Creamfields, one of the world’s most iconic Electronic music festivals, is setting a new standard for environmental responsibility with the launch of Cleanfields. As the festival gears up to welcome thousands of ravers to its expansive 600-acre site in the UK August 22-25, it’s also paving the way for a greener future.
The ambitious plan reflects a deep commitment to reducing the environmental footprint of Creamfields and ensuring that the festival site remains pristine. To bring this vision to life, Creamfields has partnered with sustainability impact agency betternotstop. This collaboration promises to inject expert insights and innovative solutions into every aspect of the Cleanfields initiative.
The Cleanfields Campsite: A Model for Eco-Friendly Living
One of the core pillars of Cleanfields is education. The initiative aims to raise awareness about the environmental impact of festival waste, particularly abandoned tents and camping gear. This year, festival-goers will have the option to stay at a dedicated Cleanfields campsite. This area fosters a sense of community and environmental stewardship, encouraging attendees to live sustainably during their stay.
Festival-goers are encouraged to take the Cleanfields pledge, which includes commitments such as:
Keeping their camp clean and taking their tent home Bringing only essential items Considering sustainable travel options Using recycling points throughout the campsite Enhanced Recycling Efforts & Transportation Options
Cleanfields is stepping up its recycling game with several new initiatives and is addressing the carbon footprint of traveling to the festival by promoting eco-friendly transportation options:
Numerous recycling points will be scattered across the festival site Rewards will be offered for proper waste disposal, including side-stage experiences and exclusive merchandise A cup exchange program will be implemented in the event arena Partnering with Big Green Coach to offer sustainable coach travel Providing shuttle bus services from nearby train stations Encouraging car-sharing among attendees Through these robust measures, Creamfields aims to cut down waste, boost recycling rates, and minimize the festival’s overall environmental impact. Cleanfields is not just a plan; it’s a pledge to the future, setting a precedent for other festivals. By leading the charge towards sustainability, Creamfields is preserving the beauty of its festival site and inspiring a global community of music lovers to think and act green.

Listen to a beautiful track we recently came across.
Knock knock, it’s new music once again! Always eager to welcome talents from all over the world and their compositions, we’d like to share a truly wonderful remix with you all. The remix comes from Trance mastermind DIM3NSION, and the original comes to you courtesy of the EDM duo Secret Wish.
Secret Wish
Secret Wish, a Belgian Dance-Pop duo, are a growing force, making a name for themselves worldwide. The pair, comprised of seasoned DJ and producer Kurt and dynamic vocalist Heidi, create music with a mission: pure, unadulterated fun. Their style, self-referred to as “bubblegum dancey stuff“, blends Kurt’s experience in the nightlife scene with Heidi’s honed vocals.
DIM3NSION
A pioneer in Spain’s Electronic music scene, DIM3NSION has carved a remarkable path over the past fifteen years. His journey began as a budding producer at home, and he’s since ascended to the ranks of respected artists signed by major labels. Remarkably, he’s got to the ears of Trance legend Ferry Corsten, who’s signed his records to Flashover recordings, and with who he worked on the conjoint track ‘Safe With Me’.
‘Melody Of The Music Man (DIM3NSION Remix)’
Now, Secret Wish have unveiled a new heater. Mixed and mastered by the Grammy-nominated producer Benny Steele, ‘Melody Of The Music Man’ is driven by an emotive melody that evokes a powerful emotional response, and it stands out as a unique instrumental track that will remind you of the dancefloors of yesteryear. Which is what makes the track so special.
Adding an extra dimension of feels to the track, enter DIM3NSION. His rework of ‘Melody Of The Music Man’ is written in a Progressive Trance / Trance style, making use of the, well, melody, as the centrepiece of a heartwarming club anthem.
This remix is crafted in such a way that it will take you on a journey. It serves as a vintage Trance spirit, wearing more modern clothes, and we bet more than a few attendees might shed a tear with this one if the mood is just right. We were just about to… at home. Speaks volumes.

Two years after Gordo and Drake's collaborations became instant summertime staples in 2022, they're ready to showcase more on the former's debut album, Diamante.
The culmination of over four years of work, the introspective project moonlights as a reflection of Gordo's evolution as an artist. He famously retired his Carnage alias back in May 2022.
"[Diamante is] the most emotional project I’ve worked on in my life," Gordo said. "It features work from artists I’ve looked up to and artists who inspire me, some I've known for years and others I've met more recently."
Gordo and Drake's partnership has been instrumental in shaping the landscape where hip-hop meets house music. Their collaborative force was first showcased on Drake's dance-influenced album Honestly, Nevermind, in which the DJ contributed production to six tracks. The synergy is set to continue on Diamante, which spans 16 tracks and includes high-profile features from T-Pain, Leon Bridges, Maluma, Fuerza Regida and Keinemusik's Rampa and &ME, among others.
"We've been friends for years but had never actually properly collaborated on music before Honestly, Nevermind," Gordo says of his first official collaboration with Drake. "To have him on my debut album speaks volumes about what people can expect on it."
View the original article to see embedded media.
Since adopting the Gordo alias, the "Taraka" producer has earned several significant accolades in a short period of time, including a Grammy nomination and topping Billboard's "Hot 100 Producers" chart. Fans can look forward to the producer's next milestone with the release of his debut album on July 26th.
"This album embodies all my different tastes and personalities, from what I listen to, to what I play live, who I am as an artist, but most importantly, who Diamante is," he added. "It’s my most personal work to date and comes from a place of love and authenticity. Most of the album’s production was done at home in Hawaii. I would produce until 6 PM, then I’d take a break, sit on my terrace, and watch the sunset while listening to the album and taking it all in. It’s an album you can listen to at home and at a 5am rave; it can be the pinnacle of your night or the perfect come-down after a long day. I can’t wait to show you what I’ve been working on."

