"Can't Tour Without Those": Five HARD Summer 2024 DJs Share Their Touring Must-Haves

As one of the premier summertime festivals in Southern California, HARD Summer is expected to once again deliver two days of heavy-hitting beats and groovy melodies under the sun. 
Poised to take over Inglewood's Hollywood Park this weekend from August 3-4, Insomniac's summertime soiree will boast five stages spread across a massive footprint directly next to SoFi Stadium. Each stage will offer a wide array of electronic tastemakers from across the spectrum. 
For many of these acts, performing at HARD is one of many stops along their busy summer touring schedule. Known as the peak of festival season, these summertime events can find artists traveling across the world, and as such, require some crucial traveling items for maximum comfort.
We explored this year's lineup and asked five artists to share what their most essential items are for this summer's touring season. From headphones to street food, these are some of the must-haves from your favorite DJs.

New EDM: David Guetta, Afrojack, Armin van Buuren, Steve Aoki & More

David Guetta & Afrojack – Raving

ISOxo & Knock2 presents: ISOKNOCK – 4EVR
ISOKNOCK, the boundary-pushing duo composed of ISOxo and Knock2, have just released their surprise debut album, ‘4EVR’, an unexpected drop that exemplifies the pair’s fervent drive to redefine the next decade of dance music. ‘4EVR’ is an eight-track masterclass on radical, runaway imagination. The album sees ISOKNOCK flip electronic convention on its head, filtering thrashing trap beats, experimental production, and vintage dance-pop through a punk rock lens – a genre-defying approach that leads to a bracingly-original body of work.
Malóne & CJ Jeff ft. Ellivia – Missing (Back To You)
Malóne has joined forces with Greek artist CJ Jeff and talented vocalist Ellivia, on their new single ‘Missing (Back To You)’. Dropped on Spinnin’ Deep, this Afro House anthem reinvents the classic 1994 hit ‘Missing’ from English duo Everything But The Girl. The single brings an infectious house groove with crisp percussion into the mix, all coming together for a perfect dance number.
Dual Damage – Burning Down
Trailblazing the rawstyle genre, dynamic Dutch duo Dual Damage have taken the hard dance music scene by storm over the past year, and they continue to do so with ‘Burning Down’. A track that has been rigorously tested in duos sets over the past months with the response has been nothing short of explosive. Fans have been begging for its release, flooding Dual Damage‘s DMs with demands to drop this banger and they are finally doing so.

David Guetta and AFROJACK Release New Summer Anthem ‘Raving’

Industry veterans David Guetta and AFROJACK‘s latest collaboration, ‘Raving’ is out now. The duo has been teasing fans with snippets of the track throughout the summer, building immense excitement and anticipation for the full release.
Known for their chart-topping hits and influential partnership, Guetta and AFROJACK have been at the forefront of EDM for over a decade. Boiler Room Seoul Cancelled Following Safety Concerns

A Boiler Room event in Seoul was cancelled due to overcrowding and safety concerns.

Last Saturday’s party was shut down three hours earlier than scheduled as headliner Peggy Gou was taking the stage.
Fire services estimate that over 4000 tickets were sold for a venue with a capacity of only 2,000, The Korea Times reports.
Other publications, such as Hindustan Times and Korea JoongAng Daily, have suggested the amount of people in the venue was closer to 6,000. There were no casualties, but at least five attendees experienced breathing difficulties.

In a recent interview with Resident Advisor, Soichi Terada who was supposed to play the closing set claimed that he was unable to enter the venue.
In a statement posted to their Instagram Stories, Boiler Room refuted claims of the event being oversold. “Contrary to what has been reported, we sold to the capacity that was instructed by our partner in Seoul,” the statement read.
“At the time the event ended we were under capacity.” Boiler Room suggested that the actual reason for the closure was “crowd-flow issues,” and confirmed that all tickets will be refunded. “We’re reviewing our systems internally to make sure this doesn’t happen again.”
The party was part of Boiler Room’s world tour. The brand will host events in cities such as London, Stockholm, Ghent, Washington, D.C. and Los Angeles in the coming weeks.

