H3RMES formally introduces himself with his debut single “Back To Me.” The burgeoning project began less than 12 months ago and has already caught the attention of Like Mike, who picked up the single for release on his Green Room Records – a devision of Smash The House.
Alongside the release of his debut single, H3RMES also delivers a stunning hour-long set in the mountains of Washington state, which can be viewed in full exclusively on Dancing Astronaut.
H3RMES first caught listeners attention with his remix of Cassie’s “U & Me,” released at the end of 2024 on SoundCloud. The remix quickly gained traction on the platform before trending on Instagram. Fans wondered when the upstart project would deliver its first original, but instead of rushing, H3RMES continued to refine his sound before ultimately delivering his debut record.
The result is “Back To Me,” which layers emotive melodies with progressive rhythms, cinematic chords and a beautiful blend of organic textures and ethereal vocals. Listen to H3RMES’ debut single and watch his full set from the mountains of the Pacific Northwest below.

Spotify is facing criticism for allegedly hosting a number of ‘podcasts’ promoting illegal drug sales. Photo Credit: Joshua Coleman
Audio entertainment with a side of drugs: Spotify has reportedly booted a number of “podcasts” advertising the online sale of illegal substances.
Multiple outlets have written about and claimed credit for the takedowns. However, it appears that an X user named Lauren Balik was first to bring attention to the pill-plugging podcasts.
Early last week, Balik posted Spotify screenshots displaying a portion of the relevant uploads. Though we previously touched on Spotify’s pharmaceutical-focused advertising expansion, it seems safe to say these uploads centered on illegal drugs.
Per the mentioned screenshots, the so-called podcasts were entitled “Tramadol No Prescription Exclusive,” “Order Percocet Online Overnight,” “ORDER ADDERALL ONLINE ALL TIME,” and “Buy Tramadol Online with Holiday Discounts,” to name a few.
Often running less than a minute apiece – and sometimes containing no audio whatsoever – the uploads directed one to the appropriate websites via their cover images and text descriptions, the screenshots show.
Surprisingly, on the text side, the not-so-subtle operations seemingly included straight links. Meanwhile, bearing in mind the aforesaid “Buy Tramadol Online with Holiday Discounts” title, several of the podcasts had apparently been uploaded to Spotify months back.
It probably doesn’t need saying, but the audio platform has removed many of the referenced uploads. Nevertheless, the trend predates the recent wave of media coverage and still hasn’t been completely halted.
One needn’t look too hard to find lingering seconds-long “podcasts” (multiple uploaded way back in 2022) promoting websites purporting to sell mail-delivery drugs.
A few of these sites claim to offer legal substances, and their exact status under the law is unclear. In any event, the uploads at hand certainly don’t constitute podcasts and would best be axed from the platform.
Running with the point, the episode raises far-reaching questions about, among other things, Spotify’s content-moderation policies.
When it comes to the service’s library, we’ve already covered the presence of adult-video “podcasts,” seemingly unauthorized music uploads classified as podcasts, and more. Following the idea to its logical conclusion, podcast volume is evidently front of mind for Spotify amid an aggressive video buildout – and stiff competition from YouTube in this area.
Stated bluntly, then, Spotify says it hosts “nearly 7 million podcast titles,” but there’s room for speculation about the exact number of actual shows therein.
Beyond the above-described substance-selling uploads, the service features many non-podcast videos (like TikTok compilations and a whole lot else) that have made their way into the podcast category.

AlphaTheta, formerly Pioneer (the acclaimed DJ gear brand), has teamed up with SanDisk, a big company that makes storage devices. Together, they have released a new, fast flash drive for DJs. This new product is designed to help DJs move and use their music more easily when they are performing.
The new SanDisk DJ Flash Drive has been tailored to work with AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ equipment, it is a product targeted specifically to DJs this time. A key feature is its fast speed, which can reach up to 1,000MB/s. This means that music files will load much quicker, helping DJs have smoother performances, loading times, among others.
To make it easy to connect to different devices, the flash drive has two types of plugs: USB-C and the older USB-A. This allows DJs to use it with newer computers and older DJ equipment from AlphaTheta and Pioneer DJ. The drive can hold a lot of music, up to 1TB.
As a bonus for DJs, when they buy the SanDisk DJ Flash Drive, they will also get to use the rekordbox Creative Plan for three months for free. This is a set of tools that helps DJs organize their music and get ready for their shows, making their work easier.

You might not have planned for a late night out, but Max Styler’s Need You Tonight EP makes a strong case for canceling tomorrow.
Out now via Patrick Topping’s Trick label, the two-track release distills Styler’s recent club-facing direction into a compact package. Both tracks have become fixtures in his recent DJ sets, most notably during his appearance at Coachella’s Do LaB stage last month.
The title track, “Need You Tonight,” with Ōsé trades in futuristic tech house textures, underpinned by a steady, industrial groove and bellowing synth stabs. It’s darker in tone and purposefully built for the peak hours.
Meanwhile, the second, “Let Go,” leans into a subtle acid edge, driven by tight synth work that cuts cleanly through the mix. It’s a controlled build with a sense of precision that speaks to the EDM.com Class of 2025 producer's growth as an artist thus far.