The iconic Hospital Records is known for taking drum & bass to places it's never been, but the team behind the label outdid themselves this time.
Hospital literally took their music to new heights in the skies of Bristol, where they recently hosted the city's first-ever hot air balloon rave. The ambitious event came to life via a collaboration between Hospitality (the label's global events arm), the summertime event organizer Siren and the nonprofit RIOT Noise.
Together, they organized the skyward rave and brought in Hospital Records artist Anaïs to DJ. A small group of contest winners packed into the gondola and partied to her blistering blend of jungle and drum & bass as a drone followed in close pursuit to capture stunning, panoramic views of Bristol.
View the original article to see embedded media.
"When you think of Bristol, a couple of things come to mind, and that’s an unbeatable nightlife, and hot air balloons," said Tom Hoyle, co-founder of Siren. For us, this was a no brainer... It's a once-in-a-lifetime experience, and what I love about Bristol is that it encourages you to make these wild ideas actually happen. We ran a competition for anyone to apply for a spot in the basket, and we were overwhelmed with the amount of responses we got."
The event arrived ahead of Hospitality on the Harbour, scheduled for August 3rd at Lloyds Amphitheatre in the heart of Bristol. Anaïs features on the bill, which is topped by drum & bass superstars Andy C and Netsky.

Listen to a gigantic track we recently came across.
Here at EDMTunes, we’re always excited to find out about artists that weren’t on our radar before and who amaze us with their productions. It’s happened today, in the form of a very versatile, veteran artist, who’s just put out an album, mind you. Meet Bogendorfer.
Bogendorfer
Hailing from Oberwart, Austria, the ever-evolving artist Franz Johann Bogendorfer, also known in the industry as just Bogendorfer, has been a powerhouse in the scene for years, masterfully switching between Deep Tech, Organic Tech House, and Downtempo sounds that make up his core essence.
Earlier this month, he unveiled his latest artist album, Cohuna Beatz. Consisting of eight tracks, produced at the renowned Batusim Studio Oberwart, and released through vinyl, the LP represents the culmination of Bogendorfer’s years of dedication and experimentation. And out of the album, one track in particular blew us right out of the water.
‘Ogun’
Warm and groovy, ‘Ogun’ is a wonderful blend of Deep House and Afro House, taking the foundation from the first, but the personality of the second, resulting in a very interesting concept that stands out in today’s template-filled world.
Playing with high toms, African chants, House claps, robotic vocals, synth arpeggios, and much more, Bogendorfer is able to portray an arrangement like few around, providing a fresh note of Dance to the industry, and paving the path for other producers to follow his footsteps.
Listen to Bogendorfer’s ‘Ogun’ in full by clicking the Spotify button we’ve provided. Also, be sure to follow him on his socials. Head over here to listen to the full Cohuna Beatz album. It’s a wrap on Tomorrowland Weekend 1, 2024!
With a slew of spectacular performances, extravagant production with the largest mainstage to date and a sold-out attendance, it’s difficult to pin-point a stand-out act.  However, if we’re going to talk about the youngest person to play at the festival this year, that title goes to DJ Archie.
Hailing from the North Essex, England, at just 9-years old Archie Norbury has left quite a prominent mark in the electronic dance music scene.
His foray into this world commenced at a young age, where Archie’s interest in DJing began when he was just 2 years old. His inspiration came from seeing his father’s love for music where in an interview with DJ Mag, Archie said that he first tried his hands out at DJing on his dad’s equipment “My dad was a DJ and one day I turned on his equipment when he was out of the room and I was mixing and it was all in time,” he said.
DJ Archie‘s career has been growing over the years, highlighted by significant turning points like winning DJ competitions and building a social media following. In 2018, at the age of four years and 130 days, Archie was officially acknowledged by Guinness World Records as the youngest DJ in the world. This accomplishment made him well-known throughout the world and opened doors for him to have more success as a DJ.
DJ Archie‘s performance at Tomorrowland 2024 was the talk of the event. His energetic music and clever mixing techniques hooked the audience, and his connection with the crowd made his set truly memorable. Reflecting on his triumph with DJ Mag, Archie shared, “I had the audience in the palm of my hand, and they were all moving to the beat.” Both attendees and online viewers were abuzz with praise for this rising talent, cementing Archie’s promising future in the industry.
As DJ Archie continues to break boundaries and inspire future talent, the EDM world is excited to see what he will accomplish next!

Regard has released "Call On Me," a pulsing reincarnation of the vocal sample from Eric Prydz's seminal hit of the same name, only reimagined for a new era of dancefloors.
The "Ride It" producer, who has seven #1 US Dance Radio hits and over five billion streams to his name, lands on Thrive with his latest anthem. His nuanced production shines through an infectious house arrangement that gleams with both chart-topping potential and maximalist energy.
Breathing new life into a classic while carving its own identity, "Call On Me" speaks to the beautifully cyclical nature of dance music. Regard was only 11 when Prydz dropped his iconic track in 2004.
"The release day is just one day, but the record is forever," Regard said on Instagram.
Going back even further, the song's iconic hook is rooted in the 1982 release of Steve Winwood's "Valerie." Co-written by Songwriter's Hall of Fame member Will Jennings, that track is about the story of American singer Valerie Carter, who sung backup for legends like James Taylor and Jackson Browne before launching a fascinating solo career. Beloved for her sultry voice, Carter sadly battled substance abuse issues before dying of a heart attack in 2017 at the age of 64.

