Zedd Reveals New Collaboration With John Mayer, "Automatic Yes"

The hype around Telos, Zedd's first album in nearly a decade, is bubbling over after he revealed "Automatic Yes," an unexpected collaboration with John Mayer.
As Zedd breaks his album drought, the track stands as a testament to his unflinching willingness to explore new musical territories. In "Automatic Yes," he and Mayer craft a infectious blend of dance-pop and electro-soul. Oozing with bluesy introspection, the collaboration bridges the gap between packed clubs and lonely bedrooms as Mayer croons, "I don't have to tell you that I love you still."

The iconic musician is part of a compelling list of Telos features, which includes Zedd's "Middle" collaborators Grey and Irish folk group the olllam. The late great alt-rock singer and guitarist Jeff Buckley is also a credited feature, appearing on the track "Dream Brother," which samples his 1994 song of the same name.
It all points to a tour de force for the influential DJ and producer, who recently opened up about the album and its deeply personal bedrock.
"It’s the most I’ve been involved in absolutely every element of an album," he told Las Vegas Magazine. "Musically it’s very me, and I didn’t make any compromises... It was everything I wanted to do. Everything my soul really craved. The commercial success of the album was never really a thought when I was making this album."
"This is an album that is a concept album from front to back," he continued. "It's meant to be listened to in one piece. Most songs are connected except for somewhere I wanted there to be a break. It’s really a journey that I wanted to take people on. I wanted people to feel the way that I used to feel when I listened to music as a kid, [how it] just deeply inspired and changed me and educated me. I would love for the younger generation to get that same feeling that I used to get back in the day."

Bid on History: Avicii’s Personal Items Up for Auction to Benefit Mental Health

Avicii‘s lasting impact on both the music industry and mental health awareness will be recognized at a special charity auction on October 1, 2024. The auction, organised by Stockholms Auktionsverk, will include 267 personal items from the late DJ and producer, including as apparel, musical equipment, and career souvenirs. All of these offer fans a unique opportunity to engage with Avicii’s legacy in a tangible manner.
Each item in the auction has a narrative, whether it’s the instruments used to create his genre-defining songs or personal clothes that symbolises his distinct style. These objects not only symbolise crucial periods in his life, but also speak to the global public that has remained loyal to his music and message.
The proceeds from the auction will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation, which his family created in his honour. The foundation’s goal, which focusses on mental health awareness and suicide prevention, reflects Avicii‘s personal problems and desire to assist others suffering similar challenges. This auction not only commemorates his accomplishments, but also demonstrates his dedication to make a difference, ensuring that his legacy continues to positively touch people.
Supporters who participate in this auction will have the rare opportunity to own a piece of Avicii‘s history while also donating to a worthwhile cause. Each piece, whether an instrument that impacted his innovative music or personal memorabilia commemorating his journey, provides a physical link to his legacy. More crucially, the revenues will benefit the Tim Bergling Foundation‘s critical work in mental health awareness and suicide prevention, both of which were very important to Avicii.

Creamfields, the biggest electronic music festival in the UK is back, and with it, a massive 3 days live stream. Starting tomorrow, Creamfields will livestream three stages, including the brand-new Zenless Zone Zero stage, Eric Prydz, and more. But, how to watch the Creamfields 2024 live stream? Let’s find out.
In association with Beatport, Creamfields will bring the festival to fans’ living rooms for the official Rockstar Energy presents Creamfields 2024 Live stream broadcasting from Friday 23rd through to Sunday 25th of August.
Mark your calendar for Friday 23rd August at 16:00hrs (BST). The live stream will run all weekend long until Sunday 25th  August at 23:00hrs BST. Beatport will livestream sets from some of the biggest names in the world of dance music during the August Bank Holiday weekend.
Who will be live-streamed at Creamfileds 2024 and how to watch them?
First up is the ARC stage. It is one of the most impressive outdoor stages of Creamfields and it is also considered the main stage. It’s 100 meters wide and 15 meters tall. It will host sets from Alesso, Hardwell, Timmy Trumpet, Sam Divine, Eliza Rose, Example, MK, Belters Only plus more. Expect these artists to be live-streamed as well.
Second on the bill is the Steel Yard presented by Gopuff. With its 15.000 people capacity, it will host performances from the festival’s headlining techno and house music icons. The stage will host Eric Prydz who live streams from the festival for the first time. Other notable acts include Pete Tong, Ewan McVicar, Artbat, Eli Brown, Solomun B2B Patrick Topping, CAMELPHAT, Artbat, Kevin de Vries, Matrefakt plus more.
Is it finished yet? Of course not! Creamfields 2024 live stream will broadcast another stage. Zenless Zone Zero, a brand-new indoor 30,000-capacity stage makes its debut this year. This fresh and futuristic stage, is being hailed as ‘the world’s biggest indoor main stage’ by the festival. You can expect massive sets from the likes of FISHER, Cloonee, Sosa, Ben Hemsley, Armin Van Buuren, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Tiësto, Max Dean, Hannah Laing, Beauz plus more.

