In the post-pandemic world, one innovative company saw an opportunity to connect people through the power of music and virtual reality. Soundscape, the premier musical metaverse experience, has created a stunning virtual realm that allows users to explore, perform, and attend concerts like never before.
As someone who had zero experience with VR gaming, I was initially intimidated by the setup process. However, once I donned my headset and entered the Soundscape universe, an unlimited number of possibilities opened as to what the future will be like when it comes to virtual reality and music.
Immersive Avatar Customization
One of the first things that struck me was the incredibly detailed avatar customization. Users can craft a digital representation that either mirrors their real-world appearance or embodies a completely fantastical persona. I spent considerable time meticulously designing my avatar, reveling in the ability to experiment with vibrant hair colors and unique features.
An Audio-Reactive Wonderland
Spanning a vast 20 square miles (about 51 kilometers), the Soundscape metaverse is a true auditory marvel. Every element of the environment, from the twinkling stars overhead to the pulsating mushrooms underfoot, reacts in perfect synchronicity with the music. This audio-reactive world creates an immersive experience that blurs the lines between the virtual and the tangible.
Interactive Musical Festivities
At the heart of Soundscape lies a celebration of music and artistic expression. Users can attend virtual festivals, explore mind-bending art installations, and even host their own celebratory gatherings with friends from around the globe. The ability to manipulate light cubes and shoot glowing projectiles adds an extra layer of interactivity and whimsy to the proceedings.
Intimate Artist Connections
One of the most exciting aspects of Soundscape is its seamless integration with renowned artists like deadmau5 and Evanescence. Users can attend archived concerts, experiencing the energy and passion of live performances from the comfort of their virtual realm. This intimate connection with beloved musicians is a testament to Soundscape’s commitment to fostering genuine artistic expression.
Accessibility and Privacy
Notably, Soundscape prioritizes accessibility and privacy in a refreshing departure from many modern games. With a one-time fee and no microtransactions or hidden costs, the metaverse is truly open to all. Additionally, the company’s policy of not tracking or selling user data ensures a secure and enjoyable experience.
Cutting-Edge Technology
What truly sets Soundscape apart is its cutting-edge technology. As the first major VR experience built natively on Unreal Engine 5, it offers state-of-the-art graphics and performance controls. The latest version also introduces upgrades like Soundskin avatar creation capabilities and the V4 release of Sonic AI, the platform’s audiovisual engine, enhancing the aesthetics and responsiveness across all worlds.
While Soundscape is still a work in progress, its current offerings are a tantalizing glimpse into the future of virtual reality entertainment. As the boundaries between the digital and physical worlds continue to blur, Soundscape stands as a shining example of how technology can bring people together through the universal language of music.

As the sun heats up and the days grow longer, Spotify has unveiled its much-anticipated ‘Songs of Summer’ predictions for 2024. This year, the global editors at Spotify have curated an electrifying mix of 30 tracks. These tracks showcase an exciting blend of superstar DJs and producers. Having said that, this set of predictions promises to keep our summer vibes alive.
A Broader Playlist with Big Names
Unlike last year, which saw a focus on mainstream Hip-Hop and Latino artists, 2024’s playlist embraces a more diverse musical landscape. Spotify has expanded its list to 30 tracks, up from 20, highlighting a significant inclusion of electronic dance music heavyweights. Among these, four standout names are turning heads: David Guetta, Kygo, Disclosure, and Marshmello.
Kygo and David Guetta Lead the Charge
Kicking off the list is Kygo with his smash hit ‘Whatever’ featuring Ava Max. This track has already amassed over 220 million streams, making it the most-played electronic dance music record on the playlist. Its infectious melody and catchy lyrics have made it a staple at summer parties and festivals worldwide. Right behind Kygo is David Guetta’s collaboration with OneRepublic, ‘I Don’t Wanna Wait’. With its 110 million streams, this track blends Guetta’s signature beats with OneRepublic’s powerful vocals. With that being said, the tune creates an anthemic sound perfect for those sunny beach days.