Hardwell transported fans to the golden era of EDM with his throwback set at Tomorrowland 2024. Performing on the Tomorrowland Freedom Stage, the Dutch DJ brought back beloved festival anthems and a — FOR YEARS — unreleased collaboration with Martin Garrix. His performance blended nostalgia with electrifying energy, creating a special treat for fans.
Choosing The Throwback Theme
Surprisingly, Hardwell revived the “Big Room” era at Tomorrowland. He performed on Friday, July 19, during the first week of the festival. Though limited to the Freedom Stage for this set, Hardwell will return to the Mainstage in the festival’s second week. In late June, he asked fans on social media, “Playing the Freedom Stage at Tomorrowland on 19 July means the Freedom to do something different. What kinda set would you like me to play?!”, and fans overwhelmingly requested a Throwback EDM set, although a vinyl set also received some votes.
Memorable Moments From The Set
From the opening notes, Hardwell set the stage for a nostalgic journey, starting with a 2015 intro. His setlist featured timeless Revealed Recordings tracks like ‘Countdown‘, a collaboration with MAKJ, and ‘Apollo‘ featuring Amba Shepherd from 2012. A highlight was ‘Musicbox‘, a previously unreleased track with Martin Garrix, presented in a fresh mashup with ‘Who’s Ready To Jump’, ‘Magnomite’, and ‘Chuckie’. Hardwell also included ‘Fifteen‘, a Blasterjaxx release from over ten years ago, adding his unique twist. The set paid tribute to Avicii, featuring three key moments honoring the late Tim Bergling, who passed away in 2018.
Conclusion
Hardwell’s Throwback EDM set at Tomorrowland 2024 was a heartfelt homage to the classic sounds that defined a generation of festival-goers. His performance on the Freedom Stage showcased the timeless appeal of big room anthems and honored the legends of the genre. As fans look forward to his return to the Mainstage, they anticipate yet another memorable show from the Dutch superstar. Relive his set with this custom “Drops Only” video, below.

For years, Privilege hosted thousands of fans and dozens of superstars through some memorable nights. Nowadays, the space has been forgotten and turned into a ghost venue. However, after being granted a permit to be refurbished, a new project is underway to make this the biggest venue in the entire world. With a capacity of 15,000 thousand people, Ibiza might welcome a new club into its scene very soon.
Privilege Ibiza: Part of the Islands History
The club known as Privilege opened in Ibiza in 1975 in a location close to the village of Sant Rafael de Sa Creu under the name Ku Club. 20 years later it went through some reformations and came back to life until its closing in 2020. For many years, it hosted stars the size of Madonna and Freddy Mercury. The latter would record the video for his track ‘Barcelona’ inside Privilege. Defined as a super club, it could fit 10,000 people inside its 6500 square meter venue.
Privilege Ibiza is set to become one of the biggest and most iconic clubs on the island where partying is almost a religion. With a main room the size of an aircraft hangar, there’s no doubt that Privilege will become one of the biggest spots in the scene sooner rather than later. The club has gone through its fair share of stages. It started as a restaurant with a swimming pool. Later, it became a popular gay club after being sold to a football player. One thing’s for sure. You will always find a good party when at Privilege.
As the Spanish entertainment scene recovers from the consequences of the pandemic, more and more places, projects and parties appear. It is not easy to compete in such a thriving scene. However, the return of one of the greats is always a welcome sight. Privilege is back!

Faithless, the legendary electronic music group behind "Insomnia" and "God Is a DJ," have officially confirmed their highly anticipated return with the release of a brand-new single, "Find a Way."
Known for their groundbreaking fusion of electronic beats with introspective and often profound lyrics, the group’s latest project continues their tradition of redrawing musical boundaries. Featuring the talents of spoken-word artist Suli Breaks, "Find a Way" serves as a vibrant precursor to the band’s upcoming eighth studio album, Champion Sound, blending infectious rhythms with a funky groove to showcase their renewed energy.
Champion Sound promises a rich addition to the band’s stacked discography—a testament to their enduring creativity and innovation, even after the tragic loss of frontman Maxi Jazz in December 2022 to a long illness. The production of the new album is being led by core members and seasoned electronic music pioneers Sister Bliss and Rollo.

