The team behind London’s Printworks ‘Broadwick’, join New York’s ‘TCE presents’, with a new US venture

Respectively revered for their work within the global live events industry, today – two of music’s most significant independent promoters have announced that they will be combining forces for a series of projects to be announced. New York-based powerhouse TCE Presents and the UK’s revered Broadwick group will form a transatlantic partnership; a meeting of minds that will form brand new experiences in North America. With more information to be revealed soon, this will be one of the brightest unions of expertise the events industry has seen in recent years, taking the live landscape into a brand new space.

Barkin Drops First Release of 2024 With ‘Touch Me’

Barkin presents his first release of 2024 with a new sound. ‘Touch Me’ represents a new direction for the New York artist. The record is faster than his previous releases at 134 BPM. It is Techno–esque while staying true to his signature house sound. 
Barkin always brings the energy to each track and ‘Touch Me’ is no different. It features sultry and inviting female vocals. As energy begins to rise our ears get hints of the coming drop. “Touch me right here and I like it right there” are the final vocals before a massive drop. 
Huge horns and a groovy thick bassline take control of our bodies. The Kick and Sub are expertly crafted and bonded for the club setting. The track continues to evolve as it progresses with an even more tension–filled break and build. The 2nd drop stays true to the 1st but with even more ear candy and tingling effects. Barkin had this to say about the record:

Burr Oak let us know what they can’t live without in the studio.
We had the privilege of having this classic hardware synth in the studio for several years thanks to a friend of Julien’s, and this iconic piece of hardware has become an integral part of our music-making process, infusing our tracks with its distinctive melancholic and emotive synth tones.
What we love about this synth, like many vintage hardware synths, is how its sound evolves over time. Even more so with the background noise becoming more prominent. It’s something we utilized extensively to breathe life into our synth leads, often resampling our presets. We even incorporated the background noises into our special noise folder for creating snares or hats.
It’s a very simple and easy-to-use synth, yet it possesses its own signature sounds, perfect for infusing our productions with retro emotional feelings.
Nowadays, we primarily use an emulation of the Juno 60 (which closely resembles the 106) called Tal-U-No-LX. It’s easier to use as we primarily work in-the-box now, and its influence can be heard throughout our music.

Ghost In Real Life has released her most defiant single yet, a drum & bass heater called "YCTMWTD (You Can’t Tell Me What To Do)."
Out now amid Women's History Month, the track highlights Ghost In Real Life's diverse musical background. The track is a pop-punk-influenced joy ride, forgoing the traditional structure of drum & bass. The halftime-inspired drops are filled with rumbling percussion and winding synths, hypnotizing while an earworm of a vocal ebbs and flows.
The recent wave of Ghost In Real Life's production has heavily leaned drum & bass, from her collaborative effort with Slippy "Youth" to her first single of 2024 "Stuck In Purgatory." Her latest single isn't the only thing she's done to support women recently after releasing a limited merch collection, with 50% of proceeds benefitting Girls Make Beats.
Ghost In Real Life was also recently announced as direct support for Sub Focus, Dimension, Culture Shock and 1991's upcoming sold-out show at the Hollywood Palladium on March 30th.