So, strap in, turn up the volume, and get ready for a sonic journey like no other. Welcome to John Summit’s 8.5-hour space odyssey. Prepare for liftoff.
The Dawn of an Epic Set
Imagine the scene: it’s 4am in Miami, the city that never sleeps. In the throbbing heart of this vibrant metropolis, @clubspacemiami is coming alive with the pulsating beats of electronic dance music. The crowd is buzzing with anticipation. And at the epicenter of it all, stands John Summit, ready to take his ardent fans on an unforgettable 8.5-hour sonic journey.
On this balmy Sunday morning of May 11, 2025, John Summit was nothing short of electrifying. From the moment he took over the decks, it was clear to everyone that this was going to be a set like no other. The club, already known for its space-themed aesthetics, seemed to transcend into another galaxy as Summit’s sublime beats echoed around the room.
His set wasn’t simply about delivering one floor-filling banger after another. Rather, it was about weaving a captivating narrative that spanned eight and a half hours, taking his audience on a roller-coaster ride of emotions. From euphoria to introspection, from kinetic energy to tranquil moments of reprieve, it was all there in his marathon set.
The Magic of the Marathon
Now, it’s not every day that a DJ decides to take on the mammoth task of delivering an 8.5-hour set. It requires not just impeccable technical skills, but also a profound understanding of music and audience psychology. And this is where John Summit truly shines. His ability to read the room and adjust his set accordingly is second to none.
In this marathon set, Summit skillfully blended a diverse array of genres. From the compelling thump of techno to the enchanting melodies of deep house, from the hypnotic rhythms of progressive to the raw energy of electro, it was a sonic tapestry that showcased his versatility and command over different styles.
But more than just the music, it was the journey that left everyone mesmerized. Over the course of 8.5 hours, Summit transported his audience from the heart of Miami to distant galaxies. It was a journey of exploration and discovery, a testament to the transformative power of music.

Imagine this: it’s 6:15pm on a Friday. You’ve just clocked out of work and you’re ready to let loose. The pulsing beats of Whitney Houston’s “I Wanna Dance with Somebody” echo off the walls, the rhythm seeping into your veins. This is Fete Music Hall in Providence, Rhode Island. But it’s not your typical nightclub. The party here ends just as others are beginning. Welcome to the Earlybirds Club, where women come to dance their cares away before 10pm.
Designed by two Generation X creatives from Chicago, Earlybirds Club is a roving dance party that caters to those women who have commitments the next morning, whether it’s a career, motherhood, or both. But that doesn’t mean they don’t need to unwind and let loose. In fact, it’s quite the opposite.
Take Kate Campo, a 45-year-old mother of two and sales rep for a pharmaceutical company. She arrived in athleisure clothes, ready to dance the night – or rather, the early evening – away. It’s a club for women like Campo, those who want the exhilaration and joy that comes from a night out without having to sacrifice their morning routines.
Creating the Perfect Atmosphere
There is something beautifully paradoxical about the Earlybirds Club. Flashing lights illuminate the dance floor, and the music is loud enough to make your heart throb, yet the atmosphere is far from overwhelming. It’s a place of camaraderie and shared experiences. The DJ spins an eclectic mix of tunes, from 80s classics to the latest hits, creating a soundtrack that transcends generations.
The idea was to create an environment that harks back to the carefree days of youth, but with a grown-up twist. It’s a space where women can feel free to express themselves, and the earlier hours mean that there is still time to grab that much-needed beauty sleep or prepare for the next day’s responsibilities after all the fun.
For those who are used to traditional nightlife, the Earlybirds Club may appear to be a divergence from the norm, but it is quickly gaining popularity. Its success is a testament to the fact that women, no matter their age or lifestyle, crave a place where they can let their hair down and dance the night away. The only difference is that for these women, ‘night’ wraps up by 10pm.

After partnering with Chromeo to launch a one-of-a-kind casette player last year, nostalgia-crazed brand We Are Rewind has unveiled a new boombox, the GB-001.
Injecting the classic boombox with a modern twist, the GB-001 boasts all the classic functions of a boombox, allowing you to both play, mix and record onto cassette tapes, but can also play tracks via Bluetooth or a 3.5mm jack input. This means you can play music from your phone or laptop, making it a truly modern playback device.
READ MORE: SoundCloud CEO writes open letter following AI Terms of Use panic and promises more transparency in the future But it looks like the GB-001 isn’t just your standard portable speaker; it’s equipped with four hi-fi speaker cones: a woofer and soft dome tweeter on either side.