The release was teased via an announcement on Faithless’ Instagram, but no date has been confirmed and details are still under wraps. Champion Sound follows the success of the band's previous album All Blessed, which released in 2020 after a decade-long hiatus and received widespread acclaim for its reflective sound.
"As many of you have noticed, we’re back… Some shows have already been announced but we couldn’t start the summer without a little personal note," Bliss and Rollo wrote on Instagram back in April. "Maxi died just over a year ago and obviously we miss him every day. Thank you all for all of your kind words of support over this last year. It has really, really meant a lot."
"In the meantime, we never stopped (couldn’t stop, never wanted to stop!) making music," the band continued. "Even during Maxi’s long illness we recorded and released 'All Blessed' and now finally, 8 years after our last live performance, we are returning to festival stages across the summer and are planning some of our own shows later this year…"
View the original article to see embedded media.
Musically, the upcoming album promises to continue this trajectory: a homage to the classic Faithless sounds that incorporates contemporary influences and reflects the dynamic landscape of electronic music. Champion Sound is rumored to feature a diverse range of guest artists, adding new dimensions and fresh perspectives to the album. Previous collaborations have included artists like Dido, whose ethereal vocals added a unique touch to tracks like "One Step Too Far"; and Estelle, who brought a soulful energy to "Why Go?."
For those eager to experience the new Faithless sound live, their sold-out summer tour promises a thrilling return, featuring both beloved classics and new hits from Champion Sound alike. After a headlining performance at Glastonbury 2024, the album is sure to be an exciting new chapter in Faithless's storied career.

Jako Diaz strikes gold again. The Italian deep house maestro teams up with LA’s Jakke. The result? Pure magic.
“Your Love’s Not Wasted” is a masterpiece. It’s deep house at its finest. Diaz’s production shines. Jakke’s vocals soar.
Diaz’s sound selection is impeccable. Each element fits perfectly. The beats are crisp. The bassline is rich. Synths shimmer and pulse.
Jakke’s voice is the cherry on top. It’s emotive. It’s infectious. It carries the song’s message with power.
The message is clear: your love matters. It’s never wasted. It leaves an imprint. It shapes you. It shapes others.
Diaz and Jakke create a sonic embrace. It’s warm. It’s comforting. It’s a reminder that you’re not alone.
About the tune
The track builds beautifully. It starts subtle. It grows. It swells. By the chorus, you’re fully immersed.
Jakke’s lyrics are poignant. They’re relatable. They touch on universal experiences. Love. Loss. Resilience.
The chorus is anthemic. “Your love’s not wasted.” It’s a mantra. A rallying cry. A comfort in dark times.
Diaz’s musical backdrop is lush. It’s deep. It’s emotive. It perfectly complements Jakke’s heartfelt delivery.
The song’s structure is classic deep house. It’s familiar yet fresh. It’s danceable yet introspective.
This is music with a message. Music with heart. Music that stays with you long after the last beat fades.

