RÜFÜS DU SOL Unveils Superb Remix Pack of ‘Music Is Better’

This past Friday, Grammy-winning live electronic trio RÜFÜS DU SOL have shared the official remix package for their new single ‘Music is Better’. The remix package contains three fantastic versions of the track; the original track, the Club Edit, and the remix from Belgian producer/DJ Maxi Meraki. RÜFÜS DU SOL dropped the remix package of ‘Music Is Better’ via Rose Avenue/Warner Records and this exciting remix package follows up some phenomenal remixes that the trio have seen their fellow producers have produced of their other great tracks lately. In fact, some of those producers include the likes of Solomun, Adriatique, Anyma, Adam Port, Carlita and more.
Click ‘Play’ on the Spotify link to stream the remix package below, in which the remix from Maxi Meraki is very innovative in which it is a seven-minute wonder track of crescendoing synths and driving bass lines that one will be in awe over and over. Additionally, for anyone who wants to go see RÜFÜS DU SOL perform live this year, the only time they can get to do that would be at San Francisco’s must-see techno and house festival extravaganza, Portola Festival, on September 28th. Their expected performance at Portola Festivals comes after they successfully hosted their one-of-a-kind boutique festival last year, Sundream Festival.

Axwell plays a ton of new music during Ultra Europe

The crowd roared as Axwell took the Mainstage at Ultra Europe 2024. Croatia’s night sky lit up. Bass pulsed through the air.
The first beat dropped. “The Power” remix shook the ground. Bodies moved instantly.
IDs peppered the set from the start. New sounds thrilled the crowd. Each unfamiliar melody sparked whispers. What was this? When can we hear it again?
“Barricade” hit hard. The crowd roared. “More Than You Know” united voices. Thousands sang as one. Goosebumps spread like wildfire.
Classics got fresh twists. “Antidote” felt reborn. The 2022 rework hit differently. Old fans cheered. New fans discovered gold.
A Brooklyn-themed ID surprised all. Travis Scott’s voice floated over. “Goosebumps” indeed. The mashup with “Kernkraft 400” was genius. Pure electricity.
Swedish House Mafia tracks dominated, of course. “It Gets Better” lived up to its name. The crowd’s energy surged. “Miami 2 Ibiza” transported us. We were no longer in Croatia. We were everywhere.

YouTube Music Introduces Sound Search Through Humming & Singing

YouTube Music has rolled out an innovative component that is sure to cause ripples! The new feature allows users to search for songs in the most convenient of ways. These include humming, singing or playing a tune that could be straightaway fed into the app for recognition. It comes into existence after about a year of testing.

Available through a waveform icon in the search bar, the sound search feature accesses the streaming giant’s database of over 100 million official songs. It then attempts to implement a precise result depending on the input. YouTube Music is also experimenting with AI-backed conversational radio. This new aspect grants users to conceive custom radio stations basis of a verbal description of their musical choices.


These new set of features are chunks of an extensive set of improvements YouTube Music has introduced recently. It has launched an experimental feature in October that allows users to create a personalized playlist utilizing artificial intelligence. The Samples tab providing a customized stream of small song snippets was already launched less than a year ago.

The sound search feature is available to the streaming provider’s subscribers on both iOS and Android.

Joseph Julien
Hailing from Canada, Joseph Julien turned to Electronic music over a decade ago, as part of the duo Danzfolk. He’s been supported by acts such as Gareth Emery, Above & Beyond, Armin van Buuren, and many more. With the launch of his imprint, KRE-81 RECORDS, Julien founded a safe place to release music with his own artworks, media, and more, all independently. The label recently surpassed the 100,000 stream mark, quite the deal.
And one of the most recent tracks released via KRE-81 is one of his very own productions, ‘ORIGINS’, a lovely Melodic Techno / Breakbeat hybrid which features the vocals of talented Montreal singer, DIA.