Truesoul · TSS012 – Truesoul Sounds – DOSEM Mix from Spain This week we head to Spain with an industry legend – Dosem, who recorded for Truesoul monthly mix series
Fusing over a decade of mastering his craft in the studio, along with an unmatched touring pedigree across some of the world’s leading clubbing brands, his fusion of deep textured sounds and driving percussion grooves have driven him to become one of the most influential Spanish artists in the scene. Honing his craft since 2008 with a string of releases on imprints such as Christian Smith’s Tronic, Hernan Cattaneo’s Sudbeat, Slam’s Soma Records and John Digweed’s seminal Bedrock, Dosem’s journey through the underground landscape has been catapulted by a thirst for delivering forward-thinking groove materials of the highest calibre.
With his debut album ‘Parallel’ on Sino bursting him onto the scene showcasing his rich fusion of atmospheric Techno, his musical pallet has gone from strength to strength, with the following albums ‘Origin’ on Tronic and Vicious Magazine’s ‘Album Of The Year’ ‘City Cuts’ on Suara unveiling his diverse approach to building expertly designed dancefloor cuts, while also leading to the coveted spot as one of Beatport’s Top 5 techno artists in 2014. With a versatile sound which is as dynamic as it is forward thinking and with stellar remix duties on Hot Since 82’s ‘Planes & Trains’, which reached #1 on Beatport’s Techno chart, to working his deep house magic on Umek & Mike Vale’s ‘All I Want’, which hit #1 in Beatport’s deep house chart, his ability to cross between different styles of house & techno has led him to work with some of the industries most respected talents.
As an artist whose talent for production is of world-class appeal, so too is his ability to hold down the top-tier dancefloors of the world’s best clubs and festivals. Little surprise then that Dosem’s tour schedule has escalated year after year. Highlights in 2015 such as his ‘City Cuts’ Worldwide album tour bolstered his international profile, alongside warming up for The Chemical Brothers at one of the finest events in the dance music calendar Sónar, on top of stellar performances at festivals like Ultra Miami, We Are FSTVL and Ultra Europe, as well as a and a 4 year residency at Ibiza’s Blue Marlin.
Reaching new soundscapes worldwide with a strong touring presence with his Houstrike brand in Japan with parties at Womb (Tokyo), Osaka and Nagoya, as well as a continued presence across the US with shows through LA, Miami, New York, Chicago and Detroit, his relentless schedule has signalled his sound far and wide across the dance music calendar. Delving deeper into 2015 with his remix of N.Y.’s Finest ‘Do You Feel Me’ which stormed straight to the top of the Beatport charts with a piano-driven, tech house roller adding a fresh dynamic to the 90’s NY house classic, to 2016’s Beatport #1 remix of Mat Joe’s ‘Nighthawk’ melding together more deep grooves and synth work.
Dosem’s recent output continues to reach further towards elite territory. That same year also saw Dosem introduce his original work ‘Projection’ on Toolroom Records, putting forward a jacking house groove and building on his refined and perfected ability to construct percussion built for dominating the dancefloor. Reaching new highs in 2017, Dosem made his Boiler Room debut under the arches of the Archaeological Museum of Catalonia in his home town of Girona. On the road, his diary was littered with high-profiled shows that included Resistance Ibiza, Ultra Miami and Tomorrowland, whilst out of the studio he continued to put forward his sound in new, exciting directions.
Delivering a selection of singles and remixes via imprints such as Houstrike, Octopus Records, Stereo Productions, Toolroom, Incorrect and Tronic, just to name a few. Stepping into 2018 having spent the latter part of 2017 buried away in the studio, it’s fair to say that Dosem is armed and ready to bring a slew of creative output to the table. One of his immediate projects is the development of his Houstrike brand, which has become his multimedia lab for exploring deeper and darker sounds. Ever seeking musical versatility, Dosem plans to enrich Houstrike with a flourishing stream of new output. Further studio activity will see Dosem deliver a cluster of new music on a selection of labels that include Stereo Productions, Toolroom and Anjuna Deep. Whilst away from the studio his movements across the year and back on the road include a run of globetrotting adventures that will see Dosem headline parties in Europe, and North and South America.
A turning point has occurred in recent years thanks to its releases on the renowned Anjunadeep label, which consolidated him as one of the Melodic Techno most demanded profiles in the international club and festival circuit. Releases such as ‘All Locations’, ‘Stay True’ and ‘Extraction’ occupy the first positions on the world charts alongside epic Remixes of ‘1998’ by Binary Finary, ‘Air For Life’ by Above & Beyond & Andy Moor, ‘Hyperlude ‘By Yotto and ‘Parfume ‘by Eli & Fur, and epic performances at Anjunadeep Explorations and Open Air in London. In 2020, Dosem presents his fourth studio album ‘Dream Decoder’, a considered mix of ambient atmospheres and melodic techno preceded by the singles ‘Tower’, ‘Megacities’ and ‘Eternal Summer’. With DJ support from the likes of Tale Of Us, Hot Since 82, Maceo Plex, Camelphat, Gorgon City, Nora En Pure and Solomun and tastemaker stations like BBC Radio 1, Triple J, and KCRW, Dosem’s newest LP is set to solidify his reputation as one of Spain’s premier dance producers.

Grimes & Anyma Announce Relationship

In rather unexpected and spicy Techno news, Italian DJ Anyma and Canadian musician Grimes announced their romance. The ‘Welcome to the Opera‘ duo hard-launched their relationship on social media with a post titled Beauty and the Beast, alluding to the Disney Movie.

