The latest statistics from CGA Neilson reveal a devastating decline in the number of nightclubs across the UK, with staggering closures that underscore the urgent need for support and intervention.  Between June 2020 and June 2024, the UK lost 480 nightclubs, averaging 10 closures per month—or 2 per week. Alarmingly, the pace of closures has increased in 2024. Between December 2023 and June 2024, 65 nightclubs shut down, equating to 11 closures per month—or 3 per week. This rise in closures is devastating the UK’s late-night economy, particularly the dance music spaces that are the lifeblood of the scene.
Over the past four years these vital spaces, which are essential to the UK’s globally renowned dance music culture have been disappearing at an alarming rate, jeopardising not only jobs but the very heart of nightlife and culture in communities across the country.
The numbers are alarming:
– Central Region: From 200 nightclubs in 2020, only 118 remain in 2024, marking a catastrophic loss of 41%.
– East: A decline from 67 to 41 venues, representing a 39% reduction.
– Lancashire: Once home to 178 dance floors, only 104 survive, a 42% decrease.
– London: The vibrant heart of dance music has seen its dance floors reduced from 200 to just 143, down 29%.
– North East: A decrease from 61 to 49 venues, equating to a 20% decline.
– Scotland: From 125 venues to 83, a troubling 34% drop.
– South & South East: A reduction from 92 to 70 venues, down 24%.
– South West: The number of nightclubs has halved, from 111 to 64—a staggering 42% loss.
– Wales: From 66 to 39 venues, reflecting a grim 41% decline.
– Yorkshire: The hardest hit, with a loss from 132 to just 73 venues—a shocking 45% reduction.
Regional Disparities and Cultural Impact
The impact on northern regions is particularly severe. Yorkshire’s 45% reduction and Lancashire’s 42% decline illustrate the steep cultural and economic toll on these communities. In contrast, London, while also affected, shows a smaller reduction of 29%, reflecting the capital’s stronger economic base.
However, this doesn’t diminish the growing risk to the capital’s iconic nightlife culture.
Devolved regions like Scotland and Wales have also seen significant setbacks, with 34% and 41% reductions respectively, raising concerns over the sustainability of dance music culture in areas that rely on these venues for their local identity and economic activity.
Call for Immediate Government Action
The closure of nightclubs reflects a broader crisis in the UK’s night time cultural economy. The Night Time Industries Association urges the Chancellor to extend business rates relief in the coming Autumn budget to ease the financial burden on venues and ensure the survival of small and medium enterprises (SMEs) and cultural spaces that support nightlife culture. Further, the government must recognise the importance of supporting creative spaces beyond traditional bricks-and-mortar businesses, including pop-up events, music festivals, and other cultural initiatives that contribute to local economies.
Michael Kill, CEO of the Night Time Industries Association, said:
“The nightclub and dance music sector is facing an unprecedented crisis. Since June 2020, we’ve been losing two nightclubs every week, but in the last six months, this has escalated to three per week. This rapid decline is devastating for our economy, culture, and communities.
Despite contributing millions in taxes, we are burdened with rising costs and a lack of essential public services. Late-night transport is unreliable, police presence is scarce, and venues are forced to spend on security and cleaning—services that should be publicly provided. Additionally, bureaucratic systems around licensing and planning are inconsistent and definitely not conducive to growth, weighing us down at every point.
Our sector is treated like an afterthought, yet it supports jobs, tourism, and hospitality. These venues aren’t just places to dance; they are vital spaces for community and creativity. Without urgent government intervention, we risk losing a key part of the UK’s cultural identity in dance music. We need immediate action to prevent further closures. Long-term reform won’t matter if there are no venues left to benefit from it.”
While long-term reform is welcome, it will come too late for many businesses unless immediate support is provided to reverse the accelerating closure rate. The UK’s nightclubs are irreplaceable, and urgent intervention is needed to ensure they remain a vibrant part of our cultural identity.
Add that despite going millions in tax, and being somewhat weighed down at every point, also include bureaucratic systems around licensing and planning are inconsistent and are definitely not conducive to growth. In the same way flowers reach for light, Ben Böhmer cultivates his own artistic growth in his stunning new album, Bloom.
Fans of the melodic house superstar know that beneath the surface of his music lies a multilayered complexity, with intricate harmonic shifts that lend his compositions a lingering sense of evolving mystery. But we get more answers in Bloom, where the nuances of his production blossom like wildflower meadows in spring.
It's clear Böhmer used the new album as a canvas for exploration, ambitiously experimenting with new genres and tempos. He also embraces songwriting like never before, threading his atmospheric production through lyricism that quavers with vulnerability.
Awash in a woozy haze of synth pads, "Hiding" is one of the album's most compelling departures. A lullaby for the blind, the stunning breakbeat track pulses with the painful pang of almost-connection as Lykke Li warbles, "Where are you hiding?"
"Rain" is another beautiful deviation, an ambient ballad exploring loneliness in the arms of others. Nary a single kick drum, it's a cinematic deluge of emotion where a Max Milner belts atop Böhmer's sweeping strings, lamenting a breakup through anguished vocals laced with the aftertaste of emptiness.
Despite those surprises, Bloom isn't a complete anomaly. Longtime fans of Böhmer will find solace in "Beautiful," a melodic house masterstroke. Here, feathery vocals from Malou invite you to close your eyes and let your imagination paint the world in vibrant hues, even when the darkness seems overwhelming. The same goes for "Memory Cassettes," a vintage Böhmer track that bottles nostalgia like the cartridges of its namesake.
Out now via Ninja Tune, Bloom is Böhmer's third studio album and first since 2021's Begin Again. You can listen below and find the album on streaming platforms here.