Released 11 Years Ago: Steve Aoki, Chris Lake & Tujamo – Boneless

2013 was a huge year for Steve Aoki as he would release a massive hit with Linkin Park, collaborate with R3hab, and release one of his greatest songs ever, ‘Boneless.’ Named after a skateboarding trick and simply aimed to be a fun club song, this song would go well beyond the expectations of the artists behind it and became one of biggest electronic tracks of the year.
Aoki collaborated with Chris Lake and Tujamo who were both building a name for themselves in the early 2010s and ‘Boneless’ helped massively in giving them their breakthrough. Even before it was released, people were loving the track as it had been leaked early on in 2013. Aoki recalls that when he started playing the song live people were already singing along with the melody because they had been listening to the leaked song for months already. Once ‘Boneless’ was officially released the hype was realised as it quickly became a huge club banger that everybody knew and would hit the charts in Germany, Austria, and Belgium. A year after its release the track would receive vocals from Kid Ink to create ‘Delirious (Boneless)’ which sparked even more success for the song.
The melody is one that is unforgettable with people still chanting along to it 11 years on from its release and crowds still bouncing every time they hear it. Amsterdam Dance Event Set To Kick off 2024 Edition With Four Official Opening Concerts

With two months left until ADE 2024, the Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE) presents an extraordinary lineup of one-off Opening Concerts on ADE Wednesday. The series offers unique and immersive experiences that embody the spirit of electronic music in unique locations including Van Gogh Museum, Door Open Space, Bimhuis and Melkweg. [Event Review] Paul van Dyk Fuses The Best Of Trance With The Power Of Techno Through VENTURE X

We caught up with the legend himself during one of his more recent shows in South America.
Paul van Dyk needs no introduction. Widely considered one of the pioneers of Electronic Dance music, it’s been 30 years since he released ‘For An Angel’, a record that would change Dance music forever and would set the bar for the tone of Trance tunes for years. A legendary figure, we were lucky enough to have a night under the spell of his hypnotising live sets, as he brought his groundbreaking VENTURE X show to Santiago, Chile.
VENTURE X
A fairly new “venture” of his, VENTURE X debuted last year, and it represents total freedom for the German pioneer. It is a concept literally marketed as simply playing what Paul thinks sounds best, and with a distinct flavour of Progressive, Trance and Techno. This way, he promises to bring attendees to a voyage with a clear departure harbour, yet an unknown destination.
With the vibes already through the roof, fans eagerly awaited the master’s arrival at the booth, and when he finally did at 1:30, he made sure to do so in style. Teasing iconic melodies every now and then and carefully weaving them with Peak-Time Techno beats from fellow teammates — and himself —, Paul’s two-hour-thirty set was, quite literally, a venture, and we were a part of it.
As the main act, van Dyk delivered a performance that exceeded expectations. The crowd was captivated by his seamless blend of classic tracks and new releases. Highlights included his timeless ‘For An Angel‘, his remix of the iconic ‘Café Del Mar‘, and his latest single, ‘Love Is Enough‘. To my delightful surprise, although we were at a VENTURE X show, he spun the SHINE Mix, a heavily Trance-focused record which I suspected would make me tear up when I reviewed it some weeks ago. And indeed did I shed a tear at the club.
Of course that moment in which he faded in ‘Love Is Enough’ is a core memory I cherish from the night, but another really wonderful moment I got to witness was: there was a lady upfront with a message printed on paper, it went along the lines of “I’m Paola, thank you and thank God for your music, you’d make my night if you played Café Del Mar’“. I’m not kidding, she held that sign up for an entire hour and thirty before Paul actually played the track. And the four minutes that succeeded live in my head rent-free. Just HOW HAPPY she was, she screamed and jumped all throughout the record, she thanked him, and she cried a bit too. That’s the power of music for you all.

Beyond his incredible music, van Dyk’s down-to-earth personality shone through. He took the time to interact with fans, posing for pictures and smiling throughout his two-and-a-half-hour set. His genuine enthusiasm and appreciation for his audience created a truly unforgettable experience. He’s grateful for them too, as you’ll read in our interview with him, coming soon. (Oops, did I spoil something?)
Well yes, we did sit down with Paul van Dyk himself and chatted about a handful of things. So I guess, now that I’ve mentioned it, a final core memory I’ll carry with me forever is having got to meet him. He, who introduced me to Trance back when I was playing Need For Speed Underground 2 as a six-year-old and his ‘Nothing But You’ was a part of the soundtrack, was right there, in front of me, and not anywhere else in the world.