Formerly Elon Musk’s wife, Claire Elise Boucher aKa Grimes has devoted the years of her career to produce acclaimed alternative hits like ‘Oblivion’ and ‘Genesis’. Later on, she dabbled more into DJing and producing music that has been remixed by huge artists such as REZZ, Richie Hawtin, and ANNA. Now with consistent showings at EDC and Ultra, Grimes is now a name to watch in the EDM Scene.
On the other side, we have Matteo Milleri, otherwise known as Anyma. The one half of Tale of Us and head of Afterlife Records has expanded the multiverse of Melodic Techno with his brand of iconic audiovisual experiences and sense of fashion. With just a bit longer until the release of the Remix Album Genesys Part II, we are excited for this couple to continue to innovate the soundscapes with their majestic use of technology and avant-garde personalities.
We already know these upcoming productions will be even crazier and bizarre, something we will always welcome.

Ultra Music Festival Overcomes Mother Nature in Miami

As I waded through knee-deep puddles leaving Ultra’s flooded Bayfront Park grounds on Friday night, I’ll admit I had my doubts about whether the show could go on. Mother Nature had just delivered a devastating one-two punch, forcing a complete cancellation of opening night after severe thunderstorms, high winds, and tornadic conditions made it too dangerous to continue. My Ultra wristband was soaked, spirits were damp, but little did I know the festival was about to overcome this adversity in epic fashion.
When Day 2 dawned, the skies had cleared, but much work needed to be done. Crews could be seen spread across the park, zamboni-ing the pools of brown rainwater off the stages and walkways. My friends and I exchanged photos of the daunted workers, wondering if they could possibly pull it off. The answer came that afternoon with a simple tweet from Ultra: “We are working hard to prepare the site before opening the doors. We will be dancing again soon.“
And boy did they ever deliver on that promise. As I re-entered the grounds around 6 pm, you’d never know Ultra had been a mud-soaked swamp just 24 hours earlier. The main stage had been reset with its ear-splitting speakers, trippy laser light shows, and fireworks ready to go. More impressively, the biggest players whose sets were zapped by storms, including Hardwell, Martin Garrix, and David Guetta, had been rescheduled.
Ultra Music Festival RESISTANCE 2024 Then the magic began unfolding. Hardwell stepped up to make up for his lost moment, dropping hit after hit during his rescheduled slot as the Miami crowd cheered the triumphant comeback. Garrix kept the momentum going, and by the time Guetta took the stage, Bayfront was in a frenzy.
More was still to come on Sunday’s closing night. A breathtaking drone light show choreographed to the beats lit up the sky during an unforgettable sequence. And despite not being streamed for the guys at home, Calvin Harris brought down the house as Ultra’s 2024 grand finale.
While the mud-soaked start easily could have been Ultra’s downfall, the ability to rapidly regain its footing and create one of its most memorable weekends is what music festival dreams are made of.
Sure, there were some minor communication lapses and hiccups along the way as Ultra rescheduled. But considering the logistical nightmare they faced after opening night, the fact that they served up an unforgettable experience over the final two days has to be considered one of the greatest Ultimate Miami Music Week “hold my beer” moments ever.
All I can say is: pour me another lemonade bartender because that’s some serious ultra-level lemon-to-lemonade turnaround I just experienced!

