MPORT Drops Nostalgic Bass-Filled EP ‘Scene Selections’

Fred Again.. Announces New Album Titled ‘Ten Days’

One of the biggest artists on the scene has just announced that his new album will be released in less than two months. One of the biggest post-pandemic sensations, Fred Again.. is ready to turn the dance music scene around again. ‘Ten Days’, Fred Again..’s newest album will come out on the sixth of September.
By now, there’s hardly anyone left who’s somewhat related to the dance music scene who does now know the name “Fred Again..”. The DJ and producer has made a massive mark both as a musician and a performer over the past couple of years. Fred’s project managed to hit a perfect target when it comes to today’s generation’s musical preferences. He’s brought together sounds from genres that dominate both the commercial and the underground scene, and gave them his very own spin.
‘Ten Days’
Fred Again..’s latest album features quite the artistic cast. Anderson .PAAK, Four Tet, and Skrillex are just some of the names on this list. Defined as a more personal, intimate album, this will be a new chapter in the London-based artist’s career. Through a post on Instagram, the man behind ‘Rumble’ and ‘Delilah’ commented on his upcoming album.
Speaking on the album, Fred says:
“My new record is called ten days.
 It’s ten songs about ten days.
There’s been a lot of big mad crazy moments in the last year but basically all of these are about really very small quiet intimate moments.”
We’re certainly excited about this one. So far, Fred Again..’s proven he’s not only a hype name. There’s a lot to his artistic depth and project. A new album is always a chance to tell a new story or to open a new chapter. And this one’s coming from one of our favorite storytellers.

Gryffin Sharpens Creative Instincts On Genre-Spanning Album, "PULSE"

As the DNA of dance music continues to evolve, Gryffin has found his pulse once again with his third album.

VNTM releases ’Discharge’ including the full STEMS

Already and heavyweight in the techno industry, VNTM needs no introduction. From the canal city of Amsterdam, the artist brings us back to the golden era of melodic techno with Discharge.
Having a name for himself with releases such as Dark Knight in 2020 and being featured on Afterlife as well, VNTM in 2023 launched a new project: Open Source. The aim is to release, not only the original mix but also the complete stems of the track.
But what are the stems? Stems are a type of audio file that breaks down a complete track into individual mixes. This allows creators to control each of the particular mixes for its production. usually, they separated in melody, drums, vocal, and baseline but VNTM with his Open Source project went above and beyond.
Discharge‘s stems include the whole production, from the main lead to the atmospheric sounds. In total, you have the 29 different audio tracks that make up the song.
VNTM’s Open Source Project includes 12 releases on every first Friday of the next 12 months. We are now at release number 9.
Thomas van de Ven, aka VNTM, has recently played at Tomorrowland at the Afterlife stage, delivering an energy-packed performance.

Amsterdam Dance Event (ADE), the world’s largest festival and business gathering for electronic music, today reveals the first wave of confirmed artists for ADE 2024. Among the confirmed artists to perform are Benga, Brutalismus 3000, FJAAK, Four Tet, Honey Dijon, Indira Paganotto, Jeff Mills, KlangKuenstler, Major League DJz, Marlon Hoffstadt, Martin Garrix, Miss Monique, Peggy Gou, Rebekah, and The Martinez Brothers.
Over 300 artists and DJs have now been confirmed throughout 100+ events, marking the first 10% milestone of the ADE program — including special concerts by Awakenings Upclose, over 20 events at A’DAM Toren, a packed DGTL roster with 7 events, Tomorrowland presents Our Story, alongside AMF, HE.SHE.THEY., Into the Woods, Verknipt, straf_werk, Loveland, Speedy J’s STOOR, Dave Clarke presents, and much much more.

Do you want to pick up a musical instrument? It can be tricky to pick one to learn, as there are so many beautiful instruments out there that all have their own benefits. Some are more sought out by bands than others, some are harder than the average instrument, and some offer a great solo-playing experience. One musical instrument you should consider is the bass guitar. It’s an impactful, important part of music, offering a framework for the entire song, including a steady rhythm. It might not take center stage in the same way as a guitar, but learning it is undoubtedly an excellent decision – here are five reasons why.
1. It’s Relatively Easy to Get Started
While playing the bass can never be called easy – especially if you want to play at an expert level – it can be said that it’s pretty easy to get started. Getting to grips with some root notes and honing your rhythm can be enough to play in time with others, adding the necessary bass to bring the music together. Plus, there are ways to make bass playing even easier, including bass tabs. These tabs offer a more simplified method of learning the bass compared to sheet music, as they offer visualized learning – basically, they show you exactly where to place your fingers at each moment. Secret Garden Party Concludes Final Event With Iconic Spectacle

