The king of trance is back. Armin Van Buuren released a new track this weekend, and it’s one of the best we’ve heard from him lately. Titled ‘By Now’, Armin’s latest track is a collaboration featuring British DJ and producer D.O.D.. The vocals are performed by the English singer Laura Welsh. ‘By Now’ was released through Armada Music Records.
The true talent of a producer can be shown in many different ways. One of them is adapting your sound to the new waves of evolution the industry travels through. This has become an almost automatic task for a DJ like Armin Van Buuren. The Dutch legend has managed to mesh his signature sound with many of today’s trending sounds. He’s done it in a way that guarantees that you’ll still be able to recognize his sound. At the same time, he brings an entirely new arsenal of leads, basses, and effects that perfectly fuse with their work.
‘By Now’
On his new track, Armin Van Buuren teams up with D.O.D to produce a strong, warm, and melancholic track. Something that takes you back to the early 2000s, when trance music used to dominate everything. The rolling bass, more recent sounding, pairs up perfectly with the rest of the elements on the track. Not what you’d expect from AVB. The result, however, is once again a great one.
Last but not least, the brilliant set of vocals provided by Lauren Welsh. The singer/songwriter does an amazing job, delivering a stunning set of vocals. Taking the role of a person dedicating a song to their lover, the euphoria and melancholy of the singer’s voice is the perfect element to tie everything around. The result? Certainly, one of the best songs Armin Van Buuren has released in the last few years. Not to discredit any of his previous work. This song just happens to be too damn good. The king of trance has done it again!