The combined power output of the speakers is an impressive 104 watts – but, while power can be impressive, We Are Rewind knows that sometimes you have to rein things in. That’s why the company has fitted dynamic power control functions to help reduce distortion.
The GB-001 also has refined equalisation to help balance out your tracks, as well as a spatialisation function to allow for a wider stereo image.
The cassette deck is also equipped with a user-adjustable motor, allowing you to tweak the speed of playback. There’s also a noise reduction circuit that emulates Dolby B. This allows you to play tracks off of Dolby B tapes – though you wont be able to record on them. The system does, however, supports both Type I and Type II (chrome) cassettes for playback and recording.
In terms of recording, the GB-001 comes equipped with a microphone input with adjustable levels. You can also keep tabs on your playback and recording levels thanks to two backlit VU metres.
Visually, the GB-001 is on the money. The Bluetooth pairing button blends in perfectly with the power switch, tape type selector, bass & treble and balance control knobs, making it almost indistinguishable from an old school boombox.
Thankfully, the boombox also benefits from one more modern upgrade – a rechargeable and replaceable battery.
The GB-001 is priced at £379. To find out more, head to We Are Rewind.

Excite Audio’s Lifeline Space module, a powerful reverb tool praised for its ease-of-use and versatility, is now available for less than the price of a coffee from now till 31 May.
READ MORE: The best free and paid-for plugins you need to know about this week Built with flexibility in mind, Space can sit early in your signal chain like a reverb pedal or act as an environment-building tool at the end of your effects path. Sir Elton John has slammed the UK government as “absolute losers” over its handling of artificial intelligence (AI) and copyright law, accusing ministers of siding with big tech firms at the expense of artists.
Speaking on the BBC’s Sunday with Laura Kuenssberg, the music icon criticised Prime Minister Sir Keir Starmer’s Labour government for rejecting proposals from the House of Lords that would have forced AI developers to disclose the copyrighted materials they use to train their models.
READ MORE: “An entirely new process of artist–algorithm collaboration”: “Quantum-powered” AI music platform claims to respect ownership – but how does it work? He says that ministers would be “committing theft, thievery on a high scale” if they went ahead with plans to allow AI firms to use artists’ content without paying.
“The danger is for young artists, they haven’t got the resources to keep checking or fight big tech,” John tells BBC. “It’s criminal and I feel incredibly betrayed.”
“A machine… doesn’t have a soul, doesn’t have a heart, it doesn’t have human feeling, it doesn’t have passion. Human beings, when they create something, are doing it… to bring pleasure to lots of people,” he adds.
John’s comments come after MPs in the House of Commons voted down a Lords amendment to the Data (Use and Access) Bill on Wednesday. The proposed change would have added transparency requirements around training data, ensuring creators gave permission before their work was used.
“The House of Lords did a vote, and it was more than two to one in our favour,” he says. “The government just looked at it as if to say, ‘Hmm, well the old people… like me can afford it.’”
The singer, who has been a vocal advocate for artists’ rights throughout his career, didn’t hold back, describing the government as “absolute losers” and labelling Technology Secretary Peter Kyle “a bit of a moron”.
John also accuses ministers of being out of touch and warns that they are poised to “rob young people of their legacy and their income.” He says if Labour’s current plans are enacted, he’s prepared to take the government to court: “We’ll fight it all the way.”
Meanwhile, a spokesperson for the UK government has said that “no changes” to copyright laws would be “considered unless we are completely satisfied they work for creators”.
“We have committed to publishing a report and economic impact assessment – exploring the broad range of issues and options on all sides of the debate,” the statement read.

The final of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, was once again a vibrant mix of dance anthems, powerful ballads, and a quirky assortment of novelty pop from across Europe. As we approached the 2025 competition, I found myself without a clear favourite, which was a change from previous years. The final felt like an open playing field, where I sensed the strongest performance of the night would ultimately take home the prize. Thus eclipsing all the pre-event hype and betting odds. No matter how the results played out, I always look forward to sharing my personal highlights from this incredible annual international televised song competition.
“Lighter” by Kyle Alessandro (Norway)
What an intense experience for a nineteen-year-old! Kyle Alessandro, representing Norway, stepped onto the stage as the opening act of the ESC grand final—making history as the youngest artist ever to represent the country. His song, “Lighter,” is an electrifying, anthemic electro-pop gem. Though sung with impressive confidence, the track itself lacked distinct originality and memorability. Yet, the extraordinary staging more than compensated for these shortcomings. A solitary flickering flame ignited into a breathtaking display, engulfing the stage in a fiery ring, simulating a wildfire that rapidly spread around Kyle and his talented dancers. This dramatic visual made for a truly spectacular kickoff to the show.

