"FLORESCENCE" Benefit Concert to Support End Overdose's Harm Reduction Efforts

Impactful moments manifest when music and education collide, which The LIFE Stream Project knows well.
The team behind the charitable electronic music event organizer has announced "FLORESCENCE," a benefit concert to support End Overdose in their mission to combat overdose deaths.
Hosted by V.OKAY, the show will feature performances by Bella Renee, JAWNS, So Sus, Jampagne and more. Scheduled for October 12th, the show will also stream live from Phoenix's Egyptian Motor Hotel, complete with a retro pool and picturesque courtyard that will allow for a 360° experience.
The LIFE Stream Project, a 501c4 nonprofit, says the event is centered around the themes of growth and development, while referencing nature via inspired decor and desert aesthetics. Beyond the diverse musical lineup of "FLORESCENCE," the End Overdose organization will also host mid-stream awareness segments featuring live speeches and video messages focused on overdose prevention education.

Chicane Releases Touching Organic House Single, ‘The Sleepless Year’

Seriously asking, is there anything this man cannot do?!
It’s incredible just how gifted Nick Chicane is. Once famous for his timeless classic ‘Saltwater‘, which is widely considered one of the core tracks of Trance and Dance music of all time, he hasn’t stopped releasing music year after year, for over a quarter of a century. As far as Beatport goes, Nick’s discography has accrued to about 1,000 releases. (!).
Chicane’s impressive catalogue offers more than a couple gems, and while ‘Saltwater’ has been a defining record ever since its year of release, 1999, Nick has produced several iconic records throughout his career. Some of his most famous songs include ‘Offshore‘ (1996), ‘Don’t Give Up‘ (2000), ‘Autumn‘ (2002), ‘Poppi‘ (2007), ‘No Ordinary Love‘ (2010), and ‘Times‘ (2016).
‘The Sleepless Year’
With ‘The Sleepless Year’, Chicane once again showcases his unparalleled ability to create immersive soundscapes. This chilled, piano-focused Dance track is the next highlight from his upcoming album, Trampolines, the ninth entry of his long-play offerings. Blending soft-spoken strings with an illuminating piano melody that hits like a breath of fresh air, this track invites listeners to lose themselves in its beauty, whether on the dance floor or in quiet reflection.
The best things are not always the most romantic. Such is the case with me discovering this record. I was at my local bakery one early morning, still shaking the pillow off my head, when I received this as a demo. I just lifted the phone to my ear and hit play. I swear, my eyes opened up fully. There’s something magical about this track: it has that sensitivity only Nick can imprint on his pieces. I’ve been obsessed with ‘The Sleepless Year’ ever since, and I’m so happy that it finally came out. Truly.

Listen to "feel U luv Me," the First Single From Knock2's Long-Awaited Debut Album

Ahead of his long-awaited debut album, NOLIMIT, Knock2 is not-so-ironically pushing the limits of his artistry with its lead single, "feel U luv Me."
Out now by way of 88rising, the scintillating track was first teased in his performances at HARD Summer and Lollapalooza and quickly became a coveted release amid the furious rise of EDM.com Class of 2023 star.
"feel U luv Me" blends high-energy bass house with euphoric vocals, propelling through a the kind of infectiously dynamic chord progression that's become a hallmark of Knock2's singular style. A highlight is the sample of PARTYNEXTDOOR's "TBH," which has been masterfully pitched and interpolated to add a fresh twist that seamlessly integrates into the track's bouncy groove.
Knock2 says the track's origins can be traced back to a coffeeshop music production session alongside his ISOKNOCK bandmate, ISOxo.
"I was making a new intro for 2023 festivals, sampling my favorite R&B artist, PARTYNEXTDOOR, and that’s how the song came to life," Knock2 said in a press release. "I began playing it live, and it quickly became one of my standout tracks. I'm excited to share it with the world since so many fans already know and love it."
Fans can experience feel U luv Me live at upcoming ISOKNOCK gigs in San Diego and San Francisco, where the Coachella alums are expected to perform for over 50,000 attendees. Organized in support of their collaborative album 4EVR, performances will also feature other unreleased songs from Knock2's NOLIMIT album, per the press release.