Justice and Tame Impala's "Neverender" has already captured the hearts of fans with its soaring synths and aching lyricism. With Kaytranada and Rampa stepping in for remix duties, this standout from the French powerhouse duo's latest album Hyperdrama has been reborn as a dual exploration of house music's fluid textures.
Kaytranada and Rampa, both giants in their own right, have reimagined "Neverender" in ways that imbue depth into the song's emotional core while taking it into their respective house-driven realities. Both official remixes uphold the emotional weight of Justice’s original vision, but channel it through their own unique lenses.
Kaytranada's rework embraces the lush, atmospheric quality that fans have come to love. While the original "Neverender" pulses with the gritty, electro-rock textures that define much of Hyperdrama, the renowned producer trims down its distorted edges. Kaytranada's remix still retains the uplifting energy of the original, but swaps the intensity for an elegant, breezy groove.
Meanwhile, Keinemusik's Rampa steers the single into his distinctive Afro-house style with layers of dynamic percussion that ripple like waves, each beat carrying a deep, meditative energy.
The track's vocals echo over long delays, simmering over a relaxed beat as bright pads pulse gently beneath. His interpretation is not only rhythmic but also deeply atmospheric, allowing "Neverender" to breathe in a new way, as if the song is suspended in a moment of reflection.
The remixes arrive alongside the official "Neverender" music video, produced by Cekai. Directed by Masanobu Hiraoka with Kota Iguchi (Tokyo 2020 Olympics) and Armand Beraud (IRIS, A Space Opera by Justice), the anime-inspired incorporates Art Nouveau aesthetics.
"The 'Neverender' music video gave us the perfect opportunity to channel many of our visual influences, all while making them more distinctive through Masanobu Hiraoka’s unique reinterpretation," Justice said in a press release. "Together with longtime collaborators Pascal Teixeira and Armand Beraud, we drew initial inspiration from the title sequences of the 1980s anime we grew up on, which set the visual tone for the video."
"From there, other key images from our teenage years naturally came into play," the duo continued. "Whether it was the work of Moebius, psychedelic art, graphic novels, or iconic film posters that fascinated us, Masanobu’s style seamlessly absorbed and unified them all."

After nearly a year of teases, Ray Volpe has finally released his long-awaited track "GAME OVER."
As you might imagine from the title, "GAME OVER" is inspired by the sounds of classic video games. A booming voice resembling the narrator of a fantasy game utters the title before an 8-bit melody gives way to a stomping, frenetic bass drop.
Beneath the EDM.com Class of 2022 artist's masterfully produced bass is a flurry of retro video game sounds that feel like the spaceship that abducts you in Galaga. The final product is a fun tribute to the lights and sounds you'd hear from the world's almost-extinct arcades.
"GAME OVER" follows Volpe's mainstage performance at Excision's Lost Lands Festival, which returned to Ohio last weekend. Before that, he sat down with EDM.com to discuss how he created his fan-favorite track "SONG REQUEST" and the international phenomenon "Laserbeam."

Don Diablo and AR/CO have reunited for a new collaboration, "Solar Eclipse," out now via Helix Records.
They joined forces over three years ago for "Hot Air Balloon," a track that remains a fan-favorite. Releasing another record that crackles with indie-dance exuberance, it's clear they haven't lost their collaborative touch.
"It's been such a joy to see AR/CO grow from the start," Diablo said in a press release. "Something magical happens whenever we put our heads together and I am super happy to finally have a big follow-up to 'Hot Air Balloon' which is still gaining so much momentum three years after its release!"
Like its namesake, "Solar Eclipse" is a fleeting spectacle of beauty and power, leaving an afterimage burned into the listener's brain. The track, AR/CO adds, is for "late warm nights, long drives and dancing with the people you love."
Diablo's uplifting production sweeps us into a post-summer rapture, its breezy rhythms mirroring the giddy rush of newfound affection. Meanwhile, AR/CO's lyrics, "When I'm with you, it doesn't get better than this / When I'm with you, my heart is a solar eclipse," evoke the rare, breathtaking moment when passion obscures all else.

