Tomorrowland 2024 has unveiled its new mainstage design. The theme this year is “Life.” It draws inspiration from the 2016 “Elixir of Life” concept. The stage sketch and pictures reveal a nature-dominated structure.
Vegetation takes center stage. Plants and greenery cover much of the framework. A massive flower crowns the top. Speculation suggests it may open and close during performances. This dynamic element could add visual drama.
Rocks are visible in the design. They provide a natural, earthy foundation. The overall aesthetic blends organic forms with architectural elements. It creates a fantastical forest-like environment.
New technologies on the Tomorrowland mainstage
In recent years, Tomorrowland has embraced LED technology. This trend continues in 2024. However, the festival maintains a balance. LED walls are strategically placed. They complement rather than overpower the physical design.
Visual effects will play a crucial role. Custom-generated visuals will integrate with the stage’s structure. This approach aims to create a seamless, immersive experience for attendees. The goal is to blur the line between digital and physical elements.
The concept
The sketch is primarily in black and white. This emphasizes the intricate details of the design. The central flower stands out in color. It showcases soft pinks and blues, hinting at its importance in the overall concept.
Tomorrowland’s stages are known for their storytelling. This year’s “Life” theme suggests a narrative of growth, renewal, and natural beauty. The stage appears designed to reinforce this message visually.
Tomorrowland 2024 mainstage sketch
Scale is a key factor. Tomorrowland mainstages are typically massive structures. This design seems to continue that tradition. The intricate details suggest a complex build process ahead.
Environmental considerations may be at play. The nature-focused design could align with sustainability efforts. Tomorrowland has previously highlighted eco-friendly initiatives.
Fan reaction to the unveiling has been enthusiastic. Social media buzz suggests high anticipation for seeing the realized version. Tomorrowland’s stage reveals often generate significant online engagement.
The 2024 mainstage continues Tomorrowland’s tradition of innovation. It promises to be a visual spectacle, blending nature, technology, and imagination. Festival-goers can anticipate an immersive, awe-inspiring centerpiece for this year’s event.

One of the early MCs at the festival, now Coppa has been chosen as ‘Voice of Let It Roll’ for 2024 by the festival to become the official voice and representative in a full long-term brand partnership & collaboration. He’s been in the scene for almost 20 years and as a result, he has an understanding of the art form like no other.
Coppa started out in the UK, where everyone understood his words without question, but realised the first stumbling block while touring China: this is where he learned how to guide the audience without them understanding a word of English, and he continued to perfect this craft in the rest of Europe.
Coppa likes to describe himself as a ‘DIY MC’, with his debut album ‘An Act of Aggression’ being the most important example of that. His upcoming third album and new label We Don’t Play will be the rebirth of this, and his collaboration with the German artist Brazed titled ‘Strange Things’ is the first step.
Congratulations on becoming the voice of Let It Roll. How did it feel when they told you about that?
I was amazed, but when they explained what they were looking for, it really sounded like me. It’s awesome, and I’ve been involved with Let It Roll for years now. It’s nice to make it official. The first Let It Roll I did was in 2012. I was one of the early MCs there, so the relationship was already there. They know what I do, and it works. It’s amazing to officially link forces. MCing in Central Europe is different from MCing in the UK, which is where I’m originally from. I came from the UK rave circuit, but there’s a different delicacy needed when you’re MCing for European crowds.
What’s that difference you’re talking about?
There’s a different understanding of the role of an MC. There will be people at the rave who might not necessarily understand English, or have it as their first language. This is a huge thing and I feel you have to be a lot more of a master communicator when there is this obvious language barrier. You have to be able to get your point across and express and communicate without necessarily relying on people catching every double entendre in your lyrics. It’s a whole art form to communicate with large amounts of people without necessarily using your words as your first point of entry.
When did you learn how to do that?
I had the opportunity to tour China a long while ago, and that’s when I found out that not everybody always understands my lyrics. Drum & bass is quite new in these places. One night, when we played in Shanghai, they had a screen up behind us, explaining what drum & bass was in Chinese. Having a sea full of faces just staring at you, you have to learn pretty quickly how to communicate and to get people involved. Things like that were a very good training ground for me. In other situations, it’s either sink or swim, and I had to learn to swim very fast. I’ve always kept those principles and translated them over to European and other international audiences.