NITTI And Dakota Honour Chester Bennington On Bass House Rendition Of ‘Numb’

This one is a beautiful respectful, and powerful tribute. Props.
We’re excited to share his with you all. NITTI, the GRAMMY-winning artist, has been on a roll lately, experimenting with a unique blend of Rock and Electronic music. And before you look away, trust us — he actually makes it work. Over the summer, he released viral remixes of iconic Rock and Metal anthems, including Slipknot’s ‘Duality’ and System of a Down’s ‘Chop Suey!’.
After experimenting with some Rocktronic tracks, such as ‘Stay Away’ with OUTRAGE and Micah Martin, and ‘White Knuckles’ with BRAYTON, he eventually got to Linkin Park‘s legendary hit, ‘Numb‘. The remix quickly went viral after NITTI shared a video of his friends listening to it, and the demand became so high at one point, we now welcome an official release of this cover on his very own ALT/RAVE label.

The album features collaborations with talented artists such as Bianca Gardner, Proppa, Niko The Kid, Megan Hamilton, NO STATIC, and Thatz Hot, adding further depth and variety to the tracks, while also sending a message about crafting timeless gems and unforgettable music as a well-entwined community.

Writer Picks
Even though all tracks are pointy and banging — as they should be —, there’s something in ‘All For Myself‘ which stuck with me from the first listen. I’ll call it the “House-groovy-resemblance-ness” it has, for lack of better words. Funnily enough, I think that Frankenstein word I just made up gets my point across.
The track scratches my craving for jazzy chords and blending of genres in just the right spot. You can hear early Tchami influences during the break, even earlier House stab chords, warm, rounded synths, and even yesteryear vocal lines, but it’s all, once again, adapted to the contemporary sounds of Tech House. It’s also a very minimalistic track, not a super over-the-top arrangement. It lets every element shine, and I dig it quite a bunch for it.

Paul van Dyk And The YellowHeads Team Up For Peak-Time Techno Bomb ‘Back 2 The FVTR’

High energy Friday from what we can see. And we’ll add even more fuel to the fire. You may know German legend Paul van Dyk as a pillar of Dance music for his contributions to Trance, but he loves making music in general. Dance music with no last names. That’s what he told us in our interview with him at least!
And on that same line, to celebrate the 100th release on his VANDIT Alternative label, Paul has teamed up with the talented Techno duo The YellowHeads to deliver a powerful new single, ‘Back 2 The FVTR‘. It’s an honour to say this: we had the chance to test it live, spun by the master himself, and we witnessed just how powerful it is.
‘Back 2 The FVTR’
Van Dyk’s and The YellowHeads’ brand-new ‘Back 2 The FVTR’ is a sonic journey that encapsulates the sheer essence of Techno in its most raw form. It’s pure power, but it also comes with some iconic soundscapes we find quite familiar, from a man coming from Berlin, and whose name pictures some of Trance’s defining pieces.
This track is, well, as Paul himself wanted, a nod to the classic rave era and a futuristic anthem, all at once. It just speaks volumes about his way of seeing the industry, and the way he’s having fun reinventing and branching his sound towards new spaces. After three decades of experience, whatever genre he produces will be a success. This new track is certainly a case in point.

Alex Kislov Releases Progressive House Belter, ‘Time Stops’

This one’s for all those looking to kick off the weekend in style.
Have a listen to this piece. Alex Kislov, a talented DJ and music producer from Chicago, is on the brink of releasing his debut album, Dream Sequence. As a taste of what’s to come, Kislov has lifted the veil on an entrancing single from the collection, which he’s called ‘Time Stops‘.
Kislov’s music has been gaining traction in the industry, with his tracks being played on major radio shows and podcasts. Recently, he also achieved a major milestone by performing at the EVOL AFTERS Electric Forest afterparty. In perhaps the most solid evidence of a future leader of the Dance scene, he’s just come back from the Playa, where he performed multiple sets as part of the Burning Man 2024 roster.
‘Time Stops’
The track is a proper Progressive House belter, standing on the more Peak-Time side of the genre. Strong beats, powerful snare, rhythmic and fast-paced hats, and other ear candy goodness are waiting for the picky ear to discover. Over the base and percussion, lays the core of the song, which is led by warm arpeggios, jumpy basslines, and a hypnotising vocal line which, every now and then, reminds you of the title of the track, and the intention of the haunting atmospheres beneath.
The single is indicative of the kind of quality you can expect from the full and upcoming Dream Sequence project. Stunning, evocative, deeply emotional synth lines paired with slick, punchy beats. We sure have our fingers ready to hit Replay a thousand times on the tunes, which promise to be reminiscent of the golden age of Progressive House.

