such as the ravey synths, the mixdown and the secondary and tertiary synth chords give a vintage techstep vibe without being too throwback about it. There’s defintely a releating theme to these two tracks with the overall design, and it would be incredibly cool to see them mixed together, perhaps with a cheeky Britney Spears sample mixed in as a nod to OG “Toxic.” Just a thought, DJs.

Korsakov Music · Tengu – Toxic – YEDM Premiere Even though Tengu and Korsakov Music seem like a predictable pairing because of their sharedlove of dancefloor, “Toxic” and “Out the Way” bring sounds and styles that will be surprising for fans of both the artist and the label. Fitting in perfectly with the moody march into fall gigs, there are endless mix and double drop possibilites for these tracks that will make the dancefloor shake like Mad Max is on his way.
“Toxic”/”Out the Way” drops on Friday, September 2 on Korsakov music. Pre-order avaialble on Beatport.

At first listen, Carlo Ratto’s latest drop may seem like just another cookie-cutter techno pop song. But upon closer inspection, there’s more to this track than meets the ear. The soaring piano chords and catchy vocals are reminiscent of early 2000s pop songs, while the powerful violin drops give the track a modern twist. In addition, the lyrics are both clever and relatable, making the song an instant earworm. Whether you’re looking for a feel-good summer anthem or a catchy tune to sing in the shower, Carlo Ratto’s latest drop is sure to please.

DJ Carlo Ratto is known for his high-energy releases, and his latest track is no exception, “Talking to You” is a call to arms, a declaration that demands attention.
Bouncing off the walls with a tightly wound reverb, colossal rolling kick drums bring a dense dominance to the release. The lead synth careens around the mix like a neon comet, leaving a sparkling trail of melody in its wake. This is audacious dance music that isn’t afraid to show its teeth. It’s the sound of an artist who knows exactly what he wants and isn't afraid to go for it. And we are all better for
it. The result is a track that is sure to get any party started. So, if you’re looking for a new anthem to add to your playlist, be sure to check out DJ Carlo Ratto’s latest release.
Ratto is the artist you want on the decks when you’re looking to get the party started. He’s got a well-earned reputation for getting crowds moving with his high-energy sets, and he knows how to read a room to keep the party going all night long. But it’s not just his dancing feet that make Ratto a top DJ – it’s also his carefully curated tracks. He has a knack for finding the perfect song to fit the mood, whether it’s a hands-in-the-air anthem or a slow jam to get people close on the dance floor.