Early performance slots are notoriously tough when it comes to leaving a lasting impact on voters and the audience, and it’s a real disappointment that “Lighter” didn’t receive the recognition it deserved in the voting. Still, Kyle executed his performance with skill and charisma, and I’m genuinely excited to see where his post-Eurovision journey takes him.
“Serving” by Miriana Conte (Malta)
From the very beginning, Maltese artist Miriana Conte made her intentions unmistakably clear: she came to Eurovision to slay! With audacity and flair, she unleashed her cheeky anthem, the irresistibly iconic “Serving“. Throughout the Eurovision journey, this track quickly captured the hearts of fans, emerging as a standout favourite. Miriana’s strategy of pushing boundaries and leaving little to the imagination was almost flawless—until the EBU intervened, insisting on a minor but significant lyric change. But this diva was unshaken. Her boundless charisma teamed with striking visual elements ensured that the essence of “Serving” remained intact. Without a doubt, Miriana has caught the attention of the RuPaul Drag Race fandom. (Possibly part of a grander scheme she envisaged). Miriana for Mighty Hoopla 2026? It’s not just a possibility; it’s a foregone inevitability, I feel!
“Wasted Love” by JJ (Austria)
On sheer vocal mastery alone, the Austrian singer-songwriter JJ (aka Johannes Pietsch) clearly stood out among the Eurovision competitors.
His popopera style is not only powerful but also refreshingly unique. Seamlessly transitioning between pop and opera, JJ makes it appear effortless. His performance of “Wasted Love” was nothing short of breathtaking. The striking contrast and his accomplished falsetto truly take your breath away; it’s a masterclass in vocal excellence. This was only heightened by the dramatic monochrome staging, which added an extra layer of impact. In my view, no one can rival the extraordinary vocal prowess that JJ displays. I found my winner in this performance, and it seems Europe agreed, voting JJ as the champion of Eurovision 2025. Even after the victory was sealed, his winners performance remained astonishing. Deeply emotional, JJ delivered yet another spellbinding show, featuring his mesmerising falsetto. This was definitive proof that Europe made the right choice.
“Hallucination” by Sissal (Denmark)
Denmark truly brought their A-game by sending Sissal to Eurovision in Basel, and I believe she was undeniably the standout female vocalist of the event. It’s utterly perplexing why the Eurovision audience overlooked “Hallucination.” I simply cannot fathom the public’s judgment of this incredible track and performance. The striking similarities to Loreen‘s music were impossible to miss. And you would think that the Eurovision audience would rally behind Sissal’s banger because of that. But for reasons I can’t understand, Europe didn’t embrace the idea of someone delivering such a fantastic homage to Loreen (perhaps they just have a preference for the original). This sentiment was painfully clear in the lack of support for this uplifting pop anthem, as Sissal’s mesmerising performance was shamefully ignored. It’s disheartening to see Eurovision be so harsh to you, Sissal. Just know that EQ Music Blog stands by you. You are an absolute pop queen!
“Survivor” by PARG (Armenia)
This year’s Eurovision Song Contest in Basel, Switzerland, overflowed with powerful anthems, but none captured attention quite like the Armenian representative, PARG. This remarkable track “Survivor” is a stirring declaration of strength and resilience, seamlessly blending with PARG’s unique pop-rock vocal style. From the very first note, this commanding performance pierced through the dazzling display of vibrant lights and swirling smoke, ensuring PARG remained the centre of attention. It was a mesmerising journey from start to finish, solidifying PARG’s status as a standout contender in this competition. For anyone seeking an artist who embodies the same magnetic charisma as Måneskin’s Damiano David, look no further than PARG—an unforgettable musical force destined for greatness.
This was an absolute blast! Be sure to mark your calendars for the middle of May 2026. Let’s come together again to dive into another exciting Eurovision recap from the Grand Final in Austria next year.

Rising LA dance-pop sensation Nieri has been a vibrant force on my playlist since 2022. Moreover, consistently delivering lyrically rich electronic and dance-pop tracks that resonate deeply. His impressive output includes captivating EPs like “Starshine” and “Flow State.” Now, Nieri is poised for an even more monumental leap in 2025 with the release of his highly anticipated debut album. And fans are eagerly awaiting the title announcement. To usher in this exciting new era, he has unveiled “People Pleaser“. A deeply evocative and melancholic synth-pop track that diverges from his previous upbeat anthems. This poignant opener sets a powerful tone, possibly hinting at the artistic evolution that awaits us.
Notably, when songwriting, Nieri immerses himself in a deeply personal space, yet with “People Pleaser,” he elevates his craft by adopting an open letter style of lyricism. This approach powerfully seeks to connect with listeners on an intimate and relatable level.
To further reinforce this intention, Nieri candidly shares his reflections on the relentless quest for approval and the weight of external expectations. He delves into themes of self-acceptance and vulnerability, inviting his audience to confront their own journeys. By seamlessly intertwining heartfelt storytelling with infectious melodies, he forges a genuine connection that resonates profoundly, making “People Pleaser” an unforgettable highlight in his repertoire.
When exploring the recent collaborations like “Dancefloor” with Francine Magee and the infectious guest spot on Kid Souf’s “ReUp,” it’s clear that both tracks radiate an irresistible energy, perfect for the dancefloor. Yet, they barely hint at the groundbreaking electronic soundscape that “People Pleaser” introduces. This latest track envelops listeners in a dreamy, lush atmosphere that amplifies Nieri’s astonishing mastery of falsetto. The soaring high notes are nothing short of mesmerising, sending chills down my spine— truly gave me goosebumps—goosebumps!
With various album campaigns wrapping up recently, it’s encouraging to see a bright outlook for future releases. Nieri is undoubtedly an emerging talent who shows great promise. Above all, I recommend that pop and dance music fans pay attention to this artist, as they have the potential to make a notable impression in the industry.