A mark of greatness in any artist is a signature sound that's instantly recognizable, a tenet Ganja White Night and Tape B know well.
Out now via SubCarbon Records, their new collaboration showcases how their unique sounds can seamlessly blend together to create a cohesive, heavy-hitting bass banger. In "Ganja Tape," Ganja White Night's distinctive wobbly sound design pairs perfectly with Tape B's gritty, low-end frequencies.
Tape B's signature "Yo Tape B!" vocal entwines with GWN's "Yes, Ganja," building hair-raising hype before the drop. Invigorating percussion and thunderous bass then envelop the senses, delivering a full-blown showcase of each act's production skillset.
In other recent news, Tape B recently released his hotly anticipated rework of Sage The Gemini's "Gas Pedal" alongside John Summit and Subtronics. Meduso has released a new EP, Synchronic, delivering a four-track stunner inspired by stories from his past.
The first track, "Below The Surface" sets the tone with a long, haunting introduction before diving headfirst into a nightmarish soundscape. "Head Rearranga" then lightens the tone with some mysterious keys and a vibrant bassline.
Rich with atmospheric vocals, "Siren's Hymn" sees Meduso call upon his love for progressive rock before unleashing a powerful bass drop that saws through the vox with jagged edges. The EP's closer, "Hiraeth," leans the heaviest into the rock fusion territory with grungy guitars that and warping bass.
Fans looking to get a taste of Synchronic in a live setting can see Meduso on the road this year. On the festival front, he's just performed at WAKAAN Music Festival and is set to take the stage at Subtronics' Cyclops Cove 3 in December. In-between these festival appearances, Meduso will support Tape B, Mersiv and Jantsen in the fall.

Moody Jones is back with a new EP, If You Feel It, delivering a pair of tracks that are as raw and intense as they are undeniably catchy.
Out now via EMPIRE Dance, If You Feel It is a house-fueled earthquake that threatens to shatter the foundations of your carefully constructed composure. Jones, an esteemed DJ and music exec, urges movement by producing down-and-dirty basslines that crawl under your skin like a welcome parasite.
The record's titular track, "If You Feel It," is impossible to resist. Here, an acid-fueled bassline glissades through the mix and hits like that first sip of absinthe—intoxicating, slightly dangerous and utterly addictive.
That song's sultry counterpart, "Gotta Be You," weaves a spell with its infectious rhythm and soulful vocals. Jones' four-on-the-floor beats pair beautifully with lyrics that paint a picture of a love so deep it's almost tangible.

ToMix invites us down the rabbit hole of his unique sound in his new two-track EP, Feel Da / I'm Ready.
Having released records on venerated dance labels like Tchami's Confession, Don Diablo's Generation HEX and Laidback Luke's Mixmash Deep, ToMix is quickly making a name for himself in the house music scene. His music has also received support from Hardwell, David Guetta, Marshmello, DJ Snake, Malaa and many more.
A compelling blend of minimal, textured production and dark sound design, the EP is a sonic blade that cuts through the noise of today's saturated house music. Through soundscapes both foreign and eerily familiar, ToMix transports us to a dystopian dancefloor where basslines writhe and synths speak in alien tongues.
In "Feel Da," the producer's pitched vocals slither and glide through the mix like Dementors, luring listeners deeper into an abyss of gothic bass house. Its counterpart, "I'm Ready," keeps the energy alive with another pulsing four-on-the-floor arrangement.

Aussie house producer GONE MAGIC’s latest single ‘FEARS,’ was born out of a moment of intense frustration and artistic disconnect. After a weekend of failed attempts at writing music, he found himself sitting in his studio late on a Sunday night, feeling disheartened and felt the ‘FEARS’ of writer’s block start to settle in. In a moment of clarity, he decided to let go of his anxieties and simply open himself to whatever inspiration might come. Suddenly, creativity flowed, and within a few hours, 90% of the track was produced, thus capturing that authentic and deeply emotive sound. Over the next few months, GONE MAGIC meticulously refined the remaining elements of ‘FEARS,’ crafting a track that embodies the power of rejecting worries and embracing passion.

GETTING TO KNOW GONE MAGIC
Explain what musical genre fits you best
House/dance
Were you connected with music from a young age and did anyone inspire you?
Absolutely. Music has always been an escape and form of expression for me, regardless of form. Growing up I always used to make up songs as my dad was in a band and i wanted to be like him.
What kickstarted your music career?
Getting my first laptop and teaching myself how to produce music. From there I just haven’t looked back!
Tell us more about your sound and how it’s evolved over time
I first started off as a rapper/producer in my teens, writing beats and then performing the raps to go alongside it. As a producer I always kept an open mind when it came to the production side of things, I have a very diverse music taste and would always try to draw elements from whatever I was listening to at the time and incorporate that into my music. As I finished highschool and struggled to find work in the music industry I decided I would learn how to DJ as a way to perform and begin to make a living off music as it was my dream. As my DJ career began I started experimenting with making dance music, as I’ve always loved listening to it and going to festivals. Slowly my production style started to shift, especially as I entered different phases of life and used music as a way to express myself. My venture into being a electronic artist has really been about being able to capture deep, emotive sounds that contain elements from all types of music, whether its sounds, production styles or overall energy in such a way that my listeners can feel it in their soul.
Any words you want to share to encourage other artists or producers?
Don’t hold onto an identity if you feel a calling for something else.
I struggled at first, making a switch from being a rapper/producer to a house DJ as I felt that I was almost betraying myself in a way. Over time I have come to realise that it was just a calling for me to create something far better and amazing and being able to let go of who I thought I was has lead me to develop my skills and passion as an artist.