Do you have special things planned for Let It Roll this year?
Yeah, lots of stuff. I’m still waiting for the full script, but there are so many things. I’m going to be hosting a whole bunch of shows. They’ve got a lot of in-festival shows planned, and I’m involved in the opening ceremony and alot activities and PR stuff on site. My voice and presence will be all over the festival across 4 days. A lot of my work consists of being involved in all the promotional material aswell.
I’ve also done the opening shows and the DJ intros and audio-visual stuff for the shows that they had already this year, like the big Let It Roll on tour in London, for example. That was all my voice with all the audio-visual stuff. For the Let It Roll on tour in Ostrava, and also for the SXSW takeover they did in Texas. It’s a lot of different things outside of MCing. They still wanted to keep the role of an MC, but they wanted to make it into a whole bigger thing. So, for example, at Let It Roll, I’ll be there for the full four days of the festival. I’ll be working like every day, all day. But on Saturday, for example, I will be also doing the Eatbrain versus Blackout stage.
This is quite a big thing to achieve! What other things do you have on your bucket list?
That’s a good question, because everything on my bucket list, I’m doing at the moment. It’s an active list, but one of the things which is coming soon is finally revealing my hip-hop solo project, a hip-hop/ urban music project with myself as the main protagonist. For many years I’ve been writing and recording for other genres of music outside of drum & bass, I’ve done everything. I’ve toured with eight-person live funk bands in Greece for example, performed with Felix the Housecat, Kruder & Dorfmeister and so on… I’ve done so many things. There are so many people in different areas of music who didn’t even know that I made drum & bass.
I’ve also been songwriting for other projects and other people for years, but I’ve been waiting for the right time and the right circumstances to finally put together my own thing. I’ve been working on that silently for the last year and a half and we are ready now. My ecosystem around it is ready as well. So yeah, this is my bucket list and we’re going to take that live as well. To release my first hip-hop/ urban album this year, by the end of this year, that’s the end goal.
What are some of the most special things that you’ve been able to achieve so far?
One of my proudest moments was when I did my first album, An Act of Aggression. I released it in 2015. I’d done a lot of features and a lot of releases everywhere already, but no one had ever asked me to do an album before. So I thought, you know what? I’m just going to do my own album and do it my way. I set up my own label at that time and what I’m most proud of is the fact that I put together the whole project by myself as far as A&R and everything goes. I was working with my engineer and the producers, but it was my brainchild, down to the artwork. Everything was done how I wanted to do it.
I released it and it went amazingly well. I got a lot of exposure from it. It also got MixMag drum & bass LP of the month in Germany. I had songs on the radio, I got to start my live show and I performed it everywhere, and that was all my own doing. That’s the thing I’m most proud of because I’ve always wanted that DIY thing from the beginning. I also believe that no one’s going to offer you opportunities, you have to create your own opportunities. For me, this was the most important example of doing exactly that.
Seeing that your work brings you that far, that’s amazing! You’re working on your third album now. How is that going?
This is the rebirth of that DIY spirit, I have set up my own new label again. Previously, I was too busy, but I decided to take the time to invest in my own thing again because when I do things, it works. I’m now working on my third drum & bass album which is going to come out on my new label, which is called We Don’t Play. We have the first release for that on the 17th of July. It’s called ‘Strange Things’, a collaboration with Brazed, from Hamburg. I’m looking forward to curating my own releases again and having full artistic control over what comes out. It’s never confined to any sub-genre of drum & bass, or even of electronic music. I’ll have a combination of sounds on one LP. I create all styles of drum & bass and electronic music. To have my own label is the only option to have that freedom to be able to fully express myself. The people I collaborate with know this too. One of the first questions they ask me always is, “So what style do you want?” I always tell them to do what they want, and that I’ll do what I want. This way, we make something special and unique. There are no rules. I find, artistically, that’s when you get the real magic from people and the situation.
Can you tell us more about this first release, ‘Strange Things’?