Epic Games asks the court to require Apple to accept Fortnite onto the US version of the App Store. The two companies have been locked in a years-long legal battle over the mobile giant’s App Store policies.
Fortnite publisher Epic Games is further escalating its attempts to force Apple to allow its game onto the App Store. The game company submitted a new filing requesting Judge Yvonne Gonzalez Rogers to force Apple to accept “any compliant version of Fortnite onto the US storefront of the App Store.”
Epic Games scored a major victory in its multi-year legal battle with Apple over the company’s App Store policies, namely the commissions Apple charges for in-app purchases. Judge Rogers ruled in Epic Games’ favor that Apple was in “willful violation” of an injunction of anticompetitive pricing, which seemingly set the stage for Fortnite’s return to Apple devices.
But Apple said it would appeal the ruling. Further, Epic Games says the company is still blocking Fortnite from both the US App Store and preventing it from being released on the Epic Games store in Europe. As a result, Epic Games announced that Fortnite on iOS would be offline worldwide until Apple unblocks it.
Apple claims it hasn’t been blocking Fortnite outside the United States, and instead asked Epic Sweden to “resubmit the app update without including the US storefront of the App Store so as to not impact Fortnite in other geographies.” But that still begs the question: why block Fortnite in the US?
According to a letter signed by Mark A. Perry, an attorney for Apple, the company has “determined not to take action on the Fortnite app submission until after the Ninth Circuit rules on our pending request for a partial stay of the new injunction.”
Meanwhile, in Epic’s filing, it asserts that Apple is denying it the opportunity to “take advantage of the pro-competitive rules it helped usher in.” Further, Epic claims Apple is “punishing” the game publisher by “shutting it out of the very market it has fought so hard to open—while sending a clear message to other developers not to challenge Apple’s policies.”
Apple’s letter states that if Epic “believes there is some factual or legal development that warrants further consideration of this position, please let us know in writing.” In the meantime, Apple intends to sit on its laurels on the matter until the court decides on its appeal.

Wuki (aka Kris Barman), the Grammy-nominated artist celebrated for his genre-defying anthems, is making 2025 his biggest year yet. Fresh off a notable performance at Coachella’s iconic Heineken House and the release of his explosive collaboration with Skrillex, “BIGGY BAP,” Wuki continues to redefine the sound of modern electronic music. Meanwhile, he released  “Ain’t It Fun,” a reimagined flip of Paramore’s hit that has captured the attention of fans, generating significant buzz across socials and live events.
Known for his masterful skillsets of infusing booty breaks, electro, and house into high-energy tracks, Wuki has already earned a global fan base and critical acclaim. His recent single with Skrillex, captures their mutual love and understanding for pushing the realms of electronic music while incorporating a fury of bass-signatures, distorted elements and hard-hitting vocals that set dance floors ablaze. Expressing his thoughts behind the collaboration, Wuki shares:
“I first met Sonny almost 12 years ago now. We toured in BANDS in VANS. That’s how old we are. When I met him I could tell bro was built different. He had only been producing on Ableton for a few months but his work ethic was insane. Every second he was on his computer trying to make new music. Ngl seeing him become skrillex was like a fire in my ass to step it up. I realized to excel at things you have to be obsessed. Crazy full circle moment for us to get this collab out.”
At Coachella 2025, Wuki had a standout performance that turned the Heineken House into the festival’s hottest dance destination. Fans were treated to a set throwing it back to Wuki’s signature hits and exclusive teases of upcoming tracks.
Looking ahead, Wuki has now released his hit single “Ain’t It Fun” on Breakaway Records. Originally released as a bootleg last year, “Ain’t It Fun” received overwhelming love from fans and DJs across the globe, becoming a must-play track at festival stages and club nights. Wuki knew he had to make it official, delivering an energetic rework that has become a staple in sets from industry heavyweights such as Diplo and more. With rave reviews and viral traction, the single has captured the hearts (and thumbs) of over 30K+ content creators across TikTok and Instagram. The track’s release has sparked excitement on social media, with thousands of fans sharing clips from live shows where the song has been played.
“Ain’t It Fun” is a testament to Wuki’s ability to fuse nostalgia with modern dance, creating a release that is as fresh as it is iconic.