Let’s chat…
How are you?
I’m feeling pretty good. I’ve just put a lot of work into this three-track EP that’s recently been released. I also pulled a show together and played the songs live with the band at The Hackney Social-  it was a really good turnout, one of the best turnouts for one of my solo shows ever. It’s a lot of work putting everything on yourself,  writing the lyrics, producing the music, and collating all the assets and the artwork. I do as much hands-on as possible, I’ve very much got that DIY independent mindset. It can be quite testing at times but it’s rewarding to see things come to fruition from start to finish.
What have you been up to recently? Clearly, you’ve been busy… 
I never know how to answer this question. This is a question I used to be quite insecure about when people would ask me. A lot of the time when I was in D&B settings, I’d say “ I’m an MC, but I’m a tastemaker on a Reprezent show that I’ve been doing for eight years now.  I’ve moved away from the D&B tastemaking and I’m focusing on this smaller project. 
So when people ask me “What do you do?” I don’t really know how to answer, because I think yes, I started out as a D&B MC but I’m also a producer which a lot of people don’t seem to know about. Presenting and DJing is something that I love doing too. It’s quite a weird one.
Over the years I’ve seen how vital it is to have loads of strings to your bows. I like to think of myself as being an all-round, I’m an artist, but I’m able to put the music business hat on, I’m also able to put the project manager hat on and work in different settings within the music industry which has given me a 360 view about how things work. That’s not to say that I understand everything, I haven’t cracked it yet. 
Have you been producing throughout your whole career?
It’s funny because I’ve actually been producing longer than I’ve been an MC. People don’t often know, they see me as an MC or a radio presenter. But with my new stuff, people a lot of people are saying ‘He spits bars too.” It’s kind of flipped.
I’ve been producing since I was about 14. I went to a regular state school, but they had specialist funding from the borough for performing arts and the arts. They had a sweet full of Mac computers and I remember we started learning Logic, I’m one of those people who didn’t really have a certain crew that I hung with or a certain thing I was into at school.  But when I found out about logic and production. I was hooked, I remember being in that sweet most lunch times- any chance I would just be trying to learn about music software. About one or two years after that I started MCing. My brother was an MC and he, Joe Goss (Soulvent Records), Jack Higgins (Pola) and a guy called Sean set up a record label.  I saw them doing the whole dance music and record label thing and they were great role models for me and I feel like I was given a window into the dance music world.
I was born and raised in East London not from the roughest part, but it’s not the greatest part either and there were so many other things going on around me where if I didn’t have these role models or music to throw myself into I think things would have ended up a very differently for me.
How important do you think creative education is for young people? 
Creativity in education is one of the things I am most passionate about, if I had more time I would be more directly involved with it. Unfortunately, I have to pay my bills. I went to a state school that specialised in performing arts, and I’ve seen people around me who are from less well-off backgrounds than me who have completely turned their lives around due to creativity and education. Having access to these services is essential.  There is a lack of funding and it’s been cut back so much the past few years under the current government. I’d like to think of myself as punk and anti-establishment, but I’m not gonna shit over the government the whole of this interview because I think that can be quite draining but the cuts to public services have been drastic. 
These things really help people a key example of this is that I work with a charity called Yuaf, a couple of months ago I was working with this kid and we did some one-to-one production. He may not have had access to a session with someone who’s a producer- it’s only because of foundations and charities like this that he gets access to it. 
I found that the experience of working with someone who was really keen and eager to learn and progress and ask all the right questions was inspiring for me. So I think it’s important. Education as a whole is important. My dad came to this country when he was three years old from Pakistan. He didn’t go to university. My mum grew up in the East End, in pure poverty really and she just didn’t have access to education and creativity. It’s really important and something I’m quite passionate about. 
On the tip of Education, I want to mention Chords because he is my best mate but he’s also been a mentor to me and he’s also provided me with opportunities that I wouldn’t normally have had access to. He’s an amazing producer and DJ too. I was also part of the first cohort to attend ELAM (East London Arts & Music) a college that was set up by Will Kennard of Chase & Status. If it wasn’t for ELAM, I wouldn’t know the things I know today, so I have to shout them out. When I was at ELAM, I also met my current manager Patrick (MC Rage / Rebel Clash).
It’s good to hear people are still passionate about creativity and education.
Let’s talk about your latest release…
‘Daisies’ is a really cool project. It’s a 3-tracker I started working on towards the end of last year. As I’ve been producing for such a long time I’ve finally found my way of working now I write the song on guitar, put it into logic, do a majority of the production and then I will work with my good friend and long-term collaborator chords on my additional production.  and then we’ll mix it together. And so that I think the tune I started writing at the end of last year. 
‘Belong’ was the first single from the EP and it’s about identity. I remember writing the tune and it was how I felt at that moment, it is quite an honest song. A lot of the tunes that I’m writing now are very honest. What I’m doing musically is very different to a lot of D&B that’s coming out at the minute.  I had to almost take a little step back from D&B for the past couple of years because I don’t think it sat with who I am as an artist. That’s not to say that I hate or dislike D&B. I love it. Jungle and D&B were my entry point to music, but I wanted to try something very different. I think I’ve done that with this record. 
There are three tracks- ‘Daisies’ which is the lead track, ‘Belong’ and then ‘Help Yourself’. A lot of people have said that ‘Help Yourself’ is their favourite track, it is very much a self-help song, it’s about mental health and making sure that you look after yourself. 
I’ve got a remix from Crate Classics on the way. I’ve got a remix from Lakeway on the way. And I have also got another remix from Chords, but this is as his new alias- Shoal. I’m speaking to Iyre as well about getting a remix done. My productions are very D&B  and jungle influenced, but they’re almost indie pop-driven on the vocal and a lot of the instrumentation. So I like to add some remixes to the releases
How do you blend indie with D&B? Not to styles you’d usually find together…