Brazed and I have been wanting to collaborate for a while now. For me, it needed to be somewhere where there were no rules or where it wasn’t tied to what some people might feel is my sound. I wanted to have a completely free space to create. They were the first people who came to mind. We have two more releases on the label already planned. One, we’re going to try and get out before Let It Roll. The ones after that are going to be part of my album, so the album’s probably going to be the third release on the label, hopefully before Christmas.
You’re also working on a new live show. Is that tied into the album?
It’s not necessarily tied into the album, but it is a place where I’m going to be able to showcase and perform a lot of the album material. I think there are over 100 drum and bass tracks with my voice on them. So, I have a lot of songs that people have loved for years or are currently loving. The great thing about this live show is it’s the only place on the planet where they can hear that done live, and I can always plug in the new material to do as well. I used to do these kinds of shows a lot, and I miss that. Every time one of the DJs who I’m working with is playing some of my music, which happens a lot, people are always like, “Come on, sing along.” We’re getting back to that this year.
Looking forward to seeing the outcome of that! Another thing you’ve recently done is signing with Bumblebeat Management. What made you choose them?
I’ve been speaking to Wessel for about two or three years now, about music and just back-and-forth banter. We share a lot of mutual acquaintances, and he’s also the label manager for Don Diablo’s label, Hexagon. I’ve done a lot of dance music projects for my former management, so we’ve crossed paths without realising it. I’ve always had an eye on him and I really like the way he moves. When I approached him about us working together, he understood me on the first go. He understood exactly what I was talking about, what my vision was, and where I needed the assistance. It’s the perfect fit.
Any last thoughts?
I’m looking forward to seeing everyone at Let It Roll this year, and I’m looking forward to sharing the time and the experience and my first time there for the full weekend. I’ve always just been in and out of the festival. Finally, I want to do a little roll call. Shouts to Tommy, who is my right-hand man when it comes to all my work and my operations. Shouts to Wessel. Shouts to Joe. Shouts to Hannah. And everybody else who I might have forgotten who I really wanted to shout out.
Martin Garrix & Carolina Liar – Smile Teased just a little over 1 month ago during his number of shows in San Francisco, Martin Garrix is quickly delivering with one of the fan favorites from his set with ‘Smile’. Created alongside Carolina Liar, the single delivers that infectious dance tone that Garrix previously delivered with ‘Hold On & Believe’ and is a welcome addition to the superstars catalog.
David Guetta & Cédric Gervais – Switch No strangers to each other, Frenchmen David Guetta and Cédric Gervais have previously worked together on the single ‘Would I Lie To You’ in 2016. Now, 8 years later they come together to unleash ‘Switch’, a bouncy and powerful tech house tune that packs a major punch.
Topic, HUGEL & Arash ft. Daecolm – I Adore You From two Frenchmen to another, HUGEL has teamed up with Topic and Arash to release their latest single ‘I Adore You‘ ft. Daecolm. This collaboration, which features the distinctive vocals of Daecolm, is set to take the music world by storm. The afro-house infused release has a quintessential Summer feel that has been exploding across the likes of TikTok and Instagram even before its official release with over 36 million views across all social media.
Mojave Grey – Faith The trailblazing musical duo, Mojave Grey, have just released their powerful new single ‘Faith’. This track is the eagerly awaited first release from their forthcoming debut album and promises to showcase their signature blend of desert dance music. ‘Faith’ explores the theme of venturing into the unknown, blending dark melodies with a robust, aggressive dance beat that encapsulates the bravery required to face fears head-on. The track is enriched by haunting Gregorian harmonies, adding a spiritual layer to the already deep emotional resonance of the music.
Night Tales – You Found Me Night Tales is continuing their hot streak of singles with ‘You Found Me’, which also follows their Coachella debut in April and recent sets at Breakaway Minnesota and LA’s The Fonda Theatre. It builds on the success of their hit ‘From Inside’. This track is fueled by a deep house bassline, airy effects, and powerful vocals, while weaving in elements of melodic techno via two major synths before the drop. It is equally primed for both the dancefloor and relaxing settings, such as an illuminated beach under the nighttime sky.