On Saturday, July 27th, Secret Garden Party‘s 2024 Roots Edition delivered an unprecedented show which perfectly encapsulated their creative contribution and legacy. After 25 years, the Secret Garden Party announced to festival-goers that this would be their final year in its current guise, marking their farewell and the end of an era not only for SGP but for the countless festival-goers who have attended over the years. 
In true SGP style, the spectacle conveyed a deeper message to fans, culminating in a state-of-the-art drone show, designed by Celestial in collaboration with SGP, a creative production of founder Fred Fellowes and Secret Design’s Nick Carter, titled ‘Creativity Unchained.’ This was followed by a ‘That’s Showbiz, Baby’ extravaganza, produced by SGP in collaboration with Acme FX and Immersive International.
The spectacle underscored the impact of corporate takeovers and greed, which have made it difficult for independent events and artists to thrive in today’s scene. It delivered a powerful message to inspire, protect, and preserve creative expression from corruption and the stranglehold of major players in the music industry. The extravaganza peaked in spectacular fashion, with the symbolic ‘Burning of the Main Stage,’ an urgent call for immediate change, signifying that from the ashes, something new will grow in the garden.
This year’s event was a true showcase of collaboration, with independent festivals and event promoters uniting in support. Shindig, NTIA, Cirque du Soul, and many others provided additional backing in the weeks leading up to SGP. Ren’s fans from Australia to the USA purchased and donated tickets to those who couldn’t afford to attend. This has become a global movement to save our music scene, demonstrating the love and unity of people rooting for a cause that matters deeply to them through positive connection and creative self expression.
Following the recent international festival crisis, Secret Garden Party will undergo a transformation this year which is set to redefine the festival model, emphasising the need for collaboration and unity amongst independent organisers. In response to the increasing number of venue closures and festival cancellations, Secret Garden Party aims to foster a collective effort by inviting other events and promoters to the SGP site in the festival’s absence, to join in their vision with an aim to revitalise and strengthen the festival scene together.
Fred Fellowes – Head Gardener & Founder highlights: “At this point, we’ve said everything that needs to be said. We’ve done what we said we would do. That’s the party we created, and that speaks for itself.”
Reflecting on the successful event, the programming and performances were hailed as groundbreaking. Ren’s first show in five years was a resounding success, featuring a two-part, two-hour performance by the award-winning artist. The show included live strings, theatrical performances, and a unique collaboration with Chinchilla and Romain Axisa joining Ren on stage. 
The Secret Garden Party’s final soiree upheld their reputation as purveyors of all things curious, with an eclectic schedule that featured something for everyone looking to unwind and let loose. From the LED hula-hooping of the fire show and midnight playground to the life drawing class in the Bohemian Artist Studio and Mermaid school on the swimming lake, there were plenty of options for those looking to stimulate the senses.
And while this year’s festival saw them commit to the Drop a Headliner campaign, a movement launched to support independent artists, there were plenty of exciting acts and standout performances, including impromptu sets from more familiar faces such as Plump DJs in the Oasis. 
As far as encores go, SGP’s was one that will live long in the memory as they continue to strive for a united, sustainable festival scene moving forward.

RÜFÜS DU SOL drop new song “Lately”, “Music is Better” followup

RÜFÜS DU SOL continues to push boundaries with one new song after the other. If you hadn’t enough of them, after the highly acclaimed Music is Better and the remix package, released just some months ago, the trio is back with the follow-up. Lately is ethereal and mixes soft and romantic vibes with more mysterious harmonies.
It is out now via Rose Avenue/Warner Records. It also features the official music video, out on YouTube.
The follow-up to the group’s latest single “Music is Better,” “Lately” sees the band continue to roll out their first new music since their 2021 Grammy-nominated album, Surrender.
“Lately” lends itself to RÜFÜS’ indie inclinations. The new song balances the club rhythms, intricate sound design, and heartfelt songwriting. It continues to soundtrack the highs and lows of their fans’ most pivotal life moments.

For the readers of our website, Lauren Mia is not a new name. She released her debut album not long ago on RE:BIRTH and in 2022 he released her first independent tune Ohm.