Shindig Festival won’t return after this summer

Today, the organizers of Shindig Festival (May 23rd – 26th) revealed that the upcoming 2024 edition will mark the festival’s final installment. The complex events industry environment, along with a pattern of delayed ticket purchases and insufficient Government backing, present escalating hurdles for independent festivals’ sustainability.
Numerous events face a comparable fate, with over 20 others regrettably either canceled or opting to bow out this year. Taking place at the Dillington Estate in Somerset, the event will mark its tenth and ultimate anniversary.
Will Lardner of Shindig Productions asserts, “We prefer to conclude things on our own terms rather than dilute our creations. Our commitment to delivering top-notch parties is paramount, and we are steadfast in our refusal to implement significant changes that do not align with our core values just to persist.”
“We are saddened to announce the final Shindig Festival, but let’s ensure it’s an unforgettable one. We’re putting all our efforts into making this weekend our greatest yet. We owe it to all of you.”
Groove Armada (DJ Set), Brand New Heavies, Kurupt FM, Ewan McVicar, Congo Natty, Mad Professor, John Morales, DJ Rap, and Greg Wilson are scheduled to perform.
Originally intended for the friends of the Ghetto Funk record label and their extended network, this event has evolved over time. The festival organizers aimed to blend elements from various festivals they cherished, crafting an intimate, distinctive, and truly exceptional experience.
Endorsed by Emily Eavis, the organizer of Glastonbury, as a great option for those unable to secure tickets and honored as the ‘Best For Family Rave’ by Festival Kidz, this event has drawn an increasingly varied audience. Today, Goldenvoice Surf Club and Sound Nightclub have announced the lineup for Sound Presents. Set to take place on Sunday, April 14th at the Palm Springs Surf Club. Taking over curatorial duties at the brand new daytime event series, Sound will present some of the world’s leading house and techno selectors in a unique desert venue transformed into the ultimate oasis for dancefloor revelers. 
Sound Presents at Goldenvoice Surf Club will feature performances from Innervisions label head Âme, the masked icon Claptone, FHUO label head Folamour, and Sound resident Keyspan. 
Based in Los Angeles, Sound Nightclub remains an integral part of the city’s underground fabric. It is one of the city’s longest standing independently operated boutique venues. Also serving as home base for electronic music visionaries Framework. Originally founded in 2012, the nightlife juggernaut prides itself on consistently delivering unique production, immaculate sound and unmatched musical curation across a range of open-air and club night properties, including their newly opened Hollywood venue, The Spotlight.  
Goldenvoice Surf Club charts new territory for the festival weekenders. It will offer an idyllic pre-festival experience at one of the desert’s most lush and exciting properties. The Palm Springs Surf Club serves as the quintessential desert oasis for this first of its kind event. A sprawling grass amphitheater stage awaits, also spilling over into the venue’s state-of-the art wave-pool, with wellness amenities and top-tier food and beverage programming spread throughout.
Goldenvoice Surf Club will take over Palm Springs Surf Club during both weekends April 13-14 and April 20-21. Single day GA passes start at $40. Weekend passes are available starting at $75. Far and wide, critics absolutely loved ‘Crazy Love‘, the most recent Above & Beyond singalong. Featuring the lovely, iconic vocals of Zoë Johnston, old-school Trance leads and cute soft sounds. We’ve described the track before as “one of those pieces that works flawlessly: every element, every note, every lyric of the vocal. Everything“. And we stand by that.
Yet this recent take? Woah, it’s just as heavenly.

ANUQRAM, the hottest Electronic duo of the past seasons and the conjoint alias of renowned producers Max Meyer and WILDERNESS, delivered quite the remake. They’ve been releasing an incredible amount of music lately, with tracks like ‘Don’t Stop‘ and ‘Get On‘ being played all over the globe.
Their signature is not to stick to any genres. They’ve made it all: Progressive, Trance, Organic, and the list goes on. The only rule is to ace the productions. And that’s also true for their remix of ‘Crazy Love‘.

This was a great responsibility. Not only was the original coming from one of the largest acts in the Dance world out there, but the song itself is a masterpiece. But these guys jumped over the bar, and they did so in style.
Groovy, progressive, catchy, the remix has it all frankly. The signature melodies are there, Zoë’s celestial voice, a breakdown that, excuse me, remids me very briefly of Above & Beyond’s very own ‘Tri-State’ — my favourite track of all time by the way —, and so many other elements I can’t begin to describe because they all entwine and play along in such a way! If you wished ‘Crazy Love’ would get a deeper treatment, you’re in luck. I would know. I am in luck today!

No stranger to delivering memorable live performances, Armin van Buuren pulled out all the stops at this year’s Ultra Music Festival, bringing out an incredible group of surprise musical guests during his mainstage set on Sunday.
The weekend’s most unexpected moment unfolded as Jon Bon Jovi took the stage to unveil Armin van Buuren’s unreleased remix of the legendary American rockstar’s iconic track ‘Keep The Faith.’ The collaboration came to life after the DJ and producer approached Bon Jovi with the idea of blending his distinctive trance style into the timeless rock anthem, resulting in a powerful, adrenaline-inducing fusion of the their two sonic outputs. Coinciding with Bon Jovi’s 40th anniversary of the band and the renowned Keep The Faith album, which soared to #5 on the US Billboard 200 and achieved double-platinum status, this remix adds an exciting twist to the track’s celebrated legacy.
Gryffin also made a surprise appearance during Armin’s mainstage set to perform their brand new track released on Friday, ‘What Took You So Long,’ which has been highly anticipated by fans since news of a joint studio session between the two artists was shared on social media last fall.