Tiësto returns to his trance roots this 2025 in a special EDC Las Vegas In Search of Sunrise closing set. After years of chart-topping big room and house anthems, the Dutch icon has surprised longtime fans with a major announcement. On Sunday, May 18, Tiësto will take over the EDC kineticFIELD at 4:13 AM for an exclusive In Search of Sunrise set. The announcement came through a nostalgic teaser video that immediately ignited conversations across the global trance community.
Known for pushing electronic music to the mainstream, Tiësto’s decision to revive In Search of Sunrise feels both personal and historic. The series, launched in 1999, remains one of the most respected trance mix compilations of all time. It captured hearts worldwide by delivering deep, atmospheric soundscapes and seamless transitions that defined the magic of sunrise. For fans who have followed him since the early days, this return represents more than nostalgia—it marks the full circle of an artist who shaped a generation.
The Legacy of In Search of Sunrise
In Search of Sunrise first emerged as a mix series that transported listeners to distant places through sound alone. The original volumes, mixed by Tiësto from 1999 to 2010, carried names like Los Angeles, Latin America, and Asia. Each edition embodied a globally unifying spirit, reminding fans that dance music knows no borders. These mixes became legendary for their melodic progression and emotional storytelling, building toward euphoric climaxes that mirrored the breaking dawn.
Tiësto eventually stepped away from the series, passing the torch to other artists who kept the legacy alive. Yet, nothing quite matched the original magic he crafted during that era. Fans have waited patiently, wondering if the superstar would ever return to the sound that started it all. Now, in 2025, they finally have their answer.
In Search of Sunrise: Why Now Tiësto? Why EDC?
Simply, the timing feels right. EDC Las Vegas, one of the world’s largest electronic music festivals, offers the perfect stage for an everlasting moment. The 4:13 AM slot is intentional—designed to align with sunrise as thousands of ravers prepare to welcome a new day. Tiësto’s teaser hinted at “a journey through sound”, bringing fans back to the emotional highs and deep, introspective lows that characterized his trance years. It speaks to the power of memory, the impact of melody, and the collective energy only sunrise sets can deliver. For many, this performance is not just another festival set—it’s a rare opportunity to relive the essence of trance music’s golden age.
The Sunrise That Unites Generations
The upcoming set promises more than music; it offers an experience that unites fans both old and new. Younger ravers, who may know Tiësto only for his commercial hits, will discover a different side of his artistry. Longtime fans will relive the soundtracks of their youth, finally hearing the melodies that first made them fall in love with dance music.
As the kineticFIELD lights dim and the first rays of sunlight appear, Tiësto will step behind the decks not just as a performer, but as a curator of emotion. EDC Las Vegas 2025 is about to host one of the most anticipated sunrise sets in recent memory. And when it happens, thousands will remember why In Search of Sunrise remains timeless.

The announcement is official, Fred Again.. will perform his first-ever Asia set at Fuji Rock Festival 2025 on July 25, but an expanded tour schedule might be in the works. This headline slot has fans speculating even further. Many believe this marks just the beginning of something bigger—a potential Asia tour in 2025. Nothing official has been confirmed yet, but clever fans have been piecing the clues together.
A Secret Fred Again Account Hints at Asia Tour
Fueling the speculation even further, Fred Again.. recently posted a mysterious image on his secret Instagram account. The viral post featured a red shirt displaying the word “again” in four different languages—each representing a major Asian country.
Printed on the shirt were “again lah” (Singapore/Malaysia), “다시” (South Korea), “また” (Japan), and “อีก” (Thailand). This clever design sent fans spiraling into a social media frenzy, convinced it was a deliberate tease for upcoming Asia tour stops. While no official tour announcement has followed, the timing feels too calculated to ignore. The shirt references four key markets that have long supported electronic music on a massive scale. This has fans believing these cities could be next after Fuji Rock Festival.
Could this shirt be more than just a merch drop? Fans seem to think so. The Asia Tour buzz is growing, and Fred Again.. might actually make it happen.
TBF, Fred Again Does Has a History of Expanding Tours
Fred Again.. is no stranger to extending tours after major festival appearances. In 2023, he closed his European run with five sold-out nights at London’s Alexandra Palace. He also wrapped nine consecutive sold-out shows at Los Angeles’ Shrine Expo Hall that same year. His 2024 Australia run was another record-breaker. He sold out three arena nights each in Melbourne and Sydney, plus a pop-up on the Gold Coast. His Sydney Opera House show sold out in 24 hours, drawing over 145,000 ticket requests, setting a venue record. He later added more sold-out dates in Wellington, Auckland, and Perth. Each expansion came after headline festival slots, fueling the belief that Asia could be next.
Why a Fred Again Asia Tour Feels Like the Next Logical Step
Fuji Rock Festival attracts fans from all over Asia, not just Japan. This presents an ideal moment to scale performances across the continent. Thailand, Korea, Malaysia, and Singapore are all key electronic music hubs. These cities frequently host major names like Martin Garrix, Zedd, R3HAB, Alesso, and more.
Logistically, it makes sense. Artists often maximize travel by routing nearby shows after large festival appearances. Fred Again..’s team is known for adding surprise pop-ups and extended dates. The pattern matches perfectly with what fans are seeing now. The excitement across Asia is undeniable. Fans in Bangkok, Kuala Lumpur, Seoul, and Singapore are already bracing for announcements. Given Fred Again..’s surging demand worldwide, it seems likely these cities would instantly sell out.
All Eyes on What Comes After Fuji Rock
Right now, Fuji Rock Festival remains the only confirmed tour stop for Fred Again.. in Asia. However, the clues feel impossible to ignore. Fans have already started setting reminders and tracking official pages for news. If past tour expansions offer any hint, more shows seem not only possible but likely. Until an official announcement comes, all fans can do is wait—and keep their notifications on. Stay tuned for updates here.