Growing up as a person of mixed Heritage, my dad’s Bengali and Pakistani my mum’s English and Irish, then also growing up in London, this melting pot of sounds and different music. I became this sponge where I’m just constantly absorbing things around me and that’s not necessarily just music. That might be people’s styles or just locations. I’ve always been passionate about British music not just jungle and D&B that goes back to the 80s new romantic wave like Depeche Mode and The Human League and then also 90’s Brit pot and then in to that wave of indie in the 2000s. People like Jamie T, The Kooks. I’ve always been really into other music I just never really saw how to put the two together. This comes back to our conversation about being honest and being authentic. The more that you go into a scene the more you’re like, “OK, how do I crack this scene” and you end up listening to all this music but it all gets diluted into the same kind of similar sound. So you can either go into this scene and do what everyone else is doing or you can just carve your own thing.
You just let yourself be yourself and do what you were doing. And it just happened naturally…
I dabbled in the electronic stuff a little bit and I was like “This is cool!” But really and truly I wasn’t fully satisfied. I knew I was enjoying it. But I wanted to try something out of the box, which is where the whole concept of ‘Daisies’ and all this new music has come from. A lot of it is not “club bangers” that can be played in the rave,  I’ve written it to be performed with a five-piece band. I’ve got to shout out my band as well. We’re all from very different walks of life, but we all gel together and there hasn’t, as of yet (touchwood), been any kind of these band politics that you hear of.
We’ve spoken about your production process, what’s your lyrical writing process?
I don’t actually have an answer to that, it just comes out. Not thinking about it too much, writing how I feel at that time and then channelling into that feeling. I’m reading a book by Rick Rubin at the minute, called The Creative Act. Rick Rubin is obviously an amazing producer and one of the founders of Def Jam and in this book, he talks about that-  being in that moment and getting into the zone and a flow of things. And then I suppose getting stuff to rhyme I guess, haha. 
Do you write to music or do you write poetry and then get to fit to music?
If I’m writing bars, I’ll tend to put on a mix but most of the time now, if I’m writing lyrics I’m also writing music and producing at the same time.
You’ve been a radio presenter for a long time, what’s your favourite part of the job?
There are a few, I think the main favourite part is getting to speak to people and understand their experiences, what they’ve done and how they’ve contributed to the scene, what their journey has been. I like learning about different people and I’ve had the privilege of talking to some of the greats like Bailey,  Breakage and it’s been super inspiring because I’m 27. I don’t know everything about the D&B and Jungle scene and speaking to these people has opened my eyes. 
I don’t want to go on a rant, but I do want to say that I think a lot of people do really need to know where this music has come from. It comes back to the point of education, there should be more education pieces and understanding that drum and bass and jungle came from sound system culture and used to be jungle techno. Understanding this more, and staying true to where the genre has come from is pivotal because over time people just forget about these things, and you can’t forget about things because it’s part of the culture.
The second favorite part is probably the flip side of that which is getting to promote and push up-and-coming people. Giving a voice to people that are just getting started or halfway through their journey. It’s really important and I do have to give another massive shout-out to Reprezent.
 I don’t know the ins and outs of it, but they’re going through a crowd-funding process at the moment. They are one of these places we spoke about earlier that have had their funding cut. They are a community FM station. They are essentially funded by local government, and they’ve been put in a position where they’ve had to do a crowdfunder and it’s not the only organisation I’ve seen that has had to do this. It’s quite terrifying to see that an organisation like Reprezent, which isn’t just a radio station- they train people from 16 to 25 to get into radio to give them the skills to get into entertainment or music or the creative sector. 
As a radio presenter, I wanted to talk about the importance of human tastemakers over an industry that has become dominated by algorithms. 
To start off… Tastemaking is super important. Gatekeeping is a dick head thing.
I have definitely found that when I am listening to a radio show or a podcast, I feel something completely different compared to listening to an algorithm-generated playlist or even one of Spotify’s curated playlists, to be honest. Because at the end of the day, they may be curated by a human but it’s only certain people that get up there. And that is the type of gatekeeping that we’re talking about. 
Back to the topic of tastemaking, I think it’s incredibly important. It’s something that we need to preserve. I think it’s also something that makes music quite a liberal space to be in.  
Put it this way. You’re gonna get incredible chefs that will get all the finest ingredients and make an incredible dish and it’s gonna taste amazing and you have all these incredible flavours, it’s a meal that you’re really gonna enjoy and it’s gonna satisfy you. Or you can get some chef that’s grabbed some crappy ingredients. The meal is frozen it looks the same as every other meal it’s gonna be all right but it’s not really nourishing.
I’m a deeply sensitive person. So having music that is created by someone, who has spent time going through music and listening to music and coming up with their own dish is a lot more nourishing than something that’s generated by an algorithm, or someone who’s getting paid loads of money to push and labels. I think also as an independent artist. You must have these people in place.
What have you got coming up?
I’m launching this new project, which is called Gonebrook.  It’s a project that I wanted to be purely about electronic music production. It’s not just D&B there’s garage, house and techno, a bit of everything, but no vocals. I’ve also got tons of music written and produced under Paleblu that will be dropping slowly but surely over the next few years. 
What should we be talking about in the bass music scene that we’re not talking about currently?
This is something that has been spoken about and has been the past few years, but definitely diversity and inclusivity. It’s still a big problem in dance music. I’ve seen a lot of people not be given the same opportunities that they should have been given based on the fact that they’re not a straight white man.I think things are improving and you have great organisations like, EQ50 is a great example of that, but it’s something that still needs to be really pushed and I think honestly some people just don’t know where the music comes from and that’s the place to start. D&B and garage and all these genres came from working-class communities and people of colour, it’s about that education piece. I’d say the things that people need to talk about more are where the music comes from and how we can get people from all backgrounds into the scene and how we can really nurture these people as well.