How does mustard taste?
How does it make you feel when the ratio is a little too heavy?
It’s that screwface, eye-watering, but ultimately satisfying punch that Alex, Kieran, and Luke are looking to supply with their brand new drum and bass label: Mustard Music.
Much like the yellow condiment, the Brighton trio possess strong, sharp and unique principles that will help separate them from the rest. From their tight friendship laying the foundation for an egoless, shared-responsibility of label management. Through to their incredibly deep knowledge and networks in underground drum and bass, allowing them to execute A&R at a high level.
Their top target when searching for tunes and talent is the inexplicable element of funk. The Mustard Music crew grew up on 2000s and 2010s-era neurofunk, techstep, and minimal – all of which have had moments of utter funkiness, but, in some in cases, the subgenres have now slipped into soullessness. Mustard Music want to turn that definition of neurofunk back to what it was when ‘Wormhole’ was the standard. And with their first string of releases from the likes of Brain, Serpnt, Genic, Trakker, L0G1N, and many more – the journey begins now.
Not only do they kick off with a defined sound and loaded schedule, but enlisting the sought-after illustrator Adam Menzies takes their visual aesthetic immediately to a high level – nailing the assignment to bring the distinctive mustard concept to life.
We sat down with one third of Mustard Music, Alex Finney AKA Finstarr, to talk turkey on starting a new drum and bass label, and where they want to take it.
What inspired the idea to start a label?
Well we love music, and we thought we’d be good at it. There’s so many labels in the scene now with varying levels of success – and we came to realise there’s an art to it all in terms of branding, artwork, events… There’s so much that comes into play, but we felt confident we knew what we were doing across all those areas.
Confident due to spending so much time in this scene…? What do your experiences look like?
Well for me, I started on rap and grime, which then led me to all the lyricists on drum and bass; Skibadee, Eksman, and stuff like that. This was often on jump-up, but I quickly began to gravitate more to the minimal and underground sound. Andy C’s Nightlife 5 was a massive one for me. It sucked me right into realising how far you push the genre.
That must have been a big one for many – I absolutely loved Nightlife 5.
Yes! Tracks like ‘Strange Science’ and ‘Floating Zero’… it was incredible really. It’s mad to think there won’t be any more Nightlife releases.
It was a golden era for those mix CDs, and for RAM Records…
I remember going to Brixton Academy for RAM New Years Eve, meeting Rene Lavice, and it was such a good night. They used to be the best nights I went out to, and it’s all just completely changed now.
How did you cut your teeth on the business side of label management?
So I used to run a music agency as well. This showed me the good, bad and ugly of the scene to be honest, and it can be horrific. There is a tonne of narcissism in the arts in general – music is not even the worst one you know.
But yeah, you do see that it drives people to be really good music producers or get involved in the scene, some of these people are here for the wrong reasons – but for me, Kieran, and Luke, we know that we’re starting a record label as best mates, and that we’re there for each other until the last breath. We have such a strong group, it’s a beautiful world that we’ve built. We’re all non-judgemental and positive.
It’s rare to have a group like this, and we’ve realised that we’re good with people, which is a useful skill in this label management game.
How did you guys all meet?
So Kieran has always been around Brighton. I grew up in Surrey, so I was always in either Brighton or London, where I’ve explored both scenes deeply. Back in the day I had my first DJ set at Concorde 2, and Kieran was doing the same, so that’s where we met – he was on the vinyl back then. Also, obviously, Volks is a bit of a church to us.
We met Luke at the Steelyard about four years ago. I’ve never met someone so in love with D&B and the scene. He loved the jump up back then, but he started to phase out of it when he started hanging around with me and Kieran.
Me, Kieran, and another friend called Paul ‘Redshift’, we used to go DJing together – and I just thought, we are mustard. We used to tell friends we were a group, and that was our name. Mustard was just such a catchy idea.
So mustard is a word you enjoy?
Yeah, I suppose, in a working-class world, saying something is ‘mustard’ means it’s ‘hard’ or I think it means ‘quality’ or ‘strong’ or ‘large’ or whatever.
Oh, I never realised it was a slang term!
Yeah, it is. And if you think about it, mustard is strong isn’t it – it burns the nostrils. We’re obviously here to release strong music, with a strong brand personality.
How are you bringing that personality out?
So I’m really happy with Adam Menzies’ work on the visuals. I’ve always been a fan of him, and I know Sofa Sound was using him, so I asked DLR for his permission – which he said was fine, so long as it looks different. So we’ve tried to create a bit of a different world with it. The outcome has just been amazing, and it’s a bit of a dream come true having him on board.
I love art, and I’ve always invested in things like prints. I know other labels like Truth Hertz are putting out prints and I really like the finished product. I love it when record labels explore stuff like this, and support other forms of art.
I have ideas of doing similar stuff. Taking the promo seriously. I think if you want your music to be heard and cut through, you’ve got to go big on the marketing side and have a really strong brand. Mustard, fortunately, has had a really good response. I don’t like to talk that way because I don’t want it to be all about the business side, but you do want your label to be successful, and you want these good tunes to be heard.
What’s the vibe you’re trying to get across with the artwork and promotion?
Positivity, funk, and a bit of humour – which I think we’re getting across. Me and my friends, we embrace happiness and authenticity, and we knew that we were ready to start a label. What you see in the brand, and with the label, is just a joyful experience between mates.
Sounds like great foundations there. And definitely some shades of inspiration from Sofa Sound, CIA, Dispatch…
100%. CIA have been absolutely doing it for me in the last two years especially. Every single release has been an absolute banger, and it’s all different types of drum and bass.
Also, I started the Facebook appreciation group for DLR – so he’s obviously way up there for me too! He’s always had a different sound. And his label is, what I would consider, the original neurofunk sound from before the 2010s. I feel like neuro lost it’s funk and became all glitchy or jump-uppy at times. In the 2010s you had guys like Konichi & Decimal Bass coming through, influencing Noisia to start making tracks like ‘Stamp Out’, and I was just watching neuro change into this almost jump-up sound. But guys like Break, DLR, and Dispatch were always keeping it funky.
So you’ve gained influence from those labels – but how are you coming in and differentiating?
One of the areas I look for is when people who were formerly in groups have started doing their own solo work. I also think I have a great ear for discovering artists coming up. For example, Genic was always one of them, and actually, they always used to say to me at The Volks that I should start a label – so they had some influence over me and planted the seed.
Sam Sepnt as well, he’s part of ZeroZero, and when I started to hear his solo stuff, I knew he was someone that was worth approaching. I’m overwhelmed by the stuff we’ve got from him. He’s always bringing the vibe that we want, and I feel the same about Brain. He’s got that original techstep-neurofunk sound. It’s just an honour to release that sound. You’ll hear that on our first release. And I feel like there’s actually not many labels doing that specific sound – outside of maybe DSCI4, and Metalheadz do it a bit too.
Who else have you got coming up on the label?
Crystal Clear has said he’ll do some for us – and for me he can be just as good as it gets. I’ve hit up Dub Head as well. It’s artists like these where I feel like they’re not supported enough. So it’s nice to be able to come through and offer some support, and a place to get their music heard. It’s going to be a completely non-profit thing, whatever we make gets put back into the label.
So do you feel like there’s a surplus of artists and tracks out there within your niche?
I feel like some of the tunes we have coming are better than what’s getting released on some of the labels in this niche for sure. We want people’s best work – and that’s definitely what we’ve got in the release pipeline.
There’s a three-tracker with Brain and Serpnt coming out first, at the start of July. There’s a four tracker from Kalm – one of them sounds like an Ivy Lab tune. We’ve got Genic, Kidsonic, and honestly loads more in the next year. It’s really exciting.
We’ve also got TeeBee on the mastering, who is a legend. His work is perfect, and it’s quite relieving to be working with him and have him on the mastering.
So Mustard seems to have a pretty defined sound. Do you see it evolving during the life of the label?
That’s a good question: Would it evolve…? Because I feel like funk, the funk I’m talking about, Sofa Sound brings that – but we want to bring our own style of funk. We want to be the funkiest label around really. And that’s starting to develop. Artists like Genic, they’ve got serious funk and it keeps getting better. The stuff coming now will absolutely put them on the map if they’re not already.
Funk in drum and bass is very synonymous with Bristol – do you think there’s a synergy with the Brighton scene as well?
Oh definitely. Even people that’ve grown up in Bristol, that are top artists, they’ve probably played more times in The Volks than they have in bloody Bristol! It’s like that, it’s a real home for D&B. So I’ve always been drawn to that club and their nights.
Deep and minimal is also huge here. You’ve got Motive, which is a night that’s been running for over ten years, and it’s always been about that vibe – shout out to Ryan Mains and that event.
There are some good D&B labels from Brighton, but I just feel like there should be more really, it’s such a home for art and culture. It’s such an active scene with something on pretty much every weekend.
You hear only good things about the scene down there!
But that does lead me to a bit of a new tangent of most music events being at night time. Sleeping patterns and routine for humans are so important, I don’t think anyone can deny that. To see the DJs that you want to see, you need to be up all night – which is mad.
Also when you’re going out, you’re going out – there’s socialising, alcohol, and drugs, which are incredibly popular in the scene. Realistically, many people are not sleeping, and losing routine is a massive factor that people don’t consider or talk about enough.
I also personally know so many people who have had problems with alcohol and drugs, and it’s hard to be around it all the time – so there’s a struggle out there. You’re never really going to be able to organise a sober event either – it’s part of the economy of it, drinks make money, and people buy tickets to events where you can buy drinks. You can’t escape it.
For me it’s just a shame that there are not as many day events – they do happen, but I want to bring more of them. They’re so much more appealing.
I tend to get a lot more excited for a day event, because I know I’ll be able to see every DJ I want to see…
Exactly. You’ve got time to grab some food after, go to bed, and then the next day get out for a walk and a roast dinner with your loved ones!
Perfect weekend.
Ok last question for you – what are the checkpoints you guys want to hit for the label?
I’ll be honest, me and the boys, we don’t have grand expectations. But that’s what makes us happy, we just like to be present. We’re happy and we’re authentic.
I’ve been thinking lately about what success really is, what’s ‘being better’? I’ve been embracing just being in the present and living in the moment.
But that said – I mean it would be a huge milestone to have a DLR or Break release on the label. Another one would be to host a club night that has that certain aura. Like when you go to a Sofa Sound or Symmetry night, and every tune that gets played just has a little more meaning. But overall, we’re humble. We’re just going to take it one step at a time and enjoy the process.

