Creamfields Entry Delayed Due To Stormy Weather

Music Festivals have been taking a beating this year. The weather has wreaked havoc on festivals including Ultra Miami, Electric Forest, Elements, Bass Canyon, and more. Now we can add Creamfields to the list of those that have delayed opening due to stormy weather and high winds.
Called Storm Lilian, high winds has caused flight cancelations and cut power to hundreds of homes. Yellow warnings for wind are in place on Friday morning and expectations of gusts of up to 80mph. Attendees have been told to sit in their cars and not their tents. They are also not letting in anyone as of Friday morning until the winds have calmed down.
Tents have been seen flying away. The Leeds Festival stated on X that it would be unable to open the main arena on time and would not be opening the BBC Radio 1 or Aux stages at all on Friday. According to meteorologists, the high winds should pass by nighttime and the rest of the weekend should be a success.

OutKast File Trademark Infringement Lawsuit Against ATLiens: Report

André 3000 and Big Boi, who comprise the iconic hip-hop duo OutKast, have launched a trademark infringement lawsuit against the electronic music duo ATLiens, Billboard reports.
The masked, anonymous bass music tandem share a name with OutKast's sophomore album, ATLiens, which released in 1996 via LaFace Records and Arista Records.
"The word ATLiens was invented by OutKast," according to the suit. "Before OutKast created it, it was not used in the cultural lexicon and did not exist. Defendant's use of the ATLiens mark is likely to cause confusion, to cause mistake, or to deceive the public."

The album's titular track remains one of OutKast's most popular songs, receiving over 186 million streams on Spotify at the time of this writing. The record is "one of OutKast’s most well-known and well-regarded songs," according to the lawsuit, which also rebukes ATLiens' repeated performances of the song during their DJ sets.
André 3000 and Big Boi have also taken aim at ATLiens' signature masks, which the lawsuit claims leads to confusion surrounding the two groups' identities. OutKast's legal team reportedly attempted to "negotiate an amicable resolution to the dispute," but ATLiens continued to use the name "in confusing ways."
"The duo comprising defendant performs with masks on, thereby concealing their identities such that consumers will mistakenly believe that the members of Defendant are one and the same with—or at least somehow connected to—plaintiff," per Outkast's lawyers.
ATLiens have not publicly commented on the lawsuit at the time of this writing.

“Seventronics” Releases Long-Awaited ‘I’ll Wait For You’

Dance music titans Subtronics and Seven Lions team up for their highly-anticipated debut collab ‘I’ll Wait For You’ feat. Skylar Grey. Blending the best of their respective worlds, the two artists serve up monstrous sub heavy bass drops to accompany a haunting vocal performance courtesy of renowned GRAMMY-nominated vocalist Skylar Grey.

