Ibiza has surged in popularity in recent years. Thanks to its stunning scenery and renowned lineup of world-class clubs, it is one of Europe’s most popular summer destinations. Now, the island’s Director of Tourism is working to make travel to the region easier for American visitors.
Juan Miguel Costa, who has overseen Ibiza’s recent tourism boom, believes it’s time for travelers from the United States to have a more direct route to the island. Currently, Americans must make a stopover in Europe before reaching Ibiza. But with record-breaking tourist numbers and soaring sales figures, officials see a direct connection as a strategic move to expand the island’s reach.
Preliminary plans are focused on major U.S. hubs like New York, Atlanta, and Miami as potential departure points for nonstop flights. While the initiative will take time to develop, Costa points to strong support from leading hotel brands as a sign of momentum. In addition, Ibiza is partnering with major travel platforms like Expedia and Booking.com to build attractive travel packages and secure broader support for the project.
HĂŻ Ibiza continues to be voted the best club in the world. Black Coffee will open the season this year on May 17th. Next door to them, UshuaĂŻa Ibiza has brought in world-class DJs for years, hosting huge residencies including Martin Garrix, Calvin Harris, Armin van Buuren, Kygo, David Guetta, and many more!

When two-thirds of Swedish House Mafia step into the studio, the result is rarely just another track.
With their latest collaboration, "No Enemies," Steve Angello and Sebastian Ingrosso deliver not only a forward-thinking standalone release, but the first major strike in a new creative chapter powered by their alliance with SUPERHUMAN. The new single finds its voice with Swedish singer-songwriter Namasenda, whose ethereal yet commanding vocals float above a relentless tide of industrial synths and war-drum percussion.
From its opening moments, the track surges with raw, unfiltered energy, blending the cinematic grandeur synonymous with Swedish House Mafia's anthems with a razor-edged sense of grit that feels tailor-made for the ascendant generation of ravers. The production feels like a dystopian cityscape being built and torn down in real-time, with layers of distorted bass carving through shimmering pads, all erupting into a chorus that highlights the duo's unmistakable chemistry.
The release of "No Enemies" follows the recent major announcement that Swedish House Mafia, comprising Ingrosso, Angello and Axwell, have officially partnered with SUPERHUMAN for global label and creative services. After years of working with industry heavyweights like EMI and Virgin, the group is returning to its Swedish roots by entrusting the Stockholm-based label with their ambitious creative vision moving forward.

What if a stage wasn't just a place to watch live music, but a portal that pulled you right into the heart of it? That's the promise of Bonnaroo's new Infinity Stage, which will transform the festival's Centeroo atmosphere in 2025.
The innovative stage, which Bonnaroo claims is "the world's largest 360° spatial audio experience," will tower over the other six preexisting structures in the festival's central hub. However, Brad Parker, Festival Director at Bonnaroo's organizer C3 Presents, describes Infinity is a "perfect additive" that will amplify the energy without altering the event's course.
Parker paints a picture of the open-air stage as more like fuel poured on an already roaring fire, with electronic dance music as the gasoline. He says the genre is the largest growing subculture within Bonnaroo's storied grounds at Great Stage Park, underscoring its rising dominance in today's festival landscape.
"The EDM scene of now is very reminiscent of the jam band scene of the early 2000s, a quiet but powerful underground culture making waves across the entire scene," Parker tells EDM.com. "Bonnaroo has always been about offering the best in the streets. It’s quite literally the origin of our namesake. EDM is the most popular it’s ever been, and The Infinity will be the most advanced production for soundscape we have ever had."
The inaugural Infinity lineup boasts a stacked lineup of electronic acts, including a rare collaborative DJ set from Of The Trees and Tape B, who were named to EDM.com's Class of 2024 and Class of 2025, respectively. It will also feature a highly anticipated takeover by Experts Only, the brand launched by dance music superstar John Summit, which was recently honored as 2024's best record label in our list of the year's top industry leaders.
The next-gen stage comes from Polygon Live, a renowned music tech firm out of the UK. It will incorporate spatial audio and a fully synchronized, state-of-the-art lighting system to create a multi-sensory live audio environment the likes of which has never been experienced by festival-goers, Parker said, citing Polygon.
"When Polygon Live said they could present audio to us at scale in a way that music festival fans had never heard, of course we were intrigued," he recalls. "The real creative process comes through the programming itself and the artists we are putting onstage. You will hear some once-in-a-lifetime performances from these artists on Infinity because you have never heard their music presented quite like this before."
View the original article to see embedded media.
The phrase "immersive" has been beaten into oblivion by the music industry, but it seems Infinity has earned the title. Polygon's ambitions are becoming reality as they develop the stage's production, which will disperse bleeding-edge spatial audio across three massive hemispherical domes.
"What we are attempting to do with Infinity is to audio what the Sphere is to video," Parker says.
He realized the remarkable potential of Infinity when he experienced a smaller version of its production at Thailand's Wonderfruit Festival back in December 2024. While it felt like dancing inside a state-of-the-art club, Parker says he was actually partying in the middle of a field, completely swept away by spatial audio that "really makes you feel like you are in the experience, and not at it."
Polygon Productions
Infinity could serve as a harbinger of where Bonnaroo is headed in the future. The festival's team, Parker says, will continue to learn, adapt and push the envelope as they embrace new technologies and opportunities to improve the fan experience.
He cautions, however, that evolving Bonnaroo's onsite experience must strike a careful balance between experimentation and reverence for the festival's storied legacy.
"Bonnaroo is one of the few festivals that has had the privilege now to serve multiple generations of fans," Parker explains. "Our biggest task is honoring and thanking those fans that got us through the first 20 years, while also looking forward to curating for the community of fans who will get us through our next 20."
"This is accomplished by paying modern day homage to our jam band roots," he continues, "with recent bookings like Goose, JRAD, Eggy and more while also focusing on what the younger generation is interested in, such as Olivia Rodrigo and elevating our EDM programming. Life is all about balance."
As spatial audio technology rapidly transforms music as we know it, with even the inventor of the MP3 racing to revolutionize, Bonnaroo is finding the sweet spot between innovation and authenticity. True to form, the festival is embracing the future of live music while staying true to its roots: vast azure skies, camping camaraderie and the kind of communal energy you can only find on The Farm.
"Festivals will always be special sacred places and testing grounds for new experiences," Parker says. "There is something about a festival that can’t quite be replicated in an arena or amphitheater, and it’s our jobs to tap into exactly what this is to stay fresh and keep evolving. There will always be a demand for live music, and we hope to be at the center of that craving."
"At the end of the day, we build worlds and create communities. If we can do that, we win big."