EDMTunes Chats With Founder of Relentless Beats and EMW, Thomas Turner

After starting Relentless Beats in 1996, Thomas Turner has become the leading events organizer in Arizona, organizing the biggest festivals such as Decadence, Super Unnatural, Pheonix Lights just to name a few, and produces 400-500 shows a year. With other 20 years+ in the industry, he decided to take his expertise in the space to start East Meets West in January 2023 alongside partners Max Rosoff and Kevin Mitchell. And since then, they have been bringing bespoke experiences to the New York City dance music scene, hosting Anjunabeats at Pier 17, Tchami at Angel Orensanz Foundation, and Gareth Emery at the Kings Theater to name a few. More recently, Thomas and his company presented Chris Lake’s Black Book Takeover as a doubleheader at the Brooklyn Army Terminal which is an unique open air venue with a picturesque waterfront view where both nights had a stunning 9000+ in attendance. EMW continues to shake up the market with novel experiences for both artists and fans alike, with their most recent announcement being Brownie & Lemonades taking place at Under the K Bridge.
I had the opportunity to speak with Thomas during the weekend to hear his insights on running Relentless Beats, EMW, and the planning involved for the massive weekend with Chris Lake.

photo credits:: @jpeg_eric You founded Relentless Beats in 1996 with a focus on dance music. What were the biggest challenges you faced in turning that passion project into a dominant force in the electronic music industry?
Thomas: Early on, when I started doing dance music, it was very subculture. Back at that time, or early 2000’s, dance music was not mainstream yet and most college kids weren’t interested in dance music. So, it was very challenging to stick with the passion project of dance music, when it was a subculture up until 2006-2008, when the EDM boom really happened. And then for guys like me, who had been doing electronic music for 10 years, it was an opportunity to grow a company, hire employees, and expand because it had actually become a commodity that more people are interested in.
To follow up on that, how did the Arizona market affect the growth in your company?
Thomas: If you go back to the 90s, I was a DJ in Arizona, and I was playing with the likes of Richie Hawtin and Carl Cox at Pompeii in Tempe. As a DJ and contributor in that way, I learned a lot about the scene and industry. Then the club owner named Steve Kusher that I played for about five years moved on to start a company called Mindful for Magazine. He would move on, vacate the space and it gave an opportunity for me to become a promoter in my market unobstructed by politics. And I’ve been the main provider for electronic music ever since in Arizona, and over the past 10 years, spread our wings into various other markets, developed many music festivals and special events, and produce between 400-500 events a year now.
You started EMW Presents in January 2023. What were some of the steps that you had to take in order to start launching and promoting events in New York City?
Thomas: The team that I work with as partners on this project, are people that I’ve been peers with and friends with for a long time and there was a lot of conversations around some other entities that we might have partnered with or purchased here in New York. Those were exciting conversations and when it became clear that those things weren’t going to come to fruition, we still had a passion to start a company together. We saw an opportunity to work together and advertise each other in this business and so I had a chance to make a difference for those guys by creating a bridge for them. So I told them I was starting a company and bringing them on as partners which led to the start of East Meets West.
EMW seems to have a focus on using unconventional venues for dance music events. What initially drew you to this approach?
Thomas: This was an opportunity to do something from the start with all the experience that we have on the team from so many years of producing events. When I started my companies, we started those doing our absolute best, doing the best we knew how. But now we look through different lenses of experience, and we can do things the way we want. We’re looking for bespoke opportunities and venues to produce events that can identify us as a producer to watch, and a producer that can hopefully provide experiences that is at an elite level. That’s really the goal. So when you look at what we’re doing here, it’s a very expensive and unapproachable venue, typically. But we aim to change that and normalize something like this. A lot of the feedback that I’m getting in the market and artists is that they’re tremendously excited to do a show like this. Some of the phone calls we’ve had in the past couple days are the most important names in the game, and they want to play here, they want to do the show. So, the future looks really bright.
How do you go about securing these more unconventional locations as venues?
Thomas: We’ve worked with some of the city’s best lobbyists and if you’re new into the scene, you wouldn’t have the resources and you wouldn’t have the know how. Coming into this era of my career, it was part of the planning phase to hire lobbyists and to work with those people to help forge the right relationships with the right venues that might think that partnership with us is not conventional or doesn’t work. And through a lobbyist’s voice can say, you know what these guys are actually vetted and they would be good partner if you’re wanting to look at this and so that’s taken down some of the guard of some of the people that might have been harder to to get a relationship with sooner.
Can you tell us a little more about all the planning and steps it put on this weekend’s event at the Brooklyn Army Terminal?
Thomas: I’ve been promoting Chris Lake shows for about 20 years now, and I have a long extensive relationship with him, a very close relationship with his agency, his record label, his management, and produce a lot of great shows for Chris. So being in New York, and having this venue as something that I could pitch to him worked out. He wanted a new show and he wanted to have a bespoke experience for his fans. New York summer was a good time to interject something like this. Then having the venue willing to partner with me, and having the staff that I do to run events allowed me to say yes, in a time where it’s a little slower and hot in Phoenix and bring a lot of my staff out to execute an event perfectly.
In a recent interview with Pollstar, it’s mentioned that you feel NYC could do with some more competition in the dance space, how do you believe EMW Presents can contribute to a positive evolution of the scene?
Thomas: I believe that as a producer, you’ve got to go through your playbook and run all the shows that you have. But artists, managers, and agents are looking for something fresh, and something new to present their artist’s frame. And so I hope to be someone that can bring some different plays and some different looks. I’m not looking to dominate the market and be the only player. I think there’s a lot of great creatives in this market. I just want to be here and participate. I was looking for something a little bit more challenging at this point in my career, something that I could express my talents and all the experience that I have. In New York, at this transitionary time with everything in the market seemed like a good time to interject now that a lot of the main players that I respect and looked up to are not as active like they once were on the market. And so I stepped in during that time, so I could have the least friction with people being upset that I’m here because I’m here to make a positive difference.
Within the event promotion space, what advice would you give to aspiring entrepreneurs in the music industry?  
Thomas: You can accomplish anything that you set your mind to if you put the work in. If you are good to the people that you asked to help you and you continually stay loyal to them and build as one unit, that unit can accomplish so much. Some of the promoters I even see in today’s day and age, lack the people skills within their own internal organizations to push their companies forward and I think that’s really where it start. If your team doesn’t have your back and your team is not there to deliver for you, you will have a really tough time delivering on your own. I’ve got Relentless Beats as my backbone and it’s carrying over to EMW. At Relentless Beats, we’re all family. We’re a community. People don’t just leave. This is a special thing that we’ve got and we aim to do the same thing at EMW.