Dubbed by fans as “Seventronics,” the long awaited collaboration between Seven Lions and Subtronics was over a year in the making starting with Seven Lions repping an instrumental version of ‘I’ll Wait For You’ in his sets during his Journey 3 headline album tour in the spring of 2023.
As the music began to resonate with fans and evolve, he was delivered a pitch track from HAYLA and Poppy Baskcomb, two of the most prominent female voices and lyricists in dance music right now. Their work fit the tone of the song perfectly and as Subtronics came in to add his flavor, Skylar Grey delivered the vocal for the embracing track heard today.
Seven Lions
Washington-based producer Seven Lions has never had an issue pushing the boundaries of electronic music to fulfill his creative vision. Catching a break after winning a Beatport remix contest in 2012 with his dubstep-focused version of Above & Beyond’s “You Got To Go”, Seven Lions, born Jeff Montalvo, garnered support from the likes of Anjunabeats, Casablanca, OWSLA, Viper Recordings, Republic Records, and Monstercat over the past ten years. After releasing on a plethora of labels, Seven Lions created Ophelia Records in 2018 which has since become a leading independent label in the melodic bass subgenre.
Since its emergence only four years ago, the label has already made an imprint in the dance music scene having been voted Dancing Astronaut’s Label Of The Year in 2021, releasing multiple #1 iTunes Dance albums and hosting festival stage takeovers and showcases around the country. His productions have seen stages at world-renowned festivals including Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival, Electric Zoo, and HARD.
Skylar Grey
Skylar Grey is an American singer-songwriter and record producer known for her hauntingly emotive voice and introspective songwriting. In 2006, she released her debut album, Like Blood Like Honey, which showcased her distinctive voice and lyrical depth. The singer’s breakthrough came when she began working with rapper and producer Eminem. Grey’s distinctive voice and songwriting skills contributed to Eminem’s hit single ‘Love the Way You Lie’, which she co-wrote with Alex da Kid. The song was a massive success, reaching the top of charts worldwide and bringing Skylar Grey into the mainstream spotlight.
Following this success, Grey collaborated with a range of artists, including Dr. Dre and Lupe Fiasco. Her unique style, which blends elements of pop, rock, and electronic music, made her a sought-after collaborator. Her contributions to the music industry earned her critical acclaim and a growing fan base. Most recently, Grey landed credit for ‘Temporary’, on Eminem’s #1 album, The Death of Slim Shady (Coup de Grâce).
Subtronics
A love for SUBwoofers and elecTRONICS has brought us Subtronics. Hailing from Philadelphia, PA, Subtronics’ musical journey began with a fervor for his drum set and an appreciation for Radiohead. Discovering dubstep in high school ignited his passion for music production which has since propelled his artistic trajectory. Over the past decade, Subtronics has honed his skills to create a fusion of cutting-edge sound design that pushes the boundaries of electronic music. Known for his electrifying live performances and advanced mixing abilities, he has cultivated an ever-growing fanbase. Headlining renowned festivals such as Lollapalooza, Bonnaroo, Ultra Music Festival, Electric Daisy Carnival Las Vegas, and more. Subtronics has left an indelible mark on the scene. Having sold out every headline tour since 2018, Subtronics inked a groundbreaking national tour deal with Live Nation in 2023. Louis The Child are once again ready to bring the warmth of endless summer days to dancefloors with their newly announced album, The Sun Comes Up. 
Dropping on September 20th via Interscope, their highly anticipated sophomore album promises to encapsulate the carefree yet poignant sound that has long-defined the duo for the better part of a decade. The announcement comes hand-in-hand with the release of its lead single, "Make You Mine."
The track effortlessly intertwines infectious house rhythms with the complex feelings of longing and devotion. "We've known Whethan for almost 10 years now and came up around the same time in Chicago," Louis The Child said in a press release shared with EDM.com. "We shared a studio back then and moved to L.A. around the same time to continue our pursuit of music... He's someone we look at as a brother, and getting to release another song with him is really special."

Get Lost In Mystic State's Chilling Soundscapes With New EP, "Yozakura"

Mystic State continue to push the boundaries of bass music in their new EP, Yozakura.
In the four-track EP, the Bristol-based production duo curate a stunning exploration of sound while staying true to their authentic style. The release arrives via Chord Marauders, an imprint they say has "helped inspire and shape [their] sound than perhaps any other record label out there."
They begin with "Xoyo," where haunting melodies immerse us in Mystic State's spine-chilling universe. The illusory track, which Mystic State called one of their favorite pieces of music they've ever produced, evokes the feeling of exploring uncharted territory in our dreams. Entering into "Yozakura," a sense of tranquility and curiosity overwhelms the senses as expertly-woven layers of synths and percussive elements throb with palpable depth.
"The Perfection" immediately captures our attention with punchy drums and an enthralling beat. Its vocal sample tugs at the heartstrings before giving way to a poignant breakdown, showcasing the duo's uncanny ability to bottle nostalgia in their soundscapes.
Distorted voices and the sounds of human commotion usher in the EP's final song, "What We Have." The track's deep basslines build to a soothing voice that monologues themes of togetherness and gratitude. Mystic State then hit us with a clean breakdown of rich percussion, weaving a narrative of thankfulness and shared emotion.
"This is our Yozakura EP, which we believe to be a true reflection of where our sound is at currently," the duo wrote on Instagram. "Hopefully there’s something on this EP for every one of you."