Oliver Heldens – Physical Inspired by the 1983 film ‘Flashdance’, Dua Lipa’s ‘Physical’ was one of 2020’s biggest hits, having been nominated for Song of the Year at the 2021 Brit Awards while appearing on numerous 2020 year-end lists and reaching the top 10 of charts globally. Just as festival season kicks into full gear, Oliver Heldens offers his exciting peak-time cover of the international smash.
HI-LO — BADDADAN BAD Known for his filthy basslines, the Dutch techno titan once again showcases a masterclass with that signature darker sound, taking listeners on a thrilling auditory journey. This one starts off with a ton of sandpaper and grit, born in a rugged alley on the tough side of town. Add a splash of Ragga over the top; this track is downright incendiary.
Honorable mentions: Agents Of Time, Camden Cox – Vertigo deadmau5 – Sever Denis Sulta – Gluhen Dillon Francis x chloe moriondo – Lonely (Planet Earth) Dom Dolla – girl$ (Layton Giordani Remix) Excision & Juelz – Jump Out Gorgon City – Reverie (Album) Jack Back & CeCe Rogers – Freedom 2024 Jengi, The Magician – Things We Do Julian Jordan – Overdose Lost Frequencies & Tom Odell – Black Friday (Pretty Like The Sun) LUM!X x Lucas & Steve – Can’t Forget You (Club Mix) Regard – Call On Me Sefa X D-Block & S-te-Fan – Symphony of Life Vintage Culture – Find A Way (VIP Mix) Will Sparks – Between Us

The title of Gorgon City's new album is just one word, but it says everything we need to know. It's called Reverie, the term we use to describe our state when we're pleasantly lost in our own thoughts. But when it comes to raves—where achieving that headspace should be second nature—we're living in a time when the compulsion to share our moments with the world prevents us from fully inhabiting them ourselves. Presence has become a lost art in the era of likes and shares and all the other hollow social media interactions that flush our serotonin instead of the music. In Reverie, where presence is measured in sweat instead of digital validation, Gorgon City mutate their sound and dare listeners to plug into club-driven beats rawer than ever.
Gorgon City.c/o Universal Music Group
Their transformation is both jarring and exhilarating. Reverie finds Gorgon City trading velvet gloves for brass knuckles, dumping their familiar, melancholic anthems in favor of hedonistic club bangers designed for reckless abandon. It all hits within an instant thanks to the album's opener, "Are You Feeling It Too?,” which flickers like a match struck in a dark room, illuminating hidden corners of the duo's sound with tinctures of techno brilliance. They plunge further into the underground in "Make It Happen," an acid-fueled collaboration with iconic Chicago dance music producer DJ Pierre; and "You Know It," a down-and-dirty house track. Ride-or-die fans of Gorgon City will find solace in the sublime "Landslide," an undeniable highlight wherein Poppy Baskcomb's haunting vocals mirror the unstoppable force of a crumbling psyche. Her lyricism, a postcard from emotional free-fall, fascinatingly confronts the very concept of reveries and leaves us wondering whether or not we can ever achieve it at all. The duo then extend an outstretched hand with "Keep Your Head Up," an uplifting cut where long, tense builds blur the line between ecstasy and exhaustion. Together with house music vet Harry Romero, they produce a track that hits like a midnight drive through a lightning storm—urgent yet hypnotic. "We wanted to come back with a club-focused album and once we got asked to headline the Yuma tent at Coachella it was a perfect catalyst to get it done for that show and environment," Gorgon City explained in a press release. "It came together quite quickly, and we loved the reactions we got to the tracks in our DJ sets." Reverie is out now via REALM/Astralwerks. With his first EP in several years, deadmau5 reveals that his hunger for innovation in the disciplines of techno and house music remains unyielding. Though modestly titled, some ep speaks volumes, showcasing the thriving vitality of the producer's melodic, raw and rugged techno stylings as both deadmau5 and TESTPILOT. Leading the charge is the previously-released "Quezacotl," a track that evokes the mystique of its namesake with uplifting melodies and warm soundscapes. Premiered during his epic "retro5spective: 25 years of deadmau5" shows, this song had already captivated audiences. The same goes for "Wet," an eight-minute techno odyssey under deadmau5's alter ego, TESTPILOT, the first solo single released under the alias in a decade. An unquestionable highlight of some ep is "Server," a methodical track characterized by whirring effects, driving basslines and plotting kicks. The song's intricate layers of sound and precise production create a sense of mechanical precision, making it a surefire standout.