From the opening bars of Hyperdrama, Justice's first new album in eight years, the duo reminds us why we fell in love with their timeless electro in the first place.
Those starved for Justice's visceral French house music need starve no longer, as the record overflows with an embarrassment of synth-washed riches. But while it's still anchored in the gritty analog tones that made them icons, the album finds Xavier de Rosnay and Gaspard Augé exploring uncharted territory with a renewed sense of adventure and emotional depth.
With Hyperdrama, Justice transcend the simple pleasures of body music to speak to the tragedies, triumphs and bittersweet complexities that loom over the dancefloor's euphoric release. Eschewing the aloof electronic stoicism that defined their earlier works, Justice bleed pathos and restless yearning without abandoning their roots.
Listeners needn't look any further than its opener, "Neverender," a sublime collaboration with Tame Impala where cathartic synth-rock meets aching lyricism drenched in regret over unresolved heartaches. And on "Mannequin Love," Justice tap into their time-tested analog synth craftsmanship to produce a walk-on-air anthem with fizzy arpeggios flittering through effervescent vocals from The Flints.

Elsewhere on Hyperdrama is the psychedelic "Explorer," a dark horse for the album's best track. Here Justice weave a lysergic latticework of eerie, cinematic textures alongside a madcap Connan Mockasin, whose guttural vocals envelop us like a hypnagogic nightmare. A masterclass in tension-building, his haunting soliloquy about a barren desert with a sinister figure in the distance sends shivers to your toes.
Despite those departures, it's clear the legendary Justice haven't lost their retrofuturistic French house touch. They turn back the clock by virtue of "Generator" and "Incognito," a pair of raw, vintage bangers oozing with the white-knuckle intensity of their seminal debut album, †.
The album's evocative nature is no accident, according to Justice's Xavier de Rosnay.
"Classical pieces of music, like Beethoven's 'Fifth Symphony,' are the biggest hits ever and they have no drums, no beats, no lyrics. But they've been the biggest hits for centuries because they have a very powerful, evocative strength," de Rosnay told GRAMMY.com. "For us, music is first and foremost meant to reveal this. So we never make music with the idea that it has to be for dancing or pop or anything, we always make music to try to convey powerful emotions."

German drum-n-bass artist Phace, birth name Florian Harres, released a three-track sampler of his upcoming album, Everyday, on April 19th. The album will come out on May 24th on Zeds Dead‘s label, Deadbeats, and it will be the first album for Phace since six years ago. The album will feature dance floor anthems that contain fantastic bass-lines and innovative melodies that will have listeners groove to the beats from dusk to dawn in an instant. The three-track sampler from Phase contains the following tracks: ‘Everyday’, ‘Cruisin’ and ‘Cray’.
Additionally, the release of this sampler, as well as the upcoming album release, may become one of the most exciting release from the drum-n-bass artist as he has dropped phenomenal releases on labels like Mau5trap, OWSLA, and Vision. The first day of IMS Ibiza 2024 started in a packed indoor summit room with hosts Pete Tong and Jaguar welcoming thousands of delegates, before plunging into the IMS Business Report. In business terms, the report showed that the past year has been one of solid growth – not the dramatic post-COVID bounce-back of ‘22, but a strong, more uniform surge across everything from live events to publishing. In cultural terms, the research showed there’s clearly still work to be done to make sure every part of our community is equal in terms of opportunity and appreciation.
And the IMS Ibiza 2024 theme, ‘Rebuilding Our Community’ resonated throughout the day – in the Brave Space, where HE.SHE.THEY, Downtown and FUGA warmly welcomed delegates with a Break the Ice Session, to Alpha Theta General Manager Mark Grotefeld’s passionate opening keynote about finding purpose as a company, to the pivotal discussion of IMS ibiza 2024: Rebuilding Our Community: How To Bring Back Peace, Love, Unity + Respect, where a group ranging from DJ Pierre to agent Maria May – and unerringly steered by AFEM’s Georgia Taglietti, looked especially to the lessons we’ve forgotten from the acid house era – and how we can apply that spirit to today’s more corporate culture.
In a similar vein, Pete Tong helmed a frank and fascinating interview with Abel Matutes Prats, CEO of the Palladium Hotel Group and scion of a family who have been a major force behind the tourism and nightlife in Ibiza for decades. Covering everything from the scene’s intense rivalries to how young people are being priced out of the Island, this felt like a genuine ‘only at IMS Ibiza’ moment that pulled back the curtain on the power makers in the industry. We also were treated to a scoop: Ibiza’s biggest club, Privilege, will be revamped, renamed, and reopening in 2025.On a more nuts and bolts industry tip, Beatport lifted the lid on the new streaming reality, from its benefits to DJs and artists to the new scams to watch out for, while ‘The Future Of Artist Deals and Contracts’ was a deep insight from leading lawyers into how everything from AI to the rise of single track deals is changing the structure of deals. These two talks alone were genuine potential moneymakers – or savers – for industry pros.