Get ready for the “Rave The Planet” Parade, set to take over Berlin on August 17, 2024! This epic parade is more than just an event — it’s a massive celebration of Techno culture that honors the roots of the Rave movement while showcasing its global evolution and influence. Last year, over 300,000 ravers filled the streets, and this year promises to be even bigger.

The official anthem for this year’s parade is a powerhouse collaboration between three legendary figures in the Techno scene: Dr. Motte, Westbam and Tom Wax. These icons bring their unique expertise and passion for the genre to create something truly special. And there’s even more reason to celebrate: Techno has just been recognized as a UNESCO Intangible Cultural Heritage, giving the entire Rave movement a huge boost!

Rave The Planet Hymn – Two Visions, One Passion

For the first time in the young parade’s history, this year’s anthem features not one, but two thrilling versions. Emerging from the joint studio sessions between Westbam, Dr. Motte and Tom Wax, these tracks developed into distinct paths, each reflecting the personal style and vision of its creators. The result? Two heart-pounding tracks that beat together like twin heart chambers for the “Rave The Planet” Parade.

The Dr. Motte & Tom Wax mix, expertly mastered by Perla Audio, delivers powerful spoken word elements, expansive pads, and a fast-paced 137 BPM Techno kick drum. On the flip side, the Westbam/ML interpretation shines with catchy arpeggios, old-school beats, and soulful vocals, offering a fresh yet nostalgic vibe.

These mixes are all about the unifying power of music, bridging the gap between the Rave pioneers and the new generation of ravers. They embody a shared vision of love, hope and peace, reinforcing the unity message at the heart of the Rave The Planet Parade: Love is Stronger!

Iconic Artists for Pounding Anthems

Berlin-based Westbam is a true legend in the electronic dance music scene, known for his innovative production techniques and unforgettable live performances. With a career spanning three decades, he’s worked with global superstars like Moby, The Prodigy and Fatboy Slim, and rocked major festivals around the world.

Fans attending Tomorrowland over the weekend had little warning that the biggest father-son duo in dance music was poised to launch at one of the festival's most intimate venues.
Speaking with Tomorrowland's One World Radio, Myles O'Neal announced he'd be joined by his father Shaquille O'Neal, otherwise known as DJ Diesel, for a high-flying DJ set in the festival's Rave Cave.
"We’ve got some special news," Myles revealed to One World Radio host AdamK. "We’re debuting our duo, father-son duo."
Known for its underground aesthetic and tight quarters, the Rave Cave is one of Tomorrowland's most intimate stages, offering a unique contrast to its larger-than-life Mainstage. Myles, who DJed at EDM.com's Miami Music Week party earlier in 2024, humorously prepared his towering father for the unique occasion, saying it was "going to be a surprise" for him.

With Shaq and Myles both experiencing individual success on the decks, the NBA Hall of Famer had previously suggested the art of DJing was becoming a friendly competition at home.
"Everything is a competition in the O’Neal household," Shaq told us in a 2022 interview. "We’re born winners. Since a young age Myles was always the one to branch off from the athletic route and focus on fashion and music. He’s a born entertainer. I see him grinding on FaceTime and when he opened up for me at LSU. Definitely proud of Myles."
Adding to the day's excitement, elsewhere on the festival grounds, Shaq was spotted head-banging in the crowd during Sullivan King's set. Blending in was never an option for the NBA legend-turned-dubstep star, but his enthusiasm was contagious. Check out the video below.