Thomas: I would like to apply all the knowledge that I have to the country music scene and create a festive party country music scene. I would like to build the classic rock scene because I grew up in that era and would love to be doing events with classic rock. Not as much of a market for that, but I thought about it my whole career., and so we will see.

In Conversation With Tape B

The future of dubstep is actually hip-hop — and Kemal Berk Alkanat, better known as Tape B, is leading the charge.
Known for flipping modern classics of hip-hop’s beloved “mixtape era” that defined the early 2010s (Mac Miller’s “Loud,” Wiz Khalifa’s “On My Level,” etc.), Tape B has become one of the hottest dubstep acts in North America.
But how did a kid from Istanbul make his way to the top of the charts, and make a track with Juicy J? By combining two of his favorite things: nostalgic hip-hop music, and old-school dubstep.
He has a clear vision for what he wants the Tape B project to be, and he chases that vision relentlessly. His fans love him for it; so much so that he recently sold out Denver’s Mission Ballroom in a matter of minutes. Not to mention a sold-out national tour in 2024, and millions of streams across Spotify and SoundCloud.
But SoundCloud is where Tape B thrives. It’s where he releases the vast majority of his music, which consists of flips, remixes, hour-long mixes that he calls “CarTunes,” and his own mixtape series, “Driptapes” and “Vibe Check.”
Because SoundCloud is where Tape B fell in love with music in the first place. It’s where many Millennials and Gen Z fell in love with music. And, in 2024, Tape B wants to remind us why. In this exclusive interview with UKF, the young star shares his origin story, his endearing connection to hip-hop’s mixtape era, his new track with Juicy J, and more. 
Your creative output is crazy. This year alone, you’ve already released two original tracks, two official remixes, Driptape Vol. 5 mixtape (with seven new flips) Vibe Check Vol. 2 (also with seven new flips), and the CarTunes Vol. 3 mix. How do you manage to release so much new music all the time? Is there a secret sauce to staying in the creative zone?
There’s not really any secret sauce — I just love this shit. All I can think about is making music. Whenever I’m not making music, like even when I’m playing video games or whatever, I find myself wishing I was making music instead. I make music when I’m on tour too, and that’s cool, but nothing beats the feeling of sitting in my room, in front of my studio speakers, making new music. That’s my main hobby, and I love that so many people are ready to listen to my music whenever I drop something new.
How much music do you make that never actually gets released?
Dude… so much. I probably make between 5-10 songs a week, but i doubt anyone will ever hear 8 of those songs. I know I’m going to share a new song if it makes me giggle while I’m making it. Because, at the end of the day, music is about having fun. If I’m not giggling and having a great time, what’s the point? I’ll just trash it and move on to a new song. I think that’s another reason I release so much music, because if an idea doesn’t work, I’m good at moving on. That’s a great skill to have!”
A big part of your catalog, and a part of what makes the Tape B project so special, is how you flip hip-hop tracks from the beloved ‘mixtape era’ that defined the early 2010s. Would you say the Tape B project is a byproduct of the mixtape era?
Definitely, 100%. When I moved to Florida from Turkey when I was three years old, my parents only listened to Turkish music. Obviously, none of my new friends in America listened to that, and they kinda looked at me funny because the music was so different. But when I got a computer in 5th grade, I discovered YouTube and Vivo. That’s where I first fell in love with hip-hop, thanks to artists like Lil Wayne, Akon, T-Pain, and Young Jeezy. Hip-hop has been my favorite thing to listen to ever since.
But when I started smoking weed in high school, that’s when I REALLY fell in love with it all. Those were the golden years of the mixtape era, when SoundCloud was at its absolute peak. You had Travis Scott’s Days Before Rodeo, Chance The Rapper’s Acid Rap, Flatbush Zombies’ Better Off Dead, and Black Hippy dropping hella tracks left and right. 
That era means so much to me. Honestly, whenever I think back to the happiest moments of my life, it’s really just smoking weed with my friends and listening to SoundCloud mixtapes while the hotbox fogged up our car. Literally, I couldn’t be happier than that.
Do you have a favorite mixtape of all time?
Days Before Rodeo by Travis Scott, for sure. I’ll never forget the first time I heard Travis Scott. Days Before Rodeo came across my SoundCloud one night when I was in highschool, and I clicked on it because the cover looked cool. But the music spoke to me — I stayed up all night listening to that mixtape over and over until the sun came up and I had to go to school. I was on such a high, I’ll never forget it. I was just thinking ‘There’s no way this exists.’ I was in awe the entire next day, too.
I think that’s why people resonate with my remixes and hip-hop stuff. Because there are a million people out there that have a story just like that, discovering their favorite mixtape for the first time and being blown away. It’s fun to be reminded of those times, you know?
So when did you discover EDM then? Was that also something you listened to growing up, or did you find that later?