How do you nurture your industry relationships?
I try to build genuine human connection with everyone I work with. Don’t treat people like business transactions, try get to know someone outside of a business relationship because we would all rather help a friend rather than a stranger, even if you’ve never met face to face.
Is there anyone you’d like to thank that’s been crucial to your journey?
Probably my mum, she is my number 1 fan and critic.
Name 3 songs you love and what they mean to you + Youtube links
First one is actually an album: “The North Borders” by Bonobo
I have listened to this album more than any other musical piece in my life. It has been something I turn to in times of both happiness and sadness. A true masterpiece. Simon Green (Bonobo) is one of my all time favourite artists and I draw a lot of my creative inspiration from him.

“Vincent Price” by Phonique
This is one of the first songs that REALLY got me into house music. I heard this track in my early teens and would listen to it on repeat for HOURS. I always get a bit nostalgic when I listen to it now as it feels like this was partly where my music career began.

“Time” by Hans Zimmer
Quite possibly one of the best compositions EVER. I remember watching Inception for the first time and hearing the theme feeling such a visceral response from the music that I can’t listen to the song without getting goosebumps. I love this track because it is how music is meant to make us feel!

What’s your favourite piece of studio equipment or software?
Definitely my Sidechain plug-in “Kickstart 2” by Nicky Romero. It has so many creative applications aside from laying kick + bass and I use it on every track without fail. Best money I ever spent.
Name your favourite club or festival and how it makes you feel
Tomorrowland. I think for me it’s the idea of it. When I think of being a Dj and the whole “dream” side of things, Tomorrowland is the pinnacle that we all strive for. Just thinking about it makes my heart race and gives me the chills. One day i’ll play on the Tomorrowland stage, you guys just watch!
Name an outlandish rider request?
Might seem weird but  don’t use fitted sheets. Nothing worse than coming back to your room when you’re ready for bed and having to pull a million covers off and pull out a sheet that feels like its been superglued to the mattress… huge pet hate of mine haha.
Favourite clubbing memory and who or what did it involve?
Probably Earlier this year when I hosted a Boat Party. DJing, dancing and spending time with friends on a yacht in the middle of summer was an experience I’ll never forget. We all felt like superstars that day.
What famous quote represents you best?
“The person you are destined to become is the person you decide to be” – Ralph Waldo Emerson

If you could play at any venue, where would it be and why?
Boiler Room. The energy in that place is out of this world!
Music is….. (explain more)
A way for us to connect irregardless of age, language, national borders and lifetime.
One song you really couldn’t live without and why?
“Waiting” by Oliver Heldens. It’s such a funky, feel good track that makes me want to dance every time I listen.
Namedrop your favourite 5 artists or DJs (past or present)
Bonobo, Chris Lake, David Guetta, Tiesto, Oliver Heldens
What was your first music memory and how did it fuel your fire?
Watching my dad perform in a band. It lit a spark in me that hasn’t gone out, giving me a love for music.
Tell us more about your plans for the future
I’m currently working on an Ep which I hope to have ready for release by the end of the year.
Any worldly advice you’d like to share?
Don’t compare yourself to others. It can be hard with social media these days but if you can look back and confidently say “I’m better than who I was yesterday and I’ve come further than I ever thought, who cares what everyone else is doing” then you’ll find it much easier to be happy and grateful for your life. We only have one life so we might as well live it trying to pursue our dreams… better to try and fail than live with the regret of never trying.

Rapper Sean “Diddy” Combs has been the subject of recent controversy due to serious allegations against him. Despite these accusations — in fact, one could argue “due to” these accusations —, his music streaming numbers have seen a significant increase, ever since his arrest.
Many people have shown increased interest in Diddy’s music, likely driven by curiosity, and a desire to understand who the artist on the news is. The allegations against him have sparked discussions and debates, leading to a surge in his online presence. It’s a notable phenomenon that despite the negative publicity surrounding Diddy, his music has gained popularity. This could be attributed to several factors, including the public’s fascination with celebrity scandals and the enduring appeal of his music.
Since his arrest, almost 18.3 percent more people have streamed his music than a week earlier. Sean Combs has several aliases, including Puff Daddy and P. Diddy in addition to Diddy. And music analytics shows that all of these have increased after the incident.
As more details about the case emerge, it remains to be seen how this will impact Diddy’s career and public perception. However, this is not the first time he’s faced court and controversies, as it’s been a constant throughout his years active in the music industry.