Komodo Las Vegas sits inside Fontainebleau, but it feels far away from the late-night chaos we left after the afters. Earlier, Dabin b2b Said The Sky struck us with all the feels at LIV Las Vegas, followed by a private afters that carried us straight into the sunrise. We partied hard. Slept even harder. No alarms. No rush. Just a full recharge before heading to the Speedway for Day 1 of EDC Las Vegas.
When the crew finally regrouped, some headed to Komodo and it felt like the natural move. We weren’t looking for flashing lights or pumping bass this time. We wanted something that hit different—something that felt like we earned it. Komodo gave us that. A space that felt upscale but welcoming to a crew that’s about to take on one of the most important weekends in rave history—EDC.
Stars like Anitta, Ian Somerhalder, Paul Wesley, Kevin Hart, and more have been here. And let’s be real—if John Summit, THE man behind Experts Only and global DJ icon Peggy Gou dined here, we had to see why.
Peking Duck, Pikachu, I Choose You
We didn’t come to over-order. We came to savor the moment. Coming up first, the Dragon Roll—shrimp tempura, crab, pickled daikon, and a little tobiko sparkle on top. Then came the famous Peking Duck with pancakes. It wasn’t just food—it was a show. Crispy skin. Tender meat. Pancakes you wrap yourself like you’re crafting the perfect drop in your set. Every bite felt like it could bring a raver back to life. The combo felt light but flavorful, balancing out the richness of the duck.
We could’ve stopped there, but someone spotted the Pikachu cocktail on the menu. We didn’t ask questions. We ordered. El Tesoro Blanco tequila, Domaine de Canton, wasabi honey shrub, yuzu, and lemon. It hit sharp and smooth, waking us up in the best way. Refreshing without wrecking us before a rave marathon ahead. It was the kind of drink you remember not just for the flavor, but for the vibe it created.
Komodo Vegas, an After the Afters Spot Worth Coming Back For
Komodo’s staff clocked us the moment we walked in. A crew in sunglasses and rave wristbands dangling from our wrists. But instead of giving us side-eyes, they welcomed us like we were the headliners. No pressure to over-order. No pushy upsells. Just real recommendations that matched our vibe. The server knew exactly when to jump in and when to give us space. It felt like they understood the art of letting a crew unwind without forcing the moment.
When searching for an After the Afters spot, know that Komodo Las Vegas isn’t a bargain. It’s Vegas luxury with Vegas prices. But when you think about the money you already dropped on festival tickets, drinks, and VIP tables, what’s one more indulgence? It’s not the place for small talk or deep conversations. It’s the place to remember why you came to Vegas in the first place. To make memories. To laugh over pancakes stuffed with duck. To sip Pikachu cocktails while plotting your next festival run.
With David Grutman’s signature Miami-meets-Vegas flair, Komodo feels like it was built for crews like ours. Crews who aren’t ready to let go of the weekend just yet. From Peking Duck to Pikachu cocktails, Komodo Las Vegas delivers upscale dining for rave crews refueling before diving into EDC magic or another afters.
Check out Komodo Las Vegas here to refuel after, the afters.