I actually took a bit of inspiration from one of my past EPs, Lost In Time, with this one and wanted to bring those feelings of escapism and vivid imagery back”.

Two of the best in dance music teamed up for an unforgettable show at Coachella this past weekend. Known for their live show visuals, Eric Prydz and Anyma came together for a special B2B. Thanks to a beautiful soul in the crowd who filmed the whole set, we can now all feel what it was like to be there.
There is one insane moment when Anyma’s robot angel meets Prydz’s robo-human at the 2:50 hour mark. There are many other cool moments but the two iconic visuals coming together is awesome. They reach for each other’s hands for Opus Vs. Sumulation.
It is beautiful to see two artists who dominate their respective genres come together. This was truly an awe-inspiring show that we all hope continues in the future. You can watch the set begin in the sunlight and go through the sunset to finally the night.
The set occurred at Coachella’s new Quasar Stage. It was a scenic playground for attendees and featured many extended sets from DJs. The stage looked almost like it perfectly fit in the scenery of Coachella Valley.

The brand-new and specially painted Airbus A320neo’s livery also features augmented reality. Amare will not only bring the festivalgoers to Tomorrowland but will be operating commercial flights as from April 26, 2024.
Brussels Airlines has announced its extension of partnership with Tomorrowland until 2028. Since 2012, the Belgian airline has proudly collaborated with Tomorrowland, bringing tens of thousands of festivalgoers to Belgium every summer. This partnership is built on shared values, including a passion for exploring the world, connecting cultures, and a commitment to environmental sustainability. This summer almost 47.000 festivalgoers will travel to Tomorrowland Belgium via the unique Global Journey travel packages, offering an all-inclusive experience with transportation (flight, bus, train), accommodation (DreamVille, B&B, hotel) and festival tickets. Roughly 14.500 festivalgoers booked a Global Journey package with flight. Approximately 165 different flights from around the world will take place over the two weekends.
Celebrating 20 years of Tomorrowland, Tomorrowland Belgium 2024 will take place across two weekends from July 19-21 and July 26-28. Set to open up a new world in the beautiful scenery of De Schorre in Boom in the summer of 2024, the festival’s new theme ‘LIFE’ is the prequel of the 2016 ‘Elixir of Life’ theme.

Electronic music legend Jean-Michel Jarre became the first-ever passenger to ride in KleinVision's groundbreaking flying car in a move the company called "a new era of transportation with a touch of magic."
That's according to Stefan Klein, an inventor, pilot and the Founder and CEO of KleinVision. The company's AirCar, which transforms from a sports car into a plane in minutes, was certified to fly in 2022 and its proprietors reportedly hope to bring it to market within a year.
"We are bridging the gap between the road and the sky, giving cars the freedom they symbolized 50 years ago," Anton Zajac, co-founder of KleinVision and ESET, said in a press release.
Jarre has been backing cutting-edge technologies since the 1970s, from experimenting with trailblazing hardware in the studio, to paving a path forward for concert audiovisual tech and ultimately changing the way live shows are experienced. Moreover, his early perspectives on society's embrace of AI demonstrated his prescient tendencies back in 2018.
Now, Jarre is taking another leap into the future after his historic ride in the revolutionary flying car. 
"One second you speak to the driver, and next, you are up there in the air—an amazing experience!" he said after completing two flights in the AirCar at Slovakia's Piešťany Airport.