Enigmatic artist 1788-L has teamed up with Seattle-based producer/DJ Quackson for a new collaboration ‘WARTYPE’ out now via HypnoVizion.

A ferocious force from start to finish, ‘WARTYPE’ is an electrifying kickoff to 1788-L’s new era. ‘WARTYPE’ sees 1788-L continue to experiment with intense and complex sound design alongside HypnoVizion alum Quackson. Thunderous builds offset cataclysmic drops as ‘WARTYPE’’s intensity heightens with each twist and turn. Complementary to both 1788-L and Quackson’s mischievous midtempo styles, ‘WARTYPE’ is a monstrous heater ready to be unleashed on dancefloors far and wide.
“A collaborative effort with Quackson more than a year ago, this tune transformed many times. Recently bringing the project to the finish line together, we are stoked with the final cut you hear today. The intense, foreboding brass sounds of the intro set the tone for the whole body of work to come!” – 1788-L
“I’m extremely stoked to have worked with 1788-L on this monster of a tune. ‘WARTYPE’ will be my set opener for a lot of shows moving forward, and I’m guessing it’ll be a fan favorite.“ – Quackson

1788-L is an American DJ/producer seen as one of the pioneers of the midtempo genre. Launched in 2018, the previously anonymous project quickly garnered attention with his unique techno / industrial remixes. Since then, he’s collaborated with Rezz, The Glitch Mob, Illenium, Blanke, and more. 1788-L unmasked himself last year ahead of the release of his debut album ALPHA+ via mau5trap. ‘WARTYPE’ marks 1788-L’s debut on HypnoVizion and first original release of the year.
Jackson Wells, aka Quackson, is a DJ and music producer from Seattle, Washington. Quackson’s music is a bass-heavy journey with twists and turns that engage the listener from start to finish. His releases on HypnoVizion, Bassrush, Space Yacht, Ophelia, and Alter/Ego have caught the attention of some of the biggest names in bass music including Rezz, Deathpact, and Excision. ‘WARTYPE’ marks Quackson’s third appearance on HypnoVizion, following ‘Gyrate’ with Rezz and Wreckno and ‘Caffeine Induced Psychosis’ with EDDIE.

Lost Souls of Saturn (LSOS)—the visionary duo composed of Seth Troxler and Phil Moffa, along with select collaborators—are redefining the boundaries of music, technology, and storytelling. LSOS seamlessly blends these elements into a singular, immersive experience, challenging the conventional format boundaries. To date, their creative transmissions have spanned vinyl records, digital media, art installations, artefacts, augmented reality (AR), 360-degree video, and live performances. Now, with the release of their latest album, Reality, LSOS continues their exploration of new media through an innovative venture: the comic book.

In collaboration with renowned comic book artist and AR pioneer Rob Shields and Abstract Comics co-founder Mike Bundlie, LSOS has crafted a revolutionary new type of comic book—one that transcends traditional formats. These comic pages offer a dual experience: they can be appreciated in their physical form or enhanced through cutting-edge AR technology, creating a multi-sensory fusion of sight and sound. When viewed through the LSOS mobile app, each page and panel comes to life in animated 3D, with an evolving LSOS soundtrack synchronised perfectly to the narrative. This pioneering integration of dynamic music and visual storytelling offers readers an entirely new form of artistic synesthesia.

Taking this groundbreaking concept even further, LSOS has partnered with W1 Curates, a prominent public art platform, to present their comic book series as part of a fully immersive exhibition—a first for the comic book world. Following the highly praised debut of this exhibition at W1 Curates’ Oxford Street gallery in London in February 2024 and a pop-up show at the Glastonbury Festival in June, LSOS and W1 Curates are now bringing this extraordinary experience to Los Angeles in October for a special presentation. The private view on Thursday, October 10th, will feature the U.S. live debut of Lost Souls of Saturn and mark the official U.S. release of these highly anticipated physical and digital comic books.