I would say I got into electronic music around 8th grade. I loved Glitch Mob and that kind of EDM. It was very ethereal and sort of lo-fi, but still UKF vibes. Honestly, I didn’t really realize it was ‘electronic music’ at the time. I just knew it sounded cool.
But I actually discovered dubstep through anime music videos. I was super into anime, especially Dragon Ball Z and Naruto, and I would watch random YouTube videos of fight scenes from my favorite animes. At some point, they started incorporating dubstep in those videos. I went down a rabbit hole and eventually found all the UKF dubstep stuff, and the rest is history.
Oh, and Amazing Lights gloving videos. I thought that stuff was so cool.
All these years later, and you’ve managed to make a name for yourself by combining these two genres (EDM and dubstep) for some of the craziest tracks I’ve ever heard — including “Trippy Land,” your recent collaboration with Mersiv and Juicy J. How crazy is it you got to create a song with a legend like Juicy J?
It’s so insane! Honestly, it still doesn’t feel real. When we sent the track over to Juicy J, we didn’t think they were going to reply… but a few hours after we sent it, his team hit us back like ‘Juicy J likes the tune, we’ll get you vocals.’ The next week, we got the verse. Within the month, the track was out. It all happened so fast.
The whole time I was like ‘is this actually happening?’ The first time I heard Juicy J say ‘I’m rollin with the homies, Mersiv and Tape B,’ I thought I was dreaming. That dude is one of my idols. A top-five favorite rapper of all time for me.
What does the name ‘Tape B’ mean, and how did you land on that name for the project?
The name ‘Tape B’ actually goes way back for me. When I was in highschool, I drove a 2005 Volkswagen Passat, and the only way to use an aux cord was through a cassette tape. So, whenever I plugged in a cassette tape, the screen would light up and say ‘Tape B.’ 
I was hotboxing and freestyling with some friends one day and my homie was like ‘yo, you should be a rapper, and you should call yourself Tape B.’ I couldn’t really rap like that and it was kind of a joke, but I loved sharing music with my friends on SoundCloud, so I made my SoundCloud account Tape B. When I started producing music, it made sense to keep that name.
Still, it took a while for me to really figure out what the Tape B project was. The first day I started producing music, I asked myself ‘Who is Tape B? What does Tape B sound like?’ and for years, I never knew what the answer was. Then, one day in 2020, I came back home from a set I played in Tampa that just wasn’t good. I was so frustrated with myself, and I just started going through a bunch of old tunes on UKF’s YouTube channel. All of a sudden, it clicked. I though ‘I love these songs so much, why don’t I just make shit like this?’ 
That night, I made three remixes to Eyes On Fire, For The Kill, and Gold Dust. That was the moment I finally knew the answer. I Finally knew exactly who Tape B was.
I see the cassette tape in a lot of your branding — from your live visuals to your cover art. It’s funny, because in the intro to “Yo Tape B,” the narrator is talking about how people who were born after the cassette tape era still feel a connection to cassette tapes.
So, I gotta ask: why the cassette tape? Do cassette tapes hold any special place in your heart?
Not exactly — it’s more of the idea of what a cassette tape represents. Cassette tapes feel nostalgic. They represent a rewind in time, which is kind of what I’m aiming for with Tape B. A lot of the music I make and the songs I flip are nostalgic. Tape B is supposed to highlight an era of music that has kind of been forgotten about, but so many people have a connection to those tracks when they hear them. 
I love how you incorporate the cassette tape into your visuals, especially during your two-night run at the Ogden Theater last year. You’ll be doing another two-night run at Denver’s Mission Ballroom in November, which will be your biggest headline yet — plus, you sold out the first night in minutes! What should we expect from that show?
It’s going to be crazy — when I did the Ogden Theater last year, I didn’t think I could get any bigger than that. When I stepped off that stage, I thought “Are we done? Is this it? Did I finish EDM?” Now, less than a year later, we’re doing two nights at Mission Ballroom, and it’s like… woah. I guess we’re not done yet.
We’re going insane with production at Mission Ballroom. I want to throw the coolest show possible, and I’ll do whatever it takes to make that happen. I hope it’s the coolest show you’ve ever seen in there. Plus, the support is incredible — we’ve got Kill Safari and so many other sick legends and dope artists. I can’t wait.
What else can fans look forward to this year?
Dude… I’m sitting on way too much music right now. There’s a Ganja White Night collab in the works, and so many other collabs I don’t think I’m allowed to talk about yet. There are a few EPs I’m working on, but I don’t think I’m dropping an album any time soon. I know fans would love a Tape B album, but I think that’s something I need to put much more thought into. I want to work with a ton of musicians to craft my debut album, and it needs to be something really special.
You can’t rush these things — that’s one of the most valuable lessons I’ve learned in life. Because every time I rush something, I fuck it up somehow. Or I realize that it wasn’t the right time, and I ask myself ‘Why did I do that? It would have been so much better if I waited and took my time.’ I feel like that’s something life has been trying to teach me for a while, and I’m trying to listen. I’m not in any rush.

