Watch Fred again.. and The Japanese House Take Over London Pub for Secret Set

Imagine walking into your local pub to grab a pint, but instead of encountering the grizzled bartender who consoles (and overserves) you after every breakup, you see Fred again.. tickling the keys.
Just a few short weeks after performing Glastonbury, the chart-topping electronic music superstar played the role of busker over the weekend after showing up to a British pub to perform a secretive set alongside The Japanese House. The intimate performance went down on July 12th at The Rising Sun, a pub in the heart of Brixton's Pensford village.
The nom de plume of celebrated indie artist Amber Bain, The Japanese House is renowned for her androgynous dream-pop sound. Her aching voice proved the perfect match for the tender keyboard work of Fred, with whom she performed remixed renditions of her tracks "Sunshine Baby" and "Chewing Cotton Wool," among other unreleased songs.
"Amber's voice is so magical I couldn’t stop smiling," he later wrote in an Instagram Story.

This Festival Will Play EDM For Sperm & Eggs in an IVF Clinic

In collaboration alongside Swedish audiovisual artist and designer Love Hultén, the Way Out West Festival had just introduced a unique ‘IVF stage’. This stage is unique in which the attendees are sperm and eggs at the Eliva IVF clinic in Stockholm. The official name of this stage from the Way Out West Festival is the ‘Future Fan Stage’ and according to an article from MusicTech, the festival organizers stated, “To stay relevant, new fans are crucial. New generations of fans are vital for keeping both artists and music festivals alive and kicking”. The official website of the festival then added, “This year, we’ve added an additional stage to help create future fans of great music by ‘injecting’ live recordings by the headlining artists into their DNA at the earliest stage possible – before they even develop into fetuses”.
It’s basically an innovative way to inspire a new generation of music fans to enjoy the same tunes that those that came before them have loved in years past. Someday, the future human beings that will arrive on this planet will get to experience the same tunes that they enjoyed before their bodies fully formed, at a live music festival stage.

The Way Out West Festival, which also bases itself in Sweden, launching the ‘Future Fan Stage’ at the Eliva IVF clinic has research data to back up its mission as well. According to Spanish scientific research institution Institut Marquès, musical vibrations increase the fertilization cycles of IVF cycles by 5%. The scientific researchers at the institution then analyzed 985 in-vitro fertilised eggs from 114 patients. The researchers then randomly divided the eggs into two groups. Afterwards, the researchers then cultured the eggs in two different incubators: one provided with a loudspeaker system and the other in a conventional incubator. Later, the results show that those grown with music had statistically higher fertilization rate, increased by 4.8%.

Back in September, we published a list of DJs who simply must perform at the $2.3 billion Vegas Sphere. It seems one of them, Anyma, will soon become the first.
The superstar DJ and producer, who also co-founded the beloved Afterlife brand, today took to social media to share a teaser of a performance at the Sphere on December 31st, 2024. In it, he stares down a humanoid robot as he stands in a barren desert with a structure that resembles the colossal Sphere in the distance.
The post is captioned, "THE END OF GENESYS," a reference to Anyma's brand and tour of the same name. His stunning debut album, which released in March, also shares the name.
Anyma and his Afterlife brand have become the electronic music community's touchstone for melodic techno. Its haunting, cerebral approach to the genre has effectively reinvented it for today's generation, transforming it into a dazzling—and oftentimes chilling—live music experience. Anyma's esteemed Visual Director, Alessio De Vecchi, was named EDM.com's best visual artist of 2023.

Coldplay are well known as one of the biggest bands in the world and in 2014 were on the top of their game in the lead up to the release of their sixth studio album ‘Ghost Stories’ which would feature the beautifully emotional track ‘A Sky Full of Stars’‘ that was co-produced by Avicii. But a couple months later the track would get an entirely new spin on it from the big room house legend Hardwell who would inject his high energy style into it in emphatic fashion.