It seems Apple’s Vision Pro headset isn’t doing quite as well as they expected. According to Apple analyst Ming-Chi Kuo, the company has slashed its production target for the number of Vision Pro units that it plans to ship in 2024. Originally, they planned to ship 700,000 to 800,000 units, but now that number’s down to 400,000 to 450,000. Kuo states this is because demand in the U.S. fell way short of expectations, even before the headset launched in markets outside of the U.S.. This means Apple will likely be more conservative when releasing the Vision Pro in new countries.
Kuo previously predicted a global launch before Apple’s developer conference in June, so the headset might be available in more places within the next month. Apple also expects to ship fewer units in 2025 than in 2024, and they’re ‘reviewing and adjusting’ their roadmap for future headsets. Kuo doesn’t expect an upgraded Vision Pro model next year, despite an earlier report suggesting a revision in late 2025.
Back in February, Kuo mentioned Apple was focusing on production efficiency, rather than changing the design or user experience. At that time, he predicted a major Vision Pro update wouldn’t come until 2027. According to Kuo, Apple needs to address the lack of must-have apps, the price tag, and comfort without sacrificing user experience. Weak sales of the Vision Pro are also expected to hurt the development of pancake lenses and the use of microOLED displays in small consumer electronics.

The International Music Summit (IMS) has released their 2024 Business Report and stated that the value of the dance music industry reached $11.8 billion. How the dance music industry arrived at the $11.8 billion mark shows how widespread it became globally in many major markets, including rising ones in Asia, Africa, and Latin America. The $11.8 billion value for the dance music industry rose up 17% from the previous year, which also followed up from the 34% growth from two years before as well.
In fact, Mark Mulligan, Managing Director and Analyst at MIDiA Research, presented the findings at Day 1 of the IMS in Ibiza (which goes from April 24 to 26). In the report, the sector with the largest growth was the “live events” sector, with music festivals and clubs making up nearly half of the revenue contributors for the industry. Independent and mainstream labels, physical and digital sales of releases, music technology brands, and streaming platforms are also among the many sectors in the dance/electronic music world that also made strides as well.

Amongst other key findings in the report were the affirmation of SoundCloud as the #1 source for dance/electronic music producers, tech house’s confirmation as the top electronic music genre on Beatport, and electronic music seeing more growth in followers than rock, hip-hop, and Latin music. Conferences such as the IMS allow industry executives, the artists, and even the fans themselves to see how strong the dance/electronic is continuing to spread amazingly around the world.

Not satisfied with their combo, ‘Know Me Better’ completes its battle team with the addition of legendary rapper and UK Grime trailblazer, JME. Through clever elements, the track portrays a warm Deep House vibe, using synthesised trumpets, fat basslines, soft sine plucks, and the optimal amount of dirtiness on the percussion supporting the whole arrangement. As for the vocal bits, Masked Wolf walks you through the entire track with his iconic style. And just when you thought you had heard it all, boom, JME pops up and elevates the piece to new heights.
The lyrics of the single have a deeper underlying meaning as well, which has its roots in personal growth. As Wolf himself puts it, “There is always an element where people will judge you or get to know you and think they know you better than yourself. I wanted to express these ways of people not really caring for the other side of the story and just caring about their own. The whole verse depicts someone plotting against you, whether it is in love or friendship, to derail you. They think they can outsmart you because they believe they know you better than yourself, well they don’t“.
Regarding the creation of ‘Know Me Better’, Vikk reflects, “Since entering the music space, I have really enjoyed collaborating with old and new friends. Wolf and I regularly play Dota 2 together, from opposite sides of the planet. I have known Jamie for over a decade and always have a great time with him“.