DJ Archie has once again proven that age is just a number after becoming the youngest to ever DJ at Tomorrowland.
Archie took the beloved EDM festival by storm over the weekend, and at just nine years old, he's once again cemented his place in history. The impressive milestone follows his record-breaking achievement at Glastonbury, where he became the youngest DJ to grace the legendary festival in the summer of 2023.
Archie’s journey into the world of music started almost as soon as he could walk, guided by his father, DJ Essex. By the age of four, he had already set a Guinness World Record as the world’s youngest club DJ. His passion for electronic music has only grown since then, each performance showcasing his evolving skills and boundless enthusiasm.
It's clear DJ Archie handles his sets with a sense of professionalism that belies his years. After commanding the stage with a drum & bass set in Tomorrowland's Atmosphere tent, the ascendant DJ took to social media to thank the stage manager as well as his personal chaperone for their time in a heartwarming post.
With multiple high-profile sets now to his name, DJ Archie is better poised than ever to cross over and join the lineup of a major stateside festival, something the young talent has his sights set on achieving in the near future. In the meantime, watch him throw down at Tomorrowland below.

We recently sat down with three impressive artists, for insight into a very interesting project.
We love music. No doubts about that. And so, we love finding new music to show the world. This time we found not one, not two, but three songs that have their roots in a common starting point, each with very interesting results. We’re talking about ‘Tambor‘, the lead single from Mia Moretti‘s 2023 homonymously named EP, which received the remix treatment of duo PAUZA and Gio Lucca.
Mia’s single showcased a fresh direction back then, as she continued to develop her voice as a producer. Sampling and paying homage to legendary Colombian vocalist La Momposina and singers from the Colombian-Caribbean coast, she crafted something quite special. As remixers this time, Mia welcomed female duo PAUZA from Havana, Cuba, who brought the fire and embers with their ‘Bata Remix‘, and Peru-born-Phoenix-based DJ/producer Gio Lucca, who flipped the track under his ‘4AM Terrace Dub’.
You can listen to Gio Lucca’s remix exclusively over Beatport, by heading over here.
We had a chance to sit down and talk with all of them, to understand how the release is shaped, what they had in mind, what their sound is, and how their Latin roots have helped them find their unique sounds. So lay back, and read on, as we have a Q&A round with Mia Moretti, PAUZA, and Gio Lucca.
What’s a quality, sound, vibe, or other, that you as an artist feel is your signature mark when producing? In other words, what’s something someone who listens to your music for the first time will notice and immediately associate with you?
Mia Moretti: “I am drawn to people and stories. This is why all the music I have made is heavily sampled. I also believe in keeping as much of the soul intact as possible when sampling. The strongest part of Tambor is Toto La Momposina’s voice. It is the heart of the record. I want people to hear the strength of her voice, to connect to it and to tap into her world. I hope people can feel this connection in all of my records.“
PAUZA: “One of our distinctive marks is the use of percussion and Latin rhythms blended with electronic elements. When someone listens to our music for the first time, they will likely notice the fusion of Afro-Latin rhythms with electronic bases, creating a vibrant and energetic experience that represents us as artists.“
Gio Lucca: “When someone listens to my music for the first time, they’ll immediately notice the drums and groovy bass rhythms. I love blending the glitchy minimal style with warm sounds from hardware like the Linndrum and Korg/Moog synths. I’m always experimenting with different sounds but I try to incorporate a vintage feel in all of my records one way or another.“
Do you think a part of your early influences growing up in Latin America is captured and transferred over to your sound as a producer? If so, which one?
Mia Moretti. Mia Moretti: “I grew in the Bay Area, and that definitely had a strong influence on my sound as a producer and my interest in music from all genres being such a diverse home of people, cultures and sounds.“
PAUZA: “Definitely. Growing up in Latin America allowed us to absorb a rich diversity of sounds and native rhythms. This is reflected in our music through the integration of instruments like the drum and conga, and rhythms that evoke Cuban folk music and other Latin genres. These elements are transferred to our production, giving a unique and authentic touch to our sound.“
Gio Lucca: “Absolutely, I think that growing up in Latin America has had a huge impact on me as a producer. Peru has such a rich culture of music and art and being exposed to that at a young age sparked my passion for music. This has deeply influenced my appreciation for all music, and I try to infuse that energy into my tracks, creating unique fusion sounds in my productions.“
Please tell us about the moment in which you remember music clicked for you, and you decided to become an artist.
Mia Moretti: “I was at a nightclub in Los Angeles and DJAM was playing. It was the height of mash up era and he was playing everything from Hip-Hop to Pop to French Electro. What I was drawn to was not what he was playing, but the story he was telling. He was weaving every song together into a great adventure. That was what was so memorable about his DJ sets: they made you think, but they were playful. I wanted to tell stories the way he did on the dance floor.“
PAUZA: “The moment music clicked for us was during a local party in Havana, where we heard a mix of electronic music with traditional Cuban sounds. That experience was eye-opening and made us realize the potential of fusing both worlds. From then on, we knew we wanted to be part of that scene and contribute our own style and energy.”
Gio Lucca: “The moment music truly clicked for me was when I got my first guitar at 11. I spent hours learning how to play my favorite songs and it led to spending a lot of time with my childhood friends recording music on my family computer. That desire to pursue a career in music was deep in my head since then and It wasn’t until the Covid lockdown happened where I had free time to explore music production at a deeper level and take a shot at it.“