Meta introduces three Doja Cat avatars for purchase and use in its VR Horizon Worlds.
These are the latest “Fantastical Avatars”—equippable avatars in Meta’s Horizon Worlds—and users can purchase each of the three Doja Cat looks for 750 Meta Credits each, or about $7.50. The avatars can be found in Horizon Worlds’ Music Valley.
They’re the first Fantastical Avatars inspired by a musical artist, as Meta looks to hone in on some of what Fortnite is doing. The Doja Cat avatars coincide with the “re-premiere” of Doja Cat: The Scarlet Tour in VR, running now through May 5 in Music Valley using Meta Quest. With a 180-degree field of view experience, Meta Quest is offering fans a front-row ticket to free immersive music concerts like Doja Cat’s.
“Expressing myself through style, fashion, and art is incredibly important to me,” said Doja Cat. “My goal has always been to create a deeper connection with my fans, and this new avatar for Meta Horizon Worlds allows me to do just that. I couldn’t be more excited to share it with them.”
In addition to the avatars, the Music Valley merch shop features four Doja Cat t-shirts for your avatar to wear. Users who tune into the VR concert for at least 10 minutes will also receive a Doja Cat-themed emote. Afterward, fans can check out virtual performances from other artists, such as Charli XCX, Troye Sivan, Raye, and Blackpink.
While the idea of celebrities as purchasable avatars is far from new, Doja Cat is the first music celebrity available from Meta. Previously, the company released a Captain America avatar back in February based on Sam Wilson’s portrayal of the character. Meanwhile, Epic Games’ Fortnite has released tons of musician-themed avatars in the past, with the latest being Sabrina Carpenter.
It’s worth mentioning that Meta’s Fantastical Avatars only exist in Horizon Worlds—they won’t appear in other apps that use the Meta Avatars functionality, such as GOLF+ and Eleven Table Tennis.

Deep in the eastern Coachella Valley, where the suburban landscape dissolves into the arid, sand-covered grounds, thumping basslines echo through the night sky as glowing lasers emerge in the distance.
This vignette may sound like a description from a renegade Southern California desert party in the late 90s, but it's actually a portrayal of a current post-Coachella event series, Framework in the Desert.
Daniela Becerra
Already in its fourth iteration, Framework in the Desert harkens back to the free-spirited nature of raves past while applying contemporary productions all within a unique desert locale.
Curated by revered LA promoter Framework, the trio of after-hours events centers around the first weekend of Coachella. Held inside an airport hangar, the venue is mere minutes from the storied Empire Polo Fields, attracting festival attendees and acting as a final hoorah for those looking to extend their evening deep into the morning.
Having already gained notoriety for producing events in uncommon spaces, this year's event welcomed over 14,000 guests throughout the weekend, eclipsing previous attendance records. In doing so, Framework in the Desert has emerged as the premier Coachella afterparty series.
Daniela Becerra
For 2025, Framework introduced a new stage, the Long Feng Art Car. As part of a recent addition within Burning Man, the art installation was the centerpiece of the three-night run, featuring moving dragon heads, aerial dancers, lasers, fog machines and LED panels. The art car, paired alongside the high-caliber talent that performed within it, created a unique "you-had-to-be-there" musical experience.
Speaking of talent, the walls within the airport hangar consistently reverberated for three consecutive nights as the thumping sounds of house and techno escaped from the speakers.
Daniela Becerra
EDM.com class of 2025 stars Layton Giordiani and Max Styler, alongside Francis Mercier, deadmau5, Mau P and Interplanetary Criminal, all took turns performing atop the Long Feng Art Car.
Standout performances include Alesso's BODY HI project and house music superstar Chris Lake, who brought out his Anti-Up duo collaborator Chris Lorenzo for a surprise b2b performance.
Daniela Becerra
The performances were able to be enjoyed by fans in both indoor and outdoor settings, where aircraft from the attached airport were on display. Additionally, VIP experiences were hosted by Wynn Nightlife and featured exclusive seating, dedicated bottle service, prime artist sightlines, and the elevated guest service the brand is known for.
As they approach their fifth year in the desert, Framework has proven they can deliver top-tier productions in stand-out settings. With record-breaking crowds in 2025, we're thinking it's time for a second weekend in 2026.