Disclosure and Marshmello Round Out the Contenders
Disclosure is making waves with their latest track ‘She’s Gone, Dance On’. Since its release, the song has quickly gained popularity. Additionally, the duo recently performed it live at Parklife 2024, and its energetic beats have been a hit at festivals, propelling it as a strong contender for the summer anthem. Meanwhile, Marshmello’s collaboration with Kane Brown, ‘Miles On It’, continues to resonate with fans. This track marks Marshmello’s standout release of the year, blending his EDM style with Kane Brown’s country flair, making it a unique addition to this year’s summer playlist.
Conclusion
Spotify’s ‘Songs of Summer’ predictions for 2024 offer an eclectic mix of genres and artists, ensuring there’s something for everyone. With tracks from Kygo, David Guetta, Disclosure, and Marshmello leading the pack, this summer is set to be one of the most memorable yet. So, whether you’re lounging by the pool, hitting the beach, or dancing at a festival, make sure to check out Spotify’s playlist and let the music elevate your summer experience. We’ve been on our knees for three long years, but we have said our prayers and they listened. Iconic Indie Electronic Band RÜFÜS DU SOL took it upon social media to announce their forthcoming single ‘Music is Better‘. The track begins the new cycle for the Rose Avenue Label leads, as we gear towards their fifth studio album. June 21st can’t come soon enough.
Music Is Definitely Better
After Residencies in Vegas and lots of tears while ‘Innerbloom‘ plays, tons of fans have been waiting for new music from the Grammy-winning band. Well, yes, they have been teasing us with studio snippets in the last few months, and they have fed us good sets like Coachella and Tulum. However, we are all extremely anxious, awaiting for their diaphonous soundscapes. ‘Music is Better’ will be RÜFÜS DU SOL’s first single in this new era, culminating the wait with a Portola performance later in September.
This means we have a few more months to treat each other better, and hold our breaths underwater as long as we can. The Surrender Remix album could only hold us so long, and ‘Miracle’ Remix with Adriatique and WHOMADEWHO from last year gave us the extra push we needed. Now, there’s no place we’d rather be, than here.
If you’re as obssesed as we are check their socials so you can be the first one to hear the new track.

It really can’t get more serene than this. As we continue festival season with hard sounds and increased bpms, sometimes it’s nice to breathe and decompress, so we can rage harder. Sultan + Shepard & Elderbrook’s ‘I’ll Be Here’ (Le Youth Remix) is that precise fresh air that revitalizes you. What else can we expect from Lane 8‘s ethereal This Never Happened label, other than four melodic daddies caressing our eardrums.
I’ll Be Here, Always
Sultan + Shepard have had an incredible run with their 2024 album Endless, Dawn. The original ‘I’ll Be Here’ with Elderbrook delivers the magic of unconditional love. A bittersweet romance that may weigh on you at times but you continue to show support and devotion to that being. Los Angeles native DJ Le Youth spins his own rendition of the track. While adding a deeper bass and unique reverbs, the essence of the song is channeled through the melodies. As a result, you have an incredibly emotional song that we can all relate to one way or another. Knowing that these DJs are great friends and they support each other’s music consistently adds more depth to the craft needed to make music. The artistic connection these individuals have with each other is truly remarkable.
More of Le Youth
Le Youth isn’t just a name in dance music, he’s a driving force. With a staggering 350 million streams across his releases and remixes, he’s graced some of the genre’s most revered labels – Lane 8’s This Never Happened, Anjunabeats, Armada Electronic Elements, and countless others. Each track is a testament to his relentless pursuit of innovation, pushing boundaries and shaping the future of the sound.