And as the final reverberations of that track dissolve into the EP's void, the project leaves a haunting echo; in the saga of deadmau5, his latest offering appropriately represents equal parts familiar and uncharted, leaving longtime fans to wonder which direction he'll take things next. Before then, however, fans can catch deadmau5 at the return of his beloved Halloween-themed "day of the deadmau5" concert experience, which hits a number of major international cities starting in early-October. The stage area blazes with light. Reds and golds dominate. They create a fiery atmosphere. The lighting transforms the structure. It becomes a living entity.
Smaller arches flank the main one. Columns support them. Every detail adds to the opulence. Flowers, scrollwork, and theatrical masks adorn the stage. Each element tells a story.
This stage is a technological marvel too. The sound system is top-notch. Lighting rigs are complex and precise. They can create any mood.
A sea of people gathers before the stage. The crowd is dense and energetic. Hands reach up. Bodies move to the beat. Colorful accessories are everywhere.
The Belgian sky provides a perfect backdrop. Blue stretches overhead. White clouds dot the expanse.

A seed is planted, it anchors roots and a flower blooms. The pedals fall as the flower wilts and returns to the soil. The cycle of life sources the old to empower the new, a concept that's very much present in Whethan’s new album, Life of a Wallflower Vol. 2. You can trace the project's DNA to its predecessor back in 2018, but Whethan’s latest effort is entirely distinct from his debut. And it's apropos that he constructed a sequel to Life of a Wallflower when he did. Whethan "hit the reset" button on his creative approach, he tells EDM.com, while enduring Mother Nature’s volatility during and after the pandemic. The outcome is a swathe of fresh creativity while adopting the soul of the original project. "I felt like the world kind of slowed down for a little bit for many reasons," Whethan recalls. “It gave me more time to reflect on myself and work on this new sound and a bunch of different sounds." "Trying to collaborate with many different artists in many different fields. This is very reminiscent of six years ago when I did the first project. If you will, this feels like the return or the next part in the series.” World-building is a fundamental component of Whethan’s music. He keenly pays attention to it in all mediums, whether the immersive vices of the Cyberpunk video game’s futuristic metropolis or the cruel, captivating beauty of the Dune films. The latter specifically seems to sometimes inspire Life of the Wallflower Vol. 2 with its rich desert theme and sounds. It's appropriate that the lonely Wallflower sprouts in such difficult terrain. Whethan is a world traveler who is always pursuing something new. Take for example Middle Eastern instrumentation and rock music, each of which he's enthusiastic about exploring further. His youthful curiousness for discovery tethers the two volumes of Life of a Wallflower. “It's a blessing and a curse. I can't ever seem to want to make the same thing twice,” Whethan says. “I love pushing boundaries and seeing what kind of new sounds I can come up with. This one is different, but the energy and feeling are similar. The sounds aren't the same, but they might evoke the same emotion or the same feelings that the first one gave me. But in a modern current landscape twist.” It’s been nearly a decade since Whethan’s debut original release, “Can’t Hide,” a song predating Life of a Wallflower by two years. His relative longevity makes it easy to forget that he's very much in bloom. The 25-year-old producer and DJ has been touring as an artist since he was in high school. It’s an unusual circumstance that’s rotted the careers of many young artists plagued by the entertainment industry's seedy side. That’s not Whethan’s story. He has fortunately been nurtured by a caring team and there isn't much he'd change about his work-life trajectory, perhaps only the composure that comes with time. “Just chill out,” Whethan says. “Looking now at where I'm at, I could just think back to certain times when I was just so stressed out and just destroying myself mentally to the brink to try to finish something or do something that maybe deep down I know wasn't really, but I don't know.” He’s even hesitant to call that a mistake, highlighting an important truth about tough learning lessons. “That's that part of me that's like, well, you never know,” Whethan says. “It's like the picture of the guy cutting in the rocks and the diamonds are