Media conglomerate Ziff Davis is suing OpenAI for copyright infringement. The suit alleges that OpenAI “intentionally and relentlessly” exploited Ziff Davis’s copyrighted content to train its AI models without authorization or compensation.
Ziff Davis is one of the largest digital publishers in the U.S., overseeing more than 45 media brands and employing 3,800 people. The brand’s gaming portfolio includes some of the biggest sites in the gaming ecosystem, including IGN, GameSpot, GameFAQs, Humble Bundle, and Eurogamer. The conglomerate is also responsible for brands like PCMag, Mashable, Lifehacker, CNET, RetailMeNot, and others.
According to the complaint, OpenAI allegedly ignored explicit instructions to keep its web crawlers off Ziff Davis sites and even stripped copyright notices from the content it aggregated. Ziff Davis claims that OpenAI’s use of its content in training datasets resulted in ChatGPT generating ‘identical reproductions’ and derivative works, undermining the publisher’s ability to monetize its articles while harming the brands’ reputations.
The Ziff Davis lawsuit is part of a growing wave of legal actions taken by media companies, authors, and artists challenging AI companies over the use of copyrighted materials in training data. In the music industry, publishers and artists alike have raised alarms about AI models ingesting and reproducing copyrighted lyrics, melodies, and recordings.
Recent court decisions, such as a federal judge denying music publishers’ requests to block Anthropic from using copyrighted lyrics, highlight the unsettled nature of this legal frontier. If Ziff Davis prevails in this lawsuit, it could set a precedent requiring AI companies to obtain licenses or compensate rights-holders—potentially reshaping how AI interacts with news, music, and other creative industries.
The case mirrors one against Meta where court documents show that Meta researchers downloaded over 81.7 terabytes of books and research papers from online shadow libraries like LibGen and Anna’s Archive. Internal communications revealed that Meta executives were aware of the legal and ethical risks associated with obtaining licensed content from pirate sources. They attempted to conceal their piracy by avoiding the use of Facebook servers for downloads and minimized the digital footprint of their actions. CEO Mark Zuckerberg reportedly approved the use of these illicit datasets.

Known for his feel-good sound and global festival anthems, Sam Feldt has become a staple in the world of dance music. We caught up with him at Ultra Music Festival in Miami a few weeks ago to talk new music, touring life, and what’s next:
How did you get your start in the music industry? How did you discover EDM?
Sam Feldt: It was through a song that you probably know called “Show Me Love” by Robin S. The first time I heard that song I thought to myself, “this song has a really nice beat, what is this music?” So I did some research and discovered house music.
What’s funny is- “Show Me Love” originally released in 1993- which is the year I was born in. Fast forward several years, and I got my first big break for my remix of that song on Spinning Records. I really felt like the stars aligned for me in that moment and with this song. I’ve been releasing music ever since, and even have my own label now Heartfeldt.
LISTEN HEREWhat are you looking forward to most this year in your career?
I have a new album coming out very soon- and I even teased a song or two from it during my set at Ultra Miami. I also have a full summer tour ahead, including some big festivals like EDC Korea and Tomorrowland.
What is your favorite show or festival that you have ever played?
I would say Coachella is still #1 for me. I played there twice actually, but my very first time there we didn’t rehearse. I had my saxophone player with me then, and also a live singer from one of my latest singles. I told them, “F*** it, let’s figure it out as we go”. So we just jammed the whole time- it was incredible. It was 3pm and the Sahara Tent was insanely packed. I’ll always remember that set.
If I were to hand you the aux right now, what song what you put on?
Right now I’m really into remixes- especially the remixes I’ve been working on for my new album. A lot of the tracks on there have a future tropical house remix feel to them- so that’s kind of the genre that I’m claiming this year. I really have been craving melodies lately, especially after the whole tech house and techno wave. I feel that people have been looking for the euphoria feeling that those types of songs bring, so that’s what I’ve been listening to and have been trying to bring into my new album.
What artist/band would your dream collaboration be with?
I’ve always said Paul McCartney– and I still think so to this day. He’s still doing shows and rocking out and I think he is such a great performer, songwriter, instrumentalist, and artist. I went to his show in London back in December and it was the best time. I would love to get in the studio with him someday.
Who is your favorite DJ right now?
From a technical standpoint, I would have to say Don Diablo. I really admire him because he’s been able to mix so many genres together so effortlessly. It takes some serious skill to do that. I’d love to do a B2B with him someday.