“I met Irad (ALRT) when I first moved out to LA and was writing and producing new material.”, Sam Silver explains. “One night, we were both at Gravity Studio in West Hollywood, where I had just started working. We instantly connected, and this was the first of many records we produced together over the past three months. We became obsessed with blending the chill, upbeat jazzy vibe of the Rhodes electric piano with pretty pluck sounds. We found a captivating sample to bring in right before the drop. Once the track was done, I added a vocal from an unreleased rap song I had cut back in NY with my good friend Michael. It took the song to another level. I always love putting the pieces together in the production process. My personal belief is that Michael made the record pop because his voice and the message of the lyrics really are cohesive.”
ALRT shares: “I remember when we just started this track, I immediately had a good feeling about it. It’s a fun, feel-good track with a lot of attitude. It works for festivals and clubs, but you can also just rock it in the car.”
“I’m honored to be a part of this song. I honestly think it’s just a fun song about being better and doing better despite whatever obstacles are in front of you.”, says Michael Artistotle. “I don’t expect everyone to get that off rip because it’s a fun song you can dance to, where you may not pay attention to the lyrics, but I’m saying some real stuff on there. That’s also why I think this song is dope all around. It’s energetic and moves any issue to the back of your mind.”
Leap 96, the brainchild of Sam Silver and ALRT, draws inspiration from the vibrant late ’90s and early 2000s rave scene, where garage and drum and bass first took hold. This collaborative project merges vocal-driven dance music that fits seamlessly into both uptempo and downtempo settings, offering a nostalgic yet fresh sonic experience.
The name Leap 96 holds special significance, representing the middle year between Sam and ALRT’s birthdays and marking a leap year. This period symbolizes the fusion of their unique musical journeys: ALRT, rooted in the prosperous old-school rave scene, and Sam, emerging from the new-age garage, rap, and ethereal house movements.
Their music marries elements of garage, rap, and drum and bass with an indie pop sensibility. This collaboration brings a perfect contemporary edge to dance music, appealing to a wide array of listeners.
Sam Silver and ALRT’s partnership began serendipitously in a Hollywood studio, co-founded by ALRT and renowned artist/producer JOYRYDE. What started as a casual co-writing session quickly evolved into an intense two-month co-production period, resulting in four powerful tracks for their upcoming EP and numerous works in progress.

PAIN Unveils Massive Remix Pack For Album ‘I Am’

Released back in May, PAIN‘s 10th studio album ‘I Am’ has been incredibly well received by both fans a critics alike. Containing 11 singles, each just as good as the other, the album was yet another fantastic addition to the ever-growing catalog of PAIN. Now, taking it to the next level, the Swedish artist is thrilled to announce the release of the highly anticipated remix pack via the Wool Music imprint.
This album is a comprehensive concept album spanning a number of alternative electronic genres, from drum and bass to industrial. It features six innovative remixes along with a special remake of PAIN’s hit ‘Shut Your Mouth’ by festival headliner Vion Konger as a bonus track. This release marks the culmination of a successful 10-month release cycle for the new PAIN album.
First up on this remix album, we’ve got Harddope putting their touches on ‘Go With The Flow’. This duo turns the single into a vibrant, fast-tempo, G House/Slap House remix, infusing a dark atmosphere with heavy synths and dancing grooves. Next up we have Zardonic & Levia showcasing their signature sound with a bright, fierce, and super-fast Drum & Bass remix. This is followed by the Infraction remix of the title track ‘I Am’. Infraction combines elements of the original with a stylish, rhythmic dubstep arrangement. And last but certainly not least we’ve got Vion Konger who breathes new life into the massive hit of ‘Shut Your Mouth’ with a new remake, expertly utilizing the original along with his own elements.
The ‘I Am (Remixes)’ album stands out for its diversity and creative unity. Featuring artists from various countries and backgrounds, including the talented Levia, the album represents a fusion of different genres and ideas, from Metal and Drum & Bass to G House. This conceptual and complete project is produced by Wool Music.

San Diego-born producers Cheyenne Giles and Ookay have reunited to release "My Mind," out now under Steve Aoki's Dim Mak banner.
Following the success of their last collaboration "For Life," this bass house banger skillfully balances thick basslines with anthemic synths, making it ideal for both sweaty nightclubs and major festivals alike.
"My Mind" features a bouncy beat propelled by a pumping bassline and rowdy synths. Driven by an infectious vocal, it's a track that's sure to keep listeners moving and grooving through the summer of 2024 and beyond.

Wiwek Whistles Back With Explosive New Single, "Remedy"

In true spirit of the jungle terror movement he defined, Wiwek's latest offering is a potent concoction of heart-racing kicks and frenetic synth design. Notably, the "Killa" producer is making his triumphant return to Hardwell’s Revealed Recordings after a nine-year break in the action.