right there, but you don't know until you break that next rock.” “So I always believed that it was all for a reason. That's why I don't look back with any regret but, definitely, just chill out. It's going to be okay. Trust the process.” Whethan was well into his senior year of high school when he got a life-changing offer to tour with The Chainsmokers in 2017. “I was still in high school while I was setting up my team,” Whethan recalls. “I had enough credits to graduate. The Chainsmokers had offered me a slot on their tour, which even looking back is still one of the most massive, insane tours I've ever seen. It was super eye-opening at the time, especially in high school, to just go and see what a tour of that scale looks like. It felt like a Taylor Swift-sized tour. There were multiple semi-trucks and stadium arenas every night. Getting a taste of that was truly amazing.” The logistics of a high school senior skipping class to tour the U.S. for a mainstream act’s world tour sounds like a wonderfully absurd movie plot. But in reality, it was surprisingly seamless in its execution. “My school was down with it! They were super supportive," he continues. "I had been talking to my guidance counselor during my senior year because people started to pay attention because things were starting to make their way on the internet. They were supportive and they wanted to look out for me. They said, ‘You have enough credits to graduate early if you want to get out a semester early and go do the tour.’ I just said, ‘Yes! Let's do it.'" "The parents were super supportive too. My dad is a math teacher in high school—not the school that I went to—but a different school. Even watching him, someone who's in the education system, say, ‘I think this is a good move. I think you should do it,’ was amazing.” Whethan has often trusted the process. It’s led to a remarkable career from a young age and a phenomenal new project earning rave reviews. It’s hard to gauge what’s next for an artist who’s constantly adapting, but in whatever way dance music's Wallflower branches out, he does so full of life. Aspiring Porter Robinson doppelgängers can safely mark their calendars for a rare opportunity to meet the artist and snag designer clothes from his own closet. Scheduled for 2pm PT today, July 18th at a to-be-announced location in Los Angeles, the pop-up event will take place just a week from the release of SMILE :D, Robinson's long-awaited third album. Lucky attendees will have the chance—likely on a first come, first served basis—to secure pieces from his personal collection, transforming his stage-worthy threads into cherished fan memorabilia. That includes, according to a video shared today by Robinson, pink and green Trailgrip GTX sneakers from Moncler, which retail for $750; and a rare Raf Simons sweater, which appeared in the Belgian fashion designer's Fall/Winter 2021 collection.
It seems this treasure trove also comes with the promise of new music. Robinson shared a snippet of a new single, which features a familiar voice many fans are speculating belongs to Madeon, his prized "Shelter" collaborator. We're unable to confirm his involvement at this time, but fans won't have to wait long. SMILE :D is scheduled to release on July 26th, 2024 via Mom + Pop. Check out the teaser below.

Another festival could, may, or might, fall victim to the bad weather theme we’ve seen for the past months.
It’s a worldwide trend, though an undesirable one. Several music festivals have had their weekends washed down and out by rain lately, From Tomorrowland Brasil, to Ultra Miami, to Movement, and even, memorably so, Burning Man. Weather conditions are, as far as we’re aware, largely out of human control, and so festivals can only receive the news and get ready for the adversity.
This weekend, all eyes are on Tomorrowland.
Tomorrowland Faces Scorching Temperatures, Then Potential Storm Threat
The eagerly awaited first weekend of Tomorrowland might face a weather challenge. Forecasters are predicting high temperatures reaching around 85 degrees Fahrenheit (30 degrees Celsius), with Friday and Saturday offering a brief respite from rain. However, the lack of rain may lead to increased pressure on emergency services. Heatstroke is a very real thing.
As the weekend progresses, the conditions will change. A band of potentially severe thunderstorms is forecast to roll across the region overnight from Saturday to Sunday, posing a potential risk to campers at Dreamville. Some weather models hint at the possibility of disruptive storms. Despite this potential threat, organizers remain calm and somewhat confident.