A decade after Porter Robinson released Worlds, he's traveling them.
He's announced his first-ever world tour, "SMILE! :D," ahead of his new album of the same name, which is scheduled to release on July 26th via Mom+Pop.
Robinson is set to travel to five continents for the tour and highlights seem aplenty, but its undeniable pinnacle will come in February 2025, when he heads to Asia. Long enamored with Japanese culture, the dance music superstar will perform in Tokyo, Osaka, Nagoya and Fukuoka.
Fans can expect plenty of whimsical cherry blossoms and Kawaii-inspired visuals, but before then, he'll kick off the tour in North America in late-August, when he'll take over a slew of major cities in Canada and the US. He'll then cross the Pacific for an Australian run—the dates of which have not yet been announced—before venturing into Asia, Europe and South America, respectively.
The tour will feature support from Japanese indie-rock band Galileo Galilei as well as hyperpop stars ericdoa and underscores. Pre-sale passes will be available starting Tuesday, April 30th at 10am local time and tickets then release to the general public Friday, May 3rd.

Robinson recently released two singles from SMILE! :D, "Cheerleader" and "KNOCK YOURSELF OUT XD." Opening up about its recording process this week, he painted a picture of his most vulnerable work yet.

If the world seemed a bit quiet at the end of March, it’s because the entire electronic music community had descended on Miami for Music Week, when Vice City reached its pulsing pinnacle. This year I got to live the dream right on South Beach.
“It’s not rained like this in months,” said the bartender as she mixed me another lethal Mescal Marg. The water on Collins Ave was above ankle height. Car horns were blaring. Down at Bay Front Park, Ultra Festival had wisely been evacuated. 100,000 ravefugees were stomping the streets seeking out afterparties. Fortunately, there were plenty of other shenanigans to keep Friday night cranking. I maybe just needed one of the giant flamingo-shaped inflatables sitting atop the Sagamore Hotel from the Epic Pool parties to float my way there.
Taking decadent to the next level, the Faena Theatre was our first stop, where a decidedly soggy red carpet had been rolled out for the Martinez Brothers and their uber-glam entourage, who I expect glided down the flooded Collins Avenue on a diamond-encrusted jet ski to make their grand entrance. The crown princes of DC10 spanked out a cheeky set of Latin-infused booty bangers as a decadently dressed crowd posed and ponced in their roped-off VIP bottle service pens; while I danced like a maniac in General Admission.
Down the road, it was time to up the ante with my first of the Ultra Resistance parties. This stellar series had opened with Reinier Zonneveldt’s savage Filth on Acid party smashing open five nights of house and techno at the throbbing behemoth club M2 on Wednesday, and Joris Voorn presents Spectrum showcase on Thursday. My baptism of fire came on Friday from Ukrainian techno duo Artbat, who were throwing down the drama underneath a symphony of emerald lasers. Brooding vocals, searing drops and fully charged melodic techno blew the roof off the seething mass of M2 for another sell-out show. “Return to Oz” and “In Your Arms” were among goosebump-inducing moments of a cinematic set that just didn’t quit. And neither did we, holding on til the bitter end until the VIP balcony chuck out time at sunrise. 
Day 2 and the weather gods were still tinkering with the taps upstairs, but it was going to take more than a few grey clouds to stop playing again. Ultra was back in full swing down on Bayfront Park. My first Don Julio of the day began with a quick stroll down the road to the fancy AF Sagamore Hotel, where a double whammy billing of legends was ready to kick off another day of hedonism distilled at the Epic Pool parties. It had all kicked off on Wednesday with DJ Mag presents Joseph Capriati and Louie Vega, followed by Defected on Thursday with the likes of Eliza Rose and Sam Divine and Friday’s Knee Deep in Sound with Hot Since 82 and Kerri Chandler – stacked lineups for days. 
My first taste saw Damion Lazarus kick off with some classic Crosstown Rebels sounds to chase the clouds away from Saturday. Epic Pool parties’ founder Jonathan Cowan jumped on for a set under the palm trees as we began slipping into darkness. The money shot was a signature mammoth set from Danny Tenaglia who rounded out an astronomical journey of house music all night long to once again answer the question of why his music never fails to be the answer. Next year, the maestro will celebrate a jaw-dropping 50 years of DJing and it was as always an honour to be in his presence in a kaleidoscope of piano house and classics under rose pink lasers.
Accelerating into the evening back at Club M2, Saturday was not for the faint-hearted. The speakers were copping a pounding from techno titans Pan-Pot, who paved the way for some heavy artillery from the incredibly talented Amelie Lens, who made her debut at Ultra Resistance this year. I’ve wanted to see Siberian-Italian icon Anfisa Letyago for a long time and she did not disappoint, dropping a deliciously deadly barrage of bangers as ice cannons pummelled the rowdy crowd.
The sun finally showed its full face on the last day of Music Week and set the perfect backdrop for a pre-rave walk for tequilas and tacos in the pastel buildings lining Ocean Drive. Away from the look-at-me workout junkies and BBLs on muscle beach, a saunter from the main drag took us to admire the art Deco architecture down the backstreets. A drive downtown brought us to the impressive murals and street art of Wynwood Walls, where bars and clubs that never close had a decidedly grungier feel. But for the final round, it was back to the skyscraper hotels, swagger, basslines and fluorescent Ferraris for one last South Beach skirmish.
The last day kicked off ducking our heads into The National Hotel to see one half of Solardo shaking South Beach back to life with some quality jacking house and classics. Then we headed next door to see our old friends at The Sagamore.
After their debut last year, Epic Pool Parties was happy to welcome Glitterbox back to the podium for a sequin-encrusted sunshine Sunday session at the Sagamore. And who better to spin the sugar out of the last day than Roger Sanchez. The S-Man brought a set of classics to a sparkly crowd at Glitterbox, with shiny happy people kicking back on cabanas next to the turquoise pool.  
Eric Prydz and Kolsch took the helm to close Ultra Resistance at M2 at the Official Miami Music Week Closing Party, but not everyone took the finale as read.
Back at Wynwood, a marathon session was kicking off at elite sesh club Space, who were setting the challenge of a marathon 36-hour Music Week death throes party kicking off Sunday from 11 pm. A drool-worthy lineup for rave tragics was studded with heavyweights like Marco Carola B2B Paco Osuna, king of the bender Seth Troxler, and Dennis Cruz B2B Pawsa. For all I know, they are probably still going.
Miami really is the elite in raving royalty – what brain cells I have left will reminisce this weekend with rosy tint heart-shaped sunglasses for a lifetime. It’s such a great city, which may be shiny and scene queen on the surface, but not too fancy to get its hands, feet and other appendages gleaming dirty with disco gunk.
If you’re sold on a trip you don’t have to wait for Music Week 2025. A man noticeably missing from March’s billing was Carl Cox, who is heading back there for race Week on Friday 3 May when Resistance will awaken from its disco nap to blow the roof off of M2 again. More here.