Hurricane Helene Forces Eli Brown’s Cavern Show To Reschedule

Is it deja vu? Sadly, no, it’s another incredible show forced to be rescheduled due to the impending Hurricane Helene. The Caverns in Tennessee announced today that they had to shut down operations for the Eli Brown takeover this weekend September 27th and 28th. The popular Bristol-based Techno DJ would’ve been the second Techno act this year in the venue. As we remember, Hard Techno High Priestess Sara Landry had her ritualistic takeover in late June.
Hurricane Helene
Expected to make landfall tonight through Florida, Hurricane Helene is a category 4 storm surge that poses a serious threat to Floridians. As Hurricane Helene continues north, it is expected to go through Tennessee, hence making the venue reschedule the event. Per their social media, tickets will be transferred out to the next date on May 9th 2025. The lineup included Massano, Marie Vaunt, and Boges, for an Arcane Label takeover.
Moreover, attendees are able to contact the venue for a refund by October 4th 2024. As disheartening as it is to have amazing shows cancelling and rescheduling left and right, safety will forever come first.
Diamonds on Our Mind
As one of today’s mainstream/Peak Time Techno biggest figures, Eli Brown has developed a fun and sexy brand. In effect, it has enchanted the masses. His repertoire includes fantastic releases on Adam Beyer’s Drumcode, Insomniac’s Factory 93, and his impactful collaborations with HI-LO, Lilly Palmer, and Layton Giordani. He runs his own label Arcane Music, and consistently tours the world, influencing dancefloors with his tracks.
Sadly, this is Brown’s second show that was cancelled in September. The first one was EDC China, dealing with a storm as well. Be not afraid though! Eli will make his return to The Caverns in May. But if you can’t wait to see his shows he will be playing At The Shrine Outdoors in LA with Mind Against. Until then, do not let Hurricane Helene get you, and stay dry everybody!

Aaron Hibell & Alex Wann Team Up On Euphoric New Single, ‘set me free’

Out today is the highly anticipated collaboration from visionary producer and composer Aaron Hibell and Melodic Afro innovator Alex Wann, entitled ‘set me free.‘ Released via Astralwerks, the collaboration highlights the unique talents of both artists, merging Hibell’s cinematic, emotive production style with Wann’s signature deep percussive rhythms, creating a powerful, melodic track that is both captivating and forward-thinking.
Here’s what Aaron Hibell had to say about the creation of the new track: “My manager sent me the isolated vocal one day that he’d dug out from an old playlist of songs and I initially started a harder trance version. It was okay but it was missing the feeling which I strive for. He suggested I try it in a slightly different style and I made a slower more melodic version, and it was night and day. We instantly knew this was the type of song we wanted on the album but hadn’t yet made. I had become close with Alex Wann after he remixed my song ‘ghost’ and it turned out this was the perfect song for us to collaborate on. He added his grooves and sounds and brought it into another world. When we started playing it live we realized the power of the record“.
Alex Wann continues to reflect on the single: “This release is one I have been really excited about for some time now. Myself and Aaron made this back in January and since we started playing it out we’ve been getting a crazy amount of attention on the release. It’s not something either of us saw coming as we are both from such different worlds musically“.
The Build-Up To ‘set me free’
This release not only marks an exciting collaboration between two promising talents, but also serves as one of the official soundtracks for this year’s Ultra Music Festival Aftermovie, a fitting placement for a track of this magnitude. Aaron Hibell hit a massive career milestone and scored the entire aftermovie for the iconic festival where he included more released and unreleased tracks to come. Today, award-winning artist and producer Ben Böhmer shares his highly anticipated third studio album, Bloom. The 11-track LP, which brings his innate skill and passion for songwriting and composing to the foreground, is out now via Ninja Tune.