(To Mia) How was ‘Tambor’ born? What’s the story behind the sample used, and how did the song come about?
Mia Moretti: “I was in Colombia record shopping and I found a trove of Bullerengue records. I was drawn to these samples as I said before because of their voices- pure, honest, soulful. They reminded me of classic house records with strong vocals that carry the track. These were the same stories, just different woman telling them. I wanted to make a record with Toto’s voice that would live in the spaces where I play music. To share her voice with a new audience.“
(To Mia) You’ve played in several parts of the world, and as such you’ve probably had the chance to test the reaction of different crowds. Would you say the Northern Hemisphere enjoys the fusion of Latin American sounds in Dance music?
Mia Moretti: “That is definitely a tried and true fact you don’t need me to tell you that! Latin American sounds are impossible not to dance to. I’ll leave it at that.“
(To the remixers) How (or what) did you feel when you listened to ‘Tambor’ for the first time, and what would you say are the key takeaways about how your remix flipped the original track into a new direction?
PAUZA. PAUZA: “The first time we heard ‘Tambor,’ we felt deeply connected to its rhythmic essence and energy. When working on the remix, our goal was to highlight those elements while incorporating our own vision. We added layers of percussion and electronic textures to give it a new twist, maintaining the authenticity of the original track but taking it to a more contemporary and danceable real.“
Gio Lucca: “I had just come home from Miami Music Week when I first listened to ‘Tambor’ and it brought me back to Dennis Cruz’s set at Black Coffee’s Factory Town takeover. It was the first time I got to experience a deeper Dennis Cruz set and my remix aimed to take that essence and reinterpret it through my own lens, adding layers of deep basslines, percussion and subtle underground elements that reshape the track into a darker, more atmospheric direction. I would say the key takeaway is being able to show my range as an artist, as most of my music is high energy club music, where this track pays homage to the deeper late night underground vibes and my latin culture.“
(To PAUZA) We’re aware you girls are not the greatest fans of using renowned samples and sounds, and instead, you like to create every element of your tunes yourselves. Does that impact your workflow from time to time, do you feel like that slows down how quickly you can create and finish a track?
PAUZA: “Yes, creating each element of our songs from scratch can affect our workflow in terms of time, as it involves a more meticulous and detailed process. However, we believe this approach allows us to maintain an authenticity and originality that is essential to our identity as artists. Although it can slow down the creation and completion of a track, the final result always justifies the extra effort, as each song feels truly ours and unique.“
(To Gio) Your style of production is quite minimalistic, groovy and, to me, kind of old-school-resemblant. How did you gravitate to that late-night Tech House sound, was it something you always aimed to produce or did it all unfold somewhat effortlessly?
Gio Lucca: “What drew me to the minimal/deep tech sound was the minimalistic yet groove-driven nature of it. It allows room for a wide range of sounds, rhythms and subtle nuances to shine. The sense of community with this genre is also incredible, I’ve met some of my best friends and mentors through this music and I’m grateful for it.
The old-school vibe wasn’t something I consciously aimed for initially, but as I experimented with different styles and started learning about hardware, I found myself naturally gravitating towards this aesthetic. It feels like home to me — creatively, blending old-school influences with a modern twist — and is something I aim to portray throughout other aspects of my project as I’m a big fan of using VHS and film photography.”
(End of interview)
Final Words
Huge thanks to all the artists involved in this little interview. We loved diving a bit deeper into your own sounds, what sets you apart from other producers in the scene, and the work you did on ‘Tambor’. One of Australia’s greatest artists is now unlocking a new dimension of sound.
Great news for all Trance and Tech Trance lovers out there! Prolific DJ and producer MaRLo now embarks on a new sonic voyage, having kicked off his side alias, V3NOM. This project promises to sketch significant evolution in his career, propelling him from the high-octane world of his signature “MaRLo sound” towards — and beyond — Tech Energy grounds.
The Dutch-born-Australian-raised artist who has conquered the entire world with his productions and live shows has long been recognised for his unique sonic fingerprint, having released on labels such as A State Of Trance, Armind, and many of his later works under his own imprint, Reaching Altitude. V3NOM signifies a potent creative metamorphosis, one which sees him morph from MaRLo, to Tech Energy, and now to his sound iteration number 3, V3 if you will, hence V3NOM. This new alias crawls into the darker depths of harder styles, captivating listeners with bone-crushing kicks, epic anthemic melodies, and MaRLo’s signature touch.
‘Open Your Eyes’
V3NOM’s debut single, ‘Open Your Eyes‘, comes to be the introduction to this exciting new chapter, and was signed by none other than Timmy Trumpet, via his record label SINPHONY. The single represents a departure from the norm, a proper fusion of genres, letting elements of Psytrance, Hardstyle, and Big Room in, and turned into a rather darker piece. Pulsating drops, rave-fueled synths, and an atmosphere charged with electrifying intensity combine to create a track that is undeniably designed to ignite festival crowds.
To celebrate this new milestone in MaRLo’s story, ‘Open Your Eyes’ will undergo a remix competition, to be launched on July 24th. This way, both established producers and aspiring talents will be able to showcase their skills by flipping V3NOM’s debut track. Meanwhile, the V3NOM moniker will make its live debut in front of over 15,000 people this year at ALTITUDE, one of Australia’s most electrifying and eagerly awaited events.