Since the first edition of WORLD CLUB DOME in 2013, BigCityBeats, the long-standing German label, radio, event, and festival organization, has come a long way with its burning passion for music, quickly growing into one of the biggest festivals in the world. During the sunny weekend of September 6th, 7th, and 8th, the 2024 edition of WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition took place. The festival, which was voted 10th out of the top 100 festivals in the world by DJ Mag UK, accommodated almost 150,000 visitors from 80 nations. EDMHouseNetwork had the honor of being part of this extraordinary experience, and here’s how it went.
Flying in from Amsterdam, we landed at Frankfurt Airport at 11:00 AM and made our way to the Sheraton Airport Hotel, where we would be staying for the entire weekend. As this hotel is located directly at the airport and only 10 minutes by car or 15 minutes by public transport from Deutsche Bank Park—where the festival takes place—it’s a great choice for anyone traveling from outside Germany who wants a comfortable stay with minimal travel time.
Buying a ticket for WORLD CLUB DOME automatically gets you an RMV ticket for local public transport, and with the Sheraton Airport Hotel being located directly above the bus station, you’ll have very little to worry about in terms of travel time and transportation to and from the hotel. For those who are interested in getting a 3-day ticket for WORLD CLUB DOME and would like to get the full festival experience, buying a camping ticket is also an option. The campsite is located a 10-minute walk from Deutsche Bank Park and is open from Thursday to Monday. As there is currently no option to rent equipment at the campsite, it’s important to note that bringing your own gear is a must.
There is a store available at the campsite where you can buy necessities such as drinks and food, but it’s good to know that the only accepted payment method is cash. Campers are also charged a garbage deposit of €5 per person, which is returned upon departure if the site is left clean and the garbage has been properly disposed of. This is a great way to ensure that everyone leaves the area as clean as possible after the festival is over!
Another helpful tip is that there is a central power station for charging electronic devices at the campsite, and sockets can also be found inside the campsite lockers that can be rented. While no one should be glued to their phone during a festival, it’s definitely nice and convenient to know that you don’t have to stress about charging your devices if necessary.
Festival Area and Stages
As we approached the entrance of the festival and heard the music roaring in the distance, the real excitement for the weekend kicked in. Frankfurt’s Deutsche Bank Park had been transformed into 700,000 square meters of unforgettable sights, sounds, and spectacles, all uniquely contributing to WORLD CLUB DOME’s 2024 theme: ‘Future Edition‘.
The idea behind the theme was to immerse attendees in a futuristic landscape shaped by state-of-the-art technology and forward-thinking collaborations. Through the use of artificial intelligence, virtual reality, and a focus on sustainability—topics that are highly trending at the moment—WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition integrated a variety of unique elements throughout the festival to show that the future isn’t just a distant concept, but is actually already here.
Having partnered with groundbreaking organizations such as the European Space Agency (ESA) and the Alfred Wegener Institute, WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition went beyond the traditional festival experience, focusing on the evolution of how we celebrate, connect, and experience entertainment.
With a total of 20 different stages that hosted over 200 artists throughout the weekend, and a broad variety of genres such as techno, hardstyle, hip-hop, pop, house, and drum and bass, there was no shortage of beats and music to enjoy. The different stages were scattered across the festival grounds and blended into the natural and existing elements of the area, ensuring that every stage had its own unique setting and vibe.
The Pool Area was definitely something we were excited to experience, especially on Saturday when temperatures soared above 30 degrees. We can confidently say that we can’t think of a better way to enjoy amazing music and vibes during a festival, especially when the skies are clear, the sun is high, and temperatures are even higher, than from the comfort of a cool pool. This is definitely an idea other festivals should consider incorporating into their events as summer temperatures continue to rise, making it more challenging for visitors to enjoy the experience.
Deutsche Bank Park
WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition as a whole was a unique experience that left a strong impression and left us wanting more. The part that truly made our jaws drop, however (yes, we were really standing there with “wow” expressions on our faces), was the transformation of the Deutsche Bank Park stadium into the “biggest club in the world.”
The stage set up at one of the short sides of the stadium was nothing less than monumental, with its cutting-edge LED screens, lasers, and pyrotechnics creating a futuristic atmosphere. The dance floor took up the entire ground floor of the arena, and surrounding structures such as bars and VIP areas made the stadium feel like a modern, impressively grand club.
The sound design was meticulously engineered to deliver high-quality audio throughout the massive space of the stadium. Special attention was given to the acoustics, ensuring that every corner of Deutsche Bank Park was immersed in crystal-clear sound. Massive speaker arrays and subwoofers were strategically placed to create an enveloping, bass-heavy soundscape that penetrated every part of the venue.