EDMTunes New Music Friday – Week 31

Above & Beyond and PROFF – Fractals
Genre: Organic House
Ever since legendary trio Above & Beyond hosted the Anjunadeep Edition 500 mix, and announced their Deep Set at Finsbury Park, also for Anjunadeep, we knew something was up. Only we didn’t know it was a double A-sider with one of the most infectiously-sounding producers in the Deep range, longtime friend PROFF.
Out of the two tracks, ‘Palermo’ and ‘Fractals’, we decided to pick the latter for our NMF feature. ‘Fractals‘ is a daring piece of tribal-esque Organic House which plays with out-of-sync, Euclidean rhythms and arpeggios, and an irresistible groove. We can surely hear the influence of all artists involved, and we just can’t get enough of it. Tony would say, “Mmmmmmm“.
Disciples & Delilah – If I Stay
Genre: House, Progressive House
Great news for the Dance world happened this week, as Dance music group Disciples came back. The hit-making trio, coauthors, for example, ‘How Deep Is Your Love’, one of the most summery anthems EDM has offered, released a new anthem just yesterday, ‘If I Stay’, alongside gifted vocalist Delilah.
Disciples’ comeback tune is built from the ground up over machine-programmed closed hats, then slowly unveiling an evolving atmosphere, warm and cosy, while at the same time introducing the offbeat rhythms the band are known for. It’s a harder, yet still highly melodic piece of House bliss, and it nods to their essence while moving in a new direction.

Malóne, CJ Jeff, Ellivia – Missing (Back To You)

We’ve been digging the Malóne sound quite a bunch over here. And today we got yet another one of his, with a touch of nostalgia that has us pressing the replay button over and over again. He just joined forces with CJ Jeff and Ellivia to unveil ‘Missing (Back To You)’, a fresh take on the 1994 classic Everything But The Girl singalong ‘Missing’.
Released via Spinnin’ Deep, it’s got the best of all worlds, since it features incredible groove over melodic, warm musical beds, and tops it all off with the sensual voice of Ellivia. The Afro-House leaning tune represents the return of the long-gone singalong legend that is the original ‘Missing’. Now we’re able to enjoy hearing a fresh new version at clubs and festivals and, why not, beaches at sunset.
Wehbba – Revelation
Genre: Techno (Peak-Time)
Wehbba made his highly anticipated return to Drumcode this week with the release of his Awaken EP. It had been eighteen months since his last EP on the label, so the anticipation for the Brazilian producer was through the roof. A two-tracker of sorts, it included the title track, ‘Awaken’, and the B-side, ‘Revelation‘.
‘Revelation’ takes listeners on a journey through trippy Techno landscapes, incorporating Eastern scales and drawing influence from ritualistic ceremonies of Middle Eastern and South Asian cultures. The track is a testament to Wehbba’s ability to blend different musical elements and create a unique sonic experience that is both captivating and hypnotic.

Genre: Progressive House, Dance Pop

Tomorrowland Reports 8.4M Euro Profit For 2023 Edition

The world’s largest Dance music festival revealed its numbers for the past year — and to say they’re good doesn’t cut it.
WeAreOne.World, the company behind the world-famous Tomorrowland festival, reported a net profit of €8.4 million in 2023. While this is lower than the exceptional €24 million earned in 2022 (which included an extra festival weekend to compensate for pandemic years), it’s a significant improvement over 2019’s pre-pandemic profit of €4.6 million — value which is more comparable to 2023 than 2022 is, due to that extra weekend.
The company’s overall revenue in 2023 reached €129 million, down from €164 million in 2022 due to the absence of the additional festival weekend. However, compared to 2019’s €112 million, the revenue indicates a healthy post-pandemic recovery.
Expansion, Diversification And Growth
WeAreOne.World is leveraging the fame of Tomorrowland to expand its reach. This includes organizing sister festivals in the French Alps and Brazil (Tomorrowland Winter and Brasil), along with events and activities in various countries like Colombia, Mexico, and Dubai (such as the CORE events). The company is also exploring Thailand as a potential future location for a Tomorrowland edition, as we’ve talked about in the past.
Beyond festivals and events, WeAreOne.World is diversifying its business ventures. They have established business units dedicated to music (the Tomorrowland Music record label), artist management, fashion, media (radio and fantasy books), and the Tomorrowland DJ Academy, which aims to cultivate new DJ talent.
As for the profits generated, WeAreOne.World plans to reinvest most of it for future growth. This includes relocating to a new office in Antwerp and further developing its various projects. The company emphasizes that the success of Tomorrowland serves as a springboard for their broader expansion plans.
Finally, it’s a good thing to note the economic impact of Tomorrowland on the local Belgian economy. The 2023 festival involved over 1,200 Belgian suppliers, generating an estimated 557 jobs and €37 million in additional economic activity for the region. Additionally, the event is estimated to have contributed to a €281 million increase in overall economic activity and the creation of 1,900 full-time jobs.