This summer, Paris is heating up with an epic open-air soirée headlined by Skrillex.
He'll be joined by WhoMadeWho, horsegiirL, EDM.com Class of 2022 star Anfisa Letyago and many more at the 2024 Peacock Society festival, which is taking over a beautiful public park in Paris, Parc de Choisy. Scheduled for July 13th, the fest will also feature a rare collaborative performance by influential electronic music producers Âme and Marcel Dettmann.
Peacock Society is now in its 11th installation and this year's "Open Air XXL" offshoot is bigger than ever. 25 artists will perform across four stages in the storied Parisian park, including the surging DJ and house music producer Chloé Caillet, who will perform a momentous hometown set.

Peacock Society organizers called the festival "an opportunity to celebrate our love for electronic music together with an eclectic lineup," on Instagram, translated from French.
Fresh off the release of a long-awaited collaboration with Ahadadream, who is also performing at Peacock Society this year, Skrillex will DJ on the mainstage. He follows last-year's massive lineup, which featured sets from Richie Hawtin, Dixon, Ben Böhmer, Nina Kraviz and many more.

Wiwek's beloved EP series, Jungle Terror, is clawing its way back.
The Dutch DJ and producer ushered in a movement a decade ago, when he released the first Jungle Terror EP in 2014. Its groundbreaking music took on a life of its own and spawned a new genre as Wiwek inspired legions of artists in his wake to produce big room bangers with a tribal twist. Prized collaborations with Skrillex, Hardwell and many others poured gasoline on his patented sound, leading to its explosion on the festival circuit at the time.
Wiwek will now resurrect the series by virtue of Jungle Terror V, its fifth installation and first since September 2020. The new EP is scheduled to release on May 3rd via his longtime home of Barong Family, Yellow Claw's record label, he announced this week.
Wiwek recently dropped the EP's first single, a vintage, four-on-the-floor jungle terror track called "Sirens." You can listen below and find it on streaming platforms here.