Research conducted by AlphaTheta (Pioneer DJ parent company) found that more than 77%* of club-goers see Ibiza as a must-visit destination for clubbers.
They also found out that over 63%* agree that nowhere else on Earth compares to the unique dance music culture found on the island.
But how did Ibiza transform from a 60s hippy hangout to the world’s no. 1 party zone? And with prices higher than ever – for everything from flights, hotels, club tickets, and drinks, to living costs for the island’s workers – can Ibiza stay true to its roots and offer a sustainable scene that’s open to all?
Or is the White Isle on course to become a luxury playground for only the richest party people? 
Covering different topics in “The Evolution of Ibiza,” there are producer/directors Dan Tait and Laurence Koe. They explored the impact of commercialization on this world-famous island. Insight comes from club promoters, locals, government officials, and DJs who’ve seen Ibiza evolve over several decades. You’ll see Carl Cox and Norman Cook, as well as artists such as Franky Wah and Chloe Caillet. With these new artists, there’s an interesting view of how they driving today’s scene without really having experienced what was before.
2022 and 2023 both saw extended summer seasons in Ibiza. Clubs, venues, and hotels sought to recoup the cost of Covid.
Over 80%* of respondents to AlphaTheta’s survey said that if money was no object, they would consider visiting Ibiza for a holiday in the future.
The question is: how long can it last? “The Evolution of Ibiza” seeks the answers.