A new survey has revealed that 93 per cent of music fans in the UK would back a ÂŁ1 ticket levy on large scale events and arena shows to support grassroots music venues amid ongoing closures.
The survey, conducted by Music Fans’ Voice, collected responses from 8,000 music fans across varying genres (with rock being the most popular type of music the group attend gigs for), aged 18 and above.
READ MORE: Over 60% of emerging producers and DJs feel “the electronic music industry is a closed club”, with social media presence prevailing over skill 99 per cent of participants agreed that live music is an important part of UK culture, and 30 per cent said they visit a grassroots venue monthly. As for larger venues, these are attended less regularly, with 27 per cent saying they visit an arena less than once a year. A large number of respondents also said they “never” attend nightclubs.
58 per cent of fans said they have witnessed the closure of a locally important music venue or nightclub since 2020, and the same percentage of participants also said that more local events would enable them to attend more gigs, with transportation costs preventing people from attending venues.
For those who said they have been attending less live music events compared to a year ago, the high cost of tickets was the main reason why, with 64 respondents citing this as an issue. The general cost of living and frustrations with dynamic pricing on tickets also fall closely behind as reasons why fans are not able to attend as many gigs as they once did. Only 11 per cent of those who have experienced a ticket price surge due to the dynamic pricing model agreed that the concept of surge pricing was effectively communicated to them beforehand.
Last year it was revealed that the UK government was planning to look into the “transparency” of dynamic ticket pricing. It was also later revealed it was planning to tackle ticket touts by potentially introducing a price cap on resale websites.

Alesso’s career as a DJ and music producer comes as no surprise to us. He rose to fame during the EDM explosion. We’ve followed him throughout the years across continents and music festival stages. In an interview with PAPER magazine, Alesso sat down with Felicity Martin for some insight on his “hell of a journey”. From his recent health struggles with tinnitus and his future plans, and a little on his newest track ‘Surrender‘ with Becky Hill. The article also touches on his personal life, including his engagement, which led him to prioritize his health and adjust his lifestyle. Despite these challenges, Alesso remains focused on his music, with upcoming performances and new releases planned.
Now, he reflects on his early days, including mentorship from Swedish House Mafia’s Sebastian Ingrosso and touring with Madonna. He also talks about the evolution of dance music and the increasing scale of productions. Recently, Alesso launched his own label, Body Hi, to support emerging artists and explore more underground sounds.
Additionally, he talks about his Ultra performance as a “retina-blasting spectacle” with flames and fireworks. Remember that nostalgic mix of 2010s progressive house and trance, with Nadia Ali for their 2011 hit ‘Pressure‘ remix? He also incorporated remixes of classic tracks, bridging older and newer sounds, as well as underground and mainstream styles. When it comes to business, he had the look. His slicked-back hair and monochrome designer outfits and we followed his various endorsements and luxurious travel experiences on social media.
At age 20, his mentorship with Swedish House Mafia, whom he greatly admired, was true surrealism. He recalls waking up every day with a smile due to these experiences and connecting with the right people at a young age. But with a 10 out of 10 struggle with tinnitus, Alesso has dramatically reduced his show schedule. What’s more, he mentions not having consumed alcohol in five months as part of his efforts to optimize his well-being. His recent engagement to girlfriend, model Erin Cummins, at Lake Como last year shows how great things are truly becoming for the DJ. He remains private about specific wedding plans but confirms he will not be DJing at his own wedding (ha!).
He touches on the evolution of DJing, contrasting how his early days went. From well-prepared sets to massive LED screens, production, and immersive environments. It was like “stepping into another planet.” He also points out that dance music has shifted from being considered “weird” to becoming a widely accepted genre. And on a humble note, Alesso considers it incredible to have been part of the electronic music scene in the US during its major wave from an underground phenomenon to mainstream popularity. He felt it was a dream to play festivals in the US as a 19-year-old, something many European artists aspire to.