Inspired by the melodic depths of Lane 8, Ben Böhmer, Sasha, and Eric Prydz, Le Youth crafts music that transcends the setting. Whether it’s a cozy night in or a euphoric dance floor, his music finds a way to connect. Fueled by a recent exploration of vintage studio gear and synthesizers, he’s rediscovering the raw energy of analog sounds. This, coupled with his fearless experimentation, has led him to forge a sound that’s both distinctly his own and utterly captivating. Le Youth isn’t just making music – he’s creating experiences, and inspiring a generation of music lovers along the way. (source)
More of Sultan + Shepard
A serendipitous meeting in the twilight realm of a Montreal after-hours club in 2002 sparked a musical connection as luminous as a neon dream. Ossama Al Sarraf and Ned Shepard, their creative souls intertwined, embarked on a journey of sonic alchemy. Original compositions and ethereal remixes swirled into existence, their first song finding a sanctuary on John Digweed’s revered Bedrock label.
The world became their stage, a nomadic symphony traversing the hallowed grounds of Tomorrowland, Ultra, and EDC. Recognition from their peers arrived like celestial blessings – a Grammy nomination for Best Remixed Recording (Bruno Mars’ ‘Locked Out Of Heaven‘) and two Juno Award nominations for Best Dance Recording.
A return to their roots, a melodic house and progressive renaissance, unfolded. Lane 8’s This Never Happened became their new haven, and Dialekt Radio, a platform for their sonic explorations, was born. Singles and EPs materialized, collaborations with kindred spirits like Jon Hopkins, Angela McCluskey, Shallou, and Le Youth blooming like vibrant wildflowers. (source)
More of Elderbrook
A live phenomenon with a heart full of melody, he pours his soul into every note. This multi-talented artist – a master of instruments, production, singing, and songwriting – crafts music that resonates with a gentle touch.
His songs explore the tender themes of self-discovery, finding peace within, and the joys of parenthood. With over 1.5 billion people captivated by his sound, Elderbrook’s music has garnered Grammy and Ivor Novello nominations. He’s shared the stage with incredible artists like Jungle, Rüfüs Du Sol, and Odesza, and collaborated with musical luminaries like Camelphat, Diplo, Bob Moses, and Black Coffee.
But what truly sets him apart is his adventurous spirit. Elderbrook isn’t afraid to explore different musical landscapes, a testament to his ever-evolving creativity. He’s a forward-thinking talent, confident in his voice, and always seeking to connect with listeners on a deeper level. So, if you’re looking for music that uplifts, inspires, and speaks to the heart, look no further than Elderbrook. (source)

The man behind some of the biggest Pop icons of the last years is moving on from his defining journey.
Music manager Scooter Braun, the mastermind behind superstars like Justin Bieber and Ariana Grande, announced his retirement from artist management today. This marks the end of a remarkable 23-year run where Braun played a pivotal role in shaping the careers of some of the 21st Century’s biggest pop icons.
In a heartfelt statement released on social media, Braun reflected on his journey, describing it as a “Forrest Gump-like life” filled with incredible experiences. He expressed his gratitude for witnessing and contributing to the success of some of the most talented artists in the world. However, Braun also acknowledged a growing desire to shift his focus.
“It’s a strange feeling“, Braun admitted. “While I think I’ve wanted this for a while, there was a fear of asking ‘who would I be without them?’” He noted starting his career at a young age, dedicating himself to the demanding role of an artist manager for over two decades. While initially fulfilling, Braun ultimately decided to prioritize his family life.
This next chapter will see Braun step into a more prominent role at HYBE America, the company he joined after HYBE’s acquisition of Ithaca Holdings in 2021. Ithaca encompasses both of his firms — SB Projects, Braun’s former management company, and Big Machine Music Group, focused on country music. He expressed his confidence in Allison Kaye and Jennifer McDaniels, who will take over the leadership of the former. He praised them as “two incredibly powerful women” bound to lead the company into a new era, potentially becoming the industry’s “most impressive women-led management business“.
Read Braun’s statement in full below. We wish him the best in this next chapter.

GT_Ofice is back with "Ecstasy," an evocative dance anthem that captures the euphoric rush of intense infatuation.

When Fred again.. announced his first-ever stadium show, everyone knew he would deliver a blissful barrage of summer moments to share with friends. But few could have expected such a massive success, even by the British superstar's lofty standards.
Friday's event at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum was proof of just how much his fans have grown to love him too. Despite the fanfare of his debut stadium gig—and an almost sold out one at that—it was packed with intimate moments.