Bridges For Music Returns For Its Annual Ade Cycle And Transformative Social Impact

Non-profit organisation and record label Bridges For Music will return to ADE with their annual 500 KM charity cycle this October, continuing to incite social change through the power of music. 

Finding continued kinship at Amsterdam’s yearly event celebrating the strength of dance music’s unique community, the ride has proven to be the most highly anticipated charity cycle in the music industry with past participants including Richie Hawtin, Parallelle, Maga, Joris Voorn, Chris Lienbing, Pan-Pot, Juliet Fox, Jamiee, and more. Last year’s cycle brought together over 50 riders from different 15 countries to raise over 70K towards Bridges For Music’s mission to provide for under-serviced youth in South Africa.
Powered by AlphaTheta and in partnership with ADE, all funds raised by the ride will help expand the capacity of Bridges’ programs by contributing to the construction of a new facility for younger kids in need. In addition, it will support the after-school program, which provides an essential space for children ages 8-18 to access creative education in music, dance and mindfulness.

This year’s cycle will introduce a fresh challenge with a slightly updated route from London to Amsterdam. The 4-stage ride departs Sunday 13th October from the Resident Advisor HQ in Shoreditch and arrives at ADE Wednesday 16th October and will take riders through the UK, Belgium and the Netherlands.
Jamie Kemp, Director of Toolroom Records summarises the impact of the cycle, “Simply put this is a life changing experience! I keep saying, I am not sure there is any other way I want to arrive at ADE…If you are thinking about doing it, just do it! You will be supported every km/mile/inch of the way.”
The ride will save approximately 175kg of CO2 emissions that would ordinarily be produced for each flight from London to Amsterdam. This means that for each of the 50 riders, at least 8,750 kilograms of CO2 emissions will be saved. In return for supporting the cause and travelling to ADE with less environmental impact, those participating in the ride will receive an ADE Pro Pass, three nights accommodation in with spa hotels along the route, tour guides and support, luggage transport, breakfast, lunch & dinner, energy snacks, and an official ADE jersey. Bikes can be returned to London in addition to a £1,500 entry fee paired with fundraising.

Those who are unable to commit to the full duration of the cycle are welcome to join halfway or for one stage of the cycle tour. No prior cycling experience is required to complete the ride and those who don’t own their own bike can arrange for a rental. Sponsored entries are also available for companies who wish to enlist a team and your team logo will appear on the special ADE riders kit and coverage across the cycle as a team sponsor
As always, the ride welcomes cyclists of various abilities and enthusiasm with participants organised into groups based on ability to cycle at around 30km/h avg, 26km/h avg, and 22 km/h avg with support vehicles, expert cycle guides, and more provided along the route. Demonstrating Bridges’ commitment to the highest level of safety and support, paramedics from the Tour De France were involved every step of the route last year with each group guided by professional cyclists with some on Team GB for the Olympics.