The European Commission is now reviewing the proposed Universal Music Group buyout of Downtown Music Holdings. Photo Credit: Guillaume PĂŠrigois
Following ample competition-related criticism and a couple investigation referrals, the European Commission has moved “to examine” Universal Music Group’s proposed Downtown buyout.
The EU executive arm just recently made the inquiry official, weeks after receiving the mentioned referrals from competition watchdogs in the Netherlands and Austria.
As we noted at the time, these regulatory concerns didn’t necessarily mean that a full-fledged investigation was in the cards. However, they did arrive on the heels of considerable pushback from organizations including IMPALA, a vocal critic of “UMG’s juggernaut strategy.”
Evidently, the indie sector’s opposition and the referrals were enough to spur action from the Commission, which believes the $775 million buyout “threatens to significantly affect competition” in the music world.
“In particular,” the European Commission wrote, “the transaction threatens to significantly affect competition in certain markets of the music value chain, where both companies are active, in Austria and in the Netherlands, as well as in many other Member States.
“The Commission has therefore concluded that it is best placed to examine the transaction,” the EC proceeded. “The Commission has asked UMG to notify the transaction. UMG cannot implement the transaction before notifying and obtaining clearance from the Commission.”
It probably doesn’t need saying, but especially in light of the EU’s aggressive regulatory approach, it’ll be interesting to see how the investigation plays out. Per the Commission, updates will be posted to its register (case number M.11956 here) moving forward.
More immediately, Universal Music in a statement said it remains confident that the Downtown purchase (which the major initially announced in mid-December 2024) will wrap “in the second half of the year, on its original timeline.”
IMPALA and its members, on the other hand, applauded the development and doubled down on a push for a separate investigation across the pond.
“The news about the EU shows the way for other jurisdictions to intervene,” AIM CEO Gee Davy reiterated in part. “We call on the UK to follow, given the importance of the music market to the UK economy.”
Meanwhile, with the Commission’s investigation now in motion, IMPALA executive chair Helen Smith took things a step further by calling for the UMG-Downtown deal to be “blocked entirely.”
“Like any sector,” Smith relayed in part, “the music market needs big companies of course, as we already flagged, there is simply a point at which big is too big. In this case, UMG clearly exceeded the maximum even before adding Downtown. This deal must be blocked entirely.”

Tried, tested, and given the thumbs up by crowds worldwide, Konstantin Sibold and Adam Sellouk’s ‘Day ‘N’ Night’ aims to impact even bigger stages via its release on Armada Music. Pushed into a whole new dimension by pairing the lyrics with a potent, club-centric production, this take on the Kid Cudi classic is set to culminate the past two years of boundless hype.
Konstantin Sibold & Adam Sellouk – ‘Day ‘N’ Night’
After Kid Cudi’s thumbs-up, the remix is now an official dancefloor rocker. Sibold and Sellouk’s signature sounds embellish the track, breathing new life into it. Moreover, the melodic spin adds depth and darkness to the track. ‘Day ‘N’ Night’ also counts with magical acid elements and new galloping kicks that change up the tempo and flow with new textures.
This marks the second collaboration between the two artists, having released their EP The Dusk & Dawn last year for Tomorrowland Music. Their chemistry is evident as both styles blend successfully in both releases. Furthermore, this is also the Armada debut for Sibold. Sellouk’s Armada Debut came in 2023 when he remixed Maxim Lany’s ‘Gravity’.
Konstantin Sibold
Since 2013, Sibold has redefined Melodic House and Techno with his versatility and originality. His remix for Rebuke’s Along Came Polly charted #1 for Beatport’s Melodic House and Techno, and ranked Top 3 in the Overall Top 100. His tracks have gathered the support of industry giants such as Solomun, Fisher, Anyma, Armin van Buuren, and more.
Adam Sellouk
Adam Sellouk came in strong since his worldwide debut in 2021. The artist continuously releases on major labels such as Nora en Pure’s Purified, Anyma’s Afterlife, and ARTBAT’s Upperground. His musical blend and undeniable dedication to his craft continue to empower him on the dance music scene. It will be an exciting future for Sellouk.

Claude VonStroke, the iconic architect of North America’s underground dance music community, makes a long-anticipated return with the release of his new EP, I Was The Wolf. He also launches his “Life of Leisure” tour—both kicking off on April 25 at New York City’s Knockdown Center.

After selling his Dirtybird brand and stepping away from the spotlight for two years, VonStroke is back with a renewed sense of creative freedom. His latest work reflects this evolution. I Was The Wolf offers a darker, cinematic approach to his signature style. It balances Berlin-influenced minimal grooves with the sly, quirky atmosphere fans have come to love. The A-side, I Was The Wolf, taps into raw, moody expression. The B-side, Move With The Pack, wraps listeners in jazzy, immersive textures. It’s a bold, genre-blurring return from a producer who refuses to stand still.
The release party in New York marks the beginning of a carefully curated global tour, one that reflects VonStroke’s new ethos. He’s chosen venues with personal significance. It ranges from favorite clubs like CODA in Toronto and Space in Miami to major festivals like Lightning in a Bottle, Movement, and Osheaga. International stops are also planned, including nights at London’s KOKO and Berlin’s Panorama Bar.
I Was The Wolf will be available on all major streaming platforms on April 25, 2025. Pre-save here. To purchase tickets for the “Life of Leisure” tour, visit here.