Wynn Nightlife Partners With Breakaway Music Festival

Listen to a Preview of Four Tet's Long-Awaited Collaboration With Ellie Goulding

Four Tet has returned to the studio with Skrillex, Ellie Goulding, Fred again.. and more for new music on the horizon.
The prolific electronic music producer this week shared demos of five unreleased tracks just a matter of months after dropping Three, his 12th studio album. While each preview is brief, fans can still get an idea of what to expect from Four Tet, who is revered for his ability to oscillate between genres with ease.
The first of the five has the working title "Eye" and features a hyperactive beat that gives way to wobbly bass toward the clip's end. The second track will satisfy fans of Tet's 2020 release Sixteen Oceans, considering it's a brand-new collaboration with Ellie Goulding in a similar vein to their track "Baby" from that album.
The third demo sees him assume his KH alias (the initials of his full name, Kieran Hebden), for an uplifting, vocal-driven offering with the working title "Still Falling." Fans holding their breath for a reunion with Hebden's Coachella 2023 collaborators, Fred again.. and Skrillex, will be excited to check out the fourth demo, titled "Human Voice PHM version."
The fifth and final demo is the most mysterious, as Four Tet shared a screenshot of the title so zoomed out that it's impossible to decipher amidst the track's eerie keys and creeping wind instruments.
Four Tet has not announced the release date of any of the demos at the time of this writing. Take a listen below.

Skrillex Takeover to Transform Lollapalooza's Iconic Perry's Stage to "Sonny's Stage"

Skrillex has transcended from a humble headliner to having an entire stage named in his honor at Lollapalooza.
While the schedule and lineup for next month's festival in Chicago were known for some time now, fans were left wondering when Skrillex would take the stage. The Saturday schedule for Lollapalooza's iconic Perry's Stage was left blank with "?" in its place from open to close.
Rumors quickly spread across social media that Skrillex was somehow involved, considering the lineup poster had him uniquely positioned compared to the other headliners and he was nowhere to be found on the schedule. Now, organizers have shared that Perry's Stage will transform into "Sonny's Stage" for a special curated takeover by the dubstep icon.
Skrillex will headline the night after performances by Ahadadream, Manara, 2hollis, Dylan Brady, Kenny Beats, Nia Archives and his Coachella 2023 collaborator, Four Tet. 
It's unclear at this time whether or not Skrillex will appear during those performances, but it's a safe bet. Check out the complete schedule for Lollapalooza's third day featuring "Sonny's Stage" below.

NASA Broadcasts First Hip-Hop Song to Space

In a landmark event for both music and science, NASA’s Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) has successfully transmitted Missy Elliott’s groundbreaking 1997 single ‘The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)’ into the Milky Way galaxy.
Aimed at Venus, a celestial body long admired by the artist according to official statements, the song embarked on its interstellar voyage on July 12th via NASA’s Deep Space Network (DSN). Traveling at the speed of light, it reached its destination – a staggering 254 million kilometers distant – in just 14 minutes.
“I still can’t believe I’m going out of this world with NASA through the Deep Space Network when ‘The Rain (Supa Dupa Fly)’ becomes the first ever hip-hop song to transmit to space!” Elliott said in a press statement. “I chose Venus because it symbolizes strength, beauty and empowerment, and I am so humbled to have the opportunity to share my art and my message with the universe!”
This historic transmission transcends mere entertainment. As stated by NASA communications director Brittany Brown, it signifies a unique convergence of artistic expression and scientific exploration, two disciplines renowned for pushing boundaries. Brown further emphasized Elliott’s longstanding affinity for space, citing the prevalence of space-age themes and futuristic visuals within her music videos.
This marks only the second instance of NASA transmitting a song into deep space. In 2008, The Beatles’ ‘Across the Universe’ embarked on a similar journey, aimed at Polaris, the North Star. Now time will tell on when an edm song will be beamed across space.

Fares to other locations may differ. Visitors are advised to confirm prices with drivers before starting their journey.
Taxi Regulations and Designated Zones

Designated Areas: Taxis can only pick up, drop off, or park in specific taxi zones and ‘kiss & ride’ areas.