Jamie xx has reunited with The Avalanches to release a new single, "All You Children," 
The hypnotic club heater marks Jamie xx's fifth single of the year ahead of the release of his highly anticipated sophomore album, In Waves. Scheduled to release on September 20th, the 12-track project will arrive via Young and feature collaborations with Honey Dijon, Panda Bear, Robyn, Erykah Badu and his xx bandmates Romy and Oliver Sim, among others.

Sub Focus Drops First Solo Release of 2024, "Wildfire"

After months of incessant demands, Sub Focus has released the song that set Drumsheds on fire.
Out now is his first solo release of the year, "Wildfire," which finds him reuniting with Jo Hill following the release of their fan-favorite anthem "Ready to Fly." The new single follows the May release of Sub Focus' soaring collaboration with John Summit and Julia Church, "Go Back."

Fred again.. has announced a new album called ‘ten days’. It is slated for release on September 6th, with vinyl to follow on October 25th. Pre-orders are now available.
Speaking on the album, Fred says:
Fred again.. also jumped on Instagram explaining the album on his stories. He started saying the album was born last year.
He explains how the first tune they produced, ‘adore u’ was released immediately: “it was like the first day, if it makes sense” he adds. In the next day, they produced ‘ten’ and ‘places to be’.
In the following story, Fred explained how they sent some vinyl with the songs to some of the guys who ordered his song in the store, as a surprise.
Fred then remembers the time when he put together a song with Joy Anonymous just before the Sydney show.

Contributions to ‘ten days’ come from Obongjayar, Jozzy, Jim Legxacy, Sampha, SOAK, Anderson .PAAK, CHIKA, Duskus, Four Tet, Skrillex, Joy Anonymous, Emmy Lou Harris, The Japanese House, and Scott Hardkiss.
The release of ‘ten days’ follows surprise recent appearances at Strummerville during Glastonbury Festival. There Fred played a special 30-minute ambient set and at The Rising Sun pub in Pensford, Somerset, where he performed to 75 fans alongside The Japanese House earlier this month.
On Sunday, Fred also released a special Rooftop Sessions mix. It was recorded and filmed in front of close friends and family in London last summer.

Over 100k Invited to Class Action Lawsuit After "Invasive" Strip-Searches at Australian Music Festivals

Over 100,000 people have been invited to participate in a landmark class action lawsuit stemming from controversial strip-searches at various music festivals in New South Wales, Lawyers Weekly reports.
The suit was jointly filed in the Supreme Court of New South Wales back in July 2022 by Redfern Legal Centre and Slater and Gordon Lawyers, whose representatives are challenging the legality of strip-searches conducted by NSW law enforcement officers at various festivals between 2016 and 2022.
According to a press release issued at the time by Redfern Legal Centre, police carried out "unlawful acts including assault, battery and false imprisonment against festivalgoers while searching them for illicit substances," including minors. Some attendees, the firm said, alleged they were directed by officers "to lift or remove items of clothing, lift their breasts or genitals, or strip naked and squat and cough so officers could visually inspect body cavities."
The lawsuit's lead plaintiff, Raya Meredith, claimed she was subjected to an "invasive" strip-search by the NSW Police Force at the 2018 Splendour in the Grass music festival. The ordeal lasted roughly 30 minutes, she told Redfern Legal Centre.
"Our investigations show that invasive and unlawful police searches at NSW festivals have become routine, resulting in very few charges, but leaving thousands of young people and minors humiliated and severely traumatized," said Redfern's senior police accountability solicitor, Samantha Lee.
Legal representatives from the NSW government had unsuccessfully filed motions to dismiss the suit, citing insufficient common issues among those who were strip-searched, according to Australasian Lawyer.
"The police are supposed to be there to keep people safe. But I was left feeling I could no longer trust the police," said one attendee, Becca, per Slater and Gordon's website. "I felt I had no way of making a complaint about an experience which left me feeling violated."
"I was asked to take off my jacket and shirt and was patted down," explained another, Ben. "The officer also ran his thumb around the inside waistband of my underpants—his thumb was between my underpants and my skin. I just did what I was told at the time but thinking about it now makes me feel really uncomfortable."
The prosecuting firms have encouraged potential plaintiffs to register for the class action suit and gauge their eligibility via a group member guide. The trial is scheduled to begin on May 5th, 2025.