Overall, Paul van Dyk’s VENTURE X concert in Santiago was a night to remember. His masterful performance, coupled with his approachable demeanour, made for a truly special event. And I believe, at least for me, what went down that night can be summarised with:

A Look Into BEONIX Festival

On September 20th over in the stunning landscape of Limassol, Cyprus, BEONIX festival will be kicking off three days of entrancing electronic music from some of the best DJ’s in the world. With the combination of Cyprus’ beautiful weather, amazing music from 50 different DJs, and the fantastic visuals from 3 unique stages it’s looking to all add up to be a must go festival.
The headlining acts alone are enough to get anyone excited with the first headliner being the legendary Fatboy Slim who will be bringing some of his new funky beats and iconic hits to get the crowd going right from the off. Day 2 will see ARTBAT headlining which is sure to be an amazing set as they have been knocking it out of the park with banger after banger all year. Closing the final day will be Tale of Us who will bring their unique sound to provide a euphoric end to what is sure to be an amazing weekend.
Something else to look forward to at BEONIX is their ‘9 Experiences’ concept which is extremely intriguing and exciting. The ‘9 Experiences’ concept is in reference to the idea that there are in fact 9 senses instead of the traditional 5 and the festival aims to engage all of those 9 senses. Through the power of music, the aim of the festival is to achieve unity between everyone there and create a truly immersive experience where you can forget the troubles of the outside world and live in the moment.

1991 Pays Tribute to Sounds of the Millennium with ‘Jungle’

At the turn of the century, dance music had a distinct sound that fused warehouse techno with sweeping trance riffs, creating an atmosphere that now conjures memories of glowsticks, green lasers, and parachute pants. Many artists today try to recapture that magic, but few succeed—until now. The UK’s 1991 has managed to blend the essence of the late ’90s and early 2000s with modern drum and bass in his nostalgic dancefloor anthem ‘Jungle’ featuring Alex Hosking.
Released on the Chaos/Polydor imprint, ‘Jungle’ has been a festival favorite this summer, thanks to its high energy and seamless crossover appeal. Alex Hosking’s vocals are pitch-perfect for big rooms, with lyrics that stick in your head like white on rice. A breakout artist in recent years, 1991 continues his streak of hits following ‘Cyclone,’ ‘Worlds Apart,’ and ‘Horizon.’ Just last week, he hosted an intimate pop-up party on a packed boat in London to celebrate the new single, with Alex Hosking performing alongside.
“‘Jungle’ has been a crucial part of my sets this year,” says 1991. “It started with an amazing vocal hook sent to me by my friend Alex Hosking, which I instantly knew would be perfect for an instrumental I was already working on. I was feeling inspired by the euphoria of trance from around the turn of the millennium and that formed the overall theme for the track.”
There must be an unwritten rule that all drum and bass artists must reference the word “jungle” in one of their tracks in order to cement their place in the genre. Over the years, dozens of DNB producers have used “jungle” in their songs as a tribute to a cultural movement that represents a significant chapter in UK dance music history. Jungle music is the precursor to drum and bass and combines elements of reggae, dancehall, and hip-hop with breakbeat rhythms, fast tempos, and heavy basslines. While drum and bass and jungle are distinct genres today, they still share many elements.

Simone Biles Shocked By $26,000 Champagne Price At Paris Nightclub

U.S. gymnastics champion Simone Biles recently shared an incident where a Paris nightclub attempted to charge her $26,000 for a bottle of champagne. This occurred after the closing ceremonies of the 2024 Paris Olympics, where Biles celebrated her success with her sister at a nightclub. In a TikTok video, Biles expressed her disbelief at the exorbitant price, stating, “Like, are you insane?“. She did not purchase the champagne and did not disclose the name of the club, although she had been seen at L’Arc nightclub in Paris during that time.
Biles, who won three gold medals and one silver at the Olympics, discussed her experience while applying makeup in the video, highlighting her preference for a more ordinary life away from the spotlight. The incident has triggered a wave of reactions on social media, with many expressing shock at the price. While those familiar with the nightlife scene are used to the steep markups for VIP tables and bottle service, even they acknowledge that $26,000 is an exceptionally high price, even for the most affluent crowd during the Olympics.
VIP Table Prices at Luxury Events
At upscale nightclubs like LIV in Miami, table service packages start at a minimum of $1,000 and can go up to $10,000 for prime locations. The cost of champagne itself ranges from approximately $150 for a standard bottle of Veuve Clicquot to around $495 for Dom Perignon. More exclusive options, such as Cristal or larger formats, can cost even more, with some magnums priced at over $1,000.
At EDC Las Vegas, VIP bottle service prices can vary greatly depending on the location and size of the table. The minimum spend for bottle service ranges from $5,000 for the cheapest table to as much as $150,000 for the best possible table and doesn’t include taxes, tips, and service fees.
The most expensive bottle of champagne ever sold in a nightclub was a six-liter magnum of Dom Pérignon Champagne Brut Luminous Phantom, which was sold for 50,000 euros at the Momento nightclub and restaurant in Marbella, Spain. This limited edition bottle is considered one of the most prized jewels in the venue’s cellar, with very few units produced worldwide.