Ben has delivered Bloom as a confident reassertion of his improvisational origins as a songwriter. Despite the success of over 1 billion streams, one of the most-viewed live electronic sets on YouTube (34M+ views), and performing over 200 times in 2022, Ben’s talent as a musician has been compartmentalized, in a way, until now. Armin van Buuren Continues To Amaze With Vangelis Classic ‘Pulstar’ Rework

Armin van Buuren, the legendary Trance producer also known for being a great admirer of the Electronic and Ambient music legend, the late Vangelis, surprises us today with a re-masterization of the iconic ‘Pulstar‘. This dynamic version has all the respect that this masterpiece deserves, simultaneously encapsulating the spirit of ambition and the drive to conquer the challenges.
“Music is more than art, and it’s the main code of the universe” is one of the most powerful sentences by one of the most prodigious producers and composers in the world, Vangelis, who captured the mystic essence of the universe with Albedo 0:39, one of the best Electronic music albums in History. We can listen to the original version of ‘Pulstar’ from this great work. This is a loop with a 20-second melody sounding over and over again for more than 5 minutes, but it managed to be a masterpiece in all its splendor.
This particular song along with others from the same album captivated children and adults both in the now classic program “Cosmos” hosted by Carl Sagan and in other scientific, news, and even sports programs. One of those people amazed by the considered “sound of the universe” was one now known as one of the greatest DJs and producers in history: Armin van Buuren.

If we delve into the Dutchman’s history, we will discover that he is a great fan of the late Greek composer, indeed we can listen to the influence of Vangelis on tracks such as ‘Communication’, ‘Sail’, and all the Gaia Stuff, to be more specific: the Moons of Jupiter album, released on 2019. The King of Trance has always shown himself to be a fan of space themes and considers the “space composer” as one of his greatest influences, and partly the reason why he is dedicated to music today.
In 2024, he decided to make a remaster of this song. This re-work perfectly preserves the original essence of ‘Pulstar’ but, with the addition of this producer’s characteristic Trance sound, a very euphoric and thunderous one that strengthens the meaning of the original song, giving the power of a pulsar we can capture with our astronomical study devices in the most remote places of the universe.
Pulsating with energy, euphoria, and uplifting melodies, ‘Pulstar‘ will possibly become a Dutch anthem, uniting the best of New Age Ambient music and Trance. The track encapsulates the creative spark and euphoria in the moment of listening to the original version and a classic theme of Electronic music, offering a glimpse into the unique chemistry of these iconic artists.
It seems that this track follows the same narrative driven by the DJ since Feel Again, seeing Armin’s personal reconnection with music, it showcases music’s unifying power, inviting listeners to celebrate life, recognize the light in others, and reconnect on dance floors. London-based Eclectic Electronic Talent Tian Karl Returns From Lengthy Hiatus With New Label Project and Forthcoming Album

Since his last release in 2020, Tian Karl has been locked away in the studio redefining his sonic palette, resulting in several planned singles before the end of 2024 and subsequent LP in early 2025. 

London-based underground talent Tian Karl returns to the fore in 2024 with the emergence of his new label ‘TRUST ISSUES’, a slew of new singles and his forthcoming album ‘THINGS TO SAY ABOUT WORDS’, set for release in early 2025. Giving the first insight into a body of works that has been in the making since 2015, ‘Flint’ eases us back into the trademark sound that saw Tian sign music to the likes of Defected, Black Butter Records, Nervous, InMotion, Avotre and many more in years past.
Undeniably danceable, ‘FLINT’ is flooded with chugging grooves, hearty low-end swing, and dreamy electronic musicality from start to finish. A head-turning Minimal / Deep Tech dancefloor jam, ‘FLINT’ is one of several tracks on Tian’s forthcoming LP that bridge the gap between the sound he’s known and loved for and the newer, more experimental side of his productions, which showcase a plethora of mature and fearlessly artistic traits. 
Tian Karl emerged in London’s scene in 2015 and, within a few months, had left his mark on imprints such as Defected, Black Butter Records, Nervous, InMotion, Avotre and many more. As releases on respected labels usually do, they led him to play at iconic venues such as XOYO and Ministry Of Sound. A forced hiatus in 2018 took him out of focus for a while and changed his sound into more introspective themes while not abandoning his signature garage and Neo soul-infused dancefloor sound. “There will always be traces of house, garage, Neo soul, maybe even IDM in my sound without ever being one thing only, I guess. It’s just what happens when I make music. I don’t think about it, to be honest.” he describes his process. In 2024, Tian returns with his own imprint, TRUST ISSUES, with Issue001 “FLINT”, marking his first single (post-hiatus) and his debut album “THINGS TO SAY ABOUT WORDS”, following later in early 2025.