The carefully planned and executed strategy that brought all these crucial elements and details together ensured that the audience—up to 50,000 attendees in the stadium at once—experienced something spectacular no matter where they were in the arena. The combination of well-executed production design, iconic DJs performing on stage, and crowds full of devoted electronic music lovers created a vibrant energy that was infectious each day of the three-day festival.
Artists and Music
The Friday opening of WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition started off strong at the Pool Sessions stage with Grammy winner Black Coffee, followed by the Italian DJ Tennis. On the Zombie Stage, Angerfist fired up the crowd with some of his hardest kicks, and Don Diablo warmed up the crowd for US megastar Steve Aoki. The day ended with an exclusive performance by the legendary trio Steve Aoki, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike—their only festival appearance this summer.
Due to temperatures of over 30 degrees on Saturday, WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition sold out completely, as this was clearly the best place to celebrate what was likely the last summer day of 2024. We can only say that it was a great choice, with Grammy Award winner Imanbek making his debut on the main stage, Le Shuuk warming up the audience for a spectacular Scooter Live fireworks display, and DJ Snake rounding off the day.
Added to this, WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition also celebrated the world premiere of the Flamenca Stage—a stage that delivered a unique mix of flamenco and electronic music. An amazing way to combine tradition with innovation by mixing the passionate sounds of flamenco with the electrifying beats of electronic music. Curious what this sounded like? Then you should definitely check out Don Juan, Nena Polap, and Esteban Garcia, who performed here.
Sunday, the third day of the festival, was largely dedicated to hip-hop, which is one of the most popular music genres in Germany. German rappers Celo & Abdi, Olexesh, Badmomzjay, and Katja Krasavice built up the mood until Haftbefehl closed the outdoor main stage with an amazing show. At the same time, Claptone hosted the Frankfurt Berg Stage with Masquerade, and techno masters such as Simina Grigoriu, DJ Rush, and Honey Dijon brought the action to the Forest Stage.
Sub Zero Project gave an incredible closing performance at the Zombie Stage, and after melodic sets from Joel Corry and Robin Schulz, one of the most anticipated DJs of the weekend, David Guetta, delivered a spectacular closing of WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition in a completely packed stadium that was going wild.
Additional Highlights
Besides great music and fantastic stages, WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition also offered a special treat for reality show lovers with the BigCityBeats GLAM – an influencer fair. Around 500 social media stars, such as Julian and Luka from Germany’s Next Top Model, Mohamadou Idrissou, and Caner Atik, were there to celebrate the future at WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition.
Together with stars from the German reality show The Realitystar Island, such as Oliver Pocher, Gigi, and Chris Broy, this gathering of reality stars became the largest ever executed. Accompanied by TV and the yellow press, the stars were celebrating at the WCD Pool Sessions, where other attendees of the festival also had the opportunity to apply for the different reality shows.
Conclusions
WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition definitely proved why it stands among the top festivals globally by combining cutting-edge technology, world-class performances, and unforgettable experiences. From its immersive futuristic theme to a diverse lineup across 20 stages, the festival catered to a broad variety of tastes while pushing the boundaries of what a music festival can offer.
In recent years, many festival-goers have expressed concerns about the growing monotony and commercialization of music festivals, with some claiming that the experiences are becoming anticlimactic, repetitive, and losing their unique charm. Through innovative themes such as the integration of futuristic technology, sustainability, and creative partnerships, WORLD CLUB DOME – Future Edition has done a great job demonstrating how festivals can evolve beyond “just” music, while still keeping music in main focus.
With its clear focus on innovation, WORLD CLUB DOME has not only set a new standard for future events but has also offered a glimpse into the next chapter of entertainment. Added to this, for those unfamiliar with their groundbreaking history, BigCityBeats and WORLD CLUB DOME made headlines in 2019 with the world’s first DJ set played in outer space, followed by the launch of the Space Club Kitchen at the International Space Station (ISS) in 2022.
With this in mind, the fact that WORLD CLUB DOME is already teasing with a ”mission to the moon” in cooperation with the European Space Agency (ESA) during 2025’s edition, and combination with the “never done before” spectacles and surprises that we’ve already witnessed during these past years, there is no denying the suspense and excitement we feel about what BigCityBeats and WORLD CLUB DOME will deliver in 2025.
EDMHouseNetwork would like to thank BigCityBeats and WORLD CLUB DOME for allowing us to be a part of this extraordinary experience, and urge out fans and readers to get tickets for WORLD CLUB DOME Moon Edition 2025, 6-8th of June, by clicking here. Because one thing is clear – if you want to get your mind blown and embark on a next level musical adventure where the unexpected is to be expected, then WORLD CLUB DOME is definitely the festival that should be added next to your agenda.