‘Air’ continues GRYFFIN’s hot streak following ‘In My Head’ with Kaskade and his 2025 edit of Band of Horses’ ‘The Funeral’. Throughout his career, GRYFFIN has collaborated with contemporaries across the electronic spectrum. Last year, Armin van Buuren, Rita Ora, and Elderbrook appeared on his third studio album PULSE, while previous projects have included collaborations with Kygo, ILLENIUM, SLANDER, and OneRepublic. Aligning with bass music’s leading titan, ‘Air’ showcases GRYFFIN’s proclivity for heavier styles of dance music and innate ability to inject his melodic signature no matter the genre. ‘Air’ arrives in the midst of GRYFFIN’s headline PULSE: PHASE 2 Tour and ahead of festival appearances at Lollapalooza, Lost In Dreams, and more.
Following a heavy 2024 which included collaborations with Wooli & Ganja White Night, Dion Timmer, and Juelz, and his massive Nexus Tour, ‘Air’ serves as Excision’s first release of the year. Excision is in the midst of his own live run, with upcoming double-header headline takeovers at The Brooklyn Mirage in New York, SILO in Dallas, Echostage in DC, and 4-date residency at Wynn in Las Vegas. Excision will make festival appearances at EDC Las Vegas, Forbidden Kingdom, Shambhala, and more throughout the summer. Excision’s curated festivals will also return for the seventh edition of Bass Canyon in August and eighth edition of Lost Lands in September.

Two years can be an eternity in electronic music, but Claude VonStroke has returned as if he never left.
The Dirtybird label founder flew the coop back in 2023, announcing a hiatus from his VonStroke project to focus on his bass music alias, Barclay Crenshaw. But he's now back in full force with a new house EP, I Was the Wolf.
Released independently today, the project marks VonStroke's first original music since the fall of 2023. Featuring two tracks, it reaffirms why he remains an essential voice in house music's evolving conversation.
c/o Press
The titular "I Am the Wolf" is vintage VonStroke with chunky drums and wonky synth stabs. The track's thick, viscous bassline prowls beneath the surface with predatory intent, a fitting soundtrack for the EP's lupine theme.
"Move with the Pack" reveals VonStroke's more contemplative side. Here, jazzy keyboard flourishes drift across a hypnotic, loungey four-on-the-floor rhythm that wouldn't feel out of place in a smoke-filled Tokyo listening bar. The track breathes with remarkable restraint, suggesting he has spent his hiatus expanding his emotional palette.
Together, these tracks form a compelling statement from a producer who understands that true longevity comes not from chasing trends, but from periodically returning to your roots—and finding they've grown deeper in your absence.
In other VonStroke news, he recently announced a comeback tour, "Life of Leisure," which takes flight today at an I Was the Wolf release party at New York's Knockdown Center. The DJ has said he's debuting his "2.0 brand" by virtue of the tour, which is set to hit a number of his favorite venues and festivals, including Miami's Club Space, SoCal's Lightning in a Bottle and Detroit's iconic Movement.
You can listen to I Was the Wolf below and find the new EP on streaming platforms here.

A new mini synthesiser from this.is.NOISE inc., a boutique Canadian hardware company, promises to always be in key, and its OLED screen even features a built-in virtual pet.
The synth, called Gamma, is ready to be played “without the need for prior musical training”, as its seven chords and notes are mapped to a selectable diatonic scale so everything always sounds good together. And yes, you read that correctly – you can own a virtual pet right within Gamma, just like that Tamagotchi you let die back in the late 90s, and it will even evolve as you play.
READ MORE: “Designed not to deliver perfect results, but to encourage exploration”: Sampleson’s Predictor plugin generates new notes and voicings from any MIDI file The mini synth offers 14 low-profile keys for triggering notes and chords, two thumbsticks for real-time modulation, and four knobs for “precise” control over sound parameters. The thumbsticks offer on-the-fly access to octaves and effects – these include reverb, delay, detune, glide, tremolo, vibrato, and advanced chord variations like sus, 7th, and 9th chords.
Overall, it has 10 oscillators and four waveforms, plus an ADSR envelope, low and high pass filters, a key selection encoder for jumping between major and minor scales, and an on-board speaker. As for connectivity, it offers MIDI Out, an audio out/headphone jack, and rechargeable USB-C power.
Get a closer look below:

Gamma is currently in its final stages of development and will be available for pre-orders from 1 May. No pricing details appear available as of yet, but if you sign up for email alerts, you’ll get a $50 discount code emailed to you upon launch day.
In other gear news and on the soft synth side of things, Arturia has released V Collection 11, the latest instalment of its revered suite of plugins that emulate classic analogue synths and acoustic instruments. Along with a handful of new emulations, V Collection 11 also introduces new additions to Arturia’s Augmented series and a new synth, Pure LoFi.