Everyone has seen the ongoing feud between James Hype and deadmau5 over their opinions on pre-recorded vs live sets. This has sparked the ongoing discussion of whether pre-recorded sets should be allowed, and whether people who use them should be considered ‘DJs.’
The concept of pre-recorded sets has gradually grown over the past 15 years with some big festivals having it as a rule that DJs are not allowed mix live. This ensures that there are no mistakes, no surprises, and the visuals can be in time. While it is understandable as to why this has somewhat become the norm, it’s also understandable why some fans find this way of DJing to be disingenuous. To be watching your favourite DJs stand behind the decks pretending to mix can seem like a bit of a copout. But is it?
On the flip side you have sets where tracks are being mixed/created live which does require a great deal of skill. It allows you to see DJs pushing their skills on the decks to really get creative with transitions and drops which allows for a unique experience at each set. The downside to this style of set is that syncing up visuals can be quite difficult/impossible which has been the centre of James Hype and deadmau5’s feud. Another thing that can happen in a live set is mistakes which can ruin the set with Grimes’ set at Coachella 2024 being a prime example of what not to do.
Opinions are split on whether pre-recorded sets should be allowed with some people attacking this concept belligerently. However, is it really a big deal? It depends on what you enjoy seeing at a festival/event. Most people at a festival watching a DJ set won’t be able to tell the difference between a pre-recorded set and a live set as they have no view of what’s happening on the decks. If a DJ is performing well, the set will sound good. If the set is pre-recorded, it will sound good. Either way the crowd is going to get to see the DJ they want to see and hear the music they want to hear.
Of course, for some they want to see the DJ performing. The entertainment of watching a world class DJ working the decks with such speed and accuracy is a truly impressive sight. While song choice is the centre of DJing, being able to mix in imaginative ways can elevate a performance to the next level. Along with this if the DJ is mixing live, they can adapt to the crowd so if a certain style isn’t working, they can switch to different music to capture the crowd.
With these things in mind, is it okay to do a pre-recorded set? Yes. Are you entitled to prefer hearing a live set? Yes. Ultimately all that matters is that it’s enjoyable to watch and that whichever direction the DJ goes doesn’t take away from the experience for people. As long as everyone can get lost in the music and live in the moment, then nothing else matters.

There are few artists that can claim to have had as torrid of a journey to the top as Persian singer/songwriter Shab. She’s gone on a long and winding journey all the way from being a refugee to becoming a world-renowned pop star. After releasing her amazing album ‘One Suitcase’ earlier this year featuring the standout track ‘Dirty’, the world’s now being graced with 5 new sensational spins on the song.
It’s clear that fans love the original track as it has now received over half a million streams on Spotify, so why not have some more of it? This set of remixes offers up a great collection of different styles that see ‘Dirty’ take on whole new vibes from each artist. From Beyond Chicago’s deep house twist to the big room elements injected by Dave Audé, each version is packed with club energy. For those that like a bit of funky feel, ManyFew and Wilson’s remix has it in spades while Cutmore’s spin on ‘Dirty’ is full of excellent percussion and chunky bass. There’s even a bit of UK garage in the mix from SHOSH which is a fantastically unique addition to this set of expertly crafted remixes.
After Shab and her family were targeted for persecution, they had to flee their home country of Iran and seek political asylum in America. But the night is always dark before the dawn and Shab found her dawn in music where she channelled her experiences into her wonderful ‘One Suitcase’ album. This album was not only a way of voicing her journey, but also for making a change as all profits from it are going to ‘Choose Love’, a charity that provides vital aid to refugees. With her donations in addition to her position as an ambassador for ‘Choose Love’ alongside the likes of Oprah, Benedict Cumberbatch, Julia Roberts, and Olivia Colman, she is making a difference. Her dedication is worthy of recognition and admiration.
With buckets of talent, over 25 million YouTube views, 13 million Spotify streams, and the drive to make a change in the world, Shab is definitely an artist worth following. The work of Dave Audé, Cutmore, ManyFew & Wilson, SHOSH, and Beyond Chicago on these remixes is phenomenal and should earn them and Shab some much deserved attention.

In a musical era saturated with releases expressly designed for virality, Acyan’s new Ghost Town EP delivers a breath of hauntingly fresh air. Out now via Wubaholics, the five-track project growls and groans with the eerie ambience of the forgotten towns that inspired it.
There’s an honesty to Ghost Town that makes it stand apart. Acyan, whose day job as a Fort Collins bus driver lends him an unpretentious mystique, brings a rare depth of intent. Where others settle for filthy beats and call it a day, he built a narrative shaped by a solo road trip through rural America.
Ghost Town is a post-industrial tone poem told through trap beats both unsettling and captivating. The opening track “RAVEN” sets the scene with delirious, claustrophobic energy that evokes the terror of being followed by a malicious entity. But it remains curiously danceable, a tightly coiled track that presents Acyan as both technician and storyteller.
“KEOTA” follows with more grime, unease and cleverness with delicately crafted sound design that conveys Acyan's chaotic emotional state. A tempo switch in the second drop adds notable flair, seeming as if the track itself is dodging ghosts. Each element feels ominously lab-grown, but the track's emotional potency keeps it afloat in a way that no amount of technical know-how could.
By the time we reach the EP's closer "URAVAN," the tone shifts. It’s not quite catharsis, but it’s something like a sunrise over an empty landscape. Airier and quietly triumphant, it rounds out the EP with a brief release from the existential dread preceding it.
With support from icons like Skrillex and RL Grime, and a fast-climbing profile bolstered by high-profile festival performances, Acyan is emerging as a force to be reckoned with in bass music. Ghost Town feels like a message sent from the edge of isolation, but it's sure to bring people together through its unique sonic identity and depth.