The global social media giant TikTok has announced that it is shutting down its separate music app, TikTok Music. The origins of TikTok Music go back to the summer of 2022 when the social media platform had plans to launch its own music streaming app and it had Chinese internet tech company, ByteDance, developing it. ByteDance had already developed an app called Resso, which already launched in India in early 2020, and Resso later changed to TikTok Music in the summer of 2023.
TikTok Music shortly got a ban in India but it still launched in Brazil and Indonesia, and had already expanded into Australia, Mexico, and Singapore as the app invited users in those three countries to participate in a closed beta test. Fast forward to today, TikTok Music announced on its official website that the app will close on November 28th, and they recommended users to transfer their playlists by October 28th (especially to various streaming services such as Spotify and SoundCloud) and request refunds by the expected date the app will close by. When November 28th arrives, everyone’s TikTok Music account information and personal data will receive an automatic deletion.

Printworks is one of London’s most famous superclubs, as well as one of the world’s must-visit dance/electronic music venues. According to an article from DJ Mag, Printworks just received approval for its planning application that property developers British Land and AustralianSuper submitted earlier this year so that it can redevelop itself into a permanent venue for “cultural use”. The last time Printworks hosted events was back in Spring 2023, particularly when it hosted its farewell event on May 1st of last year, which featured the likes of Bicep, Peggy Gou, Dixon, and DJ Koze as some of the headliners there.
The initial plan the property developers had was to restructure the 53-acre Surrey Quays site where Printworks placed itself and rebuild it with luxury flats, shops, offices, and restaurants. Fast forward to the present day, Printworks looks like it will make a phenomenal and unforgettable return as a result of this planning approval. Amongst the names that could not contain its excitement for the Printworks planning approval for redevelopment is the Night Time Industries Association and shown below is a statement from its CEO, Michael Kill. Furthermore, click on this link to read the Planning Consent Application Summary for the London super-club.

“We are extremely pleased to hear the news that Printworks officially received planning consent for redevelopment on Tuesday night“, Kill says. “This is an extremely positive moment for London’s nightlife and the entire cultural ecosystem of the city. Printworks has long stood as a beacon of creativity and innovation, not just in the UK but globally“.
The CEO also expressed his gratitude towards the Electronic scene and competent authorities, and revealed plans to get the venue back up and running as soon as possible: “The approval is a testament to the incredible support from the local authorities, community, the music industry, key stakeholders and the dedicated team behind Printworks. With full steam ahead on these exciting plans, we are one step closer to seeing the venue reopen its doors, bringing back the energy, passion, and world-class experiences that made it such an iconic space“.

Following the release of his Rouge ou Noir EP, Parisian house music maestro and Apollonia champion Dan Ghenacia shares a brand new music video for his EP’s title track directed by Australian talent Lucy Dyson.

Described by Billboard as “a spacey, synthy, sexy and simply funky swirl,” Dan Ghenacia’s “Rouge ou Noir” enters a new dimension with this brand new, animated video, which dives into the playful soundscape. The animated video draws inspiration from the circular imagery of the EP’s artwork, weaving the main protagonist in and out of hypnotic scenes as he pursues a mysterious love interest from casino roulette tables to the dancefloor and ending in an eventual happily-ever-after.
“It was important to me that the collage style animation had a lot of texture,” said director Lucy Dyson, who has previously worked with artists like Paul McCartney and Beyonce. “Frames were printed out and then re-shot to give a particular texture I couldn’t get digitally, and we mixed up the mediums used by also incorporating rotoscoped video footage to really push the surreal dream-trip experience. Taking the roulette wheel as my main visual cue, I created a surreal trip through a casino in a playful cat-and-mouse pursuit of love! This idea lends itself nicely to a tropical Ibiza-tinged psychedelic James Bond-esque licensed-to-love narrative.” Ghenacia’s knowledge of house music, which he’s accumulated over the last 25-plus years DJing, hosting essential parties, and running vital labels, is crystal clear on his fantastic new Rouge ou Noir EP. “Everything unfolded at a dizzying pace,” says Dan Ghenacia on creating the new EP. “Five days in a dream studio in Los Angeles led to Rouge ou Noir, a surreal and psychedelic experience with funky vibes. StrataSonic, this young label, is showing boundless creativity with its team to maximize the release’s impact.”

In a groundbreaking collaboration that bridges the gap between traditional African rhythms and contemporary electronic soundscapes, Zimbabwean DJ/producer duo TAPIWA & Simbai, collectively known as Sebenza Soundsystem, have unveiled their latest masterpiece: a pulsating afro-house remix of Novuyo Seagirl’s powerful anthem, “Imbokodo.”
The original track, a raw and emotive ode to the resilience of women, takes on new life under Sebenza Soundsystem’s expert touch. Their remix transforms “Imbokodo” into a club-ready banger that doesn’t sacrifice an ounce of its original potency. The Shona word “Sebenza,” meaning “to work,” aptly describes the duo’s approach to this remix – a meticulous labor of love that elevates Seagirl’s message to new heights.
TAPIWA & Simbai’s production prowess shines through in every beat. They’ve crafted a sonic landscape that seamlessly blends the earthy tones of traditional African instrumentation with the sleek, polished edges of modern house music. The result is a track that feels both timeless and cutting-edge, rooted in cultural heritage yet unafraid to push boundaries.
At its core, “Imbokodo” – which takes its name from the Zulu phrase “Wathint’ abafazi, wathint’ imbokodo” (You strike a woman, you strike a rock) – is a celebration of women who have long been overlooked by society. The remix amplifies this message, turning it into a rallying cry for dancefloors across the continent and beyond. The duo’s interpretation adds layers of urgency and excitement to Seagirl’s powerful vocals, creating an irresistible call to action that demands listeners both move their feet and open their minds.
By infusing afro-house elements into Seagirl’s powerful narrative, TAPIWA & Simbai have created a bridge between generations, between tradition and modernity. They’ve taken a song about the struggles and successes of women and transformed it into a unifying anthem that resonates across gender lines and national borders. “Imbokodo” in their hands becomes not just a celebration of women’s strength, but a testament to the power of music to inspire, unite, and ignite change.