Here’s to a magical Friday listening to a magical Trance piece.
What a year it’s been for Above & Beyond fans. After receiving the news of a new album, the release of its first single (praised worldwide and thought of as the trio’s true comeback after Lockdown), a Coachella performance in which Tony, Jono and Paavo performed together much like their yearly ABGTs (the only time they do so in the year), now we get a new single lifted from Bigger Than All Of Us, their upcoming LP.
And following the footsteps of ‘Quicksand (Don’t Go)’, the previously released piece, this one is also written and sung by one of the most iconic voices in Trance, Zoë Johnston, a vocalist who’s also lent her magical voice to projects from the likes of Faithless and Bent. Out today via Anjunabeats, ‘Carry Me Home‘ is a beautifully composed piece, which melts the heartstrings both instrumentally and lyrically.
‘Carry Me Home’
You really can’t go wrong with the A&BxZJ pairing. It’s proven to be among their most successful partnerships in all of the band’s 25 years of history, with worldwide hits — and defining A&B anthems — such as ‘Good For Me’ from their debut album Tri-State, ‘We’re All We Need’, the lead single from their 2015 album fittingly named We Are All We Need, and even their first-ever work together, ‘No One On Earth’, from 2004.
If ‘Quicksand’ tells the heartbreaking story of having to accept the inevitable loss of a loved one in their last moments, ‘Carry Me Home’ uplifts your spirit, singing the tale of that person who comes to your life to put the colours in the canvas you’ve drawn out of your experiences. The track talks about that special someone who, as the lyrics say, lifts you up.
And the bed the words lie down in this time is also very uplifting to all of us who look back at the 80s as a period of golden music and joyful nostalgia: ‘Carry Me Home’ follows the path Above & Beyond took when writing their 2021 single with Justine Suissa, ‘Almost Home’. With an approach that is perhaps less “Big-Roomey” than other productions of theirs, this track centres itself around a very catchy vocal hook to get you singing, and its instruments portray a very eighties-inspired layout, with a large snare, eighth notes for a bass pattern, warm analogue elements, and acoustic guitar fills. It’s a lovely blend of everything we love: the emotion-packed nature of the Trance trio, and the sounds of, perhaps, the greatest decade of music. Come fight me.

Chicago’s legendary TRAX Records, is hitting a monumental milestone: its 40th anniversary. To celebrate four decades of groundbreaking beats and influence, the label is dropping “RISING AGAIN (TRX2620)“, a limited-edition vinyl release (only 500 copies worldwide) curated by executive producer Pi Rho, who dedicated two years to bringing this project to life. Pi Rho assembled a global collective of artists, each bringing their unique musical perspective to the table in the release. Link to purchase is here.
Since its arrival in 1985, TRAX Records has consistently delivered hit after hit, shaping the soundscape of dance music through the visionary work of pioneers like Frankie Knuckles, Larry Heard, DJ Pierre, Marshall Jefferson, Ron Hardy, Phuture, Mr. Fingers, Joe Smooth, Paul Johnson, Jamie Principle, and the label’s current driving force, Screamin’ Rachael. Notably, Screamin’ Rachael’s iconic vocals feature prominently on every track of “RISING AGAIN,” putting history on display through the new sounds.
The creation of “RISING AGAIN” is an innovative blend of classic artistry and cutting-edge innovation. At Denger Studio in Marseille, France, award-winning sound engineer Gerald Kuentz, with the assistance of Greg Lion and Jacques Lavoisier, meticulously mixed and mastered the record on a vintage Neve console, utilizing classic synthesizers and microphones to capture that authentic house sound. Adding a truly unique dimension, the project incorporates groundbreaking neurotechnology. Through a brain-computer interface powered by gen-AI, developed by Inclusive Brains (initially designed to aid people with disabilities in mind-controlling devices), unique sound textures were generated directly from the brainwaves of Lion and Lavoisier.
Here’s what Pi Rho had to say:
“It’s been an amazing journey producing ‘Rising Again’ for the 40th anniversary of TRAX Records. What makes this extra special for me is that it’s more than just music—it’s a collection of friendships, each with its unique story. In celebrating four decades of TRAX Records, I wanted to bring together artists from around the world to showcase how big a global movement house music is, while honoring its roots in my hometown of Chicago. I’m thrilled to have collaborated with everyone to release music on vinyl at TRAX for the first time in over 10 years! Celebrating such a major milestone with an iconic red-labeled vinyl only felt appropriate. This marks a new chapter. TRAX is rising again!”

Designer, photographer, and beatmaker Le Ghost has crafted the artwork for this limited vinyl release, marking his debut in record cover and inner sleeve design. He respectfully integrated TRAX Records’ iconic red color with a contemporary twist, seamlessly blending the label’s storied past with its dynamic future. The release also benefits from an eco-friendly pressing thanks to an innovative vinyl manufacturing process at the Object Manufacturing plant in Berlin (Germany), which favors materials and production methods that support sustainable development.

RISING AGAIN is a non-profit release. In partnership with the DJs4good movement (launched in 2016 to engage DJs with social impact projects), all proceeds will be given to SocialWorks, a Chicago-based organization founded by Grammy-Award-winning musician and humanitarian Chance the Rapper to empower youth through the arts, education, and civic engagement.