Are you a producer and you want your song featured on EDMTunes? Follow this link right here.
“We have a dedicated on-site meteorologist who provides ongoing updates on weather conditions“, stated spokesperson Debby Wilmsen. “Comprehensive emergency plans and response scenarios have been established for a variety of situations, encompassing both rain and intense heat. The reality is that the weather is ultimately unpredictable, so our focus is on proactive preparation for any eventuality“.
In the past, Tomorrowland used hail cannons to dispel thunderclouds — because rain is the last thing you want with a main stage in a valley. At the time, weatherman Frank Deboosere, among others, dismissed their use as nonsense. “We haven’t had hail cannons for years”, says Wilmsen. “We monitor the weather situation from the Event Control Center (ECC), which monitors safety on the site”.
The final day of the first weekend is forecast to be cooler and more changeable, with a chance of showers. Maximum temperatures are still expected to range between 66 and 73 degrees.

Exchange Rate for Pearls and the cost of items and drinks
The exchange rate for Pearls at Tomorrowland 2024 is set at €1.82/$1.99 per Pearl. For more than a decade, Desert Hearts has amassed a growing following of devoted partygoers who radiate self-expression while embracing the ethos of house, techno and love. Their dedicated fanbase materialized through the years via outlets like their record label, multi-city parties and of course, their flagship Desert Hearts Festival.

The multi-day camping experience is the cornerstone event for supporters of the brand. Known as a refuge for the radicals at heart, the festival had been struggling to find its footing in a post-pandemic world. After spending years cultivating memories inside California's Los Coyotes Indian Reservation, event producers succumbed to the state pandemic lockdowns, pivoting to livestreaming sets throughout 2020 and 2021. In 2022, the festival emerged from the pandemic having lost its longtime home, settling down on the shores of Lake Perris instead. The expansive Inland Empire reservoir allowed the Desert Hearts crew to tinker with their once tight-knit blueprint and offered new amenities like swimming, "glamping" and an additional performance stage. As the team geared up for their return to Lake Perris in 2023, festival organizers pulled the plug mere weeks before the event was set to take place. Citing changes in venue requirements and rising production costs due to inflation, the affair (and its full lineup) relocated to the grounds outside the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum. Hoping to return to their roots as a multi-day transformation festival, the crew scoured the landscape eager to find a new home for their event in 2024. However, after a partnership opportunity arose with Walter Productions (Burning Man's Camp Walter, Walter's Where? House, Phoenix), the Desert Hearts crew set their eyes on Arizona for their triumphant return.

The creative alliance between Walter Productions and Desert Hearts called for the festival to be relocated to the Northern Arizona mountains outside of Flagstaff. Surrounded by Ponderosa Pine trees and miles away from nearby residents, the new locale was ideal for a festival of its kind to thrive—and thrive it did. Throughout the Independence Day holiday weekend, Desert Hearts and Walter Productions produced quite possibly the best Desert Hearts Festival since its days at Los Coyotes. While the infinite clusters of stars illuminated the sky, the spirit of Desert Hearts ignited the mountaintop. From far and wide, attendees of this renegade festival embraced their self-expression as they looked inward for self-discovery.

These eccentric beings dazzled throughout the weekend with an array of eclectic fashion, ready for any runway. Sequins, glitter, top hats and all things weird and quirky were the name of the game, straying from normative lifestyles and urging attendees to shine in one's uniqueness.

However, it wouldn't be a Desert Hearts party without its signature 24/7 nonstop house and techno. For 72 hours straight, the mainstage of the intimate festival stayed true to its "one-stage, one-vibe", allowing for a wide array of electronic tastemakers to showcase their talents behind the decks.

Notable performances throughout the weekend include Atish, Mary Droppinz, Nala, VNSSA, Lubelski, Tara Brooks, Techno Tupac, Doc Martin and Walker & Royce. Of course, we'd be remiss to not highlight the closing family set consisting of founding Desert Hearts members Porky, Marbs, Lee Reynolds and Mikey Lion.

As an independent festival production company, Desert Hearts found a way to weather the post-pandemic storm and come out of it stronger than ever.