Fred again.. performing at the Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum on June 14th, 2024.Eric Dew
Under the Memorial Coliseum's lights and plumes of mythic smoke, Fred appeared and reappeared in different locations throughout the arena. Throughout the evening's countless "one-time at Fred again.." moments, more than 100,000 people were whisked away by his pensive sound.
He even suddenly materialized in the stands to serenade attendees up-close in the cheap seats, like when he and Obongjayar performed their fan-favorite collaboration "adore u."
Some, however, got a little too excited. Near the end of the evening, a torrent of fans found their way onto an elevated catwalk that lined the inside circumference of the stadium. Floorboards cracked under the weight of so many while Fred geared up for a firework-laden climax.
Seeing the danger present, the venue's safety crew sprung into action and brought the show to a sudden stop. A buzzkill for sure, but it may have saved more than a few lives as the catwalk, which clearly was not designed to hold so many, was visibly collapsing away from its scaffolding when the smoke cleared. Today marks the 11th anniversary of the release of Avicii‘s iconic song ‘Wake Me Up’ . When the Swedish-born DJ and Producer, already renowned for his timeless classic ‘Levels’, first played this song, it became evident that ‘Wake Me Up’ would transcend boundaries and unite people worldwide.
“‘Wake Me Up’ seamlessly blends uplifting beats with heart-rending lyrics that evoke strong emotions. For many, such as millennials, this song was a coming-of-age one, marking the next step in life: adulthood. The song was released during a time where many individuals like myself were embarking on new journeys, be it entering university or the workforce. But, what became apparent is that this wholesome song by Aviici became impossible to escape following its release on June 18th, 2013.
It dominated clubs, radio stations and festivals. On August 21, 2024, ‘Wake Me Up’ surpassed 2 billion streams on Spotify. It also became loved globally, topping charts in more than 20 countries and became recognized as the highest-performing dance single in history with over 10 million certified copies sold. If this isn’t an indication of the song’s extensive and enduring popularity across various platforms, then what is?
Produced by Avicii for his debut album “True,” released on June 17, 2013, ‘Wake Me Up’ was co-written by Avicii, Mike Einziger of Incubus, and American soul singer Aloe Blacc, who also provided the vocals. The song’s unique fusion of EDM with folk and soul elements set it apart, showcasing Avicii‘s innovative approach to music production. Colleagues and collaborators often remarked on Avicii‘s clear vision and determination. When he set his mind to a project, it was a moment of certainty, much like the creation of ‘Wake Me Up’ .
“So wake me up when it’s all over, when I’m wiser and I’m older” resonates deeply, as it captures not just the essence of hope and youthful passion but also perfectly describes the movement of time. Most of us are older and wiser now, so listening to Avicii’s track is bound to invoke feelings of nostalgia and deja vu. For me, it makes me reminisce about my youthful days of going out on a Friday night with friends, and just letting ourselves be swayed by the love for music and dance. This line in itself is one that reflects the universal desire to grow and learn through life’s experiences.
This track not only solidified Avicii‘s status as a musical genius but also became a timeless anthem for generations to come. So honor Avicii‘s legacy by turning up ‘Wake Me Up’ and reliving the magic of those unforgettable days!

Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, and Gabry Ponte teamed up to take on a bold project–putting an electronic spin on Eminem’s iconic hit “Mockingbird” from 2005. While remaking an Eminem track is never something to take lightly, the artists leveraged their collective 30+ years in production to craft a version that pays homage to the original and carves out its unique identity. The massive remix has been a highly anticipated release since Tiësto dropped it in his main stage set at Miami’s Ultra Music Festival back in March.
Opening with a chirpy xylophone solo, “Mockingbird” ups the ante with heart-pounding four-on-the-floor bass combined with hardstyle-influenced synths that make for an absolute dance floor heater. The distinct and nostalgic sound has seen a resurgence recently, with “Mockingbird” serving as a perfect follow-up to Tiësto, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Dido, and W&W’s “Thank You (Not So Bad)” from back in December.