A fragmented mind finds its glue in Shattered Reflections, the new EP from BERNZIKIAL.
Out now on Bear Grillz's Rude Service imprint, the five-track EP is a captivating sonic collage that blends the driving energy of dubstep and riddim with intricate, textured melodies. The Orlando-based producer masterfully weaves together these disparate elements, creating a listening experience that's both visceral and evocative.
He demonstrates a keen ear for sonic detail throughout, crafting intricate yet heavy-hitting tracks that reward close listening. Synths shimmer and glitch, percussion patterns interlock in hypnotic fashion, and the low end hits with a gut-punching force.
The titular track of Shattered Reflections sets the tone with a haunting intro, where a sample of a conversation between partners in a deteriorating relationship mirrors the tempestuous future bass sounds in the drop. Elsewhere in the EP, he produces dark Wave music in "Thinking of You," which feels like a sonic exploration of fragmented identity.
That search for meaning amid the chaos of modern life is key, according to BERNZIKIAL, who says he has struggled with suicidal thoughts.
"Mental health is a deeply personal and sensitive subject for me, as I'm sure it is for many others who have faced similar struggles," he tells EDM.com. "I've been in dark places and have tried to end it all multiple times, but I came to realize that I'm still here for a reason. That reason, for me, is to share my story through my art and to create meaningful, transformative experiences with my music and performances."
Shattered Reflections is out now to align with BERNZIKIAL's upcoming performance at Orlando's Tavern East, where he will headline a charity fundraiser for the National Alliance on Mental Illness (NAMI). All proceeds will benefit the organization's efforts to raise awareness of mental health issues.
"Although mental health is gaining more attention each year, I’ve noticed that in the music industry, it still doesn't get the consistent focus it deserves," he adds. "I believe it's not enough to just acknowledge it for a month—we need to keep these conversations going, especially in spaces where it's often overlooked. My goal is to contribute to that dialogue and encourage others to do the same."

Emissaries from alternative dimensions
The performers, dressed in costumes designed by Alex and Allyson, will inhabit characters based on elements of the divine imagination. Angel-headed dancers, with flaming third eyes, and stilt-walking seraphim with iridescent wings, move through the space with supernatural grace, guiding you through landscapes of surreal beauty. Now You Can Add Music to Your Instagram Profile

Instagram now has a new feature that allows user profiles to include music tracks if anyone wishes to do so. According to the Instagram post that Creators uploaded, it showed tips on how users on the widely-used, global social media platform giant showed tips for users on how they can include music tracks to showcase on their profiles. The post also showed that Instagram users, once choosing the track that they wish to play whenever anyone or even themselves visit their page, that track will continue to play on their profile until they swap it out for another track. One thing to consider is that 30 seconds is the maximum number of seconds that Instagram allows user profiles to choose how long that track can play out.

The fourth slide of the same post provided instructions on how anyone can include their desired tracks on their Instagram user profiles. The first step is to select ‘Edit Profile’ from the Profile tab and then tap ‘Add music to your profile’. Then, the second step is for the individual to search for their favorite song or browse the ‘For You’ section. Finally, the individual will then select the song they would like to use and choose the clip duration for their Profile. Again, the maximum number of seconds allowed is 30 seconds.
This is a great feature that Instagram has implemented and it allow its users to showcase their genuine personalities through their favorite track at the moment. Whether if it is a simple music lover who loves to jam out in their room’s comforts or a world-famous DJ/rocker/rapper/musician who has millions of adoring fans, adding a track to their profiles is an amazing way to allow their followers to also know who they really are.

Excision Confirms Involvement In Chris Hemsworth and Scarlett Johansson-Led "Transformers" Film

Fans of dubstep and Transformers are finding an unlikely alliance after Excision's shocking reveal of his work for the franchise's newest film.
The dubstep superstar last weekend returned to the scenic Gorge Amphitheatre for another iteration of his beloved Bass Canyon festival. As you'd expect, the event featured performances from some of the biggest names in dubstep and bass music alongside a bevy of the world's most promising DJs and electronic producers.
Like usual, eye-popping clips have been circulating through social media following the fest, but none raised more eyebrows than Excision's teaser, which revealed his involvement with the sci-fi action film Transformers One.
During his headlining performance, Excision shared footage and audio of the upcoming movie set to his music. Naturally, rumors quickly ran rampant with regard to whether or not it was an official collaboration since the film's lead, Chris Hemsworth, shared the footage on his own socials.
"See you at Lost Lands brobot!" Excision said in a reply to the Thor star.
The rumors, however, were confirmed in short order by Excision, who today revealed his official involvement with the film, which also stars Scarlett Johansson, Jon Hamm and Laurence Fishburne. Excision has not yet disclosed the scope of his work at the time of this writing, but shared high-quality audio of the track featured in his performance.
"I've been a huge fan of Transformers since I was a kid, so I’m excited to be working with Transformers One and Paramount Pictures on this project," he writes. "More to come soon!"
Transformers One hits theaters on September 20th, 2024.