Malóne, CJ Jeff And Ellivia Revive 90s Anthem With ‘Missing (Back To You)’

Enjoy a refreshing take on a classic we’ve all sung our lungs out to.
What a way to kick off this Friday in style. We’ve been digging the Malóne sound quite a bunch over here, with tracks such as ‘Beef‘ alongside Jesse Bravo, and ‘Talk 2 Em Mate‘. And we’re excited to share yet another one of his, which, can only make us say: he doesn’t miss.
Today, the Club Space resident and label owner joined forces with Greek producer CJ Jeff and the gifted vocalist Ellivia to unveil ‘Missing (Back To You)’, a nod to the past with a taste of the present. The track is, of course, a fresh take on the 1994 classic Everything But The Girl singalong ‘Missing’.
Although the original version of the English duo was rather acoustic and laid-back, it quickly went viral back then with a spectacular spin by DJ Todd Terry, and his remix now stands as one of the most iconic tracks in House music.
‘Missing (Back To You)’
This is not CJ Jeff and Ellivia’s first gathering, as they worked on their debut collaboration ‘One Two Three’ last year, and released it via Spinnin’ Deep, the branch of Spinnin’ Records that also represents a home for ‘Missing (Back To You)’.
And it’s got the best of all worlds, since it features incredible groove over melodic, warm musical beds, and tops it all off with the sensual voice of Ellivia. The Afro-House leaning tune represents the return of the long-gone singalong legend that is the original ‘Missing’. Now we’re able to enjoy hearing a fresh new version at clubs and festivals and, why not, beaches at sunset.
Malóne opened up about his vision of the project, saying “We wanted to recreate this classic as properly as possible – a special vibe for the summer season, for all the beach clubs and open air vibes worldwide”. He added, “Afro House is one of the biggest sounds in the world right now, so we thought writing something in this lane and style was a great choice of action. ‘Missing (Back To You)’ is melodic with strong drums to create those truly unforgettable moments in a set and party. We are honored about this opportunity to rework such an amazing classic”.

‘Like This’
Simon’s latest is a vibrant track. It’s not your average strong Progressive Trance pick, but rather, a much more profound, and deeper take on it. It’s got those lovely warm basslines, shiny percussion, and captivating atmospheres, and it takes you on a journey that screams 2009 all throughout.
For some fans out there, this one sounds closer to a truly progressive Progressive Trance piece, making use of each element to portray a mature journey through the feels and the melodies. The icing on the cake is a beautiful vocal, which helps the listeners immerse themselves even more.

Following its lauded flagship celebration in Mannheim, today foremost electronic music institution Time Warp unveils its 30-year anniversary celebration in New York, in partnership with longstanding partner and events collective Teksupport. Taking place November 22-23, the event will see 21 artists perform over two nights across two floors of Brooklyn Navy Yard.
In line with Time Warp’s customarily deft approach to sonic curation, the New York celebration will see both new and established members of the Time Warp family perform. Amnesia Ibiza Announces Rare Two-Day Festival to Close 2024 Season

Come fall, Amnesia Ibiza will say goodbye to the 2024 season in what they hope will be their largest, most opulent bash yet.
The legendary club has revealed a rare two-day festival in lieu of its annual closing party, scheduled for October 11-12 across its extravagant mainstage and terrace deck. 
Performances by Ben Hemsley, Hannah Laing, Claptone and more will electrify Friday night, while Saturday will see a slew of joint DJ sets such as Adam Beyer b2b Marco Faraone and Hot Since 82 b2b Rossi. At the end of it all, Jamie Jones and Joseph Capriati will unite for an extended b2b set, ushering in Sunday's sublime White Isle sunrise.
The "Amnesia Closing Festival" celebration strives to level up the lavish clubbing experience the venue has meticulously crafted since its inception in the late 1970s. According to a press release shared with EDM.com, the festival embodies the club's new slogan, "Memories are overrated," encouraging attendees to leave the world's problems behind to be "truly free."