Neumann may have just changed the game for producers and mixing engineers working with immersive audio. The company’s new plug-in, RIME – which stands for Reference Immersive Monitoring Environment – allows users to monitor and tweak immersive audio formats using a pair of headphones.
If you’re unable to get into the studio, RIME is able to emulate a multichannel speaker setup. Designed to work exclusively with Neumann headphones, the plug-in converts multichannel formats to binaural audio. In theory, it makes it easier for producers to monitor Dolby Atmos, for example, if they’re working on the go.
READ MORE: Shure’s MV7i USB mic might be your go-to audio interface for mobile recording RIME is easy to use, as it places your track within a single reference room that you can see on your screen. You can then see where each speaker is in the room, and experiment with audio levels emitted from each corner of the immersive set up.
The studio room captures the genuine ambience and feel of a real, purpose-built studio room. Neumann engineers captured the sound with an immersive setup of Neumann KH loudspeakers and subwoofers, which were then fine-tuned using MA 1 automatic monitor alignment. The three-dimensional sound field was captured with a KU 100 binaural head microphone, which was then ran through Neumann’s MT 48 audio interface.
According to Neumann, this setup should ensure “pristine sound quality throughout the entire signal chain”.
The plug-in also supports OSC compatible head tracker devices, meaning it is able to respond to a listener’s head movements during playback. As Neumann explains, the technology doesn’t just benefit producers and audio professionals – it also allows casual listeners to enjoy a surround-sound listening experience.
“RIME is not a simulation but captures an optimal control room in ultimate quality” Product Manager Jorma Marquardt explains. “RIME sounds real, because it is real!”
“Immersive audio is the new standard,” he continues. “Streaming services favour content that can be enjoyed in spatial audio formats such as Dolby Atmos or Sony 360 Reality. More and more DAWs now offer immersive audio capabilities. Engineers, producers, and musicians alike are eager to explore these new possibilities. Reliable monitoring is essential for this.”
“With RIME, we’re offering an integrated solution that meets these evolving needs. It provides a more cost-effective and mobile alternative to loudspeaker-based monitoring solutions. Our NDH headphones have the same carefully balanced sound as our studio KH studio monitors, making it easy to switch between the two. With RIME this unique benefit extends to immersive monitoring as well.”
RIME is available now for ÂŁ85, with the option of a 14-day free trial. It is compatible with all major DAWs on Mac and PC.

German DJ and producer Loco Dice is back, delivering his latest single, ‘G Class,’ featuring one of Italy’s finest rappers, Guè. Hot on the heels of a jam-packed Miami Music Week and Coachella, ‘G Class’ brings Dice back to his roots and stands as the latest edition to his rapidly expanding musical landscape. Following a string of successful tracks, including ‘Juice’ with Trinidad James & The Martinez Brothers and ‘Ice Cold Dealer’ featuring Haftbefehl, ‘G Class’ is another step toward solidifying Loco Dice’s place at the forefront of genre-defying dance music, this time driving full-force into the world of Italian hiphop and rap.

His verses tell the story of a lifestyle built on hustle, power, and resilience, reflecting the journey of those who have risen to the top against all odds. It’s an exhilarating lyrical performance blended with top-notch production, that stays hard-hitting while bringing warmth and vibrancy.
Guè’s contribution to ‘G Class’ strengthens Loco Dice’s presence in the Italian hip-hop scene. As a revered figure in Italy’s rap community, Guè brings a striking energy to the track, perfectly complementing Dice’s signature sound. Don Diablo is "entering a new era" of his influential record label, HEXAGON.
Today's release of his new single "Freek Like Me" doesn't just commemorate 10 years of HEXAGON. His revitalized label signals an evolving shift in direction, musically, creatively and culturally. What once started as a future house imprint built from a #1 Beatport remix has now matured into a full-scale reset, one Diablo dubs "HEXAGON 2.0."
"This is a new chapter where every release is more intentional, more meaningful," Diablo said. "From a musical perspective, I’m going back to the essence—combining the classic house sounds I grew up with and futuristic sound design. I call it 'NeoNostalgia.'"
"We're entering a new era where quality needs to win over quantity," Diablo said. "'Freek Like Me' marks the start of HEXAGON 2.0, a new chapter where every release is more intentional, more meaningful and designed to truly connect with people, not just feed the algorithms."
"From a musical perspective, I'm going back to the essence, combining the classic house sounds I grew up with and futuristic sound design," Diablo continued. "I call it 'NeoNostalgia.'"
Diablo's concept of NeoNostalgia is emblematic of a philosophy shaped by his decade-long journey in building HEXAGON, a platform that has grown into a launchpad for both chart-toppers and underground innovators alike.
As the first transmission from this new chapter, "Freek Like Me" explodes with personality, driven by thick, vocoder-laced vocals and earworm hooks that make it feel instantly familiar. Piano stabs channel the euphoric soul of '90s club culture while the percussion churns with an edge—an aesthetic nod to the early warehouse days of house. It’s this deliberate blend of grit and gloss that gives the track its character.
You can listen to "Freek Like Me" below.